Tried this place on a ski trip w the family. Can't speak for the sushi bar but was there an hour before our chef showed up at the table. Could have had a good 3 or 4 beers by then but nobody seemed interested in serving anything. Had a chance to use the restroom...my high school gym bathroom was cleaner than that. Food was a 5 out of 10 an overpriced but the chef antics were fun for the kids.

I love this place, they make great sushi and Hibachi (great for kids) they almost always have half off sushi rolls and me and my girlfriends love to come here and unwind and have some different flavored sakis (excellent by the way) and the sushi rolls are amazing, yes I get it, the sushi rolls don't taste like the ones in Denver or New york or wherever your from, but up here in the mountains this is near perfect for us! Customer service is hit or miss, sometimes i get someone who doesn't speak very good english, and that can sometimes be an issue if we cant understand each other.

Came here for dinner with dad at the recommendation of the very nice manager at the outlet mall's information center. We noticed in one of the papers that they had a 50% discount on entrees & sushi rolls during this off-season time, so that sealed the deal. First, we ordered a sunset roll and a spider roll. We loved 'em! Then we got a calamari appetizer. It was different than any I'd had before (very small pieces and a beer batter) but very tasty and hot. Then we ordered two more sunset rolls because they were so yummy! Service was polite & attentive, but not like they were trying to hurry us out of there. We liked having the water carafe at the table so we didn't run out of water to drink. We even rearranged our schedule so we could come back! Our second visit was even better. Loved the smoked squid salad and we had 2 more sunset rolls!

As a big connoisseur of sushi, I think this place was alright given that it is one of the only sushi places in Keystone, it really wasn't that bad. The prices were a little high, but that's to be expected in a touristy location. Overall, I would recommend sitting at the grill and getting your food "hibachi or benihana style" or order the sashimi. The speciality and cooked rolls are not that impressive. I would stick with the simple stuff to be safe. If you are really craving sushi and you're all the way in Keystone, definitely come to this place. Otherwise, forget about it. It is overpriced and tastes pretty bland.

There are two sides to this restaurant hibachi and sushi side. I have eaten on both sides.. I would highly recommend the hibachi side. You delicious food ( I recommend the scallops!) and alot of it.. I could not eat all of my meal. Also, the chefs make the whole experience a lot of fun. As for the sushi side.. not worth it. One its really expensive and quality is not great. There are way better sushi places in summit county.

Came here for the hibachi. If you've ever experienced hibachi then it's pretty consistent. Our cook was just fine, he wasn't very talkative or eager to please, but he put on a decent show (with my enthusiasm and clapping I did get a smile out of him) and he did the volcano thing with the onion as we asked. He cooked everything fine. But nothing really wowed me. The prices are steep for hibachi, roughly about $45 per person. I got the steak and asked for it to be cooked medium, it was slightly more medium well but that's just fine. The fried rice was good. We didn't get our vegetables till the very end. I can't remember if that's the normal but the rest of my food got cold waiting for it. The miso soup and salad was as expected. Everything was just average. The pork dumplings were very meaty I might add. The portions are actually very decent. The cook did not turn the exhaust fan on, I think he forgot so the smoke blew in our faces. Then one of the other waiters came by towards the end and turned it on. Our clothes and hair ended up smelling for the rest of the evening.

I was crunch for time and my fren suggested this restaurant for our lunch. Is this the NOZAWA, I went to yesterday Sunday July 25th 2010 with my gurlfren for lunch? I hope so. Coz from my check or bill ticket, the physical address is stated as : NOZAWA 282 B US Highway 6 Silverthorne, CO 80498 (970)-262-6600 But the menu I found online, they stated at this Physical address : Dillon Ridge Market Place 282-B US Hwy 6 Dillon, CO 80453 (970)-262-6600 Anyways, since both of them have the same phone number, I guess this is the Nozawa I went. My order was as the following : * KING CRAB Nigiri * Unagi ~ Fresh Water Eel Nigiri * Spicy Scallops Nigiri * Amaebi Sweet Shrimp Nigiri My friend ordered Lo-Mein with Chicken to dine in and Chicken Fried Rice to go box for her hubby and daughter's lunch. All in all I experienced better. The "bad" thing about the sushi was the rice, too googy for my taste bud. When my fren ask me to taste her Lo Mein, it was mushy, though a little tasty. If only they can make it more spicy coz we ask for Sriracha sauce, to up the taste of the Lo Mein. The service was OK, and if I am not mistaken our Server her name was Virginia and the food came quite fast for us. Luckily we were there before the crowds of other patrons came in for their Sunday lunch. I heard from my fren, Nozawa is not open during the winter months. Do call ahead just in case. Hence I rate this establishment between 2.5 to 2.75 stars.

