Steakhouse No. 316 is a true Aspen gem. A mountaineering, friend and I stopped in after a long day on the trail and their steaks were some of the best I have ever eaten. We started out with the muscles which have an amazingly tasty sauce and crispy, hot fries that go with it. I emphasize HOT fries because fries should be HOT and I love hot fries. The LuLu's Kale Salad was to-die for as well. As someone who loves a good Caesar salad, I passed up the Caesar because the way the waiter described the salad I just had to get it. LuLu's Kale lived up to its expectation and the meal was off to a blazing start. The steaks came out perfectly cooked, rare, with a crispy char on the outside. It was so delicious I nearly fell out of my chair. To go with the steak we ordered the chimichurri sauce which was spicy, creamy and delicious. The atmosphere, service and ambiance were top notch, which is to be expected in Aspen. But it was really the food that set this place apart from every other steakhouse. I would come back to Steakhouse No. 316 every time I am in Aspen.

I came here with a party of 10, and everyone agrees that this is fantastic food. I rank this place to be as good as Mastros Steakhouse. All steaks were cooked to request, and flavorful. The staff was attentive and helpful. We ordered 7 different sides and several different sauces - and it was all delicious. I recommend the corn chowder clam chowder, prime filet, Mac and cheese, and mushroom risotto

Nice intimate space with a menu focused on meat. I heard raves from a dinner guest who ordered the lamb chops and another who had the flat iron steak. My standard filet was certainly good, just not exceptional. One thing I found really odd was that they charged extra for individual sauce choices here. (Might that might have added the WOW factor to my entree?) I would not recommend the lettuce wedge salad which came with what I'd describe as a light dressing. Service was excellent and people dining here were noticeably friendly. The have a full bar service as well.

If you want a prime steak and you are in Aspen, this would be the place. Great wine list. Great Steaks. Professional Service. Well appointed, dimly lit and with an ambiance that is very fitting with the Aspen feel. Relaxed luxury. I could go on about the steak, the potatoes, the sides and wine - but if you are looking for a Capital Grille, Ruths, Harbor Sixty, Smith and Wolensky, et al steakhouse, but with a more intimate, smaller scale yet upmarket feel - this is perfect. A great Saturday night meal after a long day on Snowmass. The only drawback was the somewhat uppity sommelier. I like Brunello, and really couldn't give a shit what her 'strong' preference with the RibEye would be, I will have the 2010.

Came here on recommendation. Had a Strip steak with twice baked potato and kale salad. All were very good and service was friendly and attentive as well. Normally, I'd give a restaurant like this the full 5 stars but this place is quite expensive. I've had similar quality experiences here in Aspen for a lot less so I'll stick with the 4 stars for this review.

I give this place zero stars! First of all my reservation is screws up! I made plans for the week of Valentines. They call me tonight to confirm. Ummm. I'm not even in town. Instead of they to solve the issue. This girl starts arguing with me. The worst part how rude she is. No class whatsoever! Just keeps running her mouth and doesn't listen. Where did they find this girl? I thought this was high end eatery. Pls hire people with more class to answer the phone and better customer service! You will not get my business. I bet I'll get better customer service at Taco Bell!

Friendly knowledgable staff. Extremely high quality ingredients. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. I had the American Kobe 6oz filet. Cooked to perfection (medium-rare). A slight char on the outside with a flavorful and juicy centre. My wife and I agreed that this was the best Aspen had to offer in terms of culinary adventures.

