Good Food, Super Kitsch! We went in for a late lunch on a Thursday and the place was empty. We ordered sandwiches - good portions and delicious. Service was good, but we were practically the only ones in there. Not a place I would seek out, but a nice option in a good area.

Despite being super hungover me and the gf decided to come in for some recovery food. I ordered a burger and she had the chicken sandwich. All very tasty. Ian was our server and he did a great job. He also kept refilling my water glass after each chug (I'm telling you i was pretty hungover). Will come back asap.

Started with Margaritas and they were great! I ordered the Tomato Basil Pasta w/ Shrimp which was very tasty. I absolutely loved my boyfriends Babyback ribs, they were amazing!!! Also the complimentary blueberry cornbread muffins were so good. I really enjoyed this restaurant and so did my party.

Good steak joint. Classic western decor. We actually did Mexican on this visit; fajitas for her, tacos pour moi. Nice bar, good selection of local brews on tap. Imaginative cocktails. If you're a meatatarian, eat here!

A go to place for us for happy hour. Recently we were attending an event at the Sheraton and had an awful experience so our group decided to leave and we headed over to HiFalutin where we had a wonderful meal and a great time. Ver comfortable atmosphere and super food. Loved the Shrimp Salad! Moe takes such good care of everyone! Great happy hour and awesome food! Highly recommended!

You want Ribs? Hifalutin is the place to go. I'm not sure if you're gonna get better than here. (In Tucson area) We went for all the Ribs you can eat. Though we only had two rounds, every suck & bite was bursting with flavor. The string beans that accompanied them were so fresh with a snapped & very simple olive oil & garlic. The atmosphere is very home-down comfortable. Our Waiter was very kind & charming, but we found him a bit inattentive, hence only 4 stars.

The service was very good and the food was delivered promptly. I found the BBQ sauce to be very tasty and complemented the chicken and ribs very nicely. The salads were fresh and crunchy plus the drinks were certainly not watered down. Certainly a good value and at most, $$.

All four of our party ordered a different selection. We were all pleased.

My experience here was terrific! My wife had been here once on business and when we went to Tucson for vacation she said we had to make a stop. It was great. Very good drinks, friendly service and good food. The bread we had to start with when we sat down was good, the drinks we ordered were very good and the dinner itself was great and very filling. I had the Western Fajitas which while not too original, were cooked perfectly. I don't recall what my wife had but I do remember she loved it and ate every bit. I would of given Hifalutin 4 stars for the food and one extra star for the price.

The service started out slow... and got somewhat better. We ordered ribs... they were good and we ordered the ribeye... fantastic meat and cooked perfectly. The margs were yummy!

Awesome!!!!! The food was sinfully good and the service was outstanding!! Ribeye steak, prime rib or generals chicken pasta was outstanding and our server; Justin M provided world class service! The house "hidden" cab is a beautiful aromatic wine for the price.

2 adults on a Sunday evening, about 5:30. First time here, selected from a Yelp review. Comfy, relaxed atmosphere, a plus to see the chef/cooks preparing the food in the back of the restaurant- we seen too many restaurant rescue shows on tv! Server was friendly and professional, asked if we wanted refills on drinks/water multiple times. Ordered a salad to split with blue cheese and honey mustard on the side, we both agreed dressing was excellent, with a special flavor, clearly not standard bottled stuff. Ordered the beef stroganoff and the portobello stuffed ravioli with chicken Marsala topping. Both exceeded expectations, very good portions, we were hungry and still had some left over to take home. A real plus was the plates were warmed my stroganoff was very hot for at least 10-15 minutes, not the usual cool pasta quickly. Split a creme brûlée for dessert, topped with sliced strawberry, very tasty and large enough to share, no doggy bag on this one! So a relaxed special experience, exceeded expectations, one of our best dining experiences in a long time.

This restaurant is a really fun time! The music is really fun and makes for a good time. I had the meatloaf and it was rather perfect. The portion was great and I enjoyed the barbecue sauce on the top. The potatoes were really smooth and very tasty. Next time we head over to HiFalutin I know exactly what I'll be having: meatloaf and only meatloaf! And creme brûlée for dessert. Just one this time but definitely a creme brûlée.

