Short version: Best burgers I've ever had. I'd never heard of Five Guys before some coworkers dragged me to one. Instantly hooked. It's almost as if someone took an In'n'Out burger, and altered it so that actual edible food was served. And not just edible. Superlative. Food is cooked to order, so expect to wait a few minutes, but that wait time allows the nice people who prepare your delicious order to get your complicated toppings order ready. And the selection of burger toppings is just amazing. First, there's no extra charge, even if you ask for sauteed mushrooms or other high-end additions. Second - did I mention sauteed mushrooms? There's also fried onions, relish, A-1 Steak sauce, and a host of other yummy things. The portions are enormous. Unless you are a very hearty eater, or want to split your meal with someone, get the small version of everything. The french fries are also delicious, as well as copious. The burgers themselves are just about perfect. Juicy, with just the right amount of grease to be tasty, but not gross. I can't make a hamburger this good at home. I've had burgers at pretty expensive specialty houses, that don't hold a candle to these. Smashburger can't even compare. The Vortex in Atlanta is competitive, but doesn't win. Expect to pay about seven bucks for the "regular" (i.e. huge) bacon cheeseburger, and a couple dollars less for the mini burger (which is hard for me to finish). But that's less than I'm used to paying for hamburgers of much lower quality. I give my complete endorsement.

First time at this location and i brought the wife for her first time. loved it. Had a regular cheeseburger w/bbq sauce, onions, mushrooms, jalepenos, lettuce, and some other goodies. ordered a regular fry which was more than enough for two people. The burger was great, wife liked her's as well. Will have to remember to order a junior size one next time as the double-patty on the regular burger is quite a lot of food. TIP: if you're rolling solo DO NOT order a regular size fry, way too much for one person. Also, all regular burgers are 2 patties. that's an adequate amount of food. Good location with plenty of competition nearby (Smashburger, Larkburger...). The restaurant was a little out-of-sorts, it was a friday night just after dinner so it looked a little razzled (dirty floors...) but the service was good and timely. line was very short to order.

Really good burgers, really good fries. (That's 5 stars for burgers & fries fast food category; it's not exactly a foi gras place.) I and my wife went there for lunch in the second week of this location's operation. By the way, their walls proclaim that this is a nationwide chain, with locations from Florida to Oregon. The place was packed. The grill area behind the order stations was also packed with cooks & helpers; hard to see how anybody could breathe there, much less move and make a burger. Nevertheless they manage, and do so really well. I had the regular, meaning double meat, cheeseburger and my wife had the small = single meat hamburger. Asked for mine "with everything, plus jalapenos." Their menu board lists about 20 toppings, all no extra charge, and "everything" means the first 10 of them. Jalapenos are in the second rank. I have to say this is the first time I've ever received food that looked just like the picture in an ad: Absolutely piled high. The meat was super flavorful, cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. My only complaint is that there weren't many jalapenos, but it really didn't matter. Other entree possibilities include a veggie burger, hot dogs, grilled cheese, and a few other things I don't recall. We shared a large order of home-made fries, also extremely flavorful. I really enjoyed them, and I'm not usually a fry guy. A sign on the wall indicated where today's batch of potatoes came from. (In this case, somewhere in Oregon.) We were advised that the large size for fries was appropriate for two people. Overestimate. We would have been satisfied with a small. Price: 1 regular (double) cheeseburger, one small (single) hamburger, large fries, one soda (I had water): $15.76 before tax. ($17.05 with tax) Service - well, it's fast food, so recalibrate what "service" means to that. On that scale, it's very good. You make your order, then wait for them to call your number so you can grab your bag. (Always a bag.) (Burgers are in double aluminum foil to stay warm.) The wait was short; it's not like grabbing a heatlamped McD burger, but clearly not much longer than it takes to fling down and cook a burger. If you're easily bored and can't take that much of a wait, there's a bag of free peanuts in shells available for you to scoop some out into a little paper dish and play with while you're waiting. This is a very welcome addition to this corner of the Denver suburbs. It has completely crossed Larkburger, down the street, off our list. I'd have added that it also beats out Smashburger (10 min away), since for me it does, but my wife isn't sure about that.

