Come here early so you can get the Cheese and Artichoke souffle! Nice and pipping hot when you get em. Really delish! Employees are all nice.

What a gloppy mess of a sandwich! I am so, so disappointed. The only and I repeat Only redeeming thing about this Sammie is the volume of meat. Period , end of game, point over. A huge mess of under heated goo. I am so frigging mad and disappointed that I can't even finish this review.

So... I have a lot of lunches catered for my business meetings, and I am spoiled to have gone to other Panera locations where there is an area dedicated to pick up/phone orders... I arrived, and had to wait in line in back of 8 other people before I could get to the front and let them know that I had a phone order to pick up.. Then the gal handed me 3 cups. I asked what drinks were ordered, and she said "It doesn't say on the receipt" I think that there should be a way to document it, especially when one person is picking up a group order. Finally, when I returned to my office to conduct our lunch, I apologized for being late, as I had to wait in a very long line to pick up... and they told me they weren't surprised, that there must be new people there, because when they attempted the phone order, the person on the phone said they didn't do that... And only till she was insistent that she has placed a phone order in the past did they accommodate her... They asked where the bread was, and I said I picked up whatever they placed in the bag, and that the gal that handed it to me said that was the complete order...Well, they missed the bread, so their soup went without :(

I totally expected the food to be great since it was organic like the chicken and eggs. BUT its not great. Ive had the chicken tortellini which was a total disappointment, i had to force myself to eat the chicken so i wouldn't waste it or my money. It wasn't delicious. Ive had the egg white spinach avocado sandwich and it was not great either. I even put salt but it didn't make a difference. The cheese wasn't even melted. Ive had the turkey avocado sandwich. Its just bland, no good flavor or anything. Wont be returning for food. The ONLY good thing there was the bread. Bread was delicious. Power fruit smoothie was okay. Lemonade is okay too. I wouldn't waste my money here on their food.

This Panera served as a stopover on a trip up the 99, resulting in a mixed experience. Bread is indeed their forte, but other than that I didn't find a lot - at least at this particular location - to go out of the way for. First off, try your best to avoid coming here at the peak of the lunch rush. Long lines, limited seating and slow service are just the beginning. It doesn't help that Panera has a more complex menu that most fast casual joints, which guarantees a lot of questions and slower lines at the registers. My turkey BLT sandwich and soup combo was probably the biggest disappointment. The "half" sandwich was really more of a 1/3rd sandwich, and I'm not even basing this off the steroidal portions you'll see at chains these days. The sandwich I got was delicious though. The chicken noodle soup was piping hot and chock full of fresh cut veggies. The bread, as I mentioned, was on point. I should also give them credit for having a clean bathroom with a decent, safe and operable changing station. That's sadly never a guarantee when your newborn decides to take the most inopportune moment (crowded restaurant) to shit his diaper.

Quick update to my previous, positive review. We've ordered take-out from here a couple of times for work meetings and the quality and service was excellent. It's now our go-to spot for lunch meetings :-)

This place has a great selection of salad, soups and sandwiches. The only thing that really stops me from going here though is how overpriced it it though :-/ I hoe early don't think it's fair to charge someone that order a half salad and sandwich and a bowl of soup and a drink $16. Something about that doesn't sit right with me. I would much rather spend a few more dollars and go somewhere else and get more for my money. This place does however have nice seating inside and outside and is a nice place if you want something casual. But be warned, it is on the pricey side.

I love Panera. It's my go-to when I have some extra cash to burn. The soups and breads are wonderful. My past employer used to offer a cake or Panera bagels for your birthday. Needless to say, 90% of people opted for the bagels. Awesome stuff!

I've been to this Panera many times, so I guess I should review it. One of my favorite items on the menu is the the Frontega Chicken Panini. I love how it always arrives hot off the grill. The cheese is all melted, and the chicken is tender and moist. I really like how the Focaccia comes toasted with the Panini lines visible. It's just the perfect amount of crunch for a sandwich. I'm a big fan of the bread at Panera, so I always order the baguette as my side. But I would trade it for some more of the Focaccia in a heartbeat. It gets crowded at lunch both inside and outside in the parking lot, so arrive early!

