The ambiance of this place is awesome! How could you not want to stop here for a late lunch when you're walking by hungry? That's what we thought at least. We sat outside at a very unkempt and dirty area (there wasn't a clean area to sit actually) and the waitress said she would be right over. She cleaned the area and took our order. I asked for poached eggs in which she replied they normally don't poach eggs but they could, it would just take too long. When I asked "why, don't you just plop them in boiling water?" She said yes, but it would take too long, like 15 minutes. Well, ok so I ordered them over easy. About 30 minutes later when we were out of water and drinks we asked for more water and another beer. We finally got our food about 45-50 minutes after ordering. I could understand if the place was busy but it was 2:30 in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. My eggs were very hard cooked but I was hungry and had to eat as the waitress never came back by to check nor could I find where she went. When she finally came back about 20 minutes later I told her and her reply was, "really?" Should I have just ordered them poached and they would have taken 15 minutes vs almost an hour? My husbands sandwich was great! If the service were even slightly better I would recommend this place. Just on the poor service and their response to a incorrectly cooked entree I would not recommend. Again, the ambiance and decor was great and very promising. Wont be back though...too many other great placed to go to.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and wonderful service. The food is so authentic best fondue I have ever had, the raclette is incredible...you really can't go wrong here! You can really tell that the owners have really put their heart and soul into this place and it shows. Everything is simply delicious!!

This place is stellar. Awesome ambience and if you stick to the simple items on the menu you can't go wrong. Great for a light afternoon snack or post ski pick-me-up.

Ended up here completely by accident but were definitely pleasantly surprised. First things first, the decor is really awesome; feels like you are sitting in small town Creperie somewhere in southern France. The waitress was lovely and very attentive; the wines are great (we opted for a Rose as it was summer). We started with the goat cheese crostini appetizer with olives. We ordered the Caprese and the "Into the Wild" (smoked salmon) crepes. They were both delicious. The vibe and atmosphere completely surprised us and we ended up sitting at our table for 3-4hrs. Definite find and not that expensive for Aspen.

Great location and very cool vibe. Open late (midnight). Nice waiters. Very good food. I was full when we left. Very pricey. Crepe with strawberries, bananas, and sauce was $13.50. Four stars if prices were more in line with what you are actually getting.

The Creperie du Village of Aspen is truly a treasure! I almost missed the little sign on the corner of Aspen St. and Hopkins Ave., pointing downstairs to a cellar-like entrance. Passing some folks sitting on cozy benches outside, I walked into the most charming little place with a harvest table right in the center. It felt like I accidentally walked into a hut on an Alpen mountaintop. There were tall bistro tables everywhere, with mismatched cushions and rustic charm on every wall. The decor was exceeded only by the menu and friendly server, Jesse. I enjoyed a raclette and proscuitto crepe with a crisp Spanish white wine. I learned that this enchanting place had only been open since December of 2011, and owned by an Austrian and a French partner. True gemuetlichkeit! I can't recommend this place enough - don't miss out!

Did lunch at the Creperie du Village today and really liked this place. We both had the Croque Monsieur and it was excellent. I highly recommend this establishment.

The food was good, the atmosphere was cute and the staff was nice. However, there was so much smoke in the air from the kitchen that our group of four had to ask for the check before we were even done eating. Because the dining area was filled with so much smoke, two of us had red, burning eyes and one of us was extremely nauseous for about 1/2 hour after we left - and this was in the middle of a rainy summer evening when the doors to the restaurant were WIDE OPEN! I can't imagine what it would be like in winter. It's a super cute place, hopefully they get their smoke issues worked out.

Delicious and hearty French food, and reasonably priced by Aspen standards. We loved the setting, and were treated to beautiful live music.

I live in Aspen and I love this spot! I probably go here at least once a week. Low key elegance and amazing fresh food...great wine and good music and awesome atmosphere. Go here, have a glass of wine and take it all in.

We decided to try this place one night after approached by a promoter. This place is HORRIBLE! Its full of long haired, bearded hippies who don't understand what good service is. This is Aspen not Boulder. Take your tie-dye and peace signs somewhere else. It took soooo long to get even a glass of water. Furthermore, once receiving the food it had so much salt it was inedible. I informed the waiter who didn't seem to care at all. Do yourself a favor and move on to the next place.

Yummy yummy dessert crepes. Dinner I have only had the rattatouille crepe which was great. The Apple dessert crepe and the plain butter and sugar crepe are excellent. Not cheap, but nothing in Aspen is.

