The food was absolutely phenomenal! It is every time I eat there. Service is wonderful, people are extremely nice. It really shows through the quality of their service and food that they care, and want you to have a great experience with them and come back over and over. They are huge in the community and do catering as well! I recommend this place to anyone in the area. Anything on the menu is always cooked/prepared to perfection. I don't like slaw on anything, but here.. I love it! They also have a vast offering of sauces. I like the "southern heat" because I like spicy/hot sauce. They do have something for everybody though, so if you're in the area, definitely stop in!

Come for the meat the side dishes are plain jane. Don't bother coming in after 6 pm even though they say they are open until 7. Their crew starts shutting down and even if they have the food, you'll be told "the frier is off" etc. Only anticipate being able to purchase what can be zapped warm in a microwave.

I honestly want to give more stars but the reality is that this is the second time here and both times were a solid mediocre. This time was a Sunday afternoon and two staples of BBQ were completely unavailable (brisket and fries), and what we did have was either reheated or frozen. I can see where the food would be awesome if I were to catch it freshly prepared but until then I'll stick with this rating. Side note: great bottled beer selection!

I travel the Truckee to the Bay Area Rout frequently and this spot is worth the stop. Its a tad off the "main drag" but it is worth it. Loved the sides too! Side Note: gas and Dutch brother's coffee close too...so it's a gas up, sip up and eat up stop!

Today Bam Dazy catered our company lunch, and it was Delicious ! We had pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese, slaw, and the most unique and amazing potato salad I've ever tasted. I can't wait to head up to Auburn to try their other selections.

Two stars because my husband liked his chicken and the crew were really nice and prompt. I'm sorry, but I don't know how everyone gives this place such good reviews. I had the brisket sandwich with beans and cornbread. The sandwich was pretty darn dry and greasy. Sauces mediocre. Hot one ok, but others nah. Beans were decent and cornbread so so. Son had pulled pork nachos and said they were boring and dry. Chips, nacho cheese and pork. Sorry, I really wanted to like and support a local biz.

Root Beer, spicy pineapple, hog glaze, black berry, southern heat, are some of the names of the sauces they have here. Clearly, the owners are experimenting with sauces, which I really appreciate. The sauces tend to be a bit on the sweet side of the flavor spectrum. The food is very good and the portions are nicely sized. Not too large to create either a great deal of waste or the sense that one must gorge themselves. The sweet potato fries were a pleasant surprise. The dining area is a "smallish" but apparently adequate as most of the people seem to be getting food to go. There is often a line to order and the staff does an excellent job of being attentive to their customer's needs.

I usually like everything to eat here but their staff can't seem to get it together. I always try to phone in my order on my lunch break and no one picks up. Very frustrating to drive down to their location when their website says they are open and either no one is at the store or employees are outside the restaurant waiting for someone to come with keys. Badly managed maybe they should shut the restaurant down and cater only. If you do swing by avoid the pulled pork nachos gross! Brisket is the best thing on the menu and when you are in the mood it usually hits the spot. Their fries are very crispy as well. Sucks they can't be consistent in portion size or customer service though.

This is the real deal. If you dont like this place, you don't like BBQ. I'm from the south. BBQ is a quest for me. The holy grail. I've eaten BBQ in places like the Salt Lick in Driftwood TX, Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, Iron Works in Austin, Fat Matts in Atlanta, Interstate BBQ in Memphis, and on and on. The ribs here are on the money and stand up to the best. Seriously. This is great BBQ. Go. Go Now.

Bam Dazy provided the menu for a party of about 15 people providing brisket, chicken thighs, beans, potato salad and cole slaw. Rave reviews all around for everythong other than the slaw. But we didn't have much of a vegetarian crowd so I'm giving it 5 stars and would certainly recommend Bam Dazy to a friend.

The best Brisket I have ever had. Their home made sauces are to die for.

Pulled pork with unique sauces! Try the potato salad, it's the best I've had. Staff gave a desert treat free to my daughter.

We eat here every time we head toward Auburn, about once a month. It's worth the drive. Authentic BBQ. We have tried most everything, my fav is the St. Louis ribs, my husbands, the brisket. Family owned & run & casual. Just like a great BBQ place should be.

  • Katie T.

Best BBQ anywhere! The beef brisket, ribs, chicken, ribs...it's all phenom! The sauces are all so amazing! Go in and eat there and slather on all the wonderful sauce your heart desires as each table has bottles of sauce on them. The restaurant is clean and comfy as well. The beans. The beans, like seriously, those beans! Just try them! They are to die for! The Bam Balls for appetisers are these tasty little explosions of tater tots in your mouth, worth every calorie! Love me some Bam Dazy!!

I'm a bit confused by all the glowing reviews. I love local places, but this was just not good (except for service). Ribs: chewy dry and fatty at the same time - how did they manage that? Sauce: didn't like any of them. Coleslaw : well you can shred some cabbage and call it coleslaw I guess. Mac and Cheese: decent, but I've had better at the Sacramento Airport. $17 for a beer and lunch I didn't eat? Umm, not again.

Bam Dazy was hired to cater to a staff of 160 employees. Bam Day is professional and extremely customer service oriented. The food was delicious and the serving size generous. The business transaction was wonderful and we look forward to our next large event with Bam Dazy.

  • Matt C.

