This is one of the best BBQ places out there. Not only do they have great BBQ but also lots of other things to choose. They have great salads, vegetables & desserts too. If you are out & want to catch a good buzz then don't forget to have an ice cold beer as well.

The first time I came here I remember thinking "Not bad." This time I was thinking "I've definitely had better." It may have just been me, but I didn't really feel like getting my hands dirty. I know, it seems like I may have chosen the wrong cuisine, but I was really hoping for fall of the bone ribs and moist bbq chicken. Instead, both were dry and hard. Since being in the Birmingham area, I've had a lot of good barbecue, but Full Moon just didn't deliver tonight. According to a list of "100 dishes to eat in Alabama before You Die," the two must-haves for this restaurant is the half moon cookie and the marinated cole slaw. For the cookie... I don't get what all the fuss is about. The cole slaw... Not bad. A little bit strong on the vinegar, but when mixed with the chicken... not bad.

I have no complaints with this Alabama BBQ join. The pork, brisket and smoked turkey are always moist and tasty. I enjoy the sweet BBQ sauce as well as the collard greens and fried green tomatoes. All in all, I'll be back when I'm in town.

This place was packed on a Tuesday afternoon when I was passing through town. The building looks really nice too. I was really excited to try this place. Talk about some boring and over-priced BBQ with small-ass sides.

Over all not bad. We eat here regular so here is the review for this trip. We split the two piece catfish dinner with steak fries and chow chow. We added a loaded baked potato and half order onion rings. The fish was great, very hot and done this time without a strong fish taste. ( can you tell that has happened in the past.) Fries were good as was the chow chow. The onion rings had cooled some while waiting on the fish to cook since the fish are not dropped into the oil until it is ordered. Probably the worst part of the meal was my loaded baked potato. It was just hot enough to melt butter, but had trouble melting the cheese. The potato overall could have been a lot hotter. I have come to expect this on a lot of baked potatoes served out. just do not understand why a potato cannot be kept at an adequate temperature. We both had water to drink. Our total bill was about $25. Both very full when we left. Little more than we like to spend on a meal, but it was very good.

i have never had bad bbq from full moon and we have their bbq delivered to our office regularly. i've had the best bbq in the state of alabama (at big daddy's in warrior, al which won the state competition for bbq ribs). i live in warrior, so i know what i'm talking about. i think big daddy's is the place for ribs, but for pulled pork sandwiches, full moon is just fine too. here's a tip... the slaw is so good that i love to put it right inside of my bbq sandwich and you will too if you try it that way.

I was on my way to FL and wanted to try something local for lunch, found this right off the highway and never heard of it, so I tried it. It was OK, I mean it wasn't bad. My wife and I had a sandwich, drink and fries each and it was $17, thought that was a little much. They only have one kind of BBQ sauce and it was rather bland. All and all, I'll try somewhere else next time.

Was referred to this place by a local and it did it disappoint I started with the ribs and they were above average with a mild sauce. The chow chow was good but if you don't like vinegar cole slaw then don't get this. My wife had delicious fried green tomatoes and the brisket that I would have cooked it a little less but it was still very flavorful. We did have a half moon fresh baked cookie and it tasted like a giant chips ahoy ( not bad) my wife had the coconut cream pie and loved it and she is one to know. Very comfortable family place with a HUGE. Menu

My partner (we're in EMS) ordered a pork plate and I had the cheeseburger and chocolate pie. His plate was huge! It came with pulled pork, macaroni cheese, potato salad, green salad, and 2 pieces of bread. He said it was "fantastic". My burger was just alright. And my chocolate pie was really sweet. My partner finished it. Plenty of clean seats and they bring your meals to you. Enjoy.

I placed my ordered as I usually do. My order came to $58.76 and I presented a prepaid Visa card I got with reward points from my bank, to pay for my food and it declined. They ran it again and it declined again. I checked the balance and it was $66.17. Enough to easily cover the charge. I told the manager what the balance was and she said, "oh yeah our system has problems with prepaid Visa cards." In this day and age with so many people using prepaid cards, how does a business have problems taking them as payment and they not fix it?