Great delicious food! But the service was terrible The cashiers were unfriendly. The manager that rang me up was unfriendly and rude too

Love Panera. It's definitely a go to for our family on a Saturday morning. There's something for everyone from bagels, pastries, salads, pastas, sandwiches, and coffee of course ;) Only thing negative thing is sometimes the breakfast sandwiches aren't consistent. But I will say this, more times than not, I get a well made sandwich.

Just another Panera Bread. It was almost empty at 8:30pm on a Sunday night. I got the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with Tomato-Basil soup. We also got an order of Butternut Squash soup. I didn't really like the Chicken sandwich, though it is my usual order at any Panera Bread.

I had the worst experience last night ;( the food was good but the service was bad. One of the employees came out and asked me if I was done with my food and clearly I didn't even start. Also, on top of that, my bread bowl was crooked and the soup spilled all over the plate, my chips was very messy and when I brought it to there attention they said "the bread is cut like that, what do you want me to do" very unprofessional staff.

Fast, clean, and friendly. The food was delicious and people were super nice and my food was ready by the time I sat down. Tables were being cleaned as soon as people were leaving. I'll be back for sure.

Went in today Tuesday out of all days! since it is their baker's bagel deal. Asked the lady at the counter if I could get a jalapeno bagel, she replies " we don't have any" I said, it's a jalapeno bagel I usually get it maybe it's called something else? she replies and points at the basket "we don't have any" her attitude was nasty. Too bad I didn't get her name, I would have wrote it here. I asked, do you guys just not make them anymore or did you run out? she answers again and once again she points at the stupid basket and says "we don't have any" Geeezzz how hard is it to say we ran out, would you like to wait for the other ones to come out or make some suggestions!! seriously, all the comments about customer service are correct. So I proceed to order an asiago cheese bagel and guess what!? she answers once again, "we don't have any" Are you serious? on a Tuesday you run out of bagels when you have a great deal going on? Whatever that is besides the point. Now I'm getting annoyed with her answers. I finally ended up ordering an asiago roll (which is actually pretty delicious.) So I wanted a coffee and i asked her if they had iced coffe and she says yea, and gives me an empty cup. So I pay and stand there waiting for my "iced coffe" well idk what this is, some sort of do it all yourself shop but, after standing there for a bit, I ask, do I go somewhere else to get the coffee? she says the machines are all the way over there? oookkkkaaayyyyyy???? woowwww..... as I go to the soda machine there is for sure a coffee maker that says "iced coffee, and the creamer on the side, and the sugar on the side. Well not exactly what i expected but now i know better! Just one suggestion, PANERA YOU HAVE GREAT BREAD AND GREAT BAKERS! BUT YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY CONSIDER PUTTING SOME TIME INTO TRAIN YOUR CASHIER'S AND TEACH THEM ALL ABOUT PEOPLE SKILLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am just going to stick to Old Tyme Bakery and Starbucks for now.

After reading all the good reviews I couldn't wait to try this place. I love clam chowder so my husband and I both ordered the chowder in bread bowls. I was surprised how small the bread bowls were. I took like 5 bites of soup and it was gone. I swear there must of been half a cup or less in there. My husband kept scrapping the bread bowl and was commenting on how little there was. I did not even like the soup but I was still hungry. My husband ordered a sandwich because he was still starving. He liked the soup and said he would return but he would try something else. I don't think I will be coming back. The bread didn't seem very fresh either. I would of been better off eating a bowl if soup from home and it would of filled me up!

LOVE the bagels & the veggie sammich!! They've never messed up at order here, and they're always super nice & make sure they repeat my order so they don't "dairy me" & ruin the rest of my day. It is really annoying when the place is packed & hard to find a seat when you're holding your food, and all the seats are filled with people sitting with laptops, just wasting space! They need a separate area for "loungers" so people that actually have food to eat have some seating available! Other than that, love this place!

The food is great, like at other Paneras. Service? Employees look miserable and have had a couple rude ones on several occasions.