I am very happy with the burgers and hot dogs served at Five Guys (I've been there four times in the last three months). The burgers are never greasy or dry and the toppings are all really good! This place is reminiscent of Paul's Famous Burgers (in Milford, CT). I grew up going to Paul's every summer for burgers. While Five Guys still is not as good as Paul's, it's the closest I've found. They have a simple menu (burgers, fries and hotdogs) but I don't think it would hurt to add milkshakes! That is the one thing I feel they are missing. I have never dined in (only take out). Partly because Five Guys can get very noisy, crowded and messy (you can get free peanuts while you wait for your food so often there are peanut shells all over the floor)! Don't let the peanut mess deter you...it can get messy...but this place is not dirty! Customer service is always good - I have not run into a rude worker yet. There is usually a line for Five Guys so you may have to wait a few minutes for your order (the wait is never very long anyway). Not a good place to go if you are in a hurry but if you have a few moments to spare, I recommend it!

Been there twice since they opened and both times I've been very impressed with their service. Using their app for the iphone is also very efficient and easy (tip: use their app to order 5-10 min before you're going to get there and your food will be waiting for you! skip the line!!). Burgers are great, staff goes above and beyond, and you can't beat the value or freshness. Only thing I've never been a fan of is their fries. Some people think their fries are the best though, and I've eaten at numerous ones on the east coast, I've just never been a fan (never crispy enough for me despite five guys using high quality potatoes). Either way, I still love this place and am glad we have one closer to Denver now.

Wicked good burgers, friendly staff, my only observable criticism was the peanut shells on the floor and some minor tidying issues.

I have been here twice the first time for lunch and it was great. I went back with the family for dinner and it was kinda blah. The Cajun fries are good...the burgers are good...not great. I prefer Smashburger.

I went to a 5 Guys in Rhode Island and I wasn't that impressed. I thought I'd give it another try in the mountains. It was a tad bit better than I remember. It's not bad, I just don't think it's as amazing as everyone raves about. I'd rather eat thousands of calories elsewhere.

I don't really understand all the fuss, to greasy for my tastes, not to mention my health.

First of all I should say I grew up in Northern Virginia where the ORIGINAL Five Guys is. I used to go there all the time! They have the best burgers! Today I went to the new one in Broomfield and it left something to be desired. The place was packed. First I had to wait in a long line to order, then I had to wait a long time for the food. Now, I should qualify this statement by saying I have no problem with wait times. Good food takes time- that's why I went to five guys for lunch instead of McDonald's. But when I got the food I wasn't all that impressed. The burger was still pretty great, but the fries were pretty nasty. They use fresh cut potatoes (boardwalk style) and they were definitely a big fail. They tasted like they were left in the frier just long enough to warm up a little, so they were basically just a limp, greasy mess. When you want a burger and fries, it just doesn't work if one is sub standard. They fill your bag to overflowing with fries but I would rather they take a little extra time, fry them properly, and give me a reasonable serving. Quality over quantity you know? The kicker is that it cost 11 bucks for the whole deal. I would definitely go back but not until they figure out how to fry fries properly. I mean, this is like burger joint 101 here guys! Update: I went back like I said I was going to and the fries were MUCH improved. I don't know if it was because they were less busy or because people complained but I am officially upgrading my review from a 2 star to a 4. The original Five Guys in VA gets a 5 star because there is nothing like the original :)

I am visiting my family here in Broomfield and my cousin suggested this place for lunch. She has eaten here before and I trust her judgement. I was not disappointed!!! The burger was gigantic and she suggested we share a small order of fries. We were both STUFFED and there was still half the order in the bag. I loved the drink selection--it's very rare that I drink a soda, but I just had to try a vanilla coke. It's very loud in there, but the music they play really fits the atmosphere, and the employees were very upbeat and charming. (I didn't realize they were a major chain, with locations in my homestate of California)

