High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Thanks to marrying a Texan, I've become a big Whataburger fan. They have the best fast food grilled chicken sandwich around. This time, we stopped for breakfast and I tried their honey butter chicken biscuit. Messy, but tasty. One word of warning: the exit to this location back on to the main road is on top of a bit of a hill. That makes it hard to see traffic coming from both directions. Be careful and look closely before pulling out.

Searching for WiFi and somewhere to sit inside after 11:30pm in Fultondale brought me to Whataburger after McDonald's failed to live up to even its 24/7 drive-thru billing. The WiFi was free and maintained good signal during my three-hour visit. The medium milkshake I ordered to merit my long-term stay was generously sized, to say the least, but not quite as pineapple-y as I expected, the restaurant was pretty clean for a 24/7 fast food joint, the staff was friendly, and there was even steady clientele through 2:30am. Not bad, Fultondale, not bad at all.

Great hangover food. Double meat / double cheese with fries cures all. Clean restrooms too. Do not forget the chocolate shake. Breakfast tacos are a solid option between 11pm and 11am.

This is the closest Whataburger to my home in North Alabama. I used to frequent Whataburger back in North Carolina. I stop at this one every chance I get to head south on 65. It's always delicious and exactly what I'm expecting. The restaurant is clean and the service is fast.

Bathroom was a nightmare. They got both my order and my wife's order wrong. French fries tasted like cardboard. Texas toast is nothing more than grilled wonder bread drowned in butter. Never going-back!

As close as we'll get to In-N-Out Burger on the East coast, and that's OK. After a morning flight to Birmingham mixed with the time zone change my stomach was screaming "Feed Me!" at exactly the same time that I saw the road side sign for food. Within minutes I was st the counter ordering my go to, a #1. Don't let the colorful menu sway you, stick with the burgers, fries and shakes. Everything is made to order, so you'll take your seat and within a few minutes your meal arrives complete with a fine offering of condiments. Whataburger's are consistent with taste and service, just stick with the burgers and avoid the "Sandwich Of the Day"

This place is terrible. We love coming to visit the south and are staying down the street at Hampton Inn and Suites in Fultondale. We read some positive reviews about Whataburger (including that it's basically the "In-N-Out Burger of the South). Um....no...more like the Sonic of the south. Oh, wait a minute, the south already gave us Sonic, so we don't really need two of them. Seriously, the burgers are identical to Sonic. So...we ordered in the drive-thru and got back to our hotel to discover that my son's Sprite was a water instead. Not a fizzy water due to the syrup being out, but actual tap-water that the guy at the window thought was a Sprite. Then his cheeseburger had no cheese. I guess we're gluttons for punishment because we decided to give it another chance two days later. We went inside to order "to go" in order to take food back to the hotel. Once again, two of our burgers were made wrong, the large onion rings I ordered were half empty and what was in the container were some of the most greasy, nasty rings I've had in recent memory. I usually don't post negative reviews on Yelp. I guess I figure that everyone needs a mulligan and has a bad day. But after two botched visits in a row, I felt like I needed to save some other poor traveler the time. Spend your money elsewhere...

I was stoked to find a Whataburger outside of the great state of Texas. I ordered a regular Whataburger with jalepenos and it was delicious. Whataburger is simple fast-food and great service. After ordering, you take a number and food is delivered to your table along with whichever condiments you need. Its a nice touch for such affordable food. And the burgers are really tasty.

I haven't had a Whataburger since I worked in Texas back in the late 90's. I can honestly say that this place is as good as it gets in quality and quantity. First they have a 92 rating from the health dept. The service was impeccable. Fast, friendly and courteous. My burger was cooked just right and the fries where cooked equally as well. I'm glad it's not located close to me because I would be eating there every day. If you are on I-65 stop on off at exit 271 (I think) and try it out.

My first Whataburger experience was pretty decent. I guess it is the In-N-Out of the south. I found out accidentally about the portion sizes when the cashier asked me if I wanted to up-size my "Meal" to a large. I declined, and she proceeded to pull out an empty urn for my Diet Coke. I asked her if she had made a mistake and she said no, that was the medium. The large must be HUGE! The burger itself was about the size of a Burger King Whopper, so they don't mess around. The big draw is apparently the Whataburger Ketchup, which seems to have some extra sweetness to it. Not the best fries I've ever had, but not the worst. Overall, it's a fun place with good portion sizes, but nothing that would make me rush back. I might wait an extra exit to stop in here, but I wouldn't drive an extra hour.

it was an OK burger. Hardees has a better deal. I am full after I ate Hardees. this place about 15 minutes later I was hungry again. Whataburger was not great.