Hands down one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. If you blindfolded me, spun me around 32 times, and plopped me down in a booth, I might think I was in the middle of a steakhouse in Midtown. (Not taking into account the two-day car ride or the very telling flight, commercial or otherwise.) I don't sit down for an authentic steak dinner very often, but when I do, it is usually done right, and this place did not disappoint. The special of the evening was the 8oz Bone-In Fillet, which I got without hesitation. Anything bigger would be too much, and anything smaller likely does not exist. (There was a 6oz Kobe but let's pretend it was 8oz too.) There were a lot of other cuts, including a 27 (or so) ounce massive something cut, which nobody got but would be a treat for someone that was really, really hungry. Rare is rare and steak is steak and rare steak is the way to have steak. (That's a mouthful.) When mine came out...it was definitely rare, definitely awesome. Red wine - we got a bottle of Malbec for the table. At $52, it was nicely priced and was plenty for 5 people, with obligatory slow sipping. (work dinner) Rewinding a little, we got the onion ring tower for an app, which was best dipped in their homemade steak sauce. In fact, I'm pretty sure most food items would taste better with this sauce on it. Sides - we got pretty much all of them. The creamed spinach seemed to be a fan favorite for most, and along with the potatoes and veggies, everyone had a full plate. The sides are big, but with a group of 4+ that share a common affinity for one in particular, you might want to invest in two. The meal itself wasn't cheap, but places like this rarely are. Should you find yourself in Aspen, this is a must try.

Wowzers. Steak isn't a steak unless it comes from a steak house. This place is no joke. Seriously, the salads were even delicious. All sides were amazing and I don't even need to explain how crazy delicious the steak was. This place has great service and an amazing menu. If you like steak or if your man, you need to come here and eat some meat!

Wonderful experience. Had a party of 10, and they put us in a very nice private area. Service was excellent. Drinks were delicious, and the food was fantastic. Mushroom risotto was an incredible side.

If you want super expensive slightly above average food go here. The wine list was ridiculously overpriced. The best value was the mega chunk of bread pudding for $15 which was enough for a party of 6 to share. The service wasn't great. Our bread, plates and knives were whisked away while we were still eating it and when we said we still wanted bread we got 2 slices without plates or knives. The wrong steaks were set in front of the wrong people. I've never been to a steakhouse where the sauce cost extra. The Cognac Peppercorn Demi sauce at $5 arrived in a large gravy boat. I expected a demi sauce to be rich and slightly thick but this was just a runny, overly peppered sauce and many of us at the table didn't use much of the sauce. The steaks were tasty and flavorful though and cooked just right. The steaks were served in cast iron skillets which made it hard to eat. The sides were meager in portion, it cost about $1 for each thin spear of asparagus. The loaded twice baked potato and the brussels sprouts were the best of the sides we ordered. If you eat here hopefully you have a flashlight app on your phone or an actual flashlight. Tables around us also had to use their phone lights to see. The place is dark. Maybe the food would have been more enjoyable if we could see what we were eating.

We went here for Thanksgiving dinner. Amazing food, great service, and wonderful ambiance. We had the Thanksgiving special (turkey and sides) and a bone-in filet. Both were tasty and cooked to perfection. This is a great spot for dinner in Aspen.

Came here after reading all of the great reviews on yelp and left mildly disappointed. This place us generally overpriced for the quality of the food. The kale salad was great to start and they have a fairly nice wine selection. We ordered a New York strip that came out medium instead of medium rare. When the second steal arrived, it was so covered in seasoning and salt that we could barely eat it. The sides were also incredibly salty and hard to eat. The service was good, but I wouldn't recommend coming here with the great selection of restaurants to choose from in aspen. We sat on the patio and heard several people walking by discuss how mediocre this restaurant was. I guess that's why you'll also notice that there are no check-in regulars on yelp.

I ordered a Kale salad to begin. It had tons of flavor and was finely chopped. Next course was the American Kobe fillet. Creamed spinach & Thyme mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. I finally have a favorite steakhouse in Colorado. This place is the bomb.

Love this steakhouse!! Nice atmosphere... small, private, dim but vibrant, classy. Good service - good mirroring by staff - talkative with customers when desired, or all business when privacy is preferred. Food is excellent - all the food - the steaks, the seafood, and the sides! Especially love the ribeye (plenty for 2 people with side dishes), the crab legs, and the mac-n-cheese side. Pricey, but worth it, whether it's a special occasion or not... would definitely recommend.

I would say this was my fourth favorite meal in Aspen. Also, and surprisingly, the most expensive. We went to restaurants that other Yelpers have rated as "very expensive" but at least they were worth it. We had a good meal here (the lamb was excellent, but the onion rings over-breaded and the Au Gratin Potatoes not even 1/4 as good as what my husband makes at home). Also, although the "skillets" they served the entrees in are cute, they are a pain in the behind to eat out of. The service was excellent, but I would say this meal was too expensive and I would much rather eat somewhere else next trip.