  • Jessica D.

always a notch up from all the other fast food burger joints. The soda selection machine is a kid favorite, since there is such variety in mixing and flavors. The portions are huge, so the junior sizes are just perfect! The fries are also in big portions so you can share a small with someone. The food is cooked when the order is placed so it's always hot and fresh. This location has great outdoor seating and minimal space inside, considering the volume of patrons. The staff is always chipper and quick and I've never had a bad experience with food or service at a Five Guys, I highly recommend this when you are wanting a burger on the go, but not willing to compromise for a BK or McD's. The bacon was perfect in amount and crispness as well!

  • Michael R.

If you like over-priced, greasy burgers and fries, then this is the place for you. Be aware that the regular burger has 2 patties, even though it doesn't say that anywhere on the menu. Not overly impressed, but might give it another try some day.

I think one of the reasons this place is always ranked top 1, 2 or 3 burger places in the country consistently is that the burgers come with only the toppings you want. I think that is a good thing. The consistency from location to location is perfect. You get the same exact burger here as you do anywhere else. The bacon is a little too crispy for me. I usually opt out. I get a double "all the way." I also ask for cajun seasoning on the side for my burger. It's just a basic burger, but they do it right. I don't know why they don't salt and pepper the burgers. Even McDonald's does it. That's definitely not enough to knock a star off. There is salt and pepper available at the condiment station. The fries is what sets this place apart the most. They train their employees thoroughly about the science of frying a potato. Notice that there are no timers, but the fries are perfect every time. As a food science freak, I really appreciate that. Always soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. From some ridiculous reason, they use peanut oil in their fryers. It is cholesterol free. On the other hand, it is very very expensive compared to soybean oil. This must be very frustrating to franchise owners trying to watch their food cost. It provides no flavor benefit and alienates people with peanut allergies. Neither point affects me, so still 5 stars. Love the open kitchen. Keeps the cooks honest. The dining room is always clean. As are the restrooms. Great atmosphere and music. Lively staff. I am a huge fan.

For my money, there is no better burger than Five Guys. That's saying a lot, I realize, but these folks have truly mastered the basic, made-to-order hamburger/cheeseburger. From the quality of the beef to the fresh toppings to the way it's presented (without pretense, and wrapped in foil), it's simply great. The copious amount of tasty fries you receive in a regular order (more than enough for two to share) isn't bad either and the fresh potatoes compliment the fresh burgers nicely. So, is this place healthy? Hell no, it's burgers and fries! But if that's what you're in the mood for - a top quality, delicious burger at a fair price - then you've got to check out Five Guys!

Burgers are good, but they committed a cardinal sin when they forgot the bacon on both burgers we ordered...

i was excited to try this place out now that it's semi-close to work. There's nothing like a good burger for lunch now and then. So..I wandered into 5 guys one day. No frills, just burgers and fries which is nice. I should have known that the burger was going to be greasy from the nearly translucent brown paper bag given to me. Sopped with grease I opened the bag up to a delicious looking burger and 5 potatoes worth of french fries. First bite, not bad..cheesy, meat was good... But as I was finishing this heart attack I began to dislike it more and more. The amount of grease in the burger sops through everything. The burger falls apart and you're left with a mess and 45 dirty napkins. I can't see myself going back with Lark Burger around the corner. If you enjoy fair food then this is your place.

  • John S.

This place is always tasty! They do taken but to cook your burger, but it's always medium well and they give you WAY more fries than you ask for. Have never once had a problem here, other than it being busy.

They get two stars for speed, but my order was wrong. When I got there they were reopening my burger to add the grilled jalepenos. I got home (15 min drive) and my burger was missing the hot sauce. Not worth a drive back. I ordered a regular cajun fry since unplanned on sharing with my fiance, but I should have got a large. The cup was barely full and then at the bottom of the bag is a small sprinkling of fries. I finished my burger and all my fries and I am still hungry (normally a burger and small fry is too much). Good thing my fiance doesn't like their fries and won't be too disappointed there aren't any left. But damn... $3.79 for a small fry?!