I wanted to find a comfortable place to eat out alone which is something I very rarely do. I had gone to a movie next door and was hungry. It was almost 10 o'clock. The staff were warm and welcoming an told me I could sit wherever I liked. There is a nice variety of crepes both sweet and savory on the menu as well as salads, soups and some other choices. I had an amazing salad and a glass of wine. The staff were great. The chef game out and spoke to me for a while. The music was great and mid-stream they decided to change it from French jazz to rock and they asked me if that would be all right. It is in a cozy cellar that feels very European. I really enjoyed this dining experience and can't wait to go with friends/ family.

Pros - wonderful warm ambiance, excellent food. We had three different savory crepes and none disappointed. The decor is rough wood, rural European-esque, with one long communal table in the center of the room and individual two and four tops around the edges of the room, along with an additional half dozen or so seats at the bar. Cons - the space is very small so fills up quickly. We went in for lunch and I suspect we were the last of a string of customers who all showed up at basically the same time. In addition, it was Christmas week when restaurants inAspen are maxed. Service was extremely slow, to the point that all three of us were a bit attitudinal when our food finally came (well after the two top that came in a half hour after us was served). But, our resentment immediately melted away when we took our first bites. As of now, they're open until 2 am which should provide a nice late night option in a town where late night options are basically limited to pizza.

This restaurant is a gem! My bf and I were on a roadtrip through Colorado and decided to stop in Aspen for food. We found this place on Yelp and wanted to try it out since it offers French food instead of American like most places around the area. I was IN LOVE the moment we walked in. The decor and ambiance was on point. The restaurant is pretty small but there is patio seating as well which is nice during the summertime. Our waitress was very nice with a cute French accent. The food...oh so good! I got crepes with salmon and my bf ordered a dish with lamb. I honestly could not find anything to complain about this place. The only thing that kinda ruined my dining experience was the family that was seated next to my table. They were a family of four with two very young children that would not stop crying, knocking stuff over, and bumping into our table. Since it's such a small space, everyone found that it was hard to ignore all the noise. Parents, if your children are too young and don't behave well in public restaurants, please consider bringing them somewhere else because this is such a small restaurant and you can potentially ruin other people's dinning experience.

Why 5 stars? Because this was absolutely our favorite restaurant in Aspen. --- --- --- We stumbled upon this spot for dessert and decided to share a schokoladepalatschinke crepe. That is not a typo, but it was the absolute Best. Decision. Ever. Every single bite of this was perfection. I could not possibly ask for more of a mouthgasm with each chew. I hate that I just used the word "mouthgasm," but there is no word that fits the description of what was going inside my lips while I was ingesting this paradise. The hot chocolate we ordered to accompany this was icing on the cake. I have almost never done this, but because we enjoyed it so much, we wanted to return a 2nd time during our short vacation in Aspen. On visit #2, we were once again taken to pleasure town via the french onion soup. And as much as I enjoyed the other crepe, I wanted to try the nutella crepe during this visit, and it was only a small notch below our first one. I'm purposely not spelling that word out again - even with copy/paste, it's overwhelming!! One funny note: on our first visit they played "Flashed Junk Mind" by Milky Chance on loop the entire time we were there. I cannot ever hear that song again without immediately thinking of our favorite little creperie in Aspen :)

  • Shahzad A.

We had the La Morroccon crepe and the Spinatplatatscinke, which is the cheese spinach crepe. The food was creative and well done. I really liked the cozy feel of the restaurant. It's definitely a place to go for a nice evening out. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because of the service. I asked if I could get any kind of sauce to go wit the food as I found it a bit dry and the waitress did not bother asking anyone and just said no. I am sure there are some sauces used in their food that could have made my dish a bit more delectable.

Simply amazing! I'm French and going to this place reminds me of home! Try the classic (cheese, ham and egg) for a true French experience, or one of their more original crepes for a more trendy taste! And the dessert ones are just as unforgettable! For me, this is the best place to eat in Aspen!

  • Heather S.

