Amazingggg!! I've tried so many crab houses and, nothing of course adds up to Boiling crab but, this is as close as it gets!! Owner is super friendly as well.. MUST TRY!!!

First time here and the whole family loved it! Here's what we ordered: *Shrimp w/ (mild) original Cajun sauce: Love the sauce! Perfect on top of white rice. Thick, slightly spicy for mild but it was just right for me. Large sized shrimp, bigger than I've seen in other (similar) restaurants. *Oysters: tasted fresh enough. Be careful when asking for Tabasco cuz they only have the habanero flavor! *garlic noodles: Not as bad as the other reviewers said it is. Good amount of garlic, although it tasted slightly sweet...weird...but I still liked it. For $4.99 you only get a small styrofoam bowl full. (Minus points for using styrofoam) *Alaskan king crab legs (Cajun sauce, mild): good amount of crab meat in each leg *salt n pepper shrimp/Cajun fries basket: Both items were perfectly seasoned, not too thick batter on the shrimp, not too greasy. Service was great, although we had to remind our server a few times about extra bibs, water/soda refills (free refills!) forks, etc. Understandable for serving a large party (of 16) Plus points for giving us a separate table to put a birthday cake on, and extra plates/forks. We will definitely be back soon!

I continue to come back for the food and the service. Haven't had anything I did not truly loved.

I picked up a to go order. The man on the phone was friendly and even friendlier when I came to pick up the food :) Around 9:30 on a Sunday night and the place was completely empty, which made for a quick food pick up. Much better than waiting hours in line at boiling crab. I ordered 1 lb of shrimp lintogether spicy ($11.99) a dollar more than the price on their printed menu, but still not a horrible price. The shrimp were DELICIOUS ! Amazing flavor perfect amount of spice and the sauce was not too thin to where it doesn't stick to the shrimp. In my opinion much better than boiling crab. Although i felt the 1lb of shrimp was a little sparse to what I am used to but when I was done eating I was full. The cajun fries were HORRIBLE. Maybe it was because I came at the end of the day but they were thick and the cajun spice was not evenly distributed...very disappointing. I will NEVER waste my money on them again. Next time I will try the garlic noodles or just get rice.

Baby Lobster is the place for you if you loooove seafood and Cajun food. Decent prices, and good flavors of Cajun. My favorite from them is definitely the crab cake sandwich! All crab meat patty and refreshing lettuce and tomato to freshen up your palette from the Cajun fries. But the close seconds are easily the fried rice, and the chicken wings! Especially the wings; crunchy and spicy on the outside and juicy on the inside! Yum!

Nice new place. Portions are really big. The old man owner is very sweet. We will be back again :)

My boyfriend was craving garlic noodles and we saw the highlights here. Should've listen to the most recent post: it was honestly TERRIBLE. It was made with spaghetti instead of fresh noodles and there were barely any garlic on there. Our sausage was made with half hot dogs and half hot link. The fish and chip was okay: The cajin fries tasted kind of weird but the fish was decent. Oh! And the soda is flat. That is very annoying.

This place is really good. It wasn't packed when we came on a Thursday night. We asked for the "Lintogether" sauce to be mild and it was still a little spicy but was still super good. It's way better than the sauce from Ray's crab shack because it isn't super oily that you feel the need to do some hot yoga to sweat off all those oil from the butter. The shrimps are huge too. AND the garlic noodles are super good! Overall I'd love to go to this place again!

  • Howard T.

$8.99 for the fried catfish and Cajun fries are great. Unique I never had a crunchy texture like this little oil and seasoned just right for a great deal so much food

Not sure why people gave 1 star on this one. Went this place with my wife and kid on Sunday lunch. Ordered garlic noodle, jambalaya, crawfish, and shrimp. Food are all good and the service is really nice. The sauce is really good for my taste. Seafood is really fresh too. Place is clean. Not super cheap but fair price.

Came here for a tasting. Food was good. Started off with a crab salad with house dressing. Not fancy but dressing was very good. Lots of crab. Along with the salad, they gave me the gumbo. It was very hearty. Lots of pieces of homemade sausage and shrimp. Because it was a tasting for family, they did not put any spice in the gumbo. I thought it could have used that heat. They then brought out some garlic noodles and it was ok. The chef said the whole kitchen was not running yet so the next time the garlic noodles will be delicious. I have high hopes. She finally brought out more homemade sausage, corn and potato in their sauce for the seafood and it was delicious. I was very impressed with their sauce. It was saucy and not chunky. Great kick to it as well. Thank you Russell for inviting me to come and taste the food. It is off to a good start. I am sure everything will be hammered out by grand opening on Thursday.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! One word. Fucken amazing!!! (Well maybe two words) haha. first time here and it was delicious. I've never been to such a good seafood place. I live in Southern California which as Boiling Crab and this is nothing compared to Baby Lobster. I brought home leftovers and ate them the next morning and it was still great! I truly recommend this to everyone who enjoys sea food. This is truly a SEEfood diet. Get it? When you SEE food you got to eat it?! No? Then you suck. But seriously y'all. Come here. Compliments to the chef. Please open another joint in So.Cal please.

I liked this place and will give it another shot some time. It didn't blow me away. The cajun shrimp was okay, ditto for the garlic noodles. The service was great. I want to go back and try some of the other spices. I like to eat with my hands at these type of places, I think it's part of the charm but Baby Lobster didn't/doesn't have wet naps. They didn't even know what they are, so I had to awkwardly walk to the bathroom to wash my hands afterward.

we came here to celebrate my sister getting a new job. Was out here with my family and friends. Customer service was great!!! the server was nice, he kept checking up on us to make sure everything was ok. Parking space was wonderful as well. Lots of parking space and a good fitting for a large party. Now the reason why this place didn't get 5 stars. Food was fairly above average but we wanted to order lots of things but they didnt have it available to us. No lobster, calamari, crab or king crab legs. But all n all good experience. He made up for it by serving us the food quick and it was tasty.