It was my birthday and my husband and I chose to celebrate it in Aspen. He planned the perfect day for me that included a dinner at the Stake House No. 316 because we were recommended that it was the best of the best. He made the reservation for Sunday night and called it in the reservation stating that it was my birthday giving the person on the phone (an english accent gentleman) my name and age (thinking that we will get a surprise candle with the dessert)! I was very excited about it!! So we got there and it was an upscale look and packed restaurant which made me think it was one of the best in the area. I liked it. First I ordered an alcohol free cocktail. The waitress said they could make only basic cocktails that I was ok with. She told me that they would put a small amount of pineapple juice and other juices together. I was happy with the idea that they would be able to accomodate my request. After she brought out "the alcohol free cocktail" I discovered that it was more like a glass of water with a lot of lemon juice and mint on top that was so sour I could not drink it. I asked for a dash more pineapple juice in it instead of sending it back all together because I did not want to cause any inconvenience. I thought to myself the restaurant was famous for their food and maybe not an expert on virgin cocktails. I was still excited and anticipated a great night! My appetizer was crab cake and it was one of the best I've ever had!!! I loved it!! I was happy and already forgot the cocktail issue. I could not wait for the main course that was halibut with zucchini-eggplant side. The halibut was ok but it did not have a great taste at all, and I got baby zucchini with baby yellow patty pan squash instead of my eggplant. I started wondering where was my eggplant. They did not mentioned anything about running out of eggplant and nobody asked if I would like the patty pan squash instead!! I just did not eat it, and stayed silent because it was my birthday and I did not want any disappointments and was hopeful about the surprise candle with the dessert. We chose to have the bread pudding. They brought it out without any candles, no happy birthday, and the bread pudding had a funny taste that we could not eat it! We were so upset, but my husband paid $200+tip!!! without a stir-up since it was my birthday. The entire dinner experience was shot because small details were not paid attention to!!(wrong side dish for main course, no candle for my birthday dessert, tasteless fish, etc.) My husband mentioned to the staff twice that it was my birthday. Once at the very beginning when he made the reservation over the phone and once to the waiter who took our picture. In this high end restaurant I expected that getting a candle on my dessert is a minimum!!! Thank you for ruining my 30th birthday dinner!

I wanted to really like this place but unfortunately the only thing that was good for our party was the wine. Customer service was okay. Me coming from LA I EXPECT A+ so this might be harsh. Chefs here need to learn that cooking chicken to 165 is all you need to cook it until. Overcooked chicken taste like cardboard and I don't know about you but I wouldn't enjoy it. Steak was medium rare but the exterior was charred. Seems to me that they push there sauces on there steaks because there chefs don't know how to turn down the temperature of there grill/plancha. Honestly disappointed in this place. Oh lobster Mac n cheeze taiste like *crap* don't buy. Thanks

This place is amazing. I had the 8oz filet with the peppercorn sauce and let me tell you, it was great! The ambiance is just perfect and the service was great as well. FYI, call to make a reservation or get there early to get a spot at the bar.

One of my favorite restaurants in Aspen. The steak is amazing, cooked to perfection (and I believe that says a lot coming from Texas with our incredible selection of prime steakhouses). The restaurant is small and has a lovely cozy feel to it. The staff really makes you feel special which I love. It is a bit pricey, but worth it!

YUM! This place is the real deal! I came here with 3 friends without a reservation and they squeezed us in on the patio on a perfect summer afternoon,. I felt bad for not ordering steak at a steakhouse, but I have to save something special for my next visit. I got the chicken instead and was not disappointed. The portion was perfect, enough and filled me. The chicken itself was tender and not over flavored with spices. With the little room we had for desert, we shared the bread pudding, which I'm not a fan of but this was amazing, not to mention the sauce that has a kick is whiskey in it. Ok Steakhouse 316, my next visit I'm going to have to bite the bullet and order a steak with all of the fixings.