The chicken is really good with the "Blackberry" sauce, but the sweet potato fries are to die for. One thing to remember: Smoked BBQ chicken is supposed to be "pink" color and this is "fall off the bone" tender, so don't get upset because the chicken doensn't "Look" done. Taco Tuesday is a great deal: for $1 each the pulled pork tacos are wonderful even with a flour tortilla. Love the mac n' cheese.....now if only they had a burger on the menu, I'd forget about "Hanks" forever!

Very decent bbq!! On the drive up to North Auburn me and a few folks were getting hungry so this was the place that was decided upon to eat. We had to take it togo because we arrived moments before closing. Anyhow, even though we got the last of the grub, which may or may not have been sitting in the warming trays nearing the expire time, it still was very very good food! I look for places like this that make it good even to the end! Thank you Bam Dazy! When I'm in the Auburn area again and want some good bbq, I'll be there! Ohh, my visit was about a month ago.

I don't usually go to a lot of bbq restaurants but this one caught my eye so we ventured off our trail to come to bam dazys. I got a pulled pork sandwich, onion rings and Mac and cheese. My boyfriend got smoked chicken, ribs and brisket. He couldn't even talk because he was enjoying his food so much and I tried with all my might to even get halfway through one onion ring because the pulled pork and macaroni were so great that it left little room for much else. 5 stars ..

My family and I ate here for the very first time tonight. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. We couldn't decide what we wanted so we ordered a little of everything. We had more food than our family could eat for less than $50. That is a bargain for our family of 8! The beer available was no ordinary beer, it was bottled beer from SF - beer I haven't had in years. I can't believe I found such a treasure of food and beer and this little BBQ place. More than I expected and it didn't break my budget.

We traveled to auburn to join the Sweetheart run with C&E motorcycle shop and we were starving. We decided to try out this restaurant and were encouraged to try The pork sliders and fries, the flavor and portions were outstanding, great prices and very friendly staff. Loved this place. Great outside seating and plenty of room inside. Can't wait to go back and try the ribs.

It is easy to find bad BBQ, there is so much of it out there...but you are not gonna find it at Bam Dazy! I am not the type that really cares for sauce bombed BBQ, from my point of view the meat should stand on its own. A good rub and a slow smoked meat is the best in my book. This BBQ hit the target! And for you saucy types, there is a selection of interesting sauces including blackberry, and root beer and others... Coleslaw was middle of the road neither sweet nor vinegar based--good. Sweet potato friends were fresh, spicy and yummy! The onion rings were gigantic...clearly freshly cut... The fried chicken was fresh, crispy a moist...the trifecta! The BBQ was smoky and moist, just the it should be... Service was friendly, prices were excellent for quantity and quality of food. Not sure what more you could ask for?

Rib tip sandwich was amazing be sure to get a side of coleslaw! Rob plate with beans and Mac n cheese a must!

This is an AMAZING BBQ place! Yesterday Bam Dazy catered my wedding in Coloma, CA and the food was so good! Not only that but they arrived early and ready to go - they were so professional and friendly too! My husband and I raved about them, as well as our guests. We did the smoked chicken thighs (perfectly cooked and juicy), brisket (so delicious with the hog glaze), and the potato salad and baked beans. The rolls for a side were incredible too. I cannot say enough about this restaurant - food is always great as well as their service. I highly recommend them as a caterer too!!!

  • Mike S.

Pulled pork does not taste like bbq. In fact it has no taste. I would not call this a bbq restaurant. The bbq sauce is good but putting sauce on regular food does not make it bbq. No smell of bbq in restaurant at all.

Enjoyed everything we had here and we had a little bit of everything! The potato salad was awesome and also the sweet potato fries!

Nice fried chicken. The staff was super friendly as well. Baked beans and potato salad are delish.

Stopped here today after hiking near the North Fork of the American River. I ordered the pork ribs w/ beans. The beans were ridiculously good - they alone were 5 star worthy. The ribs were super tender and had a lot of meat, they came without BBQ sauce - and they don't need any. Staff was nice, prompt and were quick to point out that their fryer was down so fried foods wouldn't be available (which is a good thing for my diet because I would have been tempted). Prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be back - probably after next weekends outdoor adventures up the hill :) If you haven't been here, you should definitely add it to your list.

Pulled pork nachos are amazing!!! The blackberry bbq sauce is awesome! I have used them as well twice to cater our events- very yummy!!!!

Id actually give my first visit here a 3.5. I had the tri tip platter with potato salad and beans. The beans were the best ive ever had. The potato salad was different than anuthing ive had...I think there was bbq sauce in it. Kinda strange to me but not at all inedible. Ok now the meat. It was GOOD!!! My only issue is it was kinda fatty and other tri tips ove had and even made myself werent like that. The hog sauce? Omg amazing. So good!!! A little sweet...a little heat...just perfect. Ill def go back!!

such great meat! and fresh fried okra that was delicious. We really loved it. Even the potato salad and smoked mac and cheese were great - something that could have easily slipped by. It's obvious these folks care. We'll be back! Best barbecue I've had in years

It just wasn't that good. I've eaten here about three times and the food has been just okay at best. One time we all got pulled pork sandwiches and it was really bad. The meat is dry and the price is average. I can walk to this place it is so close to my house, but I would rather drive across town to the other small BBQ place.

