My family loves this place. Best Thai in orange!

I was first introduced to Thai Chili when it was my turn to order catering for lunch. After browsing through a giant binder of menus, I decided on Thai Chili. I was not disappointed and have been steadily going there for their lunch specials. A lunch special comes with what I deem just salty fluid with a dumpling in it even though some of my coworkers rave about it. However, I just can't get enough of their Pad Thai! It's just awesome, as is their Drunken Noodles. I'm not a big fan of their curries though. I want my curry to have a nice consistency not just watery spice for the small bowl of rice that accompanies the lunch special.

People say you can judge a place by how good their Pad Thai is, due to being so simple. The rest of their food must be REALLY good then, but I wouldn't know due to never being able to order anything BUT their excellent pad thai. I have searched high and low for any restaurant that can make such a simple dish so mouth watering as these folks do. When they where shut down for several months (due to smoke damage), I almost went through withdrawals not being able to find the same level of flavor Thai Chili offers. The staff is very friendly and the entire area is clean and friendly, though the water fountain makes you have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. Any time we can't decide on a place to eat, I will bring this place up, and more often than not everyone will agree this is the place to go.

First time coming here after going to Thai Swan for years. Service was a little slow. Drunken Noodle was greasy and very spicy. Beef Salad was bland. There is additional charge for steam rice. Crab fried rice was good. Will go back to Thai Swan next time..

I don't understand the bad reviews for Thai Chili. While we've only been here twice, we (wife & I) have eaten lots of Thai over the years, including some of the glitzy places in L.A. Thai Chili has been superb so far, with everything we've tried extremely tasty, and as spicy as we asked for. Tom Yom Kai is faithful to tradition yet still is unique. Chicken Satay is all clean white meat; Panang is rich and spicy. So far, after 2 visits, we're solidly impressed. It's as good as we've ever had, and better than most. And staff is charming and attentive.

I'm giving this place 3 stars not because of the food but because of the slow and uwful service from the woman serving.

This is one of my favorite Thai places. The prices are great and the service is friendly and fast. I recomend their cury lunch specials, as they come with free salad or soup and are the perfect portion to get you through the day. It is not as hot as it sounds, even though they list it as hot. Believe me, I've been to Thailand and experienced tongue-numbing-hot curry. It is no where near that hot, but it has great flavor. For the longest time, my friend and I didnt think it was open because it is rather unassuming. But low and behold, we discovered a diamond in the rough. I have turned so many people on to this place at work and I have not recieved one complaint. I even forced some people in my office to go on my birthday (my birthday, my choice of place to eat) and there was something on the menu for everyone.

Love this place! The prices are decent, the people are nice, food is great & you just gotta love how they bring you a tray of all these different chilies! The only thing that sucks is that they don't put much meat in their dishes but it's still good food! Definitely going to be coming back here.

I really enjoy this place, the food is delicious, service, and attention is always great.. My favorite is the Pad Thai and Yellow Curry, I haven't found another place as good...

I had to meet my friend in Orange so I turned to my trusty Yelp for a recommendation. From reading the other Yelp reviews, I was expecting a bit more. While the food was good, it was lacking the complexity of flavors that one would find with good Thai. And even though we asked for some serious heat, we still had to add chili to our Green Curry. The Pad Thai, which should be a no brainer, was a bit dry and had no cilantro or crushed peanuts on top, which I think is a nice touch. So, while the prices were reasonable, the service fast and the place clean and very pleasant, I would just give it a "Meh" which is too bad. I really wanted to like this place.

This is now my second time coming to Thai Chili. Service and ambiance are good. Haven't been here when it was busy though. Food is great. We've tried the Chicken Satay, Spring Rolls, Ginger Chicken, and Green Curry. We prefer the chicken satay over the spring rolls, their peanut sauce is fantastic. All very affordable, 2 entrees, 1 app for $25.

A big Thai food fan and this place did not disappoint. I ha vent adventured much out of the noodle dishes because I have only been here a couple times but so far all of them have been excellent! Also, very cool mural on the wall!

It is with heavy heart that I give this restaurant a semi-negative review. Because my husband and I went on a big diet and health kick, it had been months since we ate here but we cherished our memories of the delicious pad thai we used to eat there. Tonight we decided to splurge and order take out. I ordered pad thai with chicken, my husband ordered pad thai with shrimp and chicken, and we eagerly dug in. While the noodles were as yummy as I remembered, the chicken was so dry that it was barely edible. My husband found the shrimp to be even more dry (how that's possible, I'll never know). Every forkful was a bigger disappointment. I have vague memories of driving by and seeing signs that said the restaurant was under new ownership. Can't be sure if I remember that correctly but maybe that explains the marked downturn in quality. Sigh . . . off to find a new go-to Thai restaurant.

Thai-licious! I went here 2 years ago and thought it was super keen, but then somehow avoided this place since then because of horror stories I heard about the service. Seems like they fixed this problem because the two people working here treated me just swell...they were constantly filling up my glass of water. I got the lunch special, chicken green curry. Gee-wiz it was good! I'm always impressed when a restaurant takes pride in the presentation of its food...even if their decor looks like a nice Thai convalescent home.

I hear the food is really good here but I was not given the opportunity to find out. The sign on the door says open till 9:30pm, so I walk in at 2:16 and the waitress takes us to a table and then from behind the counter someone says something to her and she tells us they only do take out after 2:15. It didn't say that on the Window and why did she try to seat us. It was 2:16, one minute late. If you want to keep customers you make an exception for one minute. I will never go back there to try the food. But on a good note I went to eat at another Thai place and it was great.

When I moved to Orange I didnt know there were so many thai places to choose from! Yelp, once again, didnt fail me! Came into the restaurant about 8pm on a weekday. It wasnt super busy so it seemed a bit sketchy. We ordered the fried tofu, chicken panang, beef pad see ew and mango sticky rice. Mmm...mmm...good! I ended up finishing most of the food while my bf ate only about a 1/4 since I scarffed it up in no time. I ended up calling them to cater a family party and this time also ordered the papaya salad. The salad was gone minutes. I dont think I will even bother going anywhere else!

When I first saw this place, I was hesitant to go in. It impressed me after I had a taste of the food though. This establishment offers pretty good stuff so I can safely say that I was glad that I stepped in. The pad thai here is definitely good. However, it's not very spicy, which is a characteristic that I always look for in my pad thai's. It's good nonetheless though and came in a large serving size, which isn't a bad thing considering I can really put away foods like pad thai. The fried fish here isn't bad as well. Combined with the traditional Thai fish sauce filled with chili peppers, it didn't disappoint. As for the service, it was actually pretty good. The waiter was always closeby if my party needed anything. I think he was surprised by the amounts of rice that was ordered. Like I said. Good stuff.

It's hard to find good Thai food in Irvine, so I was quite pleased when my lab supervisor introduced me to this place. It's definitely a whole in the wall because I wouldn't have ever noticed this place with their jenky exterior otherwise. I've been here twice, and both times I got the pad thai since I was craving it after my first visit. It's packed with zesty flavor but without the peanut flavor overpowering the plate as some Thai places tend to do. The first time I got the lunch special, but I quickly realized the normal plate is more worth it. The lunch special came with wonton soup and rice. The soup was good, but the rice was unnecessary with a noodle plate. When I came back my second time, I ordered the regular entree and I got double the amount of noodles for the same price. My supervisor and the other person that came with us both got the red curry, which they both loved. Next time I'm excited to explore more of their menu. Both times I came during lunch so it wasn't too crowded, and the waitress was very attentive.

Good service and great food! The restaurant was not very busy but they did not let that curve the food's quality. The food was absolutely delicious!! My husband and I typically share our meals, but we were slapping each other's hands away! We didn't want to share! Will definitely be coming back! AND they deliver. We've had they deliver a few times now and the service is fast and hot.

The prices have gone up over the last 5 years after they went through some manager changes. The food is still the same, you can get some good Pad Thai here, which is what I usually do since its right next to my house. But how can you mess that up right? Same with Rad Na, Pad See Ew...... Their Tom Yum Chicken or Shrimp is satisfactory, and is not too sour. Their Noodle Soup is pretty good on a chili winter night also. Stuffed Chicken Wings are also ok, with the sweet and sour sauce. Pork Larb is one of the best, but very spicy...WATCH OUT! Their fried fish has room for improvement. More to come.

4.5 stars Very good food and far better than your average thai restaurant (and I have been to hundreds). Decor is a bit strange but the food makes up for it. Also, with dinner prices at under $10 for most items, it makes it a nearly 5 star yelp review (but I am stingy with my stars).

  • Laila R.

This is a really great Thai place! Especially if you come here for lunch, because their lunch specials are very good & nicely priced. Most dinner prices are around $10 per person, which is fine, it's about what you have to expect for good Thai food. When we went, I tried what I always try when I first try a Thai place, which is Pad Thai. I had the lunch combo, which comes with soup & 2 crispy won tons, I think it was about 6.95 or so for the meal, which was great. The food was awesome, I really loved their pad thai. My friend had the green curry and she asked for extra spicy, which they accommodated and she was very pleased with her meal as well. The service was great, as soon as our diet cokes were empty, they refilled them, despite the fact that it was prime lunch time and the joint was packed (not to mention all the people taking food to go...)

1 out of the 4 dishes was memorable the rest was good but eh whatever. The BBQ chicken was so dry I had to choke it down with curry sauce and I don't like thai curry. Everything here is on the spicier side. If your in the neighborhood and you need a thai fix go for it. But if you have to drive to it I am sure you will find on equal or better closer to you.

Another ...Typical Americanized Thai Food Restaurant. This place is nice, if your starting to get into Thai food. The taste is Americanized, to please the mainstream palette. The service is what you would expect from a Thai restaurant. The decor, pretty nice but confusing(seems like decor left from previous business). The staff, extremely friendly. Portions are rather small, not enough to share. Nice place to eat if your trying to get into Thai food. I prefer Chang Noy in Anaheim (Euclid & La Palma), it's popular amongst Thai people. It's known for their "E-san"( I want to say NE Thailand region) food. Cheap too! Also try the other Thai food place down the plaza next to the Thai-Lao market. The food place isn't really a restaurant. It's not the cleanest but they have really great tasting lunch deals, pick two items and rice for $5. Nam Kow Tod is to die for. The Thai-Lao market, this place would not pass health inspection..guaranteed! However, they sell the BEST HOMEMADE BANANA CHIPS I've ever had. My parents come out from NoHo to pick at least 5 bags of these chips. There $7 bucks a bag, a little pricey, but you got to think about it...there plantains. The bananas itself is already cost a lot. The chips go out early(dropped every week), if your lucky pick up a bag. They speak English there so don't be afraid to ask for em (they're behind or on counter).

This place is great. Always quick the fill up my water before the cup runs dry. Their pad Thai is so good. I've had pad Thai at a few places from here all the way to Vegas and this has got to be the best stuff I've had. I love their chicken satay too. It comes with this mustard and cucumber dip that u have got to ask for more of because you can use have the cup on one piece its so good. I tell everyone I know about this place and when I have left overs I always bring them to a different friend or family member just to get them hooked.

Excellent food. We had the Larb Chicken for appetizers, and the aroma and taste were fantastic. With the Thai BBQ Spare Ribs, the meat was very tender and comes of the bone readily. Finally we had a sweet and sour tofu dish that was good too. We were so full that we didn't make it to desert. When we went, the service was friendly and fast. There is a nearby water decoration that is quite relaxing to hear.

They have the BEST Chicken Pad Thai I have ever tasted. The food is prepared by an all Thai women kitchen!!! If you want REAL Thai food, this is the place! The service is exceptional and the food is delish! Prices are so reasonable and portions are large enough to share.

I go there for its drunken noodles and crab fried rice. I usually don't order fried rice because I could make it at home but this place makes it really good! Very tasty enough you don't need extra soy sauce. The pad see yew is also very good! The last time we were there, we tried the pineapple fried rice. It's a little different but still very tasty. The good thing about it even though, we ordered drunken noodles, crab fried rice, pineapple fried rice, and pad see yew. They all have distinctive taste and don't feel like they are the same thing. Make sure you asked for their pickled chili to go with its drunken noodles. It makes it spicier! I would avoid the pickled chilli padi, that's some hot stuff!!!

My wife and I came here for the first time tonight. We were seated quickly and water was served right away. We ordered the spicy sole filet, eggplant and papaya shrimp salad. Everything tasted quite good and fresh. The service was friendly and attentive. Will come back again.

They refused me service twice, yes I went there on THEIR lunch time, but lock the door, switch the sign to CLOSE, dont tell your paying customers as soon as they walk in, to basically GET OUT, WERE EATING LUNCH! COME BACK LATER... ARE YOU SERIOUS??? With that said, the first time i actually ate there... it was ok. Was it worth it...NO! because i was still scared I might bother the sweet ppl that work there...

Hot damn! I got my favorite, Prink king and asked for extra spicy and I got exactly what I asked for. Most places go easy but they did not! This place exceeded my expectations. Only down fall I would say is that their house specials list is not very extensive, wish to have seen more options but over all but their $3 beer special made up for it!

Wow!!! some of the best red curry I have ever had! Sooo Flavorful, Creamy and rich! The drunken noodles are great too!

I've decided that the only fried rice that's better than Thai Chili's is in Santa Rosa and I'm not going there for fried rice any time soon. The Mango and Sticky Rice is perfect every time. It serves at least three people. The Thai BBQ Chicken was delish!! Do not pass this place up, you won't regret it.

I'm a big fan of this place. The service is amazing, the prices are decent, and the food is always yummy! I'm a fan of their green curry, drunken noodles, and fried dumplings.

