I had seen all the previous reviews of this place and was very skeptical, but turns out this lil hole in the wall turned out to be very good. Service and all!! First off, the service was excellent! Our server was great! He was very attentive, gave us good recommendations for sushi and even kept up conversation with us during our meal. I would say that when I come back to Mobile, I will definitely come try this place again.

Faux Hipster Scam Alert. The Rice is bland. The rolls are overly complicated to dress over the mediocre quality of the food. At one time you could at least go for the nice decor and ambience, but the new design is terrible. It looks like they painted the walls in Imodium AD. Also, during Mardi Gras, they charge for their private club membership card.

Liquid is a case of a restaurant too busy trying to be cool to bother with inconvenience of properly prepared and served food. If you have dined at a "real" sushi bar then Liquid is going to be a disappointment, if you have not, or are looking for a pasteurized beatnik experience you may enjoy yourself. It's a shame that with the abundance of fresh seafood in Mobile that no one seems capable of running a respectable sushi bar. On a happier note, the band was excellent the night I dined. This is a smoking restaurant... Dine at your own risk.

When I lived in Mobile, I ate here A LOT. Not so much for the sushi, but because of the cool atmosphere and the fun people. Often times there is live music playing, and they serve food until 2 am, so that's nice. The sushi is good, but it's not outstanding. They have some creative rolls, even though they are usually too big. Order a bottle of Fuki plum wine. It will make your meal happier.

I wasn't expecting to find sushi or even fusion sushi in downtown Mobile. I came here after the Order of the Mystics parade on Mardi Gras when my group was gunning for some sushi. My bf's brother suggested this place because they have great drinks. When we got there, I immediately liked the ambience with rich, red walls and good music. They have a great drink menu filled with yummy, sweet drinks like Heartthrob and a Filthy Martini. The drinks were really good. I liked my Heartthrob with its vodka and grapefruit. I heard that the Filthy Martini was especially briny and good. My bf's brother really liked the sake and mentioned that they serve some high quality brands. We ordered some sushi and pieces. The sushi was just okay. There were a few rolls that were close to traditional ones that I enjoyed. Some of the weirder rolls had the the seaweed slightly fried on the outside. My favorite roll was the Mexican inspired one with black beans and a spicy mayo topping. Probably my most favorite sushi dish was the 3 way tuna. It was a good mix of traditional and fusion. Overall, I liked Liquid Sushi but really would have hired a real sushi chef who can handle fusion. Otherwise, I will definitely go back for the drinks and the neat loungey feel.

Perhaps my favorite restaurant in Mobile. Super-cool ambience, inredibly delicious food, and great drinks. Unlike the other reviewers, I consistently find the sushi to be amazing. While not traditional in the slightest, it is always flavorful, fresh, and creative. I love the unique rolls with savory and sweet tastes. Their appetizers are also amazing...try the Spring Rolls. Once they had a tempura fried Avocado stuffed with cream cheese, crab, onions, and topped with spicy mayo. It was seriously the best thing I've ever eaten.

Cannot say I'm a fan. I want to like them, but they are just not quite there. They could be a great spot for a date night or meeting up with friends over sushi and drinks. Ambience is great. I like the atmosphere and the seating is comfortable. They are open/ serving late night. Awesome. This on its own gets a star for me. Price is not expensive, but for me they are overpriced for what you get. Menu is ok. They have some unique rolls in addition to the typical stuff. Service has been generally pretty bad. Alcoholic beverage selection is decent... not like amazing, but ok. Food, particularly their sushi, has been....unfortunately... bad. It's quite strange but multiple different people have told me horror stories regarding their hygiene practice. (which I really hope it's not true!!.... but... I will not be in any hurry to go back to Liquid.)

Great vibe, good drinks and best of all great sushi! Such a cool mix of sushi bar and ultra lounge. A great place to settle in, take your time, order a variety of sushi and make a night of it. Good for dates and for large groups.

Sitting here as I type this watching the 4 staff watch someone make sushi while our drinks are sitting on the pad getting warm. No idea if sushi is any good, but pretty sure out waiter is 3 IQ points shy of qualifying for disability.

The place has so much potential, it a cute hole in the wall with a nice atmosphere. But the service is absolutely terrible! We had a party of 6, the server only brought out 3 drinks. The rest of us waited for 30 mins for a glasses of water and the rest of our drinks. Then, when my party asked another waitress for help, she so was so rude and told us she was "too busy" and we need to wait on our server. I was so disgusted by they service, the food could not be enjoyed.

Hadn't been here in many many years, and decided to try it again. The sushi is imaginative, but just okay in my opinion. The rolls are still too formed big to make for a comfortable one-bite. Struggling to eat the food doesn't really enhance my experience. Miso soup was tasty but a little cold. Overall, service was meh (lots of people doing little work?) but the inside has a cool vibe. Do try the plum wine - it was sweet and tasty.

Sushi was good, the rolls were fresh and huge! We had a salmon roll a tuna roll and a speciaty roll. The place was trendy but cozy inside. Service was very good.

Ugh. This place. I don't get it. I really like the sushi a lot, but the service is just so abysmal. I've been twice and had two different servers and both times, they could not answer simple questions about the menu. And not only that, but they made it seem like I was asking THE IMPOSSIBLE of them. "What kind of white wines do you offer?" "Oh... I dont know......ehh, do you want me to ask?" After ordering tuna 3-ways... "Can you tell us which is which?". "I don't know...... [grabs plate to take it away] I'll ask." I mean come on, really? Learn your menu. It also takes forever to get your food. Both times we waited nearly an hour for an appetizer to appear. I gave it a second try, but sadly, I will not be returning.

I think its a very cool lounge, but the sushi was not good! I think the concepts of the sushi were perfect, but the sushi rice was NOT FLAVORED at all. Usually sushi rice is flavored with rice wine vinegar and sugar, so most of their rolls were like eating gobs of rice with toppings. I had this fried dessert roll with banana in the middle, thinking it would be delicious, but it turned out it was basically a banana wrapped with rice and seaweed then fried. It was a disaster!

We are just coming back home from an 8 month trip of the western states, with three months of that traveling down highway 101 and highway1 down the west coast. We found maybe three sushi joints that we would consider good down the coast. Liquid would rank in the top three of those bait shops we have found. The music was a little off the wall for a couple of old folks like we are, but the fish was fresh and the portions were large here. The strawberry desert that we had was off the chain......... I would certainly eat here again, although I would not eat here if were looking for something that resembled right out of Japan sushi.