  • Cassandra G.

I'm giving them 4 stars for a few reasons: service was great, price was perfect it wasn't overly expensive, the sauce was really good and the crawfish I got were really big, the restaurant was clean. There is one thing that kind of threw me off, seemed to me that the crawfish wasn't the freshest I mean there was only about 5 pieces that seem to not be fresh but that can happen anywhere. Anyways overall I had a good experience very friendly owners. Can't wait to try their lunch special.

  • Lynn S.

Plastic silverware and paper cups highlight this odd place. Cajun rice bowl very grainy from poorly mixed spices dumped on top. Loud rappish mysic behind me, offset by loud TV talking head. Ohh... they just made the TV louder! Nobody else here and I see why.

  • Darren H.

Best sauce hands down in the entire bay area. Better than Kickin' crab, Crawfish lovers, etc in San Jose.

  • Jenn L.

Really like the crab & garlic noodles here. A bit spicy (lintogether sauce even the mild) but the flavor is so good it's worth it. The man who I believe must be the owner is always so nice. Last night he even put gloves on & showed us how to open the crab body (my hubby usually handles this part but wasn't with us this time). Will definitely keep coming back as the food & service is really great!

  • Kyle Z.

This review is only for their lunch specials. Tried two of their lunch specials: Gumbo noodle soup $5.99 and Jambalaya $8.99. Both tasted pretty good and the portion size was not bad for what I paid. Will return to try out other lunch items.

  • Josette R.

Came here with my sole sista Jenn who is a huge fan of this place & was not disappointed. Great friendly service. Garlic noodles were very garlicky just the way I love it. Crawfish was fresh & not mushy like other places but the lintogether sauce really sealed the deal for me. It was flavorful & has the right amount of heat. Also, I don't feel like I'm swimming in grease either. Being right down the street from home was a bonus for me! If you love Cajun flavor, crab, shrimp or crawfish definitely give Baby Lobster a try & spread the word. Help support this mom/pop joint & little local gem!

  • Kathy J.

I really wanted to like this place. We came for the sole purpose of trying to support this new, local mom and pop because everytime we drive by its empty inside. We came almost 1:00 on Sunday to an empty restaurant. The owner and I assume his wife were the only 2 employees there. He was extremely friendly and very accomodating. Because we were the only customers, the service was excellent. Breaks my heart to not give them 5 stars. We started our meal with dozen oysters. They were very fresh and tasty. My only complaint was that they did not have cocktail sauce. They did have a homemade tabasco type sauce which was okay, but not the same as cocktail sauce. Just personal preference. We also ordered the garlic noodles and they were tasty. For our boiled seafood we ordered shrimp, clams, sausage and corn in the house special Lintogether Sauce. It was suppose to be mild but it was so spicy, my daughter and I struggled to eat it. My mouth was on fire for a long time afterwards. Like I said, maybe we ordered wrong and its personal preference...but I did not care for the house special Lintogether Sauce. If I can convince the family to give Baby Lobster another shot, I wouId definately order differently. Hopefully they have enough loyal customers to stay the course.

This place is really good! We literally just finished eating here and I felt like I should write a review! We had the Cajun fries and sweet potato fries and it was crunchy and tasted good! My husband finished eating the whole basket! We also had the shrimp which was pretty good too! The garlic noodles was delicious.. My toddler couldn't stop eating it. I don't like comparing these places because I think all Cajun seafood joints are all different in their own way! Customer service was great! Our waiter kept refilling our drinks! The only thing that sucks is the location! It's right in the corner of the Safeway plaza so it's easy to miss!

  • John T.

The food was good but they serve food in plastic bag and styrofoam bowls. I feel like I went to a run down restaurant in the hood but then the prices were pretty high. Expensive. The food was good though so that saved it from being a 1 star.

  • Rich K.

The WORST "Cajun" food I've ever eaten. This is not even close to Cajun food. As another reviewed said, I wanted to like this place, but when you see something resembling and tasting like MSG all over the french fries (and your family is allergic) it's a bad thing. We walked in; the place was completely empty at 6pm on a Friday; my eight year old observed this is probably not a good thing. We were met by a guy who took our order. He was not rude or obnoxious, but when asked for his opinion on what to order, he was no help. When an employee can't recommend a dish or share their favorite (and they look like an owner), that should be a red flag. We ordered a variety to get a feel of what might be good and worth reordering, including some spicy noodles, some gumbo, some chicken wings and the fries. The guy who took our order advised we come back in 20 minutes to pick it up. We were parked outside, so we retreated to the car and passed the time playing with smart phones. Went back in about 25 minutes later; I must note: NO ONE went into the restaurant the entire time we waited, no one. I started feeling like: what does everyone else around here know that we don't--we would discover soon enough. Food was packed well and ready to go. We took it home, opened it up and it looked more like food from Asia Express than from Nawlins. The thing is, if it was prepared well, and WAS Chinese food, we would have enjoyed it. We would have noted the food was good; it was just not what was advertised. Unfortunately for my hungry family that was not the case. Every item seemed to have something in it like MSG and it made each of us ill, and we didn't eat very much. Again, I had high hopes for this place and no one really likes writing a poor review, but wanted to warn people: do not waste your money here, as we did. I don't know about the positive reviews we read previous to trying this place, but some of them seem to be a little suspect. Even when we go shopping at Safeway, which shares the same parking lot, we do not see people patronizing this place. Hopefully something changes and this place will become a great place to go. One can always hope.

