520 Grill was my first dining experience after landing in Aspen for a road trip with the bros. A friend suggested we come here, so I was curious to see what the locals consider one of their top notch burgers. I got the 520 Bison Burger, which comes with a cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles for $10. It's a burger at its simplest, but made with all fresh ingredients. The bison meat didn't impress at all. The patty was small and flavorless, just like a typical American burger. I'm a big fan of bison meat when it's done right, but here it was just OK. Not too much to rave about. I'm sure there's better burger places, even in such a small town as Aspen. For $10, it's not worth it, but that may be considered dirt cheap out there. Free water and iced tea FTW.

Great spot for quick delicious south western ish fare. Great salad options. South western Caesar is great. Zesty fish tacos, grindy burgers that don't break the bank. Clean operation, and the owners are great about giving back to the community as they have helped with many good causes in the valley.

The only dish I had at this restaurant was the kale and quinoa salad. It was delicious and the amount of dressing was just right--not too much. This allows the flavors of food comes through instead just the taste of the dressing. I definitely will return when I am back in town.

This local favorite offers amazing food, affordable prices and a casual yet clean dining experience. Order from the counter and your food is quickly delivered to your table by a friendly smile. We will come back again and again for the best bison burger we've ever had!

Came into town post hike with my girlfriend and the original place we tried to go to was closed. We got on our phones, Yelped these guys and decided to give them a shot based on good reviews. We were not disappointed!!! Food: My Bison B&B was amazing. I almost never get burgers cooked as rare (I call it "chase it around the table rare") as I like them, but these guys NAILED it. My girlfriend's was a perfect med rare. The toppings were very fresh, and the secret sauce was delicious. We both chose the sweet potato fries for our side, and holy mackerel, were they amazing; thick cut, fried to perfection, and just the right amount of sea salt to make the flavor pop. The canned beer selection was decent enough to make choosing an IPA tough, and even had some local selections (Aspen Brewing Co). Staff: The staff was helpful during ordering; also very friendly and took the time to come out and ask how everything was while we were eating (impressive being a 2-man walk up and order type place). Price: Was a little spendy for a post-hike burger and beer (~$40 for a burger, a beer, order of fries each), but by Aspen standards, I'd say "very reasonable" especially for the quality. Overall: I have a new default burger joint in town, and would ABSOLUTELY recommend 520 Grill to friends and family traveling to or through Aspen.

The staff here was very nice. The food was ok, but honestly I think we appreciated a somewhat affordable and super chill meal in Aspen the most.

I enjoyed the Swiss bacon mushroom burger on a gluten free bun. The fries are fried in the same oil as their onion rings, so they aren't gluten free. (They are delicious though.)

The services was incredible! The staff was unbelievably accommodating to the point that when I got lost (I was only visiting Aspen and didn't know the city) a member of their team walked out on to the street to come find me. As well the portions are huge for the price I paid, especially considering how expensive and small the portions are at almost every other restaurant in Aspen. All in all a wonderful, reasonable, and delicious place to eat.

I've had bison burgers (and even moose burgers) before but I like good old American chuck in my burger. The burger was big and juicy, cooked perfectly to my medium rare specification. The bun was also great, not your ordinary hamburger bun, but more of a white round soft but sturdy bun. Fixings were great, hand cut fries were great, service was friendly. Not a solid complaint. Can't beat the price for Aspen to get this mouthful of flavor.

Awesome bison burger, hot juicy and flavorful. Special bacon bit burger with grilled peppers to die for. "Pig out" pulled pork sandwich accented with cilantro cold slaw a divine blend and satisfying. Mayo sauce for burger addicting. If you want a delicious hot fresh meal in a friendly no frills atmosphere, bring your appetite to 520 grill. You will leave smiling and happy!

My wife and were driving through Aspen for our first time and we were starving. We realized quite quickly that anywhere in this town was going to set our wallet on fire. We saw a lot of people liked 520 Grill, so we tried it. The bison burger was huge and really juicy. It came with awesome sweet potato fries. They also asked me how I wanted it cooked. Really?! No one does that at a burger joint. My wife got the kale salad. I wanted a little more dressing, but she loved it. This a great place to grab a beer or wine and won't break the bank.

Oh my goodness! Those fish tacos were delicious! Price was right too. Yelp did not disappoint with this hidden gem. The place isn't fancy, but it's perfect for someone wanting a casual place to eat. I want to come back and try a salad. The service was great too. Will be back

My burger was totally "meh" and this place has a charmless fast food vibe. Also, it was basically deserted on a busy night. Who are these people leaving glowing reviews? Either there has been a change in ownership, or a Aspen has pretty low standards.

Had a great salad with grilled veggies and incredible red pepper dressing. The only thing I would complain about and more importantly ask them to work on is getting the v order taker to get the orders right. Must have been owners son, messed up order twice, had to give it 3 times, and when we got the food it was close, but missing stuff and wrong.... Owner fixed it very quickly and without question... Well done! Fish needs to be seasoned better for tacos ...

My rating my be affected by the fact that this was a second choice for us... Had my heart set on someplace else that was closed. Also, the total for my family of 5 was $62.... Kind of steep for a walk up & order place, but that's just Aspen I guess. I had the veggie burger with the kale & quinoa salad as my side. Salad was tasty & I was trying to stick with healthier options. Veggie burger wasn't my fave. Their rendition includes pinto beans in addition to black beans, but the pinto beans were what I noticed most and i just didn't care for much. Hubby got the veggie pita/sandwich. It was pretty good but he thought it was a little get on the zucchini and yellow squash. My son got a chicken burger and thought it was good - he'd rate it 4-stars. My girls both got the ordered the Achiote Chicken and thought it was pretty good. Like I said, our food was all fine, just not mind blowing and not worth the price of the bill, in my opinion.

