One of my favorite places in the bay! They're quick, affordable, and the food is great! I usually get prawn fried rice, prawn chow mein, dry fried ribs, and salt and pepper shrimp! It's great!

My brother turnt me on to this spot about four-five years ago' but just recently the older lady that answers phone's literally yeld at me over the phone, now I'm not sure if the old lady needs a brake, or a man it certain she should get her act together. Because know matter how good you cook, one thing is for certain two things for sure they lost a twice weekly eighty plus spender! I'm giving two stars only because they crab go crazy.

We tried to order online and when we put in our address we received a response that we were out of their area. We are just a mile away. We phoned in our order. The service was prompt, and reasonably priced. Our food was still steaming hot. We thought that was great. Upon taking our first bite we were sure something was wrong. Neither dish tasted correctly. My partner threw his away. I ate half of mine. We were both very disappointed. Not going to order from there again.

This place use to be great...I don't know what happened. The food is disgusting, not fresh and questionable flavors. Last time we ate here, I had more crumbs than dried fried ribs, greasy no flavor chow mein and baby pink shrimp rice. I stay away from the bread "meats" in sauce, I find them to be hard as if they are old and very inedible. I definitely won't be returning as a customer.

Sad to say they have fell completely off! I ordered delivery and every thing from the rice to the Wong ton soup was completely just gross! I think the normal cook moved back to China! So my fried rice was burned, my 3 way won ton soup had an off taste like something was spoiled. My dried died ribs were just ok. I was so disappointed because I grew up on this place....

2 1/2 stars, rounded up - Ok tasting, low quality Chinese take-out or delivery that won't give you food poisoning Food: Veggie Egg Rolls - 2 stars - By the time I got back to work 20 minutes later, they still weren't soggy - that's pretty f'n impressive. What wasn't impressive though is how they tasted. Even tried dipping it in their extra sweet Sweet & Sour Sauce, but still not any better yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… Mongolian Beef - 2 stars - A little spicy, and different from most other places. I'm used to getting beef and green onions, but their version has a few different vegetables and is a lot saucier yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… Sriracha Hot Chili Beef - 2 1/2 stars - Doesn't taste anything like Sriracha, but it's still spicier than most Chinese dishes you've had around here. They load it up w/ 2-3 times more dried red chili peppers than beef. I liked it better than the Mongolian Beef though yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… Steamed Rice - 2 stars - How are you gonna fumble steamed rice and made it dry? Really bro? yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… Chicken Chow Mein - 3 stars - Nothing special, but probably one of your better options on the menu yelp.com/biz_photos/jade… Other: - Take-out and delivery only - Thick bulletproof windows at the counter like you see at some banks - Food is made pretty fast - The locals come here to pick up some of their fried crab

This was my go to place for Chinese food in Oakland. I've been eating Jade Palace for over 15 years they must have new ownership because the food I order tonight was disgusting. I ordered Kung Pao beef and Prawn fried rice. I took pictures just to show how much of the beef was in the container it was 75 to 90% vegetables there was no BEEF at all I was very disappointed. The rice was very old, a lot older than usual so old it was stuck to the container like how if you leave it in the container overnight or something of the other it was very gross and hard but the prawns inside were cooked to perfection. I will never spend my hard earned money there again and it is my advice to other s to not do the same. When you go to a restaurant that you feel you trust, it shouldn't be hit or miss it should be good every time. they have lost a long time faithful customer they will not be receiving any of my money for any reason ever again I've always overlooked their choppy customer service because of the food but now that the food is of poor quality I had to send out my Yelp my opinion

Ordered delivery from Jade Palace again, and this time got the fried rice with the bobo platter. It seemed that the quality of the food is still mediocre and the greasy as ever. The egg rolls were soft and inside was a mix of vegetables, but I didn't enjoy it at all. The fried wontons was not what I expected, the skin was fluffy yet crunchy and the filling was just crab meat and a white sauce. Chow mein was really greasy, and chicken wings was so salty and crunchy that it hurt my teeth when I bit into it. Thought the second time would be better, but disappointed again.