We went here last night. The cowboy waiter was cute and attentive. Blue corn muffins had a good flavor, but seemed rather hard. Got the quesadilla appetizer, half of which was scorched pretty good, but all a good flavor to it. We all tried each other's entree, the salmon was very good, the chicken was to die for. The pot roast was way too salty. Tender, vegetables were good, but in the end, I couldn't keep eating it. My husband tasted it and said, oh Dinty Moore.. I got the Apple blossom for dessert, whilst it was good, I expected more caramel flavor to it. My husband got the red ale, which he said was good. We might go back to try the all you can eat ribs. All in all, pleasant, other then my too salty put roast

Oh Hifalutin. I had put off trying this place, right down the street. I think I had a sixth Spidey sense about it. It wasn't good. The place it kitschy and stereotypical steak house decor. We were seated in the bar area, which I thought was odd, because it wasn't that full. No bigee. The little muffins or whatever brought to the table were odd and pretty tasteless. Meh. My husband ordered the Ribeye, I ordered the BBQ special which included ribs and chicken, with basil mashed potatoes. The ribs were dry, and tough. The sauce on them was terrible. Like, nauseatingly terrible. The chicken was fine. The mashed potatoes were pastey and nasty and really off-putting. My husband said his steak was just okay. The prices were fine. The service was fine, if not a little overly oppressive. Stop asking me every few minutes if everything is okay. Argh. We won't be back.

Well this is a fun jewel. I felt like I was in Missouri. Very cowboy country, very white with good food and a fun atmosphere. I was treated very nicely. But like I said ...... mono-ethnic. A cute band on Fridays playing country, hillbilly, old rock etc - a nice back drop. Tasty little free rolls - hey dude, I could eat a basket of those. Had a wonderful desert coffee. I took some fun photos. I will go back. This would be a fun place for a date. Not good for large groups. Easy access and parking. Quite safe.

We had bought a $30 for $15 deal for Hi Falutin because we had never been. We got the pot roast sandwich and the patty melt special, both were very good. The fries were fantastic and the service was wonderful. The decor was great. I honestly do not understand some of these complaints regarding the decor, etc., we found nothing to complain about... but...the dessert portion of chocolate cake was extremely tiny for the price. Will definitely go back

I get so tired of people who write crap on here with nothing to base it on. I'm speaking specifically of the "pink slime" reviewer. What did she base that on? Does she have evidence that pink slime is part of that food product, or did she simply not like it and scream pink slime. Well, I ate the burger. It was tasty. Not the best burger I've ever eaten, but it was good. I asked the head chef about the meat. He told me it was from Sysco, and was called the Thick and Juicy patty. He said it was the best he'd found short of grinding his own beef. Restaurants have to make choices. Do we spare no expense providing the perfect grind, or do we provide a quality product that most people will enjoy at a reasonable cost? To the "pink slime" lady, show some proof; or be quiet. It's a shame that reviewers like you cast aspersions on fine businesses like HiFalutin'.

The name says it all, as soon as you enter you get the feeling of a forced "western" atmosphere. From the chromed bulls skull to the cow hats on the waiters heads, it's very cheesy and pretentious. They really want to force that "western" feel on you, even though it feels more like a modern steak house. For my meal I decided to play it safe and order a Ribeye with green beans and coleslaw. I guess you could say it's a good test to see if I'd come back. The steak was a bit over seasoned and it could have been cleaned better, it was cooked exactly as ordered though. (Medium rare) The green beans on the other hand were cooked very unevenly, some were dark and cooked correct but most were bright green and raw, also the parmesan cheese sprinkled on top did nothing to help the flavor. The cole slaw on the other hand was great, and had an awesome mixture of tangy sweet flavor. Service was great, and food was out in a timely manner, so no complaints there. For me it was nothing special, just your average roadside restaurant.

Had a nice dinner with the family. The service was top-notch. Food was really good, the corn bread muffins are a great offering. Things are a wee bit expensive but it's definitely a place I will try to frequent when I want to treat someone.

The food was so good. Had the prime rib and it was so tender. Drinks were delish and service was top notch. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because of the loud live music that was not relaxing. We will definitely be back.

