Have been twice now, both times with my 12 year old seafood lover. The onion rings are delicious-- so good that they are often snaked off my plate by the kid before I can get more than 2 in my mouth. He loves the flounder. The first time he got the cajun spiced, and it was a little spicy for him. The second time they did more of a tempura batter, and it was light and not greasy. The best thing about Seafood bistro is that it is run by a husband and wife that really want to please, and go out of their way to make sure that you are happy with the food. If I could have one with, I would swap the crinkle cut fries out for something tastier-- maybe a seasoned fry of some sort, or handcut fries. Haven't tried the boil baskets yet, but they look delicious. Oh and get the groupon-- makes Seafood bistro a great deal!

My daughter and I came in after seeing the favorable reviews on YELP. Well they are so right!! The food portions are so generous we could not finish. The bread on the poboys is perfect: flaky and crunchy on the inside and chewy and soft on the inside. My daughter had the gator and I had the crawfish tails. It comes with a spicy sauce that is delicious. This was definitely, hands down, the best poboy I have ever eaten. Also they have at least half their menu with non-fried items. I can't wait to try the mahi mahi next time!

Great food, great price. Be a little patient because everything is cooked to order. Tried the oyster po boy and the oysters melted in your mouth. Very generous portions. I will be back.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Almost left based on the appearance as it's connected to a gas station. Glad we didn't leave. We ordered the gumbo and shrimp fried rice. The gumbo was spicy with plenty of seafood and the shrimp fried rice was a large serving with more than one baby shrimp per spoonful. The owner came out to make sure we were satisfied. The taste far exceeded my expectations and we will eat here a few more times during our business trip.

Tried it and liked it a lot. I had the grouper and it was so big I couldn't eat it all. Had a very good flavor and inexpensive. Nice to see a young couple start a small business like this. The owner came out and visited with us for a minute and made sure everything was good.

Joint is part of a gas station. Everything we ate seamed to be fried in the same heavy salted and pepper batter listed as Cajun. I would not recommend eating here.

I stopped in last week and tried a nice, simple shrimp po boy. I figure if they can't get that right, then I'm certainly not interested in trying the alligator. Anyway, turns out the fears I had about the Capitol City's newest gas station-based seafood purveyor were COMPLETELY unfounded! This po boy, y'all, was devastating. We're talking a work on the scale of "Moby Dick" here. The bread was crusty and chewy and perfectly toasted, the shrimp were absolutely delectable, and the house-made remoulade on top of the thing was a work of art. Speaking of those shrimp, let's talk about them for a minute. They were so perfectly prepared and so flavorful that I am left with no other choice than to believe that the owners of Seafood Bistro have somehow managed to find a way to fry their products in the tears of angels. Seriously, y'all. Stunning. Don't believe that you can get that much sandwich from the left hand side of a gas station for less than $10? That's cool. Get on down there and give it a whirl for yourself. Trust me when I tell you that, unless your Cajun grandma lives in your guest bedroom, there's no way you're going to do better between here and the coast.

Really good gator po boy. Bread is so fresh! Crunchy on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. Onions rings are awesome too!

We were visiting in Montgomery and We decided to give it a try based on the other yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. The boiled basket was delicious as was the sauce on the shrimp po-boy. The owner came out and greeted us and checked on the food quality. Seafood Bistro was quite a nice surprise!

Those voodoo balles are magic! Tasty, crispy, spicy and served screaming hot with a creamy dip. A definite must try. Whether you are craving Cajun or Creole, save yourself the long drive to LA and eat here. We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. It was busy but not crowded. About half of the orders were to go. So even if the parking lot is busy, there may still be tables available. Don't let the location put you off. Even though it's in a gas station this restaurant will fill you up! Our food was served quickly and everything was piping hot. We tried the egg roll. A unique Cajun flavored treat. The shrimp roll was a Cajun spiced shrimp wrapped in a strip of spring roll wrapper and perfectly fried. Very tasty. My husband tried the red beans and rice and declared them to be the best he's ever eaten. He also sampled the gumbo. Creamy and full of all things gumbo. The oyster po'boy was a work of gastronomic art! A chewy baguette stuffed with little crunchy oysters, lettuce and their house made spicy sauce. As an added touch, the French baguette was crisped on the outside on the flat top. Delicious! We had to stop there because the portions are so generous but we will definitely be back. This meal was my idea of the perfect Louisiana purchase!

