This new establishment takes the place of Pearl of Siam. The interior and design is largely the same, but the menus are revamped, and the dishes (yes, I mean the plate ware) are new and fun. Speaking of new, I was greeted with appreciation and treated like royalty. The server seemed truly grateful for my visit, and attended to me and the other guests with enthusiasm. Since it was my first time here, I refrained from ordering a particular spice level; I always enjoy seeing what the "default" heat is like. During a discussion about the spice, the server informed me that the cook was one of the cooks from the previous restaurant, so I would probably already have a feel for the flavor. This excited me and concerned me at the same time. You see, I think there were two cooks at Pearl of Siam, and one was good, and the other was only mediocre, in my humble opinion. It explained a lot actually.... because the first several times I visited Pearl, I was entirely unimpressed. I gave up for years and never came back. Then I was dragged in by a friend who insisted on having lunch there, and to my amazement, it was good. So I went back... and it was good again! ... so I kept going back. Until one day it was crummy again. "What the. . . .?!", I thought to myself.... from that point on, I played Thai-Roulette from time to time until I figured out that there were two cooks. Remember how they only offered fresh rolls on certain days? That's how I figured it out. They told me at some point that there were two cooks, and that one guy made them and the other didn't. On went the big lightbulb. Back to Sukho . . . so the question was, which cook did they hire? Well, fresh rolls are part of the permanent menu, so I took that as a good sign. :) Indeed, the curry (green, veggie) had a nice flavor, and a fair level of spice for default. They do use fresh green chilies for spice level, so if you order it hot, the flavor will be smooth and rich. :) I'm looking forward to trying some of the other offerings, and I hope that the happy and courteous vibe continue even after they get settled in.

We have been there a number of times and food has always been great. The Kao Soi- Curry Noodles are the best.

Fast service, reasonable prices. Ordered the Pad Thai and Chicken Satay. Portions were respectable but flavor was average.

We have tried Sukho Thai (take out) under new management twice and the first time was really good. The vegetables were fresh, the flavors were good, and the food wasn't greasy. The second time, the greens in the spring rolls were rotten, the food was greasy and the flavors weren't great.

Best Thai food outside of Thailand!! Incredibly delicious and authentic with the option of ordering all organic- including meats. Stellar service and calming dining room. Support this local business!!

This is my favorite go to Thai place for lunch or dinner. Oak is amazing and the owner always says hello. As for the food, my favorite dish is the pad se ew, but I have had pumpkin curry and couple other items and have been more than satisfied. I have been to the others in the area but for quality and price this is a neighborhood gem:)

I went today. It was clean and really friendly. The service was great. The plating was a little pretentious and a tad costly but good. The salmon was tasty but for $18 really there should have been more than a piece of salmon in curry and 6 small broccoli florets. They might add additional veggies to that. I had the pumpkin chicken curry and it was slightly sweet for my taste but very good. My only real disappointment was the brown rice was not they typical red Thai rice but regular brown. It misses something without the red rice. I will be back when on that side of town.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the East Bay. Their food is fresh and all the meat and veggies are organic. I usually go for lunch because they have a great lunch special that comes with a tasty salad. Some of their best dishes are the yellow curry, the ginger chicken, the pad prik king, their fried vegetable spring rolls and the garlic chicken. Not only is the food great, but the service is always fast and super friendly.

This is the best customer service I've ever experienced at an eatery! Aside from that, the food is incredible -- clean, well-spiced, not salty, and super fresh. When I started asking questions about the ingredients, the server immediately alerted the chef (and owner?). "Oak" rushed to the table with a wide smile, and listened patiently to my dietary needs. In this case, I was asking which menu items do not have added sugar. Oak proceeded to brainstorm with my companion and I on ways he could revise our desired items. At first I thought he simply was providing amazing service. Soon, though, I realized how passionate he is about the food, the flavors, the methods of preparation... Amidst a busy restaurant, he calmly offered ideas and options to create our ideal alternative meal. Although he was nervous about how the items would turn out, he also was 100% eager to try something new. The results were awesome. We've returned recently, and again experienced the same level of care. Oak encouraged us to pick some new items so he could play again. And again, the outcome was a resounding Two Thumbs Up. On this visit, we noticed Oak was treating other parties the same way - listening to their questions, providing kind responses, and offering alternatives. Don't miss this place! Thank you, Oak and Team at Sukho Thai. You've become our go-to spot for healthy, authentic Thai food!

