I was given a recommendation to try this place by a middle-aged Vietnamese couple that have lived in Huntsville for about a decade. They said that this would be the best pho I would find in Huntsville - they were right. Now other people have mentioned the merits of Viet Huong and Saigon, but I liked Pho 89 the best. I usually order pho tai and my pho here (I got P6) seemed fresher and more similar to what I have eaten in California. I am definitely going to come back here to get my pho fix!

Down from Nashville we popped into this clean restaurant with tasteful decor and we ordered the most flavorful seafood Pho!! Loaded with rich flavor and 4 kinds of seafood. Pleasant and kind staff. We will be back!!!

Great food, and great service! Best Vietnamese restaurant in Huntsville Madison area. Ordered the chicken curry and it was very good. Ordered a meal to go for me and a colleague and they were helpful, kind, and speedy. Definitely a good spot of you enjoy oriental food of any kind. Only negatives that I could see being a problem for people are accessibility due to heavy traffic on 72, and the smell from the neighboring cigar shop. Both very not a big issue to me. You can easily do a U turn on 72 if heading west, and they're installing a new ventilation system to filter the smoke smell. Give them a visit and support local business

Pho #89 is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat. Their pho is comparable if not better than Viet Cuisine. Pho #89 definitely has the best clay pots I've ever had. The rice in the clay pot alone is amazing but the meats and vegetables make it that much better. I'm not a huge fan of their bubble tea as Viet Sandwich has the best in town but their taro bubble tea is worth getting. I almost forgot to mention their grilled pork. If you have never had it here, I absolutely recommend getting it. It has the best flavor out of any of the asian places in town.

Service was consistently kind, fast & friendly. And the food... tantalizingly delicious!! This has been our experience so far for the 2x we've visited (1st time for lunch w a party of 16 last week, and 2nd today for a cozy early dinner for 2). We opted for non-Pho dishes this evening since it was a warm day today. I ordered #C6 - Cóm tâm đac biêt. This was the combo amongst the rice dishes. It came w charbroiled pork chop, shredded pork, egg quiche omelet, with a fried egg over medium on top of the rice. On the side were few slices of cucumbers, tomato, and thinly sliced carrot pieces on a bed of lettuce. The veggies were fresh and crisp... just the way I like 'em. And when you pour the savory condiment Nuoc Mam Cham (sweet fish sauce) all over the dish... there is no better word to describe it other than HEAVENLY!! Totally devoured! Hubby ordered #X5 - Cari xáo gá (sautéed chicken w curry) which had a nice kick to it w a perfect spicy level - not too hot, but neither flat. This was mixed and served with long juicy egg noodles w a side of jasmine rice. Hubby enjoyed it all the way down to the reflection of the plate. Lol Other dishes we've tried that are just as delicious were the Com tay câm đac biêt (clay pot special w shrimp, beef, chicken & squid) off the lunch menu, and the Tái bò viên Pho (rare steak and beef meatballs, #P13). This place is becoming a frequent stop for us not only because the food is so delectable, but because it is also conveniently located on this side of Madison and closer to us. 8) I'd rate them a bright & shiny 5-star BUT am downgrading it to a 4-star due to the lingering tobacco smoke from the cigar neighbors right next door. The smell of smoke was not as distinct during our lunch time visit last week than it was this evening when we first walked in. After a while, we couldn't notice but it still isn't acceptable in my book. In closing, I will say that the food served here is by far better in taste and quality than the other 2 Vietnamese restaurants in town. Give them a try and see for yourself?!!

The food was great! I had the P7 Pho, and the strawberry slushy bubble tea. Both were amazing!! My husband had curry chicken and he enjoyed it as well. The staff were very attentive and nice! The only part that bothered me a bit is the smoke from the cigar place next door. After a bit it was ok. But I will definitely be going back!!

At Pho #89 again enjoying a healthy portion of pho with some spicy wings. I love coming here to eat a good bowl of pho.

Im a big fan of Viet Cusinine and of Viet Huong in Huntsville, but am really loving Pho #89 recently. The Pho is very high quality and they put just the right amount of everything in each bowl. The Iced Viet Coffee (My Favorite) is pre-made, so it loses the luster of watching the drip process, but speeds up my ability to drink it, which trumps all requirements imo. Staff is nice and friendly and I have tried dishes I usually dont try to great results. Nothing stands out in my 8-10 visits there, but everything i have tried has been great. So I highly recommend this place. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it is closed on Wednesday, which sucks and makes me very angry... I understand people need days off.... but my stomach demands to be pampered daily.

Wife and I gave this place a try. Delicious. She had the shrimp rolls and I had the chicken with veggies saute with curry. It had some great heat. We'll be coming back. Friendly staff.

