Now remember, this is a take-out review. I enjoyed it very much, especially the chicken, which was tender and juicy as well as flavorful. The spicy cilantro hummus is excellent, along with their lavash, but their lamb was not my favorite. I will try it one more time when I actually eat at the establishment, bc I feel it's fair to give it another shot seeing that meat is probably best when eaten in the actual restaurant. All in all, I enjoyed most everything and think it's a healthy place to eat if you get the proper items. Enjoy!

Good Greek style quick casual food. Very tasty, decent prices, burger and fries about $8. Staff is very friendly. Plenty of options for appetizers and main courses, salads to burgers to kabobs, etc. Burger was pretty good, but the bun tasted even better than it looked, I think it was a Brioche bun, yum.

My girlfriend wanted to eat out on the healthy side for Sunday dinner. Luna Grill was close to the house and we've enjoyed their food before. It was pretty crowded when we got here but we expected it. So as we waited in line to place our order, we kept an eye open for any tables that became available. Little did we know, we sat next to a huge family. We both ordered plates; ground sirloin kabob and Norwegian salmon. Both were really good. I just wish I got to enjoy my dinner. The bench was shared with another table which brought our experience down. The family had little kids that moved around and screamed A LOT. The kids even got close to hitting us. Luna Grill has really good food but the ambiance is really loud and good for families. So if you don't care about eating in peace, this is a great place to enjoy dinner.

I love this place. Very fresh and healthy. Expect to spent $15 for a nice size place of food that is very tasty. Be sure to get on the frequent diner program. In the past two weeks, I have eaten at Luna Grill on 5 separate occasions. The beef filet kabobs are really good. If you are starving and want more food than you can eat, then order the chicken kabob and gyro.

The food isn't as good as I remember it when I went to the Luna Grill in Hillcrest, although that could be because this time I got the Vegetarian Platter instead of a meat dish. I'd recommend sticking to the meat entrees here! On the Vegetarian Platter, I just thought the falafel was dry and the stuffed grape leaves were sour - super vinegar-y. But the service is excellent. A few different restaurant employees that I interacted with were super helpful, courteous and nice. So, in conclusion, the meat dishes are where it's at... and you can count on uber awesome customer service here!

A tale for great food and bad customer service: I love Luna grills food! They have tasty Greek or Mediterranean food and I don't even mind the prices. Today I came in for lunch and ordered a gyro wrap with a salad. Mackensi greeted me when I walked in with a friendly hello! I ordered from her and it seemed like she was talking Sooo fast. She asked me several different questions and was not patient when I had to have her ask me two and three times over again because I didn't understand her. When my food came out a manager handed it to me. She looked upset and unhappy to be working. I asked her politely for an next sauce and she proceeded to snap at me saying that I need to order an extra sauce when I order my meal. Talk about poor customer service. I will be back for the food because it's so yummy but I guess I need to prepare myself for the fast pace rude employees that work on Friday.ps : A+ for the cooks who not only looked happy but produced a yummy meal for me.

I went here yesterday and it was to die for. Just don't die because you won't be able to enjoy there fine food. Really if you are looking for good food and fast at a reasonable price turn to chef Isaac. I cant wait till I try there Gyros Plate. Looks great but in the meantime I can recommend The Chicken Wrap. It was good. Fresh lettuce and all that goes with it was well worth it. Parking can be a tricky, so get there early and you shouldn't have a problem. Take the kids, have fun! Dee Dee

This place is pretty good, great service and food portions are a lot. I got the flatcut chicken plate with carrots and a lentil soup. The chicken was tender and juicy. The soup was spot on with flavor. The staff was great and greeting with smiles. If I had to choose a restaurant I choose Luna grill .

Delia was our server and she was great! Super yummy food too. I recommend the veggie kabobs with spicy hummus.

  • Kam E.

I like this place because they are clean and the food tastes good and fresh, except for the ground beef Kabob!! We had the Gyro, filet kabob, grilled chicken, and ground beef kabob. The ground beef kabob was bland, dry, and thin. Exact opposite of how it should be which is thick, juicy and full of flavors. My suggestion is if you can't do it right, take it off the menu. Also, I don't understand all the fuss about their flash fried carrots. To me it was just like taking sliced carrots dipped in some oil with a sprinkle of herbs. The host said it just depends on who cooks them. I must have got the lazy chef's carrots. So giving 4 stars for the ground beef and inconsistency.

Although I've only been frequenting this place for a few months, I've gotta say, it's among our best NC choices for excellent, healthful Mediterranean food. In a dozen or so trips, I've tried much of the menu, and haven't hit a bad note yet. Excellent salads; the grilled chicken kabobs make my mouth water as I write this, and it's 8:30 in the morning right now! And, if you like Gyros, I'm confident you'll find theirs delicious. Very casual place, fast and quality service unless they're really busy (as you might expect on, say, a Friday night). And even then, it's quite acceptable. Oh, I should mention their baklava: rich and deeply honeyed...mmmm!

I have been a customer of this specific location for over a year now. My first impression of this place has not changed to this day. The customer service still blows me away. Each time I visit the restaurant, I am greeted with a smile and if it's crowded, the employees are quick to wipe the tables and make sure you are taken care of! When I am running errands, its my favorite place to stop by for a quick snack. I highly recommend the hummus, whether you choose the pita bread or veggies, you will not be disappointed. As far as entrees go, my current craving has been the Luna Burger. Its cooked to perfection, and perfect portion size. Instead of making me feel guilty, like other burgers, I feel satisfied! I will definitely continue being a customer at this location!

Food is good here, and usually very fresh. We frequently get the salads, and I would have to say the prices are a bit higher than they should be. Had a few "off" meals from take-out here, but typically worth coming back for. 4 stars for the proximity to my neighborhood, but 3 stars for the prices & the wait.

  • Chelsea R.

It was the first time I've been to this location, usually I go to the one in Hillcrest. It was my sisters first time there and the guy who was helping us , Ricky, was super sweet. He had a great energy and attitude and is the perfect person for that kind of position. Even as we sat there eating in the restaurant overhearing (not the creepy kind) you could tell, or so it seems, that he enjoys his job and interacting with guests. If only we had this kind of customer service at the Hillcrest location. Keep it up kid.

Overall, I'm a fan. The food is always fresh and the folks who work here are very friendly, although sometimes a little scatterbrained. But niceness compensates in a big way for occasional ineptness. (Or would you rather have a highly trained cashier who is a total a-hole to you? Exactly, that's what I thought.) I particularly like the quesadilla with the gyros meat and tomatoes. It's a unique twist on the dish and usually very good. This is a huge quesadilla, by the way. Chicken dishes are juicy and their salads are nice, too. The "feta fries" appetizer dish is basically French fries with some feta cheese sprinkled on top. It's fine but nothing special. The fries are fresh, though, and tasty. By the way, kids eat free on Sundays so lots of families come on that day. So, if you hate kids (and some of you do), keep that in mind so the rest of us don't have to listen to you whine about children on Yelp. Otherwise, for families, it's a very nice promotion.

This is one of my very favorite restaurants, and I eat here probably 1-3 times per week. The food is great, and the menu is extremely flexible in terms of allowing you to get exactly what you want on your plate. Great for vegetarians, low-carb, low-fat, or whatever other interesting or unique meal plan you might be on. The staff here are very outgoing, friendly and satisfaction oriented. Especially Lexi, who took care of me today. She is very knowledgeable and confident in what she's doing, and she always makes sure I have what I need. I strongly recommend the cornish hen here. I had it for the first time about three months ago, and I honestly have a very hard time resisting grabbing one on almost every visit. Both the Salmon and the Gyros are also great. I also occasionally enjoy a Luna Salad if I'm feeling a little jaded on meat. This is definitely a great place for lunch or dinner.

Great California take on kabob joint. Always well prepared and delicious food.

  • Mike S.

I like the food at Luna grill, but it's always messy and need more attention in the dining room. Dirty plates all over the tabes, dirty tables, bathrooms without seat covers and paper towels. Employees hanging on the chairs and chatting rather than cleaning. 2 less stars for the bad dining room. Good 3 stars.

Luna Grill has great food! Plus their costumer service was phanemonal. Matt was the busser and was very friendly and hard working. I will certainly be a repeat costumer.

Has been awhile since I've been here; worth coming back. I think they have worked on service, and finding the balance between fast-food type place and a casual sit down dinner. They've upgraded the décor- much more fun. Bright red chairs with cushions. Whimsical lights. Lively wall paintings. Even the dishes they serve the food are handmade and colorful. The food- nice portions. Fresh and savory. Not your hole-in-the-wall pita joint :-) And did I mention the fries? this is one of those places where it's done right- fresh, hot, and crispy. Worth a shot revisiting.

Amazing Customer Service by Juan the manager who worked on Sunday at lunch time. My order was delayed somehow and 5 or 6 large orders came and went. Very odd situation that had never happened before. The manager took care of everything, got the food out immediately and refunded the meal. Then came by the table to make sure everything was ok. Great example of Customer Service. We will be back again. The food is always very good.

Ordered a Medi Salad with chicken to go. Arrived home to find the chicken appearing cooked but pink and fleshy on inside. This was at 5:07pm am it appeared that no one behind the counter was over the age of 20 including the cook! Ugh thank goodness this wasn't injested by us - so disappointed! Cant seem to post the picture as I took some - also to be fair I did call but was on hold for over 4 mins so I gave up!

I ordered luna grill today for lunch. I was mad craving a gyro so i called in my order ahead of time. They gave me a gyro plate and when i asked them for the gyro wrapped in pita bread they said no. They refused to remake what I had originally ordered. Made me pay full price and all i have is some lamb thrown on top of some nasty rice. I'm so frustrated.

I received a free meal voucher to Luna Grill and decided to give it a try- what a treat it was! My boyfriend and I were immediately greeted warmly by Caroline, who gave us the scoop on all the great options available. The place was clean, had a nice atmosphere, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. When our meals arrived they were much larger than expected and tasted wonderful. It's no surprise Luna Grill continues to get such great ratings!! Highly recommended for a casual, delicious meal. Thanks for an excellent first experience Caroline, we will be sure to return!

My only regret is I didn't try this place sooner. Staff is friendly and fast. Food portions are fabulous for the price point. I tried the chipotle chicken wrap with fries. Fresh vegetables. Loads of chicken (though, a bit dry). Tons of french fries. Drink size is a bit piddly, but who needs that much artificial beverage anyway? Definitely be coming back. Just a solid place, all around.