This is by far, one of the best restaurants for this type of food category. The sauce is the boss!!! It's tucked away in a little corner and if your not looking, you'd probably miss it. It's located at the old taco bell, close by the Newark Safeway. We ordered 2 lbs of shrimp, garlic butter with no spice and the one with all the sauces mixed together, with spice. We also ordered chicken wings and sweet potatoe fries. All came out yummy!!! Because the business just opened, it was pretty slow but service sure wasn't. One thing they do need are more appetizer choices. Maybe even some choices for non-seafood eaters like my husband who had to eat chicken wings while we enjoy our shrimp. Overall, very good food, great service, and I would recommend this to everyone. Ray's crab and backyard bayou... watch out!!!

Was in the area with my friends. Saw that they had a crawfish place. So we had to stop by and check them out. Staff were really friendly when we got there. Took our order and serve us our drinks fast. We got a couple pounds of shrimp and crawfish in there Lintogether sauce. Wow the sauce was bomb dot com. Shrimp and crawfish were delicious, juicy and sweet!. I would come here again the next time im in town. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family.

My daughter and I went to Baby Lobster for the first time a couple of days ago. We ordered the Gumbo bowl and Fried Catfish with Cajun Fries. It was awesome!!! We will definitely go back again. The owner was very friendly also. Thanks Baby Lobster!

My 3rd time here was really disappointing. The crawfish was salty and chewy. We believe these were frozen so i ask the waitress. When i asked if these were frozen she told me no. I told her i been here 3 times, I'm a big crawfish eater so i know how a frozen crawfish tasted like. Waitress told me that its Sunday so they cooked it at 10 am and recook when we order. I was like WTF. i really like this place but not sure if will be coming back.

Just like The Boiling Crab in San Jose but without the crowd and wait. The shrimp with the rajun Cajun is spectacular. They have other things on the menu but the shrimp is their best offering IMHO.

  • G N.

Foods are tasty BUT both Crawfish and shrimps are NOT fresh. They charge $11.99 "Market Price" for frozen crawfish & $10.99 for frozen shrimps is outrageous. Not to mention that those crawfish are very small too. Frozen crawfish bought from supermarket are even better than theirs. Not planning to return.

Don't waste your time on your money! This place is over priced and the food isn't that good. This is suppose to be a Louisiana style kitchen, but it's run by a bunch a Chinese that probably;y watched a couple you tube videos and thought they knew what they're doing. I've been to REAL Creole kitchens (try Creola in San Carlos) and this place is garbage. No real, self-respecting Creole kitchen has garlic noodles, pot stickers, or fried rice on the menu. The other reviewers that give this place 3, 4, or 5 stars have NO IDEA what REAL CAJUN food is all about. SMH...

Had lunch here with co-workers and it was delicious. Had the Crab Sandwich with Cajun fries. Crab actually tasted sweet and fresh. I also tried the jambalaya my boss ordered. Even more delicious. We also had cajun wings and house soup which everyone loved. The place was pretty empty. I will come again, only giving 3 stars because of the atmosphere and for some weird reason, they don't open until noon. Also, one of our group went back again and had the crab sandwich and said it wasn't as good as the first time.

Been here twice already and ordered my food to-go. Found the shrimp with garlic butter delicious. Garlic noodles was good but wished there was more garlic. The employees were nice and made me feel welcome. This is my spot for seafood now.

Comparable to BC and Ray's, but their version of garlic noodles is the winner, hands down! Glad to have them in the neighborhood. The owner is really nice too. I hope this place attracts more customers. I know I'm coming back.

  • Ang G.

Pass! The shrimp was obviously frozen, sauce unimpressive. The manager was not only rude but strangely kept lingering next to our table! Lastly, they refuse to cut the heads off the little bottom feeders ... And on that note alone No thanks!

I've been to Baby Lobster a handful of times and I must say that it is the perfect place to come to for Cajun seafood. I recommend the Shrimp, Crawfish, and Crab, all of which have tasted fresh every time I've gone. My favorite sauce is the Lintogether, add some sausages and corn and it's perfect. The service here is wonderful, and the owner is friendly and welcoming. The first time I came, he recommended me the shrimp and it was delicious. One of my favorite foods is also the Jambalaya, which comes on a bed of rice and is very filling. The owner is also very attentive and funny, he kept on refilling my drink! Lastly, the atmosphere of the place is great. It's not crowded, and the owner seats you in front of the TV and lets you watch whatever. It's amazing that there is no wait at this place, because everything about this place is great! i'm hoping business picks up for them soon, even though this place is kinda my favorite low-key restaurant. I definitely recommend you swing by and try it with your family!

Went there yesterday and had the crab with the house sauce also tried the jambalaya. The jambalaya was good but the crab does not compare to the Backyard Bayou in Union City, They seem to have a decent lunch special and I'll be back to try that ...

  • M N.

Good solid Cajun food. Garlic noodle is delish. Pricing is comparable to other places but the menu has more selection. I like the fried jumbo shrimp, catfish, Cajun hot wings, n salt pepper squid. Quiet atmosphere with two tvs for watching the game. Great for date night or families.

  • Jazz T.

Garlic noodles and the Cajun fried rice was good! Fried rice had the perfect amount of heat. Good amounts of shrimp and sausage in the rice too. I gotta come back when i'm in the area again to try their other items.

First, I must say that we are avid Boiling Crab fans. However, we were excited just the same to try the newly opened Baby Lobster when we were visiting the area. WE LOVED IT! We ordered shrimp and liked how tender they were. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and blended. "Medium" was a bit spicy for my taste, so next time we'll order 'mild'. I really liked how the Garlic noodles went perfectly with the shrimp. We'll be back soon!

  • Prism T.

