What a terrible experience! We made a reservation two weeks in advance for Father's Day brunch. We specifically requested the small private room that seats 7 because my father is ill and we wanted to spend quality time with him without the chaos of other diners on such a busy day. Our reservation was at 11:30, yet they sat a family at the reserved table at 10:30, so it is no wonder the family wasn't out by the time we arrived. The owner was SO RUDE to us about it. Making us feel like we were being unreasonable for wanting them to hold up their end of the reservation. Finally after a half hour of waiting we abandoned the private room and sat in the very loud dining room. It took them AN HOUR to bring out our food. Two plates came out ice cold (who wants to eat cold eggs??). They forgot half of someone's meal and once reminded, everyone was done eating by the time it was delivered. We had to get up and find our own ketchup after asking the waiter 3 times to bring it with no success. The food was mediocre at best and the owner even come over to the table mid meal to condescendingly ask us if we were "better now". I recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs...

The decor is a bit outdated but the steaks and the service makes up for it. We have been going to the Summit for sometime and the Cowboy Ribeye melts in your mouth and for a special occassion have the Chateau Briand delish! It is for a special occassion for sure. The manager Chris always stops by to make sure the food is served to perfection. Let me give a shout out to Casey and Jim our bartenders who always make sure your glass is full! Stop for the great happy hours and stay for the fantastic food.

Food was mediocre. I had the ahi salad...the ahi was overdone, although I'd specified to be sure to just sear...was also very bland. Yes, I should have sent it back, but I was joining a friend for his birthday and didn't want to make him uncomfortable. The escargot was nothing special. My friend's rib and chicken platter was not presented in a particularly appealing manner, but there was definitely a lot of food on the plate. I can't think of a good reason to go back, although if they truly do have $6.50 pours of 15 year old Macallan, then I could be convinced to go back for for happy hour!

This is a peculiar place in a grittier part of suburban south Denver. Obviously this joint was the schiznitz in say, 1990. Today it hangs on like a cat on a curtain. The service was swift and kindly, the dining room is dated but well kept. The sexy hostess had all the right smile. But the food just wasn't quite right. To be fair, my wife loved her meal,, but my New York strip was so laced with fat and gristle it was nearly inedible. I am always rooting for independent businesses to thrive. But based on this experience and due to the plethora of great dining choices in Denver, I won't be back.

I'm not sure how the Summit steakhouse stays in business. I have been there before on Saturday nights for the entertainment and dancing. It is a perfectly acceptable place for that -although the crowd is a bit older. Saturday night I went with two friends of mine for a pre-concert dinner. I ordered shrimp scampi that came with linguine. The shrimp came placed over a small dish of yellow colored oil. It tasted like boiled shrimp and it couldn't have been butter because it was an unnatural color and had no flavor. The pasta was completely without flavor and it had julienned carrots and sliced zucchini on top (like pasta Primavera). I was expecting shrimp scampi to be garlicky and buttery over a flavorful pasta. Not even close. My friend gave me some of her ribeye steak. She ordered it cooked medium and it was definitely rare. Very gristly and fatty. Also without any flavor at all. The dinners were VERY pricey. Prices that you would expect at a good steakhouse but certainly not for this less than mediocre dining experience. Bleh, don't bother going here.

My husband and I went to The Summit House for the first time two weeks ago and are still talking about what a nice evening we had. It was a bit of a drive from Highlands Ranch, but WELL WORTH IT!!!!! After sitting in the lounge, listening to a great piano player and having drinks, we decided to stay and have dinner. We both had the filet mignon- BEST steak either of us have had. We also eat at other high-end steak houses and this steak was amazing compared to the others. I had the twice baked potato which melted in my mouth while my husband enjoyed the fully loaded baked potato! We finished dinner off with raspberry sorbet and were so satisfied!!! We will be going back to The Summit House very soon!!!

I have been here for a romantic dinner with my wife, and casual lunches with friends, the Summit NEVER Disappoints. Food is top notch, service is great, and they have a terrific patio. Place is Clean and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I have been to some high end restaurants where the staff never smiles and are very cold. I have not experienced that at the Summit. It is a place where you feel like they really do appreciate your business and that is unfortunately hard to find now days. I highly recommend it.

The place was awesome. Decor was updated and the service phenomenal! But the food was terrific. Beef was delish!!! I'll definitely go here again.

I would definitely go back. Great decor, good atmosphere, very friendly staff. French onion soup was great, and the other diners at my table all raved about the salad being Delicious! Tried the spinach artichoke dip, and my only complaint was that it didn't come with enough bread/crackers, but they were happy to bring more. Good wine selection, enjoyed a couple new ones that were suggested. My Chateaubriand was awesome. Melt in your mouth good. Garlic mashed were divine as well. Definitely a good choice for dinner!

Food was great! Waitress was ok, not very attentive, didn't clear dirty dishes, a little slow but friendly.

Rolled in after a happy hour at The Stampede for some cocktails and non-country music. As we walked in, the fantastic cover band was playing Montel Jordan's "This is How We Do It". Yes, it is! Ha ha. We were dancing before we even made it to the bar. Unfortunately, the clientele was a bit stuffy. They seemed overly dressed for a cover band in a bar and they definitely weren't having as much fun as we were. But, the place cleared out during the band's break and we were able to get a table close to the front, near the fireplace. The drinks are PRICEY here. But, the music was good and there was no cover, so we didn't mind so much when the tabs arrived. I think we will definitely make this our "post-Stampede" spot. The music was great and drinks were cold :) It's funny how little I need to make me happy.

I'm rating this place for their happy hours. This place has the BEST happy hour deals in the area. Every drink is half off..even the top shelf liquor. Got a $20+ scotch or tequila you want to try? Get it here for half off. They specialize in martinis which are made well. They also give $3 off appetizers during HH. The crowd is older and they have a band or piano player most nights.

Old fashioned expensive low class food. Lobster was barely adequate. For the price it should have been larger and not served with a puny potato. I just don't get why there is such a following unless it's the cheesy happy hour. Kind of a barfly ambiance. Warning...warning..don't waste an evening unless forced to dine at The Summit. It is completely passe'.

We came to the Summit for the brunch special, only to find it wasn't special at all. Having enjoyed a steak here in the past we thought it was worth a try but we would have been much better off up the street at Sams #3. Todd, our server, seemed really put out by us. He didn't listen to what we were saying and ran off before we could finish our sentences. The food was gross, eggs tasted powdered and meat tasted frozen. The only saving grace was the mimosa, which was big, tasty, and reasonably priced. Needless to say we won't be back, ever.

They have very good food and a courteous staff at good prices. Between my wife and I, we've been here 3-or-4 times, including a couple of recent Thanksgivings, and it was a good experience each time.

I haven't been here in awhile and when I came in, I see they totally renovated the place. Its definitely got the classic steak house look. My wife and I went here today because of the Havana restaurant special, 2 for 25 prime rib. I really liked the decor and its nice to go to a low key steak house with some reasonable prices. That being said, the prime rib was just right but the rest of the food was a little average. You could tell the mash potatoes were a little old and the salad was not as robust as I am use to having. The other thing which might come off as nit picky was the service. The servers were friendly, but in other restaurants that present a similar brand, the service is absolutely impeccable. Case in point, as I was walking though a door, the server walked past me and squeezed through. Am I sounding snooty for expecting the server to step to the side with a smile?? Not that I am offended by any of it, just think this is part of the ambiance and brand a high end restaurant brings to the package. Second case in point, I finished my salad and left the fork on the plate. The server asked me if I wanted to keep my fork. In my head, I was like no, but I said sure. Of course once I set my fork down, there was an orange stain on the table cloth from the french dressing. Even though, I would still go back to this place. They have nice specials all the time and a brunch I intend to check out too. This is a place you to take your parents to though, not a place to have a new culinary experience.