As I sit here eating my chicken Cobb salad I wonder why I paid so much for an ok salad and an ice tea. Yes, it's convenient because of location, space, quick service and free wifi, but I don't think the quality of food fits the price. I'll think twice before I come back, I rather take my money else where and receive customer service and a dine in experience with the amount of money I paid for a quick fast food service where I bus my own table here and might I add its freezing, turn down the AC please.

Bear claws are amazing as well as their asiago cheese bagels. I love to have the chives and onion cream cheese. It's definitely a place I'd go to again and recommend to my friends.

Delicious turkey sandwhich and half of a classic salad. Perfect lunch and I got a pastry for .99. Lunch was a great price. I definitely will be back! Staff was very friendly for it being our first time there.

Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Panera always has been a healthy option to eating when on the go. Breakfast: My personal favorite bagel with cream cheese is the jalapeno and cheddar bagel with the veggie cream cheese! They have a large variety of bagels and cream cheeses. They also have a few breakfast sandwiches which can be served on ciabatta bread or one of the bagels. Lunch/Dinner: They have a extensive variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastas. Everything is made fresh to order. I usually do not get anything with meat from here because the meat barely has any flavor. The meat is of good quality however! My personal favorite is the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich with Tomato Soup. Each full sandwich comes with a pickle spear. If you get a combo, you also get a choice of apple, chips, or baguette for a side. I am a big fan of Panera but sometimes, I crave something flavorful therefore I go other places. The Mediterranean Veggie sandwich is very flavorful; that is why I love it! I have family members who enjoy the turkey sandwich and ham sandwiches.

This was the first Panera bread location I went to. I was here after the group went camping Labor Day weekend with, I was with a friend. I really enjoy the food here, I had a sandwich and a carrot cake, both tasted great, I just find Panera's prices to be somewhat high for a sanwich/salad place. I also don't eat out to often.

    (4)
  • Kristi P.

I give this place 5 stars for their healthy options and the food is always excellent. Other than that the cashier was not very helpful and when my date & I got our sandwiches we were not pleased to basically make the sandwich ourselves! The meat and produce was slopped on like they did a lazy job (there is nobody in here so it's not a busy time). Other than my little rant I would recommend Panera.

  • Dwight S.

Service and food are good. However when you walk to get a seat and you see all these people with no food or drink just books and papers it is maddening. For lunch they need to monitor their dining room a little better and push those people out so paying customers can find a seat. Back on December 11th, 2013 Finding a table is still difficult. Most people are not even eating. Just taking up space doing homework. I had to sit close to the door where it is sooooo cold.

Although I've only been here four times I can definitely say the food is really good. Their customer service is good too. I have gotten the "You Pick 2". I've tried the Broccoli cheddar and it is very creamy and fill of flavor. I have also gotten the Smoked Turkey sandwich and it is very rich in flavor. I have gotten their strawberry smoothie and iced green tea. All very good food at a decent price. Their service is Respectful and prompt. Unique system of ordering with the buzzers that vibrate when your order is ready.

What happened to the service?! Food is fine but nobody cares about even pretending to be nice. Can't stand places that act like you're bugging them by being a customer.

The place is very clean. Great customer service and a very nice set up. It is roomy and there is even a conference table for larger groups. It is the perfect place to study because of the cozy atmosphere. There rewards card comes in handy too. Many good offers like free drink or pastry is a great treat. This is my favorite place in eat in Turlock.

Delicious food and drinks with awesome atmosphere! The staff was friendly and fast with their service. Delicious food. I definitely recommend their asiago bagels! Yum! Overall great food but on the pricey side for a 'cheap meal' if you are looking for something cheap (student). But you pay for the quality you get!

I must add that this may be the best Panera store in California. I had the vegetable sandwich it was so sweet tasting I was in Heavens . This was delicious and never have these tasted so good . Then I tried their cookie and again this was the best tasting cookie. I may have to drive 300 miles to come back here again.

Omg I love panera! Could literally eat here every day. Broccoli cheddar soup over EVERYTHING!!! The chicken Caesar sandwich is heaven and I DIE for their chocolate croissants warmed up. Service is alway super quick no matter how busy.

Great, fresh food fast. If you want to order it and leave, you wont wait long. You can also chose to sit there and eat, and enjoy their free wi-fi and the very relaxed atmosphere. Give it a try, you will love it!