Awesome spot for Sushi! In the off season they do %50 off and you really can't beat that deal!

Kemosabe on Main St in Frisco or Storm King Lounge in Copper are going to be your best bets. Caveat Emptor.

Ok sushi in Dillon but not amazing. The place is packed during ski season, but I guess that is because there are limited dining options. I doubt I would go back when I go back for another ski season.

I came here on the recommendation of a co-worker, but what really caught my attention was when she told me they do 50% off during the off season! So I figured, even if the reviews were mixed, I ought to give it a try. Apparently it's been recently remodeled, I had never been in before the remodeling so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was nice. There is a separate section for Hibachi and then a dining room with a sushi bar. Service was excellent, our waiter was super friendly and attentive. My boyfriend and I both got an entree and two specialty rolls to share. I had the pad thai, it was pretty tasty, not the best I've had, but I was not disappointed with it one bit. I would definitely order it again. Big hearty serving as well, had it again for lunch the next day. The sushi was delicious, particularly the Tiger Roll. I may not be a sushi connoisseur, but this stuff definitely does not suck. Great explosion of flavors. For being landlocked in the mountains guys, you have to cut any place serving seafood some slack. I used to live on the east coast and have had FRESH fish, and I really enjoyed all the fish I ate here. Everything I ate was delicious. As a local to the mountains, I'm definitely going to be back during the off season, I mean come on you can't beat 50% off everything...

Teppanyaki its the best, you get a table where a chef will cook an entree for you, you get a salad a soup and during mud season everything its 50%off. The sushi its not the best, altough the "Yummy" has good flavor... The chefs will make ur evening a fun experience with a fire dispaly and their kindness!!!

Don't waste your money. The food from the kitchen is really bad. We had a 80$ order to go. Our order was wrong the tempura was soggy and inedible. All other dishes along with golden tofu were inedible too. Only thing worth eating was the sushi, it was ok for the mountains. So we payed 80$ for some sushi rolls. I called a manager to complain about the food and they were very unprofessional. So add terrible customer service as well. The only reason this place is still in business is because the amount of out of town people we get here. Way better places to eat in Summit county.

Keep with the sushi Everything else is lousy The vegables are non exisiting The pad thai was the greasy, the waitress had no idea what to do with the lousy dish. She should have just taken it away. We ended up bringing it home.

Headline: Hole in the wall with seriously good sushi Nozawa is at the end of a strip mall, and is nothing to look at - inside or out. The restaurant has seen better days. The hostess stand has plexiglass; there isn't any music or TV's. We walk in on a Saturday lunch time and feel like we are in a museum it's so quiet. The chairs are uncomfortable, the table wobbly. Even the service seems run-down. This restaurant has seen better days. Still, we are in the mood for japanese fare, and Frisco isn't exactly brimming with them. Fortunately for us, the food is anything but ordinary. It's lunch time, so I'm ordering a bento box. Pick your curry or pad thai, plus some extras. First to arrive is a cup of hot and sour soup This is unctuous, brown and full of flavor. Add a small bowl of lettuce with a creamy ginger dressing and things are looking up, although - really - the lettuce is nothing to write home about, I'll come back just for the soup. The bento box itself consists of three pieces of slightly greasy tempura vegetables - onion, zucchini and sweet potato. They might as well have not bothered with this part. The california roll made me sit up - yes, for a california roll, that means something. The highlight of the box was the Panang Curry with Chicken. Nice and spicy, with sweetness provided by pineapple; mushrooms, green beans and carrots round out the vegetable mix. I'd have preferred them to sear the chicken, since it was a little slimy, but the curry was delicious. Finish the box with some honey dew water melon slices. Unlike many I've seen, these are actually ripe, so they are juicy and taste like water melon. My wife had the highlight though. Two sushi rolls that are better quality than I've had anywhere else. You pay through the nose for this quality but it's well worth it. She had the sunset roll - tempura shrimp and crab meat topped with salmon and avocado, and the Mountain Top Roll - tuna, crab meat, avocado, cucumber toppped with masago. Both rolls were well constructed, with the right amount of rice (what is it with todays sushi restaurants that they feel they need to bulk up rolls with rice?). You could taste each component. This is among the best sushi I have had in a long time. (And yes, for those that know me, this is better than Mikuni). Overall, the food sets it apart. They do a take-out service, so that may be a better option if you are staying in area. The dining room really needs some love.