I wish I could have given this place a good review but I came here once and that was enough. The service was actually pretty cool, but the crawfish and shrimp just wasn't very good at all. There are much better alternatives like Kickin Crab, Crawdaddy, or even Boiling Crab. Also, I think the sausages they use are like something close to brats. Not my thing for sure but I don't remember if they offered hotlinks or smoked sausage. Too bad they don't offer higher quality sausages (but that's something that crawfish places in general don't offer).

  • Cathy M.

Went there for lunch and had a good time. Food was good, service was good. We order ed the cajun crawfish and cajun shrimp both really good. It's a fun restaurant, but be prepared to get messy! The entry is a little confusing. Don't go to the double doors. The entry is on the side to the left. Enjoy!

Housed in a former Taco Bell in same shopping center w/ Safeway, this small seafood-&-sausage + corn on cob in a bag restaurant is the 2nd such effort by friendly owner. The shrimp & lobster tail were delicious, as were the chunks of pork/beef sausage. Both soups (lobster cream & gumbo w/ rice) had good flavor w/ a spicy kick. The corn is soggy & overcooked (but flavorful) which is to be expected, given fact that it's soaking in very hot liquid. A plastic bib & thin gloves are provided, the latter to protect hands while dipping into bag for tasty nuggets. I recommend taking your own kitchen tongs for more efficient retrieval! The bill can add up quickly so be watchful. It's guaranteed leisurely entertainment as all at table dip & eat. Don't be in a hurry because liquid in the bag arrives HOT! Think fondue style meal.

  • Angelique M.

I really like this place and can't wait to eat here again. This area finally got a "boiling crab" style restaurant. They have a unique flavor to their sauce that is quite tasty. The prices for the seafood is reasonable. They were not very crowded, although I came here a couple weeks after they opened. I hope that they have picked up business since then. The only complaint I have is the awkwardness of the front door. It is NOT the door that faces the parking lot but off to the side.

I really wanted to like this place. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch one day after seeing this place the week before while we were in the area. We've tried a bunch of different Asian/Cajun fusion places around where we live so usually know what to expect, and since this place had a lunch menu, we didn't think we'd be in for much of a shock, but we couldn't be more wrong. He had the Cajun bowl and I had the lobster sauce bowl, both over rice. Cajun Bowl: The base was what seemed to be mushy rice that had been cooked with too much water covered in left over Lin-Together sauce with what looked like a seafood variety that you can find at Costco. Shrimp that was in the sauce was obviously different than shrimp that they serve by the pound and not fresh since they had no heads or shells. "Lobster" Sauce Bowl: I put the word lobster in quotes because I saw none in this dish whatsoever. What I basically got was the same mushy rice in my boyfriend's dish, with shrimp egg drop soup sloshed over it. I know that lunch menus are usually a quicker no-frills version of the usual menu items, but seriously? There was nothing Cajun about this dish. So as I said before, I really wanted to like this place, we both did. But we were sorely disappointed. I give this place 2 stars for kind-of good service. Our waiter was pleasant and was always checking up on us, however did get our drink refills wrong (which I thought was a pretty silly mistake to make since there was only one other table at the time). After another look at him, my boyfriend pointed out that he was obviously inebriated. But that's another story.

My friends have been telling me about this place for quite some time now, and the bf made a snap decision to just get dinner there last night. Here's my experience.... Restaurant was empty when we came in, then again it was a Sunday night. It's a small place, used to be a Taco Bell back in the day and now it's a clean little restaurant. There's lots of writing on the walls from patrons which was cute... Gave it a very local flavor. The menu is simple, a few choices of Cajun items here and there but the focus on the menu is clearly their steamed shellfish. I was a bit hesitant to order at first because I've been to places like this and it can get really spicy.. The bf doesn't really like anything too spicy so we opted for mild options. Or so we thought we did! We ended up ordering garlic noodles, jambalaya, Cajun wings and a pound of shrimp with the combo seasoning in mild. Garlic noodles came out first. Super garlicky with a hint of sweet... super yummy! Best part of our meal hands down. The jambalaya came out shortly after, it looked amazing! But... How did it taste? First bite was like BOOM! Jambalaya explosion in my mouth but then came the heat. Hit me right in the back of the throat, and triggered the coughing. That heat that would not leave my mouth for the entire night... The kind of heat that felt like it burned some skin off of my lips and tongue. OMG too hot! I am one for spicy food... I love it. I pop jalapeños in my mouth because they're so delicious. But this on the other hand was completely ridiculous. I mean, so hot to the point of uncontrollable sweating and having mocos drip out of my nose. No one wants to eat like that!!!! Spicy is an understatement! The jambalaya should come with a warning. Seriously, it was so hot that it was not enjoyable and was basically a waste of a meal. Too bad. The shrimp came out next... Bf was a little off put by them because the heads were on the shrimp but that's how they come at these places. I don't mind, I'll suck the shrimp heads with the quickness, that's where the flavor is! Shrimp were ok... Overcooked and not very strong in flavor but again pretty spicy. The wings came out last. They weren't no wing stop or bww wings, but they were good. Sweet and cajuny is how I can describe them. Not too bad. The service was good, there was a friendly little old man was taking care of our table and he made sure our cups were never empty, which was awesome. It took five ever for us to get our check though. Just a thought... They should offer some type of drink like Thai iced tea or something cool and creamy to calm the heat down of their food. It was super intense and unenjoyable heat. Oh well... Will I come back? By the way my tummy is feeling this morning, I don't think so. More for you guys... It's just not for me I guess.

My mom randomly had a menu of baby lobster, and it caught my eye because I saw garlic noodles on the menu, and ya know.. I just love garlic noodles. Then, I saw that the menu was just like all those other cajun-y places so I HAD to try it! Verdict: 5 stars. I ordered shrimp, corn, garlic noodles, and cajun fries, and everything was delicious. Their sauce was flavorful & super spicy for me! It was perfect. The owner was nice, and the service was quick too.