I came here to pick up an order so this review is based solely on my food and not my dining experience. I ordered the drunken noodle dish to go and couldn't wait to get home to eat it. So much flavor in one plate... yummm

Update: my mom brought me some food to go and everything I complained about was better! Dunno what happened with my first visit but my second taste earned them an extra star! Order the Pineapple fried rice! The bottom line is I'm not keeping the to go menu... The Good: Great service! They gave me a candle for the sticky rice coz it was my mom's birthday and reminded me not to accidentally throw it away in the napkin I wrapped it in. Very thoughtful. Combo appetizer: Good, but not great. interesting flavors but only two of everything which sucks when 3 are eating... Wonton soup: Delicious! mom says it was fantastic chug full of goodies not all broth like other places... Pineapple fried rice: Delicious! I have to admit this dish was just perfect...Pad see ew: good, but not great The bad: Thai ice tea: Ew! waaaay too sweet....Sticky rice: Ew! just not right and they give you very little for the price not that I would have wanted more. Overall: They have an extensive vegetarian selection and I imagine that's why people dig it so much. Nothing compares to Siam Chan in West LA so far. My family and I all like different items, still searching for the best Thai place in OC for all of us. For me, this aint it...

Nathan L. took me to this place because I craved Thai food one night. This is by far the best Thai place i've found within a 30 minute drive from Irvine. The price is great for the amount they serve. Apparently for the lunch deals, they serve the same amount of delicious goodness for even less of the actual price! It usually costs around $10 for a meal of Pad Thai, but the paid thai is SO GOOD. There's just something about it that sets it different from every other Thai place around here. They also serve it with rice, salad, and wonton soup. I've never managed to finish the entire portion in one go, even if i'm super hungry. Place is very clean, service is amazing and they check in with you during the meal to ask if you need more water, etc. Food came out in a fast manner and just in general, this place is cozy and relaxing for a great meal. I am definitely a fan, and would recommend this to anyone who wants great thai food and great service!

came here w/ a friend because of the reviews service was good ambiance was nice but food was bad had the pad thai and thai spicy basil total $16 noodles they use was of poor quality and looked and tasted like yellow chunks of jello ... and a bit like plastic? and the vegetables in thai spicy basil were like canned food why would you pay $8 for canned food? will not come back again

I was dissatisfied with my dining experience at Thai Chili. We ordered three things - papaya salad, coconut chicken soup and Pad Thai. The salad was not bad, not bad meaning I've had worse, but the chicken soup was disgusting. Not only did it look bland, it tasted so. It's like a lazy version of it, like they opened a can of coconut juice and boiled it with some chicken and cabbage. So then comes the Pad Thai, and again, disappointed. The noodles were way overcooked, so instead of enjoying a nice lunch, I decided to create an account and yelp this while my bf eats (he'll eat anything)!

Thai Chili wowed me like the waitresses at Hooters. You want to believe that they're hot, but you just can't get around the orange shorts, tights, and legwarmer-like socks. For Thai Chili, I've read all the reviews, but this place just didn't do it for me. As a result, I still haven't been knocked off my high horse thinking that great Thai food can't be found in OC. The fried fish was battered and fileted, not fried in all its original glory. The beef sate was small in portion, served luke warm and not entirely oozing with flavor. Despite the spectacular service, I hate to say that I've enjoyed more pleasing (at least to me) Thai food at late night establishments spread over Hollywood and the Valley. Eek! Perhaps, I just ordered the wrong dishes? Or maybe I'll just don a pair of orange shorts and grow a set of child bearing hips. Maybe then, the food will taste great. Sufficed to say, I don't think either of the two will be happening any time soon.

Thailand!!!!!! Saturday!!! So wat dee kap bitches!! Here I come! And boy am I preparing for you! I came here tonight for my pre thailand pallete training. Chang beer. Check. Don't forget to visit next door. *wink wink*. Honorary Thai Food Slut approved.

I can say this place is a gem in the City of Orange. It is in a strip mall across from Home Depot at Tustin St, but the taste of the food you order has a special bang to it. I can say that this is not your typical Thai food taste where the BBQ chicken can either be too sweet or salty. The taste has a great blend of sweetness and saltiness. If you hav a sensitive pallet, you may not need to add the sweet sauce to it. I am very impressed with this restaurant. I am definitely coming back when I am craving for some great Thai food.

I've sampled some of the other food and it's all good, but my go to dish at this place is the garlic shrimp. It's SO delicious I can't manage to order anything else. This is a great Thai place. Not only is the food tasty and the service attentive, but they have kick ass black light murals. Sweet!

Wow! This place was great! The service was great, the food was amazing, and its all very affordable. Thank you to yelp for helping us find this place, I probably never would have noticed it otherwise. A good selection of menu items, including many vegetarian options. We enjoyed the spring rolls, pad thai, sweet and sour tofu, and spicy calamari. All of the dishes were very flavorful and served in exceptionally generous portions. If you're looking for great thai food be sure to check this place out!

Our taste buds are so picky. This place wasn't so hard to find but it's quite hidden inside the little dark square. Inside was a bit dark and the whole time, my sister was making fun of what an exciting experience to be eating in the dark. The food was ok -- not superb! I tried the garlic tofu and it wasn't great - a bit salty and mushy, but tasted okay with rice. Then the Tom Yum Kat was average, pad thai was a bit sweet, and the scallop dish was probably the best out of the whole meal. None of the waiters came to refill my cup of water -- and I LOVE WATER ... so I had to drink my aunt's water since she has an extra cup of hot one. The rice took forever to come out too. Hmm, little things like that make me not want to come back. I WANT MY WATER, PLEASE!!!!

YEA, I'm so glad I found a good Thai place that's semi-near to me so that I won't have to resort to Thai Spice whenever I get a craving. First, this is a pretty small space, and when we went, there was this big group of people there having a party or something in the corner so they took up almost all the chairs in the restaurant, and it's not a big place to begin with. And there seems to be only two workers, this husband and wife looking couple. (They are also pictured on their take out menu, hehe.) For only having two people working the dining room and a full house of patrons, the service was pretty good. Not great, but we got all our requests met fairly fast considering that the place was full. On to the food ~ Started off with two appetizers: Beef satay and Garlic Tofu. The satay was excellent! The beef was moist and tender and very flavorful. Usually I need a lot of sauce with my food to give it more taste, but the beef alone was delicious, it didn't even need the two extra sauces that came with it, and you get 5 good sized skewers for $8 which isn't too expensive. The tofu wasn't as good as I had hoped. Maybe I had too high of an expectation because of Laura's review, but for me I've had much better fried tofu at other Chinese places. I would say the tofu was more of a 2.5 - 3 stars, whereas the beef skewers were a 5! Entrees...Beef fried rice. This was one of the better fried rice I've had. The bf said it was one of the best he's had, and he likes his fried rice. I like that they didn't fluff it up with too much of the cheap veggie like carrots and peas or something. It was beef, egg and rice, simple but good. And not super oily either like at more fast food places. I got the Ginger pork rice dish (you can get either pork beef or chicken, or a little more $$ also shrimp). It a dish of pork and various veggies in this ginger sauce. I got this dish because it said it comes with mushrooms, and I thought that would mean white button mushrooms, but it was the cheaper canned mushrooms, so I was disappointed by that. Also got the spicy basil beef and rice. That one comes with the same canned mushrooms and bamboo (also the canned variety) all in a spicy basil sauce. Pluses for these dishes was that they were all very rich in flavor, the sauces were great with the rice which soaks it up nicely. Minus, a bit stingy with the meat. The two stir fry dishes were very heavy on the cheaper veggies, and skimpy on the meat. Good thing the overall dish was tasty, or else I'd be one unhappy camper. Next time I would skip on ordering anything from the a la carte rice section and go for a noodle dish instead. This is a solid 3 star place, 3.5 is what I would give it, but their service was actually pretty good for being a small mom n pop place and that they were still efficient with our service even with a large group there at the same time. Our water were refilled regularly and they didn't ignore us just because they had other larger parties to wait on. Even though some of the rice dishes weren't great, everything was still tasty and I look forward to going back and trying more things on the menu.

I'm glad I just started yelping recently or else I'd have never found thai chili on my own, would walked right by it, is my guess. I have been craving thai foodd for a week, so I finally found some time and did a search here and found this little gem. Since I have only tried it once, I'm not going to give it a fianl eval til I can try a few more things, but the flavors here were promising. Chicken larb salad ordered spicy wasn't--needed more thai chilies, more basil and might have been a lil heavy on the lime, but that's what gets your mouth watering n ready for the main course... Pad Thai (chicken)was almost perfect--flavor was awesome, texture, moisture (no sliminess)was right on--the only slight I have is the noodles were a little too soft(overcooked), but a decent effort...I wanna go back for breakfast--there is egg in pad thai after all, isn't there?

I love Thai Chili! Great food and great service! What more could you ask for? They are so attentive at filling up my glass of water it is never half empty. :D I love their Chicken Pad Thai and the appetizer Bangkok cups with the Cucumber sauce.. .so delicious. I always have a great experience here.

Been here a few times and I enjoy coming back. Their pad thai is delicious as is their yellow curry. I'm a creature of habit so I can't really comment on their other dishes as I haven't ordered anything else. Service is prompt and wait times when I go are minimal. They also offer free delivery, although I haven't tried their delivery service yet.

I didn't think I'd actually find a decent Thai restaurant out in Orange, but Thai Chili has really surprised me. A copy of a letter from Yelp on company letterhead taped to their front window pleasantly surprised me, too. One day, on my way back home, I decided to stop by for some take-out. Hmmm, what to order? Green papaya salad, tom yum koong soup, pad see ew noodles, and some panang curry should do it. The papaya salad (though ordered medium spicy) was not spicy at all...until I mistakenly bit into what i thought was a green bean (it was a pepper). Apparently the peppers weren't ground too well and distributed throughout the salad like they should have been. Besides the lack of spice, the rest of the salad was decent. The tom yum koong was still piping hot when I got home about 15 minutes later. Flavor-wise, it wasn't bad at all. Loads of shrimp, too. The only complaint the wife and I had was that it was a bit sweet compared to the tom yum koong soup we've had at other Thai restaurants. The pad see ew was very tasty and my wife enjoyed it very much. Not too sweet, not overly salty either. Like the soup, these noodles were nice and hot when they got home. The panang curry was also quite good. I ordered it with chicken, which took on the flavor of the curry quite well. I almost wish we had eaten in the restaurant itself. There was a nice fountain off to the side of the dining area. Each table also had a pair of cool looking ceramic elephant salt and pepper shakers and a few orchid flowers as accents. If you do eat in, don't forget to admire the painted sky and clouds along the ceiling panels. Overall, Thai Chili did not disappoint. I will definitely stop by here anytime my stomach is craving Thai food. Update 9/14/07: Ordered pad thai, yellow curry, thai basil eggplant, and sticky rice with mango. Pad thai a little soggy, but still tasty. Yellow curry good, but carrots undercooked (almost raw). Thai basil eggplant a bit too salty. Sticky rice with mango=wicked awesome dessert!

Great food. Had the Tom kah soup, garlic chicken and spicy fried rice. I eat Thai often and this place is worth going back. The flavor was authentic and spicy.

i LOVE thai food. like, obsessed. and this is my favorite thai restaurant i've ever been to. The pad thai is delicious, ginger chicken even better, and our recent discovery, the spicy eggplant, is pretty awesome too. the best part though... they deliver!

Delicious Thai food! The chili basil dishes are all great. I am never disappointed when I come here. And I love that they give everyone free soup with the meal.

Thai Chili is one of my favs. A definite gem when it comes to quality Thai food in Orange County. I've tried the majority of their dishes, been a customer for about 5 years and the food and service has never failed me! The atmosphere is very calm and mellow, on peak nights you get some live entertainment with the lady playing a traditional string instrument (not sure what it's called). The tables are set up very nicely as if you were in a fine dining restuarant, heck it is fine dining at a great price! Service is superb, very friendly staff and they will not forget to refill your drink! I always find myself asking for the hot chili and I'm always sorry 3 hours later... It's hot! But I love hot food... But back to their service, I swear, I took one sip out of my water and she wanted to refill my glass already, it was awesome! :) It can get crowded on peak nights, I however do prefer the lunch hours because you get a more versatile meal (soup+salad+lunch entree+affordable price= happy tummy). I'm not going to recommend any dishes since I believe everyone has their own personal preferences (mine are chicken and tofu) but I'm sure whatever you go with will be delicious, just make sure you there :)

Great food! Try the green curry - nice and spicy! Well priced lunch specials and decent portions. Sometimes they're a little busy and service can be slow, but always friendly.

The food here is sooooo BAD. I don't KNOW how anyone can rate this place more than a 3!! I ordered their seafood fried rice and pad thai to go. There was no one even there but they managed to f-up the food. When I looked at the fried rice.. I was thinking.. hmm this sure doesn't look good but I'll give it a try. That was a mistake! Honestly... I could make better fried rice than that.. and their pad thai was awful. Too much of tamarind and lime... and their prices were too high.. Obviously I won't come back. If you do like this place.. you haven't tried real thai food!

I have been eating here since they opened a few years back and they are always good, always friendly, and the food is fabulous. I used to drive to Thai Nakorn in BP for good Thai, but once TC opened, I was saved from the headache of the 91. Yay Thai Chili!

Judging from the date of most of the reviews, it looks like nobody has reviewed Thai Chili for a couple years, which coincides with the last time I had visited. From my previous visists I have always found the service to be impeccable, and very friendly. My wife and I played hooky from work one day, and decided to go there for lunch since it had been awhile. Whenever we go to Thai, my wife typically orders the same thing, so again we stayed with the tried and true. 1. Stuffed Chicken wings 2. Spicy chicken with Basil and/or Mint 3. Some type of curry The wings were just as good as we remember them. Cooked to a crisp with a tasty filling. My biggest complaint(?) is that with the spicy chicken and curry dishes, were some type of shredded veggie. This shredded veggie took up over 70% of the dish, and in my mind was simply filler and added no value. I have been to many Thai restaurants and never had these dishes served in this manner. For our lunch including sodas, it cost us over $35 dollars, without the normal feeling of having something really flavorful. I would advise that if you go here, and order, be sure to ask if this shredded veggie, and avoid. I hate to drop the rating, but I don't believe the value is there.

Everything I've had here has been very good and I've been here multiple times!!! Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. From the exterior you would never guess how charming it is inside. Items are served with a cute carrot butterfly garnish. The Thai tea is the best I've ever had. Deserts are worth a try too. This is the best Thai food I've had in Orange County. Just a great little place.