We eat here every time we come to Summit County, and we always enjoy the food. I find it to be accommodating for our big family with wide menu selections. This year, however, we had the most hateful waitress I've had in a long time. We marked our sushi order, including some cut rolls, and there was a different place to order hand rolls. I didn't notice the hand roll we wanted was under a box denoted "cut or hand roll"--my bad, I guess, but when a cut roll arrived I complained to the server. What I got was an argument from her that it is on me to circle which way I wanted it (by the way, no little hand sign to check like I often see), head shaking as she walked away, seriously obsequious service after including patting me and asking me if I was ok. I would have liked to slap her. We will go back next year because I know she'll be gone, but why do they keep her now?

Ok, I admit it. I was more than a little wary of sushi restaurants in the High Country. After all, the fish must be flown in or trucked in so how fresh can it be? Well, call me cynical no more. After a meal of various specialty rolls at Nozawa I'm effectively changing my tune. I was fully surprised at how good the sushi rolls were and the freshness of the fish. I admit the atmosphere and decor are a bit lacking, but the food was good - better than my expectations and when you're craving sushi as I often do, that craving needs to be quelled. Nozawa also happens to be conveniently located near our ski house and is right off Dillon Ridge Rd. which is easily accessible from Silverthorne or Keystone. They also offer Teppanyaki in addition to sushi. If you find yourself in the mountains and looking for sushi, then you should do yourself a favor and visit Nozawa.

The evening started nicely as we were greeted promptly at the door and shown to our table. we quickly noticed the poor, uninspired decor. The place was ruined down with the very basic tables old, cheap dining chairs, etc. The bathroom was terrible as well with dirt in every corner and cheap, pink hand soap out of a wall dispenser. Our server, Matt, was very nice and helpful. We ordered a green salad with ginger dressing, cucumber salad, sashimi and a cup of sushi rice. The cucumber salad was swimming in a sweet, yet tasteless rice vinegar. The sashimi was excellent, yet the sushi rice was overly sweet. the sushi and service is the only reason I gave this 2 stars. When you go out to sushi you expect the place to be clean and nice. Makes you start to wonder about the condition of the kitchen. This place needs a good scrub, some remodeling, and a critical review of the menu.

Surprisingly good sushi in Dillon! So this place is in a strip shopping mall and not all that great to look at on the inside, but the food was really good. Four of us went to dinner and we sat at the hibachi table. Three of us ordered hibachi and one just ordered sushi. We've eaten a lot of sushi in our lives, including west coast and Hawaii and this was really fresh, really good. Downside is that it is also really really expensive. The hibachi was also good, although not too different from any other hibachi place where we have eaten. Overall I would recommend it for dinner, just be prepared for the cost!

Sketchy. Weird karaoke thing in bar area. Sat in bar for 5 minutes till someone came and helped me. Didn't come back for another 5 minutes, so I left.

Catch this place on the right night and you might be eating some of the best sushi in the high country. George and his staff are always welcoming and on point, may get a little heck-tick when its gets busy but that's to be expected. You want a true locals roll order the shredder you will not regret it warm cream cheesy goodness from the heavens.

