Food was just OK. I had the Chicken fried steak and it was edible. But service was terrible. I seated by the kitchen and saw my food come up and set in the window for 5 minutes before the waitress came to give it to me. The order was missing food that I never got because she didn't return until it was time to give me my bill. My waitress didn't come back after giving me my bill and I tried to give it to another waitress and was told she couldn't take it. I was trying to pay with cash and I had to go find my waitress to hand it to her. She was busy attending a large group and totally forgot about me.

I pulled in and thought well, you are either going to be shot or have the best breakfast of your life. I'm glad I walked in. Be sure to pick the original iq test game. Convenient stop when you are hungry. Food is yum

Food was fair at best. Service not so good either. Clean restaurant, very small gift shop and a cute little bar. Not a place I would return to.

Great stop off route 66. Had some pie and coffee and the pie and ice cream were very good. Really cool decor inside the Ok Saloon. Our waitress was very sweet. I highly suggest coming here.

Had to stop here on our way back from the Grand Canyon.. We were told this town was the inspiration for the movie Cars.. So drove by, and really desolate little town. Stopped at this joint because the name stuck out. Walked in and was great right away. The place was very clean. Kitchen clean as well as the restrooms. Food, I had a buffalo burger with home fries. Burger itself was actually pretty good. I ordered it with bacon, but she forgot to bring it till the end. I tried it with, but was better without the bacon. The desserts looked really good. We were too full to try. Nice little place with funky décor.

Sit in the bar. Usually better service, and the decor is cooler. Decent food, not great, but decent. The sawmill gravy is, however, EXCELLENT. I like this place.

Blueberry pie to die for, I mean to die for! I have never had chicken fried steak before and it was lovely, not greasy at all. Atmosphere was great and the staff was so helpful and quick. If you are hitting route 66 make the lovely Seligman and RoadKill Cafe a stop!

Great burger and one hot red beers! Great service and very clean. A must visit on your route 66 travels.

Ok so we came here w a large group of friends all on motorcycles headed to the Grand Canyon. We had called ahead by a week or so and let them know there would possibles be 50 of us in our group. Ended up w about 40. My hubs and I put our order in last and oddly enough we received our food first. Some of our friends never received their food and after waiting over an hour finally gave up and left - the restaurant really wasn't busy except for our group. The food wasn't bad - typical breakfast burritos and breakfast dishes. There is a cute gift shop there w some fun Route 66 stuff. We wouldn't go back- my two stars may be generous but it was clean w friendly waitresses - I think they have a poorly run kitchen and need new management maybe. Reading other reviews it looks like this happens here frequently

Very enjoyable meal. Two of us had the $20 steals for lunch - they were perfectly cooked and very well sized. The mashed potatoes and gravy served were excellent Another of us had the mystery meat. This was turkey over lightly toasted bread covered with gravy served with mashed potatoes. Yummy!!!! Our last person had the pan fried trout - simply delicious. Before our meal they brought us a loaf of warm bread - we totally destroyed it. If anything was bad was that the room was a bit chilly. We will be back. Fantastic food and service.

Poor food and bad service. Do yourself a big favor and walk across the street to Lilo's instead.

Came here just to have a quick lunch. I ordered the chicken wrap with grilled chicken. I didn't expected to much but it was actually quite good! It came with a dinner salad which came fresh out of the salad bar. My boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich with fries which was okay but not that special. The service is good, and the prices are reasonable.

Very slow service, it was 1:30 in the afternoon. Not a busy time and plenty staff! Ordered the Elk Burger. Elk patty was freezer burned. Bad enough that we didn't eat it or the cold frys. Think it sat in the window awhile for pick-up. When we were asked if everything was ok, we did say why we only took one bite. Big deal they took 2.00 off our tab! But we were asked if we wanted a free desert. We paid and left hungry!! Would not recommend eating here, just drinks.

