The food here has been okay every time I've ever been. A little pricey for what you get, but at least the serving size is pretty hefty. Still a good place to stop by for some enchiladas and chips and salsa.

YUCK. This place has gone downhill and they just dont care. The food is mediocre and the service is awful. The servers dont like to be bothered and they make no effort to make your experience a good one. I will never step foot in that place again. It also needs a good scrub down.

Stopped in on our way back home with 8 folks. Margaritas didn't taste like they had any tequila in them. Taco salad just ok. Nothing to write home about. Wouldn't return even if we lived close by.

I ended up giving Los Rancheros a second, and third try. Food and service had improved since my last visit. Not the best Mexican Food in Mobile, but good enough for a return visit. Hopefully they'll continue in the right track.

Not quite sure why I even bother spending a cent here. Terrible service and food. Margaritas during happy hour taste like sprite. Food was cold.

We used to come here with our parents a lot as kids. I went this past Sunday. It was HORRIBLE. The "fajita quesadilla" hardly had any meat in it. The veggies inside the quesadilla were burned, so it tasted burned. I'm not sure what happened to Los Rancheros. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before going back... Stick to La Cocina! and the service..... really bad. our waiter couldn't have cared less!

I hate that the food is just that amazing because I keep going back regardless of the extremely crappy service. I don't even done in often but just the phone manners are awful. And it would be nice if every time I ordered this wonderful food (the fajitas are to die for) they always forget SOMETHING out of my order. Please step it up.

I've been here 3 times in the last 3 months. I hope I finally remember to not come back. The food is mediocre, and the service is horrible. The hostess couldn't care less and the waiters can't be bothered to do their jobs. Pitiful. Here is a pic of a waitress sitting with some random dude, ignoring her tables.

This restaurant must have improved over the past few years. Old reviews are very negative. Better than average Mexican food. Large portions, fresh salsa, friendly staff. The place was packed when I went. It must not be THAT bad! Reasonable prices and near the interstate too. Exit #3 on I65 South

I'm stunned to read the other reviews; I was there a few months ago and it was good. Mobile was the stop of a 9 hour road trip, and we just happened to drive by this place. I'm not an expert on mexican food, but everything was tasty. I had chicken flautas and my boyfriend had the chimichanga. No complains or belly ache; we are in Texas now and we haven't found a place that's better than this. The service was good, and the prices even better; we couldn't believe the bill was $27 with tip included.

Oh please don't do it to yourself. I loved this place many years ago. However I went in recently and wondered how it was still there. The three of us after one bite paid for our meal and just left to go find some real food. It was so bad I dont know where to begin. Just worst excuse for mexican food I have ever seen.

I wouldnt expect an amazing experience here, but if you are hungry and crave nachos, its fine. I found a rock in my beans, they told me "sometimes there's rocks in the beans." I have never had that happen before. Don't order the guacamole. The margaritas are strong, which helps.

Salt, salt and more salt. If you like really salty food, like salty rice and salty beans, this is your place. I'll pass. Plenty of better places in the strip mall. Go to Cuisine of India instead.

This place is edible, and that's about it. Waiter asked about our drink order, and gave us a blank look when we tried to order horchata... A Mexican restaurant with no clue what horchata is...

Don't eat the food here. Be afraid. Be very afraid. I love good Mexican food so I have no desire to return here. I give this place one star only because I don't have a 0 star option.

Coming from Texas I loveeee Mexican food but this place disappointed me. My fajitas tasted like it had been drenched in BBQ sauce nothing close to how it should have tasted...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