Panera is one of those places that I always forget about, but once I am there I tell myself I need to eat there more often. I always seem to get the roast beef asiago sandwich with the kettle chips. I am never dissapointed in the food or the service! The only reason I am giving 4 starts instead of 5 is that each time I have had a sandwich here, I need to open it to rearrange the meat. They seem to layer it all on one half, and I want it spread out, so there's meat in every bite. Other than that small complaint, I am a huge fan!

  • Shubpreet M.

One of my favorite places to have lunch. This location has plenty of seating and the service is great. The food is so filling and delicious that I never have room to eat my free dessert that comes with an entree. Sign up for a Panera card and receive some free perks!

It's great to be able to stop by here on the way to work. It's never really that busy around 6AM, which is great. I always grab a power smoothie and sometimes a breakfast sandwich. Never had a problem with the service. Though, if you want some of their bread, make sure to make it there early.

    (5)
  • Jane L.

FILTHY!!! Run away! Most ALL the tables are slimmy and have not been wiped down, and the floor is always covered with crumbs! I gagged my salad down. GROSSES place on earth...this Turlock location that is.

i LOVE Panera. I've gotten a lot of my friends hooked on it too. It is a great place for lunch, they have sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries; and they have wifi. Self serve coffee, dark roast and hazelnut are my fave. Their baked potato soup (only served Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays... yes i come here a lot lol) is very very yummy. I like the french baguette as my side to dip in, or they can put it in a bread bowl but that's usually too much bread for me XD. Salads... I particularly like the roasted turkey harvest salad: roasted turkey, fresh d'Anjou pears, dried cherries, Gorgonzola, pecans & Cherry balsamic vinaigrette. I prefer feta instead of Gorgonzola tho, one of the workers recommended it to me and she was right I like it better with feta. The cherry dressing is super yummy, sometimes I'll get it with some of their other salads. I like the you pick 2 option, which means you can get half a sandwich and soup... or soup or salad... half a sandwich and salad etc I LOVE their blueberry muffins. Staff is wonderful! They really are the friendliest group. I always feel very welcomed when I come here.

  • Elizabeth T.

First of all, I love Panera Bread. Everything I have ever had there is great! I'm sure many people think the same because this Panera Bread was jammed packed the day I went during lunch. It was crazy! I had to wait for a place to sit with my son, brother, and mother for like 20 minutes! I was really annoyed to see people just sitting with out any food on the table just yapping away while I stood there carrying my baby and food! The employees should maybe push those pesky people out. That's why this particular Panera location was just a 3 star for me.

    (3)
  • Brian M.

One of my favorite lunch spots. You can't go wrong here. Bread is so fresh and great. Muffins and Bagels also... Soups are always great, just sucks when they switch days and only have certain soups. The Green Tea is a special blend they have only. Must ask for a big cup. Also other meals and items that are unique and great also. First time I had Panera was Stockton, now Turlock and also Sacramento.

    (5)
  • Tena M.

Jose does a great job managing this Panera Bread. Always friendly and will make sure he takes care of you for any lunch catering ordering. Good food, great prices. I use them for both breakfast and lunch catering orders. I have not had any problems with them! I will continue to give them my catering business in this area. My favorite is the Turkey Sierra sandwich and the Fuji apple salad. Their breakfast souffles are a great addition to the breeakfast menu. I sill love the Bacon/egg/cheese on ciabatta tho!

  • Karen G.

Bagels and cream cheese? Oh yes please!! As mentioned in my previous review, the sandwiches are ok, but the pastries and sweets are my fave. This morning one of my bosses brought bagels and cream cheese for the staff. Don't mind if I do! There really is no comparison between supermarket variety bagels and bakery bagels. I snagged a blueberry bagel and promptly applied a nice thin layer of raspberry cream cheese, reduced fat of course since bikini season is near. Having never experienced a Panera bagel, I was pleasantly surprised to find it filled with nice plump blueberries. No token blueberry bits here! The bagel was not too thick which I hate. It was not doughy at all. It was perfectly chewy but not overly so. I gobbled up my breakfast quite quickly because it just tasted so good! I will definitely return when I'm experiencing a bagel craving...but only after swimsuit season. ;)

Great fresh, tasty and healthy food. Like that you can get iced coffee and two types of iced tea as a fountain drink. The portions of the cup of soup and 1/2 salad are larger when you eat there, instead of 'to go'. Friendly staff!