Very fun place to stop en route to Grand Canyon. What I'm so surprised about is none of the other yelpers reveiwing this place mentioned that Seligman is the inspiration for the "Cars" movies. How can they neglect to mention that? Stopped here because I had seen the Road Kill Cafe on an episode of CBS Sunday Morning a million years ago, but was delighted motoring into the town to realize we were now an animated character in the Pixar movie. The campground on the outskirts of town, viewing the interstate cars moving along in the distance, the tire store/vintage looking Texaco sign, the diner, and a fun novely store of two that had "Mater" the two truck, the police car, and the fire truck are all there waiting for you. Adorable! The town is the birthplace of Route 66, or so they claim, so I guess it makes sense. The diner itself is fun, has a crazy tourist-y western town in the parking lot along with various animal sculptures and other funky stuff. Inside, lots of "dead heads" and fun camoflague or Route 66 souvenirs. And the food's not bad, either. We weren't really super hungry, so I just had a bagel and a bottled root beer. Hubby had pancakes that were good, and bacon that was great. The place is obviously family owned, and obviously a lot of family work there, so double bonus in my book. If you are near, you absolutely must venture off the interstate for a bit and visit, especially if you are driving a rental convertible sports car like we were!

Been sitting here 45 minutes. Place less than 1/2 full. 1 cup coffee that is weak. No food. Touts family owned. No family in sight

I loved the food here! And the service was great, the staff is very friendly, and made my experience quite memorable. I'd definitely come back!

Just stopped for appetizers on our way up Route 66. Food was okay, but the service was very slow for a restaurant that was not very full.

    (2)
  • Janet G.

We were very disappointed in the cafe. The food was just so so and the restrooms were awful. We will not be back.

    (2)
  • Diann W.

just had appetizers here, service slow, food good, price reasonable.

Stay clear!!!! This is.a freezer to fryer joint that doesn't even do that well. Had the fried chicken and came back Frozen in the middle twice! Place is aptly named!!

  • Samantha H.

Stopped here on a road trip, looked interesting. The host was scattered and over whelmed trying to seat us. WE suggested a table close by so he put us there. Menu looked good as did food going by to other tables. We made our decisions and waited. I used the restroom, came back and waited, waited, and waited. No one came even to say they would be back, so we waited and finally just got up and left. A little disappointed, looked like a fun place.

    (1)
  • Dan P.

I have experienced better. I thought the food was grossly overpriced for standard food. There was nothing here. I think the name is meant as a tourist trap. $15 for a buffalo burger in the middle nowhere? no thanks. Had the prices been about 40% cheaper I would have given it 3-4 stars.

If you find yourself in Seligman, AZ then this is a good food choice. Seligman doesn't have many food options and you don't have too many reasons to be in Seligman (it's not even an incorporated city/town/village...it was just created by the census) unless you're on your way too/from the grand canyon. But this place is actually pretty bomb. It's decorated with lots of big game. It has a very cabinny feel and has a bunch of Route 66 souvenirs. I got the roasted half chicken (the name of the dish escapes me. All dishes have a roadkill kind of name) and it was actually delicious. Lots of flavor. Loved it. All dishes come with two sides. I got pork beans (good) and salad. The salad was created by the waitress from the salad bar. The salad bar on it's own was $4 something. Kind of pointless. My main gripe was that the ice for the drinks was scooped by hand out of an ice chest. Kinda gross. The prices were good and so was the service. This is a good but random spot.

    Great food, especially the burger!

First off all the good stuff about the Radkill Cafe: The ambiance was really great, thoug it doesn't look terribly giod, I thing it suits the theme and style of Route 66. The food was mostly great and do not worry! None of it is actually roadkill, its just a very amusing and unique business concept. My steak was a perfect medium, just like I wanted it. There was also the option of getting a small steak, wich was great, since I wasn't that hungry just a few hours after breakfast. The burgers were tasty and not too much either. (I think if you get fries with your meals instead of oder side dishes its gonna be a lot more) I also loved how they serve your drinks in big jars! But now why it's only four stars (but most of it is probably because a bus arrived right before us and it was very busy): First, after being seated we had to wait a long time till the waiter showed up. She then mixed up our order a little. In front of the bathroom there was a long line, since there's only one restroom for men and one for women. But overall it was still very enjoyable and a great experience!

