Had dinner here for the first time on our anniversary. Everything we had was amazing. My wife had the tomato stack salad for her appetizer, and the duck breast with risotto. I had the oysters Rockefeller and the flat iron steak oscar. My wife loved both of her meals. My oysters were great and the entrée was amazing. The wine reduction sauce mixed with the bordelaise was outstanding. The only change I might have made was having my steak prepared slightly more well done. I ordered it med-rare and it was slightly chewy in the center. The outsides were more crispy and tasted much better. Would probably go at least medium next time. We also split a ricotta cheesecake for dessert. The only downside is that it is definitely more expensive than your typical dinner joint. If I had to label the restaurant, I would compare it to the price level of Ruth Chris...with less volume of food...but better quality and more relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back for special occasions.

We have visited this restaurant several times. The food is good but the manager sucks. Doubt I'll ever go back.

If the venison is on the menu, get it! Creamed spinach is tasty. Ribeye had a flavor I didn't particularly care for on red meat, but can order it without. The quail appetizer is a definite must get starter, but make sure you get your own, it is small. Ordered the crispy duck my last visit and it was not crispy, which was a let down. Tomato salad with black eyed peas is fresh and flavorful. Must finish your meal here with the peanut butter pie and french pressed coffee.

We had a wonderful experience at Camellia's last night. Everything from the Blue Point oysters, tomato salad and gumbo to the incredible flank steak and apple crisp dessert was delicious. My husband and I have fallen in love with this enchanting town. Camellia's speaks volumes of its outstanding culinary offerings and hospitality.

What a great find in Fairhope, Alabama. A friend and I dined there last weekend and it more than exceeded our expectations. The service, ambience and food were just fabulous. You must have the Watermelon Salad and the Tomato Salad. They were phenomenal as was the Crab Cake salad. Entrees were equally great and so were the desserts. A definite must when at the beach. My family and I will be back. Amazing!!!!

We enjoyed dinner at this hip restaurant in Fairhope. I recommend the fresh tomato salad with peas and bacon, great combination of flavors. For my entree I chose crispy Maple duck breast with risotto. The Duck breast was good and tender; however, the flavor and crispy-ness were drowned out by the huge helping of risotto and sauce that served as the base. I would have preferred a smaller portion of risotto served on the side so that I could have enjoyed the crispy duck. Loved the flavor combination duck, mushroom risotto with the arugula. In my opinion this restaurant would benefit from adopting the small plate concept. Less is more. My hubby loved the fresh grouper. Key lime pie was excellent. Our server, Natalie, was very good.

Camellia Cafe is a nice, quaint bistro/cafe that serves excellent food and has a great wine selection. The place fills up quick so either get a reservation or plan to sit at the bar or wait for a table....if you are lucky to get in at all. On the smallish side but that is probably how they keep their consistency. Their menu changes daily in order to utilize the freshest local ingredients. We started our meal with crab cakes. Phenomenal. Seriously, incredible. I had the seared sea scallops and my wife had grouper. Stunning, perfectly cooked entrees. I mean, it doesn't get much better. The grouper was topped with a crab/butter sauce that was out of this world. My scallops were to die for. We decided on the Meomi Pinot Noir....what a great choice. All in all, just a wonderful experience in service and cuisine. Great job to all at this establishment. Looking forward to returning.

We love everything about this place. It is a true Bistro style restaurant with formal service that is not stuffy. It is so refreshing to have a place where you can dress up, have a fabulous meal, a great glass of wine and a good dessert. The ambiance is perfect, the service is superb and the food is innovative without being weird. Portions are good without being huge or miniscule, and I have yet to have a bad experience here The staff all pitch in so that you never feel as if you are over or under served. This is truly not to be missed if you are having date night or a special occasion in Fairhope.

This is a great restaurant not only because the service is great, but they offer fresh local cuisine based on the season and what is freshly available

Ate dinner here last night. The food was okay but a bit overpriced for quantity and quality. The wait staff was fabulous though, very knowledgable and helpful.

This is the best restaurant in Fairhope, hands down. Consistent, creative, delicious. Gets very crowded, particularly on weekends. Great wine list.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and I have never been disappointed. The food is some of the best, if not the best in this entire area. The duck over a wild mushroom risotto and the grouper is outstanding entrees. The tomato salad with applewood smoked bacon is the best yet. If you have not tried this place it is the best I have come across since moving from new Orleans.

At the top of our list for fabulous food in Fairhope...our choice for special occasions. The owner & chef studied with Frank Stitts and it's reflected in all aspects. Love the fresh local produce...heirloom tomato salad is delightful & all the fish is sublime. Don't miss it!