Wonderful experience if you're looking for a traditional steak house while staying in Aspen. Very classic ambiance and formal setting. The caesar to start was refreshing with crisp lettuce leaves, perfectly dressed and with nutty shaved parmesan. Ordered the NY strip with the truffle butter (the menu offers a healthy array of sauces to accompany your meat), and it was melt-in-your-mouth good. Also had the rack of lamb with the chimichurri which was just as good. The asparagus was the low point of the meal, not very thick and kind of soggy. The potatos au gratin were nothing out of this world and mostly left unfinished because the meat selections were practically licked off the plate.

The service is great. I had a filet which was perfectly cooked with peppercorn demi sauce. It was very good. They need to have a section for small children, but other than that I have no complaints

Must stop location when visiting Aspen! Ate at Steakhouse 316 on a christmas ski trip and it was truly amazing! All of the food was superb and family style ordering means you get to try it all. What we ordered for a table of five that left us in bliss: House pinot noir x2, kale salad, onion rings, tomahawk ribeye, porter house, truffle butter, house steak sauce, twice loaded mash potatoes, beets with blue cheese, sauteed spinach, wild mushrooms, bread pudding (ungodly big, portion serves 4 or 5 comfortably), ice cream sandwich with peanut butter snow... nothing disappointed If I had to cut the order down for a group of 2 or 3 I would recommend a bottle of the house pinot, kale salad, porter house, truffle butter, wild mushrooms, twice loaded baked potatoes and an order of the enormous bread pudding Service was immaculate and the ambiance is perfect for sitting back and enjoying the feast. Expensive, but both times I've come, its been one of the best meals of the trip and well worth the added cost over some of Aspen's cheaper options.

We came to Steakhouse 316 with high expectations as it had been recommended and it has great reviews. We loved our steak and kale salad but were disappointed with the creamed spinach. It was literally cold raw spinach covered in cream. We told the busboy about it, he apologized and said he would let the chef know but we still got charged for it. Also, the service was average at best. We had to ask for bread (the table next to us had to do the same) and the candle on our table was not lit. These are little details that we would have expected to be taken care of. The server didn't bother asking how the meal was, she just brought us the check at the end of our meal. If your used to steakhouses at this price point like Mastro's or Donovan's you will be disappointed.

Perhaps one of the best steaks I've had in my life. The 6oz filet was a gorgeous cut of meat. Deliciously tender, beautifully cooked, and amazing with the bone marrow/blue cheese butter. Our table split the lobster macaroni and cheese as well as the mashed potatoes (who needs veggies sometimes?). Both were incredible. Obviously, it's going to be a pricey meal. But for the quality and the service - Steakhouse No. 316 is on point.

Steak was great. Service was lacking. We were on our honeymoon and made reservations but no mention which would have been fine if the service was better. The server wrote us off immediately (Gordon).

Just had dinner here and overall very satisfied. Their menu has a great variety of unique dishes along with classic staples. I got the kale salad with pine nuts and currant and it was delicious! For my entree I got the roasted chicken which was served with asparagus and a very tasty glaze (mashed potatoes also came with this dishes but I nixed those) and a side of curried roasted carrots. Yum! My boyfriend got the special which was a 6 oz elk steak with a garlic butter sauce and asparagus. That was also wonderful. For dessert we got the bread pudding with pecans and salted caramel sauce. To. Die. For. Seriously the best bread pudding ever. Our waiter, justin, was very friendly and prompt. Definitely would recommend this place as a great romantic steakhouse in aspen!

After waiting 30 minutes for a table with a reservation I didn't want to like this place. To top it off we were seated right next to a service station once we were finally seated. Then... our server was amazing, the sommelier was great, and the steak was the best I've ever had! I ordered the wedge salad, Kobe hangar steak with blue cheese bone marrow butter and sautéed spinach for a side. Fabulous! The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Atmosphere here is very cool too. Can't wait to go back.

