I'm always very hesitate when trying a New Restaurant (Especially Chinese), but Bamboo Terrace, on Ajo & Mission in Tucson didn't disappoint. We were immediately greeted and seated with no wait, even though they were very busy. The Atmosphere was Cute, Clean and Quaint. Our drink order was immediately taken and handed a beautiful menu that was extremely appreciated, like browsing a large hard cover book. Before placing my order, I completed a ritual of visiting the restrooms. The facilities of a restaurant tells you a lot about their kitchen and cleaning habits, and they passed with flying colors and was even impressed (I was a waiter in Previous Life). The Food was Medium-Priced, Beautifully Presented, Flavorful and enjoyed every single bite. I only wish I could of tried more dishes, as their menu was filled with incredible choices. We over ordered of course (Four Main Dishes, Two People), and had plenty of food to take home for lunch tomorrow at work and brag of our new find in West Tucson. As a staff member was kindly wrapping up our leftovers for us, we couldn't stop raving of our experience at Bamboo Terrace. Finds out we were talking to the right person, one of the Owners, Blanca. To the Staff of Bamboo Terrace, thank you for spoiling us, serving us and never leaving our glass empty and always making sure our needs were met. We can be High-Maintenance and your Surpassed Our Expectations, Our Needs and provided a Beautiful and Tasty Experience. Sincerely, Steven & Robert (Would of Loved soft Asian music, while enjoying my meal).

Well, I tried again against my better judgment. Better than the first visit, but on the basis of two visits, I'm not impressed. Food: Hot and sour soup...excellent. Hot, full bodied, just spicy enough. Egg rolls...not bad (not really good, either) Princess chicken...meh. Just tasted kinda funny. It wasn't bad, but it certainly didn't impress. Fried rice was ok. Service: Very nice, but I waited 10 minutes and had to ask to order, despite waitress passing by twice and my menu closed in the table. The wait for my check was a bit long also. It was lunch time, but it was nowhere near capacity.

Best Chinese food in Tucson HANDS DOWN!! The Hot and Sour Soup is to die for. The House Lo-Mein and Mongolian Chicken are my favorites tho everything on the menu is delicious. I grew up about a mile from here. Now I live about 30 miles away but I always make the drive because its worth it. And if I'm ever close I'll never head back home without getting a soup to go. Never disappointed!!

A small neighborhood Chinese Restaurant with incredibly good food. They have thest Hot and Sour Soup there combo specials are under $9 and are enough for two meals. The Wor Won Ton Soup is a cure all for what ails you. The sauces I the food shows off the skill of the chef as they are varied and flavorful.

I love, love Bamboo is the best Chinese food in town. I really like their New place mats, another successful dinner with them. I love their lomein, I wish I can eat that every single day!

This place is a gem! They are typically busy on the weekends because it's so delicious! They have great low mien! The prices are not bad for how much food you are served! The staff is always nice and attentive. Will continue to frequent this place!!

I have been going to Bamboo Terrace for 10 years. I love this place. It's a ma and pa location that has come up over the years. They know my name and my order. I always order any of their fried rice from pork to combination and the sesame chicken is absolutely delicious! They are even accommodating to my picky son with a plain chicken dish they make.

The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is that the location is terrible. Sitting in a huge parking lot overlooking stores and restaurants that are rundown. On a brighter note the young lady that greeted me at the door was very polite. The cashier that took my order was very helpful. The food was hot and very tasty and I didn't have to wait long for it. I'll be back.

As you approach the entrance the outside is deceiving. Simple sign, simple exterior but once inside it's much nicer then the exterior would present. Food smelled good as we walked in and the place was reasonably packed for dinner on a Tuesday night. We were sat immediately and drink orders were taken and served quickly. The menu was nice looking and had a good selection to choose from. We ordered 2 family style entrees and it was more then enough for our group of 2 children and 2 adults with enough to take home for a adult serving. Each entree you order comes with one egg roll and one won ton soup. To be honest after eating the won ton I no longer wanted the entrees I wanted a giant bowl of won ton it was that tasty. Overall the food tastes really good, meats were tender and not chewy like other Chinese restaurants I've had. Bathrooms were clean, service was good and they approached at proper times for refills. Prices were reasonable for quality of food and our food taken to go was packaged by our waiter. I've been making my recent restaurant selections from Yelp ratings and it hasn't disappointed me yet.

By far my most favorite Chinese food in Tucson. You get wonderful service along with fresh HOT food, with extremely reasonable prices especially with the considerably large portions. Bamboo Terrace does not mess around, it's almost like yesterday I remember being a child and climbing into their booths awaiting my lemon chicken. How the time flys, but the restaurant still keeps their consistency to deliver the freshest and tastiest Chinese kitchen food around. I always start off with sizzling rice soup and love to go over for it when I'm feeling under the weather. The egg rolls are light and crispy, the crab puffs have a great balance of crunch and crabby goodness. My most favorite dishes have to be cashew chicken (add extra garlic,) Mongolian beef, walnut shrimp, any choice of fried rice, shrimp egg foo young is out of this world and the crispy duck! Now the crispy duck takes 30 minutes to make served with a yummy plum sauce, and the Peking duck which I have yet to try is a dish that you need to leave 24 hours notice so that you can enjoy it. That goes to show just how dedicated this restaurant is to delivering quality and delicious food, which is why they are still around. Not to mention they have THE BEST hot chili oil and hot mustard that are great toppers for every dish. If you have the opportunity to stop by this place you need to, it's a definite gem in Tucson!

Seems like the place has changed ownership or something involved with management. Employees don't understand or notice basic serving knowledge. I haven't had bad serves like this in a long time. While the food was great the long wait to sit and the long wait to order and long wait to receive food made it hard to enjoy. Having to ask twice for silverware didn't help either.

