Great place to stop after digging in the park. Service was outstanding. 2 people refilling out drinks. I had the chicken fajita. My daughter had the chimmichunga and my hubby had burrito loco. All excellent. Best thing that happened to is all day since we were diamond-less. A plus.

Los Agaves was recommended by everyone we spoke to. We were in town visiting the Crater of Diamonds park. I am from Southern California and very particular about my Mexican food. This place lives up to the best in So. Cal. Everyone had something different and all cleaned their plates. Both the green and red salsas were great. If you have room, definitely get the fried ice cream. Delicious.

It's okay. Food arrived hot and fresh. Salsa had a good flavoring. Wouldn't recommend sitting next to the windows too many flies trying to take over.

The cleanliness here was good, the service was excellent, but the food was so so, and this is why I took away a star. I had one of the burrito dishes which was bland, but our waiter was fantastic. I don't know his name, but he wouldn't let me drain my soda. He was always topping it off.

Visiting Murfreesboro from Louisiana, went to Los agave for dinner, was greeted well. Orders nachos, they were excellent. Ordered entrees, wanted different things in order than what was on menu. Order came exactly like we ordered, food was best Mexican food we've had. BEST PLACE TO EAT IN MURFREESBORO by far. Employees there very friendly

This place popped on to our radar shortly after checking into our motel (guess which of the 3 we are staying at...it's yellow and boring looking...it is located directly in between the other two in town...yeah, you probably already know) which is just up the road...(or is it down the road?) Haha, who knows. Anyways it only took 2 minutes to read through all the local restaurants (only about 5 of them) and they all had roughly 4 stars. How do you decide when you just arrived in a town that you've never heard of? We read through all the reviews and figured that since his place had the most reviews that it would be the best choice. After our 30 second car trip, with no traffic, we arrived and were instantly seated at a clean table. Moments later a mini carafe of salsa and bowl of chips rapidly appeared. The menu was a ridiculous like 6 pages long...this really slowed down my decision process. Then someone ran to take our order and not even 5 minutes later our food arrived. Talk about the shortest wait I've ever had for food. I ordered the combo and selected one beef burrito with queso and a tamale. The sides were rice and beans. The burrito was my favorite part but wasn't really a burrito. It was just a beef taco with queso sauce. Very good and simple. The tamale was ok but not the best I've ever had. I liked the queso and the beans and rice were unmentionably bland. The salsa and chips were my favorite parts of the meal! All in all this place was good for where it's at.

Our dinners were good. The Milanesa was amazing!! Would have loved a cold margarita after being out digging with the girls all day but was told they don't have those. They were insanely fast in their service. My hubby was laughing at how fast they were nearly running around the place delivering food and pouring waters.

We arrived with a large party and they easily made room for us. The wait staff was nice and fast. The food was good. They were able to satisfy the vegetarians and the kids in our group. We all walked away full.

Excellent food! We had 7 kids and 4 adults which is a hard group to serve and there were no mistakes and food was great! I highly recommend the shrimp ceviche! Fresh brilliantly bright dish.

Wife and I love road trips. When it comes to Mexican, living in San Antonio gives us a standard by which we can measure others. Los Agaves is on par with the BEST in SAT...in Arkansas! I had the chiles rellenos, wife had what she ordered as carne guisada came out as carne asada. No worries...it's still steak. ALL EXCELLENTE!!! The limeade RULES and free refills, I had five glasses before I realized it! And to the commenter below about rolling up the streets at 5pm...Murfreesboro is in a dry county (Pike), which basically means no nightlife since alcohol sales are not allowed by law. You can bring in alcohol, but it is not sold. Otherwise, Los Agaves is a GREAT place for Mexican food in Murfreesboro! Since wife and I are becoming regulars here, we have put Los Agaves on our map!

