While visiting U of A, we popped into The Hopyard. We had a vegetarian sandwich, (I think the name was Chuluan?) and two grilled cheese sandwiches for my younger boys. The sandwiches were large and yummy. The kids also indulged in pop, chips and snickerdoodles. We arrived late in the day. They had run out of the chicken parmigiana and meatball sandwiches. I hope to return and try those out.

Locally owned, these guys are fantastic. They are as good as it gets on this end of Fourth Av, and they regularly go above to please their clients! Stop in for a $5 lunch special. Allie and Justin are in the best location, carry the necessities, have good soda and fresh tea selection, and their sandwiches are divine. You cannot go wrong with any of the sandwich options on the menu. The sides compliment the sandwiches well, and they cater! Definitely stop by and try them out, you might find yourself here more often.

The Hopyard Deli & Market is one of those places where local meets amazing. The owners who run this location also make the food. They're the best when it comes to customer service, they're so sweet and considerate. I had the Chicken Parmesan sandwich, bag of chips, with a classic glass bottle of Coke. Freshly baked bread, and made on the spot sandwiches makes this place something to think about. The food tasted absolutely wonderful. They also have a tiny market inside of their restaurant. The location is a great spot, right on 4th avenue, with other local businesses!

The grinders are large and tasty. The bread is crispy where it should be and the vinaigrette is delicious. We had the roast chicken and the pork. Friendly service as well. Minus a star only because they were out of a few menu items and chip options. Probably because U of A is out for the summer.

This place is never open, when they go out of business it will be cuz they were never open during their hours of operation to sell anything.

This is a place is very easy to miss. However, there is a streetcar stop right in front so that makes people notice it a little bit more. Warning, there is no AC so if you're eating there, pick a spot that's near a fan. There was only one fan when I visited but I'm hoping they finally got a few more. I had the special for the which was chicken breast and cheddar cheese, which was toasted. It was very tasty. I really liked how the bread (house-made) had a crunchy exterior but was very soft on the inside which made for a perfect sandwich that wasn't hard to eat. They also had free lemonade. The market selection is a little random but if you live close by and need something from the store, there's a good chance they'll have it.

Quite possibly the best chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. The owners are super friendly and the space is open and airy. Love it!

Terrific sandwiches! I ordered a full East Coast sandwich with a small side of the pesto tortellini. Both were better than I was expecting. I even had half of my sandwich to take home for later :) I've been wanting to check this place out since I heard about their sandwiches from a couple different people. The ingredients used were fresh and delicious. They toasted the bread, meat and cheeses and then added the fresh lettuce and tomatoes on top along with an Italian dressing. It couldn't have been better, I'm looking forward to returning to try something different next time. Loved the water infused with fresh fruit that was complimentary. Nicely cool inside on such a humid day in the Old Pueblo. As good as it gets for this type of sub sandwich IMO. I don't know why anyone would hit a chain sub place when you can get the quality and price of the subs here. The market itself is a little sparse but that wasn't what I was there for; I'll definitely be a return customer. Always love a great sandwich!

Don't buy your sandwich anywhere else if you're near this place. The sandwiches are huge, on fresh baked bread, and the selection is enormous. The owners are gracious and accommodating and will do whatever you want.

Hopyard Market while located ON Fourth Avenue is surprisingly easily missed. I finally made it in for lunch today and even though I new it was a combination deli and market place, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The signage outside is cool and inviting, but once you step inside, the space is a little sparse. Perhaps it's still in the building stages. There are number of small tables, more like outdoor patio furniture spread out in the front of the building and all the way in the back you'll find the deli counter. Here you'll find a large chalkboard menu with a decent variety of grinders, salads and other goodies. I ordered the turkey grinder and my friend ordered a vegetarian sandwich that looked delightful. My sandwich came with oven roasted turkey, shredded lettuce, tomato, horse radish cheddar, mayo and some sort of oil based dressing that was quite tasty! The bread was soft too! I ordered a side of the super food salad which was a mix of broccoli, blueberries and carrots in a coleslaw type dressing. The sandwich was quite large and the side portion very small for an extra $0.75. I can't speak to the vegetarian sandwich other than my friend said it was good and it it really did look good and fresh. I enjoyed my lunch. It was simple and easy and it tasted good. Service is casual as you order at the counter and pay at the counter after you're done eating. The owner was the only one there, taking orders and serving and she was a delight. Super friendly and caring and eager to refill our drinks. While I enjoyed my lunch, I am a little confused about the rest of the setup. As I mentioned, the grocery section is a little sparse. There is only shelve with some cleaning supplies, another with dry goods such as cereals, canned foods and other essentials. They also have two refrigerators with milk, yogurt, juices, cream cheese and few other items I can't recall. They also have a large table in the center with baskets full of produce. I took a quick glance at the product, but I am not entirely sure if it's locally sourced or where it's from. If their intention is to simply carry items that one would need on a whim, then I think I get it, but this is definitely not really a grocer. It's more like a mini convenience store. Even though I think the market place could be boost up the offerings, I really enjoyed my sandwich, and that's what I went for. It was good, well priced and place is friendly. I'm curious to see what will happen with the market place, so clearly I plan on returning and hopefully I'll have an update to Yelp about!