Writing this as an update to my original review. At the time I had only tried the bagels. I am still not a fan of the bagels but friends and family have talked me into going there quite a few times since for lunch and I have to say the sandwiches, soups and few pastries I have tried are quite good. My favorite is the roast beef on cheese demi and a cup of French onion soup. Chocolate macadamia cookie is a nice sweet treat.

Great place for lunch! Came here with some classmates for a lunch/study break and found it to be a great environment...on certain days lol. Probably would avoid Fridays & the weekends because there are so many people and families with kids. I ordered a frontega chicken hot panini & a cream of chicken and wild rice soup. Yummerz! One of my classmates ordered a thin crust veggie pizza which smelled amazing and another classmate ordered a Thai chopped chicken salad which looked very tasty. They both liked their dishes and I definitely liked mine so I'd say we were all very satisfied!

  • Nick L.

I keep trying this place because everyone else raves about it, but I have yet to be impressed. The sandwiches always sound incredible when you're reading the menu, but when you get them, they are surprisingly mundane. The chips are an abomination, and the coffee is mediocre at best. The dining room has too many tables for the space allotted, and you have to bus your own tables! They do have some excellent baked goods, but I don't think that's what most people are looking for. When it comes to coffee and sandwiches, I'd rather got to Starbucks. I can't believe I just said that.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Panera and am so happy that they are in Turlock. I'm addicted to their grilled chicken ceasar salad!!!!! The portion size is great as well...I could eat there every day!

the atmosphere was not what i expected but very nice. The woman bathroom was DISGUSTING! i forgot to take a picture of it :( My sandwich The chipotle chicken was nothing special.. In fact it tasted EXACTLY the same as Taco Bell's chicken quesadilla lol For the price of our meal we were better off going across the street to red robin. The portions were small. At first i thought my husband's sandwich (Asiago Roast Beef) was a childs meal. Oh and the cook didnt give us our pickle!

  • Joe S.

I ordered lunch to go from here today. Other than the fact that they don't tell you to move down to the other end of the counter to pick up your food and they don't call out your name when the food is ready... Food was great! Although, I probably should have notices the sign that says "pick up here".

Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. It wasn't until later that I learned it was part of a chain. The staff was very friendly and the food was obviously made fresh and with a great deal of pride. I loved the sandwiches, soups and salads. There were many choices if you wanted to get the half sandwich and soup combo which I often did. The free WiFi is a great addition and there is a section down at one end were those with computers seem to gather. Richard

Food: 2/5 Atmosphere/cleanliness: 5/5 This is the first Panera Bread I have been to so I didn't know what do expect. I like sandwiches but I feel the small portions didn't justify the $6+ prices for some of these sandwiches. I had the Turkey SmokeHouse, it was a very...thin sandwich. The taste was average, nothing really special you couldn't make at home. I feel like $6 should get you a big sandwich with all the fixings, but many of the meat sandwiches don't have lettuce or veggies (except tomatos/tomato sauce). Although I had a good experience, the quality of food and price will not bring me back. Th atmosphere was very nice though, there were 2 person booths which were very nice. It's a good sit down place to talk with friends. The cashiers are also very friendly. I saw alot of families with kids there too.

LOVE their soups - especially when they're served in a fresh sourdough bread bowl! I'll admit... I leave there in a major carb coma every time - but its sooooo good! I've tried a few of their paninis as well, and they are also very good. Always friendly staff & free wi-fi :)

    (4)
  • Colleen T.

Nothing is better than a tasty soup in a sourdough bread bowl. And seeing how I am not a chowder fan, I am often left out. Then came Panera, offering all their soups in fresh bread bowls, even togo (happy little cup of soup waiting to be poured into the bread bowl). I am a fan of the french onion soup and bacon turkey bravo, but I have never been let down by any salad or sammie I have tried. I miss their pizzas tho :-( Also, they offer a great selection of baked goods and fresh bread. Love that bread you got for your sammie? Take a loaf home! Great service too.