Well I will weigh in on this spot to say I think it is pretty darn good - I am no novice to Thai food and everything I tried today was on point. They offer a small house salad with the lunch specials and the greens were crisp and chilled, a mix of mesclun and romaine with some julienned carrots and purple cabbage topped with a tangy refreshing ginger dressing. The fried vegetable spring rolls were crispy and stuffed with veggies, vermicelli and surprise a bit of sweet corn! Sweet chili sauce for dipping and a nice garnish on the plate as well. The $9 thai basil eggplant chicken was a generous portion, and the sauce was deeply flavored and although I ordered medium spicy will go for full on spicy next time. However the server did bring a tray of three different chili pastes to kick it up a notch. Egg plant was melty in the mouth and had soaked up the sauce, crisp carrots, red and green pepper, onion also in the mix and quite a lot of chicken. No skimping there either. Server was friendly, food came out quickly and the ambience as pleasant. Since it's close by a welcome addition to my regular spots list.

I took the Bart into the city to meet the fiancé for dinner. Always an experience. Anyways we are new to the area and didn't realize how busy some of the restaurants get. So after visiting two Japanese places that were completely booked, we gave up and took the train back to Rockridge. We ended up here as it was rated highly and close to the station. We ordered three things: fried tofu appetizer, papaya salad for me, and their house special dish whose name escapes me. It's right front and center on their menu with a spicy warning to boot! The fried tofu was meh. My impression was that it wasn't fresh. The costing was really thick and the tofu was really flat and mushy. It was served with the sweet spicy chili sauce which saved the dish. The papaya salad was good. I really enjoyed this dish. Though I've had better, it was good and I'd order it again. Their special dish (I'll post the name later) was pretty awesome. I've been hoping I'd find a place in the Bay Area where they don't water down the sauces or broth and here it is. The sauce was spicy but not overpowering. The taste was really fantastic. We got the version with fish. Dish was tasty too. Best part? It made a great fried rice lunch even with just the left over sauce and veggies. I'd definitely go back again if I'm in the area.

They have a large menu, lunch specials, and an afternoon tea time with small bites! Service was great, they let us take our time ordering. My go-to thai dishes are yellow curry and pineapple fried rice, but today I ordered the pumpkin curry and I was not disappointed. I am horrible at tolerating spicy food, but this dish was perfectly spiced. Tasty, but not too spicy for me! The price was great as well, our bill for two entrees and a thai iced coffee was only $22. Yay for good thai food!

I just had dinner there last night and they were beyond accommodating with the alterations we needed to make for dietary reasons. The service was top notch, the chef Oak, made special dishes and personally brought them to our table to ensure we liked the alterations that we requested. Coming back as often as possible.

With all the great Thai Restaurants in the East Bay, Sukho Thai was underwhelming in every sense. Based on my lunch experience, I was completely disappointed as this place is highly rated on yelp. Friend chose this place for lunch since the menu was very descriptive, which was great since friend has some dietary restrictions. We arrived promptly at noon and were the first patrons. We were greeted warmly by the waiter and he let us choose any table to sit at. Everything after that just went down hill. As the lunch hour progressed, more patrons arrived and the restaurant was soon filled up. Other than the waiter, there was only one other server, a waitress. They both couldn't handle all the tables and would run around without paying any attention to the patrons. Whenever we needed something, we would have to wave someone down, which was not easy since neither of the servers would look up at the dining room. It took a long time for our dishes to arrive and I noticed that other tables that had ordered after us would get their dishes first. When the waitress brought out our salads, she got mixed up and brought us soups. The food itself was a good portion but executed poorly. I did like that they offered lunch specials even on the weekends. An entree comes with your choice of soup or salad. Both friend and I ordered the same thing: - Classic Kua Kai: Stir-fried wide rice noodles with marinated chicken, and egg served on a bed of iceberg lettuce. Sounded pretty good. I thought I'd try something different since I've only had the usual noodle dishes Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew. The chicken and pieces of scrambled eggs were so overcooked and rubbery. The tiny pieces of chicken were so skimpy though. The bed of iceberg lettuce was half raw and half cooked...not sure what the intent is there. The worst was bits of burnt garlic pieces peppered throughout the dish. Noodles were plenty and just so-so. - side salad: a mix of iceberg lettuce and greens with a peanut dressing. This we really nothing special. The iceberg lettuce was in too large pieces for a salad and there were some wilted mixed greens in there. The dressing was a watered down concoction with some ground up peanuts. There wasn't much flavor in the dressing. Our lunch specials were $9 each. A fair price but not so great in value since the dishes lacked anything substantial. The only pros I can really think of were that the seating was comfortable in the dining room and that the restroom was clean. The decor is warm and inviting with little nuances of Thai theme. Not sure if I came on an off day, or the Classic Kua Kai just isn't one of their best. Probably wouldn't go back to Sukho Thai since there are other options in the Rockridge neighborhood.