I am giving this place 5 stars because for the type of restaurant it is, ie ethnic food in a strip mall, it is superior. We have tried many strip mall Thai places in Orange County, and this is the only nearby one that we return to frequently. First, the place is clean, and they try really hard to make a total dining experience. Even the napkins are expertly arranged on the tables. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. We like the papaya salad, the tom yum gai soup, and the spicy Thai basil eggplant. Someone wrote a review on here saying Thai Chili used canned veggies. NO WAY. This stuff is fresh and crisp. We like their coconut and green tea ices creams, and the sticky rice with mango is delish. I have not tried their bbq chicken, which another reviewer said was dry (I mean, why not just got to a rotisserie for that?) but everything we have ever ordered has been top-notch. )

I've been coming here for years and it's always been great. My only problem is they don't have prik king on their menu. Sometimes they'll make it upon request but most of the time they don't have green beans. I wish they would add it to their menu since it's a popular dish. Despite that, I still come here and consider this place in the top 3 for north OC. It can get busy sometimes but normally there's no wait and the service is excellent I won't mention my favorite place since it's already too crowded as it is.

Since publishing my comments on the fingernail incident, the owner has contacted me and apologized for such an embarrassing incident. He spoke with the employee who took responsibility and he had the place cleaned top to bottom. I commend him for following up on this concern and for letting me know- now I can't wait to eat there again!

Tasty Food and Friendly People. They didn't have boba (I WAS addicted to boba, not now) so I asked them where I could get a drink w/ boba. One waitress in the front, not speaking English very well, told me the other place near Wal-Mart. She saved me. Thanks!

loved this restaurant!! reasonable price(relatively inexpensive for thai), good service, and ,of course, great great food. i took a safe way w/my friend, so we ordered pad thai, tom-kha soup, and red curry. OMG,everything was amazingly fantastic!! i had gone to some thai restaurants in OC and SD, but this place rocked to be one of the top. their pad thai was a little surprise to me because i had never had short rice noodle.. maybe that's not so rare, but as far as i knew, the rice noodle had been long, like spagghetti.. definitely, tasted wonderful. the interesting thing was that they actually owned their website which I had checked before i went. the website had given me the expectation that the restaurant would have been very neat and clean. sure, their restaurant was, clean..neat? kinda, and..a little bit creepy.. hm, maybe because it was crowded that night? or maybe because the location was crappy?? dunno.. but their website looked nicer than the restaurant actually did. whatever! GOOD THAI !! so GO!

I like Thai food quite a bit and for my money, this is the best place in Orange County for thai food. It's a little small, but the atmosphere is nice and the staff always make you feel welcomed. I'm vegetarian and they are able to cater to my diet extremely well. I normally get an appetizer of spring rolls followed with their Garlic Tofu which is absolutely delicious. Their Pad Thai is excellent as well, as is the Yellow Curry. I haven't had too much else from the menu but I'm willing to bet it's just as good. For the price, it's hard to beat Thai Chili. They literally pile on the food for you and I always walk away both full and feeling as if i got my money's worth. Nearly every time I've been there one of the waitresses has put on a little show on the side by playing the kim, a traditional thai instrument. To sum this one up, great food and a nice atmosphere. You can't really ask for too much more in my opinion. EDIT: This place must have gotten a new chef. The last few times I've been here, the food was nothing compared to its former glory. The tofu became mushy where it was once chewy and crispy. The sauce became lackluster where it once was delicious. I don't know what happened, but it's nowhere near as good as it used to be. It's a shame, this place used to be really good.

Tried Thai Chili after another local place was too crowded to accommodate us, not a bad throwback. Food was very good, and service was above average. Mee Krob, Chicken Satay, Shrimp Pad Thai, Beef Ribs, and Chicken Chow Mein, all good, flavorful, and prompt. Now I get Ryan P."s comment on the decor. If they painted the two "mural" walls with something "Asian" in theme, I would have a little more ambiance.

We went here in search of great Thai food after the tragic fire at Thai Nakorn ( yelp.com/biz/1vaZ1HEZCgS… ), where we were loyal and frequent customers ( and will always be if they reopen). The food at Thai Chili was simply stellar and the customer service was friendly and prompt. Thai Chili is now on our short list for Thai in The OC.

they have a wonderfully cheap lunch special from like 11 - 3pm. The lunch menu has 3 types of curry (yellow, red and some other one), thai spicy basil and few other dishes. Each lunch special is around $7 each and it is a good amount of food. The food could have been more spicy but you can always add on some more chilly powder (gotta ask for the spices). we also tried the assorted appetizers which weren't too bad. the fried wonton things were pretty good w/ the sauce. all in all, the food and service was good. the only thing that put me off was that the decor is a little odd for a thai restaurant but it isn't bad. more of a pizza joint feeling....

Went here off a recommendation from a friend. It was ok. I do like the fact that the food seemed very fresh and healthier than other thai restaurants I have been to. I ordered chicken curry, tofu pad thai, chicken pad thai and thai iced tea. It is pricier than my normal spot put still reasonable. The food just seemed like it was missing flavor , seemed lacking in some way. Again everything was fresh just missing gusto. I ordered take-out and glad I did because as I walked in there was a man there who was eating along causing a seen and acting very strangely. The little strip mall it is in just seems shady, next to a massage place and a tax service. I would only come here again if dragged.

What can I say? Its Thai food. Pretty much the same everywhere. Great pad thai, yadda yadda yadda. However there are a few items on the menu that diserve serious attention. The "Lemongrass Coconut soup" is unreal. So many different flavors going on (lemongrass, coconut, cilantro, ginger, tomatoes...). If you go, try it. Also, the Thai iced tea is the best I have ever had. I don't know what it is about it, but it is damn good. Mostly about $10 per person, but there are soe more pricey things, too. The house specials are a bit more.

Walking up to a dark building at night is not my idea of enticing. When we opened the dark tinted doors, bright lights filled my vision. The decor was nice and we were warmly greeted. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. 1 star. The food order was taken in a timely manner. 1 star. Our food arrived maybe 10 minutes after we ordered and was fresh! 1 star. The food was delicious! We had beef basil, yellow curry, drunken noodles, and a chicken dish. 1 star. The chicken was really dry though. The yellow curry, I have to say, is the best I've had anywhere so far. Three adults and we still had leftovers to take home. The chicken being dry and the fact that they only packed whatever leftover rice we had (half a bowl!) was disappointing. My husband slathered the dry chicken with my curry sauce and it was great. They could have filled the to-go container full of rice at least. -1 star for that. I would definitely come back to this place if I was in the area.

Wow... I live right in Orange... and this is the only Thai restaurant near by. My friend and I ordered the lunch special Pad Thai.... OH MY GOSH!.. it was to FREAKING SWEET!.. Seriously!.. It was so sweat I thought i was eating dessert. It was horrible, the worst Pad Thai I have ever tried. Though they had great service, but the food was horrbile.. and the soup they give you... tasted like lettues soup.... I would not recommend this restaurant.

The food itself -- at least MY food -- was fantastic. Yum! However -- our take-out order contained food for three people... and mine was the ONLY one they got right. DESPITE the fact that he read it all back to me correctly. It's far enough away that no one wanted to drive back for them to correct it... but what REALLY stinks is that now I might have some resistance the next time I say "Hey! Let's order Thai food!" *sigh* So -- hopefully I can get the family to give them another shot. LOVED MY PANANG CURRY, though!

I scoured Orange for the best Thai Place and this tops my list. It's very small, but the atmosphere is wonderful. The food is delicious and plentiful. The Panang Beef is my favorite. It's a sweet curry with a bite. You can cater it to your heat preference, but I prefer medium. There is live entertainment on some nights and the staff are all very courteous and always greet you with a smile.

I'm not normally picky about my food, but my experience here compelled me to write a review. About the only thing authentic about this restaurant was that the temperature inside was as hot and muggy as Thailand. I visited this place during the heat wave in late July and not only did they refuse to turn on the A/C, but I had to ask them to turn on the oscillating fan! We were sweating as if we were at a sidewalk cafe in Thailand during summer! On to the food, below average at best. Most Thai places will serve fish in a dish heated by some sort of chafing fuel. More importantly, they'll serve the whole fish be it pomfret, perch, tilapia, trout, etc. I ordered a pla neung manao and it came on a 99cent plastic dish. Worse yet, they didn't serve the whole fish, just fillet chunks that tasted like it had been defrosted five minutes ago. what a let down. The Pad See Eew and kai satay were average though I found myself reaching for the vinegar chili sauce and dried chili in the condiment caddy. Green curry (kaeng kaew waan) was actually the best thing we ordered with a good balance between the coconut milk and curry. Service wise, below average as well. As mentioned already, a sweltering summer evening and one would expect they would keep the water and soda filled but we had to ask repeatedly. I think the manager cared more about counting his money at the back table than paying attention to his customers. (seriously, he was counting money in full view) Hit up Thai Lingo further north on Tustin Ave. if you need to stay within the area. Better food, better service, and the A/C might actually be turned on!

I was shocked when my mother said that she wanted to come here for her birthday. In fact I was elated because I have been wanting to try this place out for sometime. I am always up for a new Thai restaurant. I got lost trying to find this place. They are located in a little strip mall. There is a sign but somehow I missed it. So, we walk in and apparently many people love this place. They were busy. But, the service regardless of how busy they were was still excellent. We ordered a carafe of wine and started out with a pot of tom yum kai. Which by the way was delicious. For my main entree I ordered the Thai spicy basil with tofu. It was perfect. Sometimes when I have ordered this dish at other Thai restaurants it has been too salty. But, it was perfect at Thai Chili. I love it here! I really do!! I don't recall what everyone else ordered. But, we loved everything......... Oh, and we ended our meal with the mango sticky rice.........(sigh) Prices are fair... Food...AMAZING Service....Superb!

When eating Thai, there is one dish that I judge a Thai Restaurant on....dun dun duuuunnnnnnn....whether they can master the art of Lad Nah also known as Rad Nah. If that chef can't perfect this dish, there's no point in trying others. My dish here was served with chicken that had the consistency of rubber, no joke. The noodles are suppose to have that quick fire/charred wok taste to it, null in void. The gravy was ok. The overall taste of the food...no deliciouso. However, THE SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE .....GREAT !

Service was sooooooo awful! they had one lady doing everything- cashiering, taking orders, delivering orders, clearing tables, etc. We waited way too long to eat. The food tasted good, but I think Thai BBQ tastes better. I didn't like the sugary undertone in all the dishes. I like that they tried to get a waterfall/pond atmosphere in there because the water sounds were relaxing during a hectic lunchbreak... but overall the decor seemed tacky in such a cramped space.

I just had a very nice dinner at Thai Chili. My wife, who values cleanliness above taste, was perfectly satisfied as we entered (she has been known to refuse to enter a restaurant with me if she doesn't like the "look") and I, for whom taste reigns supreme, was very happy with all of our dishes. We had the fried dumplings (chicken/veg filling) which were excellent along with the chicken satay - also exceellent as an appetizer. We then ordered (there were 4 of us) yellow curry (excellent), chicken with cashew nut (very good), spicy eggplant with tofu - (excellent) but watch out for the jalepenos and fried sole with chili sauce.( Very good). Service was attentive and prices were reasonable. I am marking this place for my next return to the Anaheim region.

So I finally came here with my aunt and I must admit, the food was really GREAT! And the people were awesome, they even found my cell phone (that I had forgotten) before we reached the door. The only bad thing about it is the space - there are not enough seats for the number of people who come here, especially on days when there's a birthday party. Other than that, expect large amount of quality Thai food and very friendly people who will certainly remember you.

so i find myself craving the food from this place more often than usual...that's why i have decided to review this place....i'm not really a big fan of their bbq chicken and ribs (minus one star)....but they have better stuff on the menu that should not be over looked..... here are some of my favorites: fried fish with panang sauce, crab fried rice, tom yum soup (chicken or shrimp), their spicy papaya salad , and drunken noodles YUM....so if u r craving good thai food and can't seem to make it out to thai town in hollywood....drive down and check it out....and bring some gum if u r on a date because u can be sure that u will be walking out of their with massive dragon breath......

the garlic tofu alone deserves five stars. it is the most amazing way i have ever eaten tofu in my life. perfectly fried, extremely saucy and flavor to boot. i've gotten it twice and both times on the first bite bryan and i dropped our forks and started moaning with delight. then we looked at each other and piled as much as we could onto our plates. it seriously is like heaven on a little cabbage cloud and they give you the perfect amount of rice to drizzle that heaven sauce on. i know the other stuff i've eaten here was delicious as well but i can't remember what those things were because the garlic tofu overshadows them and all the meals i eat within a 3 day radius (yes, a time radius.)

i just had the thai bbq pork ribs, and i must say they were magnificent. they rank up there with the best i've ever had. i made sure to pick up a take out menu so that i can plan accordingly. this is the type of place i want to really think about what to order beforehand. yea!!!

I have ordered food from Thai Chili for over 6 years. It was the Thai food that I used as a benchmark for other restaurants. Something has drastically changed recently. Clearly, the chef has changed. This past Friday I ordered my usual fried sole fish with chili sauce, shrimp fried rice and mango sticky rice. The fish was fried so hard that it was like a pork rind, with no soft white flaky fish in the middle. There was no chili in the chili sauce. The shrimp fried rice was very bland. On a lighter note, the mango sticky rice was perfect and the ordering process and delivery was smooth and efficient. I will try one more time before giving up on Thai Chili because maybe it was an off night and we've been ordering from here at least twice a month for years. Everyone deserves a a second chance.

I've been hunting for solid thai places around the area, but this wasn't one of them for me. The lunch price is pretty standard at $6.95 and the portion size was fine, nothing spectacular but my biggest qualm was the entree itself. I ordered the pad thai and it was a lump of mushy noodles that lacked flavor. I had to add a few spoonfuls of fish sauce and chili to spruce it up but that didn't help the soggy noodles. Maybe other entrees are better, but I'm not willing to come back to find out.

Review of lunch specials. I don't like the sweet & sour pork or their Bbq chicken special. The chicken reminds me of Tandoori chicken (the look.) It was also very dry. I was not impressed. The soup was tasty.

