Went here for brunch on a friday and everything was phenomenal. We ordered the bread pudding pancakes (really good pancakes, but not really "bread pudding"), the vegetable quiche, and the crabcake benedict (highly recommend, you can actually taste the crab!). Also ordered an iced chai tea latte, but I'll admit that it was very milky and didn't have much chai flavor. Great service as well!

Edgar's works better as a bakery than a cafe. Bad news first. The chai was terrible. I ordered it with nonfat milk because typically the chai syrup is already thick and sweet enough that I don't need to overload the sugar. However, I barely tasted any chai. Just hot nonfat milk. Good news is that I love all of their pastries. I like the samples that they leave out. Anything to do lemon always gets me. They do resell pastries from the previous day, but it doesn't bother me since they're good and taste amazing. It really would be a ridiculous waste if they didn't reuse them. I ordered the strawberry muffin and it was like eating fruit bread. It was delicious.

Love this place! Has delicious strawberry cake for my sister in laws birthday. Amazing! We went back early the next morning and got two boxes of delicious day old goods. I think my favorite thing from here so far is their orange rolls! Go early for a deal!

What a great little cafe/bakery! All the lunch options looked amazing! Ended up with the fried green tomato BLT with a side of potato salad. Absolutely delicious! The homemade chips are also really good! Would go back in a heartbeat, and take some dessert to go ;)

One of my and my family's favorite places to get lunch or pick up dessert(s) for special occasions. Be sure to grab piece of strawberry cake while waiting in line! Yum

Definately Yummy! Pricey but worth it. I didn't care to much for the lunch menu however all if the pastries, bread and cake that I ate was worth every calorie. I don't understand why in the south all the bakeries are closed on Sundays. Where I am from there was a line out the doors on Sundays. Everyone wants a snack after church.

This is the best place for breakfast or lunch in Tuscaloosa. My wife and I go nearly every Saturday. We've tried everything on the menu and have never had a bad meal. The highlights are definitely the Break Pudding pancakes, French Toast, Curry Chicken Salad, and Eggs Benedict (the best I've ever had). The food would be a deal at twice the price, but the fact that two people can eat well for $15 makes it hard to find an excuse to go anywhere else.

Decent place. Okay quality cakes. Have tried strawberry, Italian cream, and vanilla. Their lemon cheesecake bars are too die for. Not a fan of their breakfast but lunch is decent for the prices. Would visit again.

Edgar's is located in a funny little strip mall thing that made it a little difficult to find, but had a lovely outdoor sitting area with trees and a fountain. The interior was much larger than I was expecting and very slick. The coffee was just okay, what you would expect from one of those large thermos keg things. I didn't quibble about it because it was about as expensive as I would pay at a gas station for the same quality, though I did take a star off for it though I wish I could give them a 4.5 instead. It was really about the cake though. I read on Yelp that the strawberry cake was great, so that's that I got. It's violently pink and a bit scary, though the slice was large enough to where I felt justified in spending almost $4 on it. But how does it taste? Let me start by saying I generally avoid fruit flavored cakes and baked goods like the plague because all they taste like is chemicals and medicine. This cake is not those things. This cake actually tastes like what I always wanted a strawberry cake to taste like. You know, strawberry-ish. The cake was light and fluffy but satisfying with a nice, moist crumb. The star though is the frosting. I generally hate bakery frosting, but this was a strawberry flavored cream cheese frosting that made the cake pop. It was the perfect amount too as most places just slather it on and I have to scrape it off. I was in strawberry cake heaven. Overall, it was a great place to stop and I'd like to try it again to see if they get a higher rating with their other food as well.

Nice little bakery and sandwich shop. The decor is pretty basic and they do stock a variety of gift items and pre-packed cookie and cake boxes. There is a sizable pastry case with a wide variety of cookies and cakes. Other food comes in te for. Of sandwiches and soup; a given soup and quiche of the day in addition to a pretty stable list of sandwiches and salads. Staff are friendly and efficient. Portion sizes are generous; you get a LOT of food for your dollar here. Sandwiches come with chips and a side, for example. I got the bake potato salad for a side which was phenomenal. My only complaint is they only have charred black dark roast for coffee, quite unpleasant to the taste. I would like to see more varieties of soups as well instead of the solitary "soup of the day", particularly with the cold weather.

I'm not normally a huge 'sweets eater' but it's a different story when I'm around Edgar's. The Red Velvet cupcakes and Italian Creme cupcakes...wow! The best I've ever had of either. So glad to hear they're expanding to new locations!

I ordered their Bread Pudding Pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've ever had!! They have a nice variety of baked goods, very nice staff, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Edgar's to anyone looking for a great breakfast place. Just make sure to get their bright and early, it fills up quick!

Haven't ordered yet and already a failure. 11:35 am and filthy chairs and floor. Tables are wet showing at least they were wiped off. But my goodness, at least wipe off the chairs and sweep more than once a day.

Best strawberry cake EVER! Also love their café items. Chicken quesadilla is yummy! Soups and salads great as well! Was fan in Birmingham! Happy to have one in my college town!

We had breakfast here on Monday morning. After a difficult decision, I chose the Bread Pudding Pancakes. They were delicious. This place is Spotless. The employees are professional and courteous. The food was served quickly. The coffee was premium. (But they only supply take-out cups. Real coffee cups would have been a 5+ rating) The pastry selection was the freshest and most varied (almost overwheming) I've found in Tuscaloosa, and the display cases were clearly labeled as to content and price. We will be back.

Had the grilled turkey cranberry sandwich. It was like Thanksgiving in a perfect bite. So good. Would definitely go back.

Enjoyed breakfast at Edgar's Bakery one morning on our visit to Tuscaloosa. What a delight!! We enjoyed the French toast, but the bread pudding pancakes were delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer in Tuscaloosa to make another visit to this warm and inviting bakery. The employees were all friendly and patient as they explained the menu and the history of this restaurant. Can't wait to come back to Edgar's