This is the best atmosphere I have seen at a restaurant in years. The decor is very well done here with the western theme. The walls, ceiling, seating and the bar are just the very best. Lighting is perfect for that special date night but still good enough for a family sitting down for a great meal. Pick up any of those country living style magazines and this is right out of the pages of them. The kitchen is open and they do have televisions but neither is distracting and blends in well with what is going on here. From the front entry to the restrooms nothing has been overlooked. The service was top notch. We were greeted with a smile when we were seated and our waitress had a smile throughout our dining experience. I ordered a cocktail and asked for her recommendation and I was not disappointed. She also took the time to explain the menu with a few questions we had. The menu was a surprise. It was not overbearing and was a work of art itself by the way it was presented. My wife went with the meatloaf and I had the pot roast. My pot roast was so tender it was almost falling apart. No knife was needed. The vegetables that were in it really tasted good and the flavors were just incredible. The meatloaf was also great. The owner was on hand and we got to speak with him and compliment him on his place. It was good to see an owner care so much about his restaurant. If I could only give one restaurant in the Tucson area a 5 star rating this would be it. It was very relaxing. The food and cocktails tasted great. The service was outstanding. Several families were dining inside and the place was busy. The noise level inside was still quiet. Dinner with cocktails for 2 was under $50. This place can not be beat!

Ewwww! Let me say up front that I am VERY particular about my burgers, I don't usually eat them out because I don't want "pink slime" but my friend told me she heard the owner buys his meat locally and grinds his own hamburger....SOLD!! Well, methinks not! I couldn't eat the whole thing, only ate what I did as not to hurt my friends feelings. The meat didn't even look like hamburger, it looked like one of those pre-pressed frozen burgers you buy in a box. The texture was slimy, yes, slimy. Oh god what I do for my friend!!! The blueberry corn muffins were ok but I didn't go there to eat corn muffins. The decor was nice :)

Hifalutin - we decided based on most reviews on Yelp that we would give it a try. We were greeted warmly, the decor is different than most western type restaurants & we like it. Gustavo our server was awesome, friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and saw to our every need. Food was fabulous. Steaks & salmon cooked perfect. Blueberry corn muffins great & cheese crisp was tasty. Even our toddler grand child was welcomed. We will be back.

Heard some women talking about how great this place is, so I decided to take the family out for our Valentines dinner. Kids portion of Mac n cheese is HUGE! very yummy, not out of the box mac n cheese! I got steak and hubby got salad, weird!!! but we both loved every bite!! French fried string beans are my FAV!! Our littlest girl loved the sweet potato fries! Will be taking my inlaws here when they visit next month!!

We almost left but are so glad we stayed. On a rare and treasured date night we decided to try Hifalutin. At first we liked the atmosphere - Quiet and cozy. After being seated by the friendly hostess we sat at our table for 20 minutes without a single server even saying hi. The hostess kept assuring us that someone would be with us soon, but it never happened. We decided we'd waited long enough and got up to leave. The manager was wonderful and turned what could have been a very unpleasant experience (and review) completely around. The service was good, the drinks were great, and the food was surprisingly good. The blue corn muffins were soft and fresh and delicious. For dinner we ordered the salmon and the bottomless ribs (a Wednesday night special). The salmon was grilled perfectly and flavored well. The ribs were different than any we've had before, with a BBQ sauce that was almost asian. The meat fell off the bone and was a melt in your mouth texture. Very meaty, and not at all fatty. The fries were crispy and fantastic. Our drinks were never empty and our server was very attentive. The best part of the meal was the surprise at the end - Our server came to the table and informed us that dinner was on them for the terrible start to our night. Not just a free desert or a certificate for a free appetizer next time we came in. The manager took care of the whole tab. Talk about great customer service! Very impressed with this manager and the restaurant he runs. We left full and pleased with our evening - We'll be back.

Don't waste your time going here. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. The bartender with her nasty chest tattoos exposed was the rudest person I have ever met in my life. There was only one other table in the entire restaurant, so after waiting for 30 mins for a quesdilla we asked how much longer on the food. After 10 more mins waiting she comes back to say the kitchen got our ticket 5 mins. We decided to leave immediately after the worse service we have ever had. We will never be back.

Way Overpriced! Aunt's salad sounds great but for 11 bucks you get 1 tsp sugar lump walnuts, 1 tsp blue cheese crumbles and 1 tbsp. of apple on bed of field greens. Not helping Tucsonians there!!!