I've been a patron of the (Aurora) Summit a few times over the past 30 years and, having recently returned to Denver from several years in downtown Chicago, I thought I would drop in for a burger. As reviewers have stated, the burgers are top shelf, the steaks properly cooked, the menu will please anyone and the happy hour is as good as it gets. I am compelled to review this time due the the most excellent service at the bar. There was a wedding party and several other patrons in the bar area-and only one bartender. She was a whirling dervish, cordial and attentive. The reason I point this out is that dine out often in the Denver area and in general I find service/attentiveness severely lacking-at some names that would surprise you. Most often I find the bartenders preoccupied with washing glasses and other thing behind the bar, seldom looking up to check on those who pay the bill. On numerous occasions I am left with food but no setup, or salt and pepper, or both. Inexcusable. But not at the Summit. I was properly greeted, served, and the manager even checked on me several times. This establishment cares about its customers and it shows. You know those 70 year olds hanging around the place? They started coming here 40 years ago and know a good thing when they see it.

The Summit isn't a high-end place... to me, it's kind of like Outback. Solid service, okay food. The prices were pretty high for what you got. They did a reasonable job of accommodating my gluten-free requests, but only checked with the "chef" after much prompting. It's a red flag for me when the server refuses to check with the chef. They personally aren't cooking the food - ingredients and preparation can change. The server MUST go out of their way for you, or you WILL get sick.

Four stars merely based on food. Steaks were excellent. My gf had the Summit strip which she enjoyed very much. I had the Filet and Coconut Shrimp which was near perfect. Au gratin potatoes were delicious and her baked potato was the size of her steak. Spinach and artichoke appetizer was excellent! Service-wise: I'd go with half a star if it was possible. Our waitress was slower than molasses, disappeared most of the 2 hour visit. My gf asked for steak sauce which was brought out as we were finishing the last bites of entrees. Drink refills(soda and tea) were non-existent. Waitress with tables on either side of us had salads and entrees on her tables by the time we were served salads, and we ordered BEFORE them! (Good waitress is named Dezi, we made sure to get her name for future visits). Checked out their website before visiting and notice upon arrival that actual menu pricing is anywhere between $3-6 more than advertised online. We had a LivingSocial certificate which we used so we only spent about $50 out of pocket, which made the service semi-tolerable as the quality of food is by far better than chain steakhouses. We will return, with a preference of wait staff most definitely!

I think people are giving The Summit a bad reputation here with there unfair expectations. If your looking for something trendy and high end this isn't the place. If your looking for a good steak and a change of scenery and prices from the Morton's and Del's of Denver give it a shot. My girlfriend and I went to The Summit Tuesday night for dinner and I was very skeptical at first. Being someone that LOVES steak and knows steak I'm very hard to impress. Just because a piece of meat is labeled prime doesn't mean it can't be ruined or prepared incorrectly. I ordered the bone in rib-eye (which is the steak lovers steak) and ordered it cajun style (their own blend of spices). I was very impressed, I gobbled up my whole steak. The steak itself was $46 and I upgraded my salad for $2. My meal was $48 and for this I received a great steak, a side of au gratin potato's which were not bad and a salad. Now If I was to order all this at Flemings or Shanahan's what I just ordered would have been in larger portions granted but would have cost me upwards of $70. The desert wasn't great (I'll skip that next time) but being able to get a whole meal with a prime bone in ribeye for less that $50 is exciting. This is a great option for someone looking to get a good steak for a FAIR price. Oh and by the way those people that are saying they've had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse or Outback aren't being fair. Just the idea of comparing a choice piece of meat to a prime piece of meat where both have been prepared correctly is absurd. I didn't give a 4 star rating because they can do some things better. The desserts can definitely be better, maybe a little bit more effort in the quality of the sides but the service was top notch, the steak was great and my salad was above par. The decor was a little dated but keep in mind they don't have the corporate cash to throw around like the big chain steak houses. I didn't try anything else on the menu and may be skeptical to but the bone in rib-eye which is what I rate a steakhouse on was AWESOME. For the money I'll definitely be back.

My wife and I visited The Summit last Sunday for brunch. Since she's a vegetarian, we don't often dine in steak houses. What drove us to try the place was a radio promotion which allowed us to try the establishment at a deeply discounted price. The brunch, what we tried, was very good. I can't comment on the seafood because I'm not a seafood kinda guy. The shrimp seemed pretty popular with others who were dining around us. I spoke with one of the owners who told me that they have just taken over The Summit Steak House. She said that she and her husband also own the Broker Restaurant. Though I don't eat seafood, I am well aware that The Broker is well known for its shrimp bowls. The brunch buffet had all kinds of freshly-prepared breakfast & lunch/dinner items. My wife enjoyed the made-to-order omlets. I tried the both the prime rib and fried chicken. The food was all very good. We finished our meal off with desert. There were many different items to try. All were delicious. On top of the food, the service was excellent. While (with the radio promotion) our savings was substantial, we will be returning for the brunch. Even at full price (under $20), Sunday Brunch at The Summit Steak House is agreat value. We're also looking forward to seeing the improvements as the new owners settle in.

Went here with my daughter for a splurge dinner. The staff were very friendly, the decor was nice and the food was good. They had a steak and lobster special and this is what we ordered. The salad was much better than many resturaunts and the steak and lobster were both good. I will be back

I'm not a big red meat eater but this place was excellent. I got their Filet Minon, salad and a twice baker potato. Food was delicious! Expensive but delicious. The waiter we had(Brian) was awesome, Actually had a sense of humor which you don't find much in these kind of places. Drinks were great. Loved it and will most definitely go back.

I've lived in Denver all my life and have never tried this place, I've been missing out this place was great! Good food, the steaks were awesome, my date got the crab legs, sweet and delicious. I had the mashed sweet potatoes hmmp like Thanksgiving! The atmosphere was great too, Fridays they had live music and people were dancing, really cool. Our server Robin was fantastic, we are going back for happy hour just to hang.

I've been going to Aurora Summit for years. Despite the crowd being on the "mature" side, it was my favorite place for steaks. For the price, you couldn't beat the quality of that meat and service. Recently, they dropped the "Aurora" from the name, and now are just called "The Summit". I don't know what's going on there, but the place gives you the impression of being on its last breath. Last time, the bread was actually microwaved rolls, the ones you buy 100 of for $1 at Wal-mart. We mentioned it to the waitress, and she seemed embarrassed and clearly didn't want to talk about it. The meat had so much fat that I couldn't even justify giving all of it to my dogs. The booth seats were lumpy and old-diner-like. Overall, there was none of the upscale feel I am used to and don't mind paying for. I'll give the restaurant another try or two for old time's sake, but if this is the pattern, I'll dump it.

The wife and I went to the Summit on a Saturday, just to give it a try. The ambiance was nice and we were greeted with a smile. We were there just for the grub, so we just drank water...which was a good as you expect (aurora tap I suspect)...anyways... So my wife ordered the 12 oz prime rib, and I ordered the 12 oz rib eye. We chose to add the "complete meal" option which included a salad and one side. My wife chose to up the ante with a "Wedge Salad"...I just got the house salad with honey mustard. For our side, we ordered a baked potato and steamed broccoli, respectively. So here is how it went: We were served some bread...it was ok...like lonestar steak house quality...I was hoping for something a little better, but, it was fine...I don't really like Del Frisco's bread either. We were then served our salads. They were decent, nothing to exotic, or special, as good as any two star restaurant. Her wedge was a wedge, but I guess we were expecting a better presentation, more bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, etc. After we were done, with our salads, our steaks came. They came sizzling on plates, nice touch. My wife asked for a rare prime rib...it was more like medium rare. My steak was cooked about just right. The quality of the steaks was pretty good, not the best I have had. With Denver being such a beef city, there is a lot of competition, so while these were really good steaks, they weren't the best I have had, not even close. The broccoli wasn't those BIG pieces like you get at a Del Frisco's, they were more like Del Monte like you get at home. The Baked Potato was however pretty much perfect!! When I go out to a "Nice Place" such as this, I expect to get more that what I can produce at home. I could probably get a Premium steak from my local King Soopers at probably $15/pound and grill it just as nice. But, I am not complaining about the price, Denver is a little pricey and that is just how it is. We got out of there for $95 with tip. The Summit is probably "A-OK" If you want a Platinum type of experience there are better places in town, but hey, this place isn't bad, isn't down town, isn't pretentious like some of the others. So, I will probably return for more!! Thanks Summit!!