This was the absolute worst place I have ever been to. When we arrived we were the only table in the entire restaurant. The waitress could not even get silverware, napkins, or chop sticks on the table. When we ordered the waitress screwed up the drink order and gave a diabetic a regular Pepsi after double checking the order. Following that disaster it took an unreal amount of time to get the food. To add to that the order was wrong and cold not to mention some of the worst Chinese food I have ever tried. I would not recommend this place to cockroaches to invade.

Went here on one of their 50% off night and even then it was pretty expensive. The whole experience was a little awkward the server was weird and the cook wasn't the right type for the job. Their fried rice was lacking flavor, the vegetables were over cooked, the cooked messed up the steak type, they only had two beers on draft. I couldn't imagine paying the fully price for this place.

Stopped here for some takeout sushi and was informed we wouldn't receive the 50% discount for takeout! What?!? Are you kidding me. I guess the intent is to loose business rather than appease the customer. Oh well. Your loss.

What made it imperative that we come here was the 50% off rolls for their off-season special. Stepping in, the place was packed. A lot of the people who work here seem to be familiar with the locals eating here. The service was a bit slow, but since the place was so busy it was expected. Because of the special we ordered 5 rolls without thinking about it. The fiance was on a per diem for work so we decided to have two markup sheets for the rolls. There were some "0's" due to our changing out minds a couple times and we should have done a better job explaining ourselves, but in came this ginormous boat of DOUBLE OF EVERYTHING. Fortunately, they still only charged us for 5. Even though that's expected, we were extremely grateful. Holy freaking crap the rolls were huge too. I'm not talking huge in girth but they were just big. At the regular price of 10+ bucks a roll, it sort of makes sense. The dragon roll had the big eel that you'd typically get for a meal on its own, rather than the smaller eel reserved for rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. I'm not sure if we'd come back to this place without the off-season special, but it definitely warrants the recommendation for anyone in the mood for some solid rolls in a friendly atmosphere.

By far the best Sushi in summit county! It's actually run and rolled by Japanese unlike the other places in town. The fried rice is to die for and hands down the only true flavorful hot and sour soup! Only thing preventing 5 stars is the staff, high turnover and you can wait a long time for your server.

    (4)
  • Jamie C.

Strong 3. Large delicious portion sizes, and the 50% off is a value. We had sushi and a few Chinese dishes, and all were excellent. Surprisingly good wine list!! Don't visit here for a glamorous ambiance. Do visit for fast, delicious Asian food at an affordable price (speaking of the slow season 50% off special).

    (3)
  • Dirty W.

It's the best sushi in town but that's not saying much. It was better when it was Masato's. Teppanyaki is fun.

    (3)
  • Mark G.

Like all restaurants in Summit County, Nozawa is mediocre at best. The place is one of the loudest restaurants in the County and the tables are placed so close together, that you are basically eating with strangers. And if the din of an overstuffed dining room with absolutely no ambience isn't enough for you, the music is played so loud, you want to run away! It's quite obvious the staff has had little or no training (common in Summit County), and really could care less if you're there or not. The sushi is fine and presented well, but the loud, crowded, poorly trained staff completely takes away from the experience. Find somewhere else to go or go blindfolded with your earplugs...

This is my favorite place for lunch. I love tempura sushi with yummy sauces on it, and it is usually hard to find. They have some great options here. My girlfriend who likes regular sushi & has had it all over the world says that this place is great. Everything is very fresh. In the summers, they have half off of their menu, which is a screaming deal, but you only get this deal if you dine in. My husband does not like sushi but he loves their orange chicken. He has a big appetite and usually ends up taking half of his meal home because it is so filling & such great portions. Their service is pretty good, just wish they would smile a little more. They have another side that opens at night with a bar & a chef that will cook at your table. Very nicely decorated, but they have some weird smell when you walk in, like rotten floor or something, but once you get over that, it's amazing!

  • Laura W.

The sushi is worthwhile especially for in the mountains. The Tom Yam soup was very good, but the Udon in broth was lackluster. Stick to sushi. The tapanyaki side is entertaining but pricey... Both sides offer generous portions. The reason I didn't give 4 stars is the place as a rule is dirty. Bathrooms? Filthy. The menus are always sticky with food from previous diners. A little attention to cleanliness would do wonders. However, with few independent restaurant options in Dillon, the dirtiness is overlooked by many as it's always hopping with patrons.

