Wow this place is great, they were so nice the sushi I had was great, it was made fresh unlike some places, already rolled and it's been sitting there for a few hours. Definitely a place to go back. And the price is very good

Came here for sushi lunch - prices are good, but the sushi is "meh". Spend a little more and head to Miyako or Sushi Cafe instead.

I have eaten sushi from Atlanta to California. This is the best Sushi I have ever had!!! Try the Ninja rolls!

Okay so I would give this a 3.5 stars if I could. I almost want to bump it up to a 4-star just because we're talking about Japanese food in Montgomery, AL. I just can't though. After craving some Japanese food my fiance and I found our way here via Yelp (Thanks!) The sushi list was pretty extensive. The menu overall was nice and also includes some korean dishes... hmm.. Okay, anyway the Bibimbap wasn't bad though. Though the sauce that came with it tasted underwhelming. We had the "Volcano" sushi which was a baked roll. Came out tasty enough. The sushi-chefs looked young! It was worth the trip. Plus everybody that worked there seemed very approachable and attentive. Worth going back again :)

We were quite surprised to find this place with three occupied tables on a Tuesday night. That was a good sign. We ordered a variety of food: sushi, sukiyaki, yakisoba. So we got a taste of the sushi bar as well as the kitchen. Overall, the sushi was fresh and the kitchen food was tasty and filling since they gave us extra fried rice with the sukiyaki (on the house). My father-in-law's biggest complaint when we go out for Japanese is that the food doesn't fill him up. Not here. Also, our waitress was very sweet.

If you're craving specialty maki rolls or Japanese food, this is definitely a place to dine at. The sashimi is fresh and there is a wide selection of sushi. Katsu-don is pretty good as well. Price is reasonable. I would visit this restaurant the next time I'm in town.

I agree with another review that the sushi here is at least tied with Kabuki for best in Montgomery. Very fresh, and the chef offered us a delicious salmon amuse-bouche after we finished the rolls we'd ordered. The service is also extreme friendly. Unfortunately, the teriyaki stir-fry was a disappointment, and probably the worst I've had anywhere in town -- super-greasy ball of fried rice reminiscent of cheap Chinese takeout, and vegetables that looked like they'd been dumped out of a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and then boiled for an hour. Rather than the big, blanched pieces of broccoli and cauliflower you typically get with this kind of meal, there were tiny diced-up wilted pieces of broccoli, carrots, and green bell peppers (?). No water chestnuts, onions, mushrooms, bok choy, ginger, snap peas, or anything else to add a little interest. Also over-sauced and consequently very salty. So, stick to the sushi.

This sushi hit a home run. First time I find a great sushi / Japanese restaurant with quality food at a good price. We went on a Tuesday 1.99 beer, half off sake, also buy a roll get one half off. I ate like a king...Started out with a spicy salad which had a delicious spicy salad dressing. Salmon roll n had the chef decide on a special roll, both where great. Not only are the prices great but the staff is friendly, and attentive. Next time I go will need to try there dinners.

I've eaten here several times, but it seems to fall off my memory bank from time to time because the location isn't exactly prominent. However, everything from the bento boxes, to the udon bowls to the sushi is always top notch. Today I had the seafood Udon bowl and seafood salad. 9/10 stars each. Fast service and very good prices. Recommended.

Sushi is good. They seem to specialize in special rolls, most with sauces and some cooked. Good place for introducing someone to sushi, but a seasoned vet will probably not be impressed. Don't get me wrong, the fish is fresh, but there's nothing special here and they don't seem to know some traditional sushi items. I asked for tobiko with quail egg and the waiter had NO idea what I was talking about and had to ask the chef. He looked at me like I was nuts and said they didn't have quail eggs. Oh well. Service is hit and miss. First time the waiter was very green and didn't know sushi very well at all. He knows the menu, but doesn't know sushi if you just order what you like off the top of your head and it isn't one of their rolls. Second time, the girl we got was much more informed and very pleasant. I'd go again, because I am intro'ing someone else to sushi and this seems to be the best place without heading downtown to Wasabi.

Katsudon was good but the rice was little blend. I want to try another different don next time.

Stopped here for take out sushi with my daughter. Questions answered, we got amazing rolls. Would definitely go there again. Great flavor, just the right heat.