I love this place! Plain and simple. I'm a vegetarian and this place has a lot of options for me and the location is really convenient.Their tahini is seriously at the top of my list and I usually order extra on the side. Yum yum! The falafel is never burnt or overly oily - I do love me a pita sammich from Luna! While I love the food, the main reason I'm giving them such high marks is that the customer service has always been top-notch for me. Always greeted with a smile. Employees have fun and engaging attitudes. And they're happy to accommodate any random request I might throw at them. And thanks Alex G. for helping a girl get some extra Pita when the line was out the door during the lunch hour, and I was just being a pig and wanting more to go with my salad ;)

Since my last review in Nov. 2010 Luna Grill has grown for the better! The place is as clean as ever. The employees are friendly and helpful. By far the best chicken I have had in a long while. Their chicken is consistently juicy and tasty. One thing that bugs is a dry bird. What really wins me over is kids eat free for dinner on Sundays. That is awesome!!!

  • James D.

Summary: this is a great place and you should give it a try. Good food, proper portions and reasonable prices. Kind expected a sit down restaurant with service. Instead found a walk up to the counter and order kind of place. Ordered four separate kabobs. Beef, two-chickens and one Cornish game hen along with two drinks and two deserts. Beef was slightly over cooked, but the spices were perfect, chicken was right on, Cornish game hen was moist and wonderful as can be. Rice was not as fresh as some, but still a nice addition to the meal. Salad dressing was light and flavorful and the baklava and the chocolate cupcake were both a nice end to the meal. We will be back!

I've never been to any restaurant with this type of menu. I have to admit that this food is great! I've been here a couple of times and tried different dishes. Awesome food! The chicken is packed with juicy flavor! My favorite! The last time I came I I was looking at the menu and was surprised to see a burger. I had to try it. It was fantastic! The fries were crunchy. The veggies were fresh. And the meat was perfectly cooked. Love how every time I come, the food is fresh! No brown lettuce like at other places. Another thing that I love about this place is the staff. Always so polite and ready to assist. Every Time I come I find two exemplary employees: Delia and Ricky. Always very polite and helpful. Great job guys!

It was my first time walking into Luna grill, let me tell you it would make it my last. It was a simple thing really, I ordered and for two people I was about to spend $40 Can you believe at 1:30 pm they had no change to break a hundred. I would of used my card but the cashier was really rude. Guess it was a sign not to eat there

  • Laura M.

This review could easily be four stars because the food is great and usually tastes fresh. However, the service and time it takes to get your order at lunch time on a weekday is horrendous. I have been here multiple times and rarely does our entire table get their orders together. The last time was the icing on the cake where our two friends (who ordered after us) got their plates after waiting 30 minutes and 10 minutes we got one of our two remaining orders and a kind of apology saying that my food shouldn't be taking so long and here's a free falafel wrap.. well I ordered a falafel plate so why didn't they just put the wrap ingredients onto a plate? It took another 5-10 minutes to get my food and by then we had already been out way longer than I like to take for lunch breaks. The manager gave me a $10 coupon but I will be very careful about coming back here during lunch time.

  • David A.

Not from around here but chose this place among the many other choices in the shopping center. The portions were good and the food was really fresh. The chicken was a little bland for me. I would eat here again but would try one of the other places nearby first. If the chicken was seasoned this place would be a homerun.

    (4)
  • Jenn L.

The food here is soooo yummy but the service is hit or miss. I come here probably twice a week and sometimes there is a really nice guy that helps me and sometimes I get the super rude chick. I think I inconvenienced her by placing my order. Sorry lady! The Luna Grill in Hillcrest has the same food and GREAT service!

    (3)
  • Nava V.

I love Luna Grill! The best mediterranean food you can get locally here in Carlsbad. Their food is always fresh, and prepared after you order it. They have a lot of options to choose from, which is great. Kevin is always a great help and a pleasure to see!

  • Tyler A.

My first time eating at luna grill and i was fortunate enough be served by kevin. Since it was my first time here i gave him free reign over my order and he did not disappoint. I had norwegian salmon and gyros plate. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is so good! The food is tasty and fresh. Got the kabob and greek salad and enjoyed every bite! The employees are so fast and friendly and when we spoke to the manager to tell him about the service, he was awesome and so welcoming. Excellent place to eat in Carlsbad, a must when your in the area!!

  • Kiersten H.

This is by far one of my favorite healthy restaurants to go to! The food is always tasty and comes out pretty fast. I love that I can come here on my lunch breaks! But a few days ago I went in an was over whelmed by an employee named Kevin. He seemed to really enjoy his job which definitely put me in a better mood. As I was ordering he was very helpful on what's good and what goes together. He kept up with me and made sure I was happy. I will definitely only ever go back to this location.

  • Leigh P.

Great service and solid Mediterranean food. I like both kinds of hummus and the luna salad (with mahi). One of the better options in the Bressi Ranch area. A few flat screen TVs always have sportscenter or relevant sporting events on. FYI - This place is always jammed during lunch hour on weekdays.

    (5)
  • Dan L.

The food here never disappoints, the service is always on point. Matthew took care of us the last time we came in and he could not have been more helpful. I ordered the falafel and grape leaves. The falafel came out nice and hot and was not greasy. The grape leaves were not too filling and were very tasty. It's to nice to have this option in the neighborhood.

  • Shannon K.

A coworker recommended this place and I went not knowing anything about it, not even that it was a chain (which I now know because I've been seeing them everywhere since going for the first time). I had the chicken kabob plate which came with salad, rice, and your choice of carrots or tomatoes. There were about five small chunks of chicken. They were flavored well, but I wouldn't say it was the huge portion that I read about in other reviews. The "carrots" were two tiny slices that were more of a garnish than anything else. And the rice? That my coworker had raved about? It was terrible! Completely flavorless. I also think that at nearly $15, it was pretty pricey for a weekday lunch. I've had Greek/Mediterranean food that was MUCH better, so I won't be back.

    (2)
  • Craig J.

    Overpriced and boring!!!

    (1)
  • Lisa C.

Caroline is an awesome employee. She's very attentive and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food. I didn't even realize this restaurant had staff doing that. It was great she was taking the time to check on us especially considering how busy they were.

  • Rena M.

I love this place. Their food is always fresh and delicious. Great service too. Thanks Kevin for going the extra mile. So I've recently become a Pescatarian (I eat vegetarian, except for fish). Their Luna salad is my favorite!! It really hits the spot for a refreshing, satisfying and delicious salad. I also really like their vegetarian plate as well, when I want something that is a little more hearty. Now I seem to recall getting an Ono plate there. I was very skeptical because they really aren't a seafood establishment. I was BLOWN AWAY by how fresh the fish was. It was cooked perfectly and quite delicious. I took my 14 year-old son there a few days ago and he is now addicted to it. The only thing I've ever had there that I could suggest improvement on is their veggie burger. They use a giant felafel patty in the burger. It's really, really good in terms of taste, but falls apart easily. I think if they made this a wrap, it would be better (but not really a burger then, is it? :-) ). Oh and the last thing to point out: they have Diet Dr. Pepper in their drink dispenser. That right there gives any restaurant huge points in my book.

  • Kevin M.

Best, softest pita wrap I'v ever had. I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap with French fries. Everything was great. Place is really nicely decorated and well kept. The only thing I didn't care for was the horrendous country music playing inside.

Just went to Yelp's Fright Noght and got hooked up with a full plate of samples from Luna Grill. SOOOOOO GOOD. Like melt in your mouth meditarranean goodness. The kebabs, chicken, beef, rice and sauces were just delicious. Tender, tasty meat, well made sauces, fresh, crispy veggies and rice made to perfection. I really recommend trying this place out, you won;t be disappointed. I'm having gyro meat withdrawals right now....

    (5)
  • Layla B.

Gyro meat yummy not dry. Basmati deelish. The plates are a great deal and the veg is fresh. Wine is 5 and happy hour has 3.5 for beers and wine 3-6 Mon -sat and all day sunday. Generous portions and very clean.

  • Ryan S.

This place is a little pricy until you take a closer look at their menu and find out how healthy it is. I was impressed. Their food is so-so. Nothing great and sometimes border line just okay or below average. Nothing has ever jumped out as being delicious and I've been here a few times.

    (3)

Just tried Luna for the first time and Lexi made it the perfect experience! Thank you we will definitely be back for more!!!

I love this place! The food is excellent, healthy and delicious. All of it. I've tried just about everything. The staff are very professional and friendly. This location even offered free food to the fire fighters in Carlsbad recently.

  • Mark R.

I went there on a week night...not busy at all...half the tables were dirty. I mentioned that the tables were dirty...and they did nothing...45 minutes later...we finished eating...they still had not cleaned one table. One guy was doing his side work...you know refilling the salt and peppers...but that guy walked by all the dirty tables...and did nothing about it. Good food, friendly...but clueless as to how to keep the place clean. Oh...and they had a pair of broken tongs by the drink machine...in case you wanted to fish for a slice of lemon. Like going to a friends home that you like and then seeing what slobs they are. I will give them one more chance...then I will call the corporate offices and let them know what kind if employees they have running their business.

Love having Luna Grill in the neighborhood. Healthy option, and the kids love it too. One of the few places we can all agree on, and the staff is always super friendly. Ricky helped us out today and my son (whose 9), went out of his way to say how nice he was.

    (5)
  • Kevin R.

I heard about Luna Grill feeding the fire fighters and had to stop by and thank them for their kindness. Most people don't know they donated a lot of food to them and deserve a little recognition. I love their food and stop by at least once a week for the falafel appetizer and a beef kabob plate. The meat goes great with the onion and bell pepper on the kabob and is always juicy and never dry. I'm totally hooked!

  • Deia M.

I work down the street and have been here several times, always great. Big, healthy portions. I've had the gyros sandwich and mediterranean salad here, and both are 5 stars - absolutely delish. The salad is out of this world. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Wish I could afford to come here every day! :)

After a horrible day with a Time Warner, my mom and I headed to try out Luna Grilk for lunch.... What a difference in experience with staff and an incredibly awesome meal that was so clean, fresh and full of flavor!!! We will most definitely be back soon!!!

Khalil, Thank you for such great customer service. The Mediterranean chicken salad with gyros was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

  • Ryan B.

Took my wife here for lunch and we had a nice meal. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious and went well with a Stone IPA on draft. Typical for a fast-casual lunch place it was a little on the expensive side ($30 for two people) but with the quality of food I was ok with it. Service here was solid if nothing special. We will be back.

  • Andrea V.

Great gyro wrap and decent draft beer

  • Chris A.