This almost hurts to write as they usually are great but they cut me deep on this one. Stopped grabbed a double bacon with fries and jalapenos. My wife got the same minus the jalapenos. I Ended up getting pickles Now seeing Im allergic I couldnt eat it. I called expecting an apology and the manager to put my name on a list or get an email for next time or something as this happened before at another location which was happy to reaolve the issue but the manager seemed very direct and instructed to come back. Now Im no CEO but I am a busy guy and honestly due to the so called managers approach didnt even want to. Thanks but no thanks. I guess my 20+ dollars isnt appreciated or welcome here.

I finally got around to trying a Five Guys, and I must say, I don't see what all the hubbub is about. It was an ok burger, I guess, but the meat was overcooked and the freakin' thing costs almost $10 bucks. For my money, I'd much rather spend a bit more and get a Red Robin burger or even a Smashburger.

Okay let me give you a little rundown of this place.....If you like greasy, fatty, heart attack waiting to happen burgers?.. Then this is the place for you! I've been here several times, especially since it near where I live and I like how they offer peanuts if you eat inside. What I don't like is that they don't have a DRIVE thru? What's up w/that? When they first opened I think I checked yelp to see if they had one and it said they did. Silly me instead of calling to verify, I drove their in well...just socks, and mis matching sleep wear. We've all got those days. hahaha... I think?..hmmm... Cheese B. w/the works - ooooooo, ahhhhhhhh, perfect for those days you don't care about what you put in your body. Fries- well they taste fresh and good if you eat them in there, but for take out, I'd say ...NEVER get them because it's like all soggy and nasty when someone brings it home to you... But I still ate it anyways.. I eat anything.. put a little ketchup and garlic salt, and it's Da bomb..lol So that's basically it, all their burgers whether you get them loaded or not, taste the same and taste pretty good.. BUt warning be in the mood for greasyness.

Probably my favorite location. Staff always pleasant if not always quick but there is actual outdoor seating and the location has one of those mix your own coke machines. Wish they had built it with a larger dining room - peak rush periods can be crowded and you can be hovering waiting for a table to open up. Excellent quality foods here - and as I tell people in all my reviews of Five Guys - order small. The Junior is 1 patty and the regular is 2. Same goes for fries - small feeds 1 and large feeds 2-3. Highly recommended.

What can I say amazing! I first tried five guy burgers in Longmont about three years ago as a friend from work showed me. The quality and the taste was amazing! So when I found out they had opened a new store closer to home in West Minister, needless to say I was thrilled! We gave it a shot, and we were not disappointed! This place has the consistency as every other 5 Guys Burgers I have eaten at. This place I choose over smash burger, any day of the week!

My two favorite burger places in the Broomfield area are 5 guys and Larkburger. I love the gourmet taste at Larkburger. But when you have to get that straight up taste of meat, cheese, and bread this is the place. It doesn't hurt that I also love the fries. I can see why they are the favorite burger in most cities where I travel. There isn't much else to say. They have taken the #1 new rule in food and run with it. That is to do one (or a very few) thing and do it exceptionally well. The service is always friendly and the food is consistently great.

We've driven by many Five Guys restaurants and we finally stopped last evening. It was an hour before closing and the place was spotless. The restrooms were the cleanest we've seen at most restaurants and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. We told the assistant manager, Tina, that we had never eaten there and she proceeded to give us the grand tour of the menu. When we asked if they had fry sauce she said no but offered to make us some of her own recipe. We had the cajun fries and the combination was devine. I ordered their "little" cheeseburger which is much more than other burger joints and is well worth the $4.99 price. The burger is more like one I've had at Carl's Junior or Smash Burger. Use two hands and if you get all the toppings in black on the menu then some will be on your hands and foil wrap for sure. The fresh cut fries are apparently made from a special potato and they were delicious. All together, my wife and I spent $17.70 and couldn't finish our meal. We'll be making this one of our weekly stops whenever we feel like burgers.