My sisters and I had a boiling crab craving, but didn't want to drive to San Jose or wait for a table. So we found Baby Lobster on Yelp! Right when we walked in the owner was very friendly and even turned the TV on for us and made sure we had a good view. We ordered garlic noodles, cajun fries, and 1.5 lbs of shrimp! A plus for me is you're allowed to order by the 1/2 pound - a lot of the other Boiling Crab type of restaurants make you order a full pound. Everything tasted great! After reading a few of the other reviews, I was expecting the garlic noodles to not taste that great, but it tasted good to me. Of course it isn't comparable to Thanh Long or Perilla, but what was really great is I tasted a lot of Fresh garlic and not just a bunch of butter and parmesan cheese. The shrimp also tasted FRESH - right when I took my first bite I could hear the crunch! Also, I highly recommend the Lintogether sauce! The sauce was amazing! Also, you can tell the shrimp was well marinated into the sauce and not just dipped in. Extra plus, for the great service! The owner was really great about refilling our water and soda multiple times! This will be my new go to place in the area! Way better than Ray's Crab Shack!

Giving this place 3.5 stars after coming back for the second time. A hint better in comparison to their grand opening week. We wanted shrimp but didn't want to go anywhere so we called in our order since its just down the street from our house. Told us 20 minutes and the food would be ready. Walked in and the place was pretty busy, a little more character added and starting to look like a real business now. The owner or manager look flustered, pink in the face, border line sweating, forgot to give us bibs, limes, salt/pepper. Pretty much had to ask for everything including wax paper to make the clean up at home easier. Handed it to us and he walked away... maybe understaffed for a Friday night? We were surprised to find a small piece of corn and one red potato in our bags of shrimp. The sauce was also better this time... thicker, more flavorful, less sweet. The shrimp on the other hand weren't as fresh as our first visit. You could tell they were previously frozen since some were hard to peel and soft/limp. Also got to try their garlic noodles. The order seemed a little small, but it was good. Not too salty, good consistency and amount of garlic. If the Lintogether sauce stays consistent with what they served us, then I'm sure we'll be back again.

Always love Cajun cuisine. A new place for me to try, can't be better. The place is neat and owner is very very friendly and attentive. He also makes great recommendations if you are not too familiar with their style. Ordered garlic noodles, Sweet potato fries, dungeness crab in House Special Sauce (Lintogether). Just the right amount of spiciness to me. Some might find a bit too spicy though. Garlic noodle is very rich in flavor Fries is crunchy and crispy/ Love everything. Will definitely come back., cant wait to try lobsters too. The owner also told me the lunch special they have going now. I will try to visit their lunch menu some time soon for the sake of better deal~

Came here for the first time tonight to check it out - the man who greeted us was super nice and friendly. He even turned the TV on and asked what we wanted to watch! We ordered a pound of shrimp (lintogether), corn, sausage, a side of Cajun fries, and garlic noodles. The garlic noodles were amazing! Definitely my favorite part of the meal. The sausage was standard - felt like it was something you could buy across the street at Safeway, and the Cajun fries were not cooked all the way. The shrimp was bigger than the shrimp that is offered at Boiling Crab - so that's a plus. But it's more expensive per pound (a pound of shrimp here is $12.99). The server kept coming back and made sure our drinks were always filled - he was extremely nice. All in all, not bad - will definitely be returning for more garlic noodles!

Don't be put off by not being greeted when you walk in ... Good food, good service! I'll bring my family back. You'll love their fries--sweet potato ones are a must-try!

Came back to Norcal again briefly to go visit some of my mom's family and we came to eat at Baby Lobster again. Things are still as tasty and great as I had remembered from my previous NorCal trip. The Lintogether Sauce for the crawfish ($11.99/lb) was soooo good. The crawfish were pretty meaty, and had the briny salt water taste as you expect, and it balanced perfectly in harmony with the sweet and savory Lintogether sauce. It tasted as good as some crawfish I had in Newport Beach a few years ago. Super fresh and the heads are always the best parts! The Catfish Basket with Chips ($8.99) is are always going to be my favorite here though. The fried catfish is perfect; fluffy and moist on the inside, but the perfect crunch on the outside with impeccable seasoning. I'll go out of my way, and skip out on Boiling Crabs with this place because of how fresh it is. At BC, I can easily tell that the catfish has been cooked, and previously frozen already. But at this place, it doesn't taste frozen at all. If you're lucky enough to come here before 4PM during their lunch special hours, it comes with fried rice too! Who does that? Most places charge about $10 for a catfish basket with fries alone, so I think the deal here is pretty good. There are also other specialities on the menu that you don't find at typical cajun broil joints, like the famous Garlic Noodles everyone raves about. My aunt has been here, and she says that their fried rice is pretty good, so maybe I'll try that the next time I'm up here. The Jambalaya looks good too. I've only tried Jambalaya at Cheesecake Factory, so hopefully this place is better and more authentic. The first time I came here, my boyfriend and I talked to the manager a bit, and found out that he actually opened a cajun broil place down in SoCal before, too! In San Gabriel Valley, where I am originally from. I don't quite remember the name, but if he opened up two joints, it says something - quality food. As always, service is always very friendly here, and never had any bad experiences. Everyone that we've encountered here seems genuinely happy to be there, and always makes sure our drinks are refilled. Sometimes we will even just stop by just to order some chicken wings, and take it to-go so I can enjoy it, alone, without anyone watching haha. So I guess if you're in the area, this place is worth a visit. We always stay in Hayward when we come up to NorCal, so we are lucky enough to have Newark nearby so we can visit Baby Lobster whenever we are up here. Will definitely be back. And again, wahoooo free wifi! :)

Went there to try this new place --- the original plan was to just have a simple dinner, but ended up having a feast. Garlic noodles, cajun fries, shrimp, crab everything was just amazing. Will have to go there again soon ---

Wish I could say I liked this place, but To be honest, I can't. I came in for the lunch special with my friends. We ordered the Cajun bowls and the lobster and shrimp bowls. All of them came out with mushy rice (stuck together in clumps). It seemed like we were eating chunky mushy porridge.. Cajun Bowl had too much sauce on top of the mushy rice. Lobster and shrimp bowl came out and looked like a Chinese restaurant plate.. Far from what we expected. This is far from Cajun cuisine, it's more similar to Chinese cuisine. I advise others to choose another Cajun restaurant rather than this one to experience the real Cajun experience. We left and were so disappointed.