I come here at least once a week. There is one annoying cashier, and one of the head people in charge has kind of been rude to me and other customers a few times. As far as the food goes, I have never had any complaints except sometimes there is barely any dressing in my Caesar salad, but they will fix that if you tell them. Love the free wifi, which is at all if not most Panera Breads.

    (3)
  • Elizabeth F.

The food is great but the waitress/manager Maria needs to be put in check. My boyfriend and I eat there once a week and each time she manages to get into an argument with a customer. Very rude with customers and employees. It's a shame such a great establishment has that type of person working there. But again the food is great and the restaurant is very clean.

One of my most loved places in Turlock; and my definite favorite for breakfast. I really wouldn't want to deem this eatery with the usually demeaning staple of "fast food," but some people think of Panera Bread as so (at least as one of the healthiest in America). I love their breakfast sandwiches and scrumptious souffles the most (like at a level completely above everything else), yet unfortunately they only serve these delights until 11 A.M.! Their sandwiches are alright, but I'm definitely a big fan of the Chicken Bacon Dijon. Overall, a great restaurant, and it's pretty healthy compared to most restaurants.

I was driving down the Central Valley on business and stop in here for a quick break and snack. I've been to Panera's before in SF and Solano County and know that their baked goods were a good choice. For a Bakery & Restaurant Chain, they are very good and consistent in their products. I like their bagels and apple pastry, very tasty and price reasonably.

I would have given this place 4 stars. But this is why I think this place only deserves one star. I had ordered the napa almond chicken sandwich, bread, and new England clam chowder. The napa almond chicken sandwich was surprisingly good, bread was fresh, and the soup wasn't half bad. Hours later, I am running to the bathroom. This place had given me food poisoning, and I was sick for a good 2 days. Yeah not cool. So I'm going to assume that it was most likely the clam chowder that did this. You've been warned.

I Have been a long time customer of Panera and never dissatisfied with anything I received here. Especially not the portion size! The soups are some of the best around here and the cinnamon crunch bagel is amazing! You won't be disappointed here.

I visited this place almost everyday taking breakfast to my physicians while i worked as a Pharmaceutical sale rep. They are a wonderful group of people that make my food taste good and my visit pleasant. They have never made a mistake with my catering order (I've ordered there over 20 times) also. Also the girl that delivers is super nice/friendly. Also, for some reason I thought Panera was a healthy place until one day I say on Yahoo that the Chipotle chicken sandwich was the worst in many categories hahaha.

Dude - Panera is the best. So much on the menu - you could never get bored. And it's dramatically healthier (but still tasty) than most quick places in town. Turlock needs more places like Panera. Seriously - go there. You won't be disappointed. I like getting an apple as a side and saving it for later. .... Later!

Panera Bread is an Oasis in the North-West end of Turlock. In a town utterly infatuated with high-fat and fast-food culture, there are only a few places to go to find food that won't leave you with veins in need of roto-rooter. Panera presents a menu drastically different from most you will find within 30-40 miles of Turlock. Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, Breads, Pastries, Coffee, and most or all of it organic and free from other pesky things like Hydrogenated Oils. (Side note: Hydrogenated and Partially-Hydrogenated oils remain solid at body temperature. Therefore, you can imagine what happens when they get into your system. It's like consuming something loaded with wax or axle grease. Literally.) Because Panera stays clear of them, the food doesn't leave you feeling like you just ate from a fuel pump. The prices are also fair and decent for what you are getting. Free Wireless Internet Access. Yep.

I've gone here a few times, and personally, I've never thought anything to be stellar. As with today: ordered the Smokehouse Turkey panini, but it wasn't wonderful...the bread was not crisp or buttery the way a great panini is. I guess I keep hoping something will become a favorite, but so far, nothing has. I am much more impressed with the Village Baking Company in Modesto, where the food tastes much more fresh and home-made. I think the only thing I would go back for is there shortbread cookie, which was crisp, buttery, and delicious. Sampled the brownie too, but I wouldn't buy it again.