We are huge sushi fans. While in the area for our honeymoon, we checked Yelp and asked around for a good sushi lunch. This place definitely cured my sushi cravings. I'm not going to tell you it's the best I've ever had, but I was definitely not disappointed. And the 50% off rolls made it a great value!

    (4)
  • Ali J.

Two stars only because of their 50% off deal, the sushi isn't worth it's full price here. Plan on waiting to be seated, then waiting to have a server come over while 4 of them wander around aimlessly looking for something to do. Then expect them so forget the only thing you order that wasn't written on the sushi card. 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order with a half full dining room. I wouldn't pay full price here, but the sushi is worth the half price deal if you don't go in starving and have time to stay for awhile.

  • TJ B.

The sushi was very good. I had 1 specialty rolls, 2 standard rolls and 2 pieces of sashimi. That food plus a bowl of miso and a rum & coke was $53 (before tip). Seems a tad expensive, but I haven't compared to other sushi in the area. Quality of all the fish was good except the Toro, which was very tough. Is Toro supposed to be soft and buttery? Waitress was friendly and stopped by often to check on me, sushi chefs were not friendly. It was the end of the night and I gathered they wanted to clean up and go home, but don't let in a new customer if you can't be nice, it's the only reason people sit at the bar. If you need a sushi fix and you don't mind paying for it, I'd recommend Nozawa.

Turns out to be a little better than expected, in this location anyway. We saw a BOGO sign taped to the door, bingo! Of course only certain rolls are BOGO and they are really small pieces but at least they offer something to attract customers! And the rolls didn't taste too bad. The salmon roll we got from the non-BOGO part of the menu is larger in size. We came in during slow hours and as we were leaving I was surprised to find there's another bigger section of the restaurant that didn't seem to be opened at this hour. Looked to be Hibachi tables so maybe at night you have an option to sit there? I'd come again if I find myself at this area again.

  • Kevin B.

The sushi, gyoza and fried rice were all tasty - not the best I have ever had, but a good option if you're in the area craving sushi. Despite a nearly full dining room, we received adequate service and the food arrived quickly. The 50% off items during the off season made our lunch an incredible value! Aside from the discounts, a very average experience - you likely won't leave thrilled nor disappointed.

Service was slow even though I was one of three tables. Still trying to figure that out. I guess because texting came first, then service. Other than that the sushi was good and 50% off. I'll go back as I love sushi

The food is cheap and so is the quality. The food did not taste very good and left my boyfriend and me with achey tummies! My boyfriend enjoyed this place a couple years ago but says that it has gone downhill since then.

I was in a mood for a quick, light dinner that wouldn't further irritate my aching tooth. I've been tied up all week eating catered banquet fare in my hotel up the mountain, and was desperate for something different. I was pleasantly impressed with both food and service at Nozawa. Though it's in a strip mall, the restaurant is nicely designed and the ambiance is casual without being sloppy. The off season special on sushi was nice as well. I had a tempura and asparagus roll and a freshwater eel roll and both were pleasant. The Thai coconut shrimp soup I had to round out the meal was nice, if a bit underspiced. Then again, the portion was generous, and my tooth appreciated the lack of spice! This is super fare for those who are a bit altitude stressed and in need of oriental comfort food.

Came in a day they were offering both half price tappanyaki as well as sushi. I had the steak and shrimp combo and it was delicious. Our chef was entertaining of course and cooked my filet as ordered. The sushi was beautiful and very well made, fresh....I would return no doubt. Bonnie, our waitress was courteous and efficient.

  • Jay A.

Hands down best sushi you'll find in the mountains. Plus if you make it in before 4 or 5 (can't remember exactly) you can get the bento box, which is a decent amount of really good food for less than $10. My only complain would be is it's a bit pricey for anything else or after their specials.

    (4)
  • Carl P.

I sat on the sushi side of the restaurant at the sushi bar. The sushi was good and quickly prepared and the service was very good. I would say it is definitly one of the more established sushi restaurants in summit county. Most people don't expect much from mountain sushi but this place is just as good as the other two places I've tried up here.