First time in Aspen, and used yelp to find an affordable, but tasty place to eat. The woman who took our order was very personable and made some recommendations on my meal that made it wonderful. I wanted to try the kale & quinoa salad, but really wanted some protein. She suggested adding meat, whatever kind i liked and told me try the pico de gallo with it. I added chicken and the pico. It was tasty and healthy, just what I wanted. My son had a burger that looked juicy, and he ate it right up. I will go back next time I am in Aspen.

I saw a review for the 520 Grill on yelp and decided to give it a try after a long day of hiking. My husband and I stopped in on a Thursday night and we were so happy that we did. The restaurant is in the downstairs of a plaza and we would never have noticed it had it not been for the reviews and directions. We walked up and ordered our Bacon Bison Burger and Fish Tacos. We had a side of fries and two sodas also. The food showed up in about 15 minutes. The burger was really great. It had a nice texture and was well seasoned. The fries were also very good. My husband ate them all, which is unusual because he is not typically a fan. The Fish Tacos were exceptional. Everything on them was fresh and well seasoned. The grouper was cooked perfectly and flaked. The fresh cilantro was done well too. We could tell that someone knew what they were doing in the kitchen and in the market. I have had fish tacos many, many times. These were the best I have ever eaten. Hands down. Ever. I only wish I could get to this restaurant more often. This would be my weekly lunch spot.

I came into 520 Grill looking for a quick, cheap, quiet, and casual sit-down lunch. The space is very small, but it's nice to get off of the beaten path in Aspen. I ordered the bison burger, which was about $10 with tax. The burger was very juicy and tasted quite delicious. However, I asked for medium rare and was provided with an extremely rare burger. It was all pink, which isn't exactly my favorite way to eat a burger. Overall, fine for a quick lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but the burgers are priced comparably to other burger places in Aspen and good.

Found this place on yelp and was very pleased with my experience. You order your food and they give you a number which they will call when your food is ready. Very good for people in a rush or people who want to stay and eat on their patio or indoor dining area. I got the angus burger and fries. (Fries have to be ordered separately) House sauce was delicious, seemed to be a thousand island based sauce but even for someone who isn't a fan of thousand island dressing, I found this sauce to go perfectly with the burger. Meat was cooked medium rare which they gave me the choice to choose and house friends were freshly chopped and cooked in house. My friend had a salmon sandwich with avocado which had the entire table drooling in envy.Overall the food was fantastic! The price is a little spendy but that's what to expect when in search of quality food in downtown Aspen!

I had the Bison Burger with bacon (at least there was supposed to be, but wasn't) and Sweet Potato Fries. The Bison Burger was juicy, meaty and covered in cheddar with leaf lettuce, red onion, and ripe tomatoes. The food was tasty, but too salty. My combo came with a drink with a selection including coconut water, but apparently was not included and extra after the fact. To sum it up, the burger was good, but fries were too salty and getting burned without the bacon I ordered and surprise that a drink that was offered was extra after the fact and paying it could have been a better experience.

When you are staavin and love burgers, sometimes the stars line up. What a great burger. I don't know if I have ever had a Bison Burger, but I won't forget this time. Juicy, meaty and covered in sharp cheddar, its more than a handful. With leaf lettuce, red onion, firmly ripe tomatoes and loaded with mustard, ketchup and mayo..... fresh cut from potatoes fries, crispy, beautifully battered onion rings.....all piping hot. And presented in a basket. Yep. Its good. Quality ingredients and lots of it - the portions are huge. I could barely finish my burger, let alone the fries. A 'must have' the next time I visit.

One of the better places I've eaten in Aspen. Prices are good too. They took a little longer than I expected given that there wasn't a crowd. As a warning, their pitas sort of fall apart when you eat them. Be sure to grab a fork.

We were totally starving after our long drive to Aspen and 520 Grill totally hit the spot! Located in the heart of Aspen, 520 serves up some bomb food. Whether your getting take out or sticking around for a beer and a burger, this is the place to get some delicious, cheap cuisine. Basically, 520 has a large board of options to choose from. From tacos to burgers, they have a lot to offer. We ended up going with the wahoo fish tacos and a bison burger. We sipped on a couple beers at a nice wood table while waiting for our food and the grill was already starting to smell heavenly. Our food was delivered to our table in no time and it looked spectacular. Without hesitating, we dug in. The wahoo fish tacos were incredible! The fish was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful smoky flavor. The salsa and slaw that was piled high on the tacos was delicious. The bison burger was equally as good, (messy, but good). They added mushrooms and caramelized onions to it, which just made the burger even more delicious. The house fries were crunchy and had excellent seasoning. We ate everything, down to the last morsel. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Aspen and looking for a good burger. The customer service was good and the food was amazing. Try 520 Grill if you're looking for fresh, delicious eats!

Fantastic service. They were almost closed when we came, byte the y stayed open an extra hour so we could enjoy our delicious meal. Great fries, sweet potato fries, veggie burgers and terrific bison burger.

We had a veggie pita and a chicken pita! Tasted really good. The side salad was also simple and tasty. We didn't have to wait long for the food. Should try this place if you're in Aspen.