  • Ryan C.

Great little diner. (Especially the pulled Pork)prices for food seem a little higher than average for the area, I guess they are factoring in a little extra on account of the tourists. A little unfair but then I guess you kind of expect it from from places where the main visitors are tourists. The bar is pretty cool with a good selection of drinks. I've spent quite some time here just drinking at the bar passing the time of day and chatting to the staff all of whom are friendly and attentive. No they don't actually serve roadkill (well not anymore) but you can get a good meal here before making your way farther down the route.

A true old Route 66 roadhouse cafe. Sitting on the original route 66 in Seligman (the main drag through this tiny town) this cool old school cafe offers some pretty decent food, when your out in the middle of nowhere on the I-40 old route 66 in the desert. This is not 4 or 5 star dining, and going in expecting anything other than a roadhouse cafe type of experience is asking to much. What it is - is a clean, no frills place. Wooden tables and chairs, with old style bottle condiments on the table (always clean and filled) and paper napkins. It is also, a decent basic greasy spoon cafe where good breakfasts, burgers and blue plates are the norm. Always good and friendly service, always clean and always a decent place to grab some hot food. I've stopped in and eaten here well over a dozen times over the past two plus decades, traveling across the high desert. The Road Kill cafe has always been a good stop for some good basic food. Nothing special, but then again, when you are out in the middle of nowhere - sometimes just a good old burger and fries is all you need. Worth the stop, take the time and pull off when you are in the area, and in need of food and looking for a decent place to grab something to eat. Definitely better than driving through one of the chain food houses. a Solid 3 star cafe. 00220

Great BLT. But, lemon meringue pie from a mix and chili is canned. Why oh why serve such mediocre food?

    (2)
  • James B.

Name suits the place! 55 minute wait for our food after ordering. Wouldn't have been bad but all our sausage was burnt to a crisp as well as the hash browns! Maybe they just can't do breakfast. Server was nice enough and did apologize and take $10.00 off our bill. The eggs were fine. I rarely complain but I did at the road kill!

  • David A.

Stopped in for a late night dinner just before closing time, they had great food and great service!

    (4)
  • Katie F.

Interesting place. Not the greatest food. I had a veggie burger and my fiend had chicken she said was reconstituted. The owner stopped by the table and when asked what I'd got, pulled a face and told me vegetables had died for my meal. Why? I wasn't complaining about it. He tried to make me feel uncomfortable for no reason.

  • Athena S.

We took the kids to this historical cafe. Too bad there wasn't anything interesting on the menu. The food was okay, but it smelled like a bit like a mix between a taxidermist's office and a thrift store. :/

  • Daniel C.

We stopped by here to fuel up at the midway point to the Grand Canyon. It reminded me a bit of Claim Jumpers, since it had a cool Western motif and a cute name. I got the chicken tenders with cole slaw, and the wife got the French dip with French Fries. The tenders were well seasoned, and had crispy outside and juicy tender inside. Slaw was pretty good too. My wife's French Dip sandwich however was way over seasoned - it was cooked well but was salty before dipping. Her fries were really good though - fried golden crisp and not oily at all! Service was great, and it's cool they have this little IQ test (a peg puzzle) to keep you entertained while food arrives. It's actually pretty fun and addictive - I only got the "so so" rating of 25 points at best while the maximum score is 200 with "genius" rating. Guess I should stick to chess :)

  • Wendy O.

Average diner food at best. Fun atmosphere with plenty too look at on walls, especially in the bar section. Not vegetarian friendly. Seems kid friendly though. They sell some fun trinkets for tourists too. Lilo's cafe across the street has waaaay better food though. Wait staff are friendly.

  • Megan G.

We loved this place! Spotless...the cleanest place we've ever eaten. Ketchup bottle, hot sauce bottle, salt and pepper shakers...everything was clean! Nice souvenir shop. Delicious food, perfectly cooked hashbrowns which are hard to find! Waitress was perfect. Peg games on the tables which was fun to play. A must stop!

    (5)
  • Alex M.