This is based on a single lunch visit. Highs: the salad dressing (some sort of ginger carrot thing) is delicious. The presentation of the dishes was also very visually appealing. The food itself was good, with the pad thai rating not at the absolute top of the scale but in the upper quartile. The soup was also tasty and visually appealing. Lows: there weren't very many people at the restaurant, and we were seated far from people. That was fine, but it meant that both for asking a question about an ingredient and to pay our bill, I had to track down the wait staff because I got tired of waiting. Overall: a good experience, and I plan on returning to both try more dishes and to see if perhaps the service we experienced was an anomaly.

I can't say this is the most outstanding Thai I've had, but it's close and very good. More importantly, the guy who takes orders understands that vegan means no egg and no fish sauce (common in Thai dishes), so that makes it a no brainer. You want to try the grilled eggplant. The beer selection is various Asian things, so don't expect too much. They have a happy hour too.

Very solid Thai restaurant. Service is friendly and fast. Most menu items we've tried have been delicious: pumpkin curry, spicy basil, pad see ew, massamun curry. Absolutely love the hot Thai tea on a cold day. Perfect place for a casual date, takeout, or lunch.

I haven't tried too many of the foods yet but I'd say the food is all pretty good. Servings are generous. Ambience is lovely and comfortable. Pad Thai is nice and flavorful but a bit salty. Pumpkin curry was fabulous but didn't have enough pumpkin. Service is friendly. Nice neighborhood spot.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed these guys yet! They're my go-to for Thai food these days. The Tofu Pad Thai is a steal and so incredibly delicious. The noodles are on the thinner side and make for more clumpy goodness, plus the tofu is pan-fried to perfection. Their pumpkin curry, curry puffs and spring rolls are also bomb! Service is usually great and to-go orders are a snap. Such an unpretentious relief in the midst of other snooty College Ave restaurants. Go go go.

I have trouble wrapping my brain around how a mediocre, run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant in the Bay Area has four stars on Yelp. Sukho Thai used to be Pearl of Siam, and Pearl of Siam served super bland, uninspired, watered-down Thai food. This was especially weird given Pearl of Siam's primo location on College Ave in the Rockridge neighborhood, where seriously good restaurant options abound. I was hoping Sukho Thai had made some sort of improvement over the blah food of its previous incarnation, but unfortunately that appears not to have happened. Let's start with the apps. The prawn rolls were wholly uninteresting, while the sweet potato fries were strangely under seasoned and a fairly boring example of what should normally be a pretty flavorful staple. I did like how light and fluffy they were, though. The green curry chicken was solidly average. Not bad - you can definitely find worse around these parts - but the flavors were nothing to get excited about. The curry was thin and watery in texture and wasn't particularly spicy. Green curry should come pretty spicy - you shouldn't have to ask for it to be hot. The chicken consisted of the standard, dried-out, flavorless pieces of breast that most Thai restaurants seem content to subject their customers to. The veggies seemed fresh, and overall the dish looked nice and clean, but this was all pretty "meh". The pad kee mao was a little better, and at the very least, it was a little spicier. The flavors were there, the ingredients seemed fresh enough, the bits of cabbage had some crunch, and the rice noodles had a pleasing texture. But overall, this alone wouldn't leave me pining for more. Sukho's prices were pretty reasonable, the service was friendly enough, and the dishes were generally fresh and clean, but if you're a serious Thai food aficionado who expects your palette to be assaulted with rich and complex layers of flavor (and plenty of heat), and who seeks out Thai food potent and intense enough to leave you groaning on the floor in ecstasy, then this place is just not going to cut it. If you prefer your Thai food on the mild side, Sukho is the place for you.