Awesome hole in the wall restaurant that feels like you've left Aspen and you're suddenly in Paris. Dark, cramped space -- which is actually quite charming -- paired with terrific, stick-to-your-bones food and great wine. The cheese fondue is what you expect, but the cheese/potato/speck appetizer (Raclette) is a must-have. You cook each piece yourself on a tabletop grill. I had the French Connection (crepe with beef, carrots...). My entire table was jealous -- I was so stuffed from the cheese but scarfed down as much of my crepe as I could fit...it was that good. One friend had the beef cheeks with Gorgonzola gratin and another got the Thai chicken crepe, and they loved their dishes. The chocolate/banana/strawberry dessert crepe is quite good. Overall, I found this to be a delightfully overindulgent meal at a place I'll remember for a long time.

Super Cool and very romantic!! We visited this restaurant on a whim for a late night sweet treat! They are open until 11. We ordered the Big Apple sweet crepe and it was absolutely delicious! Perfect amount to share with baked apples done to perfection, topped with a vanilla bean ice cream and a yummy walnut crumble. We can't wait to come back and try something from the regular entrées or savory crepes!

Good place for a lunch, very good menu options, the staff was good, although they don't do separate checks when you go as part of a group, they will split the total amount amongst the party number, though

The decorations are absolutely beautiful and so cozy. The food is sooooo delicious. I mean I'm drunk from their 50% off on their rose wine but this place was awesome the last time I came sober. So please come here you'll have a lovely time with delicious food and wine. Thanks for reading.

One of our fave spots when we are in Aspen. We discovered this spot during our first visit last year -- we came back this trip 2x! Each time, the experience was perfection alpine dining from the lightly seared foie gras, raclette and the crepes. YUMMY! The staff is friendly, attentive and is very well versed with their menu. The coolest part of being a patron of the Creperie Du Village is that we saw Chef during our hike to the peak up Highland Bowl. Awesome!

First of all the service here was exceptional! Our pup was pretty tired from a long day at Maroon Bells and our server made sure to bring him his very own bowl of fresh water. Not to mention the Nutella crepe was unreal!! My husband had the croque madam that was fantastic :) I will definitely be returning for the overall experience provided by this little gem!

I have never eaten at a restaurant 4 days in a row. If in aspen you will do the same. This restaurant is the best west of france. Quaint, cozy, friendly and absolutely EVERYTHING IS BEYOND DELICIOUS. Menu has every choice you dream of with french food. Veal cheeks are not to be missed. Escargot is divine and a myst try. French onion soup warms the soul. Torchon of foie gras is sublime. Buckwheat gluten free crepes can be created to order. I love the wild mushroom and racellte and Gruyere is perfect, served with a perfect side salad. I feel like i an in the French Alps.

This restaurant is very charming, although very tight. The food is excellent and the service is, too. I do think it's a little pricey for what is served, but that's pretty standard in Aspen.

Very cool spot! Hit the creperie twice on a recent visit to Aspen, once for lunch and another for a very late night digestivo. When we rolled in for lunch, Heather (our absolutely delightful waitress) took wonderful care of us, and we had a fantastic trout rillette (smoky and with a wonderful mouth feel) served with crunchy toast slices. If you like trout, you will love this dish! We also had the chèvre chaud, which was not anything like the chèvre chaud one finds in Paris brasseries, but was wonderful nonetheless. It is basically a 6" wheel of a local goat cheese that is baked in a cast iron pan until it is oozy goodness, and then served with bread and a side of frisee. It was superb (just don't check your cholesterol afterwards). The second time was after a late night of pub crawling around Aspen, and we stumbled in at a late hour. Heather was there as usual, and despite our inebriated condition, was still a delight! We had a nice bottle of champagne and split the nutella filled crepes, sheer decadence! Creperie is in a very cool corner basement right in downtown Aspen, and you'd never guess that it used to be a jewelry store. Very cool but casual vibe, and we loved the sofas on the sidewalk and at the bottom of the stairs. Definitely worth checking out when you are in Aspen!

This restaurant is, by far, the most unique and delicious experience in Aspen. The food isn't just food. It is well crafted art. The ingredients are fresh and local. The staff is knowledgeable . Be prepared to make reservations and enjoy a full experience . This is my favorite place in Aspen.

So this place is so effing cute, I'd go back just to feel cozy. I can only imagine it in the winter time. I love that there were native french speakers working there, though service wasn't the best. I was also surprised that the crepes suzette had tons of what seemed to be mandarin oranges stuffed in it. Not really classic, but hey. Maybe more booze, less oranges that may or may not have come out of a can.