We came here as a dinner stop between the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. The sirloin was cooked medium to perfection and very well seasoned. My gripe is with the sides. The bread is very heavy and filling to start with and the dinner salad is too much in one bowl. And last the "roadkill fries" which are potato wedges were under seasoned. I mean not an once of salt or pepper to be found. I would recommend this place to anyone passing by but make sure to keep to the better sides like the regular fries or baked potato

  • Liz R.

I really, really enjoyed my meal here! It was delicious! I really like the outside area, too. My daughter and I had fun exploring at 0650. Lol. We got there a little before they opened, but it was definitely worth the wait!

  • Doreen B.

There was so much hype about this place, that we really wanted to come and see... Once Hubbs and me got here... it was subpar. The food and service were mediocre. We had to sit at the bar to get any kind of ambience. I was disappointed that the décor was not all over the restaurant, just the saloon area. Hubbs ordered the "Tried to pass me by on rye" patty melt and I ordered "Mystery Meat" an open face turkey sandwich. It was cold cut turkey, not actual fresh cut turkey which was even more disappointing The choices were like any choices you would see at Denny's or Big Boy's. The only thing that was worth anything was reading behind the bar area, it had cute and quirky sayings. That's about it. It was easy to find and they have their own parking lot. It was a major let down, considering all the other reviews we read. I have to agree with Kitty S. and Wendy O. **If you are in really need to eat and you have no energy to drive further... this could be your only option.

  • Knosher A.

Worst service going cross country! Waited to be seated; never got a waitress; walked out. Cool name, if your a Harley-Davidson Rider. Skip this place - walk across street, order ANYTHING, but don't miss biscuit w/ Orange Blossom Honey (Pure Arizona Honey).

    (1)
  • Colin P.

An interesting stop on Route 66. Food isn't especially good. Restaurant is a little tattered. Staff are friendly. It's ok nothing more. Don't get the ribblets. Burgers are ok apparently.

    (3)
  • Kitty S.

On our way back from the Grand Canyon, we saw a sign for the Roadkill Cafe. It sounded interesting so we decided to give it a try. We were a bit disappointed that they didn't actually serve any kind of meats that you would think were roadkill. (Rabbit, squirrel, deer, etc.). It was just regular diner/bar food with roadkill names. We both order burgers with fries. They were decent enough. Nothing special. And definitely not worth the $50 bill. Yes, you read that right. It is purely a tourist trap.

My family and I were passing through on our way from the Grand Canyon Caverns. They had great food and good service. I had the buffalo burger which was great:-)

On route 66. Catchy name so we ate here! So good and glad we stopped by. Great staff and like the menu selection. The food was delicious and pricing is reasonable.

Great stop for route 66. It has a small shop, a pub and a restaurant. The deco is very interesting. The BBQ pork is delicious. but skip the desserts.

    (3)
  • Luis R.

Great service, great environment, great beer (and low cost!). Holly, our server, did a great job and was extremely friendly. Definitely recommend this place if you're passing through. Try the 90 shilling, you won't regret it.

  • Kimmy V.

Not sure why everyone is raving about this place. The food is average at most, but they do have a witty decor inside and outside of their restaurant. I ordered the turkey club and had a split pea soup. Boyfriend ordered their french dip and side salad. The salad is your standard iceberg salad with the regular fixins. Turkey club sandwich is huge! It probably can feed two persons really. I suppose everyone gives this place good marks because they may be traveling on the road for a long time and looking for a place that is non fast food to stop in. I won't be stopping in here again, really not worth going out of my way for average food.

  • Shannon W.

We stopped here on the way to the Grand Canyon. It does not have a sign for it until you reach the Freeway exit. This town is the start and founding city of Route 66. The original owners bought the café / saloon and 4 other businesses in town. Even after the husband died, the four children, their spouses, the grandchildren and great grandchildren help out to keep the businesses going. The food was pretty good. You get a huge 1/2 gallon mason jar full of tea. The menu was fun names such as "Awesum Possum". There is lots to see on the walls and taxidermy animals in the saloon. The staff were very friendly as well as the locals in the café. The outside is styled as an old-style town complete with a county "Jail". Very unique place to stop and get a bite to eat along with some history. Definitely somewhere I'd go again if I were passing through.