Let me preface this review by saying this place is ssssssooooo close to 4 stars! Menu: EXTENSIVE is the word I think of for this menu. It covers most of the wall space in this tiny hole in the wall. Now mind you, when it comes to most places to get non home cooked food, I have 2 main beliefs. 1) The hole in the wall that you didn't know existed and passed by everyday for years is most likely the best place EVER.... 2) In 95% of cases, NEVER trust a skinny chef....or one that doesn't eat their own cooking. Both seem pretty obvious. In my defense, my father was a chef before his passing, and he was NOT thin, and he LOVED to taste, eat, and create his own food. This place falls into spot #1, it's a hole in the wall. The only chair are for waiting for your food. This is all reflected in the prices......you can get a dinner combo plate with 2 servings worth of rice, entree, and some of their crispy fried rib things for under $9 in most cases. To add the awsomeness that all this is, they deliver! Anywhere in Oakland so far! Now it DOES cost $5 for delivery so don't get too excited. BUT the food is there in 45 minutes or less, and piping hot. Their entree's come in 3 sizes, any of which are so packed into the box that they can't even close them. Their food isn't always what you expect....some items are fried that you wouldn't expect. Some sauces are served on the side. Some you WISH were served on the side. All of it is plentiful, and I have only found a few things that weren't to my taste. However, when it comes to chinese food I am uber picky so take that with a grain of salt. I DO love that the fried rice has ZERO vegetables in it....I am always the one picking out the gross frozen peas and carrots out of my rice. My absolute most guilty pleasure at this place are the pork buns. I covet those ALMOST as much as my soda stream machine....just saying..... Keep in mind readers: This place is NOT PF Changs, Panda Express, or some fancy schamncy place where they wait on you, sing, or even entertain your self perceived ideations of being a chinese food connoisseur. I would liken this place to The Carl's Jr. of the chinese food world. If you want 2 servings of decent, piping hot, tummy filling, chinese food with enough left over to buy a slupee at the 7-11 down the street....this is the place for you!

My mom has been coming here for years, but moved to Stockton. Whenever she comes to visit, she'll stop and bring our favorite: salt and pepper ribs! They're the best here. The 4 way rice is also very delicious.

I was sitting in church starving like Marvin. (throwback) Once I got out I took to yelp on a food quest. Stomach touching my back at this point. Fish King had just closed so Jade Palace it was... after listening to people I know and yelp raves about this place I wanted to see what they had to offer. The dry fried ribs look like pork chops. My rice was a little crunchy, it will definitely need water to be revived. The mongolian chicken had been like no other I've seen. It had pieces that looked like chow mein noodles with a texture of bamboo shoot?? green and orange bell pepper, onions, TWO zucchini pieces and minced garlic. Felt more like vegetable chicken. All the items had fair taste. However, I find it too salty for my palate. When it comes to chinese food you seem to have to ask each restaurant how they prepare a dish named the same elsewhere. Unfortunately I was up against the clock with closing and a massive hunger headache. In a better space I would have asked specific questions. Well, I'm not going to bed hungry. My fat calories could have been wasted on something else. As I'm typing this I am noticing the excess thirst. MSG?? I should have had a V8! Cest le vie!

One star for good rice. Egg Foo Yung with no egg no shrimp, Horrible Horrible taste. General TSOs chicken was very old. Egg Roll , no egg, no shrimp, sweet noodles and no ca gage and carrots.

Food from here is always hot and delicious!! The only thing that I will point out is that the potstickers aren't that great. Service has been alright too.

I might have given this place 4 stars, as it's pretty decent for a take-out Chinese restaurant. Ordered online and delivery was quick, even after they wrote down the wrong address for the delivery guy and he had to call me. Food was a little less greasy than usual for these sorts of places: broccoli beef, veggie egg rolls, veggie fried rice, veggie chow mien, and walnut prawns. This last was bland but not bad; however, it was such a small portion that it seemed over priced. Otherwise I'd probably order again from this place.

    (3)
  • Bella B.