Our hotel concierge recommended this spot to us when we inquired about a great cozy, local, lunch spot. Immediately upon entering I wanted to snag a corner seat perfect for dreaming, and curl up with a big cup of Joe. Their crepes looked fantastic, but we opted for a fondue lunch as it was 40% off for the week. It was a lot of food, and delicious. Their fondue dishes aren't super high quality so they had to reheat our oil for us, but they were very helpful in doing so. As good as the food is I would have to say that I thought it was slightly over priced; but when in Aspen, pay for lunch as the Aspeners do.

This was the highlight of our trip to Aspen! What a charming hole in the wall! We had a party of four, so we decided to just order four dessert crepes and share them all. That was certainly the best way! We loved trying all the different flavors. We ordered the following: -Midnight In Paris: It truly tasted like crème brulee, complete with caramelized sugar! -The Big Apple: The largest crepe we were served, chock full of cinnamon apples. -The Nutella!: Pretty straightforward. Simply Nutella in a crepe. It was recommended that we order strawberries to go along with it, and we all loved it in all its simplicity. -The Schokoladepelatschinke: You must pronounce it to order it! This has a decadent amount of chocolate and fruit. Truly sinful. You don't believe you're in America when you step inside. It's a teeny, tiny place with dark woods and French country style. The owner and host is French, and the only employees with whom we interacted were European. I must emphasize just how extraordinarily beautiful their service was. One in our party has a wheelchair, and this place is not exactly handicap-accessible. We hadn't done any recon before our visit, so we didn't anticipate the trouble. We didn't have too tough of a time getting him down the stairs, but the host table by the entrance created a problem--his chair couldn't fit through. The host and several employees rallied around to move furniture and EVEN OTHER GUESTS to get us in. They couldn't have been sweeter about it. We didn't even have to ask for them to bend over backwards for us, they just did. They did the same as we left. This gets giant props in my book. If I ever go back to Aspen, there's no question I will visit again. Fabulous place.

Hip, dark, and cool, with authentically slow European service and a moderately boho vibe, Creperie Du Village has great crepes, a rustic hipster decor that would impress Mumford & Sons, and a unisex bathroom that features some of the more amusing art I've seen this side of the Atlantic. The onion soup here was so loaded up with gruyere cheese that I struggled to find the broth, but crepes are superb. To top matters off, the European staff seemed to enjoy my struggle to order a refill on my American Diet Coke. All that said, when it comes to crepes, this place delivers the goods. I imagine it is great apres ski, too.

Wonderfully sniffy proper French Bistro fare. The sniffyness today comes from the daily special; cheese fondue with freshly harvested black winter truffles, expertly shaved into the fromage. This oh so flavorful concoction looks straight out of one of those bubbling cauldrons in Yellowstone Park.

We were in Aspen in summer, because my wife was there for a meeting. In the afternoon, there was a tendency for it to rain every day. In order to avoid the onslaught one day we slipped into Creperie Du Village for a little lunch. The restaurant is in a corner suite, recessed slightly below the street level. We got a quaint little table in the corner, with a little skylight overhead. The clouds, the rain, and the overall atmosphere gave it a really Parisian feel. We split the soup, a savory crêpe, and a dessert crêpe. All of the food was delicious, and the service was pretty good. I feel like some of the older bad reviews may reflect a different experience. That being said, this restaurant is definitely Aspen pricing, but that being said you're not exactly at a stand on the French streetcorner either. Definitely check it out if you have a chance.

Such a cool place! Ordered a mountain club crepe which was amazing. A friend ordered the classic crepe which was also very good. Best thing was the chocolate fondue. The Creperie is a gem! I felt very welcome and cozy on my last trip to Aspen. It was a great lunch, where I didn't feel overly stuffed afterwards. The wine selection was extensive and the items on the menu reminded me of my vacation to France! I love the decor in there, check out the community table for a full view of the dining area. I only knocked a star off because the service was VERY slow, and we were only one of two parties there during lunch. Overall a great experience and will be returning!

Love, Love, Love the Creperie Du Village. If you're looking to be transported to Paris, head downstairs and into the most charming restaurant you've ever been and will ever be. The food is wonderful, the ambiance is even better. Head here for a glass of wine or a full dinner. I've been here in the summer, fall, winter, and spring and it's perfect for every season. One summer night I sat outside and above me, yes above me, was a young man from the Aspen Music School playing the cello, I can not make this stuff up. The french onion soup and savory crepes are wonderful, the French Connection and Pure Love are my favorites. Seriously, you must head to this gem of a restaurant. It's just lovely.