Great, no, excellent, personalized service. Recommended by Shane at Sky-we wanted a good meal but not Italian fare. He recommended 316. And he didn't let us down! Knowledgable server and waitstaff, pleasant maître d, and intimate atmosphere and , without being stuffy. Food was fabulous and delicious. Ordered the kale salad which was cut julienne style. If you eat kale you understand how it can be tougher than most greens but the prep was perfect and very palatable. Also ordered the filet-perfectly "rare" temperature and color. Couldn't have asked for a better dinner during our stay in Aspen.

The entire experience at this restaurant was outstanding. We were seated immediately and the service began immediately. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job of describing the different offerings. The Caesar salad was exceptional and the potato dish recommended by the waiter was superb as well, it was some sort of spicy potato salad. No steakhouse in Dallas Texas can beat this restaurant.

My husband and I went to Steakhouse 316 while on our honeymoon in Aspen. The interior and decor just reminded me of an old steakhouse in NYC which I loved. We had a nice cozy table towards the back. Our steaks and dessert were beyond fabulous. (wish I could remember everything we had but It was a few months ago) I had a ribeye and for dessert (not really my thing) it was some kind of peanut butter dish. Amazing. Everything from the food to the service. Our waiter, British guy, (can't remember his name either damnit!) who also works at Eight K in the Viceroy was a joy and we loved him. Definitely stop by this place if you're in Aspen!

We've eaten here several times and have always really enjoyed it. The wedge salad is one of the best ones I've had. The steaks are great. The tuna tartare was excellent. The service is friendly and not pretentious and they have a good wine selection. We'll come back on our next trip to Aspen. We take our nine year old son and he likes it too.

After a day of functions at the IDEAS Festival, I arrived at 6:00 and was seated at a great table in the main dining room. A place where I could people watch as well as admire the bar and dining decor. The ambience reminds me of the Striphouse in NY. Dark woods, velvet chairs and a cool, trendy vibe. After ordering my Marker's Mark Whiskey, I checked out the menu and ordered the Lobster Bisque; Bone-in Rib Eye Steak, Creamed Spinach and the Peach Crisp for desert. The Bisque was awesome....it had a strong Lobster flavor and had a spicy kick....it was great with the warm Bread. The Steak was prepared a perfect medium-rare and the Creamed Spinach was awesome as well. Very creamy with a very rich flavor! The Peach Crisp was served with an awesome scoop of Ice Cream......a very yummy and refreshing treat. The GM Christine was a great host....very hospitable. Throw in the wonderful background music, service and super cool decor...and you have a great Steakhouse!

I gave them two stars only because our server was on point. This steakhouse seems to cater to only OLD people with no taste buds. I'm completely blown away that this steakhouse has so many great reviews. This was literally the worst steak house I have ever been too. The steaks are served on cast iron griddle type things that sound awful when cutting on them and are also too deep so it's difficult to cut your steak. My NY strip which was like $48 came out over cooked and waaaaaaay over seasoned(why I say they cater to OLD people because they can't taste anything) so I asked the waiter if he thought the steak was over cooked and he said yes. Brought me a new steak about 15 minuets later that was cooked appropriately but again was so insanely over seasoned that it was practically un edible. I ended up taking two bites and didn't finish it. The sides were also too salty. I feel like they dumped a whole jar of salt on the sautéed spinach and garlic. I would steer clear of this spot unless your old with no taste buds and love tons of salt and a shitty headache when you wake up the next morning from dehydration. Thanks for the expensive awful experience...

The food is pretty good if you're game to pay $60 for a ribeye steak (before adding the cost of any sides). My problem is with the attitude of the place. Around 8pm on our way back from a concert tonight, my wife, son, and I saw the place was fairly light so we stopped in to see if we could get a table. When my son and I went up to see if one was available, the maître d' told us "Sorry, they're all reserved until 10:30pm." Seeing how light it looked, my wife walked up and the same maître d' told her with a smile "But of course, take any table you'd like." Is that really the kind of place you'd like to support in Aspen?