I went back and thought about what I wrote. It's unfair to give this place too low a score. The food is good. Just be advised that the food style might not match expectations.

This restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere with dim lighting, candles on the tables, and the decor is definitely rustic western. The service was very good and the food was, I would say average (if judged solely by the food I would have given 3 stars). I had the beef stroganoff, which was nothing special and certainly did not look very appetizing at all (see picture). The little muffins that were served prior to the meal were dry and not very flavorful.

Ok, so the honest truth is that there's something about Hifalutin that makes me not want to like it. I can't really figure it out. Maybe it's the decor, it's just not my thing. However, I find myself reasonably enjoying my meals every time we go. On our most recent visit this weekend, we arrived pretty early, just about 5pm. The place was dead. By the time we left, there were a few tables, but it never really got very busy. Let's start with the decor and atmosphere. It's very dark inside the restaurant. This could be ok -- romantic even -- but in a cowboy-themed restaurant, it's a little bit weird. The cowboy theme is also weird in and of itself in Hifalutin. It just seems a little bit forced. The wait staff has to wear cowboy hats? Meh. The theme is certainly not winning me over, but whatever. The menu isn't very large, but I think there's probably something for everyone who in general is ok with southwest-inspired food. Think peppers and enchilada sauce. There are some regular items, like sweet potato fries and potato skins, but mainly everything else has some sort of southwestern twist to it. I ordered the chicken tortellini pasta and my husband had the pot roast sandwich. Before the meal even arrived, complimentary blue corn muffins were brought to the table. I honestly think they're delicious. They aren't overly sweet, but they're sweet. They're always warm and fresh, which makes them super soft on the inside. The outside remains crunchy. The balance is great. They come with some butter, but I don't personally think they need any. My chicken tortellini pasta was good, but not great. It was a good sized portion of tortellini. They were also on the larger side themselves. They were cheese filled, but I didn't really taste much of that. The chicken was shredded and kinda hard to see in the plate because it blended in with the cream sauce that was mixed into it all. It tasted good and was tender, though. The cream sauce was also good. The dish was also topped with some of their red sauce, which was basically a thick enchilada sauce. It was ok. I think they should have mixed it with the cream sauce instead of putting it on top, though. It was definitely better with the cream than on its own. Overall, I would get this dish again. My husband always orders the pot roast sandwich here. He just really loves it. I tasted some of it, and it is rather good. The meat was very tender and very flavorful. The bun it comes on had cheese baked into it, which was a nice addition. It came with "cowboy" fries, which were seasoned steak fries. Nothing special. Our server was very attentive. We weren't without a drink at all during the meal. She was happy to bring us more corn muffins and whatever other extras we asked for. She was also friendly and personable. The prices here seem ok to me. The portions are large and the food is of decent quality, so I don't mind paying a little bit more. We will definitely return to Hifalutin.

The place was beautiful, the service was very good, but what I ordered, even though it was plated very nice, just didn't do it for me. I had the blackjack burger for lunch and it was terrible. I ordered it cooked medium and it was tough and had no color on the outside, like if the meat would've been boiled or steamed. The bun was big NO NO. The fries were ok, but tasted just like the ones you pay 3 dollars at Denny's for. For an appetizer we ordered the steak quesadillas and were awesome. Maybe I just had the wrong meal at the wrong time ! May give it a second chance !

Great food, lots of variety - took us forever to order because we just couldn't decide! Service is excellent as well! Our waiter Adam was very accommodating and kept telling us if there's anything at all we wanted to substitute they'd be happy to do so. He also took the time to go through the menu and offer his suggestions, staff favorites, and popular items! I had the lobster ravioli seafood pasta special, not on regular menu- and it was excellent. Huge portions and not skimpy on the seafood either. The blue corn muffins were incredible as well. Friday nights they have a folk/country band which makes the atmosphere fun and cozy! We'll definitely be back!

Well, What to say about this place? I felt a little odd with my friend Judy there. We were sat by this older woman with a funny high voice, a little on the childish side. en how we had lunch last week there and the server was ok. Didn't explain to much about what was going on. So we started to order. 1st ice teas, then a Cesar and Beef taco's. The meat in my taco's was very dry. Judy just ate half of her salad. I felt like I was in a dark, damp, dirty, cowboy, lounge. It's smell, was like booze and grease. Judy and I didn't stay long. we left 18% tip, karma tip? . When we left some older dark hair man mumbled bye to us. We won't come back, until light, and bleach is there too make this place look a little better.