We took our 14 year old daughter for dessert last night. She is an expert when it comes to crepes. Hands down, Fantastic. We ordered the Schokoladepelatschinke and The Big Apple. The decor, charming, as if we were in Paris. Very Authentic. Patrons sitting next to us were French as well, Lovely Staff and Service. Our waitress was from South Africa and was a delight!

A decadent meal. It was awesome: french onion soup, truffle fondue, raclette, scallops, veal cheeks, chocolate crepe. Very charming restaurant. Would have given it five stars except there was a screw up with our reservation. We ultimately got seated; the host and staff were apologetic and very nice about it.

No matter whether you choose to sit inside or out, the restaurant is wonderful, but sit inside to catch the smoke from the kitchen. I'm confused about why this place has 3.5 stars, the food was incredible and by far the best I've had my entire trip. The chèvre chaud is delicious to share for a small group or just two, and the beef bourguignon is incredible. I'm so sad to have found this on my last night in Aspen!!

After seeing the rating for the Creperie, we were hesitant to go. But I have no idea why it was rated so low! The restaurant itself is very cute, and the ambience was perfect. We got the French onion soup and cheese plate as starters, and really enjoyed both. My fiancée then ordered a savory crepe while I ordered a sweet one. Both were cooked to perfection. Also, the service was great! They were very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend this place!

I would say more stars if we had eaten more but we just went in for an evening dessert. The Big Apple was wonderful ($14) and I was so full I couldn't finish it--that rarely happens! The dark, rustic, French mixed with mountain decor was really cool. Highly recommend a stop here.

My friends and I came to this place after having some drinks at a nearby brewery. I was super excited about the crepes, and they did not disappoint! I had the Schokoladepalatschinke, which is a chocolate crepe with strawberries, dulce de leche, chocolate ganache, and it was soo amazing! A friend tried a savory crepe and he enjoyed it as well. Two of my other friends were interested in the escargot, but they both weren't too impressed with it. Overall, I would say come here to eat crepes. It's a cute spot with great decor as well.

Disappointing. My boyfriend and I came here for a romantic dinner together and it was pretty uneventful. The ambiance is definitely really nice but the quality of the food is severely lacking. We decided to spend the $70 for the beef fondue which was really boring and the sauces weren't good enough to charge that much for, so save your money and don't order that. The fondue also came with a salad which was just a small bowl with greens in it and nothing else.. they didn't provide serving utensils and hadn't served each of us a salad bowl so it was really bizarre. Also our fondue got cold really fast because they were supposed to bring out a towel to cover it with - when we asked her to heat it up (which she said she would be happy to do earlier) she got ticked off and told us we were supposed to be putting a towel over it (uh, what towel?) Our service was terrible, we had 4 rotating servers so no one knew what was going on. Our main server was in the worst mood and made us feel very unwelcome and like she couldn't wait for us to leave - honestly she was probably the worst server we have ever had. If you are going to pay a lot for a nice meal, the least the server could do is be nice. Unless you are coming here for a dessert crepe after a nice dinner somewhere else, I would skip it and go somewhere better.

My favorite restaurant in Aspen! Fondue is always a good idea, but here, it's chic. Had a decadent meal on Thursday and while it's hard to pick favorites, the black truffle fondue and foie gras appetizer were to die for. Perfect spot for catching up with friends or starting a night out.

Great ambiance, service, and food. Quality is commensurate to the price. This pretty place is a find. If available don't miss the bean and ham with bacon bits soup!