It's the only place for Tepanyaki in Summit County and something that's been missing for a long time. I love going to a Tepanyaki dinner because I don't eat sushi so when I'm out with people who do, I know I'm still going to get a meal that I love. We came in early in the evening and we got sat right away. Everyone seemed to like the sushi but it was definitely on the expensive side. We got the 20% off special so it at least made it fair. The Tepanyaki was pretty good but I wouldn't say amazing. The fried rice and the veggies weren't all that impressive (rice is very hard to cook properly at high elevation) but I must say the ribeye steak was very good. The Chef was very entertaining and has a lot of little tricks and things for the crowd which was a nice touch. With the discounts this is definitely worth your time. I hope they are able to stick around for a while.

As tourists, we're happy we found this place for a quick bite to eat. We came after a long morning on a snowmobile tour and were hungry for lunch. We wanted to have a good lunch before hitting the slopes at Keystone. So happy we gave this restaurant a try. Their bento box lunches were a good deal Surprised a bowl of miso soup came with it. Definitely recommend this place.

The service is decent but the food is terrible. I've eaten a lot of sushi and this is just plain bad. The prices are ridiculous for what you get ($15-19) per roll. I don't mind paying that if the rolls are fresh, flavorful and memorable. These are not. I got rolls that just had not fresh tasting seafood and absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I think they are taking advantage of the tourists in the area by charging outrageous prices and delivering poor quality. Note to tourists coming to ski in Colorado, eat your sushi in Denver ( there are several great places that take it seriously) but don't plan on coming here unless you want to leave disappointed

We had a group of 7 that thought this would be a good place to try. I'm from CO and spend a lot of time in the high country and realize that you can't expect fast service, it is just the way it is pretty much everywhere you go. This place was by far the WORST service we have ever received. After making reservations and still having to wait 30 mins to be seated we finally were sat down at our table. I think our servers name was Collin. Drinks were slow to arrive and even longer to take our food order. After sitting at the table for over an hour our cold soup and salad finally arrived. When somebody in our party mentioned that we have been sitting for over an hour and we are just not getting our soup, the waiter fired back by saying it's not his fault and somebody did not show up for work and fired off a major attitude. I realize things happen, and a lot of our group had worked in the service industry and all know things do happen. But hey buddy, say that you are sorry and say you are doing everything you can, we don't need your attitude or excuses that it's not your fault. Food was ok, nothing great and definitely not worth the $60 for s few bites of steak and chicken. When we talked to the manager he did not seem to care about the terrible service and argue that it is typical to have to wait an hour to receive a salad and soup. He did comp us our drinks and one meal that they completely screwed up anyways. I definitely will never go back to this place

Okay, first off, some disclaimers: it's off-season, was there for lunch. But what I saw was: other than sushi, there is very little else Japanese on the menu --- mostly mediocre pan-asian stuff. (If there's still teppanyaki, it must be over in the bar half of the restaurant? I didn't see any of that on the menus they gave, and at least one seemed to be the dinner menu). We had decent sushi. I ordered a "sesame chicken" bento, hoping it was a Japanese style dish. However, it was the sesame chicken you'd find in an americanized chinese place. Most of the rest of the menu was American chinese and thai dishes. If you go, have sushi...

    (2)
  • Barbara B.

Absolutely, if you go, have sushi. It's decent. The udon, however, was horrible, and WAY overpriced, even if it had been good. It is canned beef broth, with frozen and canned vegetables thrown in. The only thing remotely related to "udon" is the noodles. I am an udon lover, and appreciate variations. This has no relation to real udon.

