I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor and quality of this establishment. The service was decent and I really enjoyed the side sauces that came with the crispy lentil crackers. The thing that annoyed me was that when I asked how spicy I wanted my food the server told me that's not what I was going to get. He automatically told me that was going to be too hot for me and told me he wasn't going to make it spicy for me. Whhhhhhat??? During the meal he assumed that it was very hot to me until I asked for more heat..... I would like to come back and try the buffet.

We had a great experience here, fresh and flavorful tasting food. The service was kind and attentive. We got two chicken dishes and the cheese naan. Would come again!

This is a fairly typical strip mall setup with plentiful parking. The interior is quiet and comfortable, neither shabby nor fancy. I went for the lunch buffet and it was good but I was a little surprised by a few things. First, the good: the pakora are lovely. Perfectly fried and with greens as well as onions. There were four vegetarian curries, rice, naan, and various sauces, raita, and kheer. Second, the bad: there was no dal, no papadams, and the only biryani had chicken. Third, the surprising: there were a lot of chicken dishes. I'm used to Indian places that aren't all vegetarian and vegan, but this was a lot of chicken. Maybe I'm not used to what to expect in Alabama? Likely. In conclusion, this is a totally decent but not mind-blowing place if you need a vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or no soy meal.

I went here wanting to try somethng different. I have had indian food in the past, but it had been a couple years since I had it in Montgomery. I am glad I made the decision to eat here. For starters I had the appetizer sampler which consisted of Samosa, Pakora and Chicken Tikka. I had the Lamb Vindaloo for my entree. I was too stuffed for dessert. I will definitely be back to eat here again.

Best Indian food in town. They have a wonderful lunch buffet with a lot of variety that is great for a newcomer to the cuisine to try. It's also wonderful for those of us who love Indian food. They have great, friendly service and are reasonably priced. It's not easy to get quality international cuisine in Montgomery but India Palace would be a quality restaurant in any location.

This is one of the best meals you can have in Montgomery, both in taste and nutrition. The customer service is top notch. They even make a special dish to help boost your immune system when you get sick

Stopped by last night on a whim and have now found my GO-TO Indian restaurant in Montgomery. Both the food and the service were excellent. My spouse and I ordered the Chicken Makhani and Dal (?) with regular nan. We are happy to have been offered a spice spectrum from 1( not spicy) to 10 (spicy). As lovers of spicy food, we opted for 7, which was perfect for us - somewhat intense but not overwhelming. The owner came out to greet us and noted that we like spicy food, which was particularly kind. The food was fresh, hot (temperature and spice), and the portion sizes were spot on. We were full when we left and ate about half of what we were served. I've rarely been so excited about leftovers. Highly recommended.

This new spot in town was a selection for Mother's Day lunch. The staff is accommodating and and welcoming. They take reservations, so I called the day before just to ensure there was a table for my family when we were ready for lunch. The buffet is your traditional indian buffet, but when the food is that good you do not need to do anything fancy IMO - Selection of curries with different meats, white rice, yellow rice, vegetables, and of course naan. Maybe after some good business they can pick up with the decor in time. Nonetheless, very good food!

Indian buffet is hard to beat in my book. Especially since in Florida, I have to drive an hour to find one. Montgomery, you lucky dog you. Blessed with two good Indian buffets. I have to say that India Palace is better than Taste of India. Their food tastes fresh, love the naan and the veg curry. Good service, good selection, and at around $10, you've got yourself a fan in the Meow Bird.

Montgomery, give thanks for such an offering. I've had Indian food in many places here and abroad...and none were better than here. The measure must be the authenticity of the condiments...chutneys, pickles, dressings....the quality of the basmati rice, the use of ghee and not just butter, and the naan....India Palace nails them all and offers an exceptional curried goat on the buffet which is cost-generous for them as goat is expensive. The naan is served in small amounts so that it's always hot...and AND it's cooked in a tandoori oven. The host will always greet you warmly and often recalls details about you that surely show that customers matter here. Please support them because we need more local establishments who are oriented on QUALITY AND SERVICE. Well done and long life, India Palace.

So gooooood!! If you like spices and flavor this is the place to go. Staff is very helpful explaining their dishes if you've never had Indian and they also have a spicy range (1 to 10) so you can choose how intense you want it.

Though I no longer live in Montgomery I missed India Palace so much that I had to go there 3 times during my holiday visit. We went twice in one day. I love this restaurant and you will too

Solid Indian spot. We were lucky to find this spot a short walk from our hotel and open till 9:30. The food was very authentic and the waitstaff was friendly and nice. They were able to accommodate with my vegan requests and the food was properly spicy!! Aloo Gobi (potato cauliflower dish) was on point. Great find in Montgomery!

I've had Indian good all over the world and can you believe this is the best I've had??!! Right here in Montgomery Alabama? The portions are large and the variety you would expect as well. The staff is extremely friendly and will answer any questions. The staff is also very attentive...for example my drink was never empty as they filled it constantly. Great atmosphere and very clean. If you've never had Indian food, this is a place to come try it out. You'll be a regular like my family and I after you have their food.

Food is definitely good. The prices are a bit inconsistent for entrees given the portion served. Very good overall.

The lunch buffet here has a little of everything I love about Indian food. My favorite, the palak paneer, is spicy and creamy and delicious.

Yes! They are back, and better than ever. This is a great restaurant. If you have any interest in Indian food and live in or are passing through Montgomery, AL, you must try it. All of the dishes are very good. The breads are great, and the service is friendly and attentive. However, the reason I give it 5 stars is because of the India Palace's version of an appetizer called Samosa Chat. It is a 5 star restaurant quality dish. It is an incredibly savory blend of spice, tamarind, mint sauce, yogurt, pastry, and chick peas. Friday night's version was beautifully presented and piping hot. In all sincerity, this one dish is worth the visit to the restaurant. A trip to the India Palace is an experience which will transport you from the Deep South to an exotic land of delicious food and music. Bubba, for one night, become a Bubbah. It is conveniently located at Vaughn Road and the Eastern Blvd., yet still a bit hard to find. Tell Amen and Chris that Frank says hello.

I love trying new cuisines and my first time trying Indian food was at the Indian Palace. It came highly recommended from my coworkers and it did not disappoint. The staff went above and beyond explaining the dishes, spice levels, and answering my seemingly endless questions. That being said, the food exceeded my expectations. The meat was well seasoned/cooked, the rice was cooked perfectly (they kept it coming), and the naan was the perfect companion to every dish-light and savory. Everything about this restaurant is a winner for me. I've been back several times since my original visit and everything I've tried has been simply amazing. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is commendable, and the food is delightful. Ps. My favorite (so far) had been the lamb kadai with the garlic naan :) #nomnomnom

Great Indian food! You can't go wrong at the India Palace. The staff is extremely helpful and makes great recommendations. If you're new to Indian food or can't decide what to get, they can suggest some fantastic dishes like the chicken afghani. The rice is flavorful and the nan is perfectly executed.

First time here. Clean and great fresh food. Nice staff. Keep up the fresh food and clean restaurant and you will continue to have customers. Only thing I didn't see on the menu that I love was - butter chicken.
