Was recommended by multiple people at the Foley outlet, and it lived up to its reputation. Swamp soup, very tasty, and full of green, beans, and some seasonings to give it a pleasant spicey taste. We split the special fisherman platter ($20) fish, oysters, shrimp, fish, frog legs, hush puppies, and fried okra balls. DELICIOUS! Excellent service. Very nice Live Music (Thursday evening). We'll have to go back and try their famous burger.

FRG is a dive, but the food is great, simple menu, done very well. The swamp soup is delicious, and anything fried is done just right.

** They have non-fried fish options ** Service: 4.5 Food: 3.5 Now that I got that out of the way. I had a colleague in town for a few days and I just moved to the area so we had to go by Yelp ratings to find places to eat. This was high on his list because of the ratings. This place is not fancy by any means, and has a certain charm about it... Anyway, we wanted non fried seafood. I got the grilled white fish with crawfish sauce. He got the blackened shrimp. I definitely felt like I had the best items. The fish was wonderfully seasoned before it was cooked and the crawfish sauce had a wonderful flavor. There was also SO MUCH fish on the plate, like I got an entire platter of grilled fish. You also receive a very generous portion of french fries, hush puppies, and battered and deep fried okra pieces. I went ahead and got the sweet thing, the only dessert on the menu. The menu says that it is a stuffed New Orleans style beignet... the waitress described it as a redneck beignet! It is a large beignet stuffed with fruit and creme, it tasted like peaches and creme to me. The beignet itself was actually quite thin and the hot crispiness of the beignet was perfect with the fruit and creme. We had a bit of the swamp soup which has greens and black eyed peas in a clear broth... it tastes just like it sounds. We also had the fried chicken bites with buffalo sauce which were also tasty. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and brought me a tea to go with out check.

Been going here and to Foley - Fish River Grill 2 for years. Seafood always good. Swamp Soup is the best medicine on a cold rainy day! Heading to outlets - this was my go to for a bit of Swamp Soup to give me some energy! Kale broth and beans make this a dish to crave!

Called in a TOGO order on a Friday night and it took more than 30 minutes to even get an answer. Once someone answered the phone she never asked if I could be placed on hold, she demanded that I wait to order. She didn't even silence the line and went about her business engaging with other customers while I listened to her conversation for about 5 minutes. When she finally got back to me she seemed as if she was rushing my order and was rude. After placing my order I asked for a total and her response, word from word, was "No. I have someone else on hold and I'm trying to check out a customer." If it was that big of a deal to give me a total she could have been nice about it but she let me know that I was obviously using too much of her time. Horrible customer service!!!!!

Great little shack with some great food. I've been to both locations and if you are looking for down home cooking that is not healthy but tastes great then this is the place to be. Their fries taste great and I love anyone's Poboy but there's is excellent. They also have some of the best burgers I've ever had. You also get a cup of what they call Swamp Soup for free. It's a small portion and actually looks a little gross but tastes really good. I think we will be back!
