Don't understand why/how this Village Pizzeria has less than 4 stars! Like: Spinach salad - I tend to stay away from blue cheese but the combination in this salad is surprisingly tasty & wonderful! Fettuccine Alfredo - The kids devoured it! Twisted bread that comes with the dish - Could come in just for that! The cheese sandwich with turkey on ciabatta bread Brown Ale - Local brew from No. County. They have an assortment of local brews Kids loved it The view! Service Wish: They had a hot sauce other than Tabasco. For example: Tapatio, Cholula, or local/regional ones. Would complement quite well!

AWESOME Location ! Pizza has lost it's "edge"... I mean, well made, but no longer as good as when they were on the old "Mexican Village" Location, may be the "Oven" ?!? No idea... Service could be from Great to... ok... Doesn't really depend on how "busy" they are, but mainly on WHO is your Waitress (I know, there are two "Waiters", but 90% of the time we've been served by a waitress... it almost seems as if the "Waiters" are really just covering whenever a Waitress has to take her brake...no big deal, in fact the guys have usually been good) Stick to Pizza, as the rest of the menu is quite inconsistent... not necessarily bad, but if you liked your Calzone because it was "crispy" don't be surprised if it's "soggy" the next time you order it... They have another location on the opposite side of town, nearby the Hotel Del, but don't bother, prices are the same, and you'll be "Downgrading" your view, from the Bay, to a busy Street (orange Avenue) Food is "slightly" more flavorful... but I'll rather stick to Pizza & Beer...and ENJOY this Locations View, EVERY TIME !

As I'm sitting here waiting and waiting for my sandwich to arrive l have to say it already looks like a ripoff non-alcoholic drinks not listed on the menu cost three bucks. The hostess is too busy doing Facebook for me to get her attention. Garlic fries where's the garlic? I can get you more garlic to throw on top. SERIOUSLY? One garlic fry at Petco has more garlic than this whole order. The Meatball sandwich meh, it's filling but not much flavor. I'd pass if I were you. I will next time.

Meh. If you're looking to add a slice of pizza to your least favorites list, then this is the place to do it. I came in off the Ferry Landing to share a slice with a friend post 5K run. Because who doesn't want a nice carbby, fatty and oily slice of pizza after a run? Well this place has it covered. Except it was way too greasy. We shared a slice of sausage and mushroom and it was very passable. My buddy who is a lover of all foods and finishes everything for me couldn't even eat the rest. In addition to it, the service blew. The lady did not want to be there and after the slice, neither did I.

Just when I thought I've finally managed to find the perfect pizzeria, I end up being wrong! Omg Village pizzeria bayside has managed to top my pizza joints in san diego as the #1 pizza joint. Listen, if you R in-need for pizza, please do urself a favor and drive up to Coronado to get a great piece of Pie. Because lets be honest. intake of the damn count of calories an average pie has, u have to take for consideration therefore if its worth the calories than figure out a way to get to a place worth the intake of it. Anyways, the pizza was to die for, and was so amazing I asked for a carryout order of an additional pizza. The 3yr old kid, Wife, and I were just enjoying a day at the beach before the crazy 4th of july weekend arrives, and she has mentioned to me few times that "Village Pizzeria is a good pizza joint" and being a typical guy, I either didn't hear her, or just ignored her resources since I depend on Yelp when it comes to my tummy. Sorry guys just try'n 2b real. Ok, ok just kidding. We got the chance to put in the order, and got me ice, crisp, and tasty Beer, a side order of their traditional deep fried Calamaris, and some bread sticks with extra marinara sauce on the side. As a starter to get things going, it was pretty good. very crisp, fresh, and tasty. We finally put in our orders of "pizza" the kid got his kids size pepperoni pizza and the wife .her gluten-free pizza yes they have "gluten-free" dough. As of for me, i got me a large, Hand toss, meat balls, onions, and bacon. oh and well done please. Honestly, every bite was like finding a new meaning in life. I destroyed the entire pie for me, and yes thank God it was full Gluten so it can be all for me. Overall, it was great, a little Crowded but come on ur view is the damn BEACH no surprise there. The services is excellent all aboard. It took a little longer than usual to get my beer re-filled and thats bc she couldn't keep up w/ me haha.

30+ people, and one waitress working the table...and she worked it hard. But everyone there was satisfied and had a great time. We have a staff professional development day and after requesting "no more Mexican food please!" we had our wonderful lunch here. After walking downtown a bit and taking the Coronado ferry there, we were starving. They had our seats ready and the minute we sat down "BOOM" the salads came out, the chicken wings and the bread knots. They knew we were HANGRY! The waitress came around and got our drink orders right away, the manager started setting up the pizza and pasta table buffet style for all of us to grab and go...zucchini sticks and artichoke hearts also arrived. It was a smorgasbord of carbs and deep fried frenzy! To top it all off, we got cheesecake with chocolate and caramel sauce and a mocha mud pie dessert. We were supposed to share the dessert but nope...we all like to eat so that meant no sharing! hahaha! sorry Village PIzzeria! Everything tasted great, I really enjoyed the artichoke though and the basil/pesto dipping sauce was delicious! The staff was calm, helpful and was really patient with us while serving the lunch rush too.

A few friends and I decided to try this place on a Sunday morning, and there was a mix of feelings about this place. I got a calzone with bacon and pepperoni, someone else got the BBQ chicken pizza, and the others got sandwiches. My calzone was pretty good. It had mozzarella and ricotta and the meats. I wish there was more of the ricotta because it balanced out the full flavors of the crust and meats. The crust was okay, just a little too doughy for my tastes The BBQ chicken pizza was pretty good. The BBQ wasn't overwhelming at all, but again, if the crust had been a little less floppy. It would have been awesome if it had a bit of a crunch to it. The sandwiches looked okay.. But again, everyone's bread disintegrated as they tried to eat it. The garlic fries are really good though! Service was awesome, and I never had any real problems with the food. The food was better than average, but I'm not motivated to go again. At least anytime soon.

Arrived at 5:30 on a weeknight. We were immediately seated, waitress very friendly and service was quick! The food (a very large portion!) was at best just mediocre. Hubby had chicken parmigiana and I had childs portion of cheese ravioli. They were hot. The marinara was nice and not to spicy. The rolls ( I believe his was supposed to be a garlic) were ok. The food lacked flavor and the presentation is better at Pizza Hut These guys could and should do WAY better given their location!

Not a rip off like most tourist areas. Great food variety and beer. Buffalo wings where amazing , the hoagies were awesome. I saw the huge chicken parmigan and calzones and was very jealous. Everyone seemed as happy as i was. Craft beers too! View of the San Diego marina and skyline.

This place definitely gets extra points for the location. Today was possibly one of the most beautiful days and the bayside location of Coronado was packed. This restaurant had a super long wait. Luckily, they have a side where you can order pizza, salad and sandwiches. We set up a blanket right by the water and my husband got 4 slices of pizza and some garlic knots for $11. Given the euphoria of the location and that our little guy kept screaming "boats and planes," the food didn't really have to be high quality. It really wasn't great pizza. The bottom was burnt. The garlic knots didn't really taste like garlic. Did I mention the location is breathtaking ;) Overall, the price was good and it was exactly what we were looking for. I'll give them a pass on the quality of food because of the high volume of people. We'll be back to give this place a fair assessment.

The service was pretty bad here, but the food was good. The waitress wasn't really listening to the orders that well. One of us wanted balsamic vinaigrette as the dressing on the chopped Italian salad and she ended up bringing the chopped Italian as they usually make it with Italian dressing and she brought the balsamic on the side. Also, the salads took longer than usual and the pizza we ordered as a group came out a minute afterwards. Bad timing. With that being said, the food was pretty good. I had the chopped Italian without meat and mushrooms and it was really yummy. We all split a thin crust pizza with red sauce, cheese, olives, green peppers, and red onions and it was good.

  • Nicole J.

Don't expect to get a to go slice and then change your mind and want to eat there. They will literally block your way and tell you that you should have thought of that before you ordered because the seats aren't for you. Ok well guess where the rest of us who haven't ordered will be going? Next door to the BBQ place where the service is nice and the food is better.

Has it all. Oceanview Great buffalo wings Great craft beer on tap Garlic knots are ummmmm. Any whiners complaining should be ignored. Brussel sprout pizza is good, and I'm not a tree hugger type

We had just taken the Ferry over to Coronado and we were starving. We decided to try Village Pizzeria. We were seated right away and the server was kind enough to put us in the shade (it was warm out). I ordered a house salad with a chicken breast and dressing on the side. The salad was basic iceberg lettuce with onions and peppers. The chicken was seasoned so I wasn't thrilled about that because I'm watching my diet, but it was really good. My youngest son ordered the turkey cheese sandwich from the kid's menu. It came toasted and he thought it was great! My older son ordered a cheese calzone and it was huge and filled with so much cheese I was worried he might choke. He liked it, but it required a lot of effort chewing. It took a little while to get our check, but we weren't in a rush. Overall it was an ok experience.

Great location being on the water and all.. But I was with a party of six and we had to wait an hour for sitting.. We asked why and was told they were waiting to seat a party of 30! The guy came outside three times to call for the party of 30.. Needless to say the people waiting to be seated was pretty piss! Waiting on Wiley party of 30!

Five stars on experience. The pizza is very good, the view is beautiful, affordable pizza, and the customer service went above and beyond. I was talking to the lady taking my order and a gentleman in the back heard me to ask for a restroom to wash my hands before I began to eat their pizza. Without acknowledging or saying anything, he went out of his way, and went to a restaurant next door to get me hand wipes before I even got my pizza.

I am only reviewing as a walk up customer. There is also a restaurant, which I didn't experience. The girl who helped us is Steph A. (According to the receipt. ) I ordered some garlic knots, for a group. They sell at .50 each, or 6 for $5. I questioned the girl, because the math doesn't add up. Usually, the more you order of something, the cheaper the individual unit costs. She didn't understand what I was saying, so I had no choice but to pay .83 each for 6. I felt I was completely robbed. Then I noticed there was a restaurant behind the alley way. I asked, "oh, there a restaurant too?" She replied wire rudely, "yes, but you can't sit down once you order to go." We ordered some slices, the garlic knots, and a cookie. The knots were cold even after she heated them up. The cookie was not impressive. It was more of a muffin texture. The only reason I give this place three stars is because the pizza was very yummy. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were very good quality. The customer service on the walk up counter was pathetic. I'd be willing to try the restaurant, though.

Okay so, I've been here a couple of times already. Most of the time, service is great. Yesterday was Mother's Day and a group of friends and I decided to have some pizza after a day at the beach. Food was great, our waitress somehow managed to describe a ginormous pizza as "feeds 8-10"... Not complaining. It came out looking like it could feed an army! However, it was way too much for us party of 6. Here's the not so great details: Our waitress messed up our order. We asked for the works with no olives.. This ginormous pizza was literally covered in olives. Then when we asked the waitress about it, she apologized but didn't offer to fix the problem and avoided the table the rest of the time there. We ended up speaking to the manager at the end of the night because some of our party was allergic to olives. And we waited about 30mins or so for our order to even come out.

Stumbled upon this place after our outdoor concert was cancelled due to the pouring rain. We were not expecting much, but the service was suberb/ very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask for Sam as your server. She was fabulous! The warm bacon and spinach salad had one of the tastiest dressings (honey poppyseed?) we have ever tried. They make it in house. And the brussels sprout pizza? Perfect marriage of flavors. I cannot wait to return, and am so glad that I live just across the water. This place is uber casual, and is a great family friendly spot. In fact, it is so family friendly that you can expect noisy babies and children, but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment. Plus, the views are amazing. :-)

This would have got 4 or 5 stars if our waitress wasn't so rude. We were so offended by "Steph's" offputting attitude that we almost just left the restaurant. However, we didn't want to be late for our ferry, and decided to give the place a shot. The pizza was good and every other interaction we had with the staff was pleasant. I just can't believe how rude our waitress was. She was so impatient and would openly scoff. She barely made it back to the table often so other waitresses helped us out with refills etc...I don't think we will be returning here just because of that experience. We are SD natives and love to take to the ferry to coronado especially when family visits...but my advice is splurge on il fornaio or try another restaurant there (maybe the bbq place)? the price you pay isn't worth the ambience and attitude. My guess is that management doesn't care if they lose customers, since they are at a great location and will probably have customers no matter how many leave because of rude waitresses. Nevertheless, it is a shame because this restaurant could be absolutely perfect (good location/good food) if they trained this waitress on how to not make customers feel like they are such an inconvenience to her. My other guess is that this isn't the first complaint about her.

I've been here twice and I have to say I will continue coming here for Italian good. Everything I have tried is delicious!!! The only thing that my my friend mentioned was kinda "blah" and no flavor on the sauce was the chicken parmesan dish. The portions are huge, EXCEPT for the ravioli. Highly recommend this spot though, you can see some skyline of beautiful SD and enjoy the nice weather we always get. Kudos to such a cute and amazing food spot.