We saw how Full Moon had been rated a top BBQ restaurant by Huffington Post so we were excited to give it a try while passing through Fultondale, AL. We dined in. In all, we ordered two "Classic Rib" plates, "Smoked Turkey on a Salad", and a hot dog kids' meal. The ribs were good. Where we're from, we're used to ribs with a sweeter sauce, and this one was more tangy (with a vinegar taste?). It was a nice alternative. My husband and son polished them off quickly, being generous enough to let me taste one of them. Their steak fries were tasty and cooked to perfection, either dipped in ketchup or not. My salad with turkey was pretty good and I'd chosen fat free ranch on the side. Turkey slices were piled high in the middle. It came with a couple of hot peppers (which I always remove) and a couple small tomato slices. I would have enjoyed more goodies in there like maybe some red onion or olives. Also it came with a few small packs of saltine crackers on the side. I would have preferred croutons for sure. We'd read good things about the Half Moon Cookies so we ordered a bunch of those. They came cold, individually wrapped in plastic bags. They were chocolate chip and nut cookies, with half dipped in chocolate. Eating one of these made for a good dessert to round out the meal. We brought the rest home and I was excited to find one left over the following morning to enjoy it again! In all, I'd rate the ribs pretty good (as we've had better), the salad average (needed more toppings) and the cookies excellent. I feel it was a little pricey for a restaurant where you go up to a counter to order your food. Overall though it's worth a stop if you're in Fultondale.

Go there. Eat BBQ. Go home. REPEAT! Everything was excellent. Brisket, pork, fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob, their special mustard-based relish called Chow Chow--Wow! Convenient to I-65. Clean place. Friendly staff. TVs everywhere. Decent beer selection. Seriously good BBQ. Rated one of 10 best in the nation by Huffington Post.

Great BBQ what else is needed? I have only used the takeout. Their servings are large. Quality is consistent. Love the choc ice box pie.

The food is good but be forewarned, if you go through the drive thru double check your order. I haven't been there once where they haven't messed up my order. Recently I went, placed a fairly large order, gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be right. Wrong. I get home they've forgotten the fries. I called said I'd go back, they said they'd redo my order. Getting there the girl who works the drive thru, who is supposed to check the order, never once apologized instead she closed the drive thru window and walked away. Customer service is definitely lacking.

Loved this place! Everything we ordered was excellent. I really, really enjoyed getting fried green tomatoes as a side! What a treat! Mac-n-cheese tastes homemade. BBQ was pretty good. It was a great experience for our family. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I ate here last Thursday . We had the brisket and chicken sandwiches, DELISH! The steak fries were just right (would have been better if there was ketchup in our bag). The full moon cookies are a must have, we are on our way there now! I'm going to try the fried green tomatoes.

Stopped by for dinner on our way to visit family in MS. Solid Bar-b-que restaurant. Service was very good. They easily moved our order from the drive-thru to inside when my group changed their mind and decided to go inside to eat. The Bar-b-que sauce is quite tasty. My wife loved the ribs, very tender. I had the large Bar-b-que sandwich. I wish I'd tried the onion rings. They looked delicious. For dessert we had the chocolate pie, carrot cake, and the half moon cookies. The carrot cake and the cookies were ok. The Chocolate Pie was excellent! I highly recommend it. We will be back next time we pass through.

I waited...I read the newspaper, returned texts and emails...and waited... I watched as others were being served. Finally I waived down the young man shuttling meals to tables. He looked at my ticket and gasped, almost an hour had passed since I placed my order. Minutes later I was served. The BBQ was so-so. But, the squash casserole was outstanding. The selection of beers was severely wanting. They did comp my meal.

We had bbq chicken and it was very tasty. For sides we chose collard greens (which came with a corn muffin), and cole slaw (the vinegar type- no mayo), baled beans and corn on the cob. The other chicken dinner came with a toasted hamburger bun. Portions were amply large. On the plate, was a small sampling of chow chow and some pickle slices. PRICE FOR OUR DINNERS WAS $10. It was self service. HINT: First you place your order and within a few minutes, your meal is delivered.

This review is for the franchise. I've eaten it a couple of times now, and while the food is good, it is not particularly standout. The menu overall is above average but only slightly. An enjoyable experience, but will only go back when convenient and options are limited

While driving through Alabama we pulled off the highway to get some dinner. We were just looking for some quick food at a drive through. There was an Arby's a few doors down but we saw a long line at Full Moon and thought since we were in Alabama we may as well try some BBQ (even if it was fast food). Once we pulled up to the drive-thru though we noticed something. The menu went from 5 dollars or so to about 35-40 which is not something I expect for a drive-thru menu. Granted, Cincinnati is an area full of drive-thru liquor stores so I have a fairly open mind. We ordered a couple pulled pork sandwiches, some mac and cheese and their chicken tenders (they have a different name for them). Overall, bad. Not much flavor in the food or the BBQ sauce that we got on the side. I'm hoping they have something else on the menu that merits the line we saw. If I lived in the South I would never go back for BBQ and we drove away wishing we had just stopped at Arby's.

I like the quantity and quality. The BBQ sauce choices are good. As always you lose some quality in chain type restaurants....but it's still a good place.