They're sweet and the takeout comes out fast, and the dining room is cute too. I don't love everything on the menu but am a fan of the basil eggplant, fresh rolls, and sticky rice. They definitely don't suck-o!

Sukho Thai is definitely a hidden gem in the Rockridge area, stuck on a corner with an unassuming exterior, but serving up extremely flavorful and surprisingly light Thai food. For the first time, I wasn't downing cups of water after a Thai meal because they took the time to really develop the flavors with the ingredients themselves rather than with sodium and MSG. We started with the roti, which came with a curry dipping sauce. The roti itself was both flaky and chewy, the perfect texture that I look for in roti. Next, we shared the pineapple fried rice and the pumpkin curry. The pineapple fried rice came in a giant portion and generously stir-fried with both chicken and shrimp. The pumpkin curry didn't have too much coconut milk, and the level of saltiness was just enough to pair with rice. Once again, both of the main dishes didn't leave me needing water all night. I'm sad that I didn't discover this spot until I graduated from Berkeley because Sukho Thai is definitely one of the best places for Thai in the area!

Well... It's one of those scenarios where the food was good, but the service was just crap. The waiters especially the male server during the day on Sunday has a pretty bad attitude and is super slow. A few tables ordered the same time we did and while the other two were severed water, their salads and entray by the female server within the standard wait time of 5-10 mins. Water alone took 15 mins., salads were completely forgotten, roti about 20 mins, food took 35 mins. And at each go we had to ask for it. Lovely...by this time I was so tired of asking for things we decided not to even bring up the salad issue. Wow...thanks for the shacktastic experience...

Grabbed a quick dinner here this evening and I was really impressed! Split the fresh spring rolls and the tofu was quite tasty. I'm a boring Thai girl and can't venture past my go-to yellow curry. Nicely prepared with just the right amount of spices and balanced elements. Accompanied the meal with a glass of the Irony, which is always a good wine option. Very nice option for a go-to for Thai in Rockridge.

Pretty convenient and well-decorated Thai restaurant with your average Thai dishes and excellent staff. Caution: You may be underwhelmed given the raving reviews here. Disclaimer: I think the 5 star reviews of Sukho Thai may have set my expectations a little too high. Personally, I thought it was okay and average for what you would usually get at any Thai restaurant (it was just a little pricier). My dad thought "it was the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to". Eh. Debatable. The food was pretty good and flavorful, without the feeling of being overdosed on MSG like some other restaurants have a tendency to do. We had ordered the papaya salad, a veggie dish, a basil veggie dish, pumpkin curry, pad thai, and one seafood stir-fy. I apologize for the vagueness of these descriptions in advance - it's just that they weren't really memorable enough for me. The papaya salad was a refreshing started, though a little bit too tangy for my tastes because of the lime juice they had squeezed on top. This dish was really fresh! The two veggie dishes were basically the same thing, except the basil dish... well... had basil in it with a little bit of chili peppers? When we got the seafood dish, it was practically the same, except... you guessed it, there was seafood in it. I personally didn't try the pumpkin curry or the pad thai, but my dad loved the curry, and my boyfriend liked the pad thai well enough. The curry is supposedly one of their main attractions as well. Service was pretty great. The staff was attentive, open to a lot of the questions that we had, and pretty fast with delivering and taking away the dishes. TL;DR +/- Food: Average, a lot of similarities in dishes, pretty healthy/refreshing/fresh 3/5 - Price: For the quality of the dishes, it was a little on the pricey end. Granted we did end up opting for organic chicken (+$2) for some of the dishes. 3/5 + Ambiance: Good lighting, tastefully decorated with cultural pieces, pretty open space, really comfortable seating 5/5 + Service: Attentive, welcoming, warm 5/5

I used to order from here regularly, but never again. They have previously taken longer than stated for take-out orders, but today was ridiculous -- 20+ minutes after the specified time, which meant my food wasn't ready until AFTER my dinner guests had arrived at my house. And then the manager yelled at me for asking them to hurry up and lied to me about the time they got my order. Soi84 may be a little more expensive and further from my house, but the food and service there are better and they are MUCH more reliable, so in the future, they will get my business.