Fantastic Food and Wonderful Service is what the hopyard is all about. Even if it gets busy in there, the quality of food never suffers. You must try the BLT it is amazing!!! If there were more stars available they definitely deserve them. Thanks Ali and Justin for bringing a great deli to Tucson.

Really snappy service, amazing fresh bread, and awesome sandwiches. The owners of this place are really friendly and run specials everyday so you can always get a good meal for a good price. Their homemade lemonade is also the bomb. The times I've visited there have been a few flies flying around though, which is a bit of a sanitary problem, however it stayed away from the food so it didn't bother me.

I love this place so much! I came in not expecting much but right off the bat you can smell the freshly baked bread. Thats right, they bake their very own bread every single day and whatever they don't use by the end of the day, they make into croutons for their salads. And you can really taste the difference between fresh bread and stale/store bought bread. It seriously brings the whole sandwich together. I've had almost every sandwich on the menu and I haven't been disappointed yet. They are pretty big too, I usually get a whole sandwich and eat half of it there and half at home. Their side options are also really good but I haven't had too many of them. I also usually get the hibiscus tea which is unsweetened, so it has a nice tartness to it. The owners are also super nice, by my third visit they had remembered me and the previous discussion we had, asking how I was doing since then etc. I wish the grocery store they have were a more local produce/products friendly but they do have a good selection. And they could use a few more tables that seat more then two people. Otherwise, I love this place and will be going back whenever I so much as get a hankering for a sandwich.

I love this place...super friendly and fresh. I might ask them to consider one sandwich with the meat they put on two. Great bread and sides--my new favorite deli stop on 4th. Try this place out! N

Delicious! The market part of the establishment is quite small but I came for lunch. I had the East Coat Italian, as was recommended, and it was quite tasty! The bread was fresh, warm, and amazing. My husband had the fresh cobb salad which also looked great. Awesome little place to stop in for lunch. We'll definitely be back.

Was looking for something yummy and fast for lunch today when I stumbled upon The Hopyard. I'm no sandwich snob, but I do appreciate a meatball sandwich done right. I decided to give the Hopyard's a try and was not disappointed. They didn't skimp on the meatballs or marinara sauce, which were both well seasoned. The bread was fresh and soft...yum yum! I went with the half, which was more than enough food. I'd love to see a larger, more varied chip selection, but that won't stop me from going back to try their other sandwiches!

Great sandwich selection at this local shop! Plenty big and on really yummy fresh bread. They have recycling for the aluminum, plastic and glass containers for the many drink offerings. The owners work super hard to make everyone happy and are great people. They even have a little shop with fresh fruit and groceries if you need a few things. Try it out!

I noticed their sign outside and went into The Hopyard Deli. It was supposed to be natural and organic food. I mention I never noticed their place before and the Owner said they had been in business there for 2 years and have plenty enough business, in a NOT so friendly tone. That's probably why I was the only person in the restaurant at the time I walked in. I ordered the daily special Genova salami with cheese sandwich. She asked if I wanted spicy mustard on it but it. I said yes. It was not put on and I had to go back to counter and was given a small portion cup of mustard. I also mentioned I did not eat white bread and she said it was made fresh that morning. I thought it was a natural organic restaurant and would not have non-nutritious bleached white bread. They said that's how it came. Oh well I didn't eat the bread and left it in the basket. The salami was very greasy, skimpy and tasteless. The organic coffee was okay. The normal prices for their food seems high for the size of sandwich you got. Although mine was the daily special for only $5. Subway would be a much better value and a better choice. I won't go back and I DON'T recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great value and delicious sandwiches. I had the East Coast Grinder which was awesome. portions are generous; I ordered a full size and I had a decent size leftover to wrap up to take home. I will definitely be back.