Tired little diamond miners need vittles after a hard day's work, and you friendly folk who've already reviewed Los Agaves turned us toward this place. We totally agreed- amazing, fast and friendly service, and delicious food that came out of the kitchen within such a short time I was stunned. The queso blanco was the bomb and we all loved our dishes. There were only two problems: they were completely out of limes... And they were completely out of carne (a la carne asada or carne guisada). Oh, well. The next time we're digging for gems we will try them again, because they were worth it. Also, major thanks to the attentive manager, who apologized for the restaurant being out of their now-famous limeade. He made that up to us by making some fresh lemonade which was amazing- real lemons squeezed right there. Delicioso!

The guys that own it are cool, food was fast and good, I would go again. I was disappointed that they had no lengua for burritos and tacos, come on guys. This place is deserving of your hard earned $. Just go.

While in town for work, the client suggested lunch at Los Agaves. I can say at lunch their service was quick, friendly, attentive. My drink was never half full, chips and salsa were plentiful and food came quickly. I did enjoy that they had several very tasty vegetarian options. I went with the veggie fajitas. They included spinach and mushrooms. Although unexpected was super tasty. The only issue was lack of tortillas...which they were quick to supply. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a tasty, fast, quality lunch.

Food was good, for that location. I live in Texas so i am use to goo tasting Mexican. My only upset was the waitress had a hard time understanding us and i guess she was assuming we spoke Spanish and we don't. A big upset was we walked in and asked for takeout because the drive through had a very minimal menu option so we went inside and the staff was shocked that we wanted take out and had to ask like three times what we were doing. Then i didn't get what i ordered when i repeated my order three time to the waitress on a slight change in the order. 3 upsets and 3 stars lost.

This food was recommended by the RV Park owner. It was good food for a small town in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. Service was excellent and the manager had a great sense of humor. If you like them on Facebook they will give you a ten per cent discount.

Had the lunch burrito agaves. Meh. Ranchero special looked better. Can't complain much, it was less than $6. To be fair, I'm from Houston area, and our Mexican food rocks.

My family had a splendid visit! This is our third time visiting Los Agaves. Whenever we come to Murfreesboro, we stop here. It never disappoints! The food is excellent. They serve PLENTY of food so come hungry. The servers are a delight. We will definitely come back. Do yourself a favor and try "Los Pollos Mexicano," "Fajitas Jalisco" or "Burritos Alejandro."

Best food we had while we stayed in Murfreesboro. Also, the best and friendliest staff of anybody we encountered at a restaurant in Arkansas. Though the menu is huge (which is to be expected at many Mexican places), the service is incredibly prompt and food was FLYING out of the kitchen on a Sunday night. We expected to have mediocre food, because hey it's AR, but we were very surprised when we started eating. Better Tex Mex than a lot of places we have in Dallas. When we were paying, the Manager on duty asked us how it was and when we said that (1) we were from Texas and (2) we loved it, you would have thought that we told the guy he just won the lottery. I'm pretty sure he would have given me his kidney if we asked.

Get the Chile Relleno. We came to Murfreesboro to look for diamonds, and we found one in Los Agaves.

Best restaurant in Murfreesboro by far! Get the limeaid drink. Chips and salsa are solid and arrive at your table within a minute of sitting down. I ate every last bite of my entree which was a taco salad. Dessert of sopapillas was the perfect ending.

Giving them a 3 star just because of the service. Chips and salsa were good, but the ,food was needing a lot of help. I had the enchilada plater, which was very dry, the tortillias were hard, you almost needed a steak knife to cut them. I would not go back, but if you plan on eating in this town get there before 5 cause they roll up the streets.

Arkansas has good Mexican food? Who would have thought that Murfreesboro would be harboring such a gem. They had good salsa, a great relleno, and tasty enchilada sauce. Even the chicken taco was delicious. To top it off, the service was friendly and speedy too.

The food here is amazing!!! The green salsa is the best I've ever had. The tamales were just like the ones I love from San Antonio. The staff was friendly & wonderful.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