I found this place using Yelp! My family and I were on a roadtrip heading back to California. We were looking for a spot to meet with family that was heading East To Flagstaff. I found it on yelp and we met at the Road Kill Cafe! The food was fresh and tasted really good! Our server was very nice and attentive...... I now know about this place and will always stop here with my family as we travel the I-40.... We visited here 7/27/12 @ 930 a.m.

  • Dawne M.

We stopped here on our return trip from the Grand Canyon (back to Vegas). There is definitely some history here, and plenty to look at (we were seated in the bar). The food was fairly plain, nothing to write home about. If you have a chance to stop in, it's still worth while - unless you have any issues with taxidermy of course (the entire bar area is a taxidermy shrine).

    (3)
  • Cyndie C.

The best thing I can say about this restaurant is that they have a diorama in the bar with stuffed animals - no, not teddybears, silly! Taxidermied bobcat, mountain lion, ringtail cat, and rattlesnake to name a few. I actually came in hoping that they were serving "roadkill" - you know - oddball foods that were made from stuff you might hit on the road. Squirrel or rabbit or something like that. The closest they came was naming their dishes (standard diner fare) after road-kill possibilities. Meh. That didn't really do much for me. We had the beef noodle soup, which tasted like salt with a touch of beef flavoring. Followed that with a turkey sandwich that might have been good, but it tasted like they had brined the turkey in the Dead Sea for a week and forgotten to rinse it off before plopping it on the bread. Seriously, the best food/drink item was the bottle of Sarsparilla, which I loved!

  • Bonnie G.

Look, mostly I ate here twice because our car broke down right outside Seligman. The gimmick of the place wears off pretty quick when you see the prices on the menu against the low caliber food. $10.99 for the salad bar that has 7 toppings and no spinach? Pfft. That's some one-star bull splatter. But then breakfast was biscuits and gravy with crispy hash browns and a fried egg on top. I'll be damned if I didn't clear that plate and pat my belly in satisfaction! I didn't realize how crappy all the biscuits and gravy is in California until that meal. Not sure how they did it, but they got a couple stars for it. Btw, the coffee sucked. They've just got a good location.

Surprisingly fresh food, however the place was a bit dull

  • Charlie C.

A really nice diner along Route 66 in this amazingly historical city. I drove from Kingman to Seligman and upon entering this town, which is very desolate and remote except for a handful of stores and restaurants, I saw this place and pulled into the large parking lot. Nice dining area, dotted with wooden tables and chairs. Inside are various taxidermied animals on the walls of the nice bar area. And some behind glass. Really cool. Lots of memorabilia. As for the food, I got a veggie burger and it was just okay. Nothing special. But everyone was very nice and the service was great.

The ONLY reason we decided to find a place to eat in Seligman and not in Williams on our way to Las Vegas was because in Williams, there were GRASSHOPPERS!!! Grasshoppers everywhere. They sprinkled the ground like glitter. It was like I was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie... the horror... Anyways, I begged my husband with fearful tears in my eyes to order from a drivethru but he was not having it, so I made him drive 40 minutes till we got to this little jewel in the more arid part of Northern Arizona... no grasshoppers! YAY!!! I found this place on Yelp and I was glad those grasshoppers scared me out of Williams... It was on route 66. I was exactly like a diner between the grand canyon and vegas would be- full of stuff animals *and I don't mean the Ted kind.. the dead kind*, desserts on display, a cool bar that I'm sure would make a great hangout in that little berg if they didn't close so early, and unique foods. We had the chili cheese burger which was not a traditional burger. It was an open-faced burger with some patties and chili and cheese on top. It was delicious. We didn't get to try much of anything there, but next time I'm fortunate to have another road trip through Arizona, I'll be sure to stop there again:)

On our way to Prescott and stopped here because we were starving. Food was very expensive and tasted terrible.......save your money!

  • Siobhan K.

