My Experience was Kick@$$ here. I ponied up to the bar, and ordered a moscow mule to start. And you must go during happy hour. Then ordered the meat and cheese plate with bread. A little pricey but was delicious. Another thing I seen on the menu to order would be salads or pizzas. Oh boy they look good. The Dj is spinning music but its low enough that you can hold a conversation. And you get the view of the ski run. The owner is friendly and fun, and meeting others as well and talking to them was great as well. This will be my go to spot in Aspen from now on.

Tried to find a place in Aspen for an appetizer and cocktail around 3 PM. So many restaurants were closing between lunch and dinner. Found Zeno by the gondola. Was not very crowded and we got a table. The staff was so wonderful. Friendly, had nice conversation, replaced my half glass of wine that I accidentally spilled. ( it was my first one;). Even chased us down with my friend accidentally left her hat there. We will definitely be back.

Dear Zeno, we had a nice time over all, but next time when a costumer asks for a steak RARE please try your best not to overcook it. And if its NOT rare, please do not try to explain to your costumer that "this is what rare actually is"... This is not how its done my darlings! Simply because of that arrogant behavior we will have a stake somewhere else! There are way too many great restaurants in Aspen for anyone to put up with #%€! like this! Thanks!

We had a great experience at Zeno. Our service was excellent. I believe this restaurant has only been open a short while, so maybe all the bad service reviews were from when it was new? The food was excellent and they were knowledgeable about gluten free. The drinks were great. They have live music on Saturday nights and one day during the week. Sit outside if the weather is nice. Such a beautiful view being right at the base of the mountain. Inside at the bar was nice too though. Overall, a really great experience and I'd love to come back.

I don't know how this place has low reviews. I live in Orange County, I'm from NYC, and I have been to the best restaurants in the world and this place tops them all. It has a great atmosphere, insanely great food (including gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian), and everything is made on the spot. The sorbet, the fries etc that most restaurants but pre-made are made fresh at the restaurant, and it is obvious when you taste the food. Laura, the original bartender is sweet and makes everyone feel welcome, and makes amazing drinks while socializing with everyone. I hope that anyone in Aspen will give this place a try, and for your own sake order the hand cut fries and the chef made sorbet!

Worst owner ever. Food was an hour late, we made a comment, and owner kicked us out. Tried to talk sense in him, but no luck. Literally. Will never go back. Sad.

I had a terrible experience at Zenos. We waited over an hour for our food. Some entrees were brought before appetizers. Some of our entrees were entirely forgotten. The owner not only didn't take responsibility - he was rude and incredibly disrespectful. Way too many great choices in Aspen to waste your time with this huge disappointment. And by the way, the food that did arrive- subpar at best.

This place is horrible, which is so sad because they have a beautiful space, so convenient to the Aspen gondola and downtown. We came in the late afternoon on a weekend, so it was busy, but the main rush was over. We all ordered the kobe burgers, and enjoyed a bottle of wine while we were waiting. We received the burgers after a moderate wait, and surprisingly there was nothing to dress the burger - no sauce, no cheese - just lettuce and a slice of tomato. For a kobe burger, it was surprising that it was so simple, but no biggie. We asked for condiments. About 25 minutes later, some of us were starving and started to nibble on the burgers, but they tasted horrible and were stone cold at that point - no way that was real kobe. We saw the waitress three more times and kept asking for condiments. Finally we call the manager over, and she gave us this huge attitude - attacked us for "wasting food" instead of offering to fix the situation, and said she's had to wait longer at other Aspen restaurants (which is completely untrue, everywhere else we ate had wonderful quality and service). The burgers were completely inedible, and the experience was terrible.

We have had a number of meals at Zeno. The food is good but the service is horrible. I would not recommend anyone go here for a meal.

My husband & I come to Aspen every summer, and we love the location of Zeno...at the base of the mountain next to the gondolas! We made a reservation and had the best table outside; beautiful evening, and when it chilled down, I received a blanket and the heater was turned on. Service was exceptional, food was delicious, and the Saturday nite band was fantastic! The menu has variety to it so as to meet everyone's palates. We were elated because of the negative reviews. We will be back!

I was so excited when I heard that Zeno was opening because its predecessor (the Aspen incarnation of New York's Il Mulino) was a complete disaster. I've just had my second meal at Zeno, and I'd classify it as average with the ability to easily climb above average with some minor tweaks. Our group of four had inconsistent opinions of the food. I had the Beef Carpaccio with arugula, parmigiano and horseradish. This was the second time I've had this dish and I liked it quite a lot both times. My only complaint is in the menu description which lists horseradish instead of horseradish cream which is what is actually in the dish. I had Tagliatelle Bolognese as my main course and also liked it very much. The pasta was cooked correctly and the sauce was flavorful and rich without being overbearing. Also, the sauce to pasta ratio was just right. Another in my group had the Meat Lasagna (which I had tried last time) and thought it was quite good. Someone else tried the vegetable lasagna and thought it was below average. My main complaints, which are the basis for my three star rating instead of four, are as follows: 1) The bread was of low quality, it was presented in a paper bag such that all of it fell out onto the table as soon as the server put it down, and we were never given any olive oil or butter with it. I think that the quality of bread and the manner of presentation sets the stage for the whole experience, and this was a letdown (though easily fixable). 2) The service, though friendly, was unprofessional. Zeno seems to favor a method of serving that I just don't understand...one person takes your order and someone entirely different delivers the food. It's a small space, I don't really get why the same person can't accomplish both tasks, which would be a more pleasant and consistent experience for the patron. The person who delivered our food was friendly, but had no idea where it went. In both courses, everyone got someone else's food, which was a distraction. The atmosphere at Zeno is pleasant and it is attractive, but the access awkward. When you approach the front of the restaurant, you see a door which looks like it should be the entrance (because it is glass and leads right into the restaurant), except that it's locked and has no sign on it. If you are perceptive or have been there before, you can figure out that the entrance is through a different unmarked door to your left, which leads into a weird low anteroom where you can't actually see the person who's greeting you (though the person who greeted us was prompt and very friendly). The entrance and first impression would be greatly improved by some simple signage. The dining room itself is clad in the obligatory "rustic chic" rough-sawn wood planks. The tables and chairs are simple wood, but comfortable. It's an attractive look, but the space is separated into a front bar/dining area with a very high ceiling and a rear dining area with a very low ceiling. Unfortunately, neither space is especially comfortable or quiet. The high ceiling space feels to cavernous and the low ceiling space feels cramped. Overall, I like Zeno and would go back, especially if its management takes the initiative to make some small but significant improvements.

We had a party of 7. Restaurant was empty. The food tasted fabulous. The service was sub par. At these prices, the servers should know who gets what food. When serving entree , there should be room on the table. Management made excuses for the service but seemed less than sincere.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