Delicious pizza with a beautiful view of the bay! It has a bit of a romantic setting so it's a nice place to go on a date after hitting the beach! Try the barbecue chicken pizza and ask for a side of their ranch, it's the best ranch ever! I would have given this place 5 stars if the waiter had came to check on us at least once but she never did! Our waters/drinks were empty for a while and we had to call her as she passed our table to tell her we needed refills. Other than that, it's a delicious pizzeria and I'll be back!

The pizza here is pretty good but pricey. It's just too bad we sat down for 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order or even offer us drinks/appetizers. I saw multiple people waiting on food. It was clear they didn't have enough help. Beautiful view but service doesn't even come close.

First time at Village Pizzeria Bayside and I was really impressed. I had a fresh glass of unsweetened iced tea with lemon and a calzone stuffed with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, canadian bacon and pineapple. The portions are huge. The food is all cooked from scratch so add a little bit of time for your food to be prepared. The view of downtown San Diego and the bay is also amazing from the restaurant. Very fulfilling meal. 2 thumbs up from me.

Nice little eatery just across San Diego Down Town at the Coronado Water Taxi Landing. We sailed that afternoon when we were overcome by hunger. We are in luck, the public dock was available for a tie up. Lets get some food. We ordered some Hoagies and Fettucini Alfredo. Yummy. We also got some cold bear. Yummy. Alright, this please provided a good stop in the afternoon. Thanks guys.

3.5 stars. The pizza is pretty good but on the pricey side. Staff is friendly and pretty attentive. They do not hover but come by on a regualr basis to check up on you. On the weekends, it can get busy so come after the lunch rush. Seating is all outdoors. When it is warm, it is really nice. Great views of downtown and the bay. They do carry nice selection of local craft beers.

Horrible customer service. I have visited the location on Orange ave, so I expected the same service but was very disappointed! Our food took 40mins to come out and the waitress 'Candice' never checked on us! I needed a side of balsamic but I had to get up from our table ask for it inside myself. Candice also never refilled our beverages. We didn't see Candice again until it was time to get our check and as I write we've been sitting waiting on that check for 15mins...

Went here a dew days ago and the food was damn good! However though, I felt bad for her as she had a table behind us with fat woman who where flat out rude. Stiffed her with a dollar/no tip and said she needed to be nicer. She was nothing but smiles the whole time, cracked jokes, and laughed with us. The people here are awesome and super friendly!! I'd go back

One of the best pizza places in San Diego. They use NY water to make the dough and it makes a difference. The crust is great. The view if the bay is amazing too.

Located near the Coronado Ferry Landing is this neat little pizza spot. I ordered some pizza fries and a "small" pepperoni and sausage pizza. Loved the pizza fries. They consist of crinkle cut fries (my favorite type) smothered in gooey mozzarella and pizza sauce. They give you a lot of fries for it to be an appetizer. The pizza was great though not the best that I've ever had. They say that the dough is made from bottled tap water shipped from Brooklyn...don't know if it is true but I'll take their word for it.

As an east coaster visiting San Diego I feel the Village Pizzeria does a pretty good job at making their New York Style pizza. We came in with an extremely large group of people and were accommodated very well. Despite the large group and large amount of food ordered we were served in a timely manner. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful despite the busy restaurant and our group size. Caesar and chopped salad were both very good, but pretty hard to mess that up. We split some calamari and garlic knots for appetizers. Garlic knots had just the right amount of seasoning and went well with both the ranch and marinara sauce. The cheese and pepperoni were nothing out of this world and I thought the pepperoni was a tad on the greasy side. The specialty pizzas we ordered: meathead, Hawaiian, and veggie all had interesting flavors and I enjoyed the veggie pizza the most. Perfect amount of toppings and we took a lot to go. The setting and location is hard to beat. The location being on Coronado is most likely the reason for the higher prices. As mentioned, it's a little on the pricey side, but being on the island will do that. I tend to reserve 4 and 5 stars for truly exceptional places, but this place is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Next time I go here I'll order some non-pizza items to give it a try, but can't go wrong with what they're named for.

We had pizza delivered to our hotel. A 12 inch pepperoni pizza and garlic knots both were really good. The only reason I'm not leaving five stars is because I ordered a ranch and I did not get ranch with my delivery. They did however bring us plates, napkins, forks, and everything that they realized we would not have due to staying in a hotel on vacation. The delivery was fast and the prices were very reasonable.

Great view and a busy restaurant. The mozzarella sticks were mushy and lacked a crispy exterior. They were served somewhat warm with a modest tomato sauce for dipping. Our cheese pizza had a crust that lacked texture was topped with oily cheese. My suspicion was that the sticks and even the pizza were made in advance and reheated. The beer was moderately cold and served in unfrosted glasses. Again, the view was great; the mostly out-of-town visitors seemed happy.

Happy hour is the very best time to come here. Half price on the appetizers and cheap slices make me very happy. A good selection of beers on tap make me even happier! The staff is always really cool and friendly. There is a beautiful view of the bay and the downtown skyline, and the Ferry Landing offers several options for shopping and dessert.

  • Marie A.

Terrible. Pizza wasn't even heated up fully, slow service, and flies were landing all over the food within the pizza case with no attempt to stop it! The only redeeming quality is it's fairly cheap for the tourist trap location and the slice size is pretty big.

Went here for dinner last night. Pizza was good. Had the supreme. I have read some of the posts and agree that eating here can be expensive, but luckily we used a coupon from the Entertainment book. It was 50% off your pizza. We ordered water to save us more money. It was dark by the time we were done eating. The view is beautiful at night from the restaurant. Service was good. Luckily our waitress was nice. Overall experience was good.

This is a great place to take the family! Great Pizza! The Calzone is awesome! They have a pepper seasoning that puts the icing on the cake! And lets not forget the amazing view of the bay!

Went again and it was much better. Good food good service. Had a big group and we were all taken care of. I wish they had the wedge salad still. Cuz that was the bomb. Thanks.

I have been here several times and I have yet to have a bad experience. Pretty good pizza and nice indoor/outdoor seating area. Favorite part is definitely the view, it doesn't get any better than the San Diego skyline! I recommend going for a casual date or food with the family, any occasion really. I read some of the reviews and I can agree that the price is bit much but I think that the view makes it worth the while. Overall good service, view, and food; can't ask for much more.

We were seated quickly. They brought the garlic bread appetizer quickly with an abundant amount of Alfredo sauce. However, our main meal took a while to get and then our waitress disappeared after dropping off our meals. The first bite of my meatball sandwich was disgusting! The meat had an unusual taste. I looked for our server but by the time she came back to refill drinks, everyone was close to finishing their meals. So I sent back the sandwich and they took it off the bill. Everyone else thought their meals were okay.

The pizza's are huge. We got a medium for 4 people, and we were all stuffed. We got half meathead (meat lovers) and half napoli (similar to margarita). Both kinds were very good. It is NY style thin crust pizza. The meat side was piled with toppings and the margarita had really good flavors. Also, the views are spectacular. The restaurant has a spectacular view of the downtown skyline right over the bay. The whole dining experience was very good.

Not a bad place. Great view of the ferry landing while you eat...however, you need to get a window seat on the edge to view it. So if there are no seats available you are kinda SOL. The food was pretty fresh. The salad was good. Took an order of the billy goat pizza. Fresh ingredients and they used white cheese. This was basically a mix of various vegetables and it had a tangy kick to the pizza with some special sauce they use. Throw in some beers and the meal was over $60. Pricey but its Coronado...this was expected. Parking in the lot can be a hassle on a weekend so try the street parking if that fails. Service overall was pretty good.

Great bowl of lasagna and today I was introduced to IPL beer, great experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, the weather (2:00) was great, and we had the chance to people watch and look at boats in the bay. And dont forget the San Diego skyline.

Annoying that it took forever to get a waitress over. Then my daughter and I never even got our food. Waiting 20 min to tell her. While my whole family finished their food. Horrible. I won't be back.

Worst service I've ever had. Food good but staff rude and slow. Over priced tourist trap. Rent not cheap in Coronado.

  • John L.

Some of the worst pizza I have ever had, and don't even get me started on the mozzarella sticks. Let's start with appetizers. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were prepackaged and microwaved. They tasted like rubber. The pizza was a similar story. It tasted like it was made from cheap cheese a couple of weeks ago and then reheated about an hour ago. The "crust" chewed somewhat like the rubber thing you put inside of your running shoes. The beer had completely lost its flavor and probably hadn't been stored well. The only upside was the view, but with a great view comes a great weight lifted from your pocket. I don't suggest that you come here unless your idea of fine dining is microwaved food. The wait staff seemed like they didn't care but were trying to be friendly, and failing. What confused me was the amount of people and the good reviews. If looking for good pizza, try elsewhere.

Village Pizzeria's menu has one of the best sentences ever on it. I'm paraphrasing, but it reads, "We use bottled water from New York City to make our pizza." YESSSSS. Sweet jumping jack back spasms somebody around here has a clue and it rhymes with Village Pizzeria!!! You ask any New Yorker, or anyone from the NY/NJ/PA area about trying to find good pizza outside the golden triangle, and they'll give you the same answer. "No one has good pizza. The water ruins the dough." This is absolutely true. I can count on one hand how many "real" slices of pizza I've eaten outside the tri-state area. Delivery pizza in California, I've found, is wretched. Chicago Pizzeria Uno is junk. California Pizza Kitchen is an abomination. It's even below mall food court pizza. In fact, I'd go as far as to say California Pizza Kitchen is to pizza as Starbucks is to coffee. It's a wrong turn off a cliff. It's a high-speed, head-on train crash during an earthquake. It should just be quiet, and go away. Kind of like the Kardashians. But enough about stuff that leaves your mouth tasting like you just licked the bottom of your car. Let's talk about the happy little nook called Village Pizzeria. The service was cheery and attentive, and I give bonus props to the background music. There wasn't a single song I disenjoyed. The menu had all four food groups: red pizza, white pizza, calzones, and pasta. That's all you need. Salad is on there too, and came in handy because lettuce leaves, when folded properly, provide quick stability to a wobbly table. The bayside view is another plus here. One of my favorite NYC pizza joints is Bayside Pizza, actually (which is odd because it's not even on a bay). Weird. And, it was nice to behold what is quite possibly the only reasonably priced menu in Coronado. It's shocking to see people on Yelp complaining about the prices here. You ever order from any of the places I mentioned above? Come on! You better start making yourself some English muffin pizzas, people, because you aren't going to be happy anywhere! The pizza was spot-on but spot-less. Meaning, it wasn't greasy. Great work. So yes, you are A-OK in my book.

Walked away because I didn't want to pay $22 for a 10 inch pizza. Tourist trap. Went to Nicky rotten coronado instead, where they had $3 mimosas and $5 bloody Marys all day.

New York Please ..... oh yes So the location is amazing, you have a view of the bay. The pizza is pretty good....now the prices? Ok it is pricey and one time I went waitress was point on..... second time she couldn't be any further away from it. The pizza though is always on point made pretty good. I am talking about the new yorker it was really good. So If you are itching for like NY pizza this is a good stop but there are others that won't cost as much.

Great tasting gluten free crust that can be applied to any of their delicious pizza options. Combine with a little wine, great company, and a beautiful view and you have lovely casual evening eating yummy pizza! Service was great! I was so hungry and enthralled by the food and ambience that I forgot our servers name but she did an awesome job and everyone who worked there was very friendly. Price was comparable to other speciality pizza restaurants that don't have great tasting GF crust. ;)

I was very disappointed with the food here. I came on a rainy day and found out the restaurant is outdoors. I don't mind being outdoors but it was very cold as well and they did not turn on their perfectly good heaters outside. I would assume if the waiters are all wearing big jackets they certainly thought we must have felt cold too. The staff here is really friendly but the food was also over priced for the quality. I ordered the Whitestone pizza which is an olive oil base. Flavors did not work together it was very unappealing with large clumps of uncooked cheese. My toppings and cheese kept falling off the pizza when I would pick it up because the olive oil made it to slippery. Get some basil and pesto as a sauce it lacked freshness and flavor.

Good pizza, cold beer, great view. You're paying for location; which shouldn't be a surprise in Coronado. Pizza choices and quality are very, very good, and plenty of local beers to choose from if you're interested in that. Awesome view of the bay overlooking the pier, and easy to people watch too. Service is friendly for the atmosphere, even during peak time.

Ultra pricey tourist trap. Island rent ain't cheap. Much better values to be had elsewhere. Pizza is ok, but not exceptional, even by California standards. Service was par for the course. The server was pleasant and checked up on us regularly. Check out specials and happy hour deals, otherwise you could be on the hook for a Coronado sized bill.