I went to the place since I received Valpak coupon and read ratings on yelp. Overall speaking, the environment is very clean and service is great. I will give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, the flavor of their boiling crabs and shrimp is not my cup of tea. I like thick and heavy flavor like boiling crab or Jones crab shack. But my friend likes baby crab more. Overall, 4 stars

Similar pricing to Boiling Crab - Food was cooked very well and pretty spicy if you want it The Lintogether sauce is a nice taste, went well with the shrimp but not the corn! The place was not busy but did fill up as we started eating (5:00 pm). Quiet shopping center. Overall, give this place a shot for Cajun style seafood if you craving it. I am coming back for some more

This is the only crawfish place I go to now. The shrimp is always huge and cooked perfectly. I never have to wait in the sun like at some other places. Their flavor is the best in the Bay Area. They also have excellent fried rice, fried catfish, and fried shrimp.

I came here with my fiancé and my daughter on a Sunday night, maybe around 7ish. My daughter and I both love shrimp, so cajun peel and eat places are the place to BE. We had just moved to the Ardenwood neighborhood, so we thought we'd try this place out since it's right down the block. I have to say, I was not expecting an empty parking lot and a similarly (completely) empty restaurant. It does take some guts to walk into a place that is virtually unoccupied. But alas- we were hungry and decided that our hunger trumped the almost eerily empty restaurant. It got 4 yelp stars, after all. We ordered 3 pounds of shrimp, garlic noodles, jambalaya, and cajun fries. All were delicious- the jambalaya was a little (okay, a lot) spicy, but still very good. The shrimp were definitely not average size- much larger than other cajun places I've been to. Think almost tiger shrimp in size. My daughter and I were quite happy. We devoured it all (and shared some with the fiancé). I guess one of the benefits of being the only patrons in the place is that you get the waitstaff's attention all to yourself, which I can't lie- was pretty fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. He even offered to squash a nearby pestering fly for us. Now that's service. I will definitely be back. It's nice to know that there's a place nearby that will satisfy the shrimp hunger when it strikes.

Updating my rating to now one star! The only thing I liked here was the garlic noodles after my first visit when they first opened! Now, they went cheap on us with cheaper smaller noodles and barely any sauce! I am not going back anymore. I will only come back if they change it back when they first opened. Check out my first images how it looked...The noodles were egg noodles and full of flavor. They failed...

This place totally worth the drive! I absolutely hate to wait in line for food. Most Cajun Seafood places took at least 1-2 hours long wait and another 30-40 mins wait for food on weekends. This is so far the best Cajun seafood place I've ever been. We had 4 lbs shrimp, 2 lbs clams, corn and sausages with medium hot "House Special Sauce". Shrimps are big and fresh!! How about the sauce?? It's so good that my friend even ordered a bowl of rice to eat with it! Will go again this coming weekend!!

Favorite local Cajun place and great for watching sports games and events with your family! I highly recommend the garlic butter shrimp and the lintengether shrimp is great if you're into spicy foods! Can add corn and sausage in your bag as well! bibs and gloves are provided so be prepared to get messy (: overall a family friendly environment will for sure be visiting more often !

Baby Lobster's entrance is to the side, the glazed over sidedoor. (must be a feng shui issue). offerings: clam, lobster, oysters on half shell, shrimp, mussel?, cajun fries, fried catfish. garlic noodle, etc. eatery has no decor. flatscreen showing soccer. grand opening 20% off for a limited time. eats: fried catfish w/cajun fries(8.99) -3 large pieces, lightly battered -fish tasted fresh, not fishy -fish thick flesh, may not be catfish, basa maybe? -fries not so cajun, not spicy lots of fries, crunchy, salty garlic noodles, small bowl(4.99) -nice garlic taste without hint of granules used, so must be fresh garlic . takeouts: -service very attentive -not sure how the main boiled seafood would be, fried "catfish" and garlic noodles fab.

This place really surprised me! I had low expectations given that I never heard of this place and when I got here my mom and I were the only people in the restaurant. Although their "lintogether" sauce was very tasty and flavorful, not too oily like most places. It did not make me feel so guilty after eating, I certainly am coming back for more! I love how this place is super close to my house too. When I get those BC cravings I can come here satisfied. Sweet potatoe fries were pretty good too. Crispy and not soggy. Very friendly service and I personally prefer their sauce more than Ray's Crab Shack.

