This place is legit!! Very fresh, great taste, at a great price! The small portion is plenty to feed one and I'm a 6 foot, 220 male with a big appetite.

Excellent place in Madison! Customer service is top notch, very friendly, personable, accommodating, and great hospitality. The food tastes incredible too! Portions are generous and well priced. Ordered spicy tuna roll ($4.25), which included fresh tuna, little crunches on the inside, and spicy sauce on top. Eight pieces total. What a steal!. Also ordered a teriyaki chicken and steak bento box with fried rice, salad, a dumpling, and four California sushi rolls. Everything was amazing! My wife and I ordered our five year old general tso with lo mein noodles. He was happy and actually ate more than half of my wife's teriyaki chicken from her bento bowl! We tried the tso and were impressed. It had a nice crunch to it, but wasn't over fried and greasy. The chicken itself had excellent quality as well as the noodles. I believe we found our new favorite spot in the Huntsville/Madison area. This place blows Taste of China and Rice Box out of the water. There's even a drive thru/pick up window on the side. Place is really clean on the inside too! Overall great experience!

Great food and large portion size. I had the teriyaki beef bento box with steamed rice and I substituted out the California Roll for the Philly Roll. The sushi was excellent and the food was great. Will return soon.

Our favorite Asian takeout place. Food is high quality and always cooked fresh. Great Chinese options and the sushi is really good too.

It was not a very good start. I got there and one of the servers had a long phone call order using the computer. Everyone was just standing waiting for here to get done. Another server could have taken the stand-in orders to get them going but they just waited until she was done with the computer. Food wise, the lunch box was pretty good. A lot of good food for the price. I will try one more time and hope for better service as the food will bring me back one more time.

Wonderful place! I went in knowing I wanted delicious food but with nothing specific in mind. The lady behind the counter asked me two questions about my taste preferences and recommended the General Tso which is a sweet, sour, and mildly spicy fried chicken dish. It was absolutely amazing! Fresh, tender chicken. The sauce was flavorful but not overpowering. I also went with the fried rice and was greatly pleased with its freshness and quality. If you're in the mood for Chinese takeout, I cannot recommend Red Fish enough.

I admit it, I was skeptical. But the food was good, the service was great, portions were generous and prices were fair. This was definitely better than the average strip mall place. No fortune cookies, bummer. I wasn't wowed but I will be going back again.

I'm and Australian (where the population 20% Asian) so I look for Asian food that's fresh. This is a combo (Japanese, Chinese) Asian cuisine that's fresh made to order. It was near closing time and they happily gave me more than I ordered and cooked it fresh in front of me. The sushi was really fresh and the teriyaki chicken and shrimp fresh off the grill. Tasted great. Friendly server. Highly recommended.

Red Fish is in one of the worst possible restaurant locations in Madison (formerly Philly Connection subs). It's a small unit next to Windmill beverages and generally hard to see from the street. They have renovated the inside with some stone work and fresh paint. The decorations are sparse but it seems clean. I had the beef teriyaki bento box which included edamame, an iceberg lettuce salad, fried rice, a California roll, and a drink for $9 out the door. The beef was served hot and optionally included mushrooms which I found flavorful and enjoyable. I was pleased with the quality and value. They have table service for inside dining and our waitress was exceptionally friendly. The restaurant is setup so you can watch the cooks prepare your food and they too were friendly. Everyone on staff seemed to be trying hard so I think if enough people can actually find them they have a good chance at succeeding. I would go back.

From Sonic, Red Fish is just across the street, to the NW. This place looks brighter, newer and cleaner than it did when the cheesesteak place was here. I'll miss the Philly cheesesteaks, but this Japanese food is more healthful. At the order taker's suggestion, my wife and I each ordered a lunch-size Hibachi Chicken plate with Steam Rice & Vegetables. I got a small Coke. My wife asked for water. The girl at the register told her to get a bottled water from the cooler, but did not charge for it. [?] Our total bill was $14.71. Everything in the meal seemed fresh. They asked if we wanted any kind of extra sauce. We declined, but I wonder what they have. Their signature Teriyaki Sauce on the chicken was very mild, with not even as much flavor as the grilled white chicken itself. The veggies and rice didn't have a lot of flavor, either. So, I put some of the Kikkoman Soy Sauce from the table bottle onto my rice. This helped a lot, but it wasn't as interesting as the complex flavors I get at Chinese places. We had arrived about 1:30 pm on a Tuesday, when there was plenty of parking space, and the restaurant wasn't busy. Our order came to our table in about three minutes. We could only eat about half of our lunches, and took the rest home in go boxes. Next time we'll probably split one lunch, maybe adding egg roll(s). I found the white chicken breast a little boring. Next time I'd probably try their Teriyaki Steak or Salmon. The place is non-smoking. They do take credit cards. My wife says they have a drive-up window, also. Their Japanese cuisine contains no MSG. We came after regular lunchtime, but I think they deserve more business. Give 'em a try sometime if you're near the I-565 Wall-Triana exit. Expect good food, and friendly service with a smile.

I agree with Jim M's review, except I think Red Fish deserves 5 stars. The quality of food for the price you pay (which is CHEAP) is exceptional and the staff is so friendly it's ridiculous. Every time I've been, I got the chicken teriyaki and my wife got shrimp teriyaki. They make your food fresh to order and if you're a picky eater they will accommodate you. I really hope more people figure out about Red Fish so that it can thrive and continue being a convenient take-out restaurant for me on the way home from work.

Visited Red Fish for the first time today. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box, which came with 4 pieces of california roll, rice, salad and edamame. I also got the BBQ eel roll. I thought the bento was worth it. Didn't care much for the eel roll. Food was fresh and the price was reasonable. Took a while for them to prepare the food, but it was okay. I had it to-go and I live close by. Will be going back!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
