This used to be a breakfast place they turned it into a oriental restaurant and didn't do a bad job with the atmosphere on a budget. I agree with the comments about the soup being thick at times egg drop and s & s the won ton soup is great though the food always tastes great, fresh and hot. the service needs to pick up the pace every time i go in for lunch i get my food/ drink out fast then they ignore me until i have to stop someone for service. sometimes the employees are sitting in the back eating lunch even the waiters serving its very unacceptable I love the food though very yummy but customer service goes along way get your shit together. This could be a great place if it wasn't slacking on customer service

Some friends took us here who are regulars. They said one time they were eating when the health inspector came, who then stayed and ate. A good sign of kitchen cleanliness! Decent food with good service. Curry chicken was average. Hot and sour soup was too thick. Please cut back on the cornstarch. I saw their meals offered steamed or fried rice. Yet, I asked if brown rice was available. They said yes, but when it came it was definitely fried rice. It took two authentic Chinese waitresses to explain that white rice which is fried equals brown rice. I guess they've never heard of real brown rice. Colored white rice doesn't equal real brown rice! Nevertheless, it remained on my plate as a tribute to their laughable ignorance.

Preposterously extensive menu, which made it that much more frustrating when our server couldn't recommend anything in particular. "What are you in the mood for?" I hate that. Plus, I told him I basically don't eat meat, but that I might be in the mood for a seafood dish, and he so helpfully informed me, "That means you're not a vegetarian." I know. I ended up ordering a Kung Pao vegetables dish (which wasn't on the menu exactly) and egg drop soup. Both were good, standard Chinese. The egg drop soup came with crispy fried Chinese noodles on top, which I found a little strange. And the zucchini and the baby corns in my vegetable entree tasted strangely freezer-burned, which wasn't so good. Everything else was good, though, (anything with peanuts has got my vote) and was a fantastic deal for the price-- about $10 for a whole lot of food.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Colorado! The cream cheese wontons are one of my favorite things to eat there. Janet was especially nice and took great care of me and my family. The chef, Bobby, makes some of the best orange chicken!! He is SO friendly! I also like the earthy bamboo decor. The waterfalls inside are a nice touch.

The food is fresh, the veggies are sautéed perfectly (cooked but still crunchy), and the meat is tender and flavorful. The wonton soup and egg drop soup are wonderful as well, just as fresh and flavorful (and obviously homemade!) as everything else. The portions are large and well priced. Our dinner meals included rice and soup, and were just under $10/each. We had take-out; the man that answered the phone was polite, our food was ready on time and packaged nicely. We will definitely be back, Chin Chin!

Nice place for a date night, or if you have friends or family coming into town. Not perfect oriental food, but one of the best in the valley. Reasonable prices and good portion size.

By far the best Chinese in the valley! The service is friendly and the place is always very clean. We never skip the Fried Cheese Wonton's or The Hot and Sour Soup! Although their salad consists of simple iceberg lettuce and a few carrots their, citrusy, house dressing is quite tasty. Our two favorite entrees are the Combination Lo Mein and the Spicy Beef. As previous reviewer mentioned, it is salty, but we do not find it to be 'over the top.' Amongst other favorites are the Spicy Shrimp, Orange Chicken, and the Thai Pineapple Chicken. My only complaints: As good as their Chinese food is, with the exception of their Thai Pineapple Chicken, their other "Thai" dishes are not good at all. The atmosphere leaves A LOT to be desired, so we normally get takeout, and they do not have a Children's menu and cannot order half portions.

Moved to GJ about 1 1/2 years ago and we've struggled to find great Chinese food. This place isn't great but it's the best we've found so far. My husband enjoyed the egg foo young. I got the general chicken. Wasn't spicy at all. The dumplings are huge, which for me is a negative. Too much doughy outside which takes away from the deliciousness inside. We will continue the search for the elusive great Chinese food but this establishment will suffice until we find it.

The last time we were in was a disappointment, we ordered chicken lo mein, which was good; general tsao's chicken, which was good; sweet and sour chicken, which was okay; we also ordered spicy beef which on this day they should call salty beef, it was bad. We also ordered cream cheese wonton, but they never brought them to us, even though they put them on our bill. We got this corrected with ease, but that isn't something a diner should have to deal with.