I'd really like to give this place 3.5 stars... Went here with classmates for happy hour to celebrate the big 2-9. They have good happy hour here where apps are half off (don't bother with the half-off wine, terrible). BUT, we had the chicken pizza something, brie plate, sliders, spinach dip, and the calamari. All were pretty good, but nothing to rave about. Alcohol on the pricer side, but overall great atmosphere. They have live bands starting at 9pm and good crowd. Would definitely hang out here again.. Loved our server..

On Sunday January 20th I came here for brunch because I heard that they had a great selection. I made a reservation because I assumed that they would be packed. They weren't and now I know why. While the food was decent our service was atrocious! It was slow to say the least. Other tables had to remind him that they needed to order. We weren't greeted for five minutes, luckily we were ready to order. Our food came out surprisingly fast considering we ordered steak. After finishing our meal we waited for fifteen minutes after we asked for the check. Needless to say we won't be back.

I live in Aurora tried this place for a birthday celebration, because honestly, Aurora doesn't have a lot to offer. It was earlier in the evening, so we elected to sit in the lounge area, which was nice and had a good feeling about it. I eat at high-end steak houses all over town, so I don't flinch at the high prices that are usually commonplace. However, I expect quality for that price and this place does not deliver. Especially since their prices are higher than a lot of the other places I frequent downtown. I ordered a NY Strip medium rare and mashed potatoes... A pretty easy combination. However, the steak arrived and I honestly thought it was fried, it was so greasy and shiny. It was also chewy and I really had to force my way through it. The potatoes tasted like they has been made that morning and were also greasy. The steak thing honestly bothered me for so long, that two days later I had to cook a real strip at home just to satisfy my craving. My girl had the prime rib, which she said was ok, but unimpressive. The best part of our meal was the artichoke dip that came with the sampler appetiser plate and I think that says a lot. The only saving grace was the service, which was beyond excellent and makes me think the only reason I would return would be for the service, some drinks and maybe some artichoke dip.

For my birthday, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a steak dinner. We really enjoy patronizing local business as opposed to chains, so on this occasion we opted for something other than Outback. We made same-day reservations for Saturday evening at 6:00, figuring if we didn't we would have a hard time getting in. After walking in, we had to orient ourselves to figure out which way to turn to get to the restaurant because there is also a bar. After a couple of minutes and being passed by a couple of staffers, we were greeted and our reservation was eventually confirmed in the system and we were led to our table. To our surprise, the lobby was empty and the restaurant was far from full. Our waitress wasn't far behind and was very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the menu. She took our drink and appetizer order and when she came back, took our dinner order. The food was served in a timely manner, had a wonderful presentation, and was a dynamite explosion of flavor. The portions were very generous, and the meals were fairly priced. We ordered one drink which, highly priced, contained a considerable amout of alcohol. Our orders consisted of the following: Appetizer: Ahi semi-sashimi and a garden salad. Dinner: Two of their largest steaks with green beans, asparagus and a side salad. We did not have dessert. If you want a good steak in a good atmosphere with good service, and have a little extra cash to drop, the stop by The Summit.

We went to The Summit for Christmas day dinner. We'd been here a couple of times before, but it's been at least five six years since our last visit. The food and service would have gotten them five stars, but the prices cost them one. We had reservations for 3:30 and arrived about 20 minutes early. We were seated within five minutes of arriving. This was the only "nice" place open in this part of town, so it was jumping. We were seated in the small dining room off the bar. It was nice, but had more of a sports bar feel than an upscale dining room. We ordered the Chateaubriand for two. We started with baked onion soup. The beef was perfectly cooked to my wife's medium well order (I normally eat my beef medium rare but defer to her when we're eating from the same plate). The accompanying sauces were burgundy and Bearnaise. There were sides of stuffed tomatoes, steamed veggies (baby carrots and asparagus) and yukon gold mashed potatoes. We drank the house merlot. For desert she had the caramel apple granny with ice cream, and I tried the pecan pie. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Portion sizes were very generous. Our waitress kept in touch with us without being intrusive. When the moment of truth arrived the pre-tip bill totaled $115.00. The excellent food and service notwithstanding, the overall ambiance of the place (nice but not elegant) suggests the price is 20% to 25% overinflated. We'll be back, but will reserve this place for special occasions.

We have eaten at the Summit many times since the arrival of the new owners. The food has always been delicious and cooked to the directions given to the wait staff. We took our family (14 adults and 7 very young children) for Easter Brunch. The food on the buffet was very good and very plentiful...especially the desserts! The decor is bright and cheerful. Try to reserve the Wine Room. It is a wonderful experience. My favorite is to sit on the patio, listen to music and have a relaxing and delicious steak and loaded baked potato.

Well I read the reviews and decided to try it myself. So first thing is right when you walk in it smells like cigarettes which they should fix its kinda nasty to smell that smell of cigarettes being smoked inside for years smell. So it appears to be a I would assume to say fancy restaraunt yet the hostess is wearing flip flops?? Ok whatever we sit down order and all that fun stuff food was pretty decent except I ordered a 12 oz prime Rib and about 3-4 oz of it as fat like it was literally that much fat on one side. Mashed potatoes were very good and the check was decent for what it was. Its kinda dark in there I dont know if thats the intention but its kinda depressing it needs more light please would I go again maybe I'll give it one more go before I like it or swear it off forever, Oh and another thing leave the water jug at the table since its a steakhouse and we get very thirsty thanks

I have to eat steak 1x per week. Usually I buy a nice big rib eye from the behind the glass at Safeway, but at least 1x per month I get a hankering ( wow, did I say that) for a piece of Angus that only steakhouses get. You know, the uber aged, uber expensive Black Angus. I love rib eyes, t-bones, fillet mignon, oh my !! One of these hankerings overcame me about 6 months ago, just about the same time I eye-spied a $20 coupon for the Summit or Aurora Summit as the regulars call it. The BF was happy to try it, as he was sick of driving downtown for dinner. So, we roll up to hostess, who asked us if we had reservations....oh no, we thought, back to downtown..,but no worries, come right this way she said. The restaurant was busy (Sat night, 8pm), but there were empty tables galore. We were shown to a nice booth, and promptly given dinner and wine menus. From memory, I chose a eh cab by the glass, the BF had his Corona. We skipped the appy, and went right to the meal, 2 basic salads, 2 rib eyes, shared orders of creamed spinach, and asparagus,. The meat was fork tender, flavorful and grilled to perfection. However, even with the $20 off, it was steakhouse expensive. We returned recently, and I opted for a bottle of wine, as the choices by the glass were uninspiring. I had the Rodney Strong Cab, a standard in my house, and had the "normal" 2 1/2 x mark up at the Summit. Again we skipped the appy, and opted for the Caesar Salads, Fillet Mignon for me, rib eye for him, the usual creamed spinach and asparagus as sides. Again the meal was delicious and satisfying. However, I'm sticking with the 3 stars. For these prices, I would like a more romantic atmosphere, with professional service. It was fine, but nothing special--Morton's, Del Frisco, and the like are the same price, and you feel like it's a special occasion.

I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant a few years ago and had a wonderful experience. Because of this, my husband and i went back for our anniversary. To start, the hostess had a lot of makeup on and was not dressed very professional. We where then seated and ordered our dinner. The bread served was cold and unimpressive. The salad was wonderful and then the main course arrived. The presentation was nice but the food was meh. The steak was not seasoned and very bland. To top it off, the server at the table next to us was dress unprofessional. She had a shorter shirt on with low rise pants. When she reached, you could see her waist and when she bent across the table, you could see her waist and underwear. Defiantly something I didn't expect to see at a restaurant that cost $100 for 2 people! I was very disappointed and do not recommend this restaurant.

