My favorite Mexican place in Sedona. Not sure why the bad reviews but I have been there at least a dozen times and it is always delish. Try the guac, their taco saks or enchiladas. Everything is tasty, especially when washed down with a prickly pear margarita on the rocks. They are strong! Enjoy!

While food is expensive in Sedona, this restaurant is a little ridiculous. The portions are so tiny, the food is average, and everything is so expensive! $8 for one tiny (a mini taco sized tortilla, not even normal grocery store taco sized tortillas) vegetarian enchilada with no sides is ridiculous. My $6 tossed salad was the size of my friend's garnishes however it came with 2 canned black olives which the garnish does not. The free chips (I hope they were free but we weren't able to read the scribble of the bill so who knows) were stale. The table salsa was average. The guacamole was really good but that's what one expects for an expensive appetizer. I really could not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's infuriating to be served such tiny portions of average food for way too much.

I don't know if we were there on an "off" day but the food was just horrible. True, service is wonderful. I did feel bed for our waitress who had to face our disappointment. For such outrageous prices you expect the food to be at least edible. It was not. They even managed to mess up guacamole bean tacos. The soft tacos were stale and cold. The beans tasted dried out and bland (seemed canned to me), there were just a small smear of guacamole, which you couldn't at all taste. I took one bite and was done. My friend had beef tacos which were equally horrific. Even refried beans someone managed to taste awful. Cold, bland and featuring melted cheese (?!). The chips and salsa also bland and stale. Some of the worst i've ever had. Shockingly bad all around, stay away.

The restaurant is in a shopping center of fun art, jewelry and the like. I thought the restaurant would be another "gem" of a find. Not at all. The menu and food were very basic. Our waitress was nice. She brought us a margarita on-the-rocks when the frozen margarita we ordered ended up being horrible. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

On my previous trip to Sedona, I went here for drinks and dessert after dinner. They had a WONDERFUL Chocolate Martini, but there was not that much of a crowd. Fortunately, my date and I kept each other company and played some pool while watching sports. Just don't go on a Monday night because they are closed.

I went here for lunch after a Pink Jeep tour that morning. The location of the restaurant is really attractive, although there are no views of the red rocks from their patio. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a patio seat because it is quite small, but that wasn't a problem at all. The service was really friendly and had great salsa with their tortilla chips. Another thing I really respected was the fact that all the beans are prepared vegetarian style. Unfortunately, this benefit did not help with the taste. It always makes me a bit apprehensive when things are all prepared enchilada style. How good can something be if it must be drenched in a ton of sauce? We ordered the bean dip as an appetizer, which was literally just refried pinto beans with red enchilada sauce and sprinkle of cheese. It was heated all the way through, but it just totally lacked flavor except for the red sauce. I ordered a guacamole and black bean taco, although I had been expecting two tacos there was only one. The taco was in a pre-packaged corn tortilla shell and ruined most of the taste of the taco. Within the taco was literally just black beans, guacamole, a bit of lettuce and a couple pieces of tomatoes. On the side of a plate was a huge amount of lettuce, totally unnecessary amount for the meal. I ended up just breaking up my taco into the lettuce, making it seem more filling.

Looking for a good Mexican restaurant while travelling to the area, The restaurant is nestled in a quaint shopping area called Tlaquepaque, very cute, the restaurant itself is not exceptional looking but the little shops around and area reminds me of a Mexican pueblo. The restaurant did not seem to be well staffed as there were many open tables but we had about a 10 minute wait but anyways not an issue the host was very nice and though they don't have a public bar he did suggest we could go to the bar a couple of steps away to get a drink while waiting. We had such a taste for Mexican food and couldnt wait, when we got seated we received the typical basket of chips and salsa. The salsa was good enough, nothing exceptional or memorable but the chips OMG, I think a piece of cardboard might have more taste, these bar none were the worst chips ever, absolutely no flavor. So thinking we could overcome the lack of taste so we ordered some guacamole, what we got was a little cup of what I can only describe as green colored sour cream, in no way did this taste like guacamole and Im not sure it actually had avocado, no tomatoes nothing, green something with cheese shredding on top for garnish. I ordered the chicken burrito and really don't have anything bad or good to say about it, it was smothered with melted cheese on top which I remember thinking was a little bit much and overpowering. The wait staff was very nice and attentive but the sadly the food is not Mexican and nothing I could recommend. Will continue to look for a Authentic Mexican Restaurant.

We vacationed in Sedona last November and ate here. We were not very impressed with the food, though the service was good. Now on a return trip to Sedona we decided to give this place another chance. Nothing has changed. The service is still good, in fact we had the same waitress as last time. The food is still pricey, still bland, and it's still served in small quantities. The chips had no flavor and were not even salted. The salsa was good with a medium heat. My girls and I shared the sampler plate and for us it was almost enough as we tend to be light eaters. The waitress was very timely with refills on soda and lemonade. If we return to Sedona we will not eat here.

This place is a must stop when in Sedona. Great chimichangas and margaritas. Very friendly staff. Very good rice. Not like I've had before. Highly recommended !

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