Pretty average Chinese food but presented beautifully and by extremely friendly waitstaff. Our kids loved the Chicken Lo Mein and the soups were pretty tasty. Clean environment and decently priced. We would definitely come back.

The ONLY place we go for quality Chinese food in Grand Junction. Veggies are always fresh and meats are never fatty or stringy. Dinning in is great, but we mostly do take out. No matter how large our order is they always say 15 mins and I have NEVER had to wait once I arrive. Will continue to frequent this place. Only complaint I have is that we are not fond of the egg rolls...taste is just too much cabbage and not enough other ingredients, but that is a personal thing. Keep up the great work Chin Chin!

Could Clifton, Colorado have a five star Chinese restaurant? Could Selma Hayek suddenly realize that we were meant to be together? Anything's possible, right? I am the eternal optimist. I REALLY wanted to believe the first two five star reviews (one got filtered). I love Chinese food so I pretty much had to do what any Yelper worth his soy sauce would do and make a visit. It's in a strip mall, but I've had wonderful meals in strip mall restaurants so that didn't put me off. The decor was beyond nondescript but I'll give it a shot anyway; Wendy's circa 1985, complete with fake oak formica tables and vinyl padded booths, and not much else except dim lighting. Nary an effort to look Asian. But I'm OK with that if the food is great. See, I'm still optimistic. Amazing isn't it? I had Moo Shoo Pork, and hot and sour soup. The soup was pretty good. Maybe too much corn starch but not bad at all. The Moo Shoo was not good. I was hungry so I made one small wrap and called it a light meal. The veggies were tired and overcooked. The pork was chewy and flavorless. The bean curd sauce tasted straight out of a bottle and was way too sweet. The service was very good and the people that work here are pleasant and courteous. When I order take out from Zen my leftovers magically disappear from the fridge the next day if the kids are around. About a pound of this stuff got tossed after two days. This dream has died, but I'm still not ruling out the Selma Hayek thing.

This IS the best Asian food restaurant here in Grand Junction. The owner, chef and his wife make every effort to please. I try to eat here about once a week. The food is consistantly good, and the prices are fair. The portion is good also. My favorites are their Jalapeno and Chicken and the Twice Cooked Pork. But most all of the other dishes I have tried have been very good. Try their lemon dressing for your salad, very tangy. I have tried most all of the other Asian restaurants here and this is the only one I go to. I absolutely recomend that you come here and sample the best in town.

Thank you yelp for this one! I had an inexpensive delicious lunch after hiking. We ate every bit of it. What a great Chinese restaurant. I'll be back!

This place really is the best oriental food in town, I have come here each time I come back to visit family. I would recommend getting their sampler bowl if you are going in a group, also their Chin Chin Special Beef is out of this world. The staff is always helpful, and there casual but quite atmosphere is great for taking family or friends . I'm happy to go there again. : )

Visiting from MT. Really liked it. Very fresh. Fried cheese wantons superb. Salad plain, get soup. My mom loves the egg drop soup here. She ordered the Walnut Shrimp, it was super tasty. Jumbo shrimp, plenty walnuts and the sauce is unique creamy sweet sauce. I had Mongolian beef/chicken teriyaki combo. Great presentations. Fried rice made to order not sitting in a cooker. Meats cooked perfect. Mongolian beef is mild I would ask for spicy Mongolian if I could have a do over. Ambiance was enjoyable after a ho-hum first impression. Think I just added another chin chin.

This is hands down the best Chinese/Asian food in the Grand Junction area. Bobby and Linda (the owners) run a tight ship and you could walk into their kitchen any day of the week and not have any unpleasant surprises! It is clean and Bobby is a wonderful cook! Favorites include their roast duck (call ahead a day), Wor Wonton soup, cream cheese wontons, Spicy Beef, and anything special that Bobby wants to cook for you!

Probably the best Chinese food in GJ, even if they are really Vietnamese! Fast service, reasonable prices, good selection. It has quiet private seating unlike the feed lot experience at the International Buffett at 25rd and I70 Business Loop! I prefer small more intimate restaurants like Chin Chin to large noisy buffets.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