I order the same thing every time, whole crab, green beans in Blk bean sauce, honey walnut prawns, shrimp fried rice! Always on point.... I usually do delivery, but I did pick up today and the place is tiny, no dining area, off street parking, bullet proof window. The food is consistent except for the shrimp fried rice, sometimes prawns sometimes baby shrimp.

LAWD! This is the worst...Im talking about the WORST chinese place I've EVER been to. I ordered the Green Bean Chicken Platter Combo and MAN the Fried Rice was DRY AS HELL -- it was just LITERALLY chicken, some green onion and DARK Soy Sauce. As for the dry fried ribs...Ive had better [I recommend going to On Luck Togo on Foothill]. Im giving this place 2 stars because the plate was still VERY hot when I picked it up and the Green Bean Chicken was okay. I say give it a try because everyone's different. Thats all I got to say.

Disgusting ass Chinese food. My chicken wings were old as fuck!!! Damn near cracked a tooth on that flavorless bullshit. Never again I've tried too many times and it's plain and simple garbage.

I think this place is great! I don't particularly enjoy Chinese food. But I like their food! They always get my order correct and they usually deliver quicker than the quote time! I usually get the dried fried ribs, the general's chicken, veg spring rolls, house(combo) fried rice, and their chicken and green beans dish! I love it!

    (5)
  • Angela M.

So far I haven't ordered anything that I haven't enjoyed. Everything that they make tastes fantastic. The only downside is when you order the large order of salt and pepper prawns the box will be 1/3 full of cabbage :(

  • Sharee g.

Hella good. salt and pepper crab with shrimp fried rice! Yummmm-o! Ate on it for two whole days!! They get even more cooler points in my book cause they'll deliver to my job downtown Oakland AND he told me that if they're not busy they'll make the trek to San Leandro...now that's what's up!!! I will be back!

I stopped in for take-out last night because I didn't want to drive all the way to my old, faithful Chinese take out spot, Lucky Dragon. I remember my parents going to Jade Palace when I was a kid, so I was also looking for a bit of nostalgia. Bad decision, I should have never cheated on Lucky Dragon with Jade Palace. I ordered Salt and Pepper Ribs, steamed rice and sauteed Chinese greens. The ribs were heavily battered, didn't taste fresh and the chilis were mild, the rice was hard and the greens were smothered in this gross brown gravy and had lost its bite. This is a dish from Lucky Dragon that usually brings me joy and makes my tummy sing.

I live across the street from this place. I never ordered food from there because it's take out only. But I did go twice this past month because it's convenient. Well, the food is good but hit and miss. I ordered the fried prawns which was good. Another was the chicken broccoli which was good too. Then I ordered the beef with string beans which I found to be a bit too salty. The hot and sour soup was not that good. Kinda watery tasting. The best so far is the chicken garlic fried rice. It was flavorful and moist. I'll go there because it's close and once in awhile I like me some Chinese food and it's cheap. If you want high end Chinese food, this is not it. It is what it is...cheap but good takeout. They are fast as my order was done in less than 10mins. I've had better and worse. If I was not close to this place, I doubt I would make a trip for the food.

If you have a sudden craving for greasy chinese food then this is the spot. You can either go in and order or call for delivery. I usually like to call for delivery. It takes about 30-45 minutes depending on how many items you have. Their food is super greasy! So Beware! I have found small puddles of oil at the bottom of the container. bleh. They also use tons of soy sauce in their fried rice and chow mein. It's really dark so you can tell they use a lot. I like to get their combination chow mein. It comes with tons of meat! I also like to order their fired chicken wings. They are huge and really good. You can't really sit in the restaurant. The seats are more for people who are waiting for their orders. Also, they do except cards for delivery service.

mMMm Dirty Chinese food + delivery. The pork fried rice, crab wontons and dry fried ribs. EVERY TIME. You never go wrong with this combo. My friend used to work here so I've been eating here for like...ever. The crab wontons have gotten smaller though which makes me kinda sad... but its still muy delicioso!

The Jade Palace is a great place to go to when you're craving Chinese food. Most of the food are in big portions, even the appetizers, it will get you full, so it's best to share it with someone. The food here tastes good, but is extremely greasy and you can get sick from eating too much of it. My favorite thing here is boss fried rice, mainly because I love kimchi, and the crab fried wontons.

