The Potbelly Sandwich Shop just opened near the UA campus. It may seem a little overwhelming when you walk in. It's busy. It's fast. It's loud. It's like a spiffy version of Jimmy John's. Lots more action and many more menu items. This particular location is decked out in University of Arizona memorabilia - block A table tops, University photos and even a wall of portraits of what looks like Potbelly fans. I understand that this is a chain restaurant that started in Chicago. And what luck. I have found that it is difficult to find a decent variety of sandwiches, soups and salads in this general location. I mean, I can only have a $7 tossed salad every once in a while. Wait, what am I talking about?! Actually, never. I am very pleased to see they have so many soups on location. They have broccoli cheddar, chicken noodle, tomato basil, chicken enchilada, garden vegetable and even chili. The sandwich is a hearty and come in a very broad range. Are done in the style of Which Wich, if you can remember that place on University. They have standard sandwiches like the roast beef, meatball on Italian. They also have a pizza sandwich and a grilled cheese and cheddar sandwich, which is what I ordered on my first visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and was pleased to see that it cost less than $6. And it's standard assembly-line style. You choose your bread, regular a multi grain, then your extras and your toppings. Along the way the sandwich goes into the oven. Nice assortment of extras: bacon, mushrooms, all sorts of cheeses an extra meats; onions, tomatoes, hot peppers... and so on. Salad options are looking nice. You can get a salad with grilled chicken, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, blue cheese, walnuts, cranberries, cucumbers... lots of options there. They also have shakes and smoothies and also baked goods, like cookies. The staff is attentive and swift, even though they just had an opening this month. Actually quite surprising for a new restaurant that was built from the ground up. Too often with new openings you will find you're dealing with someone who is still learning how to run the cash register or who's clumsy delivering the order, but none of that here. Seems like a fitting addition to the University area.

I had the roast beef sandwich with condiments. It was DELICIOUS. I added a bag of chips and an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (baked in house) all for under $8. They had an assortment of shakes & smoothies. Maybe I'll try one of those in the future since I will definitely be back. Prices were right. Good was fantastic! The parking can be a little challenging since the lot says reserved for Jack In The Box. Fortunately, I was able to run right in and out without any problems. I saw previous reviews indicating they were super slow with service. I didn't experience that.

This place Is OK, but I dont see what the giant fuss is about. Some of my friends SWEAR by this place, but I don't see the big deal. Their sandwiches are good, but nothing too special. I would definitely compare this to a silver mine sub.

I am so excited that they are opening many new Potbelly locations in Tucson. This one is located near the UofA campus, but pretty central right off Speedway with a decent amount of parking. If you haven't been to Potbelly, let me tell you, you are missing out. It is my favorite fast food-ish sandwich joint. Similar to Quiznos, but better than Subway. They have meat and vegetarian sandwich options and your choice of white and wheat bread. If you watching your carbs, order it "skinny" with 1/3 less bread (scooped out). My usual is the turkey on wheat. The turkey is piled high and grilled with swiss cheese. Then comes the fun part, the toppings. The spicy peppers are my favorite (I have purchased take home bottles in the past!!) They also offer salads, soup, cookies and milkshakes. Each sub is about $6, which is reasonable for the quality and taste! This location has only been open for 3 weeks, but they were on top of it. Fast, friendly service. Also, the location is nicer than most, with newer fixtures/seating etc. I won't dock a star, but I do like the breakfast sandwiches that are offered at some of their other locations. So if they could eventually add that, awesome!

Great sandwiches, smoothies and shakes! The atmosphere of the one on university is very college-y of course. Would highly recommend and I will be returning often.

I love Potbelly. Grew up with in Chicago so I was ecstatic to see that there was one coming to Tucson. Wait! Not one, but THREE locations here in Old Pueblo! I frequent the Park Ave location a lot, like way more than I should. The tuna sandwich is my old trusty but I recently discovered the Buffalo Grilled Chicken and that is also to die for. The chili is phenomenal and the shakes are scrumptious. ALWAYS GET A COOKIE. The oatmeal chocolate chip one is probably the best cookie I have ever had, but the sugar cookie is pretty tasty too!

All I have to say is OMG the raspberry lemonade. Haha went here twice already this week and will probably go again today haha I love their sandwiches and I am traumatized because I am only in town for a week and this has become my favorite hot sandwich place.. Probably EVER! Seriously the Grilled Chicken and Cheddar sandwich with the peppers is heaven sent, and The Wreck is just a train wreck of awesomeness! The customer service is great and I had the pleasure of meeting their District Manager Lorrie who was such a welcoming character! Also a big thank you to Octavio for being patient with my team and I. We were so clueless! PotBelly is a must!

Tastes just like Chicago. I first ate at Potbelly's when I did my undergrad in Chicago (mid-2000s), and now every time I fly in I go through Midway airport (as it has a Potbelly's, but that's definitely not my only reason for flying into Midway). I got my favorite: the Wreck (lots of meat). I'm not giving it the full 5 stars because service was extremely slow (and I was 1 of 2 people ordering), but I'm going to chop that up to it being a new location and the employees figuring out the way things work.

Really good sandwiches, always fast, and very cheap! My favorite is the Italian with everything on it. Delicious, and for $5 two people can share it for lunch and it fills us up! I haven't tried anything besides the subs, but the shakes look delicious.

Sandwiches at this place are very tasty, if a bit slow to come good. Decent sized menu. Always a fan of make your own options. Love the root beer on offer; ICB is a good choice. Decent place, well priced... No delivery is my only negative.