Come here regularly they typically have the most delicious food. On this particular visit I received food that was cooked in a burnt pan or something as it had bits of charcoal in it. We were half way through that particular plate at that point before we noticed because we had other things on the plate. When we pointed this out to the waitress she said you should have let me know earlier and gave us a look like we were trying to get free food. She then went back and brought out a smaller portion WITHOUT MEAT! Lol. As I work in retail I know it is standard practice to replace the customers entire order not just the difference in the amount they consumed as part of it could be fine and the other part is when they notice. Poor customer service

Loved it. Place was hopping on Saturday night but we got seated, served and fed quickly. Walnut Shrimp was incredible. Princess Shrimp was kung pao shrimp but not as spicy which was nice. Egg Drop Soup - lots of egg. Crab puffs order plentiful. Duck - not so good. It's also one of the few good restaurants on the southwest side.

There food is so good. I have been going here for about four years now and I am never disappointed . My in laws have gone for over twenty years and they have never had a complaint yet. The food sometimes will take a little longer than expected but its because it is ALWAYS fresh never re heated or anything of that nature. If you are gonna have the egg of young call it in while your driving there it takes a little while but not long enough to where its not worth it. This is my favorite Chinese place to eat I highly recommend it . The staff is also amazing If your not sure what to order they will point you in the right direction.

Arrived at 4:15 and placed to go order by 4:20 waited patiently till a busser asked if I had been helped. this was at 5:00, I remarked that it was odd that the only person interested in customer service was the bus boy and thanked him for asking he went back in the kitchen and checked coming out and reassuring me that the food was on the way. The food comes out finally and the waitress with no apology rings me up and when I remark on the long wait and lack of customer service she ignores me and starts talking to someone else at which point I take exception to her attitude and ask her again how it is that she thinks its acceptable to flat out ignore a customer speaking directly to her? Her reply, "I just got here and I didn't have nothing to do with it." Wow. I get the food home and the order is wrong. Called the restaurant and all they wanted to do was have me bring the food back so they could replace it with the correct order, no discount or anything else to make up for this all the while getting the excuse of I will have to check with my manager over and over again, rather than the manager just getting on the phone. Finally grudgingly I got them to refund the missing food back onto my card. Hopefully they don't screw that up as well. The sesame beef was good the orange chicken left a lot to be desired. The only person that gave good service was the bus boy and it remains to be seen if they refund the one item that was agreed to back to my card.

The food here is always consistently good. This is a great family run restaurant and they always strive to give great service in addition to great food. They have also remodeled and the interior is much more inviting now. My favorite is the Chicken Lomein - it's the best I've ever had! If you're on the southwest side of town it's worth stopping in.

Tastey Chinese food. Great fast, friendly service..even better if you are with a regular customer. Their Hot and Sour soup is good, great if you are feeling under the weather. Just be forwarned...the "cup" is a pretty large serving, so be prepared to take home leftovers if you get it and a lunch special.

Okay, I have been back and up'ing the star count for two reasons. One, the feedback I received from management was extremely thoughtful and second, they took my feedback and incorporated it :) So stopped in for take-out. I ordered the large Won Ton soup, Veggie Low-Mein, General Tso's chicken and an order of egg rolls. The large Won Ton soup was big!! The flavors were really good. I liked the pork and the won ton's that were in it. And it was still good the second day. I had ordered the Veggie Low- Mein on the recommendation of the manager to try the low mein. The flavors were nice, the noodles cooked perfectly. It was my favorite dish of the night. My only issue was that I wish it had a few more vegetables in it. When I ordered the General Tso's chicken I asked if it was spicy and the girl on the phone said it was mild, and I asked her if I could get it spicy. In fairness, at this point in the phone call I was getting a text on what soup to order and was trying to look at that while talking to her, so I didn't here what she said, but I thought she had said it would be fine to get it extra spicy. Unfortunately, when I got it, it was not spicy at all. Occasionally I got some heat, but nothing of what I was hoping for. So I don't know if something got lost in translation, or if I just got the regular order of the "mild" version. That aside, the chicken was cooked well, and I loved all the vegetables in it, I just wish it had more heat. The eggrolls were a very good size. The best part is they looked like they were actually homemade and wrapped in house. The flavor was good, but they were pretty greasy. The best part was the sweet and sour sauce. Previously when getting it, the consistency was pudding like... this time, it was perfect! Not too runny, not too solid. Kudo's to management for implementing a fix! Overall, it was a really good meal. It took two of us, two days to eat it all and the price was about $22. This will become my go to place for Chinese take-out... and if I ever have a craving for Chinese while not still in my sweats, I will try and get in for a sit-down experience.

Having lived on the Tucson's Southside for 10 years, I have dined at Bamboo Terrace at least 100 times, if not more. I have tasted almost everything, and for the most part, it was always pretty damn good, until the last year or so. It seems every time I come here I am gradually more disappointed. Just 2 weeks ago I ordered four entrees and an eggflower soup. I called in the order and arrived 15 minutes later. I was told that it was going to be an additional 5 minutes while a fresh pot of Egg Flower Soup was made as they had just run out. 20 minutes later, I finally get my food order. I arrive home and begin to eat. The Soup is steaming, but everything else was warm/cold. I was not happy. I contact the restaurant and they want me to bring the food back and have it remade. I was not going to wait another 45 minutes, so I microwaved it. I definitely did not feel like I got my $35 worth. I will probably not return.

Came on Tuesday nite, not very full. Service OK, didn't notice I needed a water refill. Soup and spring rolls came out hot, had curry chicken, could use more curry, yet peas and carrots not over cooked, thats good, portions more than ample, overall sense was ok yet a little bland.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