With so many Chinese places to chose from in Oakland, I don't think I will order from here again. Jade is sub par for a greasy Chinese fix, definitely not great. And delivery took an hour and twenty minutes. :-/ I was very disappointed with the General Tsao's chicken. Smothered in bright neon orange sweet and sour sauce and gummy, yet disguised with the name General Tsao's. Too sweet and sour. I'm not a fan of sweet and sour at all, I never ever eat it. This wasn't spicy although I requested the hottest of 3 levels. The beef and mixed vegetables was tastier, but not much better. No real vegetables, all canned. ALL BROWN. Brown brown brown. Oily. The honey walnut prawns rocked it the most, however. Very good, not gummy as they can often get in transit. Very crunchy, yet sweet, and well balanced. I recommend those above anything. Next time I will go to the grocery store and spend my $30 on fresh healthy food. This just teaches me not to be a lazy bum!

  • Chase S.

ehhh. Not so hot. Over-fried apps and chicken. Sizzling rice seafood soup was very light on the seafood. They must have been robbed several times because on a Sunday afternoon the workers were all freaked out telling me to step back while they turned my order through the bullet proof glass. If nothing else is open this will do but there are way better Chinese places in the Dimond. peace, love, and good booze ~ chase

I have been coming to Jade's Palace almost all my life. I live around the corner of them and there rice is sooooo good omg im getting hungry thinking about it! haha. Anyways, there hot and spicy chicken its DELISH!!! Try it out i recommend! I usually order a large beef fried rice with a large hot and spicy chicken to go and it feeds up to my mom, dad, brother, and boyfriend (unless were supper hungry then we order more haha). My cousin has actually recommend this to me and since then i was hooked myself! Trust a loyal customer that has hooked many to this same dish! All of my friends love this place! Were even thinking of buying the Hot and Spicy chicken for our Super Bowl food instead of wings from Wing stop.

I love the food here! I always come here when I'm in the Bay Area and I want big portions for low college student prices. Here are some of my favorites: -Salt and pepper Chicken wings: Honestly, the best fried chicken I have ever had. It's perfectly crispy and seasoned with jalapenos! -4-way fried rice chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp, what's not to like? -Shrimp with scrambled eggs the shrimps are huge, and with rice, it's a little over $5 for lunch! -Garlic Fried Crab the batter on it is delicious, and it's an affordable and yummy at the same time What I like about this place is that it's perfect for take out. I pay a little for a lot. Not just heat lamp warmed up food either. I know it's made fresh because I always adjust the food the way I like it. If I want no soy sauce, no bean sprouts, no oil? no problem. They make it JUST the way I like it!

I really enjoy this place. They make good food. My family and I always get the dry fried ribs and the combination platter of beef with broccoli. This place may look a little strange on the outside but the food is primarily good.

Never. Ever. Again. Ordered Pot Stickers and Fish with Black Bean Sauce. BOTH did not taste very good. The pot stickers were mostly dough, and the meat filling was bland, mushy, and all around unpleasant to eat. I mean...How do you fuck up on POT STICKERS!? The Fish with Black Bean Sauce had a stiff yet rubbery chewiness to it, as opposed to a tender flakiness. GROSS! I have a feeling my dish was pulled out of a freezer and microwaved before being delivered, that fish was definitely not fresh. Considering the prices, I didn't have high expectations. But Jade Palace couldn't even get the food to taste "Okay". Will not be returning.

When I started ordering, for delivery, from Jade Palace, about 3 years ago -- the food was fresh and tasty, and the MSG seemed to be absent. We loved the salt and pepper chicken wings, cream cheese crab-filled wontons, and several other dishes. But one of the last few times I ordered, the cream cheese crab wontons were totally "off" and I had to toss them. Then the last time, there was so much MSG in my food -- something I had never experienced, since I'm allergic -- and had a headache for two days, even after consuming gallons of water. I would order from them again, if I could trust them not to add MSG and specify the food must be fresh...