My fiance and I came here on Wednesday night and were very happy with our experience. The atmosphere is western-like and the light is dimmed. There are some neat little paintings around that I think really give this place some great character. Since we came on a Wednesday night, he were able to get an unlimited amount of ribs for $20. The first set was delicious and the meat practically fell off the bone, but the next few sets were sort of dry and just didn't taste as great as that initial set. I had the three-taco plate, and even though the tacos were very tasty, I felt like the beans were something that I could make at home in less than five minutes. Either way, this place was definitely a great little find and we will be returning. Even though the prices are indeed on the higher side, I figure that we're paying for the atmosphere as well.

This place is a favorite of ours. The first time I walked in, I honestly didn't know what to think of it. The ambiance was a mix of western flair with a slight feel of a New York Speakeasy. It's dark, at the time had live music, and the patio was bustling with people drinking wine and eating BBQ. The cornbread muffins are great, and their menu has quite a few options for just about anyone. They didn't have much in terms of gluten free, though. I love their steaks, and have yet to have one come out under or over cooked. The wait time for food has been a little on the long side during busy hours, but it's definitely worth the wait.

HiFalutin is close to our house and has become one of our favorite places to eat. It's comfortable, the food is tasty and the staff are friendly. My husband loves their plank salmon and margaritas!

This would have garnered an additional star - overall it was a very good experience. One of our party had the meatloaf which was great. The pot roast was delicious - but really, really wanted more vegetables in the mix; there was just a couple tablespoons of sliced carrots and chopped onions that simply didn't do the dish justice. Love the décor.

Hifalutin is just OK for me. The food was good and was fresh, but the prices were high and service was adequate. We have had many great meals on our trip to Tucson and this is at the bottom of the list of the places that we visitied. I ate the chicken tortilla soup, which was tasty, but was laking the pizazz that I am used to . It was basicly spiced broth with chicken and tortilla sliceds. There were no extras like sliced avocados to make it special. Something that I would expect for a $6.00 bowl of soup. I also had the salad that had apples, bluecheese and candied pecans in it. The salad was delicious, but the portion size was nothing to be amazed about. The restaurant billed itself as southwestern, but I would just call it a ranch style steak house. There was very little on the menu that I would not have found in a steakhouse in my home state of Texas. The decore was beautiful, and made me feel like I was in someones ranch home. If I lived locally I would probably not be a regular. Since I am from out of town, I will definately seek out other options the next time I come to Tucson.

BOMB! Ok....I am not just a plain steak eater. We usually have salsa and tortillas with our steak. Hifalutin just gets me though! Steak is full of flavor. Blue corn muffins before the meal are pretty good. Salads are awesome. The cookie dessert is just delightful! Atmosphere is very nice as well. Not too noisy and very western.

I have been to Hi Falutin at least a handful of times and have always been impressed. This time I was anything but! I ordered the top sirloin with mashed potatoes and a salad. I have had this exact same meal most times in the past. The salad used to be all mixed greens with loads of bleu cheese and (still wonderful) croutons. This time mostly iceberg and hardly any dressing. Potatoes were not memorable. They used to have wonderful pesto mashed potatoes. But the biggest difference was the steak! Ridiculously thin, like a breakfast steak! I heard they changed owners recently and the changes are certainly not for the better!