Closest Thai restaurant in my area but I go here not just for the convenience, but the food is actually yummy. Also, partially because I like supporting small restaurants, seeing how they're not very busy during weeknights. Artsy decor, homely atmosphere, overall clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the spicy fried rice and crab fried rice. I only wish they gave more than just one measly piece of crab leg that lays on top of the dish. For $12 a plate, I think they can afford to throw in 2 or 3 :P These are good: - Mee Krob - crispy and sweet (might be a little too sweet though): yelp.com/user_local_phot… - Spicy Fried Rice With Chicken (just spicy enough, not too overwhelming): yelp.com/user_local_phot… - Chicken With Bamboo Shoots: yelp.com/user_local_phot… Their dishes are a bit on the pricy side but I think it's worth it.

i've been there 2x in one weekend tried their pad see ew, panang curry and the fried rice. I think the curry is good very rich and thick and filling and spicy :)... the pad see ew is a bit on the sweeter end. The fried rice was a bit disappointing. But overall interior is ok, the location is a bit quiet and not what you would normally look to find food, but glad i found it, if i'm in a pinch for thai food and in the area not a bad place to go. The lunch specials seem like a good deal too.

Thai Chili is a great local Thai restaurant that hits the spot whenever I'm craving Thai food! I was first introduced to this restaurant by a friend several years ago. We used to order in from Thai Chili (until my friend moved away) and they delivered our order for free. Their delivery service was timely, it was great! I've also eaten in the restaurant a number of times. Their service is good, but not great. They won't check on you too frequently. When you need something, it's not hard to get their attention and they will always greet you with a smile and make sure you're taken care of. Food comes out quickly, so you won't be hungry for long! I've tried a number of items on the menu and haven't found anything that I did not like. The panang curry is my favorite. The red curry was a little different, but I still enjoyed it very much. Other items I've tried are pad thai, pad see ewe, cashew chicken fried rice and pineapple fried rice. The spiciness level is accurate -- if you ask for mild it will be mild and if you ask for spicy it will be hot! The Thai tea is legit! It's not too sweet and has a strong Thai tea taste -- just the way I like it. There are many Thai teas out there that are full of cream and sugar, so much so that the tea loses its tea taste; Thai Chili has their Thai tea done right -- I can't get enough of it! It's not the best Thai food I have ever had, but it is pretty darn close. I've brought friends here in the past and all agree the food is yummy, would definitely visit again. I'm a repeat patron of this restaurant, it is one of my preferred local places to go and would recommend it to any Thai food lover!

I've ordered to-go numerous times when I was younger and stayed at the nearby Crazy 8 motel... for... reasons.. involving my (at the time) girlfriend. Food : A. Their papaya salad was excellent! The salty crab was amazing and the level of spiciness was satisfying to my taste (and I love spicy foods.) I did order it extremely spicy and challenged their chef. Their pad thai is good too and curry is flavorful. Kind of expensive though. Worth it for some authentic Thai food! Service : They were nice and courteous. I always ordered to go so I don't know how they are if you're eating there. They offered me refreshments while I was waiting for my meal to-go. Ambience : Clean and almost romantic. 4/5 stars for food and overall cleanliness.

We just moved to Orange from the SGV and were in need for some good food. A neighbor recommended this place and now we eat here at least once a week. The pad se ew is fantastic and the yellow curry just has enough spice to give it a kick! Delivery takes an hour but pick up is usually only 15 mins so take the drive if you're really hungry!

We ate here after a very sad NCAA elite eight game....yep AZ fans!!! It was about 8:30, so it wasn't very busy and we got excellent service. The best part of the meal was when our server asked if we wanted the large Thai Iced Tea....hell yea and it was large!!! Oh yea, it tasted awesome too!!! We had the yellow chicken curry and the pad see ew dinner plate. Both were excellent. We live in Carlsbad (about 60 miles away) and I am thinking of coming up here for lunch this weekend!!!

Smiles and freindly attitudes while serving. I had heard Thai Chili was great, but when I found it, I saw this small striplet area, very little parking space, from the outside the restaurant looked small and questionable. But, when I walked in, the place looked very nice, clean, organized, a gentle ambiance, Thai decor, and a pleasant appeal to it. I walked in they served me water and sat me down and I ordered to go(lunch break). The service was rather awesome and quick food preperation. Tiger Beef I had two orders of the Tiger Beef and side of rice, one for me and one for my co-worker. We both loved it, wanted more too. The dish features good cutes of sliced steak on top of cabbage and carrot slices. They serve you a tangy broth on the side. I enjoyed the beef, but it was a moderate portion. Thier rice was great too. If you have a small to regular apetitie this will fill, if you are a large eater, you may want to order an extra side, since thier other dishes look like they had huge portions. Speaking of other items, I saw their wonton's, wow, I want those next time, they looked perfect. They also recommended the Chicken curry which I will try next time. They have a menu online, and I plan to visit it to plan future meals. Oh hell yea I plan to be back. Whether you take the 91, 55, Tustin St or Taft Ave, this is one place to experience. Much like the beauty of Thai Women, this food will amaze you.

This place is my go-to Thai Place in Orange. Definitely better than Cha Thai on Main and Chapman. I never had a bad experience and I have been coming here for a while now. I loved everything that I had tried. I would recommend the Spicy Sole Fish,... YUM YUM YUM! Also, they serve the sticky rice w/ mango... :)

Love this place!! Been here many a time and always enjoy my meal. Service is A+. Thai people are always seem to be so very friendly. They have great lunch specials that include salad and soup - both delish. I love their curries: panang, red, yellow, green, etc. My husband enjoys their Thai Spicy Noodles with chicken. If you like Thai food, definitely give this place a try for a lunch experience.

Call in your order before you dine there because the kitchen gives preference to take-out, as we unfortunately experienced. It took 45 minutes to get our food out for a party of 6. Also, they obviously split portions in order to get the food out faster to us. Great tasting food, but the service leaves much to be desired.

Alright So this is home to the BEST Pad Thai I have ever eaten. I always always get the Chicken Pad Thai, I cant help myself. I come in with a party of 6 or 7 and I don't really care much for the other food. I've only eaten in the restaurant 3 times. Its a small place, cute decor inside. Outside looks a little shabby but eh- whatever. One of the 3 times I ate in, the server seems confused- maybe she was new? Pretty much- the service is fine and the Pad Thai is glorious.

Its a good place. I usually come here during my lunch time and make it back on time to work. I love their tum yum soup. I enjoy coming here with my coworkers. The staff is nice and overall its nice and clean.

What a great find! Happy accident. I had the fish cakes which were some of the best I have ever had and the spicy basil noodles with chicken. I asked for extra spicy and they didn't disappoint. Will come here again and again!!!

This restaurant is very unusual... I think this restaurant is far better than many of Thai restaurant I visited. Probably not the number one but I think this place is awesome. The waitress bring a very interesting culture experience. I am happy with their patience and put their effort at best to serve the table full of deaf customers. My meal came down front of me and they looks really good. The dish was licked clean. The price for me and my boyfriend is very reasonable. I definitely will go back to try more of their variety. I love how they turned carrot into a flower... beautiful, simply beautiful.

Love this place. I have been going to this restaurant since before and after its kitchen fire a few years back that forced them to close down for several months and remodel. The quality of the food is always great and the customer service is wonderful for a Thai restaurant. They actually smile and greet you and check on you!! Amazing! It is very rare when you find a Thai restaurant that not only has delicious and authentic food but great service as well. Usually the better the food, the worse the service. Not this place. The inside is very small and from the outside, it doesn't look all that appealing. It's one of those deceiving situations because the inside is immaculate and very ornate (although a little over-the-top with the decor...but you get that with these places sometimes). Still, every dish is flavorful and they tend to make sure you have more than enough. One of my very underrated Orange restaurant favorites. :)

This place has the BEST pad see ew I've ever tasted. Their drunken noodles were really good too. The Tom Yong was too sweet for my taste, but everything else makes up for it, including the exceptional service. I'm going to leave this 5 star review right here until I try the other dishes.

Cravings of delectable yellow chicken curry with steamed white rice has been all in my mind lately since I discovered that it's one of my husband's favorite Thai dishes. I was more than ecastic to find a nearby location to satisfy my craving. We had one of those rare lunches together - the husband and I both ordered the same yellow curry. He had ordered the medium and I ordered the mild yellow curry. It came with an wonton wrapper drizzled with sweet and sour sauce, white steamed rice and succulent yellow chicken curry. The Thai Iced tea was happily sipped and I'm sad that you can't get free refills on them, too. Overall, a great place for your yellow chicken curry fix! YUM!

I had the Thai Spicy Basil and was not impressed. My daughter had the red curry and she liked it. The service was prompt and courteous. Lunch specials are priced very reasonably. I will go back and try a different dish.

The lunch special is a great value. I love the green curry, pad thai, and pad see ew. They also serve a variety of chilis as condiments-the tiny jalapenos are my favorite. It sets them apart from other Thai restaurants.

Came here after checking it out on yelp. I got tom yum kai (chicken) soup, pad thai, and a green garden vegetable dish, which ran about 28 bucks. The food--- I thought the soup, and the pad thai were just average, Thai Nakorn and Siam have this placed beat big time. The soup didn't have much meat and there were too many chunks of lemongrass for me to really enjoy it. I thought the pad thai was a bit greasy, but again ok. The green garden seemed way over priced for some steamed vegetables. probably wont come back here as I know of some better spots to go to.

Doesn't look like much, but honestly it is the best Thai food I've had in years. Perhaps they knew if was our first time, and so they made the food extra special? Either way, I'm going back for sure. Had the spicy sole fish, the thai sauna shimp, and the spicy tofu fried rice. Everything was amazing. I'm going back for the drunken noodle, because I know they will do it right.

My wife and I have been to 3 Thai restaurants in Orange and this is definitely the best one! We went here tonight with three friends. We ordered 4 chicken dishes; the green garden, green curry, chicken with eggplant, and cashew chicken. We also ordered the fried rice with shrimp. All of the dishes were tasty! My favorite was the cashew chicken (because of the sauce, chili paste...I think) and my wife really liked the chicken with eggplant. The portions were good-sized for a Thai restaurant. 3 of the dishes had good amounts of vegetables. That's always a plus in our book. We will definitely return to Thai Chili!

Used to think this place was fairly decent, but this evening pretty much cemented why I won't be ordering from them again. Wife and I called them up for delivery, and since I'm a huge fan of their red chicken curry, I ask for that, and some tiger beef. The man on the phone reads it back, and from what I can understand it sounds correct. The food arrives, and my dish is completely unrecognizable. I call them up, and the woman on the phone proceeds to tell me that since the man wrote down "lops chicken" (I dont even know what that is...) then clearly it was all my fault, and that it would take an hour to get my order correct and to me. Here's the issue: Literally everyone on the phone I have ever talked to has been nearly unintelligible, We've gotten forgotten items, the driver has returned because they drove off with our beverages, a whole slew of issues. The food is pretty good, but I have to say, the service if you're ordering take out is an absolute MUST AVOID. It absolutely burns me up being told that I personally ordered a dish I've never heard of. After all of that, the food that was correct arrived cold. Thanks guys.

Operating hours are not correct! Says it is open right now, the open sign is lit up, but the sign on the door says "closed 3 to 3pm." Whatever that means. Please update your advertising to indicate your actual operating hours! I will not return.

Man..maybe I had a bad pad thai? I didn't like their pad thai at all...it didn't taste like pad thai....more like pad see ew. Their noodles was way too broken up. too much oil... It looks like it's all about presentation here. When you see all white people dining at an asian restaurant and yelp has it at 4 stars...maybe you should rethink about going there. Price was average, but some dish might be on an expensive side for thai food. They also put raisins in the pineapple fried rice and I didn't like that at all. I don't recall having raisins in pinaapple fried rice at other thai places. Anyways, I wouldn't come back.

Last Saturday at work, we decided to order some Thai take-away. We found this place through Yelp and took advantage of their delivery service. I'm going to cut to the chase: their pad thai was pretty gross. Yeah, they give you a pretty huge serving and it was under $9, but it sucked.

This review is for a to-go lunch order. My coworkers and I ordered 4 chicken paid thai lunch specials. It came with salad, steamed rice (1.50 extra for fried rice) and two fried wontons. The pad thai was mushy, overcooked, and bland.

A small, nicely decorated restaurant on Tustin. The service was fast, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, and fairly casual. I ordered the Thai Basil Shrimp, which was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. If you're a spice lover like me, you might want to ask them to spice it up a bit. Mine was spicy, but if I go back, I'll ask for extra spicy, as I like it with just a bit more heat than they made it without any special request. I also had a Thai Iced Tea, which was quite good, even a bit better than I find at most Thai places. If I were planning to stay in town, I'm pretty sure this would become a regular place. The lunch specials are a great deal, but only run from 11 to 3 on weekdays.

I love love love the food here. So yummy. This is a favorite spot of the boyfriend and I - he doesn't eat meat or chicken, so there are a lot of choices for both of us. He does eat seafood and the shrimp here is always perfect. We almost always get crab fried rice (amazing. I really wanted to not like it because I get annoyed that my boyfriend orders fried rice. WTF? They bring you rice, stupid!) but it is really delicious and different. We also almost always get shrimp roll appetizer - thin shrimp rolled tightly in a wrapper and fried. So good. I'm also a fan of their curries. Pad thai is not the best, I liked their drunken noodles better. My favorite is the BBQ chicken though. With that sweet/spicy sauce? You can't go wrong.

Food is decent, but it took more than one and a half hours to deliver items on their specials menu and the food arrived lukewarm. I would not recommend delivery. The food is actually very tasty. The garlic shrimp and angel wings had a good flavor bit lost much of their texture because of the slow delivery.