I have been going to Village for 3 years, I have brought them tons of business, tons. The pizza is good for a tourist trap. Our last and will be our final trip to village was a bust. I have on one occasion watched my friend bite into a rock the size of a dime, so watch out for those, not kidding. So, my complaint is really this, they changed their menus, it went from a standard restaurant menu to a cheap laminated flyer and the prices are scarcely if at all listed. We ended up buying what we normally order and it was $14 higher than usual, pretty shady. I hate being duped. This is just shady business and i won't be back.

I really don't like this pizza parlor. They don't really help you out with picking what to eat. I ordered the pizza and i didn't know it was going to be so expensive for such a small box of pizza. I ordered the 10 inch meat head pizza togo and they charged me 20$ for FOUR SMALL SLICES the size of my hand. And when I opened the box, it is wasn't even appetizing or appealing. This Coronado island isn't an island, it's like a park.. Next to the water ! Total jip!

The pasta was very good. There was plenty of cheese and the meat sauce was very meaty. The meatball sandwich could have used more sauce, it was an average hogie. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Great service, good food, nice view, very child friendly. We order a side salad that was delicious, fries that as a nice surprise arrived topped with garlic, Mac n cheese for the kids that was fine and a pizza. The pizza was great because I like more European pizza. Flatter crust, less pepperoni than the average American pizza, choice of artichokes, red onions, Brussels sprouts... So if you like the usual greasy pizza covered with lots of pepperoni and traditional veggies you might be disappointed but if you like it different you will be happy.

If anything the view of the city and beach is worth eating here. The pizza is satisfying, the garlic knots are a great appetizer and the Pinot Grigio hit the spot on our Saturday afternoon trip to Coronado. We had a great waitress, and left completely filled with good pizza and salad. Family friendly too!

Just had some very very good pizza right here on the bay in Coronado! Beautiful sight to see while enjoying our perfect meal. I also tried the Zuccini Sticks, they were so delicious!! I was going to rate a 4 but they have the best Ranch I've ever tasted in my life! I'm a ranch fanatic.. I want to do this again, everyone was nice and I highly recommend ya'll to give it a try.

Food: garlic knots are delicious with marinara and ranch, pizza was SOOOOO GOOD! Half pepperonni and half the works NOM NOM NOM. Also, got the entree salad and was enough for 4 people. Everything was good and didnt take long. Service: Our server, Tyler, was so attentative and cool. Not sure why there are so many negatve reviews about the service. She waa great! Ambiance: cant go wrong w a water view Oh and sweetiepie for dessert!!!

The location is beautiful but the food sucks! Our food came out cold and we had to send to back to get reheated and even then... Still came out lukewarm. We had to ask for our check after waiting for what seemed like forever! I would not recommend.

This was my first time to thie Bayside location of Village Pizzeria. Have eatern probably 3 times at the Orange Ave location and had pizza which was average to good. We stopped in here last Saturday evening with friends before heading to a play. Three of us ordered sandwiches and one a salad. The sandwiches were mediocre at best. My meatball marinara sub was probably the worst meatball sandwich I've ever had - Subway's is even better. The meatballs seemed like they were largely bread filler. My friend's chicken parmesan sandwich she also said was not too good. The real probem though was the service. My friend ordered salad with her sancwich, not the fries. When her meal came it had fries and she politely said she ordered salad. The waitresses immediate reaction was to state "are you sure." And then there was no corrective action taken. She should have simply apologized and brought out a salad. I was utterly amazed at the lack of training and correcting a very correctable situation. Very disappointing. I should have asked to see a manager but you know when with friends you don't like to raise a fuss. Very poor handling of the situation by the waitress. Finally, and I am not reflecting this in my rating, the place is not cheap for a pizza / sandwich place. I had the meatball sandwich which included a salad and 1 beer and my wife had a salad and one glass of wine - $40.

I have not had the pizza. I've had the pizza fries, which are interesting, the chicken parmesan sandwich, which isn't bad, but the veggie calzone is a badass boatload of awesomeness. It seems expensive at $14.95, but worth every damn penny and much larger than i expected. Be warned though, smells like it's full of garlic, but doesn't taste so much like it.

rating 1-5, 5 greatest... (3) Pizza ok, standard tourist spot. (1) Service was extremely unwelcoming and rude! I don't give many bad reviews but I was insulted from the minute I walked in from the girl at the front counter. If I wasn't starving and crunched for time to catch the next ferry I would have went somewhere else.

The location of this pizzeria is prime, but it's a shame they don't take advantage of it. The service was terrible. We waited for a long time to even get our order in. The waitress would not let us order what we wanted without sass. Once we got the pricey food it was not up to standard. The pizza was greasy and too thin. The hoagies were messy but semi decent. Overall, we will not return to this establishment.

Calzone was amazing! I love the atmosphere also, very pretty view. They were a bit busy when I came but still managed to provide great service and food, can't remeber our servers name but she was great. Manger even came by to check on us I think his name was Gilbert. Great service and food, I would recommend this place.

Really good pizza. We were in on a Sat night and got here ar 7pm so it was busy. We got seated in a reasonable time. The pizza took a while to get out but I got to assume it was because it was busy. We were seated by heat lamps which became a point of contention when some wanted them on and some off. We ended up leaving early after getting them stacked right on top of us, its just not that cold SD but pizza was worth it))

my first time to Coronado, my boyfriend recommended we eat here for dinner. it was delicious! I got the create your own calzone and it was amazing! he got a New York style pepperoni pizza and loved it! such a delicious meal! and the service was great too! we ordered garlic fries as an appetizer and they didn't come out until we were almost finished with our meal, so our waitress said they were on the house because of the inconvenience! such great customer service! I want to go back again and again!

This pizza place gets extremely crowded. It's a nice spot to eat if you're looking for something casual and are in the mood for pizza. I went around dinner time in the summer, and had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated. This isn't too much of a problem because there are lots of other little stores around that can keep you occupied until a table clears. Luckily, we got to request a window view and were able to look out over the Coronado bay to Downtown San Diego while we ate. The view was nice, but the actual eating area was very noisy and crowded. We ordered the meathead pizza, and they definitely didn't skimp on the meat. It was pretty average pizza, a little salty and greasy, but not bad. We (3 of us) ate several slices, got full, and even went home with a couple of slices that we couldn't finish. Overall, it was filling, average pizza with a nice, but noisy view.

  • Rana R.

Definitely had better pizza & service. Waitress was inattentive, often having to flag her down for attention. Their 28" pizzas are cool in perspective because they're huge, but not huge in flavor. The only item on the menu I enjoyed were the mozzarella sticks & salad, but who can go wrong w/a salad? Prices are average for average food.

$53 for two takeout pizzas, both not cooked all the way through and of Little Ceasar's quality. Terrible in every way and assumedly a tourist trap (it caught us ... Once). What a shame.

Love the food...question the ethics. I paid for the majority of the tasty meal totaling $89.59 with 3 $25 Gift Cards. We'd had a few beers and maybe an employee guessed that I would not scrutinize the bill. I knew the total (after $75 discount) would be $14.59. However, it came back $19.59 and there was nothing to indicate 'what happened'. Someone snuck in a $5 service charge (which was not line itemized anywhere and this random Service Charge is illegal) and they got busted, embarrassed and profusely apologized. A young lady (won't mention her name) was our server, but I got the feeling this other female co-worker (the one that profusely apologized) might have knowingly looked to take advantage...how often does this happen? The male manager adjusted our bill. Lesson: Always, always check your bill for additional charges.

  • Dean P.

This place is very good. Very fresh pizza and yes, I do believe that they get their water from Brooklyn! The meathead pizza is good but I was not expecting how spicy it was, but that wasn't a bad thing! The kids mac and cheese was great also and do not get me started on the garlic knots! Important note: They have two side of this restaurants, one for full service and the other side you can get slices and knots among other things which is a great option if you want to "picnic" in the grassy area or near the beach area.

  • Herm T.

Went here on a Labor Day weekend. Parking wasn't a big problem with free parking everywhere. The location is very scenic with a view of the entire San Diego skyline. The outdoor patio dining with its propane heaters is rather large and great for big groups. The pizza we had was their 30" monstrosity, with New York Style crust, (read-thin) The overall taste is competent and generously topped. It is above average. The salad plate is not for two, three, or four people. It can comfortably feed eight people in your party. It is one of your more bargain priced eatery selection here on the expensive strip of San Diego properties. Prepare for a very long wait especially on a holiday weekend. The wait is tamed by the locale's excellent weather and eye candy. The nearby coffee hut helps takes the edge off of the wait.

The pizza is really really good! Such a quality pizza compared to something like papa johns. The crust, the toppings, excellent! The prices seem to impact how often I might dine here compared to ordering papa johns ($32 for an 18"), but really, an order for two large pizzas might come out to $40 anyway and won't be nearly as tasty. Really, there is no comparison. If you're thinking, ehhh, I don't really feel like pizza (like I was tonight), dont worry, this place is an outlier in the industry. The spinach salad with poppy seed dressing and walnuts was incredible as well. Two pizzas of pizza and half of the salad for me and I'm stuffed with 3/4 of the pizza to take home as leftovers. Also, the view is really amazing. I've lived in sd since 2002, I'm still impressed! Our server (Iris) was polite and attentive to our needs (she came with water refills and the to go box automatically without us having to ask) but what really impressed us is that there was a minor mistake that didn't really affect our night, and she came over and explained it, apologized, and took ownership of fault. Because of her being cool about it and apologizing, not only was it not a big deal that out pizza would take ten minutes longer, but we just thought it was really considerate to come and apologize nicely and keep us informed and not try to shift the blame. I witnessed a few other servers who seemed to be friendly with their customers and even the busboy (i think? or maybe a cook? - bearded dude with an apron) was thanking and greeting people with a smile as they left. Overall it wasn't a cheap night, but a much better value than a cheap dinner! Also, parking is a non-issue, we started in little Italy for dinner and decided to try Coronado after driving in circles looking for parking for too long. It's nice to walk to the pier behind peohe's for an incredible sd skyline view after dinner too!

the service is horrifying and not worth even venturing into the food; order Pizza Hut in the comfort of your home and you will get better service; get accuracy; and results when you complain that your entire pizza is made incorrectly. After waiting over an hour for a "corrected" pizza; we never got it and were basically told that the order would be cancelled (not at our request). Disgusted by this establishment. There are so many great Coronado restaurant establishments; this is subpar AT MOST.

Thanks Village Pizzeria...you saved my Mastercard and your manager kept it for me as I forgot it at your restaurant. I've never been to Coronado Island. Some of us drove from our hotel in downtown SD while some of the others wanted to ride a water taxi out to the island from downtown. Driving over, we got to the island and the ferry station in about 20 minutes. My friends who took the water taxi made it over in about an hour and 30 mins. We had to kill some time waiting for them so we sat and watch the football game at this Village Pizzeria (I know there's another one we passed up by the Coronado Hotel). This location had pleasant staffers, a nice view and was a nice place to kill some time and catch the football game (they should of at least turned up the volume). The food was somewhat ok NOT that good...the garlic knots came out cold and hard but their pizza was decent. I tried the speciality beer which was a pale ale. Sorry...too much for me, didn't really like it. A good place to relax on the island if you're looking for a place to get a quick bite before your ferry boat ride back to the mainland or to kill time. Our waitress was super cool and didn't mind us chilling there even though we order some items off their menu.

The food is good but be prepared to wait specially if you're with a larger group. Came here with a group of 10 to carbo load. The next day was the Superfrog triathlon at Imperial Beach. I ordered the pasta Pomodoro which came with garlic bread. the pasta was cooked al dente and the tomatoes and garlic olive oil was on point. I left full but not weighed down. The garlic bread was good but ideally wanted to try the garlic bread knots. Perhaps next time. I did get to try the Hawaiian pizza ordered by a friend. It was okay. Service and seating was reasonably fast. Surprising considering it was a busy Saturday night. Unfortunately, it took a while for the good to be served. Pizza came out quickly as well as the fries. The pasta took the longest to arrive. Servers were friendly and attentive. Good food but be prepared to wait!

This place was good. I thought the menu was crazy and made me nuts looking at it. But the pizza tasted really good. Huge slices too. The front door host was really nice and her and the guy worked hard and fast to move tables around to get at least half shade for my baby's. Great $4 pint of the month even when they ran out they gave me any beer for $4. Garlic knots were ok to snack on but didn't get much flavor from them. I would do this place again. I would say 2 things they need to change is 1. The menu 2. Extend the shade all the way to the wall so everyone is happy.

Nice semi outdoors place on the island. The menu is large and so are the portions. I liked the food and service. It's real close to the ferry dock so it gets busy, plan ahead.