If you find yourself in Aspen and are looking for a good place to walk into without a reservation, I would suggest coming to Creperie Du Village at least once during your stay. My sister and I stopped here for lunch today. This has probably been the 5th time we have frequented this spot in Aspen. It's fairly new, and has only been around for less than a year now. I think my best experience here was the day it first opened. It was chilly, I believe it was right before Christmas, and my entire family sat down and ordered savory and sweet crepes. They were perfect and filling. The quality of the crepes has not been consistent since this place opened though. Today when I ordered the Savoyard, which is my usual go-to, it was huge and topped with seasoned baby red potatoes. This was a pleasant surprise, but the salad that accompanied it was a bit bland. They had also topped it with some mustard, when in my past experiences, it had been topped with a balsamic vinegar concoction. The crepes appear to have increased nearly double in size, which I believe has come in response to the menu price. I wish they weren't so large, so I would have had room for a dessert crepe. (But, in defense, I don't eat nearly as much as most people do) As for variety, they have fondue, sandwiches, soups, and salads to accompany a page long selection of sweet and savory crepes. My sister is a vegetarian and ordered the ratatouille crepe, so I would have to say this place is also vegetarian friendly. In my past experience, the dessert crepes have always been delicious, and on occasion, I even had a complimentary scoop of ice cream added to my crepe. My favorite savory crepes are the Savoyard and the Beef Bourguignon. All the sweet crepes are delicious. The ambiance is amazing. It's very snug and lounge-like with ski and lodge decor adorning the walls. The outside seating is very appealing too, when it's not freezing and snow covered. It's a bit pricey. Each crepe lies somewhere between $13-$18. For two crepes and water, my sister and I were charged a bit more than $32 and left $38 total. As for service, I would say it's 50/50. The service I had today was not my favorite. My sister and I were finished with our meal but waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came to check on us or ask if we wanted our check. I think the best service I had was when I sat at the bar. I would give the Creperie Du Village another star if they could up their service and crepe consistency, but it really is worth checking out if you have the time.

I like this place! Very cute and cozy. Food did not disappoint either. The onion soup had a ton of cheese on it, which I really enjoyed! We had the escargot as appetizer and my husband really liked it. It was cooked with some tomato so was quite different from the usual olive/garlic escargots. For crepes we had one sweet, Martinique, and one savory (magic mushroom). Martinique was pretty good and I liked the combination of rum and caramelized banana. Magic mushroom, on the other hand, was a little bit plain. I would give 3.5 for the food but 4 for the atmosphere. Good place to have a casual and cozy lunch/dinner in Aspen.

Very cute and cozy place. I had the midnight in Paris (creme brûlée crepe) which was okay, the crepe was a little stiff. The hot chocolate Nutella that our waiter recommended was amazing! Will probably come back just for that.

Fantastic experience here! My boyfriend and I were in town for a weekend-getaway, and had found some great reviews on Yelp, and decided it seemed like a great little spot. I must say, this is probably the cutest restaurant I have ever been to. The ambiance is fantastic, it feels as if you are on a private ship with a shabby-chic, romance novel feel. The fondue was phenomenal, the escargot was good enough (very first time try friendly) and somehow we managed to eat too much to order a crepe! :( We did come in on a weekend where the Fondue was 40% off, which is a fantastic deal, so I do not know if I would have felt as great about it if I had to pay $52 instead of $30 ish but mostly because I make it great at home, so I have a hard time over-paying for it. But for the $30, it was a steal of a deal! Service was pretty good, although when asked what her favorite dishes were, our waitress responded with a cute "I eat like a rabbit, so I like the greens", which was a little off-setting considering the theme of the restaurant seemed to portray over-indulgence of rich, delicious, European foods. I had a wonderful experience, loved the small feel of the restaurant and you can tell it is a child of love by the seemingly all European workers and I assume owners. I would appreciate a more broad drink menu (especially beers, us Americans may like beer too much, although I understand it may not quite "go", I think it would be a great addition) Definitely a place to try out for a fun & if need-be romantic spot.

Came here for dinner after skiing tonight. Great place. Loved the cozy atmosphere, with the eclectic furnishings and such and the food and service were great. We opted for the Charcuterie plate, which consisted of several homemade pates and cured meats. It was excellent and very big for just two people as an app. Probably better for 3-4 people. We then had the cheese fondue, which was also very good (and large). The fondue itself was as good as most that I've had in Switzerland and other places and they give you a ton of bread, apple and salami for dipping. One suggestion to the restaurant would be to add a few more veggies (even if it were an up-priced add-on) for dipping. Some bell peppers, blanched broccoli, mushrooms, etc, might be a welcome addition. We finished with the beautiful Schockolade... (name I can't pronounce or remember) dessert. It looked decadent but was surprisingly light. Excellent ending to the meal. We live in Boston - wish we had this restaurant there.

In Aspen for our honeymoon, this was the perfect spot for a date night. The cozy ambiance and atmosphere are straight out of a small town in the French countryside. The food was excellent. The service was friendly. Nothing was lacking. All that adds up to 5 stars.

We enjoyed the Creperie du Village so much that this was the only restaurant that we went back to during our trip to Aspen. We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and enjoyed eating on the outside but secluded patio during our August 2013 trip. The menu offers a number of meal-type crepes as well as dessert-type crepes. Or, if you'd like, you can design your own crepe. I really enjoyed the crepe of my own design: blueberry jam, fresh strawberries, caramelized bananas, and home-made whipped cream. It was so good that the kids both ordered the same thing during our second stop (I, too, ordered it again).