Best pad thai I have ever had! I love love love pad thai and I have tried it at quite a few places but none of them compares to the pad thai at Thai Chili! Everyone should definitely get it! They decorate the dish with a hand-carved carrot butterfly that is just too cute! I asked the waitress how they made it but she didn't know :S But it's the perfect touch to the nom in my tummy food :D

The restaurant: A hole in the wall in a small strip mall, you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking. The interior decor is nothing fabulous, but has reasonably comfortable seating and some decent murals of soothing scenes. DO NOT BE SCARED OFF BECAUSE THE PLACE IS EMPTY! It almost caused me to walk out the first time. There is almost never anyone eating there, despite having a LOT if seating available. However, you DO see their delivery guy constantly in and out of the place, so obviously they are doing great delivery business The service: Service is good, not overly attentive but notices when to refill drinks. English is not their strong suit, but they get your orders right and are very nice folks. The food: One person in a prior post said to order to go, and I strongly disagree. Their dishes are OK when ordered to go, but suffer from the drive time and are never quite right texturally when compared to when its hot and steaming out of the wok. The dishes are delicious, to look at and consume. The chefs make little vegi flowers or butterflies to garnish your meal, and the food is always delicious. Their heat scale seems to be more on the Thai side than the American side. I love heat, so order medium, but most folks who don't eat a lot of spicy ethic foods (Thai, Indian, Mexican) should consider mild the first time around. Oh, and they have a full page of Vegetarian options. Their Pad Thai is good (not overly sweet like some), but their Pad Silver is even better (same basic dish but with glass noodles). I LOVE their Tofu and eggplant with basil sauce, and their green curry was also wonderful.

Thai chili has one of my favorite red curry chicken dishes I've ever had. I worked 5 minutes from here for about 3 years and had to make a lunch trip to thai chili at least a couple times a month. The prices here are a little on the pricier side for the food portions, but again, the food was good.

My husband and I were looking for a place to get a quick bite before my son's Back to School Night in Orange. He sent me the link to Thai Chili's menu and I figured that it's hard to go wrong with Thai food, so we agreed to meet there. What a local gem we discovered! Thai Chili is an awesome place for reasonably priced, delicious Thai food. The eggplant and pork in my dish were perfectly cooked and my husband loved his Tofu Red Curry! The staff is very sweet and attentive, coming over several times to check on us, refill water, and tell us that the awesome carrot cut-out on my dish was edible. Really sweet people. The thai iced coffee is delicious too. We also really loved that there was an entire additional page of the menu devoted to vegetarian dishes (in addition to most dishes having a tofu option). I'd love to put in some of the biting sarcasm or humor that's typical of my other reviews, but it just doesn't seem to fit in with such a sweet place. I'm just glad that we found a local Thai place that we love. I'm sure we'll be back again soon.

Never going again!!! Went for lunch on 10/9/12 apparently they have a new cook, I ordered the Pad Thai and it was flavorless. When I asked them they said they will prepare a new meal only to find out they had used the same noodles a d added sweet sauce on top. Food had no flavor and they offered the worst customer service.

PORTIONS SO SMALL... PRICING IS GOOD BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Most of the items are not shareable size wise. As far as why they got 2 stars.. I ordered a young coconut juice because it was only $2 on the menu. Once we got the bill I saw a $5 charge instead of the $2 and then waitress proceeded to tell me that it was changed because that is the old price??? Awesome.. so change your damn menus! Anyways the owner got involve and i told it was very misleading. He didn't do a damn thing! Awesome.. I paid the bill and sure as hell didn't leave a tip.! At least have the courtesy to admit the error on your end and do the right thing. I know it is only $3 difference but still. Don't mislead customers!

Good service... Had the pad see ew with chicken and the crying tiger (beef). Loved the pad see eww.. It was cooked perfectly and the flavors were on point. The Beef however was a little disappointing. It was overcooked and dry. I guess next time, I'll have to ask them to cook it Med or MR.. Other than that - service was great and I enjoyed my dining experience. I'll definitely be back.

At this place I have had the best of times and the worse of times... Well, maybe not the best of times but pretty good times. They used to make a pretty good basil noodle and a few of their curries were pretty tasty. Years ago, they would deliver to my place, but recently said it was too far. I would order once or twice a week. It is my opinion, but I think the panang and basil noodle are the best. The last couple of years, the place has been inconsistent. I will leave it at AOK. I prefer going to another place that is not very far from here. I also like the red curry at the place across the street. Overall, AOK. I guess they still deliver if you live pretty close.

Thai Chili is one of my favorite places to get pad thai! Everything about it is just so delicious! My favorite part of the pad thai is this hand-carved butterfly made from a carrot! It's a wonderful touch to the meal and almost too pretty to eat! It's a nice and relaxing sit down restaurant that has a calm atmosphere. As a student of Chapman University, I often call and order for pick-up and my food is always ready when I get there!

Yummy Yummy Yummy! This is only a review for the food not the service as we have only had take out... The way I judge a Thai restaurant is by their Pad Thai... The only place I have had good Pad Thai is Zen Yai in Santa Barbara... However I finally found a contender that I could actually compare to Santa Barbara.. I have to eat in the restaurant to see if it is as good as Zen Yai as Pad Thai traveled is never as good as when it comes right out of the kitchen. But I am so very happy to have found a place in Orange County that has really yummy affordable Thai food.. Cant wait to return.

Spicy beef salad! Totally worth the trip to this spot. The decor is warm and inviting with little murals and a nice cute water fountain along one wall. The service, though, is meh. They're very nice. But they get orders wrong frequently and look at you like you're good, right? And it's pulling teeth to get a refill on water. I raise my hand like I'm in junior high. Excuse me miss, I'm thirsty. Water please? But food wise, the egg rolls are super fried and super greasy. But they hit the spot when fresh out of the fryer. I eat one and let my dining companion bulk up on the rest. And the spicy beef salad is both spicy and a salad with beefy goodness. I often mistakenly bite into the peppers, hence my need for more water. But it's yummy and it's flavorful. And it's super cheapo. If you're a lover of spicy foods like me, you should check this spot out for sure. But be prepared for a slow lunch that may not get you back to the office in time.

Best Thai ever! I still strive to find a place as good as here. No longer living in Orange County, I try place after place to find one that lives up to Thai Chili. They deliver too! My favorite is the Yellow Beef Curry but I have had all the different kinds of curry and love it.

This is our default local Thai place. The service is always good when we go in, delivery is a little slow if we order in, but no slower than most of the local delivery service places. Highlights: The tom kha is delicious. It has a lot of flavor. It is hands down my favorite, and tops a lot of other tom kha that I've had elsewhere. The thai dumplings are also a family favorite. We always order the pad thai, it's good, not my favorite, but it's not overly sweet or sticky like it can be at other places. When I worked in the area, the lunch specials were always a great deal, too. Overall, don't expect mind-blowing Thai food, but expect tasty food with cheerful service.

I think this place is one of those best kept secrets of Orange. Thai Chili is hidden in a small plaza with a hard-to-see sign, which explains the small amount of customers inside. I've been looking for a good Thai restaurant in Orange for a while, so I was so glad when I found Thai Chili. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance in the restaurant is gorgeous! Our food was brought to us promptly and had great presentation, with vegetable art and everything (example: I've had carrots brought to me in the shape of a flower and butterfly :) ) The price is pretty good considering what you get. I never finish my meal and always have some leftover for the next day, so paying $7.95 for that isn't bad at all! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good, quick Thai food. Also, unlike a lot of Thai restaurants I've been to, the spicy fried rice is ACTUALLY spicy!

My husband and I love this place. We get the Chicken Pad Thai and Thai Iced Coffee. The service is wonderful. The food is delicious--crunchy peanuts dusted over a gorgeous helping of crisp veggies and silky noodles. When picking up an iced coffee for the ride home, give it a good stir/shake to make it rich and creamy, unless the taste of iced black licorice is your thing. Which is okay if it is. I don't judge.

Love this place! I have two fav Thai places in orange. This one and Lanta Thai. Both are great. This place has maybe a more romantic setting than Lanta but both have great food and both deliver locally. Here at Thai Chili I get the Pad Thai or Yellow Curry. Both are yummmmyy. Def recommend!

Small, predictable, and great food. OPEN ON SUNDAY! We go here regularly, about once a month or so. We have even ordered delivery and pick up orders, all with no issues. Drunken Noodles w/ beef Tom Yum Talay Pineapple fried rice w/ chicken Pad See Ew w/ beef Pad Thai w/ shrimp Thai spicy fried fish Everything is always cooked fresh, and very flavorful. The service is timely, but not overbearing or lacking. Water is always full, plates cleared when done etc.. Definitely a place we will continue to go!

So I got some takeout, in my never ending quest to eat at every Thai restaurant within a 15 mile radius of my new apartment. I had the Red Curry with tofu and the chicken Pad Thai. The Good: I enjoyed the ambiance inside the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff. I also very much enjoyed the Pad Thai and how they made it spicy for me after I asked for making it spicy. That may seem simple enough, but it's amazing how many Thai places refuse to make spicy food for white people. Here they actually listen to me when I say I want it spicy! The Bad: The red curry. It was super bland and unexciting. It was spicy, but no other flavors were in there other than the spiciness itself. In addition, it was rather watery. I would definitely NOT get the red curry again (which doesn't bode well for their other curries, either). Overall, a great Pad Thai, but not sure if that's enough to get me back!

The first time i came here was in 2000. The food and flavors and service since has always been on point and great! The ambiance since has been upgraded which was a great move on them! I still love the pad thai shrimp and spicy thai fried rice. One of the best fried rice out there thai style. The combination dinners are great portions! This mom and pop spot is yummy!

The best part if Thai Chili is their service. Always pleasant and easy to give my order to over the phone. They always tell me a 45 minute wait time but they always are here well before that ETA. Maybe 25-35 minutes. Now, about the food. It use to be much better. Like 4/5 stars better. It's not bad now, just mediocre. I always get the pad thai w/chicken and shrimp(spicy) and my wife orders pad w/chicken. As of late the noodles are "gummy" in consistency. Noodles are suppose to slide between each other, not gunk up into chunks. The flavor is ok, the spice helps. We'll split an appetizer of either thai dumplings or thai spring rolls. These were also average. The sweet and sour sauce for our spring rolls had been tipped and spilled(even though the lid was on) This made a few spring rolls soggy. The dumpling were just fine as usual. Steamed and soft. The soy sauce is perfect for them! In my opinion, they have BOMB thai iced tea! One of my favorites! Unfortunately it comes in one size, and they fill the cup 1/2 full with ice! But it's soooo good, I order 2! Thai Chili has a faithful customer in me as long as they don't go down further in quality (or Royal Thai Orchid starts delivering).

Another favorite place of mine. Great Thai food! I am not sure how I found this place, maybe I was driving by and saw it? I came here often when I worked in the area. They have really good lunch deals and the service is great! Parking is limited.

I have driven by this place lots of time, and decided to stop in and get some food to go for the wife and me. I got an order of their orange chicken, and some pad thai w/ shrimp. First the food was hot and good, the Orange chicken was delicious, but very heavy. it has a thick bread coating almost like a donut. if you let it cool the sauce starts to harden and will seem like a candy coating. I did enjoy it, but seemed like it had a lot of breading. The Pad Thai was great. noodles cooked good, and had a good flavor to it. Although we got it to go, the restaurant seemed clean and very peaceful place to eat. The menu has a great selection, including a lunch menu w/ soup or salad and a dish from their list. I can't wait to go back and try some other menu selections of which there are plenty.. Also it seems they have as many vegetarian dishes as they do those with meat. I am a carnivore, but can eat there with friends that are not and both be happy. They also have a free delivery within a 3 mile radius.

I think this is the best Thai place I've ever been to in terms of the food. Granted, I'm not an expert in Thai food, but everything I tried had my sailvary glands functioning at maximum capacity. Food: I tried the popular dishes including pad thai ( yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… , yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… ) and pineapple fried rice ( yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… ). The pad thai was pretty much perfect, not too oily, not too bland and full of lots of sumptuous veggies and chicken. The fried rice was great and featured enough seafood pieces to satisfy. I also tried some fried fish with panang curry ( yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… ) which was super good. The curry sauce was a bit watery, but had a great amount of heat. Of the dishes I tried, I think the fried rice was the best. Service: Fast. There was no wait to eat here though the restaurant had a good number of patrons. Atmosphere: The exterior is unassuming as the restaurant sits in a strip mall next to a skate shop. The interior, however, is definitely more exciting. I briefly felt like I had been transported to Hawaii upon entering. The walls are painted with Thai-ish murals and the tables are decorated with orchids, bamboo, and other tropical themed items ( yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… , yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… , yelp.com/biz_photos/nNWj… ). More importantly, it's very clean inside unlike some other Thai places I've been to. Synopsis: If you live in Orange, I'd try to stop by.

Four stars on Yelp? Must check it out. The servers are soo nice and friendly. Due to the four stars, I went in with high expectations. The Thai Iced Tea was way too sweet (this coming from a girl who could eat sugar by itself) The Satay Chicken was my favorite of the night. It was definitely one of the best ones I have ever tried! So, what is my beef with this place? Restaurants, please pay attention!!! If you are going to put a dish under your "HOUSE SPECIAL" please make sure it really is special, that being said I eyed their Thai BBQ Chicken because the picture depicts such a moist and lovely bbq chicken and I so badly wanted to taste what their "special marmalade" was...When it was served to me, I felt like a little kid being taken to a candy shop without candy. The chicken was soooo dry and hard. It tasted like a left over chicken heated up in the microwave. I even dipped it into their "special marmalade" to make it taste better but it was still yuck. So then I grabbed their hot sauce tray because I thought to myself, "hot sauce makes everything better" and it was still yuck. I would only come back to take their Satay Chicken to go.

The food here is ok, but greasier than other thai restaurants I've eaten at and not as tasty, but their mago with sticky fried rice is great. Their service is friendly, but their decor is too "up-tight" for the type of food they serve.

OK here's what you should get: Angel wings! Deep fried, crispy boneless chicken wings stuffed with noodles and other choice morsels...so crisp! Not soggy! Best way to start the meal! And, cut up into little pieces so you don't accidentally choke while you shove it down your throat.... I forgot what else we got. Let's see...Pineapple fried rice was kind of strange. it had raisins in it and a different spice than I'm used too, not as much pineapple sweetness as I would have liked. Pad See Ew was tasty and broccoli wasn't over cooked. BBQ spare ribs were glorious! not too fatty, not dry. Just mouth watering tasty chunks of pork...falling off the bone. Ok here's the only thing, I think they might put MSG in the food because after I eat it, I get a weird feeling in the back of my head. That definitely happened last night. Buuuttt...it tasted so good! oh yeah and hella cheap for good food in a clean classy joint.