Giving 4 stars to a burger place seems wrong, yet when I crave a burger, this is the place I want to go. Online ordering, pick up and dine in have all worked out well, and I've never been disappointed with the food. Burgers are great -- I would say better than Smashburger or Mooyah. The (looks like fresh-cut) Cajun fries are a good choice if you like spicy, and they go great with the burgers that are made to your specifications (and I am pleased to say they've gotten the order right every time). This location is often busy, but we've never waited longer than a few minutes to place or pick up an order. Seems pretty efficient. Interesting business model with the logo appearing only on the drink cups (grocery store napkins, plain brown paper bags, aluminum foil is used to wrap the burgers), and with the prices at the high end of the higher end burger joints, I'd have to say this business is doing rather well. One final note, and this contributes a bunch to the fourth star: the cooking staff here (visible to the customer) are preparing food with gloves and are following other safe food handling guidelines by leaving their jewelry at home. It's becoming the exception, but it sure is appreciated by this diner.

This was an interesting place. Very loud and the over numerous amount of employees jumping around behind the counter was a little off putting and distracting the food was decent and the peanuts was an unique touch.

Food was fresh and hot. Staff very friendly and helpful!!! A little pricey!! Make sure you know little burgers are one patty and burgers are two pattys!!

flat out the best cheese burger in town, if you going with someone else just order 1 fries, they are huge enough to share. They also have that soda Machine that you can add flavors too. Free peanuts are a nice touch.

  • Amanda M.

The burger was a little greasy and took a really long time to get our order. The restaurant was very loud due to the music. There was a lot of staff and it wasn't busy but took 20 minutes to get our food! Also my fries weren't cooked all the way.

    (2)
  • Sarah V.

I had never been here before and I wanted to see what all of the hype was about. The burger was just fine, nothing spectacular, but it was better than the average fast food burger for sure. The fries were pretty good too, but a word to the wise, their fry portions are HUGE! If you are eating there I *think* they do fry refills because someone was going around asking if people needed more fries, we didn't because we had ordered enough for an army. I wish the girl at the counter would have told us that the large is enough for a few people, we wouldn't have ordered so much. We ended up spending a lot, but all of the fries had something to do with that.

Omigosh, Five Guys is going to become my new guilty pleasure. I stopped in with the younger minion a couple of weeks ago. We've driven by the place on the way home from school a few times and decided it was a good day to try them out. Five Guys keeps it simple: burgers, fries, drinks. Burgers are cooked to order and are huge! No kiddie meals. A 'regular' burger is two quarter pound patties! Pricey, but you get a ton of food! We got two 'little' burgers (single quarter pound patties), two drinks, and a regular fry. Minion scoffed because he wanted his own fry, but Mom knew best. We noshed on free peanuts and chatted with the staff who are SO friendly! Burgers are cooked to order, so we got to see our food being made. When the staffer handed over our greasy, plain white bag, Minion's eyes got huge! The burger was the size of his head, and their regular fry was pretty much half the bag. We had more than enough for the two of us, and our burgers were divine! Minion conceded he was full 3/4 way through his quarter pound of beefy goodness. I need an excuse to go back, but I feel like Louis CK at Thanksgiving dinner after eating here. Maybe I can just stop in for a 'little' fry and Coke Zero?

I have had 5 guys burgers up and down the East Coast and not sure what to say about the one in Broomfield. It was still tasty and I loved the toppings which come in abundance as you tend to pick up yummy burger droppings from the wrapper.. However it was just missing that extra something, that really super bite or taste that sets a 5 Guys burger above the crowd. I have been their twice and both times were the same. Perhaps I will blame the newness for now but if I go back a third time and I get a similar burger then they will be 2 stars which just doesnt seem right for what is a pretty tasty burger every where else... So more to come after the third time up to bat :) Comon 5 Guys.. I am cheering for you! Steve

It's alright. Too salty of Fries & too greasy of burger patties. No chicken options. The vegetarian sandwich was nothing to write home about. Grilled cheese sandwich was good, but the bread was too oily.

