This place is just awful. I think the styrofoam our food came in had more flavor than the pathetic excuse for "chicken" and "steak". As another reviewer said, save yourself the money and go elsewhere. At least drive to Hoover and go to Yuki, Sumo, or Styx.

Went for a very fulfilling and value-priced lunch. Salad was fairly sized with good dressing. The soup was decent as well. The chicken hibachi lunch portion was just right along with the rice. The wait-staff and owners/managers are very friendly and check on you often. The only opportunity/issue might be that the food came out too fast to finish each course.

I left a 1 star only because I didn't get the option to not leave a star! THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE!!! The sushi was rubbery and extremely fishy like bad fish fishy!!! $40 for 4 sushi rolls that tasted worse than buffet sushi or Publix prepackaged sushi is redicilous. My husband has also eaten here before and said the hibachi was very small proportions and not that good. We will never spend another dime at this place. It was awful..... Drive another 10 minutes to Hoover and have some really good sushi!!!!!!

Came on the second night of the location being open. Wasn't sure what to think with sushi and hibachi in McCalla but we were pleasantly surprised! Ginger salad and miso soup were nothing different but exactly on par with what you would get at Stix or another similar restaurant. The hibachi dinner with chicken was excellent though. Very well done and very inexpensive. Not really enough to share without something else to go with it but very affordable for the food and it tasted great! We also got sushi and that was the only thing that wasn't amazing. Spicy crawfish was solid but the California and Tampa rolls were only ok. Not rolled super tight and kind of fell apart plus they were backed up and it took awhile to get the rolls. Finally, the service was great. Everyone was very friendly. Definitely a solid for McCalla and we'll be back!

My friend suggested this place, it was really good! My steak was perfect, rice and vegetables were good, the soup and salad was also good! I tasted her New York roll and it was good as well. Will definitely be back:) Great addition to this part of town!

We've been here several times and have always had a great experience. The hibatchi dinners are excellent and good portion sizes. Servers are always really friendly. Several times they have made balloon animals for the little kids, which our kids love. Glad to have another great restaurant on this side of town.

Great sushi, awesome staff, fast service, and priced right. By myself or with my family lunch or dinner this is a regular spot for us. Just wish it had more seating.

This place was great. Although it's small this place had a big impact. The service is fast and you don't have to wait long for your food either. Speaking of food... this place does not disappoint. We had an item from the hibachi grill, noodles and sushi and I they all were greater than my expectations.

If I could put zero stars, I would. This place is AWFUL! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I have never written an online review of any place, but this was so bad that I want to warn everyone not to waste their time and money! We waited for over an hour, and only received our rolls after we threatened to leave. The explanation was that the restaurant was "busy" (there were still plenty of empty tables), but somehow the lead cook was still not so occupied that he could come out and personally convince us not to leave. Interestingly, the four most expensive rolls that we ordered (which were not the ones we indicated we wanted first) all came out within two minutes, including the Takoyaki Special Roll that typically take longer to make. The place is a scam, based on slow wait times that make sure you won't stay long enough to order more than the maximum profit for the restaurant. BS. I will never eat there again - spread the word.

I love this place!!! Good food, great prices, and great atmosphere.... The servers can be a little annoying, with wanting to serve you though, nothing wrong with that. Good sushi too, and really good price....

I've been here a few times and I have ordered to go a few times. It's not good. It's tasteless, small portions, over cooked and soggy.
