This place is a classic go-to for good Mexican for lunch or dinner. I come here often with friends and I've always had a good experience. It's a great environment and the staff is always polite and friendly. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it's better than the usual Mexican restaurant. I'll keep coming back!

Went there for dinner with a small group of friends. The restaurant is clean and comfortable but was pretty noisy, our waiter had a tough time hearing us. The service was good and we got our drinks, chips and salsa fairly rapidly. I ordered a steak fajita quesadilla with a side of rice and beans. The quesadilla was pretty good but soggy on the bottom as if it had been sitting for a while. The price was very fair, coming to $16 (my rice and beans didn't come with the meal, another complaint). Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my trip to La Zona Rosa and would go back in the future if I lived in Montgomery. The food and service was pretty good and the prices are fair.

Always good. Went last night and had the lime chicken tacos and they were amazing. There cheese dip is to die for.

Great place. Great prices. I don't even like Mexican but I do like this place. Try the Baja Tacos.

Good place to sit down and enjoy the evening. Food is not extraordinary but it is solid Mexican fare. Never had a problem with service....even with larger groups.

Busy restaurant at lunch and dinner. This place is always packed. The good thing about this though is the service is really quick. Happy hour is great here. 4-7 is $2 big draft beers (Dos Equis amber and lager along with your normal " 'Merica beer". $2 margaritas. Get the mariachi dip (salsa verde and avacado).

I come to this place on ocassions. There are definately better Mexican restaurants than this place like El Cantaro Taqueria on the other side of the Interstate. I only come here on lunch hrs 'cause it's cheaper and my favorite dish is Mexican Paella.

Awesome mexican food in the Montgomery area, I recommend getting a pitcher of Margaritas, unlike a lot of places they don't have that silly cooling chamber inside the pitcher and instead you just get a FULL pitcher of Margarita.

ok so la zona rose aint' that great but come on people... you live in a culinary mecca and you come to AL expecting homemade tortillas? that said there are some really good mexican places in Montgomery, especially considering they are, in Montomgery. Tacos El Cantaro and Taqueria Esperanza are two that come to mind....

Great family-friendly place! We stopped in while traveling. Not far off the highway. Yummy food, fast & friendly service. They even made a special item for my young son who is a picky eater. There is a large kids menu of Mexican & American dishes. We had: chorizo dip, cheese quesadilla, pupusa, ground beef/beef burrito, steak/chicken fajitas. Prices were good. Service was attentive but not hovering. We were out in under an hour. Very clean. Not too noisy. TV in dining room and in bar. Also some outside seating. Did not feel like a strip mall restaurant. Will come again if in the area!

Really good food. Huuuuuge margaritas and they're strong. Slightly expensive. All people in my part of 9 loved the food and drinks. With such a large party, they got us in right away and the waiter did a great job with all of our orders. We will be back!

What can I say, I love this place. If you're looking for delicious Mexican food that is authentic and well priced, with cheerful service and good margaritas to boot, look no further.

Great food! Great staff! Overall great experience. We will definitely go back for seconds. We sat outside - great relaxing view overseeing the parking lot. Good time to people watch as you wait for your food. We ate the "pupusas" a salvadorian tortilla filled with cheese and beans, yum!! We definitely recommend La Zona Rosa.

I enjoy this place for a quick and flavorful lunch. They have a good combination lunch menu where you can choose 2 or 3 items from a list for a flat cost. I have ordered most items on the menu, but my favorite are the fried sweet plantains. They fill up quickly for lunch, so I'd suggest getting here early.

We were very pleased with this mexican restaurant. Salsa was good, albeit slightly on the mild side. Queso app was delicious. Chips are avg to slightly above avg. I got the burrito, enchilada, taco combo and everything tasted great. Wait staff was very attentive and courteous. We are very happy to have a really good Mexican restaurant close to home. Ambiance is pleasant with ample seating inside and out.

A good place to get cheap food and drinks. They also have a pretty nice terrace which makes it awesome to sit outside during happy hour with a margarita. Overall the good isn't amazing, but I did really love the steak burrito I got there. The staff is nice and helpful. Overall, I recommend this place! Good food for the price.

It's not authentic Mexican food if that's really what you're looking for. However, if you want a taste you might be used to from all the other Mexican places around this state then it's a win. I'm boring, so I always get the same things and have as of yet to be disappointed. I've gone in work groups more times than I have gone with just one other person and the service doesn't really change. If you just want a quick, cheap lunch then by all means try it. Everyone has their 'favorite' Mexican place. This one isn't mine, but I don't have anything bad to say either.

This place is not authentic Mexican but it isn't bad for Montgomery. The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings. The atmosphere is better than expected. When you first sit down, the waitress will bring by some chips and salsa which both taste freshly made. The portions are quite hefty for the prices, so if you are looking for some bang on your buck, this place is for you. Overall, this place is okay.

This place was horrible on about every account. We went based on the testimonials of the friend we were visiting about how this was a great place for cheap eats. The waitress couldn't wait to be anywhere else than there. We had been seated and before she even took our drink orders she informed us that "we had better hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing soon". Well ok, thankfully we'd had plenty of time to look over the menu because she took her sweet time getting to the table. My margarita was mostly margarita mix, very little tequila. Too bad too, if they'd sauced me up a bit more this place might be getting a 4. The enchiladas were pretty tasteless and I asked for corn tortillas and got store-bought flour. I didn't feel like arguing and sending them back. Maybe it was just a really bad night, but I kind of doubt it. Not sure what I was thinking expecting decent Mexican food in Montgomery of all places.

the negative reviews are from a few years back...so i wouldnt waste your time reading them. i LOVE LZR! the carnitas are awesome and the waitstaff is very friendly and attentive.

Their tag line is "authentic Mexian Food" bu I don't think you're supposed to use margerine to saut onions. YUK! First of all when we came in the woman who ended being our server turned to her boss and looked at him to see if he wanted to seat us. It was 8:58 PM and the door states on weekends they close a 9:30 PM. We did end up being the last table this saturday evening. My friends who were local loved their food but had to take one of the plates back because it was cold. No one finished their margarita. My DH ended up with stomach troubles. Me, I just didn't like my carne asada. I'm not recommending this place.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