Now this is the type of place that would be in a movie. A horror movie I bet (In fact the town itself is like the setting for a scary movie). Now don't get me wrong, I loved this place, it is crammed full of stuffed animals - a taxidermist dream. Staff are friendly, food is good. It's just got that eery feeling to the whole place. Like something twilighty could happen.... I would return if I could. It's interesting. If you are on this part of Route 66 check it out!

  • Jesus C.

Good food, had breakfast on the way into santa fe, and then lunch on the way home, both times food was great. They also gladly substituted my fries with veggies when I requested. This little town was pretty cool, especially seeing that the movie, Cars, was actually taken from the cars and businesses located here. I stayed the night at the motel next door and couldn't ha e been more comfortable.

    (5)
  • Ellen C.

Don't miss this place. Food is basic bar slop: hamburgers, ribs, fries, but the ambiance is absolutely priceless.

    (5)
  • Sara S.

It was not worth the stop. The exterior and the menu are the best part and then the experience ends there. The decor could have been better to play up on the road kill theme. Food Burger: husband thought it was fine Chili Dog: bad lousy chili, food was luke warm

    (2)
  • Vivien B.

Was a nice stop to enjoy dinner. It wasn't crowded at dinner and the meal was generous and delicious. I had riblets and it was a ton of food but cooked very nicely. Family owned and they have a miniture gift shop with light sight seeing on the property.

    (4)
  • Laura L.

This place is awesome if you like weird stuff. They have fun with the names of the food and the decor consists of stuffed dead animals and old country time pictures. They sell Roadkill memorabilia: t-shirts, sweaters and other random stuff. The food is great. I had the BEST hot dog EVER. I know it's just a hot dog but you'd understand if you had one. The service was fast up until we wanted the check. It's a perfect place to just walk out of without paying cuz they're so trusting. They even had cash just sitting on the counter. That would never fly in L.A. :D But yeah if you're driving thru stop by for a quick meal and take pictures of their funky establishment like I did :)

  • Jesse W.

My husband and I eat dinner here during our overnight stay at the RV park in Seligman. The food was pretty good and the service was friendly. Prices are not bad either. The decor is quite the conversation piece! It's a must see if you're in the area.

    (4)
  • S S.

Do NOT order the beef dip unless you want to overdose on salt. This was the worst I have ever had! However my spouse had the pork riblets and found them well cooked, tasty and not over salted. However he ordered cole slaw as one of the sides and got cottage cheese. Fries were average. Interesting decor in both the cafe and bar.

  • Emily B.

This place is great! I stopped in just because of the name. Checked in on yelp and saw all the great reviews. I thought no way! Ordered up the buffalo burger which was awesome, fries were great. The decor was entertaining as could be. Best of all was the staff, friendly and welcoming. I was travelling alone and waiter practically pulled up a seat to keep me company with great conversation. I highly recommend a stop if you are getting your kicks on route 66 ( sorry I couldnt resist)

Stopped here on a road trip. Loved the way it's decorated with all the animals hanging on the walls, the cool posters & nickknacks. Very fun place, Food was delicious. they have a large menu with all kinds of wonderful things.

Don't let the name fool you, this place has great food!! We stopped here on our way to Vegas. Saw the inside of the kitchen, on the way to the bathroom. It was extremely clean, always a good sign! The service was OK. The waitress was chatting up the locals, but did make it over to us. After we ordered, we went into the bar to look around. They have a lot of animal mounts, and pictures. The bartender seemed annoyed by this, even thou the bar was completely empty. ?? The food was great. I had the rubin w/fries. I hate a soggy sandwich, so I was happy that this was not. Very tasty. Hubby and son had chicken strips. Both were happy w/theirs. The portions are large here, so are the drinks. I'm sure I will drive to Vegas again, so will def. be back!!

My "Mystery Meat" sandwich, roast beef & gravy on sourdough was excellent. Wife's crab cakes had bell peppers in them, even though when she asked about it before ordering, the waitress said they didn't. Still an excellent place to stop for a bite on old Route 66.