I've been in search of the best french onion soup in the city, and thanks to The Summit Steak & Seafood House, I've found it! The steak was very good as well. Keep up the good work!

This place is incredibly pricey, but the food is amazing. Appetizers were solid. The sampler was a good variety of appetizers we wanted to try. The dip was what made the dish. However, shame that there was a lack of chips to go along with it. Next up my french onion soup. So rich and flavorful--however, too flavorful. I think i t became a little too salty towards the end. But its a french onion soup, so I forgive it for being that way. Now by the time my main dish came up, I was way too full to savor it. The shrimp scampi was nice, but I think I enjoyed the beginning rather than the finale. My finale was alright. I think most pasta dishes are better once you let all the flavors sit (overnight). So tomorrow, I'll be trying my leftover pasta and see how it goes! 4/5 cause I can't afford this place. But if I could, I would come here a handful more times. Plus, they gave us all roses. WHAT? Where did this come from?! It was a good surprise for the end of our meal :)

This place seems to participate in DISHONEST business practices!! I will NEVER return to this place again! I have given it three chances and never again! The first time was earlier this year and the service was poor. We had decent drinks and appetizers on happy hour, but our server was slow and not very competent. The next day, I saw my credit card was charged twice for the full ticket amount. I called the manager on duty and she said she didn't know why and for me to "just wait" and see if it falls off. She didn't really care about my concern This isn't typical practice at any other restaurant I frequent. Two days later, one charge went through and posted and the other was still pending. They held the amount on my card for FOUR days, even though the original charge posted. The second time I went to The Summit, the service was poor again! And the food was just OK. LAST NIGHT, July 15, 2015, my friend wanted to meet there. So I said one more time I will give 'er a try. Our waitress was completely incompetent and forgot about us SEVERAL times. The drinks were not made well. The food was just OK again. When my card was ran, I signed my receipt, left and when in my car I pulled out my wallet because I realized my credit card was not in the ticket book when I signed my receipt. I immediately called and spoke with a manger who said nothing had been turned in. He didn't offer to look or speak with our waitress about it. So I said I was coming back to the restaurant to talk about it. I arrived and the waitress had left already (who I overheard earlier talking about all her financial problems with another server). The manger said she looked for my credit card. I said "well it's here somewhere". The manager shrugged his shoulders said "I don't know what to tell you" and walked away to the back leaving me there. That was it! Didn't ask for my name or number in case it turned up. Didn't look for it. NOTHING!!!! I had to cancel my card! This place is shady!!!!!!

Yelpers, I am torn between 2 (bad) and 3 (neutral) leaning slightly to the BAD! While the food was OKAY, the service was slow, disingenuous, and possibly dishonest. Value? Terrible: 2 of us spent $120 on a meal that should have been $40-50. If you are headed there now, Alice says: TURN AROUND! Lets begin with Happy Hour- yes! Everything is 50% off in the bar, drunkards! Great wine options for $5! While this is a great deal, the service was SLOW and! EEK!Watch out for skimming on your credit card- at least one member noticed a one dollar up-charge. Maybe an error, but a good reason to check your statement! The patio, overlooking busy Havana, actually looked like a super nice spot for those half-price cocktails!! The dinner: the BF and I split the chateaubriand for two at $89. The meat was good, served perfectly medium rare. The vegies and potato were oldschool and fine. The French Onion Soup was great- teeeeny- but great. The sauces were congealed and barely warm- sorta gross and Campbell's soupy....MSG, anyone? Our server TOD was.......uh.... Slow and most disconcerting, both difficult and untrustworthy- the rules of our dining kept changing. A friend brought a coupon and Tod kept having to check with "his manager in back" just like a sleazy car salesmen and at the end of the night, guess what- the coupon was not honored. So that's 2 dishonesty points for the Summit. My suggestion is to take advantage of the half price drinks at happy hour, then stagger else where for dinner, or just straight into Havana traffic- either option will beat the dining experience.

A group of 5 went for lunch. Greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant by a very pleasant woman. We were assigned a table, menus handed out, and drink orders taken within the first 3 minutes - hot damn! Restaurant was clean, lighting was perfect, and plenty of space between tables. The menu had a nice selection from basic sandwiches to steaks. I am not sure how some reviewers talk about spending $250 on a dinner for 2. The most expensive cut I saw was $65. The math is pretty simple after that. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with home fries. The sandwich had just enough bite and the number of fries was generous. Another one of our party ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed his meal as well. I was told the French dip was tasty. Stupid French! I believe my sandwich was $13, so not exactly cheap, but not a pocket emptying experience. Friendly staff and good food will have me coming back.

This place is a tad pricey, but it sure is delicious! Our most recent visit was to see my favorite local musician Josh Blackburn. While in the lounge, my husband and I ordered the seafood boat for 2, which included oyster shooters, oysters on the half shell, a lobster tail, shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, and crab claws. We then shared prime rib, which is always fantastic!

The food and cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere is fun...very old school style steakhouse. Our waitress, Patty, was excellent! She was attentive, knowledgable and very friendly! We would highly recommend if you are in the Aurora area to visit this restaurant!

Nice wine list, steaks are good. Service could use a little improvement, nothing bad, just needs a little improvement. If something is not right, give them a chance to fix it. Everyone will help!

If you're looking to drop some cash, this is the place to go. An appetizer, two entrees, and two cocktails averages about $130-150 not including tip. The food quality is good and the portions generous, but if you're looking for a cheap date, you've come to the wrong place. I recommend the Summit Sampler as an appetizer. It offers just enough variety to keep it interesting. It comes with two pieces prime rib bruschetta, four jumbo cocktail shrimp and cocktail sauce, a serving of fried calamari with dipping sauce, and a small dish of spinach artichoke dip and chips. For entrees, I've had the 12oz. ribeye steak and I've had the Alaskan King Crab legs. I prefer the crab legs as I'm a seafood lover, but if you love meat, then the ribeye is a good choice. Skip the Bearnaise sauce though, as it tastes weird to me here. For your salad option, you can't go wrong with the Caesar. Service has always been friendly, but sometimes it can be really slow. The bar area usually boasts some kind of entertainment like a piano player or small band. After 9pm on the weekend, I think they have karaoke or some sort of DJ as it gets loud with pop music/hip-hop blaring from the bar area.

Classy looking place with dishes in the higher $$$$ range. Came in for a quick drink to kill some time with the boyfriend. Bartender was friendly, drinks were reasonable, and vibe was fun. We'll come back for dinner sometime soon.

Hmmmm, what can I say? This place used to be a required visit by me but now I would rather drive by. The service has decreased along with the quality of the food. I sat in the lounge and also at the bar and the waiters seemed more interested in the male patrons and their names than me. My food arrived cold and spoiled tasting. I was never asked if I was ok with my order. When I expressed my concerns to the manager he had nothing much to say and shrugged his shoulders. No follow up, no nothing. Do yourself a favor and skip this experience. You have been warned.

I have been a regular of Summit for a long time. I am giving three stars now because this place has a great past, but the quality varies a bit more than it should. They have a selection of prime beef that will have you wanting more, of which I am partial to the ribeye because I like a little char on the marbling. The dining room is classy and comfortable. The place is done with a lot of warm wooden beams and classic art. I like to sit in the bar and listen to the live music or or out on the patio in the evening. They have a separate food menu for the bar but both are available. I love the tuna appetizer. The last few times I have been I have noticed the place has been slipping. My most recent visit was a Thursday night with my lady friend for her birthday. We sat in the lounge but just missed the piano player who had ended at 8. We had the place to ourselves except for two other tables. Our server was sweet but very new and didn't know the wine or food menus well at all. We ordered drinks and orders of buffalo wings and beef sliders from the bar appetizers and sat and chatted. The food seemed to take a really long time which left me sort of looking around the room where I found the staff camped out on a table in the bar eating what looked like a steak. I have never liked it when the staff camps out in the bar or dining room on or off shift. It is tacky. When the food arrived the wings were all dried out and appeared to have sat under glow lamps for a long time. They tasted ok but were dry and not very tender. The sliders on the other hand were ok. They are served three to an order and come with a choice of shoestring potatoes or steak fries. I love this place but I wish it would stay consistent so I would feel better about upping the stars. They have great live music and a nice mature crowd that is just rowdy enough :) The view from the patio is fantastic at sunset.

