This is pretty much the only game in town and I was drawn in by a sign on Hwy 7 at the city limits. I wanted this to be the reason to recommend others to cruise down to Sparkman. This is a small town without a traffic light for 20 miles but we could not immediately find the place since there was no sign on the business. After driving through town and turning around, we stopped at the only place with an "Open" sign and another which announced they were now accepting major credit cards. We stopped in for lunch at 1:00 pm. There were three other customers; one had been served an enormous plate of nachos and the other two were waiting for their food. Three other customers came in for call-in orders while we were there. Callers were told their orders would be ready in 20 minutes. This is NOT fast food; each order is prepared from scratch. Expect to spend an hour for lunch but expect it will be pretty good. Together, we had a jumbo cheeseburger, a wrap, and a large order of onion rings. With two drinks and a tip, it cost $20. The burger was very good and earns an honorable mention in the Arkansas burger tour. The onion rings were okay. We're pretty sure the waitress got the order wrong on the wrap. The decor is wrong for this place and was clearly acquired from a Chinese restaurant. Some ambient music or the television would be nice to keep the customers from hearing too much from the kitchen. The restrooms were in below average shape for cleanliness and they were out of hand towels. "Just use the toilet paper." Not good. The loose gravel parking lot will be enough to discourage most motorcyclists but the paved lot at the high school was a safe alternative. This was my first visit to the Main St. Cafe so perhaps others may have a better experience. Please post them on Yelp.