I had a pretty good experience at this place once we were seated. I wasn't a fan of the hostess. She didn't seem at all confident about our wait time. She also didn't want to seat anyone in the really sunny tables. Honestly if the sun is a problem, you should have umbrellas that you can open and close as you need to. After we were sat it was smooth sailing. We got a really good seat with a great view (there are a lot of those). My bf and I split a pizza and an appetizer. the food was pretty good. Didn't find anything too special after one visit. I will definitely return if I am in the area.

Village Pizzeria uses NYC water, at least, that's what they advertise...Cause NYC is known for their water, right?! I might not use that line. The Ferry Landing location IS good. The food is good. The service, not so much. I manage to get the staff's names before I'm left stranded at a table waiting on someone who isn't doing their job. But I've seen others suffer. They used to have portobello fries (battered fried portobello mushrooms, served with ranch dressing and marinara, so good!) but they changed processors and the new place couldn't get it right so they are off the menu :(. The pizza is decent, the slices are huge, the crust is good, the sauce, it's not greasy. The wings are good, spicy but not too spicy. The Mediterranean salad is good, ask for the dressing on the side. JUST went to place my FIRST ORDER EVER ONLINE (because they didn't pick up and my call was dropped while listening to their automated message) at 7:30 and was contacted by the call center guy, was told they are CLOSED, and my credit card was charged. Their website says open until 9pm. Upset because they should change that online and when you go to order, it should prevent you from ordering. UPSET!! I wonder if I'll even get a refund. I was REALLY craving pizza. :-( Call center guy was very nice and very apologetic. Only because he was so nice will I think about ordering in the future. -Unhappy Nado resident Ps. It says OPEN here on Yelp too.

This is a great family oriented place with terrific views. Pizza and service was not exceptional but to be expected for a pizzeria. The pizza was over priced but they almost need to charge that in order to pay for the real estate . I recommend you come here for pizza and some beer with the family. But don't think because its a pizzeria the tab will be lower than a normal meal.

Wasn't a fan with my original review, but living in Coronado I had to give it a second go, with recent visits from both the take-out line and dining area I have been satisfied with the service and the food that was served. Meat Lovers Pizza was cooked perfectly and the ratio of different times of meats was evenly distributed. The thin crust was golden brown and crispy. Caesar Salad with no grilled chicken was perfectly mixed. Service was still a little slow but the waitress was friendly and got into her groove once she started serving.

Antipasta salade - family size= HUGE though we ate the entire thing between 6 of us over dinner and then late breakfast the next day. Pizza was good. Toppings fresh. Pepperoni..gigantic haha Wings were good Great price for everything. We ordered 3 pizzas a family sized salad and wings and it was only $100 Had everything ready for pick up when I came by and had no troubles at all. I do think I have been spoiled by garlic-y crusts from my local pizza place in town though. Village's was crispy and good, just not extra fun flavor.

Terrible pizza tonight.. I did call and report to manager.( who is going to follow up with employees.. ) We ordered extra cheese and the employee had to add cheese after we opened and looked at pizza. We get home and barely any sausage and a couple mushrooms.. Crust was too dry too. Sad to have a friend in from out of town and can't get a good pizza.

While staying in Coronado for a week, we ate here twice. Loved the pear salad, pizzas, and chicken alfredo was the best we have ever had. The view is awesome too - kids just played on the beach until our food came. Service seemed fine to us. Already missing it.

OK so we rolled up to this place with about 35 of the 49 Motorcycles in our group ride. This alone should have freaked out the staff. We came in and asked for a table she said how many we said about 30 !she asked if we had a reservation I said No! But they put several tables together and were able to accommodate us on such a short notice (No Notice). Cool we ordered a crap ton of Pizzas and beverages, The appetizers and drinks came out promptly. We ordered at out table Mozzarella sticks, Garlic fries and fried artichoke hearts, all were pretty decent. Then we ordered 2 large Pizzas, This is where they shine ! The "Spinach Ricotta" was amazing it had fresh Mozzarella, ricotta, fresh spinach and kalamata olives. we also had a "Napoli" with olive oil, garlic Parmesan, fresh Basil and fresh tomatoes. I must say the Pizza is excellent ! My hats off to the staff for taking care of such a large group on such a short notice, Well done : )

I came here randomly with a friend on a Saturday night. We were seated outside and service really kinda sucked! We were ignored for a long period of time, and when we asked to split the check, our waitress kind of gave us attitude, saying we should have said that before we ordered. Like people don't do that... come on waitress lady.... Anyways as for food... it wasn't memorable. The time I went with my friend, we shared a pizza and lasagna... meh. Before that my friends and I shared like 3 pizzas.. meh meh meh. Blah.

SLOW service. Rude servers. The servers were in the back eating then touching our food. So gross! We waited almost an hour for pizza and every staff member we encountered was rude and acted like we were bothering them. Disappointing

Mmmm, I'm so happy the Hubs brought me here!! We had a "date day" today on Coronado Island. After hitting up the Dog Beach with the Pups, we headed out to grab a bite to eat. He'd heard Village Pizzeria was good, so we went there. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't super-crowded for a mid-Sunday when we got there, but it filled up shortly thereafter. It's got some kinda fun kitschy gangster/Mob type regalia up -- license plates that say "Capone" etc. Good comfortable chairs. Our waitress came promptly and had them make a fresh pot of coffee for us -- a promising start. She was pleasant, not overly bubbly, but good service. I let the Hubs order, so he picked the calzone with 2 fillings of your choice -- I picked portabello mushrooms and he picked a chicken sausage. The coffee was good.. . . not too strong, just nice. The calzone . . . was amazing. It was a big boy, so we had decided to split it. It comes with a side of house marinara, which was warm. The calzone itself was really aesthetically pleasing. . .it was golden brown and appeared to have had an egg wash. . . shiny and yummy. We divided it up and chowed down. SO GOOD. It had just the right amount of cheese to filling ratio. The mushrooms were perfect and fresh. The chicken sausage was a perfect complement to it. I've been wary of chicken sausage in the past, since I've had some that just tasted weird, but that wasn't the case here. Just the right amount for 2 people, great service. I definitely want to come back and try one of their white pies with some dark beer. . .and the Hubs.

According to the pizza box, the dough here uses NYC water - did the dough taste special? Not that I can tell, but was it good? Yeah, the pizza was great. Ordered 2 slices of Hawaiian and 1 Napoli whole pie. Both pizzas were good, doughy, and full of flavor. The Napoli pizza is like your typical magherita pizza - tomato, basil, cheese, but the addition of garlic made it much better. Ate it outside of the store on the outdoor seats because we had 2 dogs with us. And it was nicer to sit outside.

The place is a great location in the ferry landing area on Coronado island. It has a great view toward the water and nice to be sitting outside to enjoy the breeze. We order pepperoni pizza and lasagna. The pizza was quite oily from the pepperoni. The lasagna was okay with too much cheese in it. The food kind of take a while to come out and the waitress was slow in getting our check. Other than that, i would definitely come again, maybe try a different pizza topping.

Don't usually comment but....we were told we needed to leave the strolled for our grand daughter outside the front. While doing it the shift manager Sat the people behind us without a wait. She then told us we had a wait of ten to fifteen minutes. Her excuse. Didn't have or name although we were only four feet away. Lost my temper with her and told her we will never come again. I am a local here. Just wondering how she treats others here.

Weirdly the pizza was excessively tasty. I was expecting predictable mediocre quality and taste based on all other pizza places, but I was wrong apparently. Pizza was really good. We didn't expect it and ordered just a 10'' for two adults and a baby and ended up fighting for the last piece and picking up every crumble from the empty plate and whatever the baby dropped accidentally. Unusually tasty. Very satisfied. Very professional staff. Highly recommend. Corrections after the second visit: Went there today thinking that it was too good to be true last time and we were right. First time was a different shift or just a glitch. This time pizza was completely average and we didn't even finish it. Even the tomatoes were cut differently. Too bad. Could have been one of the destinations. We are not coming back.

I really enjoyed this place! Came here for dinner after riding the ferry in from down town San Diego. I loved the outdoor seating area and it was a cold night and I got to sit comfortably underneath a heater that was set to the best temperature and felt amazing. I thought the pizza was delicious, the garlic knots were amazing, and the waitress was sweet and attentive. I loved this place and will definitely come back again! Oh ya,the view was gorgeous. We could see the harbor, boats, and the down town skyscrapers. I highly recommend it! Not too expensive either.

This restaurant has a good location and a beautiful view to enjoy, but their food and customer service really lacked. We ordered the "party size" antipasto salad. We had six people in our group. The salad came out in the big foil serving platter as expected but the salad just looked like a cheap prepackaged salad you would get at Vons. The meat looked like cheap deli slices, and the large chunks of cheese were not great either. This wasn't even my biggest issue with this place. We were sitting on the patio at a table and chairs because we had a large group and bikes with us, so sitting inside just was not an option. I went inside to ask for some serving utensils so we could serve the large salad, and she stated that they only provide those serving utensils if you are sitting in their restaurant. She gave me a regular fork and that's the best she could do. I went outside to try and serve our group with a fork, obviously this didn't work. I went back inside and begged her to let me use a serving utensil tongs and swore I would bring them right back. Keep in mind, these are just regular plastic servicing tongs, but I assume they are worried you will steal them since you are not sitting in their restaurant. She reluctantly eventually allowed me to use the serving tongs. I just couldn't believe what a hassle that was. We also ordered bread sticks which were tasty and my husband and dad enjoyed their sandwiches, but overall the experience just wasn't worth coming back.

Hubby and I come here a lot, especially when we crave fries. Their garlic fries are delish! The view is good and so is the food. We've ordered the crazy huge pizza when we have a group and it's definitely more than enough. Another favorite is the garlic knots. We haven't had problem with the staff, so I'm sure it all depends when you go, to those complaining of them.

Stumbled into Village Pizzeria while walking around the Ferry Landing. I was very glad I did! We got seated a few minutes after the place opened, and there were plenty of seats available. The view was quite amazing, right across the bay from downtown San Diego, and we could watch the many sailboats and ferries floating past. I got a calzone with pepperoni and meatballs, and it was the GREATEST calzone I've ever had. It was f'n DELICIOUS! I'm craving one again right now! Girlfriend had a turkey pesto sandwich which was also amazing! Saw some other folks ordering some pizza and cheesesticks and it looked very, very good. The smells and tastes of this place were very appetizing. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars was the service. Not too terrible, but not great either- took a few minutes from being seated until our drink orders were taken- and no Sam Adams draft, boooooooooo. Did end up getting a local beer and it was pretty tasty. By the time we left, the place was almost fully packed, so obviously a lot of locals were stopping in to grab lunch, so it must be pretty decent, or that it's the least expensive place to eat since it is on Coronado. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good, hot food, especially if you're going to hang at the Ferry Landing. Nice place to enjoy the San Diego weather and scenery, and a great place to grab a pie or calzone.

Amazing pizza, friendly servers. Watch out for pigeons getting onto your tables and ruining your food. We lost a pizza to a group of pigeons (they refunded that pizza). I'm sorry there should be methods to protect patrons from birds. We ate outside obviously.

We had family in from out of town and gave this place a try. The service was good, but for an italian resturaunt on Coronado island, I was expecting more options for pasta than tomato sauce and meatballs. I tried the eggpland parm and my friend had the chicken parm and they were so SALTY we could barely eat it. My wife's pizza was OK, but nothing special. Not going to rush back to this place. A few nights later we ate in Filippi's Pizza Grotto in Temecula, our regular italian resturaunt, and were happy to be back.

Yuck. Pizza is not good at all (meat lover and tomato basil type) and garlic bread is worse. Service is slow (maybe because I was sitting outside?), prices are steep considering quality of pizza, and parking is difficult. Other important info: n/a.

While boating in the bay we spotted the guest dock at the Ferry Landing and it was nice with good tie ups and bumpers. We were checking out the restaurants and picked the pizza joint for a bit to eat and a beer or two, dont tell the Harbor Patrol. We had a couple of salads, a very good Calzone and Coronado's own brew. Our server was nice and very helpful. The prices are fair considering your at tourist spot with a bay view, if want cheap pizza go to El Cajon and have a great view of trailer parks and apartments while eating. We will make this a regular stop when boating the bay!