The restaurant overall is pleasant, and the service is great, but they changed their falafel to a "New Recipe" mix that puts the "awful" in falafel. Indeed, it doesn't have the flavor or texture of falafel, but some kind of mashed potato mix from a box with some spices. Just tried it again after 4-5 months of avoiding the place, but they still have this "New Recipe" yuckiness. And the sauce that comes with their falawful is neither tahini, nor tzatziki, nor even hummus, but what tastes like a mix of mayonnaise & ranch dressing--kinda like "special sauce" that fast food franchises put on their burgers. Their other dishes all look nice, but if you're a vegetarian looking for decent (or at least non-awful) falafel, the Greek place over on the corner of Palomar Airport Rd. and Business Park has the real stuff. This place is more convenient, so I'll have to try again in another 5-6 months and hope they go back to the good Old Recipe.

I love this place so much! Great food and great service. I suggest the luna burger! The staff is wonderful and attentive! Lexi was a great waitress and helped us quickly, regularly checked in (but totally not overbearing). It's clean, pretty, and the food is amazing

  • Alysia B.

I want to start off by saying that Matthew is a great General Manager here at Luna Grill. From the moment I came in, ordered, and received my food, he had a radiating smile. Of course the food here is amazing, but I will be coming back specifically because of Matthew. I messed up when ordering, and he had no problem fixing it for me. I highly recommend this place!

  • LOVEPEACE R.

The decor has changed since the opening and the staff is friendly and fun. I had a chicken kabob plate and the chicken was amazing! Can chicken be amazing? Juicy and tender with the perfect amount of seasoning. Not too salty. The music and lighting was perfect and the atmosphere was pleasant. Yea! Can't wait to go back!

Delicious and great service! They even gave me a free drink after I mentioned it was my first time here! Thanks Mackenzie!

  • Leah H.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. First of all, I love the food. It's really good. But the service could use some help. More often than not, I will place my order (and usually before the heavy lunch crowd arrives) and wait for my food. Sometimes it's up to 15+ minutes and often times, people around me are getting their food before me, even when they ordered their lunch after me. That is very frustrating. I should learn my lesson and stop visiting this locale, but I do love the chicken plate (even once it was served to me undercooked) and the white rice is to die for. They also sell cupcakes; red velvet is my favorite. They are from The Cheesecake Factory and super delicious. This place gets very busy at lunch time. Expect to wait a while for your food, even if you arrive early.

Always love this place...a quick place to get a healthy, yummy dish in a family friendly atmosphere. I just about always get the Greek Salad with some kind of protein on it. Tonight I was esp impressed with Alex, he helped us from start to finish. He was very aware, attentive and friendly.

We have been eating here every week for at least a year, and it is one of our favorites! Healthy food that tastes GREAT! But, that wouldn't be enough to keep us coming back...the good folks that run the store put this place over-the-top. Everyone is so helpful, they really work as a team. I've even had managers bus my table with a smile. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Kyle, he is very committed to excellence. Luna Grill, we are so glad you're here!

Ripoff! Food is decent, by for how long they take to prepare 1 plate Togo, along with the nickle and dime attitude, they will never deliver to expectations! Don't be afraid to give a little extra!!! Had to pay for extra tzaziki, got little to no Feta on Feta Fries...Daphne's does better :(

My wife loves this place. We frequent Luna Grill pretty often. I must say the portions are generous for the cost. Sports fans will like the 3-4 LCD's which are usually playing sports. Can get a little loud at times but not a deal breaker. We have always received good and friendly customer service. And I hear they just started to do home delivery. I would recommend this eating establishment to anyone. Enjoy

This Luna Grill is 5 minutes from my house and I seriously cannot stop coming back to it. The place has a stylish, contemporary look. The staff is always cordial. While taking my order, the server mentioned about their special deals - earn 1 point for every dollar spend, and receive $10 credit after I reach 135 points. He then told me to sign up online to receive an additional 24 points. The food was served within 5 minutes and cooked to perfection. The Luna Salad was freshly prepared with spinach, tomatoes, onions, almonds, cranberries, lots of feta cheese and a light vinaigrette dressing. The salad was $8 and I ordered it with gyros. It cost an additional $3.5. There was so much gyros I couldn't finish the salad. Great value for the $3.50 spent. The Bistro Filet Beef Kabob was amazing. The beef was so tender and the size was also huge. The menu lists the amount of calories for each plate and I love that. I really enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. I used to go to Daphnes in La Costa but I haven't been there since I discovered this Luna Grill in Bressi Ranch. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Just heard back from Luna. They updated the info on the other website. I think the staff could have been a bit nicer when declining on Sunday...maybe next time.

Very healthy offerings, magnified by the great customer service and personalized attention by Matt. It was our first time to dine at this establishment and it exceeded the expectations of all in the group, including a vegetarian. The stuffed grape leaves, handcrafted spinach pies and flat-cut chicken kabob were great recommendations and all of us will definitely recommend and return.

I have been to Luna Grill many times for lunch with friends and co-workers and always leave feeling satisfied, but in a healthy way. Their service today was extra-attentive since they had many trainees on staff. From the moment we walked in, my friend and I were greeted by a friendly cashier and after they delivered our food, we were checked on a few more times to make sure we had everything we needed. It made me appreciate the time and effort Luna Grill consistently makes to separate themselves from the typical, quick lunch spots people can choose from. From their fresh salads (my favorite is the Mediterranean salad with chicken and couscous) to their delicious falafel and cupcakes (everyone must try their red velvet), I love coming here and supporting their mission of providing good food and service!

Was recently here and ordered a ground sirloin wrap on their lavash multigrain flatbread. Soooo damn tasty! If you've always ordered it on pita bread, break out of the box and try the flatbread next time, it's sooo good! I called in my order and they were a few mins. late with it, but at least they got it right this time.

I will admit, the first time I ate here (probably over a year ago) I really liked it. Fresh food, decent price, and good service. Since that first time it has slowly gone downhill. Service has gotten much slower, the prices seem to go up every time I go in and the food just gets saltier and saltier until I had to start asking for "light" or no seasoning. Still with all that I thought, at least I can get a healthy meal here when I'm in a bind and can't cook at home. But, after my latest visit I will never be back. Picked up two entrees for the boy and I after working a long day at work and just not wanting to deal with cooking and cleaning at home; we both woke up early the next morning (2am) very sick and remained sick throughout the whole day and into the night. Even now (a day later) I have barely been able to eat, although thank goodness, I'm at least not running to the bathroom every two minutes....

Several people had recommended this place and I finally tried it. The food was AMAZING!! Love the fries, and the meat on the gyro was very good!! I thought the people working there were super friendly, and helpful when asking about their menu. I highly would recommend this place to anyone, and look forward to coming back.

Initially I tried this place once with my wife and we never went back for a long period of time. This place opened before Kebab Shop (that we loved back then when it was only available in downtown SD) and we were desperately looking for decent middle eastern cuisine. ....reason we never went back for a long time was because we didn't think it was anything special.....fast forward a couple years now..... Out friends got us back out here on Sunday because of the kids eat free promotion and we went back again.....wow they must have improved their food because it's actually now pretty decent. Their chicken is always juicy and flavorful (both the kebab and the Cornish Hen...I recommend the latter if you don't mind getting your hands messy a bit) and the beef steak kebab is very excellent. They always give you tons of rice that you cannot finish which is pretty fluffy and a decent salad in all the entrees. Since we had the positive experience and their friendly service, we've been coming back with the kids here and there and found ourselves enjoying the restaurant.

I've been going to the Luna Grill in Santaluz for a long time, up until about two years ago when they had a neon light makeover and started expanding across the county. The unique, enjoyable, and high-quality restaurant turned into yet another generic, forgettable franchise. So, we stopped going. Fast forward a couple of years and we saw that a new Luna had opened in Bressi Ranch, so decided to try it. The menu was similar to what they used to have. Unfortunately they no longer had my favorite item on the menu (a grilled shrimp wrap on lavash). They still have wraps and they still served shrimp so I asked if they would upgrade me to a shrimp wrap. I was shot down and told no. So, I tried their Caesar chicken wrap. It was bland and dry. I wouldn't order it again. The next time I got the salmon plate with a side of hummus, It was very good. I'd get it again. Tip: If you're getting your food to go, I'd recommend calling in advance to place your order. Otherwise, you could be waiting for quite awhile.

This place hits all the marks. This is similar to Daphne's but way, way better!!!! In all respects. Pleasant relaxing atmosphere -- modern, nice lighting, good background music. Very nice, friendly upbeat employees. We both had the chicken kabob plates and they were perfect. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Healthy and absolutely delicious. Prices very affordable. I could eat here every day.

Love this place. Everything is fresh and healthy. Sometimes when I see the bad reviews by people I realize that they're generally because of one small thing that set them off, possibly because they were in a bad mood. I love Yelp, but it seems to give too much power to the angry people. Also, people who are looking for a $5 to $7 lunch bill probably just need to go somewhere else. The only drawback that I can find to this restaurant is that during the lunch rush the parking lot is pretty busy and you may have to drive around for a few minutes to find a space. But, isn't that the same at any mall? I find the Luna Grill clean and the employees very attentive. We walked in yesterday (Tuesday) at noon. There were 2 people in front of us in line, so it took about a minute and a half to place our order. The food was delivered to our table about 7 or 8 minutes later. Our food was fresh and flavorful. I ate about half of it and took the rest home and my daughter ate it later that night. I highly recommend this restaurant. Skip Coomber

Can count on a decent meal here...but its on the pricey side for Mediterranean food...which usually is a more economical choice when done in a take out environment.

My friend lives in the area of carlsbad and we typically visit this location. Had lunch today and wow it was busy. The staff was friendly and there was a little wait but not bad for how busy it was. Food was delicious and pretty good portions as well. I would recommend this place for people who love tasty food and kabobs. We also had the spinach pies and they were amazing!!!

I've been to this place on quite a few occasions between work and home. I'm not sure exactly which ethnicity they want to advertise it as: "Mediterranean" (Lebanese, Israeli, Arab etc..), Persian, or Greek? I've had them all, travelled there as well and can say it doesn't taste like either one of them, very generic in fact. The meat is very decent, as they have grass fed, organic and free range choices. The salad is just OK, nothing more but my harshest review is for the rice. I grew up on rice and I must say this rice tastes like nothing. It tastes like air, neither Persian, Indian, Spanish....nothing I can quite identify and I dread ordering anything with rice, so please take note, work on that rice because Kabob generally goes with rice and if the latter is not good, then you're getting half the story! The combo plates are pretty decent but a bit pricy in my opinion. Staff's always top notch and friendly, and the place is very clean and professional. In spite of the kudos, I think there's room for improvement...Did I mention the rice??