Interestingly enough this place is a hybrid Japanese and Thai restaurant. I don't know about the owner but the waiter/waitress are Chinese - they're good at their job. Prompt and courteous service. The lunch bento is a great deal - $7.50 for a bento box that includes a bowl of miso or hot & sour soup, a bowl of salad with yummy Japanese salad dressing first. Then the actual box with a mound of white rice, three pieces of vegetable tempura (we received 1 slice of zucchini, 1 slice of carrot, 1 slice of onion), 3 pieces of California Roll (which were slightly small but okay in flavor), a pile of edamame (pleasant surprise and always reliably good), and your choice of Thai entree (some options include: panang curry, red/yellow/green curry, basil chicken). The pile of the thai entree was pretty big. My yellow curry had a kick to it and had baby corn, pineapple, chicken (you can also choose tofu, pork, and beef I think), water chestnuts, green bell peppers, carrots. In the end I wasn't able to finish any more than half my entree but would gladly have brought it home if I lived nearby. Good ambience, not that busy on a President's Day Monday around noon. Clean and modern. Couple of flat screens.

Over priced for mediocre sushi. Toro was frozen and lacks taste. Salmon was touching the glass in the display because it was not properly wrapped. Seaweed salad was on top of a bed for non seasoned greens. Note that the price for the nigiri is for only 1 piece. I would not recommend going here

I went here because of the name Sushi Nogawa which was the famous "Sushi Nazi" in Studio City CA. He had the best sushi around anywhere. He now owns Sugar Fish sushi restaurants. At any rate, this place was a big mistake. The waitress had an attitude that made us want to leave before even sitting down. Nasty! The food was less then mediocre. Shrimp roll was fair and the stir fry almost made me sick. Stay away from this place. Don't let the name Sushi Nogawa fool you. There is no relation.

Never go there. Their Japanese mafia management style is only trying to turn tables. They'll try and serve your desert before your meal is in front of you.

Came on Christmas, one of the few places that was open. Service was excellent, food (we got mostly Thai) was not great. It was VERY heavy and greasy, not very hot, and not too flavorful. Maybe sushi would have been better, but it was 5 F and we were in the mood for something hot. Plus, it was expensive, a little more than $20 a person. I guess it is one of the only places in town for this type food, but it isn't great.

I ordered the peanut curry bento box off the lunch menu. Nice fresh veggies in the curry, BUT the sauce did not taste like any peanut sauce I have ever had AND it was not spicy as marked on the menu. I mentioned it to the server who asked how everything was. I said I was disappointed and she just smiled like she wasn't listening. No bookmark

It's been over a year since I've last gone to Nozawa. I wanted to give them another chance and I'm glad I did. Our server was super helpful and friendly and our sushi was fantastic! The sake bombs were awesome as well. The last time I had gone there our server was rude and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. They must have changed something because the service and our experience was much better this time. I'll be going back again!

My husban and I were looking for a place to have dinner near Keystone area. After I read reviews about this place, I wasn't sure to go. We have been to so many Japanese Restaurant and are huge fan of Japanese food. However we decided to stop by to see the menu. Then we saw that 50%off sign (off-season) and wanted to give it a try. We orderd a bunch of Sushi and the ribeye from teppanyaki menu. Also the drinks were 20%off. I was surprised that the teppanyaki tasted really good. Sushi was great. We were satisfied with the food and their service. I'd love to go back there.

This is the first and only (so far) sushi joint I ate at in Summit County since moving here. I went during the off-season when they offered the 50% off their menu, and went for dinner with my boyfriend. It's that kind of restaurant where you sit with other people you don't know at a large table around a stove and the chef cooks right in front of you and burns others' eyebrows! The chef was very entertaining, it was a great time and the sushi was wasn't bad, I was actually surprised. My boyfriend got a steak of some sort, and it was also very good. We probably won't come back in the winter though, since prices are probably jacked up, but during the off season, it's good and really fun!

We also visited Nozawa during the off-season, however we only received 20% each item. The sushi side of the restaurant was about half full, most of which was a large prom group. The service was decent, nothing special, the waitress didn't bother to really engage with us. I had a few different sushi rolls, they were OK (being in Colorado you can't have your expectations too high.) The rest of our party had the chicken stirfry and the teriyaki chicken, neither was very good. The stirfry was very bland, overly chewy noodles and over-cooked chicken. The teriyaki was decent, but how good or bad can teriyaki really be? We had high hopes for good japanese in Summit county, but I doubt we will be back. The sushi is decent, but I would steer clear of the rest of the menu.