This restaurant was a big disappointment and a waste of time. It was however an experience. I have never had this many mixed feelings about such an establishment before. My family and I arrived with our doubts, and those doubts were quickly reinforced. The entrance is deceiving, having you walk through the single door on the side, which you are soon greeted by an awkward setup with a bland and confused atmosphere. You would think that this being such a hyped genre of food establishments now these days, that the inside would be fitting to such a theme as Louisianan Cajun food, with clever paintings and decor like sea shells, prized trophy fish, or fitting ambience, but there were two televisions set to the Sports Center and Spike, an off putting radio station, minimal effort in decor, and an orange and brown clashing wall color. The round tables that are to accompany a larger party are covered in linen cloth instead of the generic wax paper that they have on the other tables. We asked them and they said we can still use the cloth as we would use the wax paper. The service is inconsistent even though we were the only customers present. They brought out our first order almost instantaneously, which was then followed by our shrimp. After that, the delivery went south. The rice we ordered was delivered after a second request, along with our order of sweet potato fries. We had to request a second time for more gloves and another straw. The servers were very hard to understand and very confusing. I'm not trying to be mean, but for the employees that are going to be communicating with the customers, there was a lot of miscommunication. Now, onto the food. The food failed to disappoint. The sauce and seasoning for the shrimp was surprisingly good. There is a nice balance between spice and tang. The sweet potato fries could be better but are a good appetizer. If you do however order the hot wings and sweet potato fries, do not be fooled when you get the hot wings and fries in a basket together. The fries with the wings are the separate order of fries. The water is quite refreshing. They are in paper cups however, so that might raise some concern with those who are environmentally conscious. We ordered the garlic noodles and those were okay. The seasoning seemed a little out of proportion and the noodles seemed over cooked. We came here with low expectations and left with every bit of it intact. This was quite the experience. Just turned out to be one of those, "Won't know it until you try it," moments.

Cooked crab with drawn butter and rice. So simple but killer. They give you a pair of sharp scissors and plastic gloves so you know they're serious! Corn on the cob tasted weird but the crab was great and the meatiest I've had in a while. No nonsense just crab or lobster

After reading the rave reviews and always being on a lookout for the next best thing that is not Boiling crab, I was excited to finally try Baby Lobster. The owner greeted my friend and I warmly and was very attentive (the redeeming quality of B.L). However, the food was sub-par at best. We ordered the garlic noodles, 1 lb of the shrimp with the house special sauce and 6 pieces of sausages. The garlic noodles threw me off because it has a very sweet flavor to it. Not appetizing. The shrimp was okay- I was expecting more flavor and I felt that the sauce was on the stingy side. Oh well- maybe it was an off day.

This family owned restaurant definitely deserves well over 4 stars. The jambalaya was so flavorful and spicy, I definitely recommend it. We ordered 2 lbs of clam and 1 lb of shrimp in lintogether sauce and 1 half corn on the cob. I COULD SWIM IN LINTOGETHER SAUCE! My husband and I loved the sauce so much we were literally spooning it into our mouths like soup. The food came out fast and hot and perfect. GREAT customer service. My soda refills were unlimited (unbeknownst to me) and the owner made sure my drink was never less than half full. He was so attentive and sat us in front of the TV, gave my husband the remote and told him to change it to whatever he liked (granted we were the only ones in the restaurant which blows my mind because this place is so great). My husband ordered 2 beers and the owner was so sweet and gave him a 3rd on the house. I've been to a few other restaurants in the Bay Area much like this one, but this was by far the best customer experience and most definitely the best sauce combo I've had. I'm a huge fan and can't wait to bring my Mom and Sister to try it. Definitely telling friends and family about this place.

Drove past this place and thought I'd give it a try. Came in for their lunch special and were excited to eat. Turned out, the lunch special was not special at all. The rice was mushy and there was too much sauce (cajun bowl). The price is cheap but you get what you pay for. I expected more than what I received. I clearly asked for Pepsi but the waiter gave me a iced tea instead. The thing is, we were one of the only parties in the place, so i was surprised to receive the wrong drink ! Would not come back. I've had better food and service elsewhere in fremont.

Manager was friendly and responsive; we never had to ask for water or iced tea refills. Food was reasonably priced, delivered within 10 minutes and flavorful. Fries were not frozen and was made fresh just like the shrimp.

My friends and I chose to eat here today, there was about 8 of us. when I walked in, there was no other parties but my party. We sat at a round table in the corner of the room that was kind of cramped and the wax paper was sloppy-ly thrown on the table as it hung off the edges, got in the way, and didn't cover the whole table. I imagine that if the place were full/busy that it'd be super cramped because all the tables were pushed way too close together. The service was fine. It didn't take too long for the food to come out but the man who took our order (I assume he's the owner) messed up and forgot to add corn in our bags. We got the "Lintogether" sauce (Cajun garlic butter lemon pepper mix). The sauce itself was actually pretty good. But everything was kind of ghetto, lol. Our rice was served on paper bowls (the styrofoam type from Costco or something). he handed us our bibs and gloves from a box he opened in front of us. Our drinks were in paper cups. And he asked us if we wanted applications to work when we finished our food.. LOL. the food was okay but if I'm in Newark I'll choose Rays Crabshack over Baby Lobster.

I really wanted to like this place but it was just mediocre for me. I had a cajun food craving and found this place on yelp. My usual go to spots are boiling crab and kickin' crab but I thought I'd give this place a chance since it's closer to where I live. We came for an early dinner and when we walked in there were no customers and I found that odd but just thought ok maybe because it's still early. My mom doesn't eat that much so she and I shared 1.5 lbs of shrimp with mild lintogether sauce, rice and cajun fries. As we were waiting I noticed there was no salt, pepper, and limes given like the other establishments so I asked for some. The waiter gave me and my mom one piece of lime each!!! That is definitely not enough so we asked for more and he gave us another one piece each! ok, they are just not generous with the limes. So the shrimp comes out and was surprised it was 1.5 lbs because it felt like the portion was a little small. I should have been warned by the previous reviews. The shrimp was big though just slightly overcooked (you can tell when the shell sticks to the meat). The mild sauce still packed some heat which was good. The sauce's favoring was too sweet for me compared to other cajun places. Cajun fries came out piping hot and crispy and those were good! Decor is just ok, it could use some revamping. Overall, this place is just ok. If it's going to compete with bigger establishments like boiling crab it's gonna need some work.

