Sigh. I so don't get the great reviews of this place...but, that said, let's start with the positives. Here they are: The service was GREAT. Never had an empty glass, didn't have to wait for a table and the food was served hot and in a timely manner. I also liked the kitschy, folksy country ambiance. When you're in a small Southern town, this place is exactly how you'd like your steakhouse to look. Now for the overwhelming negative: THE FOOD. It's just terrible. I really, REALLY wanted to like this place, but sadly, that just wasn't possible. I asked the waitress what she recommended as an appetizer and she said "The fried mushrooms - we get lots of compliments on them!" So hubby and I ordered the fried mushrooms. They looked nice (much like the restaurant), but upon eating them, both of us found them to be incredibly bland with no seasoning whatsoever (not even salt). The order came with a very tacky plastic container of ranch dressing. Okay, I get that they are trying to keep food costs down and want to make sure customers don't waste condiments, but come on...at LEAST put the two tablespoons of ranch dressing in a ceramic cup. Next, we ordered the entrees. I had a Reuben sandwich, hubby had the French Dip. Hoping that the fried appetizer mushroom disappointment was just a fluke, I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into a tasty Reuben. Nope, didn't happen. Over toasted, marble (white and rye) bread housed some tasteless sauerkraut, swiss cheese, corned beef and a dabble of dressing. Again, NO SEASONING! Not even salt! I ate half the sandwich hoping for that perfect bite that never came. Truthfully, it was the worst sandwich I ever had...or so I thought. Seeing that my handsome husband was none to happy with his meal, I asked him if I could taste his. I dipped my bite into the au jus and sunk my teeth into what tasted like a sponge dipped in Lipton Beef Flavored Dry Soup Mix. Yuck. Lo' and behold, a sandwich that was actually worse than mine. Now come on, these were two very simple sandwiches and both of them were dreadful. Ms. Jones feels this place is a disaster. Save your money and go somewhere else - you will be happy you did.

My new Favorite restaurant in Mena. We stayed at their B&B and enjoyed our dinner of All you can eat Catfish. Best fried catfish ever, but they can also prepare it grilled or baked. I have heard the steaks and burgers are also very good. We will try them on our next visit. The restaurant is also a meat market where you can buy your meats and take them with to grill later. Thanks, William for your hospitality! J & A from Broken Arrow, OK

This place is really good! We are on a road trip from San Diego, CA. We spent couple days in Mena hiking and enjoying nature. For dinner we wanted something filling and good. First off the staff is really friendly and on top of their game. The food was amazing. I had an angus burger customized to the T. Mushroom, bacon, Swiss, chipotle mayo, no onions, and topped with SAUERKRAUTS!!! I also ordered my fries loaded and they were delicious. My husband ordered the French dip sandwich and home fries and he loved it too. Now for dessert we ordered the Turtle Cheesecake and split it. It was recommended by our server Britney! So so very good. Best of all. Their prices are very good! They have a large variety of just about everything!

Wow. We wanted a good meal for Valentine's Day in Mena. This place had pretty good reviews, so we tried it out. The ambiance is nice and you get the feeling you are in a warm cabin. They have an area where they sell steaks and other awesome looking cuts of beef. We were seated by a really friendly host and quickly started decided what to eat. The menu looked pretty good. I got a strip steak and coconut shrimp with a side salad. Hubby a ribeye with grilled shrimp and a side salad. Both salads came with a packet of dressing! One was Newman's Own. I was pretty shocked that this place didn't make its own dressing. Even the salt and pepper shakers were plastic. What???? Oh, we also got a shrimp cocktail to share. The shrimp was fine, but the cocktail sauce was, again, in a plastic container. Hello, landfill! Our steaks and shrimp came next. The steak had a great flavor, but we both found that the quality of the meat was not as amazing as was touted. I ended up with three coconut shrimp while hubby got 10 or 11 grilled shrimp. I am not sure why that was how they did it. He kept saying my shrimp was a lot larger, but once I took off all of the breading it was the same size as his! I was pretty annoyed by that shrimp discrepancy. Before I end this review, I must tell you the bathroom was like walking into the seedy underbelly of this place. Once you pass the soda machine, you are suddenly in the back area. Buckets were laying about and it wasn't very clean. Why wouldn't you make your restrooms and the passage to those as nice as the rest of the place? I found that odd. After our experience, we were more than ready to go. Our waiter suddenly went missing, so I flagged down another guy to go get him. He came rushing out a few minutes later and took care of getting us on our way. It was a strange and not yummy experience.

I planned a overnight trip with about 25 people in Oct of 2014 and found this place for dinner. I called ahead for reservations and when we arrived everything was waiting for us, we had the upstairs area. The food was delicious, great service and we felt welcome with a group. We plan on making a trip again in Oct and having dinner again.