Ordered food, food got delivered, missing an item and this is where my story begins: I phoned back Jade Palace and informed them that I was missing an item in my order. The woman on the phone argued me down that she put it in my order. I initially thought I was missing Prawn fried rice but I was actually missing BOSS Fried rice. Mind you- when placing the order I had her report the entire order back to me and she absolutely repeated "Boss fried rice." When informed that that item was missing from my order, she then told me that she never charged me for (which she did) and that she would have them redeliver the dish to me, but I would have to pay for it. Word to the wise: Jade palace does not give you a receipt of your order, you know a document with all the items that are on there. If you are doing delivery or if you are doing pick up, make sure you have EVERYTHING because they'll charge you for it, and say they never did, and make you repay it. Additionally- the shrimp in Lobster sauce will raise your blood pressure because its so salty. I do like the crab wontons.

I work not to far from Jade Palace. When lunch time comes and I feel like Black pepper steak over rice. I'll call my order in to Jade and pick it up. Its a to-go-spot, you won't see this type of restaurant where i live in SF. its kinda weird paying and getting your food through a bullet proof window. But i guess that's oakland. Overall its a good lunch, a fair price. A regular lunch spot in Oakland when i don't feel like subway or a burrito on international.

I love Jade Palace. My grandma Mary M. has ordered from this place since the dawn of time. Over the course of my lifetime Jade Palace has delivered on nearly every occasion with timely delivery, hot food, and order correctness. I feel anger when people don't like JP. Customers need to understand that this is not a gourmet restaurant and that the food IS being cooked correctly. Especially the main dishes. Fried rice is supposed to be firm and slightly aged, not mushy. JP's rice is particularly sour due to the amount of soy sauce they use and what seems to be the acidity of green onions. The dried fried ribs are crispy due to cooked fat. These ribs are not the first dish to utilize the texture of pork fat as a main aspect, such a thing is quite common. Their sauces for their vegetable heavy dishes are basic and add authenticity to the dish. In some restaurants you order an entree and it is so devastatingly barebones you wonder why the item was on the menu. A good sauce makes the difference. Lastly, the fried chicken wings are on some godly level of perfection. I am not to hot for fried chicken but by chance my Grandma ordered some one day. The first bite was some sort of dimensional shift to pure bliss with hints of garlic and ginger. Try them, I am sure the recipe hasn't changed much.

If you want delivery, this is the spot to go, get the lunch special, their rice is pretty good, and goes well with the entree. They deliver, but can take a while. and this joint is NOT cheap, it's average priced, so are their portions

I had a hankering for coconut curry veggies one afternoon. I decided to do a search and found this place. I called in, ordered, and walked down later to pick the food up. It's a small place with one table to eat in, so it seems its mainly delivery and pickup. They have safety glass at the counter, and a little door in which they give your food. Very high security measures. I was a little uneasy, but everyone there was really friendly and efficient with their service. They were right on time, and the food was hot. I got a small, which is about 16oz. about 5 bucks. Thats quite a bit of food for a small. The veggies were crispy. They didn't get soggy in the awesome coconut curry sauce. Just the right amount of sweet and spice. It is most definitely a diamond in the rough. I've been to nicer looking places who's food doesn't compare to this place. Inexpensive+high quality food+ delivery=perfect college grub

Dry fried ribs is good, everything else is gross. One day I ordered some beef and broccoli and left the food in my car for a few minutes, came back and had this foul stanky smell, it gross me out that I did not want to take any chances, so I threw it away and never return to this restaurant again.

You know there are a fare share of negative reviews for this place, and I for one have to defend them. At first, these reviews made me a little nervous, but I had to try it out for myself. And while my food was a little greasy, I must say my good sir - and ma'am- I was happy. The taste was solid. The over the phone service was accommodating. And the delivery time was faster than what she had stated it would take, (under twenty minutes for over seven items). For the record, the crab filled won-tons -- beyond magical, it almost felt euphoric! I will order from this place again. And for some of those that were talking down to there security issues -- be easy. It is kind of the hood.