We went here last Friday night for dinner. The host was really nice and accommodating and helped squeeze us in without a reservation and even was able to get us a bigger table when we had a friend unexpectedly join us. In terms of our waiter however I was not impressed. When he came to greet us I said "hi, how are you?" to which he said "I'm amazing" and that's it, when you would expect him to welcome us and ask how were were this evening or something like that. We had a discussion with him if he thought we should order crab legs in addition to everything else we were ordering and talked about it for a few minutes with him and decided to order them. When our food came, the crab legs did not come out and clearly he forgot to put the order in which was odd to me b/c we had been talking about it with him for several minutes. To be honest we had enough food and didn't ask him for them in the long run, but I still was disappointed that he forgot after we talked about it. The other staff was very friendly, it was just this waiter that I thought was a little snooty and clearly distracted. Our food was amazing- we ordered the caesar salad, mussels with truffle fries, porterhouse steak, and garlic spinach. Even the bread & butter they put out was especially yummy. The wine was very good also! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who comes to Aspen that wants a good steak and a good meal. It's pricy but definitely worth it! We will come back but I will ask for a different waiter if we are seated with this same one.

Very quaint and romantic little spot in the heart of downtown Aspen with typical steakhouse fare and a stellar wine menu that makes for nice pairings. However, if you're use to eating at restaurants like The Palm, Capital Grille, Maestros, The Chop House, Ruth's Chris, and Del Friscos this restaurant might be a little underwhelming.

Amazing overall experience. We had the 14 oz New York strip and 20 oz cowboy ribeye. Great seasoning and cooked perfectly (medium). For sides, we had the mushrooms and mac and cheese. Mushrooms were mediocre, but the truffle mac and cheese more than made up for it. Dinner for two ended up costing $200 dollars for an appetizer, 2 steaks, and wine. Deluxe dining experience.

So, we made the reservation about 2 weeks ago. W received a confirmation call today. Arrived at the appointed time. Table was not ready. Went to Bar, had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a glass of Chardonnay. $30 + tip. Ordered Watermelon/gazpacho soup and 1/2 dozen oysters. Excellent. However, they served creamed horse radish with the ketchup to make cocktail sauce and doesn't everyone know you're supposed to use prepared horse radish? Ordered French Fries as a snack, Arctic Char, Haricots Verts w/garlic and pinons, Cowboy Ribeye (Black and Blue), Sauteed Mushroooms, and a bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet Bruno Colin 2010. Fries were awesome. Arctic Char arrived way undercooked, bloody in the center. Harricot-Verts excellent, Ribeye arrived medium-rare. Was Called Prime. Was tasty and juicy, not much flavor. The bottle of wine sells anywhere on the web for $30.. Our Bill: $292 plus tip. So, this place is rated 5 star, supposedly the top of the top 10 list of restaurants in Aspen...The service was impeccable. The quality of the food components was excellent...The wine list starts effectively at about $100 minus a couple of obvious $15 bottles offered at $75. I realize that the rents in Aspen are obscene but, any beverage manager worth hiring can offer a range of good wines in the $30-60, 70-100, and 100+ range. Bottom line, The executive chef must not be in residence or she's not paying attention to the line cooks. This restaurant lacks the polished finished quality demanded by a 4 star, let alone a 5 star. I'd call it 5 star prices with 2-3 Star delivery.... You can do way better.

Since we are in Aspen, we figured we should to try a three dollar signs place on yelp, and this one seemed to be legit. We arrived around 7 on Sunday and the gal doing coat check was less than interested in helping. She was sitting on her stool and leaning to the side and told us she didn't know if there's any table available since we didn't make reservation. She said we could go in and check before checking our coats. We went in and were greeted by the hostress warmly and she took us to the last table available. Then our waiter came. He's so professional we were very impressed. the restaurant carried several wines at reasonable prices, and there were also half bottle options. We ordered mussels and fritz appetizer, then ahi tuna and flat iron steak as main courses. All of our choices turned out fantastic, and we were so stuffed we didn't have room for dessert. We were probably the most dressed-down persons (in our ski jackets and jeans) in the restaurant but we received exceptional services except from the coat-check gal.

Got a great table outside, next to the wall and bushes. Perfect people watching location. We both ordered salads and the 6oz Filet and this may well be my new Aspen favorite. Great wine for a good price, and service was great too. Love this restaurant!

