I'm not sure how to rate this place. It's a neat little shack with some good food and the prices are normal. But overall there is still a bit to be desired. I'm not sure anything on the menu can be cooked any way different than fried. The saving grace was that the way they fry their shrimp is delicious! But the portions were a bit low. Fried shrimp salad is basically a side salad with big fried shrimp on top... The shrimp poboy is a small hogie roll overloaded with shrimp to make it seem bigger. I had to eat half the shrimp before I could pick up the sandwich. If I wanted a platter of shrimp I would have ordered it. I expected a large hogie roll filled with shrimp. Anyway, it's a nice spot and the people working were very nice. It wasn't very busy though and we still had to ask a few times for refills and sauce and things.... Don't know how it would be if they were busy!

Lunch 11am-2pm Daily 5-8 Friday supper Atmosphere Set by the city Rose garden and pier, this comfort food restaurant has the best atmosphere of any in Fairhope and perhaps the eastern shore. Anywhere you sit you are greeted by a beautiful vista of roses, fountain waters cooling the hot Alabama day and the beautiful and historic Mobile Bay. Food The food is the best comfort food I have had in three southern states. It has enough richness and freshness to let you know that it is cooked homestyle while it is healthy enough that you don't feel the overwhelming urge to nap, like other comfort food restaurants. Special mention: the Roast Beef lunch special is incredible. If you aren't in the mood for meat, as I often am not, then the vegetable plate is equally as satisfying. The fried okra is also very good. The star of the menu is the Bread Pudding. Bread pudding is my favorite restaurant food and I have had it from New Orleans to New York City, and this is the best I've had anywhere. It us not the traditional, in that it is not firm. So don't expect your normal experience. It is a bit over filling to have it right after the lunch special, though. Service The service is friendly and personal. The feeling is more that these are actually the real person serving you rather than a mask they wear for work. I love talking to them and having gotten to know them.

Horrible experience. Um...I don't know if this is still under the same ownership since the last review of this place. We should have walked out when we walked in to the noxious smell of fresh paint (not low VOC). It took 10 minutes for my fiancé to get his iced tea. While waiting on our food, we overheard the sole waiter making a lot of apologies to people, which made us wonder what else he'll have to apologize to us for. We waited a LOONG time on our order and we felt terrible when our food was served before the 2 ladies sitting next to us who had ordered before we arrived. At first glance, I was very disappointed with the portion size of my $9 salad with grilled chicken. It was more like a $3 dinner salad with a few token pieces of chicken and a generous sprinkling of dill pickle chips(???). I will say that the few pieces of chicken I had were warm and tasty. However, that one bone of praise I was willing to throw them quickly went out the window...I was so disgusted when I found a hair in the bottom of the salad bowl. ((((rigors)))). I could go on but I want to erase this memory from my brain. This location has potential for an awesome cafe/coffee shop.

If you are in the mood for fresh seafood with traditional southern sides, you've picked the right place. This place has Momma in the back cooking and her son out front taking care of everyone. They don't sell alcohol, but they do have a BYO policy. The food is fantastic every time we go there. You cannot go wrong with the Fried Shrimp Platter. The fried oysters are as good as any I have ever had... Cooked perfectly every time. By the way, the view from the restaurant isn't bad either. It's nice to take a nice stroll down Fairhope Pier after lunch or dinner.

Great food, service, atmosphere and view. Can't wait to go back and try their dinner. TRY THE BREAD PUDDING!