Average at best. Although there were few reviews we were excited to try this place but disappointed by the über slow service and forgettable meal. My ground pork soup with noodles was a nice treat on a cold day however the flavors were boring. Simply a tom yum base. Hubs had the pad Thai, which again was good though not great. The sauce was heavy. Saving grace!! When the server noticed I didn't finish she immediately offered to take half off, which was great. Another server came out to ask why I didn't care for the pork noodle soup (#17 I think) He seemed to genuinely appreciate my comments. They've only been open 2 months so give them a chance.

I ordered take out from here and ordered pad see ew with tofu and pumpkin curry with pork. I wish the pad see ew had more "wok hei," and it needed more sauce/salt, but the noodles and veggies were cooked well. The pumpkin curry was good, but doesn't come with rice included, which is a downfall. It's not as affordable as other Thai options in Berkeley, but I'd come back if I was in the area.

This is a wonderful neighborhood Thai place. The service is always excelled as is the food. I usually get a selection of appetizers including the fresh rolls, roti and steamed dumplings. Love the yellow curry for the mains. The larb is good too but super spicy, so be warned.

Sukho Thai is one of my staples, I eat here at least once a month. After the remodeling, the atmosphere has really improved and there is a really cute vibe that my fiancé enjoys. The restaurant offers a wide range of great Thai food including curry, noodles, soup, and a great mango prawn salad. Highly recommended.

My second time at Sukho Thai, and it continues to impress! We had the mango salad---I loved the combination of textures of soft mango and crunchy veggies and contrasting flavors of sweet, sour and herbal. Easily one of my favorite things in the menu. We also had duck curry, which was generous with the duck and in a pleasingly spicy coconut sauce with pineapple and tomato. Pad Thai with shrimp was very good--- not too sweet, just right. Basil Eggplant with chicken was also delicious, thick delicious sauce, tender slices of chicken. We had curry puffs for an appetizer, and they were ok, probably wouldn't order them again with all the other choices I've yet to try.

A hidden gem in the Rockridge dining scene. I came here for lunch and ate a collection of light bites and they were all delicious. The roti with curry sauce and the fresh rolls stood out. The pricing is extremely reasonable that makes this place with good food and good prices a five star choice.

A friend and I met here and I was excited to try my two favorite go-to dishes that can tell me whether or not a Thai restaurant is worth going to. I want to give this place 3 1/2 stars but damn you YELP and your black and whiteness. Thom Ka- BLAND. I'm spoiled rotten by Racha cafe. There was very little flavor and almost no lemongrass (which is weird because I don't like lemongrass but realized it's what makes Thom Ka so refreshing), no cilantro, and it was warm not hot. Pad Thai- the flavors were ok but the noodles were cooked too long. They included peanuts (which Champa Garden forgets) but all in all I wasn't impressed. Pumpkin Curry- teas our best selection. Pumpkin was cooked and the flavors were good- but I still wanted it more spicy. I've been to Thailand so maybe my pallet is tainted but this place is only so-so. Racha Cafe is way better but their chef changed recently so I'm not sure what I'll do at this point! :/

The one dish I ordered for take-out impressed me for freshness, temperature and strong flavors. I got the Pad Kee Mao. I asked for the order to be delayed by 10 minutes so that it would be ready when I was done with another errand and they had no problem doing that. So... good service. The food was still piping hot when I got it home. It was not as spicy as I thought it would be, so if you like spicy food then make sure you ask for spice.

May be some of the best Thai I've ever had. If you're local do yourself a favor. Still a small place where you can just walk in without a reservation, hope it stays that way.

Sukho Thai is in a corner spot once occupied by Pearl of Siam. HH (4:30-6) and lunch menu available. lunch special (greencurry) 10 -soup sweet tasting with broculli, cabbage, carrot slices, slight msg enchancement? -egg roll, little veggie filling, just semifried. -green curry full flavored with some spiciness, with cucumbers, green beans, other veggies. fresh tasting good value 3.5 stars notes: -noodles, soups, curries, rice plates also on lunch menu -just a few tables, service good.