Luna Grill is an amazing restaurant. I have not in the past been a fan of Greek cuisine, but after my lunch today I have to say that the impeccable service by Shane and the fresh fare, I have to say that i am hooked. Luna Grill is one of my "Go To" for catering lunch meetings and events. I've come to know the staff quite well. They are always extremely friendly and helpful. I work quite a bit with Chris (Catering Line) and Tanya (Store Manager). They are both fantastic. Today Hugo delivered for our event. He was on time (early actually) and AS ALWAYS the order is correct and well prepared for easy setup. Thank you Team Luna Grill! Our taste buds and tummies are always satisfied. Jill S. ViaSat, Inc.

I find myself coming here when I'm looking for something light and somewhat healthy-ish. I have a thing for their cornish game hen. The seasoning and texture is just right. And their gyro is not too shabby either. I've been to other locations before, and they're equally satisfying. It's definitely a good option if you're seeking a nice tasty entree but don't have the time for the wine and dine.

  • Paul F.

This place has been losing what it used to have. I think they are starting to use less fresh ingredients. A $9 salad in a casual place has to be top-notch to not disappoint. Apple slices should be crunchy and not brown and not unsweet. The gyro comes out unmade, so you get to roll it yourself. OK, that might be a good thing, but not so much when you get two little pieces of onion and tomato and nothing else, and so you have to ask (and wait for) the harried server to bring you more. Lentil soup was plentiful, but sour and the leftover was nothing we even thought to take home. The place is kind of odd, in terms of flow and ordering. They spend a lot of time letting you tweak your order, but when it comes half of the tweaks you asked for never made it to the plate. So, it suffers from building your expectations and then disappointing. The opposite of what great businesses do. I've eaten here ten times or so since they opened, and we used to bring friends. Each time is less good, the friends never come back, and I'm starting to think I might not either. I want to like this, since Greek type casual food is scarce (Daphne's is their competition, and should be pretty easy to beat, but the barely do anymore), and now I leave thinking for a few dollars more I could go to a more upscale Greek restaurant and get a better value and feel more satisfied. Time for a refresh, Luna Grill!

I find myself coming here frequently with my fiancé when we are looking to eat something light and some what healthy. Our favorite dish is the cornish game Hen and I also have a weakness for their Gyro meat and pita, its so simple yet so delicious. Even though I come here to eat healthy I always find myself over indulging. The service is great and this location has TV's that play ESPN. If you're in the mood for Mediterranean food come check this place out!

Happy Hour!!! Yes, I said Happy Hour. 50% OFF all beer, wine and appetizers on Weekdays from 3PM-6PM... and wait for it... Sundays: ALL DAY. Talk about Sunday Funday! Oh, and Great Customer Service!

  • Phillip W.

"Sheena" from Luna Grill Corporate Offices in San Diego has posted a happy comment stating that Luna often changes up happy hour specials to "keep it fresh and give our customers the opportunity to try different appetizers." But she says they are also working on preparing a "set Happy Hour menu to limit any kind of confusion." Hmm ... that seems like two entirely different concepts to me. Anyhoops ... here's a thought. Luna Grille seems to use wide-screen TVs mounted to the wall above the order area to display various info. How about during Happy Hour, have those TV displays show exactly what the specials are, and what they cost?! Wouldn't that "limit any kind of confusion"?! Wow! And for this level of problem-solving, people go out and get MBA degrees? Hoo boy.

I like Luna Grill and I love their Greek salad with chicken kebab. I have tried different locations of Luna Grill. This one seems to be a good one but the only thing is that it just is not consistent when it comes to the quality of the food. Some times the chicken kebab is so tender and juicy, and other times they are so-so. Lettuce leaves for salad are the same way. Some times they are very fresh and other times so-so. When you have a couple times of so-so, the price seems to be a little high, but I'll still go back.

how am I only now finding out about this place? tried it for the first time at a Yelp event and I was blown away. went to brag to people and only heard more great things about this place! Food is amazing and made from the heart. Service was great! The staff was so nice and happy to talk about the food. From what I have heard service at the restaurant is just as good and very quick. I am so glad there is a location close to hime!

Great food, lamb kabob is awesome. Food takes a little longer to prep, but is definately fresher. Daphne's is a distant 2nd. Restaurant is clean & open, menus are on nice big LCDs. Red Velvet cupcakes are really good too!

Luna Grill is awesome for Tuesday night Kid's Eat Free! If you're looking for a tasty (better than Daphne's) greek/Mediterranean meal, Luna Grill is probably the best local option. Lunchtime can be a bit pricey, but if you order their kid's meals it's about the same portion size minus the salad in the regular entree. Overall, great rice, great chicken, hummus, pita bread. Food never disappoints.

My husband and I were in the area to do some grocery shopping at Trader Joe's and stopped here for lunch. It was are first time in and I was not sure what to expect. Service: Great. Friendly staff and our order did not take long (dine in). Food: Good. I had the Gyros lunch plate - came with basmati rice, salad, pita bread, and roasted tomato. My husband had the chicken kabob lunch plate (same accompaniments). Overall we had a wonderful lunch experience and would came back again.

I checked in here yesterday, what a downward spiral from the location in point Loma. This place almost looked like a food fight took place. When I asked one of the staff, they explained kids eat free...wow, I guess the kids manage the place too! The portions were always a little on small side..add in not clean and over $10...I say never again again I was embarrassed to take my girlfriend here.

I recently began working in the Carlsbad area, so this sounded like a good lunch stop today. The interior can be described as "clubby Chipotle." Which, I guess, isn't a bad thing. I ordered a gyro wrap along with fries. Both were above-average, and that's coming from a guy who feels compelled to eat any meat dish that rotates on a spit if it's on a menu. Nothing knocked my socks off, but I'll be returning for lunch as long as I work in this area that doesn't have an over-abundance of unique lunch options. Overall, good food, great service. 3.5 TomStars

I am a new girl in the area. Originally cheered for Dallas, but had to move to a new team. So I choose the chargers. And I must say I absolutely love this place! Quick, good, and all the employees are so happy! I believe I had Nick who took my order we laughed because his name tag said Bane. He is such a gentleman, he had his manager help with my choice in what I should eat there. I think it was Shane not to sure, but besides that my service was outstanding! You need to eat here, I'm gonna have all my girls come in now so healthy! update-I have been reading a lot of these 3 star or lower reviews and they really make me disappointed. It was honestly so good and such a relief to have non hormone pumped meats. They have so many gluten free options. I had to sign up with there rewards system and made sure that they got a good tip. This place was awesome!!

I used to watch my wife eat here, as I held my nose in horrid disgust of the foul stench of a floor freshly mopped with dirty bleach water. However, over time I became a fan of this place because of its healthy & tasty food. After several botched orders though, I've come to the conclusion that the cooks either can't read well or are extremely careless. When it's done right, the food is really good - but good luck getting what you actually ordered. For example, we once received a box full of fries in lieu of a grilled chicken kabob entree. I received tomatoes when my favorite carrots were requested, and we got chicken kabobs one time when we had ordered the chicken/sirloin combo. Recently, the rice has been a bit undercooked too. We don't go to Luna Grill as often any more, as getting a good meal there has become like playing a game of Russian roulette.

we have dined here twice... The first time the chicken, lamb, and cornish hen plates were out of this world! We were extremely excited to come back again. Unfortunately upon return, my lamb (which I had ordered medium rare) was well done with the exception of one piece that was med-well. In other words, dry. The cornish hen and chicken were a bit dry, not succulent like the first time, and seemed to have less flavor. I'm not sure if they mist their kebabs during grilling, but I am attributing the lack of flavor to a need for a few more spritzes, or longer marinating. We are going back today, in hopes or second visit was a fluke. I love the sumac shakers on the table, and hope in the future there is an option for barberry rice! I love the stuff, and would gladly pay a little extra for it. The red velvet cupcake is delish, and the decor is clean, minimalistic, modern, and bright without feeling sterile. Oh, and they serve on real plates with metal utensils which was a nice surprise. My boyfriend and i have high hopes for our upcoming lunch... (fingers crossed).

Went for lunch today to try it, as it's on the list for Restaurant Week deals. The Restaurant Week deal was hummus plus an entree for $10. I had the spicy hummus and it was OK. I ordered the chicken kabob and it was very tasty -- good sauce, compare to Koo Koo Roo. Salad was good. The restaurant was clean and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was poor - they took forever and then we realized they had lost our order. Overall, it was OK.

Been here several times (a regular customer actually) and the last few times my order has been incorrect, I rarely review a place but today I had to vent my frustration. I pre-ordered a salad with chicken on the side "to go" since I didn't want to wait for my food when I got there. I work across the way so I waited the 10-15 mins the girl on the phone said my food would be ready. When I got there I used my yelp check in and unlocked the free 20oz drink. When I asked for my purchase to be added to my rewards (since they never ask the customer about it) she said they couldn't add my purchase of $13.50 to my rewards since I used the yelp free drink WOW the drink was $2.00?!?! I paid and as she was going to give me my food she noticed my chicken was missing! She asked the cook for it and they had to throw it on the grill so I was there waiting another 5-10 mins until someone asked the cook for the chicken again. SO MUCH FOR CALLING AHEAD!!! Anyway, there you go, my lunch at that point was ruined.

After seeing this restaurant everywhere, I decided I had to try it out - it must be good if it is everywhere, right? I am a bit particular on the quality and flavor of my kabobs and at first glance, it seemed like a lower quality establishment, so I was hesitant to try the restaurant. The first thing I noticed in walking in was the extremely bright red color everywhere. I am not so hot on the color and found it to be jarring while I ate as well as inconsistent with the "fresh" and "natural" values of the restaurant I was reading about while in line; but it seems like a lot of other people love the color so maybe they made the right move with that choice. I also noticed that it was quite crowded - a lot of people were stopping by for lunch, always a good sign. I went for the lamb kabob lunch entree, which came with white basamati rice, a side salad, grilled tomato and pita with yogurt dip. The first thing I tried was the grilled tomato and unfortunately it was terrible - it was burnt and the flavor tasted like the original tomato was not good to begin with. Not a good start to the meal. The side salad was ok, didn't add too much to the meal flavor wise but nice to have a few greens. The pitas also weren't the best I have ever had, but they were good. The yogurt dip was tasty. The best things on the plate were definitely the basamati rice and the meat - very flavorful and great texture. These will definitely cause me to return to this place for lunch. They were actually probably the best tasting I have had at a fast-ish Mediterranean restaurant! Also, the fact that the meat is all natural and USDA certified is a major plus. I didn't know about this fact before hand, but if I had, I would have definitely tried out the restaurant sooner. In some ways, when I saw this in the store, I was thinking that they were trying to be trendy, but I still seek out restaurants and food that is natural and without additives, so trendy or not, I love it. In fact, that might raise my star count up to 4.5 or 5 just because of that fact. I'll have to think about it.