Love this place been coming here for years since i was a child im 30 sum now. .. they don't mind special Orders snd they will deliver all over Oakland even in the hood ... the egg foo yung is hit or miss but still a place to me .

cheap, and they deliver. The mushu pork was very good. The sesame chicken was crap... overbreaded, mushy, very strong lemon flavor. I think they just poured sesame seeds over their lemon chicken. In any case, avoid lemon, sesame, general tsaos chicken here... this is your average overbreaded, soggy, food court fare. Dumplings were fine. I'll order here again, since it's close and cheap and the mushu pork was legit.

What.the.hell. I had a promotion through PinchIt for $10 to get $20 worth of food from any order on the delivery website, seamless.com (think grubhub, etc). I browsed around, and after reading reviews of various restaurants that delivered to me, chose Jade Kitchen for price and mostly positive reviews on Yelp. I placed my order and got an email confirmation, and about 10 minutes later, I got a call from what must have been the owner of the restaurant - who began SCREAMING at me. She didn't understand what the promotion was about, and was refusing to deliver my order since I "hadn't paid" for it. She told me she had tried to call Seamless and they wouldn't pick up (which must be a lie, because I called them afterward and it only took one ring for someone to answer) and continued to scream at me, not letting me get a word in edgewise. I finally had to hang up because I couldn't explain to her what was going on through all the f***ing shrieking at me, and called Seamless to ask for assistance. As I mentioned, it didn't take long for them to pick up the phone and the service representative apologized profusely and said she would contact the restaurant. She did, the woman on the phone screamed at her too, and then she finally worked her down. My food was finally delivered around 20 minutes later. It's what you'd expect from your average mediocre chinese restaurant - nothing special, but not necessarily the worst chinese food out there. They didn't double-carton the containers with extra-saucy dishes in them though, so I've currently got a sauce leak all over the takeout containers. The broccoli beef is also way too salty, and the meat is cooked weirdly - too soft.

So glad there is some place that will deliver to deep east Oakland. Food is always pretty good nothing to write home about but consistently good. However recently added a $4 delivery charge which lost them one star in this review. Look I tip the driver and always order at least $20 of food so no need for the charge people -- next time no tip for the driver -- sorry go get your $4 from the management !!

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical and nervous to try this place because of all the bad reviews. However, it was our first night in a new place, no way could I cook a decent meal and no place else delivers around here. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the food good, but the service as well. Courteous, easy to understand on the phone and very fast delivery. (They told us 45 minutes and I believe it was just over 30.) Pot stickers, Mild Sesame Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, and White Rice -- all very tasty. None of it was overly greasy, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers got. Unlike other Chinese places, when I ordered mild, they made it mild, not bland! The only negative was that the chicken was a little on the dry side.

This place is a dump. I had high hopes for the dry fried ribs, which others have given good reviews, but I was very disappointed. Basically they're just fried fat, bone and gristle, with little or no meat. The prawn fried rice was nothing special. I'd never go here again; there's too much excellent Chinese and other Asian food in Oakland.

Dried Fried Ribs are off the hook! I've traveled from San Jose just to have them for lunch!

Not so much into their fried rice... But, my, friend, Candice introduced me to the best snack ever... Dried fried ribs... Their portions for appetizers are great. A bit pricy. But, I guess you are paying for the goodness and the portion...

I love this place. I love their vegetable fried rice with broccoli...Mmmm good. I always have them add chicken in mine because thats all its missing. They have these sweet n sour princess cut ribs that are to die for. It seems to always be crowded when I go so Im always sure to call my order in ahead of time. Once I wanted some chinese food and called to place my order only to find out they were on vacation for a MONTH!!! I didnt know what to do...Lol

Jade palace is consistently above average. The work force is pleasant enough and the entire operation is pretty efficient; time from ordering to getting the food was more prompt than I'd expected. When that usually occurs, I'm immediately suspicious of the quality of the food. However, the food is pretty yummy, and if they are hiding MSG in it, I didn't readily notice like I do at many other chinese restaurants. I would suggest this place over many other restaurants claiming to make quality chinese cuisine.