This place is right when you walk off the pier from arriving off the Ferry. This was my first time at this restaurant. My grandmother had heard that there was this pizza place using New York Bottled water to make the pizza and had been interested to try it out. Which thus, made me interested as well. I was ordering to-go (to bring the pizza home for dinner) and I found the waitress/hostess/cashier to be very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They had a nice selection of 'red pizzas' (with red sauce) as well as "white pizzas" (non-marinara sauce pizzas). They do in fact use New York bottled water to make all the crust for the pizza, and thus the pizzas are all made with the "NY style crust" and/or you can order "thin crust" and they also have an option for "Sicilian Style Crust" (pan crust w/ Sicilian sauce) which was a couple bucks extra for that style. I was there during their 'happy hour' which would have been great if i was dining in and ordering just a slice ($2 slices and great deals on beverages) but I ordered "The Works" (pepperoni, sausage, olives, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers) in Large and it was about 25 or 27 bucks for the Large pizza. Very decent size and tasty. My family enjoyed the pizza as well, but we don't know that we noticed that big of a difference in the pizza crust tasting like it came from NY. I noticed they also had an 'extra large' pizza for like $48.99 or something? They seemed to have a nice array of pasta dishes as well (ravioli looked good) which I'd be interested in trying out next time. I ran into a fellow who said he always comes here 1x/week to get pizza. Overall, I think most people would find the pizza a little pricey (if you are comparing to Dominos or some place like that) but it is on the Coronado Ferry Landing, and well..Coronado ;p But if you compare to like BJ's Brewery ...then you are paying a few dollars more.. They did have a nice array of choices (i.e. The Works, Hawaiian style, The Californian, The Islander, The New Yorker, and lots more). I'll have to hit this place up for happy hour the next time I'm back in town and try some of their other pizzas. Website: nadolife.com/villagepizz…

Went on a Friday night around 830pm so we had to wait....kind of sucked that there weren't any benches for us to sit on while waiting but whatever. Once we were seated, it took a few minutes for us to order but once we did, our waitress was nice and helpful. The pizza was really good (simple pep and mushroom) but we went with the 18' but wish we had gone with the 28' pizza (massive but good for a fam of 5 with some leftover for breakfast). Their own brand of crushed pepper was exceptional (we ended up buying one for ourselves). Buffalo wings app was ok, nothing special. Good variety of wine and beer so that was a plus. Would I go back? Sure. Would I rant and rave about this place for anyone I knew who was staying in Coronado as a "must go to place".....not really.

This is the best place in Coronado. We have been coming to San Diego often from LA and regardless where we stay in San Diego we make it a point to eat here. The food is great....pizzas.... You will like all of them, pastas and salads are good as well. The service is friendly and always ready to help. Don't waste your time in a stuffy Coronado restaurant have a pie and then go see the town. You would have saved some money to have a drink or dessert at the Dell. You won't regret it!!!!

Taste: 3 Value: 3 Service: 2 From the smell and the popularity, I expected this place to be a hit, but away unimpressed. We ordered from the to go menu and sat outside to eat. Spinach salad, bread bites, and the New York pizza (sausage, pepperoni, peppers). Of the three, the salad was the best. It came with a raspberry vinaigrette and had a good portion of salad and toppings. The pizza was okay. The toppings and taste were okay, but the pizza tasted overcooked with the crust being fairly hard. Also, they cut it into 4 pieces instead of 6 (no deduction for this). The bread bites were dry and were only edible with marina. I'd much rather have an Oscar's breadstick.

So my girlfriend and I ate there yesterday because I had a coupon but we weren't able to use it but I'm so glad we ate there anyway cause the food is awesome the portions were huge and the service was great. The servers were very attentive, kept our drinks full and were very friendly. Didn't have desert cause I had no room "Which never happens" but I asked what they served there and it all sounded so good. Also asked if there was a kids menu which they have but not sure whats on it as of now, but I can't wait to take my girlfriend and the kids there soon. BTW if you love San Diego you can't beat the view from their patio dining. FYI you might want to split the food if your wanting to have desert after, which is what I'll be doing from now on.

Food was ok but I remember this place being a gift shop. I think it should of stayed a gift shop. The pizza was ok but rather thick in the dough. The pasta was over cooked and rather mushy. I guess I got spoiled in Italy and having the real deal. I paid way too much for what I ordered but it was luck so thanks. Do something about the DAMN PIGONS. That is unsanitary.

Bought a coupon off restaurant.com and thought it would be fun to take the family. The atmosphere is great...who could pass up a bay and downtown view? Our server was friendly but forgot to check on us for refills. Our food came qucik which was nice because we had two hungry kiddos. We ordered the garlic fries which were a bit too garlicy (is that a word?) but still tastey. My husband and I shared the small antipasto salad which was good. We ordered the sausage pizza with the orginal NY crust. I liked the crust and the sauce but the sausage tasted like chorizo which was a little odd. All and all we had a nice experience and would go back.

In this economy, a good bargain is much appreciated. The lunch special here is absolutely fantastic. Being a slightly snobby foody freak - I have to say that my green salad is still in my mind now. It was composed of the freshest tastiest ingredients I've had in a long long time. Salad dressings are homemade and not run of the mill. Pizza was good but I was so blown away by the salad I can't really remember it. Free refills on cokes too! I recommend sitting outside. Bathroom is in the back and a bit off the beaten track so escort your child.

Mmmm, good eats in a great location! My husband and I walked up from the beach to share the pear gorgonzola salad and the Billy Goat specialty pizza. It was a little pricey, but that's Coronado I guess. Anyway, they were both delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and fun and the service was great. You can only get served alcoholic drinks inside, which is kind of a bummer, but the waitress says that's common in Coronado cuz licensing is really difficult. Also, I didn't think the garlic knots were that good. I really like buttery garlic knots with lots of garlic and these were not so buttery and were served with marinara sauce. Maybe a garlic sauce to go with them would do the trick? Anyway, I still thought the pizza was fabulous! Great crust!

The first thing that caught my eye was the selection of beer, mostly local. It was my first time so naturally, I bought their theme dish, pizza. Many good selection, so I picked the works. This pizza was bursting with flavor, I couldn't even taste the sauce. The downside, I manage to take a bite with just the sauce and was a little too sweet, I'm not sure if they added sugar or used a certain sweet tomato, but it turned me off. Other than that, the food, service and beer were up to par.

I'm surprised this place has so many 1 star ratings. The service isn't that great but it was decent. If you come here you must try the pizza fries they are awesome. This is a great place to take your out of town guests for a great view and decently priced food. The secret is to get a $25 gift certificate from restaurant.com for $2! We did that so for a $45 tab actually only walked away spending $22. Pretty good deal...

Pizza is not my favorite, but sometimes you have to make concessions and eat it two days in a row. The service was just alright. I definitely looked down longingly at my empty beer glass on more than one occasion. The pizza was good, but honestly, it wasn't THAT good. A few steps up from every chain, but no where near gourmet. I did enjoy the $3 pints of Palm (beer of the month) and now that I've had a chance to try it, I must say, I will be keeping my eye out for it in the future. Not too hoppy, but not too light, kept me satisfied and cheerful. The view is very nice and we were lucky enough to enjoy it right around sunset. I seldom make it out to Coronado, but I tend to enjoy it when I do. As soon as I got home, I checked my Entertainment book and sure enough, there's a coupon for 50% off a pie up to a $10 value. I also noticed they participate in restaurant.com gift certificates as well. There's so many places on that island that I long to try, I can almost guarantee there's not a return trip in my future. However, If the stars and coupons and company align, well then, maybe, just maybe, I'll be back.

The Funky Fungi Pizza we had was very good. We ordered a 14 inch for the 3 of us, a basket of Mozzarella sticks, a basket of Zucchini sticks, & 3 drinks. All of that for a little over $48. It's pretty expensive, and I'm sure there are pizzas as good or even better & lower in price elsewhere.

This is a pretty good casual sit-down restaurant right at the landing pier on Coronado Island. The view is gorgeous and the pizza was nice. Very good crust. The Rigatoni were also very good and we shared a pear Gorgonzola salad that was also very good. It's not as good as that from Bar Basic Downtown, but it's still good. The wait was about 15 minutes or so to get a table and it was busy. For dinner it might be somewhat chilly if you are in shorts and t-shirt. The pizza takes 40 minutes (i asked to clarify whether she meant 14 or 40 - it was 40, lol) You might want to plan it some waiting time - it can be busy. All in all a nice experience and not expensive. If you like it casual and cheaper, this would be the place right at the pier.

Not bad. Not great. The waitress was cute, nice and friendly. I was really hungry and trying to be good so I thought I would get a salad. But Ireally wanted a pizza. I saw the salad pizza that said something like "(description of salad) all on top of a pizza." Perfect a combo of both! Of course that's not what it was, it was a salad on pizza crust. Which I have had at other places, but they specifically say it's just the crust (I think CPK does this) So I thought this was their twist on that. Oh well. My friend's spaghetti was fine, nothing too special. Next time I will get a kids pizza and a side salad. Or try something new. The best part about it was that the take home box had a coupon for mootime...mmmm!! Oh and the view was awesome. of course!

Hardly a glamorous place. Plastic tablecloths, uncertain young servers, pigeons waddling underfoot. But I cant think of any restaurant in San Diego with a view this stunning, that serves such moderately priced and respectable fare. It's a little steep for pizza, I suppose, but you're on Coronado, for goodness sakes, and you're not shoved to the rear of the plaza either, with Burger King and the trinket shops. Our table was literally steps from the island boardwalk and ferry pier, with an unobstructed panorama of the busy bay and city skyline. It's gorgeous. Their soup and half sandwich lunch special was $6.99. Minstrone came in a big bowl, not a cup, and was chock full of chunky potato, beans and vegetables. Decent bread on the sandwich. A pint of Guiness on tap was $3. Around Phoenix, I'd likely pay $17 for that, with a view of Great Clips or a parking lot dumpster. I'm sure the service can be uneven and it's more of a zoo during the summer, but our server was sweet, the food was pleasantly solid and the value for a bayside table, uncommonly good.

My husband, 3 y/o daughter and I went here to eat often. The carry out service has been great so far, but the dine in service has gotten pretty bad lately. Our servers in the past have served our drinks, appetizers and meals fairly quickly, but now it seems that things have changed for the worse as far as service goes. On Labor Day, we went here to eat. We sat and watched other tables get seated, have their orders taken, have their food served and then have their check in hand before our meals even came out. Our server couldn't even remember to bring us the utensils we asked for several times once our food did show up. Horrible horrible experience. I swore I'd only do carry out service from that point on. My husband talked me into giving them another chance. They failed once again. This time there was literally only a handful of customers in the place. We got our drinks fairly quickly and then we waited a long time for our fried calamari appetizer (which is SO yummy!). We finished our calamari and waited and waited and waited and waited for our food to show up. When the food finally showed up, via a different server, they only brought my food and my husbands food. My daughters food never came. We tracked down the server and she said it would be right out. 20 minutes later we were still waiting for her food. My husband went inside and just told them to pack her food up in a to go box. We couldn't wait to get out of there! The pros: Location and 99% of the food The cons: SERVICE! I also found that the sauce used on the ziti wasn't very tasty. It was very bland. I won't be ordering that again. We will be carry out customers only from now on!

I purchased a coupon from Restaurant.com . I was exciting to try the pizza because they advertise that they use real new york water. I am sad to say that I really did not enjoy the food. I have a crazy accurate sense of smell and all I could smell was mildew...I dont know if it was the pizza, the sauce...but it was something that was on my plate. I couldn't eat anymore.

One star for the waterfront view. This is by far the worst dining experience that I have ever encountered. You have to try to have service this horrible. So my friends and I show up at 9PM on a Monday. We ask the hostess if they're closing soon and she simply smiles, says no, and shows us a table. No less than 1 minute after we all sit down, there are 8 servers around us hustling to put chairs away, wipe down tables, and close tabs for other customers. When our waitress arrives, we ask a second time, if they're closing soon because we don't mind getting our pizza to go. "No no no, its fine! Please stay!" Okayyy..... We start to order... "Could we get the garlic knots to start?" "Sorry we're out of that." "Um... ok, can we get a pitcher of Sam Adams and a glass of your house red." Waitress glances over her shoulder, "Um, we're out of that too." 'Which one? "Both." OMG! What DO you have??? After this went on for a while, we finally ordered an appetizer and a pizza. Our appetizer arrived 15 min later and we realized that we had no utensils and my friend had to get up and go to the servers station to get silverware. The waitress returns and apologizes, "I'm soooo sorry I didn't set the table for you! We ran out of utensils because they were in the dishwasher." HOLY SHIT! What restaurant runs out of forks!? Where is the manager because this place needs to be shut down immediately. This teenager run pizzeria is a waste of great restaurant space and customer's time and money. I have never felt so uncomfortable eating out before and wish we had just eaten at home. Even after wasting an hour and a half here, the food here was sooo shitty that Domino's take out would have been better.

Best pizza place on the island. It's a little more expensive than most pizza places, but you get the quality you pay for. It's delicious! We usually order ours with gorgonzola cheese, chicken-apple sausage and kalamata olives on my half. We've also ordered the pear gorgonzola pizza, which is ok, but has a salad with a vinaigrette dressing in the middle, which is odd. We always get the normal crust--the thin crust is a little too thin and crispy. You're not going to get cheap pizza here, but you will get good, almost gourmet pizza. Definitely the best on the island, and the best I've had from a restaurant. It's a bit loud in the restaurant, so it's not a good place for an intimate talk, but it's a fun night out, or get the pizza to go and have a movie night at home. James and I will not get pizza from anywhere else again.