Unlike it's competition across the street, this place was very...eclectic. It's not often that you are consuming a meat dish with a stuffed squirrel and bobcat staring at you. But, it seemed to fit the area that we were visiting. We stopped at this place on our way out to Williams and on to the Grand Canyon. This is part of the historic Route 66, and they play on that theme in this small town. This whole area is clearly there to get tourists, so while fellow yelpers were giving this place high praise, I wasn't really expecting much. I ordered what would be the equivalent to a french dip sandwich, and it was pretty damn good. They have cute little names for all the food that refer to the dead critter at hand, but I can't remember the name of this sandwich. My wife liked what she got (pulled pork), and overall, it was a pretty good lunch. The service was friendly but apathetic. If you are driving through and you can choose between Road Kill and the other place across the street, go here. MUCH better!

Super friendly people work here. Food was pretty good. I had the BLT so I guess you really can't screw this up.

In the middle of nowhere, stopped because of the sign and name. It was dead, but service was great, food was great, the buffalo burger was about 8-10 bucks with fries and drink.. but it was great! Beers were needed after the 12 hrs of driving trying to get to Vegas, 4-6 bucks for a 24 oz local beer. Worth the stop... Enjoy! ps: if you are looking for real weird foods, like snake or raccoon this is not the place just a good place for normal food with funny names.

Every restaurant searches for a "hook,' a gimmick to build a personality. Roadkill sets the standards. Wonderful menu item names, funky decor, just plain a kick. As to the adjacent OK Saloon, it's fun to look through but if you're driving on to Flagstaff or The River you might best just look around.

Worth going to once if you're into that sort of thing. Certainly nothing special and definitely over-priced.

As unassuming as this place is, you will be pleasantly surprised by the outstanding quality of food once you are served. Seligman being the birthplace of the famed historic Route 66, some of the best food and friendly atmosphere can be found at this simple diner. You will also get a chuckle a the menu and some of the menu items name and the store merchandise. Seligman is as touristy as can be but it does enjoy its quiet days. Enjoy strolling along the route for folkloric Americana, fake rattlesnakes and yummy coffee. The locals are as welcoming and friendly as can be. so when in Seligman and the stomach's got hunger pangs, stop by Roadkill Cafe whose motto is: " You kill it, we grill it." :-)

Stayed the the motel adjacent to this cafe on our road trip across the country. Don't let the name fool you, this place is great and fun. I had the most delicious Belgium Waffle for breakfast at this place. Four years later and my mouth is still watering. I hope to come back before I die :)

This restaurant is easy to slip by travelers unless you catch the food information sign on the side of the road. It's not touristy at all, even with the extensive gift shop in the restaurant. It is a funky place in a small Route 66 town a mile or so off the interstate. All the food has road kill names (Rack of Racoon, anyone?). T-shirts have menus with the animal names on the back. In the bar, are many stuffed and mounted animals. The food was very good, typical diner and American restaurant fare, and fairly cheap. The bartender and waitress were friendly. We wanted to try the OK Saloon amber ale beer, which seems to be made, and only distributed in the town on tap. We had 12 oz. of this amazing brown beer. It was not only very good but surprisingly cheap. If you can catch the modest sign for the town, be sure to stop, even if just to get a t-shirt and take a picture in front of former wildlife.

This is the place to get a bad ass breakfast!! The food here is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. Very cool place, picked up some souveniers, ate like a king, and then hit the road.

Interesting town and interior decor! This is a place for tourism, not for food!

How could we pass it up? It was exactly what we were expecting. Nothing amazing, but not bad.

This is totally a pleasant surprise while we were looking for a pit stop at the middle of nowhere. My girlfriend and I ordered a chicken noodle soup, a bow of chili and fried zucchinis. My chili was good which i give it a 85 points. But the zucchini was awesome. The zucchini was fresh and has the crunchness of a fresh vegetable. The outside crust was also crisp and not to thin nor too thick.......definitely 95 points!!

The main room of the restaurant lacked atmosphere.....so sit in the back room if you're looking to be surrounded by roadkill. The food was nothing special and the service was subpar. It served it's purpose in filling us up, but the positive reviews we read did not match the experience we encountered.