This review is based on only the bar side of the restaurant. We had a great experience with the friendly staff. The appetizers were the perfect size and tasty! We were pleased by the live trio playing. They took requests and played a wonderful twist on classics and current pop hits! We will be returning for this for sure!!

Just went for drinks and light dinner. A band was playing and found out bands play just about every weekend. There's even a small dance floor, if so inclined. Was a little too loud having not known there was going to be a band there at the time.

Went to the summit for dinner tonight. Food was very good and the service was even better. Bailey was our waitress and she took wonderful care of us. They also had some great live music. Tyler Bray playing guitar & keyboard and a beautiful voice. Definitely will be back!

A Denver tradition. Bring your credit card and be ready to eat some of the best seafood and steak in the whole country. They have a full size bar and a huge wine cellar if you want to get your party started the right way. My table ordered The Seafood boat! It is listed at $57 for two We shared it with four people. If you love all seafood it is a must buy. If your not then look over what they bring you.The smoked salmon is the star of the boat followed by the oyster shooters with lemon buffalo suace you get 4 shots! I order the french onion soup, it was the best I ever had in a long long time.Do not get the salad always go with the soup.My co workers ordered bloody marys and they liked them but they were not spicey enough for there taste buds. My main course was the small ribeye (medium) was perfect not fatty only on the tip. They waiter explained the serve 8 diffrent styles of potatoes. I went with the twice baked and it was hot and cheesy. The house bread was a twist of rye and wheat and it was fantastic. I would love to come back on a tuesday for all you can eat king crab legs!

I eat too much steak for my own good. But my cholesterol is still solid so I'm gonna keep dosing myself with red meat. Anyways, I think I have a pretty decent gauge of what to expect from an excellent steakhouse. This spot misses the mark. Slow slow slow service and the steak was overdone. The escargot was also a bit "funky". Given what you pay, you can get a much better experience at other area steakhouses. To the restaurant's credit, they did credit a glass of wine for the overdone steak. Still very disappointing.

I had few takeouts. I always get same thing: Surf and turf (filet and lobster tail) and wedge salad =$106. 1st time they forgot my salad, which I paid extra $2 for. 2nd time was the best experience. Meal was great. They took care off an appetizer and they even packed bread and butter for me! 3rd time. No bread. I do expect bread for $106! Waitress tried really hard to squeeze out a smile as she hands me the food. Lobster was almost perfect. Steak was at a 3 out of 5. I love tuna tartare and any raw / sauté tuna. Theirs is terrible :(

Honestly a very ok restaurant but a couple of dishes are really good. I loved the ambience and the service. Had the Cajun blackened catfish and wasn't a big fan. Also tasted the prime rib and maybe ours me bit not worth the hefty price.

My wife and I went here this weekend after driving by it for years. I ordered the cowboy steak and my wife ordered the 16 oz Ribeye so I could take some home for breakfast. We both felt that the steaks were good but not great. For paying $59 and $41 for our two steaks we expected an amazing meal. We do eat out a lot at high end steak houses so we do know what an amazing steak tastes like. Both my wife and I would give the steaks around a 5-6 on our scale of ten. The steaks didn't melt in our mouth like some places we go and it seemed like they were a little more chewy. The bread also wasn't very good. The thing that made our experience a three was the waiter. He was great as far as customer service and being outgoing and recommendations and knowledge of his menu. He was also very personable and in an age of zero customer service it is hard to find that.

Take the 2 for what its worth, I've only been once and only ordered the Ahi. I ate at the bar and just got uncomfortable looks from the employees (manager and bar tender). I'm not entirely sure what I did. Aside from that, the Ahi was ok. Better Ahi at another nearby newer restaurant. I bet the steaks are awesome though.

Great happy hour prices, great atmosphere, great food for appetizers for the $3 off. Haven't had the food entrees yet so can't comment on those, but the appetizer sliders and soups are great. Spectacular happy hour 7 days a week, even SUNDAYS 50% off drinks @ the bar & 3$ off appetizers. (They do not college pour here.) Brunch 8.00$!!!

We went in for Mathers day brunch this morning and the power was out due to the snowstorm last night. They had all of the staff members operating completely without high stress, or if they were stressed out we could not tell. They still had the full buffet going with buffet warmer plates and the whole place was lit by candlelight, so pretty! Our server was so sweet and apologetic even tho of course, they couldn't help the snow snapping power lines, and the food was delicious! An unexpectedly fun brunch experience!

Service started bad but ended up ok. My seared tuna salad was good maybe a bit over done. I would have liked a little less dressing but it had plenty of olives. My husbands burger was too well done so it was dry but the fries were great. I asked for a roll and got two mini loafs. One white and one dark rye. I ate one small piece. This is a perfect place to go for the holidays. The Christmas decorations are lovely. Really gets you in a happy place. I would definitely go back especially this time of year.

Revisited. Bar is great for drinks, service, and happy hour cocktail pricing. Steak not right after two attempts. Really? This is a steak house? Owners: Please rise to meet the standards set when the restaurant opened as THE top restaurant in our fantastic niche of Aurora/SE Denver. There's polish needed in the front and back of the house and major work to be done in the kitchen. Customers: until happy hour applies to dining room, eat in the bar and expect an imperfect meal with staff who tries to remedy error quickly.

This is what a steak house should be. Classy and quiet with a full-course menu and service standards that are top-notch. They even took care to re-fold our napkins when we'd get up to use the restroom. There aren't too many places like this anymore. Keep it up, Summit.

For a price of $250 for 2 people with limited drinks....I was so disappointed. We had always heard how amazing this is and having visited other Denver landmark restaurants with great results, we decided to celebrate a new job by visiting the Summit. What can I say, well true the interior is dated, think 1975, but I really don't mind that as long as it's quiet and clean. The service was adequate, nothing bad but nothing great either. Now the food: Ahi Tuna appetizer- was overcooked and served at an odd temperature Calamari- absolutely no seasoning, not the worst I've ever had but seriously near the bottom only thing saving it was it was not rubbery or overcooked so was edible with sauces French Onion Soup- what can I say, was one of the best if not the best we've ever had, I think the veal stock seals the deal I had the NY strip medium and mashed potatoes and broccoli - steak was more well done and so bland and greasy, no seasoning at all. I know some believe if you have great meat no seasoning is needed and it can shine on it's own. ...this was not the case. I ate maybe 3 bites of this chewy bland thing and had enough. Broccoli and potatoes both good nothing special. Fiancé had T-bone extra rare with broccoli and french fries- again the steak was not just not extra rare it was closer to well done a far cry from what he ordered. Again broccoli and fries nothing special. Dessert was Creme Brulee- not the best at all, it was grainy and served at a weird temperature , the strawberry on top tasted like it had been stored with cooked meats Drinks were okay mixed correctly but over priced Bread- came out close to the end of the meal only got a quick taste and when we asked for remaining food to go it was not in included. *we asked for food to go because hell if I spend $250 someone is eating this Overall would likely not return or if I did just order soup and drinks

From the constant packed lot and the decent reviews, we were expecting great food and lousy servers. We got the opposite. I cannot applaud the staff enough for their attentiveness and devotion (one server spent our whole meal polishing the stemware for his section with added scrutiny to the light). The marbled bread was delicious and excellent wine selection. But for the amount we spent on what should have been a premium meal was so not worth it. The ribeye had the dullest sear on it; we tried blamed it on being medium-rare but that shouldn't affect a sizzling grill. The prime rib was a little dry, which I hoped would be compensated with some dazzling horseradish; nary a flare to either nostril. The mashed potatoes were just OK and the potatoes au gratin felt like a throwback to 1970. Should we try it again, with all these great reviews? I don't know. Maybe lunch to see if it was just an off night. But remembering dissatisfaction and subsequent bill ($$$) might be hard to convince me.