Busy on Friday and service was kind of slow. I had a gyro wrap which was fine except for the nasty lettuce, the lettuce was so dry it was like eating thick, leafy, dry kale. Nasty! Could not remove it as it was all wrapped up. That ruined my lunch. :-(

My family stopped by here the other day for a quick dinner with our two 9 year old boys. The best part about this experience was the customer service. The manager and her team go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect and check in with you after receiving your food just enough without being a pest. Prices are a bit high for this type of place, but I don't mind when the service is outstanding!

First visit to Luna Grill was last night. Last visit to Luna Grill was last night as well, possibly. I was greeted by a friendly person who made pleasant conversation and took my order and payment efficiently. Now the slow downhill slide begins. I don't know the process for preparing take-out kabobs, but it must be very involved. I waited about 25 minutes after placing my order - wished I had remembered my copy of "A Tale of Two Cities". I had a 4 minute drive home with the chicken kabob entree and the falafel wrap with fries. Everything was cold! While that was okay for the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber sauce - both the chicken, falafels, and fries could have benefitted from some higher temps. Could my food have been ready and waiting in the back, but they forgot me? Or is the food served only luke-warm to cold as a rule? Not sure, but don't think I'll research any further.

Well, I like greek/persian food so I will keep eating it. But if this was my first crack at it, it would turn me off. Their food is unseasoned and dry. Their vegetables are the same as you would warm up at home and tasted like a microwave warmed it up. I feel like this food would be so good if done right. We catered for lunch for a group. Its about 50/50 for those who order about liking it. Most thought it was ok and the servings were large. But again, half didn't like it so it feels like a crap shot when ordering here. I had the tofu wrap, which was terrible. It seemed like they just took to tofu out of the package and stuck it in a microwave. No seasoning. The vegatables in the wrap again, no season and was really bland. The gave one tiny tziki (sp) sauce, but that was not enough for the whole wrap. Also the fries sucked so bad!! Tasted like it was istting for a lonnnng time. Given, I know it had to make it from the restaurant back to the office..maybe 10 minute drive max. They were old, dry, soggy, crappy fries. I wouldn't come back to this place, I would try somewhere else first.

I found Luna while looking for something to eat on a lunch break. I only get 30 minutes for lunch, and that wasn't long enough to get to/from Luna Grill and get food. They weren't too busy, but for some reason it took FOREVER to get my to go food. One of the cashiers had to finally say something to the line manager because I "had been waiting a really long time." So, if you've got some time to spare, I'd say stop by on a lunch break. Otherwise, plan on spending a while there. But, it's not all bad. The food is pretty good. Rice was nice and fluffy, chicken had a great flavor, salad was yummy. I ordered a chicken kabob (they pulled the stick out for me, which I liked) that came with rice, carrots, pita, tsaziki, and a small salad for $8 or $9. Everything seemed really fresh. I walked by one woman with a salad and it looked amazing..I think it had cous cous in it!

I am not someone who usually eats mediterranean food but the wife convinced me. Food was fresh, hot and really good! For semi-fast food the service was more impressive than some restaurants. The manager especially went out of his way. Were also very kid friendly. Will definitely be back!

I was a little skeptical about Luna Grill as I imagined heavy, greasy, need a nap after Mediterranean food. Very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the flatcut chicken kabobs which were served with basmati rice, a grilled carrot, crisp salad plus little pitas and yogurt dip. The chicken was juicy and moist and the accompaniments well paired. My husband ordered the gyro which had a side of basmati rice. He found the gyro tender and delicious. "I thought they would be nasty and gamey, but it was really, really good," he said in typical fashion. Plus, it is always fun to pronounce "yee-ro"! Or, for kicks and giggles, "Jy-ro"! The staff was friendly and attentive. I thought the complimentary bottled water to go was a great touch. The "To Go" menu is on a hearty cardstock. Very nice. And you can order online too! I will be back.

Great food and excellent service. The Mediterranean salad is amazing. I will definitely make this a regular stop on my restaurant list.

I really like their concept- fresh Mediterrenean food that's prepared in a healthy way and no "fillers" in the meat. And the red and white color palette makes it look trendy. The lunch specials make for a good deal for the quantity. I got the falafel plate for $6.99 with basmati rice, pita bread, salad, cucumber yogurt dressing, and three falafels. The bf got the same thing except with chicken kabobs (kabob with about 5 small pieces of chicken). The food is fresh, but it's not anything spectacular. Nothing is particularly delicious or flavorful, and I personally think that having both rice and pita bread is a tad too much of the bottom of the food pyramid. But definitely nothing is bad. And the meal is probably a lot healthy than their next-door neighbor, Rubio's. This location could use a little more TLC though. During the mad weekday lunch rush, the food takes a while to come out, on top of the wait in line to order, and no one really goes by to bus the tables in a timely fashion after customers leave.

Wow. Their Norwegian Salmon is the best!! Soo good!! I ordered their Veggie Platter today though, not a fan of the couscous. And the grape leaves could use a little spice I think.

For a fast food persian/middle eastern food this place is ok but I have had better food in LA and OC. For me the meat is not spicy enough as it should be; yes the rice is good but basmati rice is not hard to make. Also for the food its a bit pricey So try it and dont expect much I think you will come out happy.

Not impressed. Came here for lunch with a friend and the service here was slow slow slow. Though it was peak lunch hour, it took my friend what seemed forever to recieve his gyro. I ordered a falafel burger with spicy cilantro sauce and it was OK. I didn't think it was worth $8 for the burger - I felt it lacked flavor. I found the fries more flavorful than the burger and ended up enjoying that more instead.

Luna is alright in my book. Descent kabobs, modern atmosphere, the type of place where you are not obligated to leave a $10 tip, and the food is good. I wouldn't give Luna 5 stars, but I think it's a great place to visit every once in a while.

I ate at Luna Grill with a bunch of friends for a casual birthday celebration. They did a great job of accommodating a group of around 15 people. Food was delicious - I had the falafel and apple salad. My husband really enjoyed the lamb. Portion size was fairly large as well. i thought it was great quality and healthier food for eating out than you can find at many other places.

I still give this place 5 stars for good prices, hormone free food, and several great menu items, but I think that the one thing they can do to make more people happy is to use more seasoning in the kabobs. Sometimes that are packed with flavor, but other times they taste like unseasoned meat. The haters that give this place one star are totally wrong, I have eaten here probably one hundred times, and the quality of the food and the service is always pretty consistent. Also, they let me kid eat here and make a big mess and they clean it up for us !!! Also kids eat free on Sunday nights. Warning to people that do not like kids, do not go there on Sunday night.

When this restaurant first opened, it was great. I'm not sure if they have new owners but it has really gone downhill. They add things to menu and then get rid of them. No substitutions. They won't let you order a plate with all rice no salad or vice versa. I mean really what or why do they care. We were excited when they opened and I keep giving them a chance but I won't be back.

I have been going to Luna Grill since it opened and love their food. Most important to me is the integrity of the ingredients. They use meat with no hormones or antibiotics, all natural ingredients and organic produce! I feel good eating there. Until last week I had never had any problems with food quality or service. I ended up having numerous issues with my order, which the manager and staff quickly attended to. Though I ended up getting my food, it involved a few more errors and a lot of time. Without me asking, the manager prepared an extra meal for me to take home and didn't charge me for any of the food. This showed a high level of customer service ... I was impressed. I will continue to be a big fan of Luna Grill and appreciate the efforts the staff made for a loyal patron.

Eggplant dip tasted canned... :( I am not a fan of can food at home, and especially not at a restaurant. The koobideh was a bit lacking in the flavor department, and dry. Rice...not as fluffy as i would like. I am a rice queen. Yes I am super picky when it comes to my Persian food, but I really have had the fortune of tasting some of the best from good friends. This place will taste fine for most people, so do not use my review as a standard. It is a decent choice. I will probably visit again sometime and give it another try just to make sure they weren't simply having an "off" day.

I have freaking had it with this location. My company has spent a lot of time and money there and you'd think at least once they could get our order right. No matter what, someone either goes without food or gets their order entirely wrong, but usually, there is more than one person whose order gets completely f*cked up. The people who answer the phone are useless if you have questions. We had to call another location to get a question answered about a menu item. Seriously guys, if you don't know what you serve or what is in your food, either put someone on hold until you can get an answer, or don't answer the phone at all. Also, we have a vegan who specifically liked ordering here because she had various options to choose from, but their recent menu changes make it so that all of their "vegan" menu items contain cheese! Do you even know what vegan means? Oh, and she was super thrilled to find chunks of chicken in her humus. Bonus insult to vegan and vegetarians: THEY WON'T LET YOU CUSTOMIZE ANYTHING TO MAKE IT TRUE VEGAN. They don't cater to allergies, either. If you're allergic to onions, or don't want something on your burger, you're screwed. The food used to be tasty enough to put up with the crappy service. That's not the case anymore. It's either extremely bland or excessively salty. There's no in between. And the prices? Pretty steep for the amount of food you're NOT getting, especially compared to the competition and considering the terrible service. If you're ordering for a group steer clear. If you are looking for similar choices with quality service in a reasonable time frame, try Santorini Island Grill on Van Allen and Faraday.

I've stopped in to Luna Grill for dinner a few weeks in a row. My wife and I each tried a different meal, and I have to say, we were happy with our food and service every time. The fact that my wife is pescatarian means that Mediterranean food is a big player on our menu. We likened Luna Grill to the handful of Greek/Med. restaurants in our area and felt it compared well if not better. The prices are in the same ballpark and in some cases, the food selection may be a little bit better.

  • Carin M.

The food that we got was tasty, but the order got messed up. Maybe because they were very busy and it's just impossible to do all orders correctly under a time crunch? The girl even repeated it back so Im not sure why the entire appetizer got missed. I'd go back for the food, but I'll skip the can of mineral water which I thought was overpriced for a casual eatery at $3.50 a can. Close by my office, but the lunch line is long, so you may want to go after the lunch rush from 12:00 to 12:45 too to have a better experience.