Don't waste your time. Soup and salad bar were disappointing. Food was barely mediocre. Service was slow and apathetic. Prices aren't even very good. Especially for bland food that tastes like it came from a can. We would have done better stopping at a gas station Subway. Clever concept, horrible execution. Keep driving...

I was driving my friend's little car when I asked her if we should get gas. I think I scared her a bit when I raced over to some random exit. What can I say? You can't take the LA driver out of me even on "look over your shoulder for small town cops hungry to ticket foolish city girls like me" road trips. While fueling up, we saw the Road Kill Cafe across the way and decided to get lunch. Our server was the nicest guy ever, offering my friend little taste of the cole slaw so she could decide what she wanted as a side. We eventually ended up ordering a plate of fries too and they were so good. I saw potatoes going into a thing-a-ma-bob and deep fried to perfect crispy fries. Of course, you suffered a bit of smoke inhalation if you happened to go near the grill on your way to the restroom. Our waiter didn't like cole slaw but said he actually enjoyed KFC cole slaw. I should have realized then Road Kill Cafe's slaw would not be up to standards because I didn't like their slaw and could tolerate KFC slaw (only with home made pulled pork sammies, mind you). Thank goodness we got the fries! Prices weren't really cheap. Not what I expected in the middle of nowhere, off Route 66. So, I ended up ordering the patty melt. I'm not a fan of rye bread but I love patty melts. I probably could have subbed in sourdough but the greasy (in a good way) flavor over took the sourness of the rye bread. And the patties-- yes, two patties for the patty melt were SEASONED. Hot damn, this was a good patty melt! I ate it all up even though I probably shouldn't have for cholesterol's sake. Looking back though, I'm glad I did because it was the second best meal of my trip. Who knew? A little road side cafe with an endearing waiter, kooky dead animals decor, seedy bar and best fries I've had this year. Oh yeah, the restroom is clean. And they sell lots of tacky Route 66 stuff and offer a pressed penny machine. As someone who collects souvenir smashed pennies, I was delighted to press a few before hitting the road. Lunch for 2: $25

OMG!...This place Rocked! My husband the biggest critic and complainer in the world- Loved this place! The fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy was awesome, he talked about it all the way home(410 miles) and then some. Thank you Road Kill Cafe you had one HAPPY CAMPER! :D

The food was just right. We just wanted something that tasted homey for the end of that day's drive. Our son loved the atmosphere, all the stuffed creatures, the silly menu items and the jail in the parking lot. We had the fried zucchini and they were very good. We'd go again if we were ever passing through again.

Great food, the buffalo burger was awesome. Wife had the BBQ Beef sandwich which made me jealous after I tasted it. Definitely worth stopping for. Family run and a popular hang out so service can be a little slow but good diner faire. ; )

The Road Kill Cafe is as good as it can get. In one the most unassuming location. If you are a Route 66 enthusiast or plan to do one in Arizona, this is a must visit place. The people are very friendly. The ambience is awesome, the menu is ..see it for yourself. Was delighted!!!

You gotta love a place that has a motto "You kill em, we grill em." The food was good, and reasonably priced for the area. It has nice décor with lots of old stuff hanging from the ceiling. Service was good and the food was delivered fast. Restrooms were clean and well stocked.

As my husband says, marketing genius. I, myself was a little put off by the thought of "road kill" while trying to eat...but I have to say the service was friendly and helpful and the food was great! There isn't much in this town in the way of food, so if you're passing through give it a try...it has all the usual diner fare and it was very tasty and filled us up for the long drive back to LA.

We stopped here on a search for good burgers along 40 in between CA and Albuquerque, and they definitely delivered. Our waitress was super friendly, and made sure we were in and out in under 30 minutes. Steve and Man-slice had the buffalo burgers and i had the regular burger, and all three were tasty with really good fries.

i just love seligman, az! really cute hippie, quirky town. not for everyone. it's just a WEIRD, random, old historic Route 66 place. this restaurant doesn't fit in, but just stop by so you can see the town. you'll be hungry so you can either wait in line at snow cap for a milkshake or sit down and have a real meal after all that driving. this is the place to do it. enjoy your $10 burger in the middle of nowhere!