  • Dee D.

Got the ribs and two sides......what's the big deal. Wasn't impressed and a bit over priced. Lots of different sauces to choose from, but if it wasn't for the sauce, there was very little flavor to the ribs. They were dry and on the verge of being jerky, if not for the sauces. The sides were OK, potatoe salad and mac n cheese. Maybe I'll try again, the pulled pork or BBQ chicken.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to eat at this spot, but I'm a fan! BBQ is never my first choice, but Bam Dazy makes me consider it on a more frequent basis. The food here is delicious! Their Cuban Sandwich and Pulled Brisket Sandwich are flavorful and the portions are large. The brisket is so tender and tasty, as well as their pulled pork. There are many choices of sides, from beans-coleslaw-fries-cornbread-hush puppies to name a few, and there are many more. Like daily specials? Their take on a burger is always original and plentiful, oftentimes with an onion ring added in there just for fun. I love their homemade BBQ sauce, specifically their Hog house and blackberry. Bam Dazy has won multiple awards for their BBQ and they also cater events. I really can't say enough about this little place. My next "try" is the Fried Chicken...no the Ribs! Or the Pulled Pork tacos/chimichanga. No wait...maybe I'll have their BBQ Chicken? Hmmm....

Was in the mood for BBQ and yelped some choices. I chose here over the others because they were one of the few that didn't douse their meat in sauce. On fathers day we pull up at 1130 into this dinky parking lot they share with Indian Motorcyles. There is only maybe 10 parking spaces but their dining room does not hold much more either. They have 4 tables and counter seating along the back wall. It allows for about 30 people but really only 20 comfortably on the inside. Anymore would be severely cramped. There are a few tables outside. I was craving some Brisket from Jamies Grill on Broadway so I got the Brisket plate $12.99 and my husband is always a rib lover so he got the St Louis Ribs $13.99. Both came with two sides. We chose Mac n Cheese and potato salad. Well my brisket was no Jamies. It was a shredded mess and MUCH smaller than I had anticipated for the price. My husbands ribs were very good and tender. I believe there were 4 or 5 different sauces to choose from a squeeze bottle. None of them that I really liked and all were very sweet. I wish they had just a regular smokey flavored sauce that was neither sweet or spicy. The mac n cheese was very cheesy. I usually find them to be very dry at other BBQ places when they make their own which makes me wonder if they are made from scratch? because they are very reminiscent of the Mac n cheese I have had at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The potato salad was definitely homemade but had olives in it that I wasn't fond of and the potatoes were so undercooked that I could feel the hard edges in my mouth and had to spit it out. Overall I think they were just good. Nothing memorable but because they also have burgers/sandwiches and some interesting items like stuffed tator tots, I would go back again but in no hurry to do so.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. But, I'll never understand why you have a vegetarian working the order counter. This person was very nice and all, but it's just plain wrong to hear, "I don't know, I'm a vegetarian" when one asks for menu recommendations at a BARBECUE restaurant. Don't get me wrong: I'm not trying to be a vegan-hater, but you're harshing my meatapalooza buzz whilst I'm immersed in the goodness of smoked meat smell with your life choice statement that clearly does not belong in this environment. Ribs: best ever. Brisket: amazing. Sweet potato fries: fantastic. Pulled pork: great. Sauces: ran out of positive adjectives. Go next door and buy an Indian from Carlo when you're done.

Came here for lunch today with the hubby for father's day and was severely disappointed! The nachos were stale chips with store bough nacho cheese with a pile of flavorless pulled pork. Thank goodness we ordered a side of Cole slaw which my husband dumped on his nachos to give it some flavor. I had the brisket melt which has again flavorless meat and very little of it.. most bites consisted of just bread. The worst item would be the mac and cheese which tasted pretty similar to the Gerber graduates my 2 year old eats. Besides the food... we sat outside and when our food was ready she knocked on the window to tell us to come get in. A customer held the door open so my husband could bring it out... no smiles or friendly faces or customer service in general. We won't be back!

All I can say is WOW. Amazing bbq. Great smokey pit flavor and amazing quality. I had the brisket plate on the recommendation of the girl at the counter as well as the potato salad and bbq beans, also recomended. Excellent all around and a great value at $11.99. They give you plenty of meat and have 3 different types of homemade bbq sauce you can put on yourself. Great, friendly service and appealing and clean establishment! Keep up the great work, I will be back soon!

Great bbq! Half chicken was so good and the beans were so good I wanted to lick the bowl to get every bite!

I've eaten here at least 10 times and have NEVER been disappointed. No matter what you get, it's gonna be good. My fav is the brisket - just so flavorful. They've got the best baked beans I've ever had (my ma agrees and she's got 50+ years of bean sampling experience). In fact, their side dishes alone would make a fine meal. I recommend them for lunch, catering, & bringing home dinner :) Cute dog pics too.

Being a first time customer and referred to this place by my friend I was very excited to go in last night and try out the food. To my surprise I arrived at 6:40 I was told I have to take the food to go because they were closing and needed to clean the dining room. As a business owner myself I felt not welcomed and left there with a bad first impression. Needless to say I never got to taste the food. Maybe one day I'll go back and give it a second chance.

If ever in Auburn, this is the place to hit up. They have a new Ledoux Burger! It is mouth watering good! I will definitely be coming back! The owner even came out and asked how we liked it!

