Authentic food, prepared quickly, and friendly service. Done and done. Recommend shrimp dumplings, lemongrass beef, chicken skewers, Thai or Vietnamese coffee. Clay pots are good as well.

Best clay pots in Huntsville. Very friendly and everything I have tried is excellent. Mango rolls are unique and a great appetizer. Eaten here for lunch and dinner and have brought many co-workers and family to try.

I was there Friday . Food was good ! Custumer service was ok one person waiting 6-10 table . A little pricey for me compare to other Vietnamese restaurant !

I tried this place for the first time at lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the House Special Pho (beef, beef tripe, and meat balls) and the spring rolls. I loved the flavor of the Pho and could not stop eating it! The staff was very friendly and the lunch service was very quick.

Had to get my jonesin' for pho satisfied... hadn't had Vietnamese cuisine in a couple of years! (Living and working on an island in the middle of Bumfuck, Nowhere - ahem - Kwajalein you don't have many choices unless you go off-island!) And it's not far from where I live in Madison. The pho was tasty and so were the spring rolls. Definitely worth coming here for some pretty good Vietnamese cuisine!

The clay pots here are pretty good, but lately the flavor has been far more bland. Previously it would have gotten at least four stars, but it was just that bland last time. For brisket pho, Viet Huang in Huntsville has better quality meat, but for clay pots you are much better off here as the amount of rice is far more generous.I hope some day to be able to try their lunch dim sum options. The staff are friendly, and it is located in the same shopping center as a very good and decently large Vietnamese grocery store. My wife eats here for lunch often and continues to go back, as do we for supper or lunch when we can go together, so this is on our list of recurring restaurants.

I love Vietnamese food and was relieved to have found a good Vietnamese restaurant in Huntsville. Since my first visit to Saigon (4-5 months back), I believe I have been there 7-10 times and haven't had a bad experience. Having grown up in Bangkok, Thailand I am a big fan of Thai spring rolls (deep fried), but still loved the spring rolls here. The chocolaty peanut sauce that accompanied the rolls made the already tasty rolls even tastier. I am a big fan of pho and loved the beef pho ($7.95 for a medium pho). My wife ordered the tofu clay pot during our first visit to Saigon and swore to never order anything else - usually a good sign. :) Saigon isn't a fancy restaurant by any means, but is a nice clean and simple place you can go for lunch (fast service) and dinner. Their prices are comparable to most other non-so-fancy Vietnamese restaurants and they have very fast service - perfect place to go to for lunch on a work day.

This restaurant has excellent Vietnamese food. The lunch specials taste fantastic and are at a good price, the portions large and the service is great. Get there early if you want t beat the lunchtime crowds and don't let the simple decor and layout fool you, this place makes fantastic dishes. My personal favorite is the chicken pad Thai, but there's plenty to choose from.

One of the better Vietnamese restaurants I have been to. My wife agrees and she is Vietnamese. Try their hu tieu dac biet. Wonderful soup.

Deciding that I wanted some vietnamese tonight, we went for some phó... I had the egg rolls, which were pretty good but a little over cooked and still very edible, some rice and then phó. This turned out to be a pretty good place to go tonight for the phó and it tasted excellent! (although I do agree with the other user that had to much msg in it and bullion)... I guess my real complaint about this place is that the meat could of been a little more fresh, but it is thursday night and it was a little bit slow tonight so that is forgiven... I don't know how the other yelper complained about the service here, as the employees that work here were really nice! I will have to try out the other vietnamese restaurant in town to have a comparison... But so far so good!

Stopped for lunch and got what I expected - good food (I had the shrimp and Vietnamese sausage fried rice) at a good price. Atmosphere is modest but the service was attentive. I would stop by again.

We ate at Saigon recently and had a great meal. I had the lemongrass chicken, which was outstanding, and my wife really enjoyed her pho soup. We try to get Vietnamese food whenever we find it, and this compares very favorably with what we've enjoyed elsewhere. Service was good, the owner was attentive, and the other waitress (daughter?) was very friendly. Atmosphere was ok, they have not done a lot with the decor. But dinner was amazingly cheap, I think we spent less than $30 with diner and drinks. Who needs decor at those prices?

    super value, excellent service

Pretty good, but the atmosphere could use some work. We did like the food, however...it's just it feels a little...removed from the world.

They need to work on the service. It's just the attitude that seem like it's a pain for them to be there and we (customers) should praise them for serving us. The food is okay. Stick with clay pot or broken rice. Pho broth tastes like from a bullion. The egg rolls & pork vermicelli only came with half an egg roll; no joke. They also charge extra for to-go orders or if you ask to have a box. I ordered two spring rolls to go after dinner, and they charge 50 cents extra. Their excuse is to "cover the to-go stuff and price rising" WTF??? LMAO. That's the most ridiculous thing... It's like we live in Europe where they charge for plastic bags... Wish there's more Vietnamese options in HSV.

I love the spring rolls and the pho tai. I am not sure why the other reviewers were as critical as they were. Though I generally only go for lunch, it's always been quick and the food great. I have also never had poor service, but I do prefer the less chatty waiter or waitress. Sure, the atmosphere isn't all elegance and pomp, but that's not why I go. The food is inexpensive and really good. The pho is as good as any I have had at other Vietnamese restaurants.

Good, relatively cheap, as authentic as you can expect in Alabama, great chicken curry, really really good fried rice. Friendly owners + waitstaff. Only one negative, I did not like the Pho Ga (chicken soup); it was stale and salty. But overall I give this place a BIG thumbs up, you will enjoy it.