I work in the area, and have been here for lunch a few times now. I've been thinking I should write a review about this place for a while, but haven't really had anything to say. I've always had this impression that the food here should be seriously good, but sadly I've had to learn what to order and what not to order when dining here. I'll start with the thing I would recommend NOT ordering: - Don't order the chicken fajitas, because the marinade has some really strange taste to it that just ruins the whole dish. - Don't order a ribeye, because they are chewy and tough. The ribeyes are definitely nothing like the way the staff will try to describe them to you, or what you would expect when paying that much for a ribeye. - Don't order grilled flank steak. This is another tough cut of meat, but this one is almost flavorless. Actually, I would avoid all the steak options here, except for the steak fajitas. Now for the items which are good to order if you've never been here before: - I would recommend the steak fajitas. They are tasty, and come with a lot of sides to customize your fajita. The steak can be a little tough, but that isn't a deal breaker in a fajita. - You should order the Blackjack burger. All the burgers are actually pretty good, albeit a little pricey. While most people wouldn't go to an establishment like this for a burger, that is one of their better items in my opinion. - Definitely get the ribs. The ribs are the stand out dish at this establishment. They realize it and so should you. They are juicy, they are big, and if you go on Wednesday nights they are all you can eat. - The blueberry cornbread muffins are really tasty, and they are complimentary. I don't see how anyone couldn't like them. The service can honestly be hit or miss. I've had really good service here, but I've also had service in which the staff is too busy flirting with one another to care that I existed. I have only ever been during their lunch hours, when they aren't very busy. Because of that, I can't attest to how good their service is during the dinner time. In short this place might have been great in the past, but now it is kind of washed up and disappointing. The service can be good, but it can also be terrible. The food can be good, but you have to know what to order to avoid the bad food.

Everything about this place is amazing! From the moment you walk in, you are treated with top- notch service! The staff remembered our names from when we dined there almost a year back! The menu is spectacular! I always have a deliciously difficult time trying to decide what to eat, but I'm always left happy and satisfied with my choices. I often suggest this resturant to my clients. Those that have gone, have all had the same thing to say... "What an awesome gem in Tuscon!!"

Soo, it's a Rapid Fire Western Grill! I guess our food came out quickly, albeit a little messed up. I ordered the Blackjack burger with sweet potato fries and my partner order the meatloaf sandwich with cowboy fries (steak fries with seasoning). The cook was so RAPID with his FIRE that he mixed up our orders; Boo got my sweet potato fries and I got his cowboy fries. The waitress was attentive enough to notice that our orders were mixed up but we were hungry --she insisted on getting our orders corrected, we just wanted to eat! The decor was nice, very western-like and the mini blue corn muffins were sooo sweet and tasty, served with slightly salted, softened butter Just the right start to our good eating. The burger was pretty good. Not super juicy but cooked right. The cowboy fries were really tasty, hearty and well seasoned. The sweet potato fries were good but left much to be desired. I wished they were thicker. My partner really didn't have much to say about the meatloaf sandwich other than it was "pretty good." Overall, it was a decent dinner. It was reasonably priced and the menu had lots of things I'd like to try.

Oh Hifalutin, I love your happy hour! I love love love the Margaritas and complimentary blueberry corn bread. The kicked up green beans and the quesadilla are both delicious and on the happy hour menu. That being said I have never really wanted to come here for anything else because the dinner menu isn't really that exciting.

Decent food, very good service, and cozy western decor sum up Hifalutin. My Midwestern father and his buddy wanted steak and potatoes so we tried a familiar place I've driven by hundreds of times. Hifalutin certainly satisfied their palates and stuffed their bellies. I tried both of their steaks and agreed that they were tasty. Personally, I found the menu to be bland and just not my "style". However, my father and his buddy absolutely adored their meals. To each their own...

This was once one of my favorites, however, my rating dropped from 5 to 2 stars simply due to the pricing and portions on many dishes. The food is really great, but the prices on many dishes are way more than they should be. Overpriced Salads that leave you hungry and hour later. My old favorite was the cobb, until they 86ed most of the chicken, egg, bacon, mixed greens, blue cheese and carrot : all the things that actually made the cobb salad a great pick. Not anymore. Don't even think of the Chopped Tomato Basil Salad as a meal despite its $8.75 cost; it is a mere side salad with a high price. Half a rack of ribs for $17! Whole rack $23. Only good rib deal is wednesdays when they offer all-u-can-eat. But who wants to do that anymore? Lunch pasta $13. $15 for pot roast. Eek! That is why we stopped eating those dishes too. Beans as a side? Not a good idea either. As inexpensive as pintos are, this place treats them like caviar and serves a ridulously small portion (maybe a third cup) inside a unhealthy and tasteless fried tortilla shell. The beans have a wonderful taste, you just want more than a couple spoonfuls. Sandwiches are fairly priced as is the filet. Blue corn muffins are usually primo, but they are sometimes dry. Service is always exceptional. The staff and management are a delight. Too bad they are so unfair with pricing and portions on so many dishes. Greed has overwhemed good sense and fairness. If you eat here, choose very carefully or you'll be hungry and poorer than you were an hour before.