I just went here today for the first time. The food is exceptional and I really like that the owner tends to think outside of the box. He has a barbecue sauce the tastes like root beer and it is really awesome especially with the fries. The meat was very well cooked and the spices and flavor did not overpower the texture. This really is a great restaurant and I'm glad I found some good barbecue around Auburn. The sauces are great and the quality of food is great. And the owner is a nice guy and you can tell you're supporting small business which is always good for me. I cannot wait to come back, as I love good barbecue. You cannot go wrong if you eat here. The portion sizes are very fair and the prices are too. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was great. The baked beans here are out of this world and I'm not just saying that. They're probably in the top three I have ever eaten.

My friends and I went on a snow-day-trip top sugar bowl and we stopped by here for dinner. honestly, in my opinion, based on the price and quality of the food that I ordered I would have probably given a 4 stars but I guess, some of the items that my friends ordered didn't satisfy lots of them so I have to be fair and give a 3 stars. I ordered the pork ribs combo with mac and cheese and onion rings! The portion was quite large. The ribs were smoked with dry rubs and they had bbq sauce on the table. It was quite tasty but although it was not the best I've had (well...I frequent Texas SMokehouse in San Jose and Phils BBQ in San Diego..both have legit bbq!). The onion rings were actually pretty good too. I liked that they were not heavily battered. The Mac & Cheese was meeehh though. A bit too thick on the cheese and a bit too mushy for my taste. One of us ordered the fried chicken plate and WOW!!! I think there were like 4 pieces and lots of fries.. really good portion for the price too! (It was like 9.99 I think). I was bummed that the only veggie dish they had was fried okra...no corn on the cob (not in season I guess) and no collard green. I like meat but I want some veggies too. One friend ordered the Cuban Sandwich and it was not that good... and the brisket plate had very little meat on the plate and my friend thought the meat was too dry. Certainly not a bad find.. the bathroom was clean! the place was small and most people ordered to go but it's certainly a descent stop to grab a bite b4 heading back home from our snow trip :)

What a find! We recently got a house in the area, and was looking for a BBQ place. If we didn't have our GPS, we would miss this little gem over and over again! It's tucked into the corner of a little place that is dominated by a motorcycle store. The best thing about this place are the sauces. Your meat does not come drenched in sauce, it comes "naked". They have over 5 different sauces to choose from, where you can put as much or as little as you choose. I'm sure these sauces are homemade, as they all have a very special individual flavor. They ranged from hot hot, to sweet. I liked the Spicy Pineapple, my husband the HOT, and my friend the Root Beer! The brisket was like butter, so tender. Side sides were all amazing, and the staff are so friendly. We were ordering family style, and they explained that the orders we were getting were individual, so we might want to order and extra plate of something else. That was nice to know. The leftovers were even better the next day, and even got to take home extra sauce, as they provide little containers for the sauces. So happy to know about this place!

After a spur of the moment trip up to Scotts Flat Lake with my daughter, her husband and three small children we were all hungry and looking for a place to eat on our way back to Sacramento. As we were heading back and naming all sorts of places we saw Bam Dazy BBQ and did a u-turn and boy are we glad we did!!! Between the six of us we just about managed to order all the different types of meats and most of the sides and every one of them were fantastic!!! Although I didn't catch his name, I know that I was served by the owner and he was very accommodating I will say this though, if you are not used to this style of BBQ, give it a chance. I personally like it better. Most people see BBQ and expect tons of sauce dripping everywhere, well you won't find that here. These meats are dry rubbed and smoked and the sauces are served on the side. I read some bad reviews here I just can't see the justification for them. Honestly, I'm usually the first person to send a meal back if there is anything wrong with it. Again, we ordered six different ones so we can get a little of each and they were all great!! The only negative to this place is the water served comes from a sink and not the soda fountain. Having worked in restaurants in the past I know that it's an easy fix. This is just a small place, nothing fancy, just real good food and friendly people.

Just ate here for lunch. Pretty good barbecue at a decent price. I ordered the rib lunch plate. Ribs were smoked and rubbed and were quite flavorful without sauce. They were tender but not falling off the bone. Sauces were good but not great. Also the meal came with a side and small drink. I would definitely eat here again. The tri-tip is next on my list. Yum. Yum.

Had some bbq here this weekend. The chicken was really dry on sat for.lumch, I mean really dry. They had a spicy bbq sauce that was great and helped out the chicken but man it was dry!! Now the pork ribs were really great! Moist and full.of flavor. The customer service is a little weak but I will try them again.