Arriving on a busy Friday night, we were seated in one of the beautiful dining rooms of this holiday decorated restaurant. Our server brought our wine list and brought our water immediately. He also offered the services of the sommelier. Calamari was our choice of appetizer. It was crispy and well seasoned. Next we ordered wedge salads that were generous and crisp. Both my partner and I ordered filet mignon topped with crab oscar. Fantastic! Paired with mashed potatoes and asparagus it was a delightful meal. Our server was very friendly and warm and the meal outstanding.

I just enjoyed a 5-star lunch meeting at The Summit Steakhouse! The ambiance is warm and cozy; it's decorated for the holidays right now and is absolutely gorgeous. I chose the steak salad for lunch and it was delicious. The steak was hot and perfectly cooked medium. The salad was delicious in flavor and very good portion size. We enjoyed the Kona coffee after and oh my! What a treat! They brew it right at your table - such a great experience. The coffee itself was strong & smooth, accompanied by fresh whipped cream and sugar cane sticks. It was such a delight. I cannot wait to return with my family.

For the price, this was a two star. Ahi tuna was overcooked, crab cakes lacked flavor, and coconut shrimp was underwhelming. Even the Caesar salad was unimpressive. If you are going to charge these type of prices, you should deliver on quality. The rest of my party was also disappointed.

I'm not real big on steakhouses and $89 turf & surfs. Just not my thing. I went for the first thing I saw on the bar menu. The stuffed blue cheese burger is the best burger on the planet. It's not even close. Just like Red Robin, your choice is pink or no pink. This was cooked perfectly. The next time RR gets that right will be their first time. The fries were undercooked, but thats an easy fix. This isn't a place you go for fries. The beer was cold, the happy hour prices were right. My wife had the surf and turf, she wasn't complaining.

Brunch this morning was very tasty. The food came out pretty fast and there was A LOT! Their sausage gravy was wonderful, however I don't think there was enough gravy for one plate of Biscuits and Sausage. Overall a nice experience.

I felt scammed. I really did. Well this was the second Valentine's dinner we've had here in a row. There will be NO 3rd time. Ease of making a reservation - 4 Seated promptly - 4 Waiter - Chris - 5 - he was excellent Other service - 3 - front desk staff were not paying attention Food - 1 - see below Ambiance/decor - 2 Noise - 2 Price for food/service delivered - 1 - Chris got a good tip Overall Experience - 1 First, reservation was made well in advance, and no problems with it. We were seated promptly. Chris was our waiter and he did a stand-up knock-out job. He was the only really pleasant part of the night. We were seated in a different part of the restaurant than last Valentine's Day and the area we were in this time has low ceilings and really dated, terrible, not-classy decor. It looked like a steakhouse interior that attempted to be classy on a $25 budget. We had crab cakes for an appetizer. They were a little too mushy, but they tasted good as did the accompanying sauce. I had the french onion soup, and it was very good, perhaps the best part of the meal. My wife ordered the New York Strip and her steak was prepared perfectly and tasted stellar. It was great. But, it was not my dish. I ordered a medium rare rib-eye. I personally love to grill and I know what rare, medium rare, medium, medium-well, and well-done all look like, feel like (center temp), etc. 99 times out of 100 I will order a medium-rare steak when we go out because I can eat a rare steak, and I can eat a medium steak, but i really prefer something right smack dab in between. However, I feel like at a nice steakhouse I shouldn't have my steak screwed up. I ordered medium rare, and I got a really freaking rare steak. I had no grill marks on either side of the steak either. I really truly wonder if I got someone else's steak. **See my picture to see how rare it was** I couldn't eat it. The center was very cool, and nearly cold. When Chris came by, I asked him what I ordered, since I could have messed up or he might have only heard the "rare" part. Well his ticket said medium rare, and he even showed me. I showed him the steak and I asked him what it looked like. He said, wow, that's really rare, even for a rare steak. He offered to take it back and have them cook it some more, but I really didn't want to mess with that. Two other tables near us also received cold, or poorly cooked meals that had to send it back. I didn't want to be the 3rd. When I saw their problems, I just knew something with ours would be screwed up. AND, it was. So, this place deserves a 1-star review, no doubt in my mind. High priced steakhouses are held to a higher standard. This place lives up to no standards. Avoid this steakhouse, period. Avoid it. They don't know what they are doing. They are either too busy in the kitchen to do it right, or just don't know what they are doing. Why a 2-star review then? Chris, our waiter. He was running around like crazy trying to get everyone meals fixed. I felt bad for him. He was doing his darnedest to please everyone. For about a $150, I have zero reasons to even consider this place again. It straight up SUCKED, and I rarely will write that in a review. I felt scammed. I really did.

We went for dinner Christmas night. We have had brunch here before but this was our first dinner. The atmosphere was warm and the restaurant was decorated beautifully. We made a reservation with Open table so we were seated within 5 minute of arriving which was nice as the house was packed. They did have a holiday meal for 36.95 but we opted to order off the regular menu. The food was great! Traditional steakhouse fare. The prices were a little high for what we got though... Could have saved $50 by going to a chain with the same flavor. I wish I could give 5 stars but the service was lacking unfortunately. I know it was a busy night but not once did our server ask if we would like another drink or really check on us. Our empty plates sat in from of us for at least 20 minutes. Our server was rushed in dropping our check. After waiting a while we really wanted desert but didn't want to wait any longer. I venture to say service would be most excellent on a regular night.

I have driven past this place for years and wondered what it was like. The parking lot always seems to be busy no matter the evening or season. Had dinner with a friend here after a movie. It was a place neither had been, served both steak and seafood, wasn't in the tech center or downtown and wasn't a chain. Also had some decent reviews so sure, let's give it a shot. I had called on the way from the theater to see if they had seating available so when we got there we were seated immediately. Nice for 7PM on a Saturday night. It was relatively quite volume wise when walking. I noticed some others as we walked through to be seated. I think the carpeting helps to damper some of the noise. You could hear the music from the bar/dancing area. The to me was actually very nice, it wasn't loud and blaring and once in a while it was a tune you knew and secretly sang in your head. I will admit I am a part of the older crowd. I grew up around older people, worked with and for older people in my youth, spent most of my time with my grandmother growing up so the fact that this place was filled with more 40+ then it was 20+ was perfectly fine with me. This may not be the trendy thing to say, but I would much rather not be elbow to elbow with everyone and hear every word they have to say. I am not the see or be seen type most of the time. The décor reminded me of a place back close to where I grew up, it was a place you only went for VERY special occasions. The place where your Mom and Dad went on their anniversary kind of place. Not overly decorated and a little dated in places but that's part of its charm. The dining areas are pretty large but are divided into smaller sections with glass wall divider type things. This also adds to the coziness of things. The wait staff wasn't down your throat constantly or seemingly distracted by their cell phone constantly either. We ordered a few glasses of wine. The self proclaimed wine snob I was with made fun of me for ordering Riesling. I am not really about the red with this or white with that. I order what I like! Now before we get to the food I must bring this up. The silverware. It looked neat but man that stuff had girth to it. The forks in particular. It's hard to describe but it reminded me of a fork a child would eat with. Blunt ended tines and large handles. It just felt a bit awkward to me to eat with. Back in the day it was probably really neat, but if I could have them make one change, that would totally be it. Ordered a Rib eye and Au gratin potatoes which also came with a salad. Opted out of the lettuce wedge and went with house. Mixed greens, an unusually large (thick) slice of cucumber and a tomato wedge along with a few scatter croutons was presented. It was nice enough, I don't go to a steak restaurant to eat salad, I WANTED MEAT! The greens were seemingly fresh and the balsamic dressing was a little heavy on the balsamic, which I like. Rib eye came out and was really cooked well. More medium to medium well which I requested and was happy to be served. I was extremely excited it was not covered in 5 ways of seasoned salt. It appears to be just lightly olive oil and salt and pepper seasoned which I also prefer so you can taste beef, not salt. I have never understood the whole, this is what you pay for a steak and this is how much a side of this or that costs. The Au gratin potatoes came with the meal as you were given choice of potato. They were nice chunks of potato in a cream and cheese sauce. The also had some melted cheese on top which was still a bit stringy. The only complaint I had about them is there wasn't nearly enough of them! It was a monkey dish of them basically. This was also my first experience with Aha i Tuna. It was pretty good but not sure I want to have it all to myself. I am just learning to eat a little more adventurously lately. Baby steps in a new phase of life. Over all visit in my eyes was good. I enjoyed the place, the food, the company and the nostalgic feels it all stirred in me. They do have a brunch on Sunday so I am thinking this will be my next experience till spring when the patio opens back up for happy hour.