This place has changed management and now blows curry chunks! The service is horrible, they change their hours on a moments notice despite what signage may say. We've been denied service before because we were white - they said they were closed, but had three tables just seated to eat - all asian, of course. They are racist with horrible service. The food is fairly good, so we still go there but never tip anymore. Think twice about going here, it's only a last resort for us!

Waitress said there was a new cook... We are regulars .... Our Pad Thai was flavorless... Noodles were still hard.... They took it back to the kitchen put some orange sauce on the same dish and replated! They mixed our parties plates up!!! Gross! Never again!!

Extremely overrated by other reviewers. I ordered a Green Chicken Curry as an A La Carte. The curry sauce was really runny, watery and no consistency. While they stood true to their name and added a massive dose of spices to the dish, it most certainly was not anywhere near of being called good or even acceptable thai food. Sutha Thai in Tustin is my current favourite. Try it out sometime and then decide for yourself.

First time ordering Thai and I LOVE it. Great quality, hot and tasty. The ingredients are fresh and it makes me want to try other items on the menu. Satay was great! Spicy fried rice yummy! Love the sauce for the shrimp rolls. Can't wait to order again.

Thai Chilli is my all time favorite place to eat!!!! I could have it for breakfast lunch and dinner!! The pad thai chicken is the bomb!! The people are great, service is awesome, and the people know I ride my bike so on a hot day, they offer me a glace of water and tell me to sit and relax. If you're craving Thai food, this place is the best place ever!!!!!

    * Service: very friendly and attentive * Ambiance: clean and nicely remodeled. * Food: - Tofu Gapow(mint leaves w/ tofu): really goood!!! Not your average gapow since they put sliced bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and broccoli in it---good in its own style. - the portions are pretty big for their lunch special $7.95 (yummy soup, fried eggroll, and entree).

Great service. We had the Yellow Chicken Curry & Beef Pad Thai. Both were pretty good. Brown rice is available for additional charge. Only complaint was that the prices were a bit higher than usual. Other than that, we would recommend it.

Go about every 3 months with the whole family, and let me tell you this place is great. the food has so much flavor, price is fair when you take into consideration how good the food is. each plate is worth at least $13, but that's what keeps us coming back is the fair price $9-12 a plate and the fresh good tasting food

Over-rated and definitely over-hyped. This is the one thing that bugs me about Yelp. I read the reviews & I went based on the rating & the yelp reviews - and once again - disappointed! The Tom Kha Kai soup was just weird and the garlic chicken was boring and not flavorful. Giving it a 3 because of the atmosphere.

Their pineapple fried rice was dry, BBQ chicken was ok, chow mein mediocre, and pad see ew, which was just flat out shitty. Our office got catered and I know catered is never the best way to eat any type of food. The reality is I have to go to the actual restaurant and try for myself. I'll report back, when I actually dine in the actual establishment. Stay tuned kids!

NEW OWNERSHIP HAS RUINED THIS PLACE!!! This used to be one of the best Thai restaurants around. Unfortunately it was sold and the new ownership has changed many things most importantly the quality of the food has gone down dramatically. At first I had hopes that they would stay the same but they have gradually changed things including the chef, Charlie is no longer here. Sorry I will not be back.

We eat here regularly! Such good food and good Thai tea. Staff is friendly most of the time. Only bad thing is no military discount. In the five years, they have the same song in the background playing. Hahaha.

First time I have eaten at Thai Chili Restaurant. I had Pad Thai lunch special and the flavor of this noodle dish was SUPERB. I am definitely going back and probably should try something different the 2nd time around, but the Pad Thai was soooooo GOOD that I am not sure I want anything else for now!! Nice ambience and very good service. Even the ice water was great (they use crushed ice instead of ice cubes)!

My boyfriend recommended this place for our lunch date yesterday. I love Thai food and I hadn't had it in awhile so this was a great way to get my Thai fix. We ordered the lunch specials, yellow curry with beef for me and spicy combination fried rice for BF. His fried rice was very good, just enough spice to prickle your tongue but overwhelmingly so. My yellow curry was good, but not spicy enough for my taste. Do love the clear wonton soup that came with our lunch. The service here was incredibly friendly and fast! Would definitely put this place on my list of quick lunch options. Thanks honey! =D

YUM! Very good, they actually make your food spicy when you ask for it! Love the side of marinated jalapenos! All the extra side table spices are amazing. Drunken noodles are excellent!

Went there New Years Eve after a Duck's game. We were freezing and just wanted something warm and delicious. Thai Chili was the perfect choice. Because of the holiday, we were the only customers in the place, so we got VIP attention. They designated an entire page for vegetarian options, which I'm a huge fan of. I love a good curry, and the Yellow Curry was one of the best I've ever had. Its warm, earthy flavor was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely go back again.

This is a comparison to other Thai spots in or around the area... It's good! Darn good! Way better than I thought it was gonna be. I was getting a manicure in the area and craved some Pad Se Ew... so I Yelped and found this place around the corner. I went in there expecting a sub-par experience but I was humbled. Lunch prices are very fair and the service was fast. The Panang Beef wasn't watered down and the Pad Se Ew and Drunken Noodles were full of flavor. It's not the best ever but then again, I've been to Thailand... bottom line: for the area and price range....it's a must try. Food/Service: 4 Stars...at lunch time, that's all that really matters.

I went here with the boyfriend and I was not disappointed! The food is beyond ordinary thai food. I ordered the eggplant and tofu with egg flower soup. The egg flower soup was different from any other egg flower soup I've had. It was seasoned well and delicious. It had more of a peppery taste to it with some green onion. The sauce for the eggplant with tofu was the same. I was forced to put the sauce all over my rice as well since it was so good. My boyfriend ordered the Chow Mein and loved it. He can be a picky eater but he even liked the eggplant that I ordered! The service was exceptional. Our waiter was great. Always on the ball, asked if we liked the food and very good service overall. There are a lot of things that I still want to try on the menu. I will be back to this place.

Smaller, quaint, very nice restaurant. We usually carry out because we live close. Tom Kai (Coconut) soup is outstanding. It seems that Thai restaurants all make this different. Thai Chili has a great recipe for this one. We also like the pad thai and the yellow curry.

I haven't been to many Thai restaurants but I loved the food here! I live only 2 mins away down Tustin and never knew about this place till my friend told me about it. We went in during Lunch around 2pm. We did their deal, $6.95 for a main dish that comes with steamed rice, & wonton soup. We got the Pad Thai and Red Curry Very pleased with both!!! and I Looooooooooooooved the wonton soup! Yummm. Great service soo friendly and very attentive. I can not wait to go back! (Great hangover food) :)

I've been twice now which means it can't be that bad right?! Atmosphere is a little weird if you go when the employees are ALL eating lunch together (around lunch time) or if you don't like not knowing if people are talking about you in another language! They have a pretty sweet little waterfall in the dining area! Place is definately clean! Service could be a tad bit better but nothing to cry about! If the alcohol was cheaper they'd be a 4.8 for sure :) Lunch specials are AMAZING! Half chicken is F*cKin BOMB! Soup is almost worth the drive too! I don't think it is spicy enough for Thai but that's just me! TRY IT! Almost forgot. . . food portions are DEFINATELY to share for dinner!!!

I have been going to Thai Chili (this location) since about 2007 now.. it is the Thai restaurant that I long for! Their American "favorites" are the best you can find - best Pad Thai I've ever had. Lunch specials are an amazing deal, as well! Note: Because they cater to an American audience, make sure you ask for your food spicy if you actually want it to be "spicy spicy".

I love coming here, service is always friendly and helpful. Their portions are great for sharing. They have THE best pad thai. Very clean. Cute little place :)

We got the chance to try them for lunch yesterday. I tend to judge a Thai restaurant based on the quality and flavor of the Pad thai they make. In this case I was just not overly impressed. The dish was kinda bland. Portions were generous and service was above average and the place itself was very clean but when I am craving thai food, I am looking for that explosion of flavor and the pad thai here definatelty lacked that. I might go back but i would try something other than the Pad thai.

This place is the bomb! $6.95 lunch specials, what???? Everything I have had here is good from the Chicken Satay to the Red Curry. I've eaten here several times and have always left happy. I highly recommend trying it out. Service is always great too. This place is never crowded during lunch and the service is always fast. Last time I ate here, our lunch came out within 5 minutes of placing out orders. Impressive!!!

Went there last week for a group lunch. I ordered the lunch menu Pad Thai($6.95) with Shrimp(add $1). This is unauthentic Thai food. I received a plate of small portion stir fried noodles with half shelled small shrimps, a scope of steamed rice and a slice of orange. The dish had no Thai taste at all because they left out many thai food ingredients (pepper, peanuts...). Hope I never have to return here. 15% service charge on a large group.

    (1)
  • Steve H.

Food here is good. They have dinner specials that aren't common to most Thai food restaurants. They also have good lunch specials as well. Prices are decent. place can get crowded

I'm updating because I gave it another try and it was a lot better than the first time. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing during my first trip. Returned the other night and had shrimp pad thai, papaya salad, chicken curry, and some spicy soup. All were good. The service is good. Overall, good Thai food for the area.

Usually, when my friends hype a place, I generally dont like it. This place was one of the few exceptions. The location is kind of weird. It is a large building the 2nd floor of which is Thai Chili. The building is odd and it doesn't look like much. Once you get inside though, the decor is nice. Enough about the looks of the place, lets dive into the real deal, the food. I have never been a big fan of curry, but I was feeling adventerous, so I tried the panang chicken curry. The dish was very delicious. The panang curry was mixed in with coconut milk which gave it a very smooth taste. The chicken in the curry was plentiful and the serving size was pretty generous. DELICIOUS main dish. I also ordered an appetizer of Thai dumplings...that was just pot stickers that were bought at the neighborhood asian food store. The "dumplings" were the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I also ordered Thai tea with my dish which went really well with it. Always order Thai tea with Thai food :). I highly recommend the panang chicken curry. Overall, this place has excellent food, great service, it is pretty cheap, and it doesn't look too shabby. I recommend going in groups and getting there a bit before 2:00 to get in on the lunch specials, but after the lunch rush.

  • Ann W.

The food is just what I was hoping for. Pineapple chicken curry was delicious, I ate every last drop! Thank you for the excellent service. It means a great deal to me that you took the time to talk with me and connect. I did not feel rushed during the lunch hour. I'll be back!

As others have mentioned, went here about...oh, say 6 months ago. Was dying for it, hadn't been in a couple of years due to being abducted by a family of sasquatches (or was that my brother's family?) Anyway, yeah, they've changed ownership or something. The vibe and ambiance wasn't the same, and that should have been the red flag. The food was just not nearly as tasty or presented as well - the flavor I came for time and time again was gone. So sad.

"Thai Chili" has a good neighborhood reputation, and if you look at some of their specialty items (Papaya Salad, Spicy Basil Beef, Tom Yum, Silver Noodle Salad, Chicken Puff) it is for good reason. We've had Mango Sticky Rice Dessert maybe a dozen times in our lives but here it was exceptional -- the largest serving ever of it. #bustabutton

This place has gone downhill in the recent years. The portions are smaller. The service is not very good. The waitress actually scolded me when I went to retrieve some pepper. There was no one in the place at 7:00 PM on a weeknight.

I had lunch today with my Sis. I checked yelp for nearby thai places, found the Thai Chili and off we went. I ordered the spicy thai basil with pork lunch special.. the soup they served was terrible...lacked flavor and it seemed to have salad veggies in it...weird. The spicy thai basil was great, I was actually surprised..totally delish! Came with a fried egg roll, fried wonton, white rice, and dressed salad on the plate too. My Sis had the pad thai with chicken and she liked her food as well, though she agreed with me about the soup. Friendly service which I appreciate. Located in a small strip mall that I would not have noticed had it not been for yelp. Note the pretty butterfly cut out from a carrot the chef put on my rice..lovely!!!!!

Super sad to be writing this review. Me and the hubs have been here a few times, but a few years ago, and we remembered the food as being good. However, we stopped by and ate there this past Friday night and we were ticked off that we had spent money on the very poor food they served. The egg rolls were the best thing about the meal, and they tasted like they had been fried in rancid oil--- there's no mistaking that bitter aftertaste of old oil. We ordered a Green Curry with beef, and Pad See Ew with combo protein. The Pad See Ew was literally BURNT! The broccoli was scorched and limp, and the noodles were visibly charred, with a pervasive taste of burnt sugar. Really unappetizing--- and sad, because really, how hard a dish is Pad See Ew? The Green Curry was also disappointing--- I have never before had a green curry that I didn't like--- but the taste of salt completely overwhelmed the dish. Normally a good Green Curry has a sweet delicate coconut taste-- not this time! I couldn't taste anything except for the salt. I'm not sure why the reviews for this place are so hit and miss--- I can only guess that there are several different cooks, and we got the bad one. Hope they find someone better. We probably won't go back there again.

Horrible shrimp old fried rice, chicken in pad see ew was old, cardboard like and tasteless. Overall such a disappointing experience. There are so many better restaurants around. Should've paid heed to the other reviews.

My husband and I love this place. Their food is really great and they have decent prices. My only bummer is that they don't have cream cheese rangoons. :( They do have crab rangoons though, and they're delicious! As per usual, the good stuff is always the pad see ew. They're tom yum seafood is my vice when I'm sick. I order that like no other. They also have mango with sticky rice and that's always scrumptious. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because of delivery. They're not the best at that. We ordered for 5 people on a Friday night and it took over TWO hours to be delivery. Mind you I live about 2 miles from this place so it shouldn't have been that difficult. But overall, they're good peeps so I still go in and eat there. I just don't order take out unless I'm extremely craving it.

I had lunch with my Sis and I ordered Pad Thai. I never order Pad Thai anymore but, it was on the lunch menu. It was very good. It came with bland soup, salad and a terrible eggroll. My Sis really liked her lunch special which was spicy basil chicken. She agreed about the sides. All in all, we had a nice lunch which we both enjoyed. My Sis has been back a few times since and enjoys their lunch specials.