The meat is far superior to the meat at the local BBQ place in Grass Valley. Cole slaw was killer. Mac an cheese was mediocre as was the sauce selection. Overall it was yummy

I waited till my second time eating their food to make a review. I have to say, i am kinda disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but just not what i expected, so I'm not sure if it's that i have too high of expectations or that it's just mediocre. The first time i had them, i called in a pick up order and my father picked it up. I had the cuban sandwich with onion rings and Cole slaw. I got the sliders kids meal with fried okra for my daughter and my parents had another sandwich, but i can't recall which ones. The cole slaw wasn't very great. It had some sort of strong spice over powering the flavor, coriander or celery seed maybe? The sandwich though was really tasty. The pulled pork was a bit dry though. The fried okra was good, but honestly a little bland. The onion rings were excellent though. Gigantic and beer battered. I tried some of my mom's Mac n cheese and the potato salad. Both was really good, especially the Mac n cheese which had a yummy smoky taste. Overall it was petty good and the gal on the phone was really nice. Only bummer was that my dad forgot to grab the sauces to try. The next visit my husband went and ordered there to take home. He said the service was real good, but his brisket was super fatty. I watched him cut away almost half of it so for the price that was a disappointment. I didn't try his beans, but he said it was just ok. I did try his Mac n cheese, but it wasn't the same as the last time. It was lacking the smoke flavor and the noodles were really over cooked. I got the Cole slaw again, forgetting that i wasn't a fan last time and it was the same, as overpowering spice flavor. My brisket melt was only ok. I wish i got the Cuban again because the brisket was really dry and over powering of smoke flavor, plus the bread was a little burnt. Potato salad was good again, but it wasn't put in a separate container so it was a little runny from being next to a warm sandwich. It was better the next day after being in the refrigerator. The chicken strips i got for my daughter was excellent. This time, My husband did bring home the different sauces, but i just wasn't thrilled over them. The spicy southern was the only one i liked cause the others w just way too sweet for my taste, but the spicy southern was way too spicy to even think about giving to my daughter. Overall though, between the real hits and real misses, it averaged just ok. And i was sort of disappointed that even though the website lists fresh fruit as an option for a side, they don't offer it for the kids meal. I mean, fruit would be a really healthy option for a kids meal verses the other options. I really wanted to give four or five stars especially since everything is homemade and its a small family owned business, but after spending over thirty dollars each time, i just wasn't impressed enough. If i do decided to go back again, I'll probably try the fried chicken given that the chicken strips for the kids meal was good or just stick with the Cuban.

We used Bam Dazy to cater our wedding and are very happy we did. we had so many guests come up to us and tell us how good the food was. The pulled pork was made good with a variety of sauces. They also had awesome potato salad. Best part? Such great food without a high price. They were one of the cheaper places we found for catering and yet one of the best.

The cheese jalapeño tots were still frozen in the middle. The pulled pork sandwich was just ok. May give it another try. Maybe the tri tip next time.

Sorry, this is going to be long...because it was that good. Wow, one of the BEST finds in a LONG time and I just moved to Oakland with tons of fantastic new restaurants. I've been looking in Oakland for a long time for a good bbq place and have yet to find it. I have the mom & pop shop that I love because of what they do for the community and the food is pretty good but nothing that has knocked my socks off in a long time. While visiting my friend in Auburn we drove by and he mentioned he had wanted to try the place, the logo alone (something my dad would love!) made me want to try it. The girl who was helping us (the one in the pics on the walls) was fantastic, so sweet and helpful. My friends had the pulled pork sandwich, I think they inhaled that before I could even have two bites of mine. Their fries were AMAZING. I had the ribs and fried okra which was honestly to die for. I see some people posting that they felt it was overpriced. Just a tip but if you're nervous about that they have fantastic lunch special pricing which comes with tons of food. I had enough for leftover dinner. Also, i thought the pricing was really reasonable. I've paid at least $5-$15 more in the bay area so maybe these people dont know good pricing on bbq?! Anyways, needless to say it was so good my friend wanted to go back the next day. He had the brisket sandwich which he liked, still loved the pulled pork more. Just as a point of reference on pricing, I ordered the chicken lunch special (which was a TON of chicken and potato salad side which had yummy bacon in it...delish!) and brought home some food for myself and family for football which included 1/2 rack of ribs, 1 lb of brisket (i dont like brisket that much and loved this) and a side order of coleslaw and mac & cheese (mom approved and she doesnt even like mac & cheese) which came out to $50. Super cheap since it provided us with six meals. Ok, so basically try it for yourself but all i've heard out of peoples mouths is...this is the best rib i've ever had. Only flaw...Distance. PLEASE OPEN ONE IN OAKLAND! :)

After driving around Auburn, my boyfriend and I came across this little hole in the wall BBQ joint. I was skeptical at first but went through with it and wow I am so glad I did! I ordered the ribs with 2 sides, Mac and cheese and baked beans, it was all to die for! Absolutely mouth watering! It had such a great taste and you can definitely tell that they put their heart and soul into this food! The meat on my ribs were so tender it was practically falling off the bone! Another plus was that they have me more food than expected, instead of 4 ribs they gave me 6! My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich with 2 sides, Mac and cheese and potato salad, which was also very very delicious! Another great thing about this place was that on each table they give you 3 BBQ sauces to choose from (even though the meat didn't need any, but just to add some even more amazing flavor) the 3 BBQ sauces were; a sweet BBQ sauce (called Hog sauce, that's was my favorite one!), there was one that was spic, and a blueberry kind that my boyfriend loved! Although their prices run a little high, I don't mind paying a little more knowing I'm going to get my money's worth, and it's going to a wonderful place. I would rather pay a little more towards a small restaurant that serves amazing food than going to a food chain that serves crappy food and paying the same amount! So if you are ever in the auburn area and in the mood for BBQ, no doubt give this place a try! You will not regret it!