So... It's not typical for me to actually go back and lower my review from an already bad review. That being said - this place is possibly the worst restaurant in Madison. They are always out of things, and they are in no short supply of attitude. I said before, it's like you are inconveniencing them by doing business here. It's OK to be a mom and pop place and run out of stuff. It's not OK to give people attitude because you suck at running a restaurant. So I went back twice since my last review of this place. One time I met a friend during a lunch break, and it took them an hour to give us Pho. The last time I went here, I opted to go here instead of ding how on airport for dim sum. They didn't have the vast majority of their dim sum menu. They literally had 2 things from the entire menu they presented, then charged us for the cokes we didn't drink on the way out. Never again. Disgraceful. I don't understand how they stay in business. If you decide to go here, remember it's not that you caught them on a bad day. It's always like this.

I really like this place. Great service. Excellent lunch menu. Authentic -- reminds me of what I had in Asia.

Stopped here on a whim on our way through Huntsville during a road trip to visit family in Florida. I'm so glad we happened to find this little place! Though it doesn't look like much on the outside, on the inside it's cozy, charming, and beautifully decorated. I had the tofu clay pot and my mom had the chicken & shrimp salad, and we shared vegetarian spring rolls for an appetizer. The food was absolutely outstanding--fresh, good quality, and perfectly cooked--the prices were very reasonable, and the service was great. Wish we lived in Huntsville so we could come here all the time!

Very good food, excellent service. Small dining room, but is always able to accommodate my large group of coworkers when we call in advance.

I always order P6 (beef noodle soup with medium rare steak and beef meatball), which is alright. I've had better pho elsewhere. The medium rare steak is usually overcooked and not tender. My husband always gets the claypot rice, which always smells very yummy and looks better than the pho I order. I totally recommend the claypot rice, if you do visit Saigon. Go elsewhere for pho. The servers are not the friendliest in town, but they get my food to me pretty fast so I don't mind. We live less than 5 minutes away from Saigon, which is the main reason why we come here whenever I want to have something soupy (and I can't get it anywhere else nearby).

So I got the Bun Bo Hue the one that has rice vermicelli noodles (clear) with beef, fried scallops (which was alright), chewy squid, shrimp, all in chicken broth that taste like water with no seasonings AT ALL. Trust me I've had better. Overall not satisfied with the taste and they could've done a better job. I guarantee you this place will run out of business in a few years. It's almost like teenagers running the place and making the food. If you like their food, go right ahead. No one is stopping you.

I ate here on a late Sunday night and have to be grateful that they served me. The first thing I noticed were the owners kids playing in the dining area. Kind of a turn off, this is a restaurant not a day care center. Next the place is dated and run down. OK am I being picky, I would have if more places were open that late on a Sunday. Now the food was mediocre and lack luster. With all the Asian food choices in the Huntsville / Madison area these guys need to step up their game. I couldn't completely trash the place because the were open when many other weren't. But the FoodDude pulls no punches and tells it like it is.

Chicken clay pot with extra brown sauce is all I have to say about this place. It's delicious every single time and I love it!! Staff is always friendly and the food is excellent!

A "small" bowl of Beef Pho soup was my supper tonight. I thought it was excellent. My wife had the Chicken Pho. I'm glad my wife showed me a way to eat the noodles from the bottom of the bowl. She lifted some noodles a little with her fork, and spun the fork tines in the bowl of her soup spoon. Voila! Noodles now stay on the fork, where they can be neatly eaten. I suppose Asians eat the noodles with chopsticks, but we didn't even try that.

If you're looking for ambiance, Saigon is not the restaurant for you. However, if you're looking for unique flavors and a great meal, please stop into Saigon. My husband and I frequent the restaurant often. Some servers are better than others but in general, the staff is friendly. Of course, we come for the food which is hard to stay away from once you try it! I definitely recommend this restaurant. They do get busy around lunch time so try to stop in earlier in the day if you can.

My favorite is the Thai Noodle Soup with an order of Chicken Wings!

I was impressed by the food after walking in. The appearance is a bit dull, but the food is a unique spin on Asian cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely delicious Pho! Wow. I couldn't believe how good it was based on the subpar reviews. Will be back!

First time here and the server was very rude. Long wait to even get water. I asked if she spoke Vietnamese (because I am and it's easier to order that way) but she was not and was short and rude the rest of the time we were ordering. Final opinion: bad service for just-okay "authentic" food.

Great Pho! The broth is well seasoned and you have ample herbs. There is limited seating and it fills up quickly during lunch work hours. Fast service. Sometimes they can work so fast that they don't check on you once you receive your entree. Great for food on the go also. It's definitely a reliable favorite.

We got the specials on the front cover, 1 & 2. Rice was mushy and so was the egg roll. Chicken curry wasn't good neither. A lot of carrots made it too sweet. The kebabs were ok except there were only three shrimp that fill up maybe half the stick. Overall, a big disappointment considering the pho we had for lunch a couple of days ago was adequate for my taste buds. I had high hopes for this place.

The spring rolls are outstanding and a must have for only 3 bucks. The Singapore noodles were good and flavorful but slightly dry. Think I would try a noodle bowl next time. If you have never has vietnimese give it a chance ay least once. If you like vietnimese your options are probably limited in this particular area so fortunately this place is pretty good.

Excellent taste and service. I had the House Special Clay Pot with the shrimp, chicken and beef. It tasted freshly made. I will come back again. Don't let the storefront mall setting keep you from entering. The food is worth the visit.

I have only ever had takeout...but it has always been exceptional. We are repeat fans of the phô. The depth and complexity of the broth makes it exceptional on its own, but when you admit the rest of the ingredients - high quality, delicious....it's amazing. Such a gem to find in a strip mall in Madison!!

Delicious fresh authentic food. Loved the pho with chicken. My husband had a seafood broth dish. He loved all of the sauces. Great freshly cooked food.