One of the most underwhelming Thai food experiences of my life. Not only is it overpriced for the quality and amount of food but don't expect to get decent customer service. My table felt ignored and it took way to long for such a slow night.

Came here about a year ago, it was very good, but kind of dark. Had dinner tonight, wow, it has brightened up. The servers are very good, that has not changed. The dinner, once again, was SO fresh. You can taste the fresh lime, fresh cilantro, fresh everything like it was JUST picked from a garden. Not a fancy place, but clean and welcoming. I am coming back the first chance I can get. Oh, it was that good.

Fabulous Thai food I've never had better Thai food, even in Thailand. The ambiance and location are great, but it is the delicious food that sets it apart. Our fresh rolls appetizer was a lovely combination of vegetables and fried tofu, with fresh mint seasoning and a tasty sauce. The main dishes were Emerald Mermaid (seafood with green curry, less spicy), the sauteed basil, fresh tofu with eggplant (medium spicy) and the chicken with green beans were all perfectly prepared with artful seasoning. Although we asked for medium hot with a couple of the dishes, they would be acceptable even by those who are challenged by hot, spicy food, so if you want it very hot, ask for it as that. My wife is one of those who doesn't like cilantro at all, but she loved everything we had, so if it is there, it's not noticeable to those who find it aversive. There were various rice options, but we found the brown rice excellent. For dessert, we had a treat of fried bananas and two tropical ice creams, coconut and mango. They have a range of beers (including Thai) and wines, all at reasonable prices. The preparation time was quick and the service was professional and knowledgeable. A memorable experience.

Wow. This place is great. They have options for organic menu items and even a choice of wild-caught salmon or what they call "super salmon." We had the latter, and with their "seafood sauce" it was excellent. A generous filet, steamed, i think, over baby asparagus that was perfectly cooked. I asked what the seafood sauce was, and they said it was Thai fish sauce with lime. They toned it down so it would not be too spicy or smelly (as standard fish sauce is). We also had the organic red curry vegetables with tofu. They happily fulfilled our request for "soft" tofu rather than fried. The veggies were served crisp, altho some of the cabbage slices were too hard. The curry combined spicy and sweet flavors in a rich sauce, but not too creamy. I like Thai ice tea, but without sugar and cream. They call it "ice tea." It had an amazing rich flavor like no ice tea I've had, including Thai. And it was only $2.00 with free refills. Service was prompt and cheerful. The restaurant used to have a different name and ownership, and this one certainly looks better.

If there was a 1/2 star I would have given it 1 1/2 star. We ordered the Fresh Roll and wasn't so fresh and the basil was overpowering. After sometime, our main course arrived of Noodles and chicken. We continued to wait a while for our drinks and refills. I guess it was an off day?!?

Third time here in 6 months. While the food is not bad, it is not great. The service has been lacking each trip here. "Spicy" does not seem to be a reality once the dish is served and additional hot sauce is always required. I can honestly say I would not go out of my way to eat here but the food is decent in a pinch.

My party waited roughly 50 minutes for our main dishes. Although the food was good, the terrible customer service outweighed the quality of the food. When I complained to the manager, he started to defend himself and didn't cater to my complaint. He should've just apologized for the food not arriving on time. One waiter was hard to communicate with because he seemed he didn't know English very well. Terrible managerial skills and bad customer service.

Let me just start off by saying.... the nicest people! I'm a native to the Bay Area and this is by far my favorite Thai place! I walk in, day and night and it is always superb. (free dinners, free tea and willingness to drop off my order... Could it get any better?!) Best dishes: -Spicy Tofu Basil (if you like spice then ask for extra!!) -Veggie Spring Rolls -Tofu Cubes w/ plum sauce +: -amazingly attentive costumer service -authentic Thai food (not so Americanized) -reasonable prices for dinner -perfect family dinner restaurant -happy hour is so inexpensive! -consistently good food! -great for vegetarians & vegans -ORGANIC!!!! -: -closes to early for lunch. 3:30 would be better! -very authentic decor but this is not my ideal date night choice... Thank you Sukho Thai!!!