A bit pricier than our other favorite kabob shops, tho its the closest. Had the fries with feta cheese appetizer since we had a coupon. Not many choices, so we settled for this. A bit of cheese and wimpy fries. The ground beef kabob was lacking in size and herbs n spices, tho the salad was good and the rice was light and fluffy. My bf had the beef kabob, with chunks of marinated beef, onions and tomatoes. So-so, but a bit pricey for a few chunks of beef. A return visit? Tbd....the other place is just a few more miles south.....

I am regular costomer of this restaurant in Carlsbad location. The store is supper clean, the food is excellent and the service staffs are just amazing, they seem always happy and move in fast paste and they remember my orders every time. Located in the Bressi Shopping Center, wow I have been meaning to go, and just tonight had an wonderful, fresh and on so so tasty meal that I have to give it a high "five!". Really nice place. Walk up to counter, order and they bring to you your meal. I was not sure on what to order and the girl behind the counter and the "runner fellow" where super nice and helpful with suggestions. I had the chicken kabob with gyros. Best I have ever had...super moist, tasty and del-ious. Friend had the chipotle chicken wrap, with Greek salad. Great dressing, fresh greens so good! Have the flatbread too! Great place should of come sooner....I will be back! They serve beer and wine too! Outside patio.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They are the WORST!!! We live in the neighborhood and it is beyond easy to swing in for lunch or carry out. Today was the icing on the cake. We will not be dining there any more. If you want a good experience try another place. I have been there many times, and on too many of my dining experiences something has gone wrong. Including taking way too long to get my order, multiple mistakes with orders and finally extremely poor customer service. Today, I was blamed that my order was not correct, rather than apologizing and helping to correct the issue. They lacked to understand that I am the customer. Eat somewhere else if you can.

Went in tonight again because my family wanted luna grill even if it was raining. And service was spot on. Food was delicious. We ordered the chicken kabob entree with a spicy hummus appetizer. I recently gave them 4 stars but tonight they deserve 5 stars because every time we come back it gets better. Just wanted to share my visit with everyone. We will see you soon luna grill. O and keep up the good work Kyle thank you for your help.

Can't tell you how many times a month I use Luna Grill for catering the the office. Everything is always perfect and when it's delivered - which it was today - they are on time, and incredibly helpful setting up. Hugo Aguilar was my delivery person today - five stars to Hugo - he couldn't find me, went ahead and had it all set up by the time I got done putting out the fire of the moment. These guys are awesome - give them a try. The store employees are wonderful - the catering department - OF THE CHARTS GREAT.

Came for a quick lunch. Ordered the lunch entree with chicken kabob and a bowl of the lemon chicken soup. Order came to $12.39. Bit pricey for a fast food joint. Order came quick. Service was good. Food was decent. The chicken kabob was packed with flavors and moist. The rice was dry and plain. The side salad was a typical greek salad, nothing special. I did really like the chicken soup. Would definitely come back for that and a side of the chicken kabob.

I was impressed with the quality of food and service that this fast-food restaurant offers. I brought the most critical of all critics - my mother - and was appalled by her genuine approval and said, "I like this restaurant!" To my amazement, I nodded and said, "Really?" I was speechless indeed, not just with my mom's positive review but also with the overall appeal of the restaurant. It was clean, calm, airy, and vibrant. The red theme throughout the restaurant was not difficult to notice. Red happens to be not my favorite color but it works here. Oh yeah the food - the chicken was amazingly not dry - even the breast part. I would go back here again and again. The price was reasonable and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Not sure how they do it but the chicken kabob is awesome. I have never had chicken so good. Now I have a higher standard to live up to cooking. Damn you Luna Grill!!!! Keep it up though.

  • Dc C.

The chicken kabobs and vegetable kabobs are pretty awesome. Best part is, you can order them a la carte, so you don't get any of the unhealthier stuff (white rice, sauces), etc on your plate. You can also specify the kabobs to be cooked with or without oil. So, if you're healthy conscious and looking for a nice, clean place with very friendly staff, give Luna Grill a try! :-)

I really wanted to like this place. I tried really hard, honest. After several visits I have come to the conclusion that it may be healthy, but it just isn't that great. I have tried several items from the menu - ranging from the flat chicken, gyro, lamb, and even a burger. Out of the things I tried, the Lamb was the best - but even that was just "alright". This place always seems to be pretty busy too. Im not sure I understand why, but after a few times of eating here, I doubt I will order from again.

This review is regarding the lack of customer service and not about their food. 9 out of 10 times when we call for a take out order they're always missing something. We even mentioned it to the store manager and her lack of concern for this issue was surprising. The order takers need to listen or take better notes and check the orders prior to giving it to the customers. I don't think this is very much to ask for.

Ive been to many places and I dont usually give them a review unless they did an impact to my dining experience. I went here during lunch last week and it was busy and since its crazy busy that means the food is good so I give it a try. When I walked in one of the employee greeted me right away by looking on their menu I was confused weather I will get a kabob or the wraps and I told the cashier to serve the next guest while Im looking on the menu. One of the employee was serving a plate right next to me it smells Sooooooooooooooooo good and I asked him "what is that" and he said its beef kabob im still undecided I went to the restroom and come back again on the cashier and dang theres a long line oh thats fine so I can think of what to order. Finally its my turn and I ordered the beef kabob. While ordering the cashier asked me options on grilled tomatoes or grilled carrots.....I love grilled tomato and she said I can upgrade my salad to greek just a $1 something which is great and instead of rice I can substitute it to fries along with i also ordered a refillable soda.....I seated on one of the table right next to the soda station so I can easily refill my drink. it took about 12 minutes for my food and when they deliver it comes with a yogurt sauce like similar to raita of the indian place I had in downtown san diego and I asked for an extra one with no charge....nice. AMBIANCE - 4 star FOOD - 5 star STAFF - 4.5 star CLEANLINESS - 4 star Overall - I will definitely recommend this place not only because of the great food but also healthy and affordable. In one plate you have the kabob, salad, fries or rice, pita bread, grilled tomato and the yogurt sauce....VERY NICE CONCEPT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRY THE BEEF KABOB its really tasty!!!

3.5 stars. First off, the positives: I love the decor, it feels light refreshing and clean. The lamb was moist and the meal overall was delicious. The negatives: how did the meal add up so quickly with the coupon?! Also I initially wanted to use the coupon on the daily special but I quickly shot down. How sad, it doesn't say I can't use it on the daily special! For shame... For shame... My friend Jimmy love hummus, its almost sickening how much he loves hummus. I wasn't too crazy about it so I left it up to him to finish. The fries were really oily. No bueno. And the service wasn't too good either. I kept on trying to flag anyone who worked here for a box but all ignored me as they were walking by. If they provided better service, I would've give it 4 stars. So in short: go with the lamb, its delicious, pricing is a bit on the high end and the service could be improved upon.

Stopped for a late lunch 3:00pm with my daughter and 3 kids and my husband. We had hummus and pita bread for appetizer. It was as good as any restaurant provides. My husband had spanokapita plus the lemon chicken soup and found it very satisfying. I had the Armenian chicken salad and my daughter the Greek chicken salad. It tasted fresh, healthy, and would definitely want to eat it again. The service was good and our food was served promptly.

A little pricey for what you get, but the quality shows. Have tried the salads with lamb and another time with chicken. The entree plates are really good, and the meats are flavorful. CONS: Noise Get take-out and eat in peace at home. This place is FULL of families and loud children. So if you have kids, it is ideal because no one is going to look sideways at you for having a screaming toddler. Ordering Time: I have no idea why, but the last couple of times I ordered at the counter I had to wait nearly 20 minutes... for SALADS. And the restaurant wasn't busy. Just seemed odd to have such a long wait.

I eat here once every 1-2 weeks. It's right by my house. I absolutely love the chicken kabobs, or the greek salad with chicken in it. The chicken is very moist and has a great flavor. YES TO THE CHICKEN!!! I like the warm pita bread with yogurt dip. With that being said, there are some negatives: Mon-Fri during lunch time is ridiculous. No parking, long line, and very loud. The place is near many office buildings, so it's just a mad rush during that time. I avoid it if possible. I've recently discovered their online ordering which I highly suggest! The wait time at this place is ridiculous, and as other reviewers said.....even when the place is empty!!! I have never been out of there in less than 20 minutes. I had one crazy wait time of 30 minutes and I had to get someone's attention. It didn't scare me away because I do like the food and I have to make the best of the options near my house. Please, somebody do something about this, we are all crying about it! Sept. 2012 Update: Still eating here once a week. Still ordering online (so much faster). Still eating the chicken!!!

Luna Grill is really catching on! I went for lunch today and it was packed. The downside is that it was noisy and a bit hard to hear my lunchmate; although, I could hear the lady two tables away just fine. Anyway, I went last night for dinner too so I'm still a fan. Now only if they would offer some more coupons online...

This place is just one of my spots that I like to go to when I'm on my lunch break. It is a nice place to eat, but be warned that during lunch hours during the work week the place can get pretty hectic. It usually stems from the fact that it is surrounded by industrial work areas so there is a high concentration of workers around that area. Luna grill is a really nice place to eat. It seems really clean and neat. The service there isn't really exceptional, but they're nice and are willing to get you your food. I usually order the gyro or the falafel. Both of which are really tasty. The price is moderate and kinda reasonable I guess. I don't eat here too much because I don't like paying $10 for a meal. If you work in the area and need a place to eat for lunch, you should definitely try out this area.

I'll start with the positives. The place is pretty and bright inside, I liked the super long basmati rice, and service was nice. For the not so positive...Gyro was dry and I'd avoid the Lavash bread. It just wasn't right. I picked the inside of my Gyro sandwich and ate it w/the rice off of my husband's plate. They were playing a combo playlist of Coldplay and Radiohead which was super depressing for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Don't get me wrong, I like Coldplay, but given the setting it was awkward and brought me down. I might give them another try since it's in my neighborhood. For now, I'll be generous with 3 stars.

So I've come here a few times because it's right next to my boyfriend's work and he likes to eat healthy. So i passed by today to get a quick to go order to bring to him at work since he didn't have time to take a break. Half an hour later, I'm watching people who came in 15 minutes after me receive their food while I'm still waiting for mine. The manager even acknowledges that I've been waiting and tells me it's coming right up. 10 minutes after that he brings me my food and I leave completely irritated. I get to my bf's work and grab his box of food for it to spill all over the bag because the box wasn't closed completely. After he calms me down a bit, I decide to eat my food to relieve the stress a little. They got my order wrong. So I waited 40 minutes to get my order wrong and for the food to be served in a plastic bag. Way to go, Luna grill, but no thanks.