Intrigued by Heidi's proposal of Jade Kitchen's Garlic Crab, I ordered some a few months back, and neglected to post about it. Eager to see what was so bitchin' about Jade Kitchen, I eagerly awaited my slightly open container to find a whole Dungeness, fried for my eating pleasure. What I learned from that experience, is that Garlic Crab is not, and will not ever be dorm food. The crab was delicious, but also quite messy, and needs to be taken out of the container completely to be enjoyed. Also, not having a shell cracker sucked like nobody's business. Now, with that review, you may be wondering, "So, why the two stars, you sexy, sexy Black man?" and with that, I am provided a convenient segue into my follow-up experience. On a rainy day last week, I decided to call up Jade Kitchen for some delivery, as they were the only place open at the time. Order placed for an Orange Chicken combo plate, and some Crab Cheese Wontons, with an ETA of 45 minutes. An hour passes, and I wonder why my food is 15 minutes late, only to get a call from the delivery driver telling me to head downstairs. I tell him to wait for me, and I head down stairs from my fifth floor, to the fourth floor where he was supposed to be. Wouldn't you know it, the guy bailed with my food, and when I call him, he nearly berates me for "Taking to long to come", and tells me that he's busy and on his way back to the restaurant. As an afterthought, he asks me if I want my food, and I exclaim of course, though my wontons are surely soggy by now thanks to the accumulated steam. He tells me he'll be back in five. Not five, but twenty minutes later, this bastard-coated bastard returns with my food, and my credit card receipt. Though pissed, I am also hungry, so I pay the man for my food. While I'm reaching into my pocket for the fiver I'm going to tip this ass with, he hands me the receipt back with the word "Tip" circled in blue ink! Oh, you're getting a one-dollar bill, you jerk. All this was for some slightly overcooked wontons, barely above-average BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and less-than-Panda-Express-quality Orange Chicken? Oh, believe me, the Garlic Crab is the only thing saving this place from One Star City.

I've gotten deliveries from these guys several times over the last 2 years out of sheer laziness. Too tired after a long day to cook or drive somewhere to get decent food. This is the greasiest Chinese food ever...EVER. My last experience with Jade Palace was horrible. I threw everything out after a couple bites of the their Salt & Pepper Oysters. The rice smelled really, really strange as well. The only reason the get 2 stars is because the delivery guys never fail me. Unfortunately, the food does. It's best I get off my ass and drive to Happy Garden Restaurant, a five minute drive away, for better Chinese cuisine.

Okay I gave this place 2 stars because no place deserves a one unless you see rodents or bugs. Other than that I was not impressed. They say demographics play a lot on what eating establishments open up in any given neighborhood. Well I guess this place felt like they could fake authentic Chinese food and people in the hood would not know it. WRONG. My head still hurts from the MSG. I've been in Chinese restaurants all over the world and I would not consider this Chinese cuisine. Go the extra mile to Chinatown. They are rude as hell to non-asians but the food is authentic and tastes a hell of a lot better.

Not very good. We have a regular place we order from (3.5 stars) and were looking for something better. Jade Palace isn't it. Yeah, they're open 'til 11 on a Friday, so it might be worth it if nothing else is open, but otherwise we're going to have to stick with Chopsticks until we find something great. When I called, they were out of chow fun noodles and offered shanghai fried noodles instead. How can something be super-greasy and flavorless at the same time? The chicken was dry (probably could have used some of that noodle oil) and the whole dish was limp and bland. The Princess Spare Ribs were kinda gross. It looked so much like sweet & sour pork I thought they had our order wrong. It's partly my fault for thinking that because the menu didn't say "fried pork bone shards with sweet & sour sauce" they might be good. There's a little hot pepper next to this item on the menu, so I also assumed it would be spicy. No luck. Most places that serve short ribs, or country-style ribs indicate that's what they're serving. Short ribs are elsewhere on the menu, so I assumed these spare ribs were actual spare ribs (paigu). The meat was fatty and had tiny little shards of bone along with the bigger chunks of bone you would expect to find in country style ribs. Not safe to eat, and not delicious. The also didn't give us the drinks we ordered, and when I called back they said they'd give us a credit. I asked for a refund instead, or preferably for the delivery driver could stop by on his next run and they refused. There won't be another order, so I guess they can keep my drink money. Trying to down this meal without a refreshing Coke was pretty unpleasant. Grr. This place reminds me of Chinese food from the 80s. If you're nostalgic and not all that interested in flavor or good customer service, this is the place for you.