Fantastic food! We had a reservation for 2 but arrived early and sat at the bar and ended up staying there for dinner. Tavi,i the bartender, was charming and made great suggestions on drinks and menu that made the most of our experience. Ratatouille appetizer wAs so delicious- picture a cannelloni tube made with thin zucchini instead and stuffed with delicious veggies and the red pepper sauce perfectly complemented the flavors inside. Hubby had special app, southwestern oysters and said they were great. We had fries while we enjoyed a drink before ordering, perfectly fried shoestrings with fresh basil, truffle oil and parm cheese- soo good! How about pot roast on a white table cloth menu? It was a special and, Yup, amazing, tender, flavorful, bordelaise was delicious! Hubby had salmon special and couldn't stop raving about it. I tried the sauce and tiny potatos server under it and it was a great sweet style sauce with a touch of peppers- hard to describe but full of great flavors. Had a tough time deciding on dessert but went with ricotta cheese cake and the only thing wrong with it was that my husband and I were sharing it. The crust was as tasty as the cheese cake itself, thick & fresh. The place filled up and did get kind of loud since it is so small but it never distracted from the ambiance. The service remained attentive even during the rush and the food was timed right, delivered hot and checked back on in a timely fashion. Can't say enough nice things about this little gem. We had cocktails and obviously a lot of food but none of the portions were outrageous and the bill was very reasonable. We've dined on 1/2 of that at other places and paid much more but camellia cafe was so great because the dishes were creative but not crazy, just flavors you' ve not seen together before, just delicious!

My husband and I went there a few weeks ago for a special occasion. We liked the cozy but upscale ambience, and our meal was outstanding in every way. We chose a nice bottle of wine and started with Caesar salads, followed by the flatiron steak with bordelaise sauce which was served with roasted (fingerling?) potatoes and asparagus. We shared dessert -- a molten lava cake with ice cream. It was quite busy the Wednesday night we were there, but the service was excellent -- our waiter, Christopher, was attentive, personable and quite knowledgeable regarding the menu. Our bill was a bit over $200, so be prepared to open your wallet when you go there. Having said that, we loved Camellia Cafe and will go there as frequently as our budget will allow.

Just dined at Camellia Cafe and couldn't wait to write a review. AMAZING! I travel much of the year, so I get to sample some of the best cuisine America has to offer. This was some of the best food I have eaten, certainly the best in the Mobile/Baldwin County Area. The shrimp and grits were very good. The tomato salad was just ridiculous. I had the flat iron steak and it was phenomenal. Typically I wouldn't order a flat iron because it's not a good cut of meat. Our waiter told me that there is a specific piece of the flat iron that is very flavorful and tender and that's what they use. I was pleasantly surprised. My wife had the trigger fish and she loved it. We also had the cheese cake and the "spoon cake". The cheese cake was made with ricotta cheese as real cheese cake should. The "spoon cake" is a very rich chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The look on my wife's face when she had the first bite was priceless. If you can't tell, this restaurant is awesome. The service and ambiance is very nice. Why are you still reading this review...just book the reservation!

Had a group party dinner here while staying at The Grand. Dinners were excellent with wounderful lselections to choose from each with its on unique quality. Excellent wine selection. Wait staff was covering too many tables and not quick enough to respond. Overall, great meals with a lot of time to converse with friends.

Great atmosphere. Food was good. We had all kinds of apps and I had flatiron steak. Shrimp and grits was best app. Avoid calamari. Beef tartare was also pretty good.

Listen.... I think it is absolutely crazy that this place has not been reviewed on Yelp. They recently moved to this location from Daphne, AL (also not reviewed). We had a great experience. We walked in tonight (Wed) and the place was packed. They made room for us even though we did not have a reservation. The manager made us feel extremely welcome - bringing us drinks from the bar as we were waiting for our table. We started with the heirloom tomato salad - it was excellent, great flavors, well seasoned. I ordered the braised lamb shank with zucchini cannelloni and broccoli rabe - the lamb fell off the bone, the zucchini was amazing. My father had the filet - which was one of the best filets he ever had, and my mother had the special (Meatloaf of all things - but it was tasty as well). We finished with the chocolate lava cake - had a caramel mousse with whipped cream, ice cream and fresh strawberries. What lava cake isn't good? I have not eaten at many places in this area, but I can't imagine that many places will top Camellia. To be a little knit picky, the service was a 4 - good, but waited for each course a little too long (total dining was 3 hours), water not filled enough etc. The decor is welcoming - modern, clean lines, perfect lighting. I also thought it was a good value for the quality. I can't wait to go back, and I recommend you try it too - Make a reservation.....

without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Fairhope. Food was incredible and the entire place is filled with locals so be sure to make reservations. Service was fantastic. Prices were on the upper end for the area to plan on spending a min of $100. And you need to be more dressy than other local restaurants. But all worth it b/c the entire experience was great. Glad they made the move from Daphne to Fairhope.