So, my wife and I did a lot of work this Saturday morning and afternoon ahead of yet another round of storms, and since part of that work included sealing our granite counter tops we realized we would have to go out. We didn't want to go far, and we wanted to try somewhere new. We lucked out. I saw the reviews and their online menu (which is not altogether accurate, by the way), and we decided that if it happened to be better than either Saigon or Viet Huong we would be in luck since this place is closer to where we live. When I asked for sweet tea they said they had it (hint hint, Viet Huong!) and it didn't taste like artificial lemon (hint hint, Saigon!), so I was happy from that point on. For the appetizer, my wife got her normal Vietnamese order of shrimp spring rolls, but I branched out from my normal chicken wing order and got the grilled pork spring roll. Oh my goodness was it good! I don't have anything against normal spring rolls. They are fresh and easy to eat, but they don't have the type of flavor that keeps me coming back. These grilled pork spring rolls will be hard to top, though. I will, of course, order other appetizers when we go back since I like to try new things, but they will become an "old faithful" as long as they stay as good as they were today. My wife got her normal pho with brisket and rare steak, which she said was on par with Saigon but not as good as Viet Huong's because of the fatty/tendony portions of the brisket. Despite that, she liked her dish and would just order without the brisket next time. They did have tripe options, for you many tripe lovers out there, but we're not on the tripe train. I had the rice noodle soup with chicken, pork, and shrimp. The meats were pretty standard, although I'm always surprised when the chicken is really just slightly shredded boiled chicken breast. I'm not sure why it surprises me every time, but it does. The noodles were very thick and had a great texture, and it was probably one of the most enjoyable soup noodle experiences I've had. We will definitely be returning, so there will likely be an update soon. Oh, and the others are right, if you are allergic or otherwise opposed to cigar smoke, the cigar store next door does waft freely through the walls, apparently, so keep that in mind. My wife doesn't care for the smell, but she gave her stamp of approval to return here regardless!

My first stop at the relatively new Pho #89 but it won't be my last. Started with some excellent egg rolls. Crispy and with actual meat mixed in with the vegetable filling! Ordered one of the house specials for the main course and got a big plate of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetables on a bed of fried noodles. Delicious! The atmosphere was relaxed, the restaurant clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I can't wait to try another dinner. :-D

We were greated warmly immediaetly upon entering the restaurant and so was every person that came in after us. We knew that we hit that jackpot once we saw that the place was loaded with Indiginous Personnnel (IP). Mind you there are other good Pho restaurants in Madison/Huntsville, but Pho 89 tied all the elements together, appearance, music, decor, quality, taste and price to create an exceptional dinning experience. I'm not of Vietnamse decent but I do know what I like, my plate of "Com tam dac biet" (# C6) (pictured in listing) was delicious. My wife a vegeteratian ordered "Bun dau hu xao xa" (B9) and it also was outstanding as there was nothing left on our plates but the garnish. I think there was another establishent here before as Pho 89 has only been in place for 8 months. Bathroom facilities where super clean. Without a doubt, this is our new go to, Vietnamese restauarnt.

Agree with review below about the cigar smell. They are next to a cigar shop. I didn't notice the smell more first time there, two/three weeks ago. Today was very noticeable as soon as we walked in. I smelled it throughout our meal. Besides that, the food and service were excellent. The food came out quickly despite the place was 90% full. Everything tasted right. The pho broth was flavorful. The rice special was a lot of food and variety meats. The fish sauce was also good. I'll give it another go amd hopefully they can fixed the smell. I'm not a smoker so the smell is very unappetizing. ---update: returned around October 2014, it still had strong cigar smell.

Great food, attentive staff, comfortable dining room. Reminds me of living on the West Coast; nice to see some good Asian food in this part of the country, and I'll definitely be returning.

Used to be great I've been eating here since they have opened. Recently in the last month the broth in the pho tastes like it has been watered down. Flavorless. Fix that and I will love to come back and change my review. Until then I will be eating at viet houng

Best vietnamese restaurant in town. We ordered pork Pho and broken rice with pork. Both were delicious. As an appetizer we ordered pork rolls and they were extremely good. Quick service and reasonably priced.

Will come back. Typical Pho that you find in larger metro area. To have a pho place here in Huntsville, I am in heaven! I travel a lot to Huntsville, ate only once at the other Vietnamese restaurants. This place beats all of them. Ordered the Veg Roll and Pho.

Definitely a good place to eat chicken Pho. Totally matches flavor with why we has in WA. Chicken fried rice could use a bit if help but still good.

Great Pho! But much more on menu. We ate here what we always eat at our longtime favorite restaurant , Viet Huong. This was every bit as good!

My husband and I both had pho and it was the best soup we have ever had! You didn't need the veggies to add flavor, but even those brought the soup to another level of deliciousness. The staff were extremely friendly and checked on us quite a bit. They were also very knowledgable about the menu and gave us recommendations for next time. We will definitely go back!

Hands down my favorite Vietnamese place. The Clay pot is to die for and is full of flavor. The only downside is the every once and a while lingering cigar smoke from the joint next door. Dont let it deter you, the food is worth it.

Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food. The Pho was salty and the flavor was just a off. The eggrolls were good but the fish sauce was not very good. Lastly, the restaurant smelled like cigarette sample and there were a couple of people sleeping on a booth. Overall very disappointed.