Outstanding food with outdated decor. Chef/cook staff knows how to cook steak to perfection...each time I ask for my steak done a different way and they nail it! Well seasoned and very tasty. The attentive servers are a definite upgrade over what you find in an Outback, Black Eyed Pea, or Chili's. What is holding this place down is the 70's Piano Man style decor in the place...it is dark and depressing. If I were management, you need bursts of color to make this place more inviting. The noise is okay, and the place is white glove clean each time I come. Overall impression: my first choice for eating steak in Denver. Would bring more friends and family here if they could just make the place more modern.

Great place for brunch. Went there with a large group. We were treated well...very friendly service. Terrific staff...very personable. Prices are very reasonable..lots of brunch choices for just $8.95. The food is good. It's not super great, bit certainly good for the price and I would definitely recommend it for brunch and for groups. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again! We had some appetizers before our meal. They were terrific. Seafood appetizers: crab cakes, shrimp, calamari...all delicious. 5 stars for that plate!!

This place was ok... We were kind of disappointed. It's close to the house and we love steak so we were excited to try. As a lot of previous posts point out the service was terrible. It was later on Saturday night and you could tell they just wanted us out. I get that because I have served but the food is super expensive. If you're going to drop $200 for dinner for 2 you want to feel taken care of and valued. The steaks were good but the oyster app and salads were nothing impressive and at a very high price point. They over price and under deliver in my opinion. May go back again just to see but it wasn't our favorite.

Went to Summit tonight. Been probably 7-8 years for me and 1st time for my husband. We'd been wanting to go and one of our favorite bands was playing there so "two birds, one stone". With a 12 oz ribeye being the smallest (neither of us can eat that much), we decided to share a 16 oz and just get an extra side. The waiter chatted us up a bit and mentioned he was use to working "high-end" restaurants. We decided to change to a table as the booth was a bit uncomfortable. When he brought salad we asked if he'd mind. He wasn't gungho about the idea but said sure as he sat my salad at booth (we were wanting to get up from!). Never even offered to move our food or drink to another table but allowed us to. When meal came, my baked potato was dry (no butter, no sour cream, etc) so I asked for butter. Several minutes went by and he came around to check on us but forgot butter. Let my husbands coke turn into brown melted ice before he had to be asked to bring another. On the way to the restroom one waiter almost bowled my husband over walking down an aisle, never an excuse me, I'm sorry, nothing. Sad to say for our waiter my husband is not an "automatic" tipper. Bill was $50 and tip given was $5. Had service been better, waiter would have gotten more. The food was good but not exceptional. The meat was very tender but not very well seasoned and my baked potato had a hardness to it as though it were either nuked or warming for a while. Not quite what you'd expect for a $40 steak dinner. On the plus side the band sounded really good and they probably had more people on dance floor than they've ever seen!

The wrap I had was delicious and I appreciate their wine selection. The live, relaxing background music was nice too. Great spot for A-town.

We reserved a table for seven for Father's Day brunch. When it's just my wife and I dining out, I usually don't even think about delays in food/check deliveries but with a larger group (especially on Father's Day), I expected it. To my surprise, even though the restaurant was bustling, the meals came out on time and the kids' drinks were always filled. My ribeye steak was cooked perfectly - the way I try to prepare it on my home grill (without much success). This was my third time to The Summit in the past nine months and I look forward to returning to try the rumored "Peyton Manning Steak..."

I only been to Summit once because it is expensive, even there happy hour. There staff are nice, even there managers, sometimes they will sit with you after there shift.

Bleh Bleh... not worth the money at all. I've had better steaks and sides at a Texas Roadhouse.

Set your time machine for the late 70s! By that, I mean the 1970s, and not the average age of the customers you might encounter here. Okay, I am exaggerating, but for a restaurant in Aurora, the drinkers and diners seem to be skewing older, whiter, and richer than one might expect. Perhaps the nearby golf course is exercising an undue influence over the facilities. That said, you really need to check this place out. It is a dimly lit cavern of dark woods and heavy furniture. The customers here all seemed to be having a good time, and I soon did as well. A friend of ours was kind enough to organize a happy hour adventure to The Summit. I was a bit skeptical before I arrived, more troubled after I walked in, and was prepared to be disappointed. Fortunately, I was very much mistaken in my negative anticipation. My doubts burned away like a light morning mist under the blazing sun, as soon as I ordered my first drink. For, you see, drinks during HH are 1/2 price. I don't mean SOME drinks are half off (like lite beer and well drinks), I mean the whole liquor menu (as far as I could tell) was 50%. This means that a glass of single malt Scotch, that might normally cost $24, is now only $12. Indeed, I was almost giddy as I ordered a 15 year old Macallan for a mere $6.50. Damn . . . it was a nice pour into a small snifter, and it was so very smooth. Other drinks were similarly on sale, and our table soon went into a frenzy of bargain boozing. Appetizer prices during HH are okay, but not great. You get $3 off of the regular price, which is still not that cheap. I was not impressed with calamari I had. It was well-cooked, but rather cold by the time it hit the table. Although steak sounded good, I was in more of a burger mood. I went with one of the steakburgers (ground fresh from their steak trimmings). These are served with a choice of steak fries, shoestring fries, fruit, or cottage cheese. I wisely chose the excellent steak fries. My Portabella Mushroom steakburger was outstanding! This is a half pound of meat with marinated Portabella mushrooms, sauteed onions, & mozzarella. It was a meaty, juicy, hearty offering indeed. The service was very good. The menu offers such classic items as tuna stuffed tomatoes and french dip sandwiches. You really do need to check this place out.

Brought the family here for the all you can eat brunch on Sunday. Had reservations well in advance, and was promptly seated. I loved the atmosphere, and service was friendly. The food was good, but I should have asked about the buffet costs for my kids. I was charged $30 per person, which is reasonable, except I was charged the same for adults and my 2 and 4 year old kids. Seems a little excessive. Even the Bellagio in Vegas gives you a discount for kids up to 12 years old, and the food here doesn't compare to the Bellagio.

Dined here at least 5 times now and always a great atmosphere, great food (esp. the $79.00 for two filet deal) fantastic service. Going to try their Sunday brunch soon, will update.

I agree with some of the other reviewers here, there is kind of an obvious age thing going on. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that seniors don't really converse that much over their dinners and so you're energetic conversation kind of carries through your dining room. Aside from that, the food was on point, they have some good wine available at not so outrageous prices, and the menu is definitely larger than most higher end steak joints. The service was friendly and attentive, however there's kind of a disconnect between the young cute hostesses wearing colorful and shiny boas and the wait staff who were wearing formal black pants and black shirt. As far as value... I think it teeters on the overpriced side. $32 for a 9oz ribeye and $36 for two 6oz ahi tuna filets that you can't get rare, they sear them to a medium rare, so the edges get overcooked and dry. Good veggies and Au gratin potatoes from what my friend said. At this price point it's assumed the place is clean and the service is formal and upscale, and it was, so nothing to note there. The decor is older, but steak houses rarely have a contemporary feel unless you're a hipster doofus living in the Highlands. We were tucked back in one of the dining rooms (FYI it looked like they have several private rooms for parties of 8 or so) and when we left we passed the bar area and they had music and dancing so if that's you're thing it looked like a good time. Bonus: No screaming kids!