I am a steak lover and this was one of the best cooked and flavored steaks I have ever had. Restaurant acoustics are poor and it was very hard to hear people at our own table. Service was good. Steaks were amazing!

The food was great, the service good, the only thing that we didn't like were the sides that come with the steak. They were all bad. Other than that, delicious!

Before you use the butter for your bread I must warn you there is a layer of salt on top of the butter. It was awful and really ruin my test buds for a good 1/2 hour. Once I got rid of the salt taste in my mouth dinner was great! We had Kobe filet cooked perfectly! We shared twice baked potato it was good probably a little too much bacon for me. We had the ice cream sandwiches for dessert which was delicious!

Do NOT miss out on this place. The decor is VERY cool, and the food is outrageous. Do not miss the kobe filet--velvety goodness--or the huge, flavorful onion rings. The only disappointments were in the artichoke appetizer (too salty) and the chocolate cake (too dry).

Great new addition to Aspen. Not a cheap place by any means, but very good food and huge portions -- bigger sides for example than you'd get at a typical steakhouse. Very friendly service, although they do get really busy.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this beautiful restaurant and it couldn't have been more perfect. Since then, we have been back several times to enjoy mussels and wine at the bar. An excellent choice when in Aspen. Impeccable service, decor, and of course delicious!

Went here on a recommendation from a local and were very happy with the choice...I had the flat iron steak which was great, but Mr. C's cowboy ribeye was freakin' awesome. The succotash side was delish! Had a terrific little table outside which was lovely on a beautiful August evening...decided to spend one more night right then and there.

Grilled artichoke $18. Must have been typo / $1.80? Wild boar ribs on the other hand was super. Bread nice tool as was the house wine.

Good ambience, great service and good food. All well prepared and perfect. The seatood sampler platter for 4 was exceptional. Those prawns were huge. I would definitely go back.

Ah, Spring in Aspen. That magical time of year after the tourists leave, town is deserted, and almost every restaurant closes until Food and Wine comes along in June. This year when summer finally peeked out from under the snow Lulu Wilson was gone and Steak House No. 316 was here. I was not super excited about the change, Lulu's was one of my favorite restaurants in Aspen. So for several months I shunned No. 316 while I morned the loss of Lulu. Glancing in the windows as I'd walk by but never venturing in until this week...the lure of wines on tap was just too tempting. Sat at the bar on a Saturday night for an early dinner. It's off-season so I was not surprised to find the main restaurant nearly empty and only one fellow diner at the bar. The bartender offered several wine recommendations (along with samples) and even though I was terribly intrigued by the 'wines on tap' I ended up choosing a lovely wine by the glass. The bar menu was varied enough without being overwhelming, and we had the option of ordering off the full menu as well. My friend Keli choose the Mac n' cheese and a side of roasted mushrooms. Both were outstanding! By far the best I've had in Aspen. The owner told us the mushrooms are locally foraged by a resident mountain man/forager and delivered fresh daily. True or not they were also outstanding, just roasted and lightly seasoned so the mushroom flavor could really shine. I decided to go a bit outside my norm (I'm not a big meat eater but hey, it's a Steak House) and order the bar Steak and Egg, an 8oz steak topped with a sunny side up egg, roasted mushrooms and asparagus on the side. The mushrooms and asparagus were my favorite part of the meal, amazingly flavorful and perfectly seasoned, steak and egg were cooked perfectly and a lovely decadent dinner. Is it Lulu's? No. Will I go back? Yes. The restaurant has been completely remodeled but has not lost its cozy welcoming feel. Menu is now far more meat-centric but still has plenty for all to explore. And the new bar stools are way more comfortable!

We loved this place. Really friendly staff and great food. We ordered filets with bleu cheese sauce, Brussels sprouts in bacon and onions, and truffled potatoes au gratin. The steaks were cooked just right and the sauce was crazy good. We ordered their bread pudding with salted caramel sauce for dessert - it was so delicious that we're not sure why they offer anything else on the dessert menu.
