Love the food and the prices! We come here a lot. The sushi is amazing and very fresh. Only complaint is the service. All servers act like they would rather be anywhere but at work, and don't give much attention. You have to ask for everything. But he food is so good we deal :)

This is a great spot for sushi. The staff has always been great and the food is decently priced. We go here for lunch and it's never to crowded. They have some very unique and fried sushi rolls. Taking a bite out of some of their sushi rolls send my taste buds in to a frenzy. Always good and worth a try!

I met a friend for lunch with my two sprogs. Sprogs got the bento box, which they thoroughly enjoyed (they usually go for sushi, so they're not good for judging whether picky eaters or kids who are only accustomed to hot dogs/mac and cheese/whatever nonsense is considered "kid food"), and I got the sushi lunch special. The options are pretty paltry for sushi, but considering we're in a landlocked area, I shouldn't complain too much. I think there were ten or so rolls to choose from in the lunch special (two rolls and either a salad or miso soup). The prices weren't unreasonable. I want to say the lunch special was about $9. We'd definitely go back!

I visited Mizu on my lunch break with a few of my coworkers who go there frequently. You can choose whether you sit at the hibachi or not. They have sushi and different items that can be prepared on the grill. We sat at the grill and the show was fun to watch, but the food was only subpar. I've gotten better fried rice at a Chinese buffet. The chicken wasn't bad, but not great either. The best thing was the dressing that they put on the salad. A very tasty ginger mix. The price wasn't too terrible, but I expected the food to be better as usually I enjoy it prepared that way. I haven't been back since, but my coworkers still love it.

Chocolatini is delish; maybe a bit strong, depending on bartender. I like the ambiance here (aside from it being oddly placed, in a strip mall) and enjoyed the rolls. Waitstaff was friendly & accommodating.

As usual, Mizu didn't disappoint. The sushi was fresh & tasty! The service was timely & friendly. We had the lunch special of 3 rolls & a soup or salad. It always hits the spot. Our favorite sushi place in Birmingham!

It's been a couple of years since we were at Mizu. Tonight I was craving sushi, so we drove 30 min into town for dinner. The faces had changed, but the Sake was good & we ordered our meal. Michelle just ordered a roll & it came with my miso soup & salad. My sushi & sashimi combo took a bit longer. When the waiter serves me, he apologizes it is late stating "the chef just cut his finger off & is on the way to the hospital". They were honestly shocked when I refused the meal & asked for the check! I don't care which chef - telling me someone lost a finger as you serve me raw fish is NOT appropriate.

Great sushi. Staff was pleasant. Best Japanese in trussville. Only Japanese restaurant open in Trussville on Christmas day.

Ithe food was good; but I will not be back to this restaurant. Our part of 20 had to wait for over 2 hours to eat. We asked for the manager (whom never came) twice! Then what we ordered was twice as much as we expected because "it was the dinner meal and the lunch is what's on the menu". Umph! NEVER AGAIN!

The atmosphere is amazing. So relaxing with all the running water fountains and soft music and soft lighting. May be the best internal ambiance in town. The food was great and the service was top notch. And I had 4 young children so that is saying a lot. Will be back.

Excellent sashimi. Amazing thick cuts! Tuna tataki appetizer was extremely thin cuts, my only issue, which is not much of an issue, as it was still very delicious. Very fresh fish..... very tasty. Service was excellent. Wait time was not very long at all. Also, it is rare that I actually enjoy miso soup because it seems to have an aftertaste. Not theirs - truly enjoyed that, too!

I wish I could've rated this restaurant but after waiting 1 hour and 45 mins we decided to leave! We were told 45 minutes and really do not know how long we would've waited. Seems like they are still in training on how to run a restaurant.

I love their sushi! My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is that most of the sushi places I go to give you 8 pieces in an order. At Mizu you only get 6. BUT, Mizu's prices are a lot better. I love their lunch specials. You can get 2 select rolls with soup or salad for around $8 or 3 rolls and soup or salad for around $10. I also love the fact that they have a lot of vegetarian rolls. Presentation is always great too! One thing that is a negative is that at night it is very loud. Not from the customers or anything. They play music really loud and if there are birthdays they have an annoying birthday song. At our first visit there, it came on about every 5 min. And not only music, but all these different colored lights like a disco bar or bad anime movie. We have not been back at night time. I usually call my order in and take it home or go around lunch time. Lunch time is very peaceful and quiet.

Yikes! I got food poisoning here. It was a month before I fully recovered. The food was below average for everything from sushi to hibachi. The waiter was rude and rushed because the place is under-staffed.

We enjoy visiting Mizu on a regular basis and it is our Japanese Hibachi of choice in the Birimngham area. The atmosphere is unique, more modern asian techno, but nice. All of the sushi i have had there is very good and the hibachi is top notch.