A diamond of a place! My boyfriend and I wandered in tonight on a whim and fell in love with it almost instantaneously. The staff was funny, charming, and efficient, presenting us with some of the best Thai food I've had to date. We got the veggie spring rolls, fried tofu, Pad Thai and Pad See Ew, which were all fantastic; we both agreed that the Pad Thai was the best we've ever experienced. Everything was presented so beautifully, I felt like I was getting an experience worth twice what I was paying! Definitely a great place for those new to Thai cuisine and those familiar, all organic and all delicious. Looking forward to our next visit!

I will keep this short and sweet. I judge a Thai restaurant by the Pad Thai. This was one of the worst I have had. They got two stars because the Pad Kee Mao and yellow curry were pretty decent. Won't be back

Great food and great service. Would defiantly eat here again.

Much improved over when they first opened. Try the pumpkin curry. Nice flavors, fresh, good amount of pumpkin. All the food is reliable now. Good spot. Not sure why but all Thai restaurants give you a hard time when you try to order extra crushed peanuts on the side.

Was a little hesitant because of all the mediocre Thai food in this area (we usually trek to Champa Garden for our Thai cravings), but was pleasantly surprised. Takeout service was fast and friendly. Excellent fresh rolls, pad see ew, and pumpkin curry with a good kick. Only bad thing was the Super Salmon which was undercooked. Happy to have this place in the neighborhood, I'm sure we'll be back soon.

This place is a nice Thai alternative to the more fancy pants Thai place Soi 4 which is really good too but different ambiance. This restaurant is causal and to the point. Good Thai staples. I had the fried tofu app and fresh rolls- fresh rolls were very good. I had a papaya salad main and bf had shrimp pad Thai. Both were very good and at good prices. Would def go back.

Just came here for lunch. Lunch special includes choice of soup or salad. Best Thai food in Berkeley I would have to say. Having lived here for 4 years, I have tried nearly every Thai restaurant within a 10 mile radius. I tried the spicy eggplant with chicken and could tell the ingredients were extremely fresh and the portion size was adequate. The presentation was also elegant. Waitress was very nice, and for the quality of the meal, the price $9 plus tax was very reasonable. Would definitely come here again!

This place is a great takeout spot - it took only 10 minutes from order to when I received my food! Their thai iced tea isn't the best I've had in the East Bay, but the eggplant stirfry, and pad see ew are wonderful. I'll definitely stop by again for lunch.

I hate telling people about my restaurant finds, because invariably i can't get in anymore (Maricas).... But they are new, Thai, happy hour is 4-6 dollars with half price beer and wine...which is pretty decent... I had a nice bottle of Rose for 12.50... Don't judge, not white Zinfandel! Run , don't walk... I will go until I am no longer able to get in.

I ordered Pad Kee Mao takeout. It was really fast. Server was very courteous. Prices were a bit higher than other thai restraunts I've been to, but affordable and delicious! Will come again.

Delicious. Despite the unassuming looks, this place was a wonderful surprise. The food was really flavorsome, and gorgeously presented. Organic chicken satay skewers (they have a separate menu of organic options), chicken salad, mango salad, pad Thai, pork noodles (the one with both ground and roast pork) were all stellar. Everything was delicious, fresh and full of rich, fragrant flavors. Excited by this discovery - it's a great (and affordable) addition to the rockridge food options.

I returned from Thailand to find my corner Thai food place - Pearl of Siam- closed. I was in a state of despair until Sukhothai opened on College Avenue. The staff and chef are super welcoming and make delicious food. I went on a day and had a curry lunch special- spring rolls cooked to perfection (not over or under done), tasty chicken yellow curry and an offering of brown rice. Food was served in quick time and I was in and out with my bill paid in less than 40 minutes. Make no mistake, I didn't feel rushed- but my belly was appeased promptly. Overall- super excited to have a thai place back in Rockridge.

You know how it is when you find YOUR Thai spot. The food is good, the prices are good, you can get take-out very easily. This is my Thai spot. I didn't have one when I moved here, now I do, and I'm holding back from ordering from here every week, which is what I really want to do. They have your favorites which are done well and a good selection of other fun dishes to try, especially seafood.