The stars are for the food-sushi was great! The service-from the snotty greet at the door to the raspy voiced server, who while knowledgeable, clearly had plans & saw our table as something she had to get through as quickly as possible-cleared plates with food on them&threw dishes into bustub beside our table-to the complete lack of professionalism exhibited by the FOH staff chatting at the host desk-was awful!

We went here for my company holiday party. It was AMAZING!!! We started with some sake and sushi at the bar tops. The sushi was killer!! We got the rainbow roll, caterpillar roll, dragon roll, tiger roll and snow roll and a few others. I loved them all!!!! Then our group headed to the hibachi table. Since I know it is a lot of food my husband and I decided to split a meal and add a side. They charge $7 to split but you each get the miso soup, salad and fried rice. For our main course we got the filet mignon and lobster with a side of scallops. The marinade was AMAZING. You get one shrimp as a started, other places I have been never do one, so that surprised me for the appetizer. The dressing on the salad was soooo good too. The whole meal was really great. Would definitely go back for both again! And they have a full service bar and Kirin on draft and Sapporo in the bottle.

Went to keystone for some boarding this past weekend and while in town, was having a massive craving for sushi. Called around and checked on yelp to see what places were open this early in the winter season and found this place. This place is in a shopping center. It's divided into two parts - one for hibachi and the other side for sushi. I will be reviewing for sushi since that's what I had. Also, this place is Chinese owned (I could hear them talking) so just a head's up.. If I were to eat at a sushi joint not run/owned by Japanese, I'd at least settle for Korean owned - they do a decent job. It had a lounge vibe to it and decor was cute. The only thing i didn't like was that they were playing some pretty explicit music that had all the curse words in it - AND yes, there were children dining there as well. Shocked. Service: was ok, I definitely agree with other reviewers that said the serving style was "mountain" style. Very casual, didn't bother me. The only thing that bothered me was the 2 other tables that came in quite a bit after us and were served before we were! Food: I ordered the hypnotiq hot sake which I liked. They did have the 50% off sushi special for the off-season which was pretty cool. They also had a 20% off the hot sake. I ordered the tuna roll, double double roll, yellowtail sashimi, octopus sashimi and salmon roll. Visually, the sushi looked pleasing but taste-wise, it left a lot to be desired. The traditional rolls were fine, nothing great, but the special roll tasted bland for some reason. The husband ordered chicken teriyaki and he didn't like it. Some pieces were cold and some hot. Looking at it, it looked like a Chinese stir fry dish that they threw chunky sauce on and called it chicken teriyaki.... Overall, if you're in the area and no other places are open when you're having a craving, this place is ok. Just stick to the more simple rolls...

Came in a day they were offering both half price tappanyaki as well as sushi. I had the steak and shrimp combo and it was delicious.

Hands down best sushi you'll find in the mountains. Plus if you make it in before 4 or 5 (can't remember exactly) you can get the bento box, which is a decent amount of really good food for less than $10. My only complain would be is it's a bit pricey for anything else or after their specials.

Been here twice for lunch and both times it's been great other than the server's bad attitude, as someone mentioned before I don't think the servers care if you're here or not! but the food is amazing, we also had a roll of sushi called phoenix and it was great!

Great sushi menu! Went Tgiving weekend which is apparently still the off season so our sushi was 50% off! Good sake selection and happy hour deals.

Good sushi a bit pricey one piece of fatty tuna costs $8 the rolls were good and more fairly priced. Good service.

Great sushi for being in the mountains. 5 stars when they have 2-for-1 deals

Hands down best sushi you'll find in the mountains. Plus if you make it in before 4 or 5 (can't remember exactly) you can get the bento box, which is a decent amount of really good food for less than $10. My only complain would be is it's a bit pricey for anything else or after their specials.

    (2)

Stopped here for some takeout sushi and was informed we wouldn't receive the 50% discount for takeout! What?!? Are you kidding me. I guess the intent is to loose business rather than appease the customer. Oh well. Your loss.

  • Drea V.

By far the best Sushi in summit county! It's actually run and rolled by Japanese unlike the other places in town. The fried rice is to die for and hands down the only true flavorful hot and sour soup! Only thing preventing 5 stars is the staff, high turnover and you can wait a long time for your server.
