Pockets is like my favorite comfy sweatshirt. It's the perfect place to come after a hard day at the office to unwind and relax. It really is where everyone knows your name. It's like my second home. Scratch that, it's home, my house is where I go to sleep and bathe. The core regulars here are like family. The staff always go above and beyond. Want a drink that's not on the menu? They'll make it. Specialty alcoholic beverages, hot chocolate, hot tea - no problem. Want food items that aren't on the menu? A veggie platter, a salad with a strange combo of ingredients? They'll make it. With a smile. Just don't ask me about pool. I've never played. This is where we come to kick back and pop open our laptops to get work done after hours. Yes, that's us, we're the weirdo's in the corner of the bar, working. Never having fun, ever. Nope. Not us.

Wanted to correct a couple of things I answered as a first time visitor. There is outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly. My bartender, Danny, is super friendly and helpful. The customers also seem friendlier than the average joes and James. Liking my first time visit.

My husband and I visited pockets looking for a drink and a few games of pool. We went during the early afternoon, and the place was clean, and there were several regulars that were playing pool on the hourly rental tables. I ordered a margarita and my husband a pitcher of beer. The bartender was left alone on the first day, and was asking me how to make a margarita! I told her I would just wait until the owner returned in about 10 minutes, and that way she could learn the proper way for future reference. It was worth the wait! And, the owner came by to talk with me and make sure I was happy! Stellar service, full selection of foods (even salads!), and a lovely patio. Will be visiting this bar again! $1 game of pool or you rent tables by the hour.

This is a new, cool, clean spot. $ 10.00 / Per table per hour is not bad. Tables are clean, Sticks are straight and smooth. Cheap date!, better bring her here than taking her out to a movie theatre I must say.... But at least you can "TEACH" her how to Hold a "STICK" Parking lot is spacious, they have a smoking room section so it won't smell indoors. Friendly staff. They have a music box.

After a long day, I came here with a coworker to grab a drink. I'm not a pool player, so we just sat at the bar. I was immediately greeted by a friendly bartender who got my drink order and my drink to me very quickly! The drink specials were pretty good, $2 wells on Tuesday nights and they have different specials every day of the week. The place was full of people of different ages, the music was lively, but not overpowering. The staff is very prompt and polite. I also had their chicken wings! Super tasty but could use a little more spice. Overall, it hit the spot though. This was my second time at Pockets and I really think it's a hidden gem on the east side of Tucson. Good place, good food, good drinks and good people. Definitely gets 2 thumbs up from me!

Hey ladies, this ones for you! On Wednesday night is ladies night starting at 6. Well what does that mean you ask? Free. Unlimited. Pool. All you need is a vagina (but I'm sure if you try hard enough you don't need that). If your like me then you love pool, because yes fellas us ladies like to whack little balls with sticks too. Granted it is a sausage fest, and an older crowd, who cares?! We are all here to enjoy pool and a cold beer. Which they have plenty of, and if you do get there before 7 you have an hour of cheep booze and free pool and chill vibes. Always a good time.

I really don't think there's a negative thing to say about Pocket's....well the parking is a little ghetto but easily overlooked. I can remember playing here when I was in High School and learning how to play (back in 1999) and before that it was Troy's Billiards. Lenny and the group are fantastic, take care of their tables and their customers. It's cheap, has good food and good drinks and you won't find a bunch of stupid kids ruining the tables (I'm looking at YOU Main Street which is thankfully closed). If you wanna get away and shoot some stick on REAL tables, this is the place.

Pockets is a great pool hall. The place is clean well managed and well taken care of. I generally go in about midday and it costs only $8 for for the entire day. They have a full bar and snack bar as well. They also sell pool cues and supplies. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get back into playing pool or just learning how to play pool. It's a great place to meet new friends.

Tasty spicy meatball sandwich. Not sure I've ever seen a serving staff smile as much as this team. They really seemed to like working at Pockets and serving us. Sit at the bar and note how the regulars and staff get along, like friends running into each other on a Friday night. Pool tables by the hour are pretty expensive but coin-op were fine for anyone of my skill level (zero) to get schooled by my coworkers. Strangely the juke box went quiet shortly after we started playing, but a loud phone playing 80's just about covered it for our table, at least. Worth a stop if you're looking for a neighborhood place or a regular after-work happy hour get-together.

Went to pro shop to add weight to my pool cue. Lenny was very friendly and helpful. He also shaped the tip for no extra charge. The place looks very clean and well maintained. I recommend it.

This is pretty much where I started my love for 9-Ball tournaments. I played a LOT there...and by a lot, I mean sometimes 5 - 7 hours a day on the weekends. The whole set up is interesting. Doesn't feel quite right but it doesn't feel quite wrong either. The place itself is VERY clean and neat though. The parking lot can feel a tad bit shady at times, but don't worry...nothing's happened to me (or my car) while I was there. It's typically an older crowd, so if you're wanting to meet other young pool enthusiasts, there are other pool halls in town that might suit your needs better. I miss Pockets!

I have driven past this place a million times and never knew what it was. Maybe a place that's really into hot pockets? Pita pockets? Ahhhh.... Pool table pockets. It's all coming clear. The outside doesn't really give you a hint of what could be inside, but maybe that's just my opinion... Or ignorance? I had never been inside a pool bar, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean, drinks were cold and cheap, and service was quick. At 3 in the afternoon pool cost $8 a table per hour and I think at night it's $10. Yet again, nothing to compare that's price to other than the pool tables that takes a dollar worth of quarters per game. I'm no pool expert, but I know that they were very high quality pool tables and it was a nice place in general, so I think it was worth it. I was surprised how busy it was in the afternoon, but it was packed with men. I was the only female in there other than the bartender. I guess if anyone is looking for a man who likes pool, this is the place to go! Ha. The only complaint I had was there was no music there. They have football on the TVs, but I would have really liked some music too. I mean that's a minuscule detail, and it's not make or break. I imagine at night there is music and I bet this place is packed. All in all, a great place to play some pool, even for a rookie like myself.

I walked in to play billiards on Wednesday night, ladies play free then(to my surprise) and it's $5 an hour for me on the hourly tables, played for almost 2 hours till closing, clean place and more rockish style of music. There is an outside smoker enclosed area and the got Dos XX Lager on tap and pitchers. I noticed some food was available but I didn't order any. This place is a smooth and less ghetto place compared to Famous Sams. 5 stars because it is worth going to again a third time!

I used to LOVE Pockets and it pains me to give it 1 star. Played here on and off for over 2 years about a year ago. Good food and drinks were usually good also. Tables were nice. However, after many, many visits, I soon realized that there is def a clique of staff and customers that I didn't fit in to. This ruined it for me. The dirty looks from other customers who were friends with the staff, being ignored by the staff or feeling like I was not welcomed because I wasn't going out of my way to be "buddy buddy" with this "clique" made me ultimately stop going. I miss it and may return again someday if the staff is replaced and some of those "regulars" are gone... It's a shame but after so long, if you don't fit the mold, you wear out your welcome.

This establishment has a full bar, great food, great staff, full service Billiards Pro Shop, pro level Diamond 9' and 7' tables along with Brunswick Gold Crowns all very well maintained. The only thing that this place could have is its location was closer to mine. Best place to have a meal, beer or just hang out!