Delicious food, slow service, but we weren't in a rush. The Pad See Ew was still good the next day! Mango dessert was awesome. Even the unexpected flavor combinations were fantastic. Will definitely stop by here if ever in Rockridge again.

I have to say, I love this place. This is my favorite Thai restaurant at this point. I've had their fresh rolls and curry puffs and both appetizers are amazing. I've been here twice and both dishes were superb. I have had their pad thai and their pad kee mao. This is also the place for vegans. They will veganize a dish for you. It is awesome. I look forward to next time.

We had the coconut soup, green curry, and green bean stir fry with prawns. The flavors were good overall, but nothing exceptional.

Had basil eggplant tofu and green curry chicken. Food was tasty but the tofu was fairly tasteless and the chicken tough and overcooked.

This thai restaurant replaces Pearl of Siam, so I'm not sure if it's under "new management". The food was good. I got the tom-yum tofu soup and the beef prik-khing dish. There was a fair amount of heat in the dishes. Yay for brown rice options. Overall, the meal will set you back about $9-10 for the main dishes. For lunch, they have combo specials involving protein curry dishes and an appetizer starter for ten bucks. The place was very clean and the servers were nice. I give it 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4.0 (1st one for 2014 ha).

Nice and quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Friend had pad see ew and I had pad thai. Both were amazing -- fresh AND flavorful. (I say this because I've been eating dorm food for a while.) Soup is good too.

Overall very tasty! Servers seemed a bit inexperienced but I would go back and try another entree from the enticing menu.

Now we're talking! Organic thai food, my new favorite spot! The service is beyond great. They are the nicest on the block. A little pricy but I'll pay whatever for organic! My organic soup was great but a little bit too salty, my organic green curry with organic chicken was pretty tasty but a little too watery and I think if it wasn't so watery it would have tasted that much better but maybe it was watery because of the organic ingredients? The fried veggie spring roll are AMAZING and so is the dipping sauce. They are new so they are working out the kinks. I will be back more and more.

Best thai I've found around the area. I've never been to Thailand for the authentic stuff but I have been pretty happy with the meals every time I've gone there. And the lunch special gets you a good amount of food for a great price.

Just tried this place for the first time since it opened in the spot where Pearl of Siam used to be. This might be some of the best Thai food in the East Bay. We ordered fresh rolls, mango salad, Pad Thai and green curry with a side of brown rice. Every dish...even the brown rice...was excellent, and the people running the place were super nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it's a little pricey for Thai food, which I understand - commercial space in Rockridge isn't cheap. Regardless, we'll be frequenting Sukho Thai. It's really, really good.

Delicious! Great location in Rockridge. Highly recommend the pumpkin curry - delicious, fresh, seasonal. Also liked the organic brown rice option. We enjoyed our meal last night and also really enjoyed meeting Ann. We wish you all the best! Thank you for a delicious meal.

Came here with a friend for a quick early dinner at 5 pm. We didn't need to make a reservation then but maybe it'll be a good thing to consider if you plan to have a later dinner because it did start to get busier. We ordered the pad thai and a thai noodle soup and shared. That was my first time trying a Thai soup so I didn't know what to expect, but it hit the spot for me. Nothing extraordinary, but filling and lightly flavored. Pad Thai was pretty good. Ambience is casual and clean. Service was good. Bathroom is tidy = plus! I really like how clean the food tastes! I think I read somewhere on their site that they use some organic ingredients and free range chicken. I'd be down to come back again.

Is this place new? I tried it for the first time today for lunch - had the pad thai (YUM!) and red curry with beef. Everything was delicious, and it was by far the best Thai restaurant I've tried in the East Bay.

Popped in here the other day when it was cloudy and cold the other day for some curry. I was treated like a queen! They met me at the door with the lunch menu and asked what I was looking for. I wanted to take it to go and eat it at home. I specifically want veggie options with NO fish sauce and they were REALLY attentive when I asked for this without seeming like they were just appeasing me. They even offered me an iced thai tea or coffee without dairy because they were having a lunch special where you go it for free with your meal. I liked the lunch specials a lot, we got green and red curry with edamame and fried tofu. Really good, perfect for the day and GREAT service!!!! We will be going back here often!!!!