My feeling is, much to my chagrin, only a handful of Thai restaurants that I have dined at in Orange County are worth mentioning. Admittedly, there have only been a select few I have tried (perhaps as few as fifteen restaurants). This may diminish my perspective but does not change it. Some have been bad and almost none of them memorable. And then there is Thai Chili. I am convinced, upon six visits and trying a number of their signature dishes, the Thai cuisine from this small, intimate restaurant in the city of Orange is some of the freshest, best prepared and most flavorful you will find! Thai food is a happy marriage of stark, contrasting flavors. The food is aromatic and the flavors are bold. Many of the dishes are complex, a mixture of spicy, sour, sweet, bitter and saltiness. When good Thai food is successfully executed like it is at this restaurant, it is phenomenal! The following dishes were all nearly flawlessly executed and highlights the bold, delicious flavors of authentic Thai cuisine. Thai Spicy Basil (Pad Kra Prao) with Chicken, $8.95. This classic dish is also my personal favorite. The recipe is simple but it is a must-try dish because it blends all the ingredients together seamlessly to trigger nearly all the taste senses. The minced chicken was moist, not overly salted or doused with fish sauce. The aroma of the Thai basil really came through and accentuated the flavors of garlic, onion and chili peppers. The addition of julienned bamboo shoots gave it some crunch and flavoring that wonderfully complimented the entire dish. Pad Prik Khing with Pork, $8.98. A delicious dry curry dish that includes some of my favorite vegetables and seasonings (like chili paste, green beans, carrots, red bell pepper, ginger and jalapeno peppers) stir-fried together. Thai basil, coconut milk and sugar are added in and then quickly boiled. In addition to thickening the curry, they add creaminess and sweetness, resulting in a fantastic tasting, spicy sauce for the meat and vegetables. It is a very fragrant, full-flavored dish. The thinly sliced pork was plentiful and so tender. Each slice of meat was infused with the flavor of the sauce. Pad See Ew, $7.95. A standard comfort food among Thai people and those that love their food. Nothing was overcooked or very oily. The noodles were a velvet-like, silken texture but chewy. The Chinese broccoli and carrots were crisp and retained their deep colors. The taste and texture of this dish could not be any better. Drunken Noodle (Basil Noodle) with Beef, $7.95. If you can handle the spices, I would strongly suggest ordering this fabulous pan-fried noodle dish at least medium spicy. The chili and the drupes pepper gives this dish its distinctive kick. The noodles were again perfectly cooked, fairly non-greasy and the beef was plentiful. Panang Curry with Shrimp, $8.95. The mildness of this curry allows a myriad of spices, seasonings, palm sugar and coconut milk to give it a distinct, savory and sweet flavor, plus its creamy richness. It goes very well with beef, seafood and even tofu. I love pouring the remaining curry over rice and other rice or noodle dishes. The taste and consistency of the panang curry here are unmatched! Yellow Curry with Chicken, $8.95. One of the richest, creamiest of all Thai curries, making it ideal to order with chicken (which is my preference), fish or tofu. A solid dish but I will probably order it with more chilies to amp the spiciness. It is a good choice for those who enjoy a more mild, creamy curry dish. Green Curry with Pork, $8.95. One of the more aromatic and creamier Thai curries. If you prefer a more spicy, while not as sweet and nearly the same creamy consistency as yellow curry, I would recommend this dish. I enjoyed the flavor but thought it was a tad bit too creamy. Pad Thai with Shrimp, $8.95. Perhaps the most popular of all Thai dishes, I was very pleased with the preparation of this dish as well. The pungency and sweetness of both the tamarind pulp and fish sauce did not overwhelm the flavor of the other ingredients. I often find this a problem at other Thai restaurants. If you enjoy this traditional noodle dish, you will like how it is prepared here. Larb Chicken, $7.95. A Laotian style minced meat salad often made with chicken, duck or pork. Not my favorite dish because I felt it was doused with too much fish sauce and lime juice. This made the dish too acidic and salty for me and I also do not care for meat served at room temperature. Lunch specials - available from Monday to Friday, 11am - 3pm, are all priced $6.95. Any dish ordered with shrimp is an additional $1. Each special is served with fried wontons, soup and steamed rice. (No soup for take out orders.) A nice relaxing dining area with soft music and lighting, very good food and fast, efficient service as promised on their website. Their food taste and preparation are nearly on par with some of the best authentic Thai food gems in Hollywood!

Went here yesterday for a late lunch with a couple friends. The service was friendly and attentive; enough so where someone told us to be careful walking Bc they had just mopped. Anyways onto the food, every single thing I ate here was delicious. Tom yum soup Beef satay Crab fried rice Pad see yuw And prik kringh Every single thing was absolutely delicious. They deliver free up to 3 miles and then 1$ per mile afterwards. This is my new spot.

  • Jinnie N.

I REALLY like this place!!! They deliver and they're FAST!! But most importantly, the food is GREAT!! -I usually get the yellow curry with chicken-medium. The chicken is thin and tender and has absorbed the flavors of the curry well. Getting this medium allows me to eat it without rice...like a stew. It usually lasts me 2 meals and I'm a pretty good eater. -I have also gotten the spicy shrimp fried rice. It's good but I just wish that they would give more shrimp. :/ -The shrimp pad thai is awesome!! Super yummy. -My friend got the beef satay combo and it came with a zillion things. Side salad, fried rice, fried wonton, & fried eggroll and like 4-5 sauces. He was EXTREMELY satisfied. Another friend said that she has dined here. She said that this place is very nice inside and that the mango sticky rice was the bomb!!

I come here all of the time when I need Thai food in Orange. You can't go wrong with anything here, everything is soooo delicious!! My recommended dishes are the satay, pad see ew, spicy eggplant, and their beef salad.

Downvoting Thai Chili. It's going off my list. The most recent time I was in they seated us in the back, on the side, near the bathrooms (even though the joint was empty). The other tables back there looked like they were getting ready for some kind of garage sale...what was all the junk in filthy looking boxes doing in the seating area of the restaurant? The food was mediocre-bad. I had chicken satay and the sauce tasted like it belonged in between the layers of a peanut butter cake, it was so sweet, and the chicken itself was dried out and orange in color (???). I can't remember what my friend had, but he said it wasn't great. We also had the rude server that I mentioned in my earlier review. How do you say "no bueno" in Thai?

Small restaurant in a mini shopping center. Nice decor inside with a huge wall mural and a water fountain. Customer service was great, the servers were helpful and accommodating to all of our family requests. - We ordered the fresh coconut water and it was pretty good. - We got the Cucumber salad as a side dish (the one that you get with the satay appetizers) and that was delicious! - Tofu Cashew Nut - was a little bland, not enough flavor to it. - White rice was too sticky and clumpy than other places I've been to and I wasn't a fan of it. - Pad See Ew Tofu: was pretty good, flavor was better than the other dishes. - Fried Ice Cream: was okay, I liked the presentation and look of it more than the taste. The ice cream inside was plain vanilla, and the batter tasted too fried for me. It was okay, but go for it if you like that kind of thing! Everyone orders To-Go! We were the ONLY ones in the restaurant on a Saturday night and we noticed many people coming in to pick up their orders.

3.5 stars overall Chicken Dumplings (3 stars): Good, but a bit chewy. The sauce it comes with pairs well with it. Wonton Soup (4 stars): I will definitely be getting this when I feel a sore throat coming on. Good broth. Vegetable Pad See Ew (4 stars): This was my favorite here. The noodles had a great flavor! Only problem was the tofu itself didn't have much flavor, but the noodles made up for it. Vegetable Cashew Nut (3 stars): Wasn't crazy about the sauce. But it is filled with veggies. Tofu was good. Pineapple Fried Rice (3.5 stars): Not the best but still good. Red Curry (3.5 stars): Didn't look as red as they normally do but it was still good. Fried Ice Cream (3 stars): Not a big fan of the batter they use over the ice cream. The fried part fell away from the ice cream really easily so it was hard to get a perfect bite of both. It wasn't holding up and ended up getting soggy so you didn't get much of a crunch. But loved the presentation with the flame. Service (4 stars) They made sure they had everything written down right before they left which was nice. We got everything we ordered. They were great with kids. Atmosphere: Good sized restaurant. Clean, nice water fountain background noise. We came around 7 on a Saturday night and it was empty. A lot of people came in for togo orders though. Not in a super happening shopping complex so maybe that's why. If you're looking to eat some solid thai food at a nice place where you won't have to wait on a busy night-this is it. They also have a lot of vegetarian options.

I called in my order for Pad See Ew and spring rolls and it was ready in 15 minutes and delicious. Not the best I've ever had but it is good enough to go back for more!!

I went here before and was amazed by the pineapple fried rice and milk curry shrimp dish. I just got back from Thailand. Wanted some Tom yum soup. Yuck. Nothing like anything I've gotten around town. They have forgotten the recipe. Looking for a home for Tom yum.

Over 3.5 Stars... My pad thai was just ok. I've had Pad Thai at many Thai restaurants & this place's yellow noodles were too oily & tasted kinda weird. 2 pts Rad na w beef & broccoli had thick gravy & was yummy 9pt Week day lunch specials are a great deal here.. =) +1 Service was great, they were able to accommodate our big group of 25 on a short notice. +1 Ambiance & decor is nice. They even have a small cute indoor waterfall decoration. =)

This has been on of my favorite thai restaurants in Orange for years. Delicious thai teas, drunken noodles, curry, etc. However, as I took my cousin there last night for the first time after telling her how awesome this place was, I was quite disappointed. We walked in around 830 (place closes at 9). The nice gentleman/server did not mind, sat us down and took our order. When we received our noodle dish I couldn't help but notice that majority of the plate was garnished with overly excessive lettuce (which it was bluntly obvious they were trying to cover their small portion size they were trying to give us). I debated about saying something but kept my mouth shut. Plus no one came to check on us or ask us if we needed refills on water, needed anything else, etc. (I want to add that the place was not busy at all-there were only 2 other tables with 2 people each in there at this time-so no we were to busy excuses). During dinner the clock must have struck 9 o'clock and up walked the rude lady (which I thought-finally someone is checking on us!). She came over and harshly put the bill down and said we are closed and proceeded to clear our table as we were mid bite. We told her we weren't finished and she walked away and came back with to-go plates. I understand the restaurant closes at 9 pm and she probably had a long day and wants to go home, but this is the worse customer service I have experienced. To rudely start picking up plates and while someone is mid-bite and make it obvious she wants us out of there. Needless to say, she made us pack up our food and had us leave because it was 9:01. The food here deserves a 4.5 but as the years have gone by the service as declined and is trending towards a 1 star. I wish management would speak to their workers about service because this place really dose have potential to be a full 5 stars. Too bad I will have to find another thai place in the area to satisfy my thai cravings because the service here is is to horrendous to go through again.

I live in yuba city, were we have only 2 Thai places. Thai chili blows them out of this world. My family loooves Thai, and it's hard to find places up north where they serve pork satay, and mee krob. I will say this, the mee krob was not what I was expecting, the flavor was good, but I was really looking forward to the sweet sticky awesomeness that is mee krob, I think we got its cousin. We also ordered Thai coffee/tea, we asked for the largest glass they have, and the brought out steins.!!!! Some places put it in like a fluted glass but not these babies, it was sooooo friggen good, even my super picky husband was drooling over the Thai coffee/tea. My hubby ordered the pad see ew with chicken, and practically inhaled it. He was like how come they don't make it like this up at home? I ordered the pad Thai combination meat, omg I could not stop eating it, it saw so flavorful, and the noodles were the perfect consistency. My dad ordered the pineapple curry, at med. spiciness, and after a couple of bites it was like a kick in the pants, and the pineapple bits was like finding tasty treasures. He also got pork fried rice to go with the curry and I absolutely fell in love with the nice sized chucks of meat. My dad girlfriend ordered the house special angel wings, meh. She said it was good, but didn't offer to share, that's ok I had some chicken satay to eat. That peanut sauce was like fireworks in my mouth. I could not get enough of it. All in all, this place was amazing, the wait staff was charming, and so helpful. Our waitress was so very good to us, and after all that they only charged us like $80 dollars. So inexpensive!!! I defiantly recommend this place to all the kids out there. Just go in and laugh with the wait staff, expect to have fun and you will. Don't go into this place and start judging them before you give them a chance. The next time I'm in L.A, I will come back and try the yellow curry.

What's up with all the hate going on for Thai Chili recently? I've been coming here for several years and have eaten many a good lunch here. Not the best Thai I've ever eaten but far from being bad Thai. I read some Yelp reviews that there is some new ownership, and some beef over the hours and complaints over service. I guess those thing would piss me off too! But you know what In the 5+ years I've been ordering takeout here I only had one single problem a few years ago. They gave me two orders of everything I ordered! OK I can get over that one. I'm not sure about the new ownership, but the food I got today was up to par with any I'd had in the past. As for service and hours I've always called in my orders during lunchtime and have never had any problems except the one LOL. So no complaints from me. But I have never been to Thai Chili for a sit down meal.... FOOD today: Chicken Satay ... I could eat this all day, a nice grilled, peanut and who knows what else they marinade it with chicken skewers, drizzled with a sweet peanuty sauce and chili cucumbers 4****Stars yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… Pad Thai ... nice tender rice noodles, with bamboo shoots, chicken, sprouts, peppers, egg and sauce is a pretty tasty dish, and toss in a salad with some yummy light Thai dressing at $6.95 this is a good lunch! 4****Stars yelp.com/biz_photos/thai… Other good stuff I've tried at Thai Chili are the Angel wings, Thai tiger beef, Pad See Ew, Shrimp with broccoli and Oyster sauce, Chicken curry and the chicken fried rice. Thai Chili is a nice looking place to eat, clean and well adorned for this type of Thai place. Yet I've only had mine to go ... I'll keep coming back for lunch!

This place has pretty good Thai food. Their pad thai is one of the better in the area. I was not a fan of their fried rice. Everything else I've tried on the menu has been good. Definitely worth giving this place a try!

After the three of us spent the entire meal complementing how good their food is, I figured I owed Thai Chile 5 stars. We ordered the Pad See Ew plus Panang Curry plus Spicy Basil Eggplant. This is a classic combination that I recommend to anyone. While I was waiting for my take-out order, I talked to a gentleman who was ordering 2 servings of Satay Chicken for himself and his grandfather. He made me promise that I would try this dish. He was kicking himself for driving by this place for so many years without trying any of their food!!!