We're new to Auburn and are hoping to try many of the non-chain restaurants. Bam Dazy is one of our first, and we weren't disappointed. The ribs have a delightfully smoky flavor and are super meaty. We ordered family style: ribs, coleslaw, corn bread, mac cheese, baked beans, potato salad. One of our sons also ordered the brisket sandwich, and he really liked it. All sides were delicious, except for the coleslaw. If you're a dieter, you would love it, but we felt that it needed more sauce and a tad more sweetness. The potato salad has some magical bits in it, maybe bacon? The baked beans were more like BBQ beans, which was a welcome surprise. More smoky and bbq saucy rather than overly sweetened. The corn bread is extra sweet, which we liked. The young man and woman who were on duty this evening were friendly, helpful and courteous. They were apologetic when they had to break the news to us that they were out of pulled pork and fried chicken, which helped ease the blow. We stayed 15 min passed closing, and we didn't feel pressured by them to leave. The owner could probably make the place a bit more cozy. We'll definitely return here, but we've got lots of other mom-top restaurants to visit first, so give us a little time!

When meeting up with three friends passing through the area, I suggested Bam Dazy. I ended up receiving many accolades for the suggestion. You gotta love it when a restaurant makes you look good. I liked the ambience in the restaurant even though there isn't too much decor to speak of. The place has a good vibe. One of my friends is from Portland which is arguably the BBQ capital of the west coast and he confirmed these ribs to be up there with the best. They aren't the fall-off-the-bone style but are perfectly tender with the smoke flavor to satisfy any rib connoisseur. I found the pulled pork and brisket to be unimpressive in comparision; especially the pork. The brisket is very well done but I just prefer Texas style. With some sauce, Bam Dazy's version is quite good. I loved having several homemade sauces to choose from. Speaking of sides, the baked beans were the biggest hit. They are extra tangy and make for good dipping too. The sweet potato fries and onion rings were dynamite. The slaw, potato salad and mac 'n cheese were just ok. I wouldn't recommend the fried okra either but that's just me. Moral of the story: any place which can do ribs this well deserves respect. I look forward to returning to Bam Dazy the next time I have a rib craving.

Great, local BBQ! In a very unprepossessing location on Hwy 49, you can get award winning BBQ pork, chicken & beef that will definitely satisfy your hunger. Bam Dazy has all of these (plates & sandwiches) plus terrific sides. We had the brisket, chicken, burger (pulled pork & angus beef) sandwiches, which were very tasty. Sides of fried okra, potato salad & sweet potato fries, made it even better. The ambience is ok-sparse but clean but the friendly staff equalizes the lack of much decor. Been a couple of times & we'll be back!

I have eaten tons of BBQ over the years and this place is the best restaurant BBQ I have ever had. Super food, super staff and the best thing of all is that it is a local guy and his smoker. No chain restaurant!!! The owner knows what he is doing and is very helpful and you can see he takes pride in his restaurant. If you want BBQ the way it is supposed to be then this is the place. Try the sweet potato fries, they are the bomb. Never had anything that was even close to these. The sauces are not cookie cutter sauces and what is really great, especially with the ribs is that the sauce isn't necessary, they smoke flavor and rubs they use really highlight the flavor profile. My wife had the chicken and it was moist and flavorful, she especially liked the blackberry sauce!!!. Yes I did get a bite but only one!!! Clean, friendly, reasonable prices and good food. What else would you want?

What a find!! We were on our way home from a New Years Weekend at Tahoe. The seven of us were very hungry 'cause all we did was clean the cabin that morning and then jump in the car. We were looking for something in the Auburn area besides an over-priced, greasy Ikeda's burger or an In-N-Out pigout. We Yelped for Barbecue and a weird-named place called Bam Dazy Barbecue came up. Only a few miles off 80 and rated five stars set us on our way. What a find! Brendan and Meghan Sullivan know how to "barbecue". The ribs were some of the best I've enjoyed. My health-conscious teenagers destroyed the chicken and were looking for more. My two pre-teens said the pulled pork was better than mine. I favored the hog glaze, my wife like the blackberry sauce and, of course, the kids like the rootbeer sauce. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were killer, the beans excellent and the coleslaw was not the usual unable-to-eat-because-it-is-sickening-sweet. My wife was happy because the place was sparkling clean. The noise level in our car will never be the same driving through Auburn. I can already hear the kids screaming to go back to the Bam Dazy Barbecure.

Love it! Very casual eating area. I had the brisket, pulled pork and sausage combo. It is a huge platter and I definitely had to take some of it home. The brisket was smoky-tasting and delicious, and the pulled pork was moist and nummy. I tried all of the different sauces and all were good - root beer, blackberry, habanero, to name a few. The potato salad was excellent. My dining companion had the chicken and was in heaven - it fell right off the bone. The service was friendly and efficient too! We'll definitely go back.