What a gem! A very cool place with funky decor. We needed a quick bite in the afternoon and, being fans of crepes, had been eyeing this place most of the trip. We sat down in their downstairs patio which had a sort of old-west meets french gypsy with a touch of rock n' roll. Our server was quick to welcome us and quite friendly. The menu was, not surprisingly, filled with various crepes split into "sweet" and "savory". The back of the menu had some salads and stuff, but we paid it no mind. Being a fan of Monte Cristo sandwiches I tried their crepe version. The ingredients (ham, cheese, raspberry jam) were very good, though I would have put the jam on the outside of the crepe as it sort of oozed out as I tried to eat it. My wife got something with prosciutto, cornichon (pickles) and a bunch of lettuce, all of which were fresh (ok, so pickles and dry-cured ham aren't really "fresh") and tasty! We were about to skip out on desert, but better senses prevailed and after much deliberation (so many great choices) got the Crepes Suzette. While tasty, it was not served "en flambe" so the sauce was a bit... liquor-y. The portions were a bit small for what you paid (it is a crepe, after all), but we were very happy with the food.

Such a quaint, romantic place in downtown Aspen to enjoy a perfect dinner. The decor was shabby chic, the service was attentive and the food was divine! I highly recommend the Savoyard crepe with raclette cheese, prosciutto, potatoes, cornichons and wonderful mustard...made to perfection!

What a great find in Aspen! While the restaurant is small, the whole place has a cozy country French atmosphere. The menu also offers a lot of options at various price points. We opted for the Cheese Fondue and it is not to be missed. Our server was helpful as well and made a number of good recommendations including the wine. The creeps looked fantastic too (and we're quite reasonably priced) but we were stuffed. If you can get a reservation, it's definitely worth it!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful food! My husband and I shared everything we ordered and both loved every dish from the foie gras to the lamb and magic mushroom crepes and ending with the apple crepe. We will definitely be back!

Had a small meal here but everything I had here was really good. I was surprised at how phenomenally good the French onion soup was, perhaps I had bad versions of this in the past but I was surprised at just how much I enjoyed it here. My friend loved her classic crepe. I also had escargot which was very good, with a flavorful sauce that was not too garlicky, and buttery slices of brioche on the side. Split a chocolate fondue which being chocolate was awesome of course. Wait staff was courteous and charming.

Aspen was a disappointment from what I had expected at least walking around for lunch. I was expecting real foodie places to dine. Yelp didn't have that many highly reviewed places and one was an ordered at the counter prefab trendy place which we walked out of. his place was right where we parked and the foie gras sign on the side walk had caught my eye even though I'm not really a crepe person. It's a cozy little downstairs place which captures a Parisian café (I assume) and has indoor and outdoor seating. The server (owner?) was friendly and did a good job helping us order and not go over board which I tend to do. French onion soup - A flavorful broth not too salty with nicely melted cheese. Foie gras I ordered as an appetizer is served chilled but whole & sliced (not terrine) with a berry sauce and a great small field green salad with an awesome dressing of truffle oil and lemon juice I think. The Classic crepe was very good with an oozy yolk on top, I forget all the ingredients but it had a lot of real good ham and good quality cheese on a buckwheat crepe. Also the crepe with the boeuf bourguignon was good too. Stew was flavorful with tender meat. One can tell a trained chef prepared the food here. I'd check this place out if you're in the Aspen area.

CDV is a good answer to the dearth of good quick dining options in Aspen. Hotel restaurants withholding, it's always so hard to find good food options in Aspen. I like CDV, because it's multifunctional in meeting my eating needs: great for food break after or during ski...or also great for a dinner location. Can good chefs please start opening good restaurants in Aspen? Please? And yes, #firstworldproblems

Ordered a chocolate crepe and a classic crepe. Both were delicious, but it would've been nice if they were served at the same time. The decor of the place is cute but not practically minded. They stuffed cushions on the back of the benches, leaving little space for a person to sit down comfortably. All in all, they are overpricing their food, but the ambience is cute. Suitable place to come for dessert and chit chat.