2nd time here. First time I got the Pork Chop and it was excellent. This time we took some friends for restaurant week. French onion soup was very good, 5 of us ordered the New York Strip and we all left food on our plates. Steaks were not good. No flavor and very tough and had a lot of gristle. The mashed potatoes they served with the entrees were pretty boring as well. Our other person had the Cornish hen which did not have any flavor. The bread was good and the desserts very average. We still enjoyed the atmosphere but I don't think we would go back.

This is one of my very favorite steakhouses in Denver and now I lived only a few miles away! The decor is definitely dated but the food luckily is not. Pro-tips: if you're going to a steak house, get the steak! I've not had good luck with other entrees but the steak is always excellent and cooked just the way you want it. The prime rib in particular is fantastic. Also, as others have mentioned, the french onion soup here is TO DIE FOR. They also have one the best creme broules I've ever tried.

The Summit seems to appeal to an older crowd. The decor has an antique feel and the menu seems outdated. Overall, it didn't live up to my expectations of a high quality steakhouse. The meal started with an iceberg lettuce salad. In my opinion, no salad should be made of iceberg. But, if a restaurant serves an iceberg lettuce salad, they should at least serve the green, leafy part of the lettuce. We had white salads. Really? Lettuce should be green. Maybe they could throw some Romaine or a nice Spring Mix in there. On to the entree... Prime rib with mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. The mashed potatoes were yellow from too much butter. The veggies were undercooked and dripping in oil and the prime rib was just not my thing. The Summit seems to have good specials. We had two prime rib entrees for $25. But, personally, I would rather have better quality food than a cheaper price.

This is a nice upscale place you can go and pretty much avoid the noise and too many kids. Sorry...I like kids, but when I pay for a good meal I like this place because it mostly adults. I have eaten here many times over my 21 years in Denver and never had a bad meal, or bad service. They always have a great selection on the menu and the food always excellent!

Dined here for the first time with close friends for a birthday (Jan 2015). The ambiance was great (dark browns/wood), and they accommodated our request for a quiet corner/booth. Service time was just right - enough to get some conversation started but not too long to get us wondering too much. The appetizer sampler consisted of spinach dip, cocktail shrimp, and excellent bruschetta and calamari. The french onion soup was a highlight! The pork chop was alright - it was tender but a bit too creamy for my taste - but the waiter got it right with the red wine suggestion. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts! Towards the end we even had a nice chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate with. Overall it was a very nice, intimate dining experience, the food was very tasty overall though it's not something that will surprise (safe is sometimes good). Service was also excellent though it's something to expect for the restaurant's price range (~$60/person). Wouldn't mind coming back!

Awesome restaurant. we have been here twice in the last two months and could not be happier about the updates to the decor and great menu choices. We went to Brunch about six weeks ago and found it to be incredibly affordable....cheaper than Sam's#3, we left full and very satisfied. We were so impressed with brunch we have returned for happy hour and dinner...Music and drinks in the bar are very welcoming and dinner rivaled any expensive steakhouse! We will definitely return!

For lunch i enjoy their steak salad! Wow and very reasonable. Also-- the service is amazing! A wonderful experience every time!!

I have lived down the street from this place for over 10 years and finally stopped in last night. Am I glad we did! Wednesday night is half off martini night. (pretty sure it was half) And we're talking top shelf HIGH quality martinis! These are served in normal adult sized martini glasses, not those mini glasses as I've experienced at other "high class" establishments. AND, it's really more like a martini and a half since they bring the shaker with it, so you can refill your own! Right there, I'm sold on it! Yes the decor was dated and drab. The fellow patrons were older and some looked as if they just rolled out of bed, but no mind, they all seemed like locals and I didn't feel uncomfortable. I knew I wanted a Grey Goose dirty martini and they did not disappoint! My second round was off the large drink menu. Our waitress was very friendly and quite knowledgeable in regards to the different drinks which was helpful. The bar food menu was $3.00 off for happy hour which lasts until 7pm!! SEVEN PM! The sampler was really quite good but on the pricey side. The shrimp cocktail had 5 large shrimps and were hearty! This is a gem of a happy hour without the downtown drive or stuffy vibe! Don't let the outside put you off, meet some friends here and enjoy some quality cocktails!

We have lived close to the Summit for almost 10 years and finally decided to go in for surf and turf. Everything was excellent! Crab cakes with big chunky crab, french onion soup and au gratin potatoes to die for. King crab was sweet and meaty. I never had bread pudding before either but it was great. For us, service was top notch (Patrick I think) & I liked the old school feel of the place. It is not cheap but well worth it for us. We will be back!!

The Summit Steakhouse was okay. The prices didn't justify the meal. The only thing great about the place was the service. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye, medium. With twice-baked potatoes as a side. It comes with salad. The salad was good and the ranch dressing was great, too. A good-size plate and my wife and son complimented The ribeye looked good and was slightly undercooked as a medium-rare, instead of medium. It tasted bland; no taste really and required salt to give it some flavor. The meat itself was also tough and took effort to cut. I've had better at Ted's Montana Grill in Aurora, Southlands area. The twice-baked potato was tough to cut into and was loaded with too much seasoning and was salty, too. I should've ordered the steak fries instead. Our waiter was awesome. Courteous and attended to our wants and needs. He saved our night from being a disaster. I don't recommend this place. Good ambiance but food needs some work.

The Summit. It was that place that I always drove by but never stopped at until last year. Oh sure, I'd been to the Cabin Bar, but never had I eaten in the restaurant. But now that I have eaten there couple of time, it's good! Let me start with the onion soup. Now, everyone knows that I love French onion soup, right? Well this is probably the best French onion soup that I've ever had. It's rich and delicious, and they don't skimp on the cheese (très important, no?). So good! Other than that, I've had the steak, the chicken cordon bleu (the revamped one that's on their dinner menu now), the Chateaubriand and several of the appetizers, which have all been very good. Mr. Mixer particularly enjoyed the shrimp scampi that was served with his surf and turf filet. All in all, the Summit is a good experience!

Went here for an early dinner around happy hour. Sat at the bar and had terrible service. They had to go in the back to get ice tea since there was none behind the bar. Ordered simple food...wings, French onion soup, and fettucini Alfredo. The chicken was dry, the wings were made wrong and needed to be redone, and the soup was greasy. Thank god I didn't order a steak considering how terrible the basic food was.

We had every intention of eating at home, but somehow we ended up at The Summit for Thee Sunday Brunch. I don't know how many times we'd passed by this restaurant, but it was exciting to actually walk in! I was surprised by the elegant decor and intimate lighting. Not at all what I was expecting for a steak house. We were also surprised by the inexpensive pricing of the brunch selections, especially considering the large portions. My chorizo could have been much spicier, but the accompanying potatoes were delicious! My only regret is that I didn't discover this place sooner!

Ever since I was small (yes, that long ago), The Summit (or as we used to know it, Aurora Summit) was my parents' choice for a lah-dee-dah night out. Please do not get me wrong. The Summit is very clearly catering to one particular crowd - I will be discreet and say "folks of a certain age". Their steaks, sides and starters are certainly not dreadful by any means. And the service has always been pleasant each time I've been. But for that price, honestly, I expect something more. Portions are decent but that's about as far as I'd go. Some of the entertainment has been known to verge on cheesy. And honestly, it's just trying to be something that I don't think it is. Not anymore anyway. Nevertheless, when that nostalgic whimsy hits, I'm sure I will pop in again. Oh, and for those of you who remember the side dish called Green Phunque - long gone. Don't even ask about it.