Yes 5 stars, no if ands or butts about it. Just had 1 pound of the Pulled Pork, 1 pound of the Tri-Tip and the 1/2 Chicken with their outstanding blackberry BBQ sauce. The tenderness, the smokey flavor, the outstanding sides, absolutely amazing. The baked beans had huge chucks/cubes of tender beef, the mac n cheese creamy goodness. The BBQ chicken had the skin infused with smoke, the tri-tip tender, flavorful and my NEW personal favorite even though I prefer pulled pork. The pulled pork, excellent, tender, and melts in your mouth. NO FAT, NO parts of parts, no garbage tossed in to save money. They have their sauces available to take home in to go cups and each one compliments their tender meat perfectly. Also Bam Dazy meats purchases all their meat from Longhorn Meat's in Auburn, quality through and through. And what you get for your money? Excellent value! We did the family portions, have enough left over for another full dinner tomorrow. A fine way to wind up our gullets for Thanksgiving! Check out their plate selections, and today they had a Pulled Pork Taco Tuesday special, $1.00 each. I have had Corky's from Memphis, Stamey's in Greensboro NC, the excellent southern chain Red Hot & Blue, and one of my personal favorites, Smoke Daddy in Chicago, and Bam Dazy is right there, in fact sorry Corky's Bam Dazy Pulled Pork is top notch. We FINALLY have outstanding BBQ in Auburn, CA and looking forward to trying their ribs and pulled pork nachos. Also, they said they will upgrade their web site to have their menu, and for now you can view the entire menu on the Bam Dazy Facebook page. Oh and Bill V? No disrespect fellow Yelper but perhaps you caught them on an off night? Give Bam Dazy another go on a weeknight and I am certain you'll be impressed. I am sticking my two cents in as we want to see top quality BBQ stick around in Auburn! If you love BBQ get out and get over to Bam Dazy !

First came here during bike night this summer when they had $1 pulled pork sliders and we've been back a few times since then. My husband says they have absolutely the BEST St. Louis style ribs he's had in California and I'm just addicted to their pulled pork sliders...topped with lotsa blackberry glaze! :)

Everything was tasty and hot. Great smokey flavor on their meat and loved the sauces. Sides were great as well. Sorry I was just passing through because I want to go back!

What happened!? We just ordered sliders, ribs and potato salad - instead of the usual pork pulled sand which and macaroni. Really disappointed the buns were stale for the sliders and there wasn't enough coleslaw on them. And the potato salad was just plain strange. It wasn't smooth but sharp with edges - really weird - don't know how to describe it - and it seemed like it had meat in it. I have to honestly say it was the strangest and worst I've ever had. We loved what we had before but not sure we'll be back.

We went to Bam on Saturday (11-24-12). 1st the food - Excellent. My wife and I each had the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Portions were good. The pork was moist and very tasteful. A good selection of sauces. I experimented with a few. The spicy one is VERY spicy....fun to try. I guess I would ask that a basic traditional sauce be added. The potato salad was GREAT. We highly recommend that you try that. I had the Sweet Fries and they were also top notch - large and crispy! My wife really enjoyed the Fried Ocra as well. We've been in a couple times before and the service was always great. This time, the young man at the counter seemed bored out of his mind. Not friendly at all. He was like a computer - or reading a script. He didn't do anything wrong - you just know the difference when people really WANT you in their restaurant and others don't care. To be fair, the other employee (girl) was friendly. I know it's standard to ask the "name" for the order - but really now....we're the only ones in the small place! Also, my wife asked about having a 2-meat plate instead of the 3-meat plate on the menu. Not an option according to the young man. I guess he wouldn't know how to price it, but come on....seems like an easy thing to do! Would have been 5 stars except for the guy behind the counter.

I came here for the first time today (3-23-12). The good reviews are all spot on. The ribs were perfect. I don't mean "perfect" like we, as humans, typically imagine. One bite into this magic meaty wonder and you are immediately taken aback. Colors become brighter, music becomes musicy-er, you struggle to chew from the unnaturally large smile now on the front of your head. Your feeble human mind is trying in vain to comprehend the otherworldly delight making sweet, sweet love to your inferior taste buds. "THIS IS AMAZING!" you will loudly exclaim to startled patrons. Your family will rebuke you for yelling in public with a mouth full of partially masticated farm animal. Casting aside all the manners your parents worked so hard to instill in you, you ignore the hell out of them and scream like a feral man-beast, pounding your chest, as the intense deliciocity temporarily overloads your brains ability to understand social etiquette. This, my friend...this is when you see it. The sauces. Sweet merciful Gary Busy, THE SAUCES. They are all incredible. Like suckling the teat of a bbq'd angel while listening to your favorite song on a sunny day. That will make sense to you after you try it, trust me. Sampling sauce after sweet sauce, you will eventually get to the spicy stuff. One bite of this miracle goo will snap your psyche in twain and thrust it into the cosmos. Galaxies whiz by you, you witness stars being born and dying, you witness the other side of a black hole, which consists of seeing yourself, standing on a table in the middle of Bam Dazy's, absolutely RIPPING a sweet-ass guitar solo with a mouth full of rib magic. The sweet potato fries and potato salad are pretty bitchin', too.

After weeks (months?) of driving by this relatively new BBQ joint right around the corner from my house I finally pulled in and ordered my favorite food - an entire rack of ribs. Got 'em home and I was just blown away - they were so tender, succulent, delicious, and just beautifully done. I could kick myself for not trying them sooner. This place rocks and Auburn is lucky to have a good non-pretentious high-qualtity BBQ joint . The staff is ultra-friendly and very quick. I wish them success and a long stay in Auburn.