Eh, My Wife and I were/are big fans of Baggins from our days at the UofA (20 + years ago). We were in town and hit Baggins for lunch and learned about the opening of Hifalutin so we thought we would give it a try. In short - really average. The food was just ok. The service was also just ok.

This place is great. Great Ribeye, great service. As goes for any restuarant, you have to know what to order and what to stay away from. Leslie F. got a flank steak tossed with peppers, spinach and noodles. Sounds absolutely disgusting. What the hell do you think you're going to get? Everybody knows you get a flank steak dish when you're too cheap to get a real steak. It's like getting a steak sandwich, there's a reason it's $12 and the "real" steak dish is $30. Complaining about the kid working there probably to put himself thru college. "I didnt like his gauges" "he was uninterested" I'm sure you're soooo engaging lady... Constantly complining, ugh. I am haunted by women like you. They are single and wonder why they can't keep a man or their husbands hate them but are too scared to speak up. Then you have Stephen R. who I just found out is the foremost authority on restaurant pricing. He gave 2 stars because he thinks the prices should be lower. Why? Because he said so! I'm sure he's the kind of guy that yelps about the service at McDonalds and how bad it is. No crap buddy, thanks for sharing. Personally, if the food is good, I have no problem paying for quality. Then again I'm not a whiny complaining wannabe restaurant critic. I'd definitely go back and enjoy myself again.

Kitchy western atmosphere, small dining room makes for a nice intimate dining experience. As far as the food goes, loved the steaks, any cut, but really the only thing you need to know is 3 words, BBQ Babyback Ribs. Old family marinade recipe with a touch, a slight touch of teriaki. The ribs marinade for 3 days. And I hear during the summer, $19.95 all you can eat ribs! Also, they have a great wine list to match whatever you decide to eat.

We went here based on the reviews. Seeing how this restaurant is #2 out of all of the restaurants in Tucson, we expected a 5 star experience. The only thing 5 star was the atmosphere. Our service was almost nonexsistent. I think our actual server only came to the table 3 times (voluntarily) throughout the entire 2 hours we were there. Since everybody raves about the mini cornbread muffins, we were excited to get them. We only got them when we got our steaks and we had to ask for them (I would rate them 5 star...yummy) Now for the food: appetizer (potato skins) were very good. We had 2 ribeyes and 1 sirloin. The asparagus and bakers were excellent. The steaks, were not so great. We are all steak lovers and consider ourselves connoisseurs. All the steaks were cooked as ordered. However, the ribeyes (medium rare) were chewy and definitely NOT melt in your mouth. The sirloin (ordered medium) was very dry and ate like a steak that was ordered well done. My advice: give it a try, but don't order steak.

My boyfriend and I recently spent the long weekend in Tucson, and looked up a BUNCH of restaurants online before we went. We came here on our last day because he's into themed restaurants and it looked fun. Not only was the ambiance great, but the food was AMAZING! I highly recommend their new item, the beef stroganoff made with flank steak. The waitress we had was really attentive, too. This was the best dining experience (and meal!) of our entire (and well-researched) trip. If I ever go back to Tucson, you can bet I'll come back here.

horrible!! long wait, bad service, & food is semi-decent but definitely NOT worth the price!! Taste of Texas on cortaro/thornydale is so much better (don't waste your time at this place!).

This place is just awesome! I've had a few different dishes there and every single one of them was outstanding. My wife recommends the Prickly Pear Margarita. It's a bit of a drive if you're not in the Oracle area but it's well worth it.

Dined there last evening, on a hot summer night. We had the mexican shrimp and the spinach salad. Both were delicious and would go back there again. They did have $3.50 margaritas, so I ordered the Mango margarita. Unfortunately, it was soooo sweet, I had to exchange it for a regular margarita, which was very good.

Had heard excellent things about this restaurant so maybe I went into my recent dining experience with inflated expectations. Had the Cowboy Sandwich and fries while my dining comrade tried the potroast sandwich. Maybe it was our selections, but I found the sandwiches to be average. The fries were undercooked and the cornbread mini-muffins were dried out. IMO, there are better sandwich places in the area, including Baggins and Metro Grill.