Great food. Great view. Nice waitress. I really enjoyed our salad, and they had a really good variety of pizza styles and sizes. Definitely left full and satisfied. Would like to bring friends and my girlfriend to this place so they can bask in the glory of Village Pizzeria!

if your looking for a great view of down town with out breaking the bank at the more expensive options located on the Coronado ferry landing then this is your spot. Pizza is a New York style (and according to the menu they bring in water from NY to use in the pizza crust). The selection for toppings is excellent, I very much enjoyed the salami, greek olive, ricotta pizza. I haven't tried the pastas or other items on the menu but the pizza was quite tasty. We had no issue with the service but were there in a bit of an off time. A great place to take out of town guests for a relaxed dinner with a great view. Seating is covered patio so if it is a cold evening, bring a jacket... they do have heaters in the dining area but a cold breeze off the ocean can take a bit of the fun out of it in the winter months.

It looks like they have worked out the kinks since their opening last year. I was here yesterday and we had a great experience. Got seated very quickly. They have a great selection of beers on tap! I was actually surprised at the number and selection that they offer. We had a very tasty pizza and the salad was good as well. Even though they were busy, service was perfect. Since we live in Coronado, we have done Village Pizza for years and I have never been overly impressed. It has always been "good enough for delivery". But my experience yesterday made me a fan again. Especially since the maketplace rebuilt the docks and I can get there by boat! I will definitely be back!

The location is great, the pizza was ok. The sauce was too salty and it came out a bit soggy and the crust was pretty good but not great. The service was very friendly and prompt. I'm not sure I'd come back only because the food wasn't that great and unless I was already in the area and REALLY wanted only pizza, I'd try one of the other restaurants in the shopping center.

Restaurant full but tables open at 630 on a Sat. Maybe that's a problem, as I would think if it were packed it might be a better sign...BUT, the view! The view is perfect of the San Diego skyline. The pizza...just ok. Loved their NY style crust. The meat toppings tended to be overpowering, as I would prefer to get a bit more taste of the sauce. When I did get to taste the sauce, it seemed spicy (which is not a complaint). Go for the view. yes yes yes. Oh, every server, and the manager seemed to really enjoy their job, glad we were there.

I had a great time & our dining experience was great. The calamari was tasty & the chicken wings were good too, we ordered the NY pizza & were pleased, the view to the ocean long w/the great service made the place a "repeat" for us.

I've eaten at this little place twice and enjoyed it both times. It certainly doesn't hurt that it's in a lovely area with a gorgeous view of San Diego. Try their Garlic knots which are excellent - just a bit doughy inside and really good with their marinara sauce. Also try their calamari which I cannot resist. The pizza dough is more like authentic Italian dough than most pizza joints, the toppings are tasty and fresh. This is a nice place to go for a relaxing sunset meal.

We have eaten here several times and it has become our favorite take out italian place locally. It is a bit pricey for pizza and a salad but I would vote this place over Alexander's any day.

There's not that many places next to the ocean that you can get a good pizza. So in an attempt to get me to go fishing, my boyfriend brought me to the Coronado Pier. He loaded up the car with all his fishing poles, tackle box, 2 coolers, lounge chairs, and brought me a book to read because he knew I'd get bored. He even called his friends to come out so they loaded their cars up and even went to Seafood City to buy fresh squid (for bait). Any ways, we get there and I ask him if we can get something to eat before the "long night of fishing" and we head to Village Pizzeria with his friends. Didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised. It was a busy Friday night but only took 10 minutes to get a table. The atmosphere was fun and alive, with lots of families and tourists walking around and the air was a lot cooler (since we were next to the Ocean) compared to being in 100+ degree Eastlake that night. We ordered the small wedge salad which fed 4 people (I'm thinking the entree salad would've been the whole lettuce head!). We order a red and white pizza thin crust. The red with pepperoni, sausage, and their own homemade meatballs and the white stone pizza that had fresh ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Ask for a side of their ranch sauce - it's really garlicy and goes so well with the white stone. We ordered 1 medium and 1 large which we were able to finish. Their extra large supposedly is the size of their 4 top table. The pizza was thin, the toppings were fresh, and evenly distributed on the entire pizza. They also had a pretty decent beer selection as well and available by the pitcher. Needless to say, we were pretty stuffed after dinner, and "too tired" to go fishing afterward (yay for me!) Definitely my type of "fishing."

Village Pizzeria is my favorite restaurant in SD. They have the best pepperoni pizza, cheesesteak, and mozarella sticks I've ever had. Plus, they've got plenty of great craft beers. Also, the ferry landing location has the best view in all of San Diego, and the Orange Ave location is right in the heart of downtown Coronado.

This place is at least 4 stars! They have some delicious custom pizzas and the view is THE BEST VIEW FOR ANY PIZZA PLACE IN SAN DIEGO. Its pizza people, but you are paying for that priceless view of the skyline. Every other restaurant at the landing is much more expensive. They feature coupons in the local paper so pick one up on the way into town. My family lives there and always has a stach on hand.

I went to village pizzeria for the first time, I had half pear and gorgonzola pizza and half spicy BBQ chicken, per the request of my wife. The food was sublime, and the service was on the same level. My servers name was Britta and was friendly and polite, very attentive and knowledgeable. Overall great time.

I don't know why everyone hypes this place up..... I have never gotten good service, and the pizza is sub par. Way to pricey for what you end up with. The delivery service takes a million years so while your waiting for your sub par pizza your tummy will began to eat itself.

We took the kids to go skating at Hotel Del and did no know where to eat? So we took a walk and found this cute cozy pizza place. The service was amazing she took our crazy order and remember everything. Its a great place to bring kids they had a blast. We got lucky and arrived just in time for "happy hour" - $3 red wine $2 slice pizza how can you go wrong. The waitress gave us the whole bottle, now that is knowing how to do business. The portions are HUGE!!! So go there hungry, appetizers was half off - we ordered calamari, yummy. Spinach salad very good. Mozzarella sticks, yummy. The kids each had a huge slice of pizza and one basket of garlic bread and another basket of garlic cheese bread. Yes we had to take food home, but when the check came with two bottles of red wine including tip and tax for 4 adults and 3 kids...it was only $97.00 Now that is a very reasonable meal, especially with doggy bags to go for the next day to eat. We did not order their pasta dish, or we would have been stuffed, I looked at the table around us and the pasta dish were HUGE too. Very family style and YES we will go back for "happy-hour"

The one on the bay is much improved since their opening. The service got it figured out. The food is always terrific-- stellar pizzas and great salads. The Caesar in particular is really good and is a family favorite. Nice hot sandwiches, too, if you're not in the mood for pizza. Can't beat the view. Go for a walk on the bay after you eat!

We had fun at this place. First of all, the food is quite good, we had a number of different pizzas, a mediterranean salad (5 stars!) and a few pitchers of beer.. The deserts are also worth mentioning - first, the italian donuts were VERY good, but they also had a good warm chocolate cake with ice cream on top (good to share with at least 4pp); they have a big screen tv, if you happen to come by on Monday night, but the obvious draw is the view of downtown - it's worth coming just for that. I'm not sure why so many negative reviews, we had a great experience. PS - the girls who work there are very friendly and nice, and happy to be there, which makes a difference

Great view and good food. Can't complain. We had the baked ziti which was alright and the borsehead pie which we thought was really good. Perfect amount of cheese and meat. Between the view and the pizza I have it three stars.

Casual bay front dinner at its best. Hands down the best place on the island to have an unpretentious glass of wine or beer with pizza and enjoy the unobstructed waterfront view of downtown. The cute waitresses are a plus too.

The pizza is good and the view is even better. This is my little get away from home. You can site down and be served or walk up to the take out counter and get a slice to go and sit on the grass watching the boats go by and looking at downtown. They are always friendly and I haven't had a bad pizza there yet. If you go in the evening bring a jacket though, it is partly outdoors and even with the heaters it can be a bit chilly.

From what I could tell this location just opened. If not, I should remove another star. They've got a prime location right at the entrance of the pier. We were a party of 5 total. 3 Adults and 2 toddlers. We decided to have some lunch around 1:00 PM prior to the Ferry Departure. At first glance it looks like a great place. They have a LARGE outdoor patio, but a small building which houses their kitchen, and a few tables. The young energetic waitresses were all wearing the "tight" black tank tops that read "hot pie". At first you're thinking SWEET MOTHER EARTH! Woohoo. That grin on your face, turns sour after waiting almost 40 minutes for food. Especially for the kids. I figured that it would be common knowledge to get the kids meals out first. Instead, they arrived 10 minutes after the adult meals. We made the order simple. Two Macaroni and cheese, with the fruit. What we got was a Kraft Mac and cheese with a Dole fruit cup. By the time we got the meals we didn't much care what it was. I had asked our server to let whoever is in charge know that kids meals have to come first. More of a "general rule". She replied "I put the orders in a the same time! " Nice. Real Nice. I'm going to chalk this one up to inexperience. Both the staff AND the restaurant. They have a PRIME location, with average food, and an inexperienced staff. The young staff served every meal with a side of attitude. Not what I think of when I'm in beautiful Coronado.

Great place, great location, great food! Garlic knots were AMAZING and food was very good overall. The Mediterranean salad was delicious and included a plentiful amount of olives and cucumbers. My husband ordered the cheesecake hoagie and seemed pretty happy with it. Plus, the service was great and the restaurant overlooks the bay. Will definitely go back!

This is typical tourist fare. Pizza was not the greatest. Service was slow, not unfriendly but somewhat detached. No real attempt to connect with customers. Price is typical for high traffic tourist area.

They get an extra star for great big outside seating and peroni on tap. The pizza is pretty good and the salads are massive and good as well. Do not go on a hot day they have this black roof on the outside patio which acts as an oven. It was probably 115 under there. Sweat everywhere, which grosses me out. The food is a little better than so so. You can sit outside look at the water and not pay super expensive prices of fine dining which overall works for me.

My family and I stayed at the Hotel del Coronado and wandered out to get something to eat. This restaurant is literally less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We got there early for lunch as the night before it was packed. Our waitress was very good and always on top of things. She recommended the pizza and we got the NY style which they are known for. I have been to NYC numerous times and would say that the pizza compares very favorably. The crust had a nice crispiness to it and the toppings were excellent. Overall, our experience was very good, and I am drooling just thinking about the pizza right now!

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL pizza. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP ingredients. Don't bother folks, go to Alexanders (or even Domino's!) for a better pie than this disgusting place. Better yet, try Vigilucci's or Il Fornaio for quality pizza next time you're in town. My family recently moved to Coronado and I wanted to try this place out. Heck, the pizza's on paper look pretty delicious. I ordered a large "white" pizza with mozzarella, ricotta, sundried tomatoes and garlic. Pretty simple. When we got the pizza I was surprised that the amount of oil underneath pizza hadn't eaten a hole in the box that was carrying it. My hands were fairly oil-moist after receiving the box from the delivery person. When I opened it, I about had a heart attack just from seeing the lake of oil sitting on top of the pie. After mopping up the oil with paper towels, I was left with a rubbery, soggy round pile of mush. Now, my family loves pizza and we normally can polish off a large even if it's so-so. This we could not. In fact it was left half eaten and went straight into a dumpster down the street because it was making me and my family nauseous just seeing it in our trash can. I here the owner of this place also owns a Beach grill/deli and a BBQ place. Obviously he's rolling in the cash because all these places are located in heavy tourist traffic areas in Coronado. Don't bother folks, these restaurants are a trap and you'll regret that you ever paid so much for so little quality.

i have eaten here twice now and love it! first of all, the view is fantastic. and to have the view at a moderately priced location is great because usually you "pay extra" for something like that. the pizza is great. i am surprised this place has so many mixed reviews. however, i just had pizza, salad, and lasagna from here so that is what i base the food review on. service is always great. on saturday night my husband, daughter and i came in with our aunt who is from out of town. we wanted to sit and enjoy the view and eat slowly which as a former server, i know can bug some because we "take up the table" for so long. tyler was our server and she was great. she didnt rush us to order and let us take our time and talk. pitcher of beer special for 12 bucks! love it! pizza is always great. we love getting goat cheese on it. salads are good. i love getting the entree size and sharing is among our group as a small app. all in all, this my go to restaurant when we drive to coronado (i live in north county). great food, good atmosphere, good service, and one of the best views. i will keep coming back!

The pizza and service are decent, but the reason to come here is to enjoy a meal on the waterfront. It great option if you are looking for a cheap place to eat with a view of the bay, or need to feed a family.