Guess what, Luna Grill? I'm taking you down to a single star due to your snarky, condescending reply to my review. The next time you'd like to reply to a reviewer, maybe try being nice or even, as Otis Redding put it so well, try a little tenderness.

the red and white colors really reminded me of In-N-Out - missing the yellow and crossing palm trees outside of course - but you get the idea. My friend got the chicken plate and i tried a piece, it was honestly pretty dry! i had the gyro lunch plate with fries and both were fab! their red velvet cupcakes are super moist, and the baklava is super sweet (if that's your thing). i do love that their meat is all natural. their prices are reasonable too! Their staff is really friendly.. I'd come back to hang out with my colleagues - but it wouldn't be top of mind.

I was not happy with this place at all! My Fries were cold and old when I got them. I ordered a veggie wrap and it was mostly lettuce and a small bit of tofu....no sauce anywhere on my wrap so it was dry. If you're in the mood for old fries and a dry tasteless wrap for $8 Luna Grill is the place to go!

Absolutely love this place! They have the whole package! Great food and excellent customer service! You have the convenience of "fast food" and the service of fine dining. I'm very impressed with how well groomed and professional the employees are. From the time you enter their doors until the time you leave, they make sure you are taken care of. As a busy mom of four children, I look forward to being treated like I matter. I appreciate how the employees come to your table to ask how the food is. I have been to several restaurants with similar menus and none of them beat the quality of the food here. The gyros are more tender than other places. The Cornish game hen is mouth watering... browned just right and very juicy inside. The rice is perfectly done, flaky without being dry. Impeccable service! I highly recommend eating here! I guarantee you will be hooked!

Being an artist, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful, clean design and layout of the restaurant. The ordering menus were high-tech, on TV screens, which made it very easy to read. Waiting in-line, I observed the dishes being passing by, by the servers. Everything looked very fresh and well presented. One could wait a little longer than In & Out, but yeah this is not a hamburger joint. Check-out that tile, that's stuff is really high-end, NOT In & Out. It was my turn to order..... Hummus..thick & creamy, just enough garlic and lemon to make my mouth water, as I write this. Soup... Lemon Chicken, are you tried of Mexican Chicken soup ? which I love. The lemon chicken is wonderful in the winter and cold days. Once again, perfect balance of lemon to make this soup the best in the county. Spanakopita is phyllo dough with a balance of feta cheese and spinach, not like that "fast-food" Greek restaurant which gives you a token teaspoon of spinach, here you get lots of spinach and this is fresh. Wraps are huge, cut it in half and have the rest the next day! I only eat lamb at this restaurant, not very many places know how to prepare it properly, if you get the Hummus, (put it on yourself, won't get soggy for the next days lunch.) The star of the Luna Grill is Cornish Hen, the presentation is wonderful. Easy to eat, without making a scene, licking your fingers. Charbroiled and marinated, keeps this very tender. As with other dishes, the price is right, it's two meals, take it home! I read the reviews of others, keep in mind, this is NOT a fast-food establishment, everything is made to order. If you are in a hurry, CALL AHEAD! place your order on the phone, like you would at Phil's BBQ. Anyone who goes out to eat, if the place has great food, there will be a line, thank goodness. If the place was empty, would you eat there? I don't think so. The food is great, the people care and the place is very clean! As for those who think this is an expensive place, DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT COST TO RENT A SPACE IN THESE MALL AREA! the landlords are the one making the big bucks Thanks for coming to North County! Keep up the great customer service and wonderful fresh food, great job!

Mediocre food+steep prices equals luna grill. Nearly $30 for two. We'll never get that money back. We'll never be back. If you' re in the area and want fresh, healthy food at a reasonable price go to Froots a couple of doors down. BTW the acoustics onlt serve to make the screaming children unbearable. During our meal, three other clients were served the wrong meals.

The concept of the restaurant is cute - mod mediterranean. However. When I order beef gyros wrap with fries, and I come home and open up my beef gyros wrap with rice, you won't find me happy... The rice was dry and flavorless, the wrap was okay, but overall, for an empty restaurant to get my order wrong - not a good start to this relationship!

A great cafe with fresh and healthy food. We went yesterday and Jes at the counter provided excellent service. She was polite and after the food was served came twice to our table to see if we needed anything. Her efficiency, courteous attitude and attention to detail were outstanding. Andrea was also keeping the place looking really clean and sparkling. She was extremely pleasant and also came to our table to say hello and find out about our experience at the cafe. She was very nice and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves. Kudos to both of them for taking such good care of their customers.

This place is super slow and the prices... I donno... I think you can do better if you go down the street. I've only been here a few times because of friends and I didn't care for my food, price or service each time. It's not the worst but It's mos def not worth trying.

The fries taste just like McDonald's, um yeah, I had stopped going to McDonald's years ago... The first time I went I had the Greek Chicken Salad. It was ok. They brought out undercooked chicken, so I sent it back and expected them to just replace the chicken, but they sent out a whole new salad. The one at Santorini's is so much better. Second time I had the chicken caesar wrap with the McDonald-like fries. Only half the wrap had chicken in it! The chicken was pretty good but the other half of the wrap only had lettuce in it. Plus the caesar dressing was only on that half. Luckily the chicken was tasty, so I'll go back again and try something else, but probably not the wrap again.

Once again, I'm a fan because they welcome dogs on their patio. They even brought her a bowl for water and ice. In a nutshell, this is where you go for Greek food when you want better quality than Daphne's and you don't want to spend about $20 for gyros. I had the gyro and spanokopita combo. The serving size is enough for two. The gyros were good, not too greasy. The spanokopita was baked and not soggy. This combo came with rice and a salad; all for $10.99. My sister had the apple & walnut salad. The apples were a bit soggy but otherwise the salad was very good (lightly dressed). We're looking forward to trying other menu items!

I was excited about the opening of Luna Grill so near to work so I could have a new lunch spot. My first visit was disappointing. The restaurant is nice, clean, and the staff is friendly. I went a little before lunch and ordered a salad (without meat) and hummus because I was in a rush. It took almost 20 minutes for my food to be ready. Several people who arrived after me were served first. The salad itself tasted just fine but was not spectacular. Several old-looking pieces of lettuce. But it was $8, and they gave me 3 tomato slices, two cucumber slices, two olives, and two pepperoncini. EIGHT DOLLARS for a mediocre salad. Trader Joes next door has the same for $3. The hummus is good, a bit under seasoned, but a good amount for the price. I hope they improve the quality of their food and service over the coming weeks, because it would be nice to have a new restaurant to enjoy.

"Is there anything else we can do for you?" Well, now that I got my food, no, I'm good. But why didn't you come 3 minutes ago, or maybe 20 minutes ago, when we were still waiting for our food, Mr. Manager? Yeah, you're friendly only when your help is no longer needed! Oh, by the way, Mr. Manager, could you please increase the size of the font on your menu? I have a hard time reading your menu when it's posted high up next to the ceiling. Maybe I'm too short? Let me reiterate: could you please increase the size of the font on your menu, or, could you please supply step stools so the vertically challenged could get closer to the menus? Thanks!

We have been to Luna 4 times for lunch and they have always been quick and courteous. Tonight however, my wife went to grab us some dinner and after ordering two mahi dinners they came back and said they were out. So she chose two salmon plates as a replacements. She was then told there was only enough salmon for one plate. So she ordered chicken to complete the order. 25 minutes later they gave her the order. Now mind you they were not crowded and they made little to no attempt to offer her anything while she was waiting. Very poor customer service and thus the downgrade to 3 stars. Businesses should always remember customers have choices... And Yelp. Balls in your court... UPDATE: The manager of Luna Grill replied to our post right away and offered her apologies for our negative experience. Because of her prompt and sincere message, I am upgrading Luna to 4 stars.

Amazing Cornish hen! Guilt free dining. We love coming here because the food is consistently good, the staff is so helpful And the facility is impeccably clean. We forget our wallet once and they even gave us a free dinner! Fabulous addition to the community.

13 dollars for a Chicken salad?! I don't think so. If im going to pay that much then I better be served. I will never pay that price again at a "fast food" joint. it's way too busy during lunch time as well.. Damn shumcks waiting inline to pay for overpriced food they are being fooled into thinking is healthy! Haha

Still a Lu-No. So, so, so slow. Thought I would give this place a try and sample that spanokopita that had eluded me on my first visit. I bought a huge, delicious 6 dollar salad next door at Souplantation express. I went in for my side of spinach deliciousness. $6.49 later, I have two, lukewarm, soggy pieces of nothing spectacular. Not to mention in a nearly empty restaurant I had to wait 15 minutes for a side dish. On another note, 5 high school/college students standing around, chatting, eating and simulataneously serving food is disgusting. I feel bad for the understaffed, hard working men in the kitchen.

Went to Luna Grill and made a to-go order for a cup of soup and a side salad with dressing. After waiting over 25 minutes for what I thought would be a simple order, I finally got my food and was on my way, but only after asking them to make sure they put dressing with my salad. After much anticipation I opened up my bag to a half-filled cup of soup with barely any rice and ONE tiny piece of chicken. Better yet, when I opened the salad, there was NO dressing! This place is overpriced but could be good if they didn't skimp on what they gave you and actually gave what you ordered. $15 for a soup and salad, wasted.

Stumbled across this place while traveling out West. Wasn't sure what type of food to expect when I saw the name. My visit was right before closing. Atmosphere is very modern. The owners have done their homework before their launch. The Gen Y population will appreciate the setup. LCD menu boards and seating arrangements for socializing are featured. I ordered the chicken kabob entree which comes with basmati rice, few pieces of pita, sautéed carrots and a Greek type salad. Everything was very fresh, even at 830 PM. Staff was very friendly. As far a I'm concerned, there's a huge calling for Mediterranean type food at the fast casual dining level. This is definitely a move in the right direction.

This place is just what Carlsbad needed... I'm addicted. I have been 4 times in the past 2 weeks. Every time I go in I try something new... and every time I leave a very happy girl! The staff is super friendly and always have great recommendations. And the best part is that the meat is all natural. It's so hard to find a quick and easy lunch place like Luna. I can't wait to try more of the menu!

I am always perplexed by the range of reviews people give. This restaurant receives a 1 and 5. I know experiences vary and tastes are even more varied. I really think this place is a solid 3.5. The quality and appeal (in my opinion) is the meat. You pay top dollar for lean piece of healthy meat. The flat chicken is truly excellent. It is what they pride themselves on, it is solid. It is a causal restaurant, so I would say it is a solid 3.5-4 on the chicken. It is not gourmet, so I think 5 would be overdoing it. Sure, fast food places can obtain 5 status, I guess it depends on your taste buds. I would stick with Kabobs, burgers and falafel. Too me, that is the sweetspot. it is pricy and I think that is why people are soo hard on the place. makes sense, it will cost you about $10.00 to eat. Nothing in NY, but in C-Bad, that is pushin it. Solid place to eat, you won't feel bad after eating, and the meat is excellent. I like the owners and staff is nice, sometimes they are out in left field, but they are getting minimum wage. Just be nice and things will go well.

