The food was great!!!! the baked chicken was a bit salty, but the rest off the food was seasoned well and was delicious, other than that no complaints food wise...... the cashier could have been way friendlier but overall the restaurant was good choice

Went with a group of 9. The food was fresh, hot and well stocked. The server did good a keeping the drinks full at our table. Even took back the first glass of soda that had a fly in it ( was not her fault, she was not the one that filled my drink from the start). If I am in a rush to eat I will be back. Quick in and quick out.

I was pumping gas across the street when my stomach started to rumble. Even though I was on a road trip, the normal fast food places weren't calling to me. I was in the mood for something different but I wasn't sure what. Immediately I found my answer. Out of my hangry daze, I started to focus on what's directly in front of me. Western Sizzling was advertising a $6.99 10 oz. sirloin dinner. Immediately it lured me in. I wasn't sure what to expect but I figured a steak at a steakhouse can't be bad. So I drove across, dreaming about the juicy steak I was about to consume. I go inside and promptly pay for my takeout. Hostess said it'll be about 10 minutes so I decide dto wait inside. Since I got a baked potato, she gave me a small box to load up with toppings. So I walked to where she gestured, bypassing mounds of fried chicken, roast and shit tons of sides. Everything looked fresh and delicious! My mouth was watering and I was wondering if I had made the wrong choice. I love mac and cheese and theirs looked really gooey and cheesy. Their greens looked fresh and tender. Every table I passed up had plates piled high with buffet food and satisfied grins. My stomach rumbled its disapproval. When the hostess came back, I asked what were her favorite things on the menu. Sirloin tips and fried chicken breast. Said she was eating those for weeks. Plain, nothing on them. Just the meat. Best food in the city. I told her that the fried chicken looked amazing and smelled like the Promise Land! Made me regret getting the steak. She gave me a box and told me to grab a piece! Gave her a big hug then promptly grabbed a piece with a huge grin on my face. Soon after, my sirloin arrived with butter and sour cream already in the bag. Utensils were there too. Sirloin was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Potato was HUGE and very hot. Texas toast was perfection. And that fried chicken breast was better than advertised! Her story and the smells didn't do it justice! Like the steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My stomach finally settled down with contentment. Absolutely no complaints about that meal or the place. In fact, might have to find an excuse to go back to Opelika to get some cheap steaks and fried chicken! And with great service!

Talked me into the steak while the rest of the party had the buffet. Neither was enough to make us want to head back, but it was our first time here.

THE RIGHT SPOT AT THE RIGHT TIME! During part I of our vacation drove from New Orleans to North Carolina. I originally pulled into a restaurant across the street and the sight of it turned my empty stomach. I looked over my shoulder and saw a busy parking lot and a smoker going strong. We walked in and the smells and list of specials had all the right juices flowing again. 3 of us were thrilled with everything we ordered. I had a 1lb Rib Eye which included large baked potato, salad bar and desert (if I would have had room) for under $20. All to food was cooked perfect to order. The Hostess was sweet, but, our waitress seemed to be off her game. Definitely would run back if I could. AWESOME FOOD! GREAT PRICE! Oh yah, I lived near a Western Sizzlin in VA and it was never as good as this.

After getting lost, fate led us to this gem located across the street from the Grub Mart and Budget Inn. I'll start with the decor, which looks like it was done by my grandmother's interior designer except there wasn't a couch with plastic wrap anywhere to be seen. The layout in the restaurant was confusing at first but after the meal you realize that the reason the team over at the western sizzlin walks you around the buffet 3 times before you sit down is to let you opt out of any bad choices you're about to make. As for the food on the "seafood" buffet, I can't give it a fair rating because the day I was there they ran out of everything good and improvised whatever the Grub Mart across the street threw out. The highlights for the meal is when I found the hot sauce and used it to cover the taste. When it came time for dessert, I was told they ran out of the Tiramisu, Creme Brulee and the Chocolate ganache cake but had gummy cats with bow ties instead of those real gummy bears that no one likes anyway.

Do not bother. The steak was so salty, the chicken on the buffet must have cooked for hours it was so dry. The only thing good was the can corn and mashed potatoes. Do not stop just drive by.