First time to a Five Guys. The place was cool & the staff was super friendly but can't say I was too impressed with the food. Burger was nothing special, fries were ok. Guess I'm just an in-n-out girl at heart.

I really enjoy Five Guys. It's always fresh, busy, and you get so much food for your money. I took my boyfriend here for his first time but I'm sure it won't be his last

Big greasy tasty burgers with everything on 'em. If that's what you're looking for, Five Guys is the place. This location is very consistent with food quality. Everyone is friendly. It's often busy so the wait can be a while longer than fast food. Not the cheapest burger but they are big and good. Greasy and sloppy (in a good way but the burgers and buns tend to fall apart on the last few bites).

These guys are different from other burger joints in that they deserve style points for nostalgia along with the use of potato sacks as aisle dividers. The classic, retro feel adds a welcome element of fun to the iconic Americana that is: burgers&fries. Their cheese burger alone is a delicious, massive caloric blast with a quotient of grease to satisfy anyone itchin' for a coronary challenge, but their FRIES rival all competitors. Loyalists to other more well known chains will tout that clown, king and adorable red heads know a thing or two about fries, but in my humble opinion, FGBF does that bit slightly better. You can taste their fresh cut goodness without missing out on the second helping of grease that lends crispness and flavor to a "side" that deserves to be an entree (in Large size). The burgers are fine, but the fries are what will draw me back for future visits. Here's to keeping cardiologists in business.

After a year of allowing them to get past their grand opening pains, I decided to give this place one more try. The burger was absolutely fantastic, but their fries are beyond disgusting. I even asked them to give them an extra bit of time, and they still came out limp and undercooked. They taste the same as if I had dropped some fresh cooked fries under a heat lamp for 10 minutes, but I watched them pull them straight from the fryer. Not sure how to get the message across to them that the fries need to be cooked.

Seems weird giving 4 stars to a burger chain but they deserve it. Sure the burgers are good but this location has excellent customer service. I placed a web order several hours before it was to be picked up. I walked in exactly at the time it was to be ready and they were bagging it as I approached the pick up counter. Bam in and out with extra napkins, we ate it on the golf course.

I love this place! I have eaten at this location, Boulder and Longmont. All of them have been wonderful! My boyfriend and I share a regular Cajun fry when we go, there is a lot of them so I would not really suggest eating them alone. The service has always been good and everyone has always been very friendly.

My son and I stopped by here over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe it was the endorphins since we had just come from working out at the gym but this was a wonderful experience. We almost turned around and left as soon as we walked in because it was so busy. But I'm glad we decided to stay. Even though there were like 30 people in front of us, we ordered our burgers and they were ready before we could even find a table and sit down. We got the doubles a cheeseburger for me hamburger for the boy, & I rank them very high. Among one of the best burgers I've had anywhere. The floors very well swept, the customers were well behaved, cashiers cooks and everyone else very nice and polite. Having lived a good chunk of my life in the sales and like most Americans consider myself a hamburger joint aficionado, but I have longed for a good burger joint since I came to Colorado. I've tried the Steak and Shakes around here but for whatever reason they haven't panned out here. But Five Guys is a winning combination. This is what Steak and Shake is trying to be.

If you are a fan of the Classic American hamburger you gotta get in here! One of the very best burgers I have savored! There are many topping options to choose from, staff is friendly, fries are killer. They have the amazing 300 ways to make a soft drink Coke dispenser and rock n roll on the sound system. You know you wanna!

This place is absolutely off the charts, my favorite burger joint in town. And I love me a good burger.

The burgers were fabulous. Fries were out of this world. The only down side was the Music. It was so loud we could not hear when ordering. Could easily cause hearing loss. Turn down the music and it would rate a five stars.

Thumbs down. Below average burger, soggy fries. Many better choices out there for fast food.