Edit: They raised prices pretty substantially. Prices are almost double what they were. Down to three stars. I've stopped by Luna Grill a couple times over the past few weeks, and I have to say, it is pretty good. I get the chicken kabob lunch entree, very reasonably priced at lunchtime for $6.99 Service is quick, you get a number to stick on your table and your food is brought to you by a runner. The decorations are really nice, it has a very new age/classy feel with the high resolution menus on the tvs(extremely readable) and the overwhelmingly white decor. I digress, lets get back on the real topic, the food. When it arrived the first thing i noticed was the plating, care has definitely been excised as to the logic and location of the different foods on the plate. The meat is taken off the stick, a huge plus. I always feel like I am going to fling my food across the room when removing the meat from the skewer at other places. I saw another reviewer bitching about this and took a star off their review because of it. Can you say "anal?" It is warm, juicy, and very good, served on a bed of white, long-grain basmati rice and with tzatziki (which was a bit bland), warm pita bread, and a salad with some kind of vinaigrette and fresh sliced baby tomatoes. I have also had the hummus, which, while good, was lacking a certain something that i couldn't put my finger on. I have also had the lemon chicken soup, which is pale in comparison to the soup at The Armenian Cafe nearer to the beach in Carlsbad. All in all, Luna Grill is a good place to grab lunch around the Palomar Airport area, but can get a bit busy (and loud) around the lunch rush from 11-1:30. The price is right, and the food is good. I'll be back in the future.

Luna Grill is one of the increasing number of fast casual restaurants and a decent addition to the southern part of Carlsbad. The decor seems to be In-N-Out meets Souplantation which sounds strange but actually works rather well here. We had the Beef Kabob Entree and the Lamb Kabob sandwich. The beef kabobs were cooked to our specification, were of good size and came with a nice salad and basmati rice. The salad greens were very fresh and the entire plate had good presentation. The beef itself was very tasty. The lamb kabob sandwich was good if a bit bland. Even so, I would probably get it again as the lamb itself was very tasty and grilled just short of perfection. It came with a decent helping of really good fries. The table included sumac spice (purple spice that is tangy, slightly sweet and a bit salty, made from the Sumac tree/bush) which is very good to sprinkle over the rice. For those that are into it, there are several vegetarian/vegan choices. Over all the value for what you get is OK though some may find Luna Grill a bit on the pricey side. Luna Grill is worth a try.

Waited about 45 minutes for a gyros, which I thought would be a quick thing to make. And it was not that good. Super plain, meat was ok, but that's about it. Not going back.

I am blown away at all the bad reviews. I/we regularly order the chicken kabobs and gyro plate for pickup/takeaway. We love it. The Luna salad is also great.

Went here for dinner. Had the lemon chicken soup. Good. However, I ordered the chicken ceasar warp. Bad choice. The chicken was way too dry and there was NO lettuce whatsoever. Bummer because I really like the soup. I wouldn't of paid for the wrap+fries. Not too sure why the wrap was wrapped in foil then sandwich wrap. Maybe needed extra protection?? Anyway, it was worth a shot trying something new here. Eh on the wrap.

Don't go on kids day SUNDAY. My poor daughter was told in line that the last milk was just sold, she ordered a hamburger... then after 30min was told that they had no hamburgers left and that the kid next to us got the last one! Also I had to send back my salmon, I had the chicken wrap instead, there was around a $5.00 difference in price, I wasn't offered a refund. The chicken is good at Luna, no other meat item makes the cut, I've tried their sirloin and ground sirloin it isn't passable now add salmon to the no pass list. The table we sat at was never wiped off after busing, we took it upon ourselves to wipe it off with Wet-Wipes. The table next to us was dirty the entire hour we were there. It was a very unpleasant experience to say the least.

This place has such good food. Everything I have eaten so far from the menu has been made well and delicious. The meat was moist and tasted great. It's my Friday treat to myself to go to lunch here. The people behind the counter have always been polite with out going over the top and singing each word.

I wish I could give this place less than one star. Today I had lunch at luna...and I have finally stopped throwing up long enough to write this review. I guess it is my fault because I really did not think that my meal tasted that fresh. Needless to say I am pretty sure I won't be back. I will say however that the girl behind the counter was super nice and the place seemed really clean.

Ok, did someone really compare this place to Daphne's? Come on. The quality of food at Luna Grill is excellent. Service is on point and the restaurant is clean and bright. I have had the tiger shrimp kabobs (huge, succulent shrimp cooked just right), chicken wrap and a few side dishes. This place is definitely worth trying!

Wife and I ate here with a group of friends (23 of 'em) and we pulled tables together which wasn't a problem. The service was friendly at the ordering counter and when they delivered the food to the table. We had the dinners. Food was hot and delicious. Wife and I plan to go back although it is a bit of a drive from our home. Everyone else seemed pleased with their selection. Nice that they have the coke machines handy and refills are free.

This place is awesome for lunch. The service is always pretty fast, the food is great and the price is very fair. I get the lunch chicken kabob and it comes with rice, salad, pita, hummus, tzatziki and choice of girlled carrot or tomato. It's clean and the staff is friendly. The only thing that irks me a little is: I'm okay with a tip jar for change when you pay cash but I think at a place where you stand in line, order and yes, they bring it to you, it's tacky to have a space on the credit card slip for a tip. I know it's mostly younger kids and they work hard but why do I have to feel guilty for drawing a line through the "tip" space? I'd drop my change in the jar if I paid cash but... I dunno, when I was their age and I worked at Blockbuster, there was no "tip" line on the receipt so you could help me with gas money.

Love it! I finally made some time to try Luna Grill the day before yesterday. It was so good that I went back again today and took my husband with me. We loved the food. The first day, I had the chicken lavosh wrap with a side of the chicken lemon soup. Today I had the chicken kabob plate (I'm trying to eat healthy for the new year - hence all the chicken). As a persian, I totally crave kabob and there are no good options where we live. I also love the uber trendy atmosphere and the digital menus and yes, even the Dyson hand dryers in the bathroom. We totally need more fun places like this to eat in Cbad.

I'd rather give it more like- 2.5 stars. The food is pretty decent. It's fresh, good quality, though over priced. Service is mediocre. The one major plus is that they have Peroni beer which I love!

Love this place. We eat lunch here at least once a week, and haven't been disappointed once. Great, friendly service, and outstanding food. I love their salads, their rice and kebabs are consistently delicious. They're also very reasonably priced, and their food is free of hormones and antibioticsI have a lot of vegetarians in my office, and they love the selection of food available to them. I recommended that my friend use them to cater her Superbowl party, and it was a raging success. The manager even delivered the food! All in all I'm thrilled they moved into my neighborhood.

This is a relatively new place. I went for lunch with a co-worker. It's a decent place and good for a change when you get tired of eating at the other places in the area. The owners did a nice job of decorating and making the place feel modern and clean. I liked the urban atmosphere, but the food was just so/so. I had a combo plate with Falafel and Gyro meat. I think the portions were smaller than I am used to at other mediterranean places. The two falafel on my plate were very, very dry and the size of golf balls. The Gyro meat was tasty, but there wasn't enough of it. The salad, also too small and served with too much dressing. I've had better....but I may go back once I grow tired of Rubios, Board & Brew, and Froots that are in that strip.

I have been to Luna Grill several times. On the whole, the food is good. If you are in a hurry tho, it can take a while to get your food. I would give it another star except for the fact that the last time I went, the grilled whole tomatoe they used to give you turned into a half of a dried up thing that was rubbery. I used to love the whole juicy grilled tomato. Its too bad they are cutting back by giving out a measley dried up half of tomato. I complained and they brought me another half but it was still dry and no where as good as their original plump grilled tomatoes. I like the flat chicken on the skewer, the regular chicken is ok too and their hummus is good. The salad that comes with is so so. Not that tasty. All and all the place is clean and the meat is fresh. The rice is always good if you like plain rice.

Some of the juiciest chicken from a restaurant i have had and they are very consistent with their quality. The only con is their fresh grilled items sometimes take awhile during lunch which is why i usually call ahead for take away. Ask to sign up for their frequent dinners program for $10 off every $100 you spend!

Good gyros and really, really good fries. In fact, best fast food fries that I've had (they're McD's style but better). Oh yeah, their salad dressing is strange and not recommended.

I love the food here, everything tastes marvelous but the service ALWAYS SUCKS when you go @ Noon. I work near here so we offer to get take out orders to bring to our clients. We online order it, I drive to pick it up at the designated time and ALWAYS have to WAIT AT LEAST 10-15 or 20 minutes for the order which invariably has something wrong or an item missing. Standing waiting for my food watching the 'expediters' I can't help but notice that they are TREMENDOUSLY disorganized...I think we'll have to take this place off of our preferred list due to this fact unless we are serving lunch to our clients a bit later...... bummmer because as stated I LOVE the food!

I frequent this place because I really like the food here. It's tasty and healthy. BUT, yes, the service is terrible. It will be slow - so dont come here if you are in a hurry. Yesterday, I waited 20+ minutes for a chicken kabab kids meal to go. They will sometimes screw up your order, giving you rice instead of fries or forget your pita bread. The hummus is sooo good though. I give this place 4 for the food and 1 for the service = so 2 1/2 stars. I rounded up. :)

as a fairly new lunch option in the area this place is generally packed and loud! expect a wait if youre there during prime lunch time. everything i've had has been good, greek salad, kids grilled cheese, gyro, baklava... and really good fries! sitting outside is better, definitely quieter.

Luna Grill was very clean, I really like the look of the interior. It's location is easily accessible. The staff was very friendly and my food arrived quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed my Gyro sandwich that I ordered, the sauce on it was delicious and healthy too! This restaurant is a great addition to the Carlsbad area, glad it's in my neighborhood.

Nice and shiny new, but the food had zero flavor! The humas was terrbile and so were the Gyros. The 1st time I went they totally messed my order up. Gave it a second shot and still would only give 1 star. It comes down to how the food taste, and it had none. Go to Nikkos off Melrose in Vista, very authentic greek food and amazing gyros!! Dont waste your money at Luna Grill ( a bit pricey too)