Party of 9 people. Everyone enjoyed their food but wished they had ordered less and split dishes. The crepes were huge. The reason this review gets 1 star is because of the service. Everything started out fine, we were all deciding what to eat and one member of our party orders a glass of wine while we all choose what to eat. Later when taking our food orders four other party members decide to split a bottle of wine. The server denies everyone's IDs because he believes the two Michigan IDs are "weird" and should be "different". He claims he has been doing this for a long time (looks like he is 23 years old) and said they have had 7 busts in the past month (probably a lie, if you have had that many you would probably lose your liquor license and this would disprove your previous statement). After this we get a new server because the old one doesn't want to serve us (there's one other table in here so it's not like he was busy) and at the end our new server says he can't split up the bill for us but can split it up on different credit cards. We end up having to do all the math for him, literally walk him through it at the server's station where he swipes the credit cards, and then pay the tax in cash because he couldn't figure out how to add that part in. Needless to say we didn't tip very generously and won't be returning.

Amazing hidden gem in Aspen! We walked by this place several times but didn't walk inside until last night. Unfortunately it is hard to tell how cute the decor is from the outside. Once you walk down the steps it feels like being in a french bistro in Paris. Food is excellent, service is great! So good that we came back for lunch today! Truly a great restaurant and a must try!

Was recently in Aspen and took a food tour - this was our first stop. I loved this place so much, we had to come back for lunch the next day. After living in Europe a few years ago, this was so reminiscent of the small cafes that I grew to love. The crepes were delicious (tried the mushroom, chicken, nutella and nutella with bananas and strawberries), a perfect lychee martini, and a nutella hot chocolate... so good! The owners were lovely and engaging and I am still amazed at how they designed the space. We will definitely return the next time we are in Aspen!

Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Worst restaurant in aspen. We ordered, I had a spinach and goat cheese crepe and another friend a veggie sandwich and a bowl of French onion soup. My crepe arrived first and there was nothing in it, hardly any filing at all. 10 minutes later the soup arrived and the woman who ordered the veggie sandwich was told they were out of bread. OUT OF BREAD? 30 minutes later they had bought bread from a store and made her meal. But instead of bringing a veggie sandwhich, the gave her roast beef. she was hungry and the waitress disappeared so she ate it and said it was not very good. They then screwed up the bill and double charged everyone. to make matters worse it took almost an hour of arguing to get the bartender to correct it (the waitress was nowhere to be found) On top of all this, one of the establishments busboys was getting drunk at the bar and tried to start a fight with me as I dealt with the bartender over the bill. I would never recommend this place. With service like this I don't imagine they will be in business long. Long story short, DONT GO!!!!

Delicious dessert crepes, great low-key, funky French atmosphere. Two little girls and their parents loved this place. Close to the downtown mall but with a very different vibe, this place was not only perfect for getting out of the summer rain mid-afternoon, but the maitre d' and attendants were all nice, professional, and quietly attentive. I had Midnight in Paris, which is creme brulee, and girls had the Schokoladen... really long name. Basically the chocolate crepe with ganache, bananas, strawberries, and dulce de leche. Bpth amazing. We'll come back. Can't comment on what it's like during rush hour, but we loved everything about it today.

What happened? We loved this little spot. Great French country ambiance, delicious food and perfect wine pairings. This is what we've come to expect, but on our recent trip our food was overcooked and they skimped on the ingredients. Sadly disappointed. Please, whatever changed, change it back!

Creperie du Village is hands down the winner of the 2013 Aspen MAJOR ATTITUDE award. We made a reservation 7 days in advance and when we showed up for a 7 PM dinner we were shown to the worse table in the house - directly in front of the bar and in the path of the waiters heading to and from the kitchen. When I mentioned the seven day advance reservation and asked for a different table I was told "you didn't specify in your reservation that you didn't want this table. We have nothing else." When I asked about the open tables (and there were several) I was told "they are reserved for 4 or more people." If you're turned off by the incompetent and arrogant service at Creperie du Village head for Mezzaluna, Jimmy's, Little Annie's, or Ute City. All of these places know how to treat a customer with respect instead of major attitude. As I've learned the hard way at Vail, if you are a couple looking for a table at a popular restaurant you're virtually out of luck. After calling Compo de Fiore looking for a reservation over a two week period I was told they were booked. I found out that they only had two tables set up in the entire restaurant for two people and wouldn't accommodate less than 4 people even if the place was empty (as it was the night we walked in to check it out). Great business model. It will be interesting to see if Creperie du Village can survive with its attitude toward customers and its arrogant service.