Yes I'm a foodie so yes only I would determine where we get a hotel for the night on our way to New Orleans by googling Whataburger locations and strategically finding a hotel that is nearby. And that's exactly what I did so that I could once again taste the glory that is Whataburger on our trip down south for vacation. Having once lived in Austin, TX for 5 years I was quite familiar with the insane deliciousness of the familiar orange pyramid shaped restaurants. Sadly one tends to grow used to having such comforts and do not miss them until they can no longer have them and such is the case for Whataburger. While in Austin I only ate there every couple of months, mostly because I didn't want to abuse the hell out of fast food and was watching my weight. Well this was vacation and all bets were off. So I confidently strode into this Whataburger and ordered the triple..that's right the TRIPLE!!! with a small fries. My fiance Stefanie had never tried Whataburger before and ordered the single with a small fries. A very bland cashier who didn't seem to be all that friendly (which I didn't give a crap though to be honest, I mean I'm at freakin' Whataburger!!) took our order and gave us a number and we sit down to wait. I was very hungry and the wait seemed like 2 hours but it was actually more like 10-15 minutes. Our food arrived and I was quick to undress my burger. What a glorious, sloppy, huge mess of a burger it was. Just how I remembered..although in all my years in Austin I had never dared to order the triple...the double was the highest I had dared to fly...so I was really looking forward to this. One bite of that cheeseburger and wow, the memories, amazing how food can trigger memories but all my memories of Austin, TX came flooding back to me..good times! I went to work on that huge burger and it took a while but it was dirty (and delicious job) so someone had to do it. It was every damned bit as good as I remembered and although I did get full eating it I enjoyed that burger till the very last cheesy, messy bite. My fiance did not like her burger as much as me, she said Whataburger seemed a bit salty. I don't think she really would probably go back. But I would, and will, go back!!! ...now whens our next vacation and where is that Whataburger locator website at??

I normally stick to this location drive thru, but decided to go in this time. It was kinda small, but clean. There was no one at the counter when I approached... I stood around for 5 to 10 mins, but I guess someone signaled someone in the back. When I was assisted the employee was nice and the food was out quickly. I ordered the chicken finger basket, which is always awesome. You really can't mess up chicken fingers... I will be back, but i will stick to drive thru only!

Fast, friendly service. Hamburger is huge and had nice flavor. This is my first time to Whataburger and I will be back. Loved the spicy catsup that is available. Fries were tasty and not overly salted.

Tony and I stopped on our way to Tannehill Ironworks Historical Park .for a quick bite.. I have never eaten at one or even heard of them so even though 5am-ish I had to stop... I ordered a whataburger with cheese and small soda.. Tony got sausage gravy and biscuit.... after two bites I had heartburn city from all the mustard caked on it... And it was so greasy... I am in the bathroom stall writing this review.... personally I don't think whataburger is for me..... but you might like it... it is cheap.. less than $8 for everything even taxes

So, I've had Big Boy, I've had In-N-Out, I've had Five Guys. OK, so we've established that I know what good burgers are supposed to be. But this was my first chance to try Whataburger. I'd lived in Pensacola, where there were Whataburgers, but I'd never taken the opportunity to try them. There are none in Middle Tennessee at all, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a shot when I came upon one in the Birmingham area. An as far as the Burger goes, it's actually pretty darn good. The meat was tasty, an not skimped. The bun was pretty decent, too. The cheese had some flavor. Is it better than the above-named establishments, hmm. Probably not, but it's in the same universe. My one complaint is that when I ordered, I based my instructions based on the menu board. The board said nothing about mayo or ketchup on the burger, but it does about everything else, so I did not tell them to put mustard or pickles on it, I wasn't expecting ketchup or mayo. I like ketchup, so that's not a problem, but I loathe mayo, so I was upset about that. They graciously offered to make another one for me, so that was nice, but I am miffed that I could not trust that the burger on the board was the same that's being made. Next time, I'll probably get a meal. I'd like to try the fries. It's 24 Hour Open schedule is a nice touch.
