I would give three and a half stars if I could, as I think it is better than three stars, but not four-star worthy. It is still my favorite Mexican joint in Conway. I've been twice, and my husband dines here regularly for lunch. Both times I've had the same thing, Vegetarian Combination C. The first time, the "bean burrito" was beef, but that was fine. This time, they asked if I wanted red sauce or cheese, and I ordered cheese, but they brought red. I told the server the problem and he quickly replaced it. This time we had to wait awhile for our food, but my husband says that is the first time that has ever happened with his orders there. My husband's combination included a hard-shell taco, and he said the shell was stale, but the rest of the meal was very good. I like the guacamole very much, which we always order with chips. It tastes fresh and has a little kick. We will return. They are the only Mexican restaurant I know of in Conway that can sell alcohol, and the margaritas are great! And generous!

I would give this place zero stars, however that's not an option. Worst service ever. Manager never came to our table. The waitress took a break in the middle of our meal. No refills. Food was not right and they made us pay for the entire meal and tried to charge us for things we did not order. Do not go here!

Just not crazy about the food. Been there several times and the service is good, but the food is just not very good. Last time I went was on a Sunday night and just for the bar

This place is a joke. Authentic is a buzzword they have on the sign but it is trashy dive bar food only trying to do mexican food rather than burgers and gut killers. The food is mediocore at best and looks like something a three year old might make... I mean seriously browned guacamole, a burrito that has no elevation past something I could do at home, and small ridiculous portions... just don't waste your money and your time. Spend it at the other mexican spots that actually taste and look good and don't feel like you fell into a Mexican clown show. Just saying

Living in San Francisco can spoil you when it comes to eating out. There seems to be a bazillion great places to go without having to pawn your Fender bass or PS3. So when I come here to Conway to visit my son, I'm looking for a good Mexican restaurant while being mindful I'm not in the Mission. They like to go to El Parian, a sit-down restaurant with colorful booths and live soccer action playing on the T.V.s I like soccer so that's a point right there. The food is simple, cheap and catered to folks who probably have never been to Mexico. The guacamole salad is a simple fare of slivered iceberg lettuce with a dollop of guacamole on top. Nothing here folks, just move along. The entrees all come with rice and refried beans and most, not all, have a generic, un-Mexican-like cheese sauce which my son and his friends rave about. No thanks. The best thing I found on the menu was the Camarones El Diabla which came in a mild, slightly sweet red sauce..not much heat but lots of shrimp. Oh..and the salsa they bring out with the chips..I thought it was tomato juice. No heat whatsoever. BUT..I asked for salsa picante and they brought out a much better dark , smokey salsa with jalapeno seeds and a nice kick. If you need more heat, ask for a bowl of jalapenos too. That enlivened my dish quite a bit. The food isn't bad and like I said, it's cheap. Three of us ate for $23 including tea. Very good for the budget-minded. The wait staff are very efficient and friendly and they love it when people practice their Spanish (I'm not fluent but I can order quite well). I will go back because the seventh time you at there, it's free...Something they don't do at Pancho Villas or El Toros in the Mission!

I just don't like their food, I remembered that their fired ice-cream was ice cream with cereals , it was odd...

The Frog. This place is sentimental to me - great friends and I have been regulars of this place for a few years now. The staff is really friendly, more so than any other restaurant I've been to. They've always been attentive as well. The food is typical Americanized Mexican and tasty. I'll always go to El Parian when I'm craving Mexican food. :)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