The first time I went to this place I told the owner, after he asked, that his breading was too heavy. "I agree," he said. "It's a training issue." That was ten months ago. This is a piece of breading, err, I mean perch from a plate I ordered recently. There's more breading than fish! Very disappointing.

I enjoyed my fried crab claw platter. It was hot and well seasoned. I have previously eaten the gumbo and was pleased with the flavors and amount of food. I left satisfied. The only con is that it was a little pricey! I will be back!

I wasn't sure of what to expect since the place is inside a gas station but I've been wanting to try it. I got the clam and shrimp boil .. It wasn't bad but it's not fresh. The shrimp was definitely previously frozen (I asked the cashier as well) and that definitely takes away from the flavor. The clams were decent but they were little necks so they were tiny. I wouldn't pay the full $23.99 for this meal so luckily the $8 Groupon was available. I understand this isn't a seafood area but the cost vs. what you're paying for doesn't add up, unless you're in dire need of some seafood.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in town. Very fresh seafood, mostly fried, but cooked to order and never greasy. Yeah it's in a gas station, but you won't notice the lack of ambiance with your eyes glued to a po boy overflowing with shrimp, oysters, crawfish or gator. Best po boys in town and the bread is delicious!

I went here wanting to get some good cajun food/seafood while in Montgomery for work. It was close to the hotel and had good reviews so I figured, why not?! Well, I should have known it was a little different than I expected when I first arrived. The restaurant has little curb appeal and doesn't really try to make the customer feel like they're about to enjoy their dining experience. It's the other half of a convenience store/gas station building complete with run-down old tables and fluorescent lighting. I walked up to the counter and the cashier (maybe the owner) was nice enough. I wanted a non-fried option for dinner and asked him if they have any po-boys which aren't fried. I had seen on Facebook where they did a blackened shrimp po-boy just a few days prior so I was hoping he would respond that it was available. He said that they could do a blackened grouper, which sounded just fine by me! I love grouper and really enjoy blackened fishes in general. This one was disappointing, to say the least. They didn't really have any good options of hot sauce or anything else to change the flavor, either. The only hot sauce they have is a "house recipe" hot sauce right next to the ketchup (kinda looks like ketchup). The tartar sauce is sitting outside in the open which was disconcerting as well. As for the sandwich itself, it came out looking okay and had a decent crusty bread on it. The fish, however, was terrible. It tasted like it had been frozen forever and just left over on the side to thaw all day, roughly blackened, then thrown on a sandwich. It wasn't fresh at all and had an off-putting fishy smell that I couldn't get past. The lack of ambiance and sauce options could be easily forgiven if the food was passable but it just wasn't. Pros: The red beans & rice that I had as a side for my po-boy were good. If I ever had to go through here again, I would just get red beans & rice or one of their fried options. Cons: Based on my experience, they don't do non-fried fish options well at all. The grouper tasted old and "fishy" and didn't have any redeeming sauces or flavors to make up for it. I was really disappointed in the food based on the other Yelp reviews and won't be back, unfortunately. Overall: I really wanted to like this place but the ambiance and terrible food (except for the red beans & rice) made it a dining experience I'd rather forget.

The food looks better than it tastes. I was really looking forward to seafood this weekend, but was disappointed with the lack of seasoning and over breaded food. We tried the shrimp, okra, crab claws (overcooked: dried out and shriveled), catfish, French fries and rice and beans. We don't be back. Oh, if you purchase a Groupon, you may use if for DINE IN ONLY!!! I quickly got a refund from Groupon, not that the counter person that took my order was very helpful. While we were waiting for our takeout order another customer had a Groupon. He was told to eat some of the food then they would give him a to go box. Not sure the reason behind the DINE IN ONLY Groupon, the place is in a gas station and has less than 10 tables. It would be nice if the manager would rethink the Dine In only Groupon. To be fair, there was a sign posted about coupons being for Dine In only, which I clarified with the counter person before ordering so I didn't have to pretend to eat from a basket and them ask for a to go box. I think that's poor customer service.