We called for delivery @ 9:06 pm. The lady who took our order says it will take 45 minutes. Called them @ 9:55 pm to ask if the delivery person is close or on his way. I got voice mail. Called a few more times, again, got voice mail, you cant even leave a message. It is now 10:06 pm and still no food, no call and no delivery person.

Ok I visited here 1 week ago at about 2pm. It's been 3 years since I visited and Wow things change. I guess they been robbed because it feels like your at a check cashing joint now. The security glass and place had a jail like look to it. As for the food I came here remembering how good the Salt and pepper chicken wings were. When i got my mongolian beef over fried rice and Salt and pepper chicken wings here is what I saw and throught of the food, and no it isn't good. Mongolian beef over fried rice, The fried rice was so dark from the flooding amount of soy sauce on it and was over salted. The gravy from the mongolian beef was overwhelming and covered all of the rice which was also salty. Then... The salt and pepper chicken wings!!! OMG when i grasped onto one of them things and took a bite SALTY!! over salted and upon closer inspection I could see tons of MSG on them!! Shoot again too SALTY!! The food sucked and I felt like 10 gallons of water couldn't wash away the salty feeling I had in my body! I will visit the place for the garlic pepper crab and see if they don't over salt that one,

Ok.... if I had to pick that one last meal on earth.... and I could take it to go I would have the garlic crab from Jade Palace. Friendly service. Get's hecka busy around 6 pm so order before you go in to pick up the food. There are only 2 tables and a counter to sit.... but it doesn't matter. They take a whole dungenous crab and crack it / disassemble the parts. Then they dip it in tempura batter and deep fry it. Then they toss it into a wok with fresh garlic and jalepeno rings... OMG it is heaven! Keep the container open so the crab crust stays crispy and doesn't get soggy by the steam. I moved to Antioch but still work within 5 miles of this place and I love to get the food delivered to my job (if I can't pick it up). If you become a regular and tip the gal at the counter you will get the biggest and best crabs EVERYTIME! (unless we are there first!) You've got to try this stuff. My cat will even eat the crab (hot spicy and full of garlic). Now whenever I cook garlic and seafood in the kitchen she begs for some (thinking it's from Jade palace, I'm sure!)

Worst experience to date with this place.... I normally order for me and my co workers and then pick it up and never had a problem. This go around we decided to have it delivered. The driver calls me and says he is outside on the opposite side of my job. I told him 2 times to come inside and deliver it. Its been done before. He was still in the parking lot 20 mins later when one of my co workers called. Not only did he make no effort to come inside like he is suppose to only 5 of the 6 orders were delivered. And my co worker walked out to get it!!! They have now lost 6 customers.

This is the best Chinese take-out in the Bay Area. The prices are more than reasonable and the food is tasty. I have tasted their menu extensively and have only had one bad experience - the egg foo young - dont order it. Everything else is delish. The delivery service is fast and the staff are very friendly.

Their orange chicken is the best thing on the menu... everything else is okay... they are right down the street from me so its real convenient just to walk there. The bullet proof glass window is a little weird though but ah well, this is Oakland I guess!

Yum! We ordered food and had it delivered last night based on the yelp reviews. The crab was the star of the show and the two other standard items that we got (noodles and beef with Chinese greens) were pretty good as well. Best of all, they delivered in what had to be less than 20 minutes. Good to know there's good chinese food in the Laurel!

this is my favorite place in oakland to get dim sum! they have a fairly large assortment of nosh...the egg custard for dessert is the best! great brunch for great prices! sure, you can always get better dim sum in SF, but if you dont feel like fighting traffic then this would be your best bet as far as local dim sum goes!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
