Was great! The people were outstandingly friendly. This is local cooking- not the kind of chain cooking, if that's what you're looking for. Lots of interesting things like crayfish and alligator. Lots of fried foods, but nice salads too.

I met a business associate for lunch here yesterday. parts of the meal were mediocre, the grilled catfish (about the only thing not fried on the menu) was drenched with waaay too much something (i think butter & olive oil, with some spices) service was good, hushpuppies were fine. BUT, the star of the show is their "Swamp Soup", a concoction of collard greens, black beans, white beans & sausage. DELICIOUS!!! Worth coming just for the soup.

Great seafood at a great price. Fell in love with their catfish basket (seniors) 3 lg catfish filets, fries, hush puppies, fried okra, & 2 oz swamp soup. Nothing fancy but good food and good service.

We were so happy to find this great place in a strip mall in Foley. Fish River Grill #2 did not disappoint! You cannot pass up the Firecracker shrimp (slathered in buffalo sauce? and sprinkled with a generous supply of bleu cheese pieces). The white fish po'boy is excellent and the mysterious "Crawfish Pistols" are kind of like rich bisque in a deep fried French bun....so delicious. To top all of this off you get a free small cup of "swamp soup" which (happily) isn't gumbo but a rich greens and beans surprise. The waitstaff was friendly and knowledgeable and drinks were cheap and good. Way to go Fish River #2!

Great food - fried shrimp and hurricane burger were both hits! Good service and reasonable prices. Wonderful local place. Will be back the next time I am in Foley!

Great food and drinks...highly recommend! Shrimp omg pi boy is outstanding....swamp soup great...went here twice in one day on vacation. Burgers are fantastic.

Great food with a down-home feel. Nice southern fishery decor with some antiques scattered around as well. The catfish strips, fried oysters, and shrimp were all excellent. I like shoe string fries instead of crinkle cut, and the hush puppies were sweeter that I like, but those are personal preferences. Overall, highly recommended.

Went today on recommendation from snowbirds here in gulf shores. Service was very good, swamp soup was delicious. I had the seafood blt. Save your money on this one and get something else. It is served on a bun with bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato, shrimp but they put cheese on the shrimp. The crawfish sauce was fantastic. Everyone else enjoyed the good. I think it was the cheese.

Where the locals eat... That's the motto, and it's true. If you want Fried seafood and pretty decent burgers this is the place. I get the river cheeseburger and fried okra. Pretty good. My husband LOVES the hurricane burger gets it almost every time. We frequent FRG2 about once a month. They have this swamp soup that everyone says is phenomenal (it has too many critters in it that I don't eat!) but you get a free sample of it with your meal. It looks like a Cajun version of Italian wedding soup. They usually have live music on the weekends (usually country/ laid back). Decor and tables aren't the most aesthetically pleasing, but it's a decent place for some fried seafood and burgers. Service is good, even when they get pretty busy. Not a place for healthy food seekers... But there's not really anywhere around here for that anyway!