Rolls and bento boxes are very good. The bulgogi is my favorite, my wife loves their salmon, and my daughters really like the yakisoba and gyoza. The service is hit or miss in terms of wait time, but the staff is always friendly. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is very comfortable.

Me and the little lady decided to give it a try for her birthday. Sake selection was limited but acceptable but they didn't have what she wanted so we tried a different sake. Was good but not the unfiltered type she usually likes. The hot sake was good as well. The sushi rolls we got were all good and they even brought around extra sample pieces of random rolls to us and other diners. Sashimi was bit disappointing. Probably only bad part of the meal. The tuna had a grainy texture. Id go back here again but we might just end up sticking with sushi café.

Nude kimono ! I asked for no rice roll and here it is ! 5 assorted Fisk inside with cucumber and avocado. I love the texture of fresh fish and of course taste too ! I can stuff myself up with this everyday And not worrying about getting fat ! I always love their lettuce wrap as well.

We stopped here on the way through for lunch. I ordered the chicken teriyaki Bento box and my partner ordered the beef bulgogi. Upon arriving we were pointed to a table, it was a rather terse welcome. After taking our order, my partner received a salad with seven leaves, which was a bit sparse. My salad consisted of a fair amount of stumps and less edible bits. My partner's bulgogi arrived about 5 minutes before my chicken teriyaki. The meal was hot and well seasoned. Although my Bento box contained four pieces of sushi there was no ginger or wasabi accompanying. The chicken was a little dry and burned on one corner. I ordered water to drink and it was a bit earthy in flavor. I had hoped for more from a place with such a good Yelp rating. All in all the food wasn't bad but I think I'll look for another place the next time I'm in Montgomery from lunch.

Enjoy the environment and service at this quaint little sushi place. It is in a great area and the food is delicious. The 911 roll is delicious and it's not half bad when you add a second selection to your order for 50% off. I usually takeout but the one time I have dined in the staff was exceptionally nice. The chef sent over a "special roll" which was a nice gesture. Definitely my go to right down the road!!

great lunch specials ! sushi was on point, I had got the 2 rolls for $9.99 and a beef bento box with fried rice . the rice was so bland and there was entirely wayy too much teriyaki sauce on the meat and veggies . my waiter sucked, we had to ask for silverware, chopsticks, refills and even ginger ( since they didn't put any on the plate for me) but what got me upset was that he forgot to ring up my appetizer . this place isn't what it used to be, maybe new management ? Definitely in my SoSo category now . horrible service but food was good .

Bar none: the best sushi in Montgomery. I've eaten there at least 40 times having lived in Montgomery for a year, as well as at several other sushi competitors' restaurants in the area. What I Like about Satsuki: 1. All rolls have GENEROUS amounts of FRESH meat on them. None of the tasteless micro-slivers of fish that others like Lek's Railroad Thai or others use. On the same note, the rolls are a great value and competitively priced compared to what you would get elsewhere. 2. Satsuki offers a brown rice option for the rolls if you are watching glycemic index 3. Satsuki has second roll half off options at certain times 4. Satsuki's service is always friendly and outstanding, 100% of the time 5. All of Satsuki's rolls, including classics such as the rainbow roll and spicy rolls are all excellent, but here are a few of their specialty rolls that I recommend: salmon lover roll, Florida roll, and the white village roll. 6. Satsuki Sushi has really good operating hours, and I have never once caught them not abiding by them, unlike other restaurants in the area that inconveniently close an hour or two early and don't tell you that when you call to verify hours or don't operate according to the hours on their websites. 7. Satsuki Sushi also takes carry out orders, and they are very fast and reliable. If you can't tell, I really like this place. I wish I had a place like this at my doorstep.

Going for the second time tonight. My husband and I went a few weeks ago and they were very polite. They did not have Splenda (only real sugar) but without me asking they went to the convenience store next door and got a box of Splenda for me. I felt quite diva-ish and it wasn't necessary but it was a seriously nice gesture. We really enjoyed the food and the service.

Great restaurant. Always friendly service and food is great too. Normally they have buy 1 get 1 50% off sushi. Sometimes they will give you a freebie sushi. Sushi is great and their Korean food is excellent

I come here many times with friends to enjoy their buy 1 get one 50% off rolls, half off sake and reduced price beers. $20 later I am buzzed and stuffed. The service is excellent and they are extremely friendly. The restaurant is small so if you're coming with a big party, please RSVP.