The six-ounce sirloin is all my stomach can hold, but it is always cooked to perfection and delicious. The potato soup is one of the best soups I have ever had and the cheese sticks are wonderful. Will be coming back even after I move.

We had burgers and they were fantastic! The beef was superb, very fresh and tasty! The fries and onion rings were average and we split a piece of coconut pie that was good but did not take homemade. The service was good and the log cabin interior was very nice and comfortable! We will definitely stop here again when in the area!

If I could I would give them 1.5 stars. The only reason for the second star is due to the atmosphere of the restaurant and our server Jorden, who did an excellent job. Our servers, Jorden did a 5 star job, keeping us as happy as she could. My tea glass was never empty... My wife and I split an order of fried mushrooms to begin with. They arrived at the table with NO seasoning on them at all accompanied by a cheap "to go" plastic cup that contained no more than a heaping tablespoon of ranch dressing. Completely bland and no flavor. The batter had NO seasoning at all. I ordered the french dip, and as a chef myself I have enjoyed french dip's all over the world. This was by far the worst excuse at an attempt to prepare one I have ever tasted. First, I noticed it had a pile of long greasy stringy onions all over it. I had never seen that on any french dip anywhere else. After tasting them I immediately took them away from the plate, because they ruined the sandwich. I dipped my sandwich into the alledged au jus and found it to be soup mix of some kind that came from a package. If there was any cheese, it must have been globbed in with the onions because I didn't find any. The meat had no seasoning either. Just bland and slightly dry. After eating half of my sandwich I couldn't stand to eat anymore. I asked my wife to taste it and she agreed that it was the worst she had every had as well. The fries were frozen...not fresh, and came with, again, a small plastic "to go" cup with less than a tablespoon fo ketchep inside. No nearly enough for the order of fries. I was queezy most of the night from this dish and wanted nothing else to eat until far into the next morning. My wife had the reuben sandwich. Again it was terrible. She chocked down about a fourth of it and asked me to taste it. Normally these sandwiches come on lightly toasted rye (her's was pretty burned) and not rye bread at all. There was little bit of lame corned beef, I think, and if there was any sauerkraut on it at all it much have been hiding because I couldn't taste it. All reuben's have swiss cheese and russian dressing. I saw the cheese, such as it was though it was of cheap quality and little flavor, and sadly no russian dressing at all. Usually reuben's are piled high with corned beef and sauerkraut, then topped with good swiss cheese and plenty of russian dressing. Sadly, not this one. Then I walked to the counter to pay the bill, after tipping Jorden well due to her great job under the circumstances. Waiting for over 5 minutes, my wife went on to the car. I finally approached a guy to ask if anyone wanted my money or should I just go, that I wasn't going to stand there all night. Then a male cashier appeared and claimed he was "taking care of an issue with another customer's food". I actually believed him! Probably happens often there. Needless to say my wife and I will NOT be returning to the establishment when we are in town. We both agreed that we would rather eat at McDonald's. It would be a better tasting meal. My wife is a food critique for a Dallas Texas newspaper, and I am a professionally trained Le Cordon Bleu Chef and certified sommelier. If you are looking for good, well prepared cuisine then keep driving and spend your money somewhere else. You'll be glad that you did.

Fast and accurate. This restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and the cooks definitely know their art. Every time I have been my order has been perfect. And on the one occasion that it wasn't the wait staff were super fast at correcting the issue. The price can be a little expensive however the quality is worth it. I eat here every chance I get. Their in house setting is rustic and modern all at once. Finally there are several items for purchase along with the menu items. The second floor is perfect for groups or parties.

Pretty decent food if you are looking for a rib stickin', comfort food type of experience. Service is slow and forgetful, but friendly. Chicken fried steak is the standout.

Ribeye was great. Service wasn't excellent but was still good overall. Bread bar is a fantastic thing to have.

We both got hamburgers. The mushroom swiss and the smoked cheddar. Great burgers. Nice and thick, with great cheese. The mushrooms were wonderful. I dumped the veggies off my smoked cheddar and ate them separately. While fries come with the burger, I saw them at another table and opted for mashed potatoes and gravy instead. Yes, both were instant, but better than frozen fake potato fries to me. They also had a wonderful selection of deserts but we were so full from the burger, that we couldn't eat one. NOTE FOR MOTORCYCLISTS: THEY HAVE A GRAVEL LOT.

I went here on a recommendation, this steak was flavorless and the restaurant seems to concerned with portioning ketchup and steak sauce to really give good service. Not the place I expected after all the talk. Big disappointment.

Best fried catfish I've ever eaten. Crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. Excellent! Excellent sirloin too!