My husband and I came to Coronado for our honeymoon and were very pleasantly surprised to find Village Pizzeria. The calamari and pizza were delicious and service was great when we went there for lunch. The 2nd time we went there, food was still great, but like alot of the other reviews, the service was not the best. The host was great but our waitress took awhile to get to us. She did acknowledge us but told us she'd be "right back" to take our drink orders and it took her about 10 minutes to actually come back. We watched as she scuttled around taking other orders and getting people's bills to them and back to them before she actually came back to take our drink order. After that it took her awhile to actually take our real food order as well. Luckily the food was sooo good it kinda made up for the service. To this day my husband and I talk about Village Pizzeria and when we can make another trip back there again.

Celiacs and anyone who is truly avoiding Gluten because of medical necessity, I HIGHLY encourage you to avoid this restaurant as a Gluten Free option. I don't write very many negative reviews as I do understand that many restaurants cannot guarantee that cross contamination will not happen. However, I can say that there are several restaurants out there that I have been able to eat at multiple times without getting sick. I am a highly sensitive celiac and can tell if I've been cross-contaminated or thoroughly ingested gluten by the amount of pain I'm in and the amount of time it takes me to recover. Let me make something VERY clear, I couldn't believe how uneducated our waitress was in regards to gluten allergies. When we walked in I asked the host to confirm that they were comfortable accommodating someone with a sensitive allergy to gluten. The response was "yes, we have a gluten free crust and you can adjust any pizza too!". Being a bit pricey and in Coronado, I felt comfortable with this response so we had them seat us. When the waitress came over, I informed her that I am highly sensitive to gluten so I may need her to help me... I asked her to please let the kitchen know that I need them to be very careful to not cross contaminate my food and she said OK. I then asked her if their ranch dressing was gluten free because I thought I might start with a salad. Her response? A confused looking "I don't know, maybe you should just go with oil and vinegar". REALLY?, I just asked her to help me and she doesn't even know or care to ask someone if it is. Now I was nervous. So I didn't order a salad, and just ordered a pizza. I ordered the gluten free crust, veggie pizza with grilled chicken. This has been a safe choice for me in the past at other restaurants because restaurants that offer gluten free pizza don't typically have gluten in their toppings. The reason I'm writing this review is because I became VERY sick after consuming the pizza. Almost immediately I didn't feel quite right (and I should have known to stop eating). But I continued to eat after confirming that it was indeed gluten free. I thought that I may have been feeling a bit uncomfortable because my confidence in the knowledge of our server had been compromised. It's also extremely embarrassing to have to ask them to throw out the meal and remake it, so I didn't want to make a scene. While the food is delicious, they simply are misleading people by saying they can accommodate a gluten free nutritional necessity. They certainly have gluten on their chicken (maybe in the form of seasonings?), and definitely have not taken enough care in training their staff to accommodate properly. The moral of the story, if you are just going gluten free because you think it will help you feel better, and not because of medical necessity, this place if probably fine for you because it's just the toppings that have the gluten and you'll get a much lower consumption amount. IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE BECAUSE OF MEDICAL NECESSITY, do not eat here. I consumed a gluten free pizza and was sick for 3 days as a result. I hope this review helps other fellow celiacs and people who are trying to follow a gluten free diet. Thank you.

I'm not a pizza connoisseur by any means, so I will not talk about sauce or crust consistency, etc... I mean normally we have chain pizza and I'm fine with that. But, I just wanted to comment that our experience here was good so I'm letting everyone know. We purchased a restaurant.com coupon for this place, so that is why we went. Because it is very close to the Hotel Del Coronado, the beach, and other touristy kinds of shopping, I assumed we would be in for more of a touristy type of bland restaurant food with bad service. Overall for the location and price it was very good. If you are a local, or a tourist visiting the "island" and looking for some good pizza, beer, and/or wings you will not be disappointed. The bus from downtown to the island drops off and picks up almost directly in front of it so take public transit. Go a little early, because there was a wait even in the middle of the week. I knocked off a star because the service I thought was little on the slow side, but they were at least nice and even comped a glass of the wine that they forgot to bring. Go to Subway if you are in a hurry.

One of our regular spots to eat we hadn't been in awhile. We were so disappointed to see the menu had changed. We used to get a Hoagie and salad combo for a great price. They still had the Italian sub on the menu so we ordered them & asked for "baked" which was an option on the old menu. We were so happy that the sandwiches were still delicious but we missed having the side salad. We are okay with paying more because we know they are a business and it's worth it for the view alone. Sarah was an excellent and efficient server. We will be back!

First off.. Food is great... Best thing there is the fried zucchini... Second... service was awful... No wait for a table.. That's probably because you are going to wait 15 minutes for a waitress. Once she got there, she took our order and brought out salads. We were very specific on the "create your own pizza"... Pepperoni, Sausage and roasted red peppers... When the pizza comes out, no sausage and tons of mushrooms. My wife hates mushrooms. Very politely I tell the waitress.. Instead of apologizing, she disagrees with me and pulls out her notebook to "fact check"... I don't know whether she wrote it down wrong or placed it with the kitchen wrong but you aren't supposed to "fact check" the customer like that.. The manager was kind and apologized and offered some freebies for our next visit but we are out of towners and left the next day... Then the check came and the waitress charged us for drinks and we had waters. So we took whatever drinks cost out of her tip and left to catch our movie.. Hopefully she "fact checked" her ticket to see why her tip was low and figured out the water issue..

I used to love this place. The view is amazing, the pizza is good and the beer is cold. But the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. The last time we went to this place they messed up everything they possible could. Still, I decided that the place was worthy. Not any more. I like the place so much I planned on having my rehearsal dinner there. I called to get a quote and the woman took down my information. 6 days later, nothing. I called back to see what was going on and the woman said that she did not send me the quote because she was too busy. What? That is a major red flag. When I am planning on dropping thousands of dollars on a meal and you are too busy to email me, your business model obviously has problems. I am officially over this place. One unsent email means no more customer or customer recommendations. Goodbye.

Went there with my family, (wife, kids, parents, sister) Sunday late afternoon. We ordered 2 pizzas. Simple right? They came out and messed up 1 of them. Mom is on lent so needed a veggie pizza no cheese. They added cheese and pepperoni. They apologized and said they would correct it. 20 min later we asked what was taking so long, and the waiter apologized and said they were backed up. My dad is a quiet man, patient also, and was ok with it. Ordered another beer and waited. Another 30 min go by and nothing. Asked the waiter again and he told us he will check and if we want to cancel the order it's ok. We didn't want to cancel the order. We were hungry! Manager comes out and apologized. We said no worries but how much longer? She said its not in the oven yet. They would need another 20 min. Of course that was our breaking point. Even of we had walked out and walked back in and ordered from scratch, it would've taken much less time. Obviously we were discriminated because everyone else in the restaurant got their food ok time. Why would they keep offering us to cancel the order and try to get rid of us? My father was so upset he started yelling in the middle of the restaurant. We just picked up and left. Don't pay for anything. The manager was the worst person or the job. Instead of helping the situation, she came out and tried to pick a fight with my dad. She said it wasn't her fault and if was the waiters. The waiter said it wasn't his fault it was the chefs. If this is the way these people handle customer service, I'm shocked. Thank you for handling it the worst way possible. If only you handled it more professionally, I wouldn't be writing you a bad review.

We ate at a lot of places last week on our vacation, and this place is a no frills pizza place, but sometimes the places serving simple food can turn out to be good. We really enjoyed plain pizza and pasta overlooking the San Diego skyline. We went to a lot of places in search for the perfect fish taco since San Diego is famous for them, but in the end after being disappointed by that this place was a welcome respite.

This is for service (or lack of) mainly The people hired at this restaurant and its sister restaurant Leroy's also in Coronado, are the most non service oriented staff you could imagine. Rude, unhelpful and add absolutely nothing to the dining experience. While I realize this is fast food/casual dining the service here is horrendous. Oh and by the way the food itself is very mediocre bordering on the bland. It also happens to be overpriced. It seems the owner's business model is to serve up overpriced , poor food and cashing in on one-time tourist trade and local kids leagues.

Beautiful location, with an awesome view. This is a great spot to enjoy a perfect day in San Diego... wasn't it for the Spicy Sausage Sandwich or should I say Sorry Soagie Sandwich... The sausage was missing the 'knack' when you bite in it & the garlic fries were missing a little bit of the garlic I was hooping for. I don't know how the other items are on their menu, but I left not as satisfied as I wanted to be. The view and location make it however worth to give Village Pizzeria another try. I hope that my experience will be better than the last one.

We LOVE this place!!! We have been here twice in the last 4 days & the service was QUICK & attentive!!! Within a SHORT skip from The Del, our server gave us her thoughts on wines, was SUPER attentive to our kiddos & our food was out FAST!!! Wish all pizza joints in Phoenix were like this place!!! P.S. L-O-V-E the calamari & Roasted Veggie pizza!!!!!

We had a party of 16- several younger kids. I did read while we were sitting that they had slow service according to several reviews. It definitely took awhile, servers were very nice and attentive. We had several different things to try and check out- pizza, pasta, calzones, sandwiches, and salad. Well everything tasted fine but be aware that the pizza is very greasy and the calzones are double extra greasy. I had the works calzone and I could not eat much more then half because I was grossing out. Same thing for my son and he's 18- kids usually eat everything right? The prices are about right on for such a tourist spot, $16-18 for pitchers of beer. Little pricey but on vacation it is never as bad as when you are home and looking for a decent value. Overall pretty good- just make sure you put a rush on your little ones meals or order apps because kids will be impatient with the wait v

So, once again I sit at village pizza... Waiting. It's not full. The tourists are gone. Our server took forever to even greet us at the table. We finally ordered. Meanwhile, our friends that arrived with us, were already eating salad and had drinks. We got a Pinot noir instead of Pinot Grigio :( Once the family size salad came out, it took flagging somebody down to get utensils to serve it with. Oh, and still waiting on garlic knots. Suppose they're not coming.... Perfect! The pizza has arrived! And it's not what we ordered. Of course it's not. They took it back to add chicken. Came back with semi warm chicken. Gross I've tried this place three times now and each time it seems to get worse. As a local patron, I find it difficult to help a restaurant in the off season that has such dismal service and overpriced pizza. We will not be returning.

Very nice place to grab something to eat after a long day at the beach. Me and a couple friends strolled by here after walking along the beach this past week. We sat outside next to a heater and the view was nice. It was right along one of the busy streets that everyone walks on. The group next to us ordered the BIGGEST pizza I have ever seen. It was literally about 24 inches in diameter. Me and my friends saw that and wanted to get it, but after looking at the price and how big it actually was, we decided not to. It was about $29 for the pizza itself and $5 for every additional topping. They had three different styles to choose from; New York, thin crust, and regular. This place is on the pricy side, but most of the restaurants in this area are somewhat expensive. I wanted to order a pizza on my own because no one else wanted to share, so I decided to go with the pepperoni. The waitress told me that they offered individual slices for $3 that were about the size of a Costco slice. It was good. Nothing special to remember, but the pepperoni's were very tasty. It would have been a lot cooler if we bought the JUMBO 24" pizza. A decent place to grab some food, but not somewhere I would go back to.

Enjoyed our meal, just took a chance and got a table (#49) at the window and view of downtown San Diego. Server Jenifer was personable and seemed to be having fun working there. Food was good and spicey.

Great view. Friendly Service. Outdoor patio dining. Delicious pizza. This place was a great find. We ordered the Pear Gorgonzola pizza and it was hands down the BEST I've tasted compared to CPK and Sammy's versions. Apparently they import water from New York. I don't know any other place that does that. The hostess offered great recommendations and they had a great beer special. Definitely will come back. Would've been a 5 if it wasn't for the pigeons and the flys.

The pizza here was ok. We had 5 people and got talked into their giant 28 inch pizza. It's really our own fault for not being able to visualize it but None of us realized how big it would actually be but it's huge and pricey ($50!). That would have all been totally ok but I felt like because the pizza was so big they put less toppings on it. I had two slices that literally had one onion and that was the only topping on the whole slice of BBQ chicken pizza. The crust and sauce were good. If we'd had a smaller pizza that had a better topping to pizza size ratio I think this place would have been higher than 3 stars. Worth a try.

Bought a slice from these guys after a bike ride, thought it was neat that they have a "slice to go" service on the opposite side of their sit-down restaurant. Ordered a simple pepperoni slice for $3.51, I thought it was kinda steep for the slice but it was expected due to the location. Amazing scenery and company I was with may have boosted the experience but I did think that the pizza tasted pretty darn good.

We loved the meathead pizza! Great crust! You can spend 3 times as much for the same view at Candelas next door or Peohe's. Service was friendly and attentive.