I hate to give nice small businesses low ratings but it has to be done sometimes. So family ever once and a while want something to eat and they drive me nuts because they can't figure it out or I have to eat around my uber picky sister. My mom is becoming worse about what she wants to eat when it comes to spending money for someone else to cook LOL. They didn't want Zesty thai so I decided to go with Thai chili. It was a new place for us to try. Called in the order and they were on their way to pick it up. We ordered: Wontons: Im spoiled by cream cheese wontons everywhere, so when they're not filled with cream cheese, they're hella dry. Blah! BBQ chicken meal: That was quite good and the side salad with that crack honey mustard dressing most thai places have was goooood. Simple but delish. My sister loved the whole plate. Plus I have a thing for red colored chicken :p Spare ribs: Pretty darn good to me. Not to dry and not to much of a chew. Fall off the bone. No complaints on that. Combo fried rice: That was missing something major. I guess im spoiled by the pink rice I get at Original thai bbq LOL. It was just ok. Beef Pad see ew: It was VERY good, but the portion was small. I heard it was small in the restuarant but it was pathetic inside the to-go box. Not even close to filling up the box. Shit was light weight! The taste was GREAT but the beef was yet again the cheapest cut of meat , the same as Zesty thai's!!!! Garlic shrimp: That was VERY good. A little overcooked but seasoned VERY well. Pouring that over the rice, took it up a notch! Overall it was just an ok meal but my mom was very disappointed and we'll just drive out of our way to my childhood Original thai bbq.

I love Thai CHili because it is down the street from my house! They have some seriously tasty pad thai and drunken noodle. I tried their Tom Kha GAi soup and I asked for a medium spice, but I think they forgot to add it and it was just blan. I look forward to trying different things from thai restaraunts because no lie, they taste different everywhere. I was very disappointed in their pad see eww. The sauce was to bean-y and left a gross funky taste in my mouth that doesn't seem to leave. Probably one of the worst pad see ew I've ever tried.

I've been eating here for 2 years and I always get the Pad Thai chicken & Shrimp which is pretty good. I've tried every Thai restaurant around Orange and this is by far the best one. The egg rolls are descent too.

There is no way in hell this food rates anything than 1 star! One fine evening, we were craving some Thai food but didn't want to drive a million miles to get it, we looked Thai Chill up on yelp and read reviews and decided to give it a try for takeout. We ordered several dishes such as: -Pad see ew: The quality of the beef was horrible in this dish! Not sure if their using the cheapest and most disgusting types of meat but it was bad! No flavor at all, tasteless and the portions do not match up with the price of the dish! -Fried rice: I've never had tasteless fried rice before! Their wasn't any color to the rice, it looked like white rice with peas! The grains were so hard and chewy! Whack -Garlic Shrimp: All the shrimps were different sizes and different states of cooking, the majority were inedible! -Spare ribs: Just average, Alexis B. enjoyed them but they were nothing special. -BBQ Chicken: Moist but that was the only good thing about this meal, none the less I wouldn't come back here just only for the chicken. I don't know where these 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from! We never complain about the price of meal at all but in this case we all felt so cheated and ripped off! Sorry yelpers, I cannot recommend this place even in the worse of times, my advice is to go to the Original Thai BBQ in Fullerton or Cerritos!! Stay away from this place!!

Came for the lunch specials a few months back. Pros: Portion size and price (Lunch specials!) The decor Super friendly staff All the necessary Thai condiments I've come to expect, yet some Thai restaurants neglect to have Cons: IMO food was a little too sweet Anytime I visit a thai restaurant, I form my opinion based on their green curry. Even when ordering something very hot, it was still a little too sweet. Maybe, too much coconut milk or sugar? I can't say. The wife ordered pad thai, and she wasn't a fan. Still, my green curry by no means was bad, just good. Would I come back? Yes, I would, as it is the closest thai restaurant in my neighborhood and the food was decent enough to warrant a return visit.

Had the lunch special Pad Thai and it was dry, dry, dry. They serve it with a mound of rice and an overcooked thing that might have been an eggroll. I asked for a refill on my iced green tea and they said no refills. Not sure what's happened here - management change? Not coming back. I wouldn't bother. Too many other choices!

Save your money there are far better thai restaurants in the area. This place is inconsistent; from ok to bad meals. My spouse liked one of their dishes so I kept giving them a chance. I kept giving this place many chances but today was the last straw. The food was undercooked. Never again. Overpriced and consistently underperform.

It saddens me to lower my rating on yelp because I used to love this place. However something has changed here and I'm not sure what. Our usual server is no longer here, but oh well sometimes employees change right? The quality of the food and the flavor is what I noticed the most. The shrimp in the house special pad Thai isn't great quality (it used to be better) and there are very few in the entree. Our most recent visit to Thai Chili we ordered our usual and that included a Thai iced tea and a Diet Coke. We waited and waited for our appetizer to arrive. After about 15 minutes we stopped one of the servers and inquired if we could get our drinks. Our appetizer finally arrived, the Golden Tofu was good. However when wonton soup arrived something was weird with the wontons, the wonton wrapper was mushy like an over cooked noodle. The house special had Thai was disappointing it tasted like it was burnt and was missing that good peanutty taste. My husband and I are both sorry, but we won't be returning to this place.

Been going here with family and friends for the last 7 years. It's undergone renovations and looks pretty cute. Their food used to be off the charts couple years back. It is still good but not five star worthy. I mainly still go here because it's super close to my house and the good memories with my family here. So sentimental :-) I'm a fan of the yellow, green and red curries. Spicy basil tofu is also pretty addicting. The Tom Yum soup here is pretty bomb. Sometimes they burn the pad kee mao but it is still good most of the time. It loses in the battle between spice vs. flavor when I get it to-go and doesn't taste as flavorful as it should. I think in restaurant it tastes much better. I love spicy food but be careful cause spicy means spicy here. Also a big fan of their drinks. Young coconut is always refreshing. Thai tea and coffee here are very good. Not watered down like some places. Overall, come here and you won't regret it.

This place is great! The food is good, the prices are fair, and the staff is super friendly. It is quick and good for either dine in or take out. The atmosphere for a dine in restaurant is very nice and it is quiet. It would be good for a date or a relaxing evening.

I was sick last weekend and my wife was running errands, I asked her to pick up some thai, as I wanted soup and pad thai...only we haven't had thai in orange yet. So I hit up yelp and chose this place based on reviews. I was really happy with it, soup made me feel better and was delicious (Tom ka soup I think?) and the food was awesome as left overs the next day. I'd give it 5 stars, but since I did take out, I need to go and sit down to give it that extra star! haha. Thanks Thai Chili.

Ordered for Delivery *Pad Thai with beef *Combo Fried Rice We called in the order and it was painless to order over the phone unlike some places - 1 star The delivery was on-time - 1 star Pad thai - visually it looked fine. It smelled fine. The taste was not there however. The pad thai noodles was a bit starchy and the flavor was not that great, it already had a sour taste to it before we added any lemon. Fried rice - visually it didn't look too vibrant. It smelled fine. The taste was average. I've definitely had better at other places. The fried rice lacked some flavor and the meat that was cut had large chunks instead of cut into smaller pieces. They provided forks/spoons and napkins but no sauces. **We will not order from here again**

The food was taste less. I ordered a basil chicken lunch special. The soup that came with it was horrible, the dumpling in it just tasted like dough. The stem rice were over cooked. The chicken in my dish was tough and over cooked. Wasn't a good experience.

Wow! This place is so amazing I had to open a yelp account just to let everyone know how terrific it is. I had satay chicken and beef and they were awesome the peanut sauce was delicious it had just right amount of spice. I also tried the chicken dumplings and they were awesome they came with a soy sauce dipping sauce. All my coworkers enjoyed all the appetizers. I order the house lunch special or came with 5 chicken satay, your choice of rice, an egg roll a dumpling soup and a side salad. I also shared the papaya salad and that was crisp, tangy and fresh everything you would expect from a papaya salad. Everything was brilliant. The presentation was beautiful with a lovely butterfly carrot. To die for. The ambience was nice too very clean and charming with a small pond inside the restaurant. The staff was supper friendly. I hate to see people complain about the wait Thai food is not fast food and besides if you are with good company who really cares.

Great food quality and customer service! The menu has a lot to choose from. The food tastes great, I order the sweet & sour shrimp lunch plate. Includes fried rice, salad, egg roll, soup and the main dish. Everything was on point. Great little spot!

Why can't they follow simple directions? Salad with dressing on the side. Comes back soaked in dressing. Told them again. They just add vegetables and say it's okay now. No. Please dressing on the side. Comes back again with MORE veggies! OMG SO ANNOYING!!! Three times?! Come on! Forget it. Obviously they are not getting it. So I just picked out the shrimp. Did it even taste good? No. All the lettuce with wilted with the amount of dressing on it. Did they even give us a discount? No. Full price. Ugh never coming back here again.

I love Thai food so my cousin suggested this location near his house as a dinner option, I had to browse through yelp to scoop out the deets. And sure enough this restaurant was a 4 star establishment. So it obviously would be a great place to enjoy delicious food and good company. ENVIORNMENT The ambiance is very charming and evokes a true exotic homeyness to it. There's a beautiful mural hanging alongside one of the wall as well as a small man-made waterfall decoration. Truly a tranquil place to enjoy robust dishes. PRESENTATION For a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant, this establishment takes great pride is presenting their food is a very fashionable manner. Each dish was garnished with hand crafted decor which included a butterfly and various flowers and set in beautiful angular white plates (the type you see at really fancy restaurants). Definitely a nice touch! FOOD Appetizer: To start we went with the Mee Krob ($7.95) which is a sweet and tangy crispy noodle dish combined with some fresh beansprouts. Honestly, it tastes better than it sounds and was probably my favorite dish of the night. I highly recommended. :) Entree: Next we sampled three entrees which included Pad Thai ($7.95), Yellow Curry ($8.95), and Thai Spicy Basil ($8.95) and shared it family style to ensure maximum taste satisfaction. Among the three I was the most disappointed with pad thai as it was a little too soft for my liking and a bit on the watery side. I like mine a bit firmer and possibly slightly crispy with a more dry texture to it. The Yellow Curry had a good balance of sweet and savory while the Thai Spicy Basil were flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed both offerings. SERVICE Outstanding. Our server checked in out on frequently and our waters were virtually never empty, which I greatly appreciate. SUMMARY Everything is great! From the decorations and festive atmosphere down to the details emphasized in the dishes itself, this restaurant is a great place to entertain guests and have a fantastic meal. Additonally, the prices are hard to beat. In the future I'll have to come and check out their lunch special as the value is quite alluring. $7 for soup, rice, entree of your choice, and wonton. Sounds good to me! :)

Finally went here and sooo enjoyed it. My wife and I recently started enjoying Thai food and this place didn't disappoint. We started with thai dumpling. I liked that they were fried not steamed. My wife had coconut chicken soup (medium heat) which she loved. I had the spicy fried sole with pananga curry sauce (which is like a medium/hot heat ) so bomb!. They were very friendly and service was quick at dinner time around 5 pm. Will definitely go back. Such a treasure.

My family and I went to this restaurant and we love the food here so much. Pad thai here is awesome dish...not like other thai places that filled the dish with paprika. It was really tasty, even though I brought some left over home, its taste was still good. My husband loves orange chicken here so much. It is just not too orange taste but it is just perfect taste. Mango sticky rice for our dessert.. it was fantastic look. Their presentation was awesome.. didn't want even eat it because they made it like a heart... so beautiful. Good service.. definitely come back more often... love it...

My favorite chili place aruond!! Love love love the yellow chili. Tons of yummy carrotts and they even cut them into little butterflies. What? Yeah, this place rules. There is plenty to choose from & they have a lunch special menu which is pretty cheap. The staff is, well, a little clueless and ditzy at times, but they're super friendly and try to make up for it. I love coming here, I work nearby, so I've gotten many of my co-workers to try this place and they've all fallen in love as well.

Went there twice. Very inconsistent service. Second visit it took 14 minutes before someone took our drink orders. It wasnt busy. Just dont understand why it took so long. Then I ordered the house special bbq chicken dinner. Took 40 minutes to get to my table. The chicken was taste less. The fried rice tasted like leftovers that were two days old. No idea what happened to this place. First visit I got the number 2 special and it was really good. So no clue what went wrong tonight. Never going back though.

I've always order to-go and have husband pick them up. For big orders, they need a bit more time (45 minutes for 8 dishes). especially if you order during peak hour. Price is ok but flavor is excellent. I love spicy Thai food and Thai chili does not disappoint us. We specially love their curry (Penang is excellent, so are green, red and yellow). Their pineapple fried rice, Thai spicy basil, drunken noodle, pad krin are all full of flavor. Seriously, go try this place. The decor is really nice. I never would expect such a nice restaurant inside a rundown strip mall.

Yes I am being generous with 3 stars here (yeah I changed my mind so what!)... They really goofed things up today. Definitely not a place that I would want to go to often if at all again. So one of my co-workers wanted to do lunch and we decided to go here. Wow... very surprising place. I knew it was funky when I greeted our waitress/hostess with a Sawadee Krup (Thai for hello) and she said nothing back! This is always a bad bad sign I have found in the past... unfortunately it holds true. So we look at the lunch menu (lunch items come with Rice, wonton soup, and crispy wonton wrappers). We get our soup and start to chow down. It was a decently flavored and tasting wonton soup. PRO TIP: Parking here is a NIGHTMARE at lunch during the week... We get our main courses a few minutes later. This is where the problem arises. My coworker ordered green curry w/tofu and got orange curry with chicken. I got bbq chicken which was two small (1.5" wide 3"- 4"long) sections of breast meat with the bones still in them. The chicken was dry and the portions where the skin wasn't there was beginning to jerk. It had a decent taste though. But for $8 bucks it wasn't what I am used to, to say the least for thai food. Totally let down and my co worker was pretty disappointed as he had eaten there a few times before as well. Consequently I suggest avoiding this place... and in the end I downgraded my initial 3 star to a 2 star... I just couldn't rate it so high with major food prep style issues.