HORRIBLE experience!!! The first time I drove down from Grass Valley and they were closes even though they had all their huge open signs out and it was with in business hours. Second time I stopped on my way home to Grass Valley, and ordered food to go. Got home to cold dry pulled pork and cold ribs WITH NO SAUCE. I called and the ditz at the counter freaking FORGOT to tell me that there was a self serve sauce counter... WTF!!!!! Not like I can drive back..I agree with some of the reviews above.. coleslaw was tasteless...mac & cheese is good if you like cheep processed crap, baked beans taste like they came straight from a CAN, and I bet they did. No smokey flavor in the food what so ever, not only that but there is no smokey SMELL in the place, makes me wonder how they are even coking the food, does not seem like it's done on site. BOO on you!!!

I took a chance to try out this little place. I was in for a surprise. The food was incredible. I smoke bbq at home and know a good place when I see one. I ordered a brisket sandwich and it was delicious. I know the skill and labor it takes to smoke a good brisket and this place has it. Good food, awesome staff and reasonable prices....what else can you ask for? I will make this a regular stop for lunch now.

This place is ridiculous (in a good way). At first I was turned off by the fact that the prices were higher in the restaurant than the online menu suggested (and they really should fix that). But my goodness. One bite of those succulent ribs and all of a sudden paying $14 for ribs, fries and a soda didn't seem like such a blow to my college-kid-level pocketbook. To say that this place is "good" would be doing it a disservice: more like massively, ridiculously, borderline-obscenely delicious. I'm going back there this Saturday, which is sooner than either my waistline or my wallet would like, but it's siren call refuses to be ignored.

We are so happy to have found this place! They are on the opposite side of town from us, which means we won't go as often, but it's sooooo good that we will certainly go across town for it. I'm in LOVE with their chicken! Only disappointed once, because they were out of chicken when I got there. I've learned to order in advance. My husband loves their ribs and we haven't tried their brisket yet. The beans are very good. The potato salad and coleslaw sides are not too bad, but not great. The sweet potato fries were good with maybe a little bit too much seasoning. I don't care - LOVE the chicken!!! Love the sauces as well, with the blackberry and the hog sauce being our favorites. Update: we went again tonight and I asked if they could put less seasoning on the sweet potato fries and they were able to do that and they were delicious! Also, my husband tried their mac-n- cheese and really liked it as well! Update: 10/16/2012: We went a few months ago and got sick after eating undercooked chicken - or it could have been the beans. We tried again tonight. I ordered and picked it up on the way home. The ribs that my husband ordered were undercooked and very fatty. He had to put it in the microwave to cook it further. My chicken was burnt and dry, dry dry. Honestly, when I opened up the box I couldn't believe they would have let it out the door - just looking at it you could tell it was overcooked and had been sitting around. We're so disappointed. Had to change the rating from a 5 to a 1 - we won't be back.

Bulldog here, self proclaimed BBQ snob and food enthusiast. This little gem is close to the dog house so I get to gnaw on rib bones on the regular. They have awesome sauces that keep the pups happy and a DAMN good mac'n cheez! The pulled pork is off the hook. Plus it's next to the harley shop. Peep dis place

I don't understand the bad reviews? I've been to bam dazy 4 times since they've opened. I smoke my own meats and bbq all the time so im a pretty tough critic for these places. Everything I've had here is awesome and I will continue to come back every time I pass through auburn.

Good ribs especially when paired with blackberry sauce. Chicken was Very dry; even sauce couldn't save it. Sweet potato fries are good, but nothing super special; I think I saw them take out a bag of them from the freezer; I don't think they make them fresh. The baked beans are less like a traditional style and more in the chili category.

We hired Bam Dazy BBQ to cater my 40th birthday bash. We ordered Pulled Pork, Brisket, hog glaze and the root beer BBQ sauce, as well as their beans, for 40 people. First, let me tell you that it was delivered on time, it was set up for us in containers which kept the food hot, and Brendan was very polite and accommodating! The food was plentiful for my crowd. The quality and flavor of their BBQ is astounding! Seriously, DELICIOUS, moist tender, perfectly prepared meat...this coming from meat lovers, is a complement to their skill of meat-mastery! Their sauces are crafted beautifully, they combined flavors which complement the meat to a tee! I have never had such a tasty meal...even my aunt found herself just pulling morsels of the meat out of the pan without a plate in her hand (she never does that at someone else's house). Bam Dazy BBQ comes highly recommended from my whole family! People were discussing the meat at the party and saying how wonderful it was. I was so glad that I chose them to provide the food for my bash! SMASH HIT! Way to go Bam Dazy!!

I just tried this place today with my son and a couple of friends. I like the casual atmosphere, and a big plus to me is that they let you put your own sauce on your food so you know just how much you want. I had the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and fries. The pork was great, tender and juicy, fries were great with just the right amount of crispness, but I have to say the cole slaw had no flavor whatsoever. There was nothing at all--like just shredded cabbage! I love cole slaw with my bbq and was looking forward to it but disappointed with that. I hope they do change their cole slaw. I had their hot sauce and regular bbq sauce on my sandwich and they were both good. Didn't try the other sauces, but I will next time. My son had the pulled pork nachos, which he really liked and looked so good to me (but he didn't want to share!). Also tried the sweet potato fries, which were wonderful. I'm already planning on what I want to get next time we go there--eventually I want to try everything on the menu! After reading the reviews about the potato salad, I've got to try that, along with the garlic fries and every kind of meat they have in there. Can't wait to go again!