This place used to be Taco Bell Express ( Still no have no idea why it was called Express - it had no Drive-thru) Anyways Baby Lobster was a great experience. Service was great! Prices are decent , the Shrimps are significantly larger than Rays Crab Shack. The Spiciness was perfect and the CAJUN WINGS topped with diced green onions hit the spot & were so good !!! Free Soda refills for $2.00. Owner refilled twice my soda without me even asking. Plenty of napkins on the table , clear plastic hand gloves & bibs because it's going to get extremely messy. Make use of the scented mini hand towel at the end, your going to need it. I'm a fan!

Finally went in to check it out and was absolutely thrilled with the result. The lobster in crazy good sauce was tasty and so much fun to eat. This is a down to earth, old school seafood boil resto. No fancy plates, no plates at alll in fact, just a giant bag of "name your seafood" in a well seasoned sauce. One can add sausage or corn or whatever other sides to the mix and the result is a delightful grab bag o' tasty. The perfect place to pop into when I'm craving a good Louisiana crawfish boil. The service was attentive and professional, the poor guy even brought me a free beer when I knocked mine off the table. We tried the hot wings and I ate them dry, although the sauce would have been delicious, it was too spicy for the hubs (as were the wings). Different from what I expected, they were breaded, then deep fried and had a wonderful coating of what I believe was cayenne, making the heat build with each bite, which is the way I love heat to react on my palate. They tasted like chicken covered in extra spicy BBQ potato chips. I loved 'em. And if you go, prepare to wear a raincoat of napkins, because this is a dig in and get MESSY kind of meal. Come on Y'all, you know you want to...

Awesome place to get the best flavoring craw fish in nor cal. Stopped by on my way to visit my relatives because my friends and family told me about it.It's been open for awhile now -- decor is simple, it's not over dramatic . The price is just right, it's the flavoring that gets you -- There is a kick to them unlike the other places I've had. Highlight recommended for seafood lovers -- There isn't a long line like boiling crab and the rest of them, but i'm sure this place will get to that level soon, so I suggest you grab a table before it turns out like that. Best wishes to them and I'll surely visit again!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night with some friends. Very friendly service and straight to the point. We all ordered shrimp which was flavorful, salt and pepper fried squid which was yummy, Cajun friends were average, gumbo which was coo and really hot, and the corn on the cob was smack. The sauce for the shrimp wasn't watered down or super fatty like other places which I really liked. Overall, it was a great experience and would come back if I'm in the area!

The man who greeted us when we walked in was very friendly. We waited about 15 minutes for our take-out order. We got fried catfish and chips and an order of Cajun wings. Everything was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly fried (crispy on the outside, tender on the inside) with great flavor! It was the same for the wings! The wings are lightly battered and served with a sweet/tangy sauce. Great job, Baby Lobster! I will be returning!

I usually go to Boiling Crab or Joes Crab Shack to satisfy my needs like the rest of the people who have tried this place. The people who criticize I think Have seen to much "Chopped" on the Food Network lol. MY GOD they criticize every single detail like they were professional judges. People who like good food do not care if the place is about to fall apart, because that does not change the experience and taste of the food lol. Ok, not the best in town but I am giving this place a 5 because the owner was extremely friendly. He realized the warriors were playing and gave us $2 beers even after happy hour. I am not a food expert but when you are extremely friendly with customers, it makes it easier to come back, even if the food is not the best in town. So pretty much, this place is a good back up if you do not like waiting 1-2 hours to be seated and you are craving some good Louisiana style food. Definitely satisfied my needs!!

I wanted to like this place more, but I guess it just didn't suit my tastes. Service and Friendliness: Russell gets all 5 stars. It's great. Decor: Like many other Cajun places, but a little bit more modest. 3 Stars. Food: And this is where things fell short for me. 1. Garlic Noodles. They're very flavorful, but don't expect too much garlic flavor. A little too sweet for my taste, but they're unique and enjoyable. 3/5 2. Clams (Cajun & Lintogether). Lintogether was slightly sweeter, but other than that, not too much difference from the Cajun. Big Juicy Clams (rare accomplishment), but they felt a little undercooked and fishy. 3/5 3. Jambalaya. Flavor was pretty decent, but the rice was all stuck in one clump. Sausages are just like the large Hillshire Farm links, and the Shrimp was way overcooked (tough). 2/5 4. Catfish & Cajun Fries: Very standard. What you can expect from fried fish and fries. They coat their fries in something a little extra, but I don't feel it contributes much. 3/5 At the end of the day, I'd give it a 3/5 overall. It's a decent place to eat for sure, and probably worth a try for those curious. But there are many other superior Cajun places to eat in the area. However, I would say if you prefer a slightly more 'Asian' flavor to your Cajun food, this is probably the place to go.

I was fairly skeptical about eating here since the reviews weren't so promising when it first opened. But I'm really glad that my boyfriend loves Cajun food. That and convenience so we ended up ordering take out last month. I'm so glad we did! The lintogether sauce is so flavorful! Just be very wary if you can't eat spicy food. Order mild or even opt for no spicy seasoning as they can sometimes be heavy handed with the spiciness. The shrimp, crawfish, wings, fried catfish and Cajun fries here are all really good. My favorite thing is probably the Cajun fries. They batter it in something... It's amazing. And for $3 I can't complain at all. I'm just worried that this place won't be around much longer. Whenever we pick up dinner here on the weekends, we're usually the only customers. Sometimes we see one or two tables occupied. Lastly, if you order the chicken wings to go, ask for the sauce to be on the side. It makes them all soggy once you get home. I prefer the wings to still be crispy and I can dip them into the sauce. That and the sauce is really really spicy in my opinion.