We had family from out of town staying at the Marriott, first off we could not get the menu on line, so we asked the hotel -- they did not have it. When they finally did get it, the menu they gave us only supplied one phone number (believing that there is only 1 location in Coronado, but there are actually 2) which we called. Upon ordering, we asked if it was walking distance for us to walk over and pick it up. The staff said yes and never once clarified that there were two locations, not just one. Of course, wouldn't you know that the pizzas were made at the furthest location, meaning that we would have to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes for them to bring it to us at the Pier Landing location. We waited and waited. Close to an hour and still waiting, I told the manager in the nicest way possible why their staff was so inept in providing basic information and that this was damaging their credibility as a restaurant. I told him that I would never come back here, nor recommend it to anyone I knew. He didn't seem to care! Really??? I could still go on and on, but you get the drift. I have worked with people in different capacities pretty much all my life and could not understand his apathy! To make a long story short -- we got the pizza about 2 hours later! I will quote another review about this place, "after 2 hours and countless screw ups, it should have been on the house. I will never go here again". Poor customer service across the board. No stars are worthy of this place!

  • Ashli S.

2 stars for the view and decent pizza. Forgetting that it is really expensive for a small amount- you are paying for the view, and that is totally fine with me- it is not worth your time if you are on vacation. There are many other places to eat nearby and they won't rush you out the door. We just tried this place, and we were a little surprised to hear our waitress talking loudly across the restaurant to the hostess about how she went by a table a final time to tell them goodbye again to basically let them know/make them feel that they needed to leave after paying (I know this may be a common practice, but talking about it in front of other customers is totally inappropriate). Then, after we paid and I was still finishing my glass of wine, she did it to us! Definitely not a friendly goodbye. Bottom line, try another restaurant with a view and nicer service. You want a chance to actually enjoy that view, right?

Pizza was over cooked with burnt crust. We were told that's how it is cooked :). Even garlic knots were below avg. Do avoid this place.

Visiting from Florida, we stopped here for a quick bite. Sitting outside enjoying the fresh air with the view of the water was quite relaxing. The pizza was very good.. Very tasty. Salads are excellent, especially a meditteranean salad that my wife said was exceptional. Wings were really good, too.

Love love love their pizzas. Every single bite is so amazing, you can just taste the amazing quality of the cheese, sauce and dough. Their caesar salads are really good as well! I order the entree portion and it's a good size for four of us to share as an appetizer.

over the bridge and in coronado...thursday happy hour with the fam'...$three beers and wines...half off appetizers...$two pizza slices...semi-enclosed outdoor patio seating...menus prompt and a rush to take orders...a round of corona, stella, samuel adams and pinot grigio...crispy and lightly battered calamari great...not small and great sharing...a mound of pizza fries for second appetizer...topped heavy with marinara and mozzarella..thick chew of mozzarella quite filling...must try the pizza and taking a slice of the broccoli white...heavenly chunks of ricotta, sweet white onions and slivers of broccoli not overwhelming...highly recommend the broccoli...a second and a third drink...few staff for such a large space...requires a little flagging to get attention...six pm happy hour end and time for a change...adios!...

We found this place walking down the bikeway in Coronado. Ferry Landing I think is the name of the place. There are a ton of places to eat here, but my husband could see the pizzas on some of the diner's tables and thought it looked good, so we gave it a try. Service was great, the pizza tasted awesome, clearly made with fresh ingredients. I thought it was a fair price for a ginormous pizza. They also have a great wine selection and locally crafted beers.

Great pizza, wedge salads and garlic knots. Awesome view of the Bay. Overall, this is one of the best pizza places in San Diego. The only reason why I don't give five stars, is because on occasion, the service is spotty. Great food though. I keep coming back.

WORTHLESS STAFF! Sadly, I had to go with one star. When I lived in San Diego, I would frequently come here because I thought it was pretty decent pizza...as far as pizza on the west coast goes. I have since moved to the home of the best pizza, but on my last trip to San Diego I wanted to stop by for tradition, and bring some of my local friends who had never had it. Unfortunately I had to apologize to my friends and be terribly embarrassed. We ordered our pizza, large, sicilian, onions and green peppers, and one half with sausage. About 15 minutes later, our waitress came back to clarify our order, "sausage and green peppers, half onions" no wrong. We clarified, unsure why it took her 15 to put our order in in the first place. 30 Minutes later some sort of manager comes baring garlic knots- they had made the wrong pizza and they were really sorry- it was a thin crust. They just started making a new one. 30 minutes later our pizza comes out. Except it's wrong. Onions and sausage- half green peppers. I'm not picky- but my friend can not eat meat for religious reasons. The ones who could ate so our food didn't get cold, while my friend had to wait for ANOTHER new pizza. When that came out- it wasn't sicilian style. Are you serious? They gave us a 15% discount, but frankly, after 2 hours and countless screw ups, it should have been on the house. I will never go here again. If you suck that bad, you should at least comp the meal for me to consider coming back in. Poor customer service across the board.

  • Jen E.

The pizza here is really good and the views of downtown San Diego are exquisite - and if you considering those two things the price is really good. The service, well....it kind of sucks. It's always been slow no matter when we've visited, but lately it seems to be more lethargic than normal. It's also been a pattern that they're out of certain wines on the menu (no Prosecco in the last 3 visits, yet it's still on the wine list?) & it's more common than not to have a beer listed on their board not available. Like I sad before, the pizza is really good. Quality cheese & toppings and better than average sauce & crust. They also have very tasty calamari and delicious meatball sliders on garlic knots. So, I hate to slam them on a rating for poor service, even though it's happened more than a few times. I'm sure it's not every server, but I know this will matter to a lot of people who expect good service when they are patronizing a restaurant. An example of the service attitude: On our last visit (today), there was a non-local high school football on 2 side-by-side TVs that no one was watching. When I asked the waitress to please turn on the US Open on one of the TVs, she "forgot" every time she walked away from our table and then at the end when we were leaving said, "Oh yeah, sorry I never put your show on. It takes 2 people to change the channel, so we just don't. Too much work." Exactly. Though, of course, personal experiences vary. Maybe just take-out?

This place very A-OK. The view from our table was amazing but there was nothing special about the pizza or our appetizer. The service was good but not great. If you want a great place to sit down and have a drink and look out at the San Diego bay, I would recommend any restaurant including this one in the one block area.

NY Style Crust=Bad tasteless, stiff and Bland Mozzarella Cheese=Passable Sauce=Very Salty Pepperoni=Low Quality, oily, all frozen pizza variety taste better Canadian Bacon=awful, tastes like boloney Pineapple=Not Fresh Coors Light Beer=Expensive: Honestly $6 for one Coors Light beer? Sever=Helpful and Sympathetic, she took my pizza back and had them make me a new one promptly...the second one tasted worse Location=Great! Steps from ferry landing Atmosphere=Great Scenic Patio Feel All in all, I have a bad taste in my mouth due to poor/ cheap ingredients.

Your typical pizzeria. Good location, overlooking downtown San Diego. It is so average in every possible aspect , I do not even know what else to add here.

Tried this place after seeing the Restaurant.com certificate. Ordered "The Works" pizza, this pasta that began with the letter "P" (sorry, forgot the name), garlic knotts, and Buffalo Wings. We were told that the pizza would take 20-25 minutes so we ordered garlic knotts AND wings as my husband was hungry. This was over estimated by the waitress as the pizza arrived pretty quick followed by the pasta a few minutes later and then the Buffalo Wings when were already done eating. Very child friendly which is why we chose this place. Great location!

This is a nice place to get some good pizza and a beer. Village Pizzeria has a healthy array of beers to select from as well as a wine list. You can customize your own pizza instead of the combinations offered. It is strategically located right off the beach and the main drag. My only complaint would be the confusion as to why weekday happy hour specials are posted on the weekend outside. The $10 pitcher of draft is what leads us to Village Pizzeria in the first place (that is a HH weekday price). We ended paying $12 a pitcher. If you are an artichoke fan may I suggest the fried artichokes. As always, parking is a chore in the area, so make plans to make whole day of Coronado Island after finally finding parking.

I wish I could have reviewed this place based on the food but after being seated by a less than friendly hostess and completely ignored for 9 full minutes, we got up and walked out. And I mean completely ignored, as in no one came near our table the entire time for a drink order or to even acknowledge we were sitting there. Right as we stood up to leave, a server came by with silverware and napkins and a big smile, but we were done. Funny thing is, she didn't even ask why, she just said "oh, you're leaving..okay."

Six bike riders went here on a Wed thinking this would be a slower time on a beautiful day. We arrived at 12:20 from noon ferry but didn't get out of restaurant until 2 pm. It took them 30 mins to get us drinks and take our order. The group asked the waitress which size pizza she recommended for six of us to have approx two pieces each. An hour later we ended up with a 27" pizza for $40 that could feed half of North Island Air Station. We were disappointed with the service to say the least. The setting is beautiful if you have all day. The final bill was over $85 plus tip.

Worst service I've received at any restaurant on the island. The servers seem to be on vacation as they stand around like zombies and stare out the window enjoying the scenery. They cuss and grab ass and do it all in front of children and elder folk. Unacceptable! My wife and I waited for a take out calzone for about 40 minutes until we called it quits and asked for a refund. The tourist mentality is in full effect here as the management could care less if the customer leaves satisfied. The manager hassled us for at least 10 minutes before he finally surrendered a PARTIAL refund. We've been there once before and this second time will be our last. The food is well overrated. A thin crust tombstone pizza would be preferred 10-0 in a blind taste test. The creed to customer service is non-existent and overall the place just sucks! Save your money and frustration and go to candelas or spiros gyros.

  • Micky T.

The pizza was, well pizza. The service was a lack luster but it is a busy Saturday so I gave them a slight break. Had there been seafood close by, I would not have selected this place. But it was a nice environment and the cost was not that bad.

This place must be doing good business based on their location right next to the ferry landing. That must be the only reason why they ignored us for over 15 mins when my wife, 2 babies and I went in for lunch today. We tried to get the attention of the server but she seemed to be deliberately avoiding eye contact. Got up and asked someone else for help. She said she would get our server. Five minutes later and still no one. We got up and decided to leave. The server who initially seated us was at the door as we were leaving but didn't say a word, acknowledge us or even ask why we were leaving. It's a pity that this place will continue to do well based on the location. We headed over to Candelas instead and had a fantastic meal with great service. This place isn't worth your time or money.

Had high expectations becuase of the yelp reviews. It was okay. We were excited about having zeppole, as you cant find them done right outside if NYC, but when we were told they were made with pizza dough and with chocolate and caramel sauce, we were done. :( Garlic knots were dry and tasteless. The pizza dough was good but the cheese and sauce average. The white pizza had a good flavor, but the ricotta was a bit dry. The amount of wine for the price of a glass was chintzy, but the selection good. Overall, just okay.

You can't beat the location of this place. Service was pretty good and the food was good.....but it was overpriced. But I'd imagine that everything on this "fantasy island" is going to be overpriced. In Coronado -- you pay for the view, the ocean, the location and the sheer joy of being there. Apparently the owner has the WATER shipped in from New York to make the best pizza possible. I believe it. You should try it. Bring your credit card.

First, it's in a great location so you can do a little walking before or after stuffing your face. Great views of the bay, you could take the ferry there with your bike - all good things. The pizza is as close as my wife and I have come across to an East Coast pizza. We tried the wings which we wouldn't recommend but the pepperoni pizza had a nice crispy crust. Service was ok. They didn't refill our waters and food was a little slow coming out. Even the hostess didn't seem like she wanted to be there. But if you're looking for good pizza in a great location, check'em out.

We finally found a pizza that taste like NY pizza that's because they use water bottled from New York!! We went large, 28", four of us could only eat half!! Our toppings basil, tomatoes and feta cheese! Yummy!! This pizza even charmed my 10 year old daughter who rarely likes pizza!! Even my server was great, very patient with all our uncertainities. Thank you Village pizzeria!!

AWFUL! Went here for the first time for dinner tonight and will NEVER go back. There were 3 adults, 2 toddlers and an infant in our party. First, took a good 15 minutes to get highchairs and a waitress to come over to take our order - the place wasn't even busy. Next, the food came out at all different times. Then, when asked to have 2 separate checks the waitress looked at me like I was crazy...and the final straw was the fact that they added 18% gratuity to our check for a party of 6....how does an infant count towards a party of 6?!! Of course, our waitress Elena didn't tell us that...so, she got a double tip for being a lousy waitress. Fussy toddlers meant being unable to look over the bill before adding the tip and signing the slip. What a bunch of jerks!! Way to take advantage of military wives with young children when their husbands are away!

This place is alright. I agree the location is awesome, but the staff is a lil slow and they tend to look snobby. The food is alright. Garlic Knots are tasty and the Greek salads are okay. Me and the boyfriend ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. I thought it was way too cheesey. We couldn't even finish it. The Garlic bread was pretty good.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
