I like steak. LongHorn has been my steak restaurant for over 8 years. I may visit 6-10 times per year. I have a friend who had never been to a LongHorn--I couldn't wait to treat him to a great (affordable) steak dinner. On this most recent visit, I arrived and showed the host my coupon. Oops! wrong restaurant (was my face red...!) "No problem," was the response, "we'll honor it anyway!" Evening off to a good start.... Server was pleasant, promised 'excellent service', orders placed. Soon, the server returned to announce that my partner's selection was unavailable, but a less-expensive option was. No problem, that was ordered. Then, meals arrived. My medium-rare steak came to the table ... cold. I took a bite, then a second, before deciding I did not come here to eat cold steak. :( The manager was closer than my waiter, so I flagged him over and he returned my steak to the kitchen. Meanwhile my companion (a LH newbie) remarked that his sautéed onions were so salty as to be nearly inedible. :( again. My heated steak came back to the table, accompanied by the side of sautéed mushrooms I'd ordered-- horribly over-salted, but I was so hungry by this time, I ate most of them. A disappointing meal, but I wanted to salvage the evening for my date's sake. Then the bill came. Overcharges for my guest's steak (the unavailable higher-priced cut) and my glass of wine. I sighed... paused...and then thought, 'I can go home and write a bad review online, or I can let the management know on the spot.' After patronizing this particular location since 2005, -- and it truly is my favorite chain restaurant in the city-- I knew I had to speak to the management before I left. I didn't expect anything in return, except maybe better service next time. To my surprise, the manager comp'ed my whole check. He listened, and went above and beyond. A small discount on the bill would've been delightfully received. But the manager went above, in erasing my bad experience-- and preserving my good feelings for my favorite restaurant!

This place was - for my party - comically bad. From a comfort standpoint, it was just past too dark to the point where the waitress commented that she couldn't see her notes. It was also a few degrees beyond too warm with my party frequently commenting on the temperature. We waited for fifteen minutes despite there being no less than a half dozen tables available which after the problems we had with the kitchen was understandable. It took far too long to order and when the food started arriving, it came out too fast with salads and entrees competing for space. Worse yet, not everybody's entree came out at the same time with a ten minute delay between the first set of entrees and the second with the last having to go back because the medium well steak came out rare. I typically don't do chains and this particular location reminded me why.

Yicky! Did take-out here (managed to prepare for the snow by hitting Uncorked Wines, forgot food). Why did I get ribs? After living in Memphis I do know better. The meat was FILLED with fat and not well-seasoned. The potato was rock-hard. The salad was average. Thankfully I insisted on their also providing the bread. It was warm and tasty. I am vowing to at least throw a frozen pizza in the oven before doing LongHorn.

I've been here a bunch of times over the last five years and never had a complaint until now. This is for the last time I visited. I could only take one bite of my steak because it was over seasoned to a degree that really made me wonder if they just rolled the meat in a bag of spices before putting it on the grill. So I asked for a new steak with no seasoning and found out why they over seasoned in the first place. My steak and my Dad's were half gristle and fat. Really low quality. Also our booth smelled gross, like someone had wiped it down with a dirty rag from a bucket which the water wasn't changed all day and the icing on the cake: (not the restaurants fault) the people in the booth behind us were ripping nasty farts during our whole meal. What a wonderful dining experience! That was probably my last trip to Longhorn.

The precursor to this meal was seven straight hours in the car with my wife and kids. That is seven hours of bottled up energy for a set of 6 and 4 year old boys. We were ready for some steak. You come to a steak restaurant for good steak. Nothing else. If the steak isn't good then close shop. So naturally my wife ordered a filet. And I ordered a sirloin because I didn't feel like feeding my kids a $20.00 piece of meat from a chain restaurant. The sirloin was great. It tasted great. Was cooked great. Flavorful. The filet was total garbage. Worthy of zero stars. Tough, over cooked on part, undercooked on others, very fatty, and overall awful. We ordered broccoli as a side for our kids. We told the waiter how very hungry our kids were and how much they loved broccoli. He said awesome. He waited until he brought our plates out to say they were out of broccoli. Because that seems legit to wait until it's time to start eating to let us know the side dish our kids were craving was sold out. At least they were nice enough to only charge $2.99 for a half order of Kraft Mac n cheese. Profit $2.50. I blame the kitchen. I really believe he was kept in the dark until minute last that the broccoli was 86. I am typing this as we go. They bring a replacement steak. It's another filet. It is equally awful. Two stars. The sweet potato was good. The server was outstanding and seemed actually disappointed the steak was awful. Appreciated his service. Did not appreciate the Sysco meat.

I came here with a group, and all were quite pleased. It was a very busy night, but the service was still top notch. You can never compare a chain restaurant in Daphne to a fine dining steakhouse in Chicago, so I won't. Everything was as I expected and I am sure that this is a great place for a date or special evening. I was craving chicken and there was a limited selection, but that is also to be expected.

We had the 2 can dine for $29.99. For the appetizer, we had the Wild West Shrimp. It's a large proportion!! Pretty good...a little greasier than I imagined but a squirt of lemon fixed that greasy feel. I had the portabella mushroom sirloin steak with loaded bake potato. Steak was cooked to perfection of medium rare...potato was good too! My husband had the Parmesan crusted chicken. It was a disappointment. The chicken was super salty!! It was almost inedible. We didn't make a big deal about it. Scraped off the cheese and attempted to eat it. He managed to eat one piece of chicken before calling quits. We probably won't be ordering that dish again. Stick with the steak! It's what they do best! Our server was attentive and service was excellent! Will come again!'

Great food - the steaks were phenomenal. I had the small filet- medium- perfect. The service was decent. With the high caliber of food- I would expect a more appropriate level of service - not that it was bad- just not off the charts like the food.

My family and I ate here on the way to the beach and again on the way home! We absolutely enjoyed everything about it! Everything we got was delicious! My dad is very particular on his steak and he said it was cooked perfectly both times! The stuffed mushrooms were delicious as well as the Napa chicken which was very tender! The strawberry pecan salad was great as well! Our waitress was absolutely delightful and great at her job! We only wish there was a longhorn close to our house!

Steak cooked to perfection. Great service, very friendly and never left waiting. My only gripe would be how salty the food was.. but then that's the same everywhere in the US I've found.

Our waitress was superb, the food was delicious, and my mother was happy with her meal...which is a big thing. Steaks were cooked to perfection and it was an enjoyable evening with the family for a good price. Would definitely go back!

The LongHorn Steakhouse is one chain that we've found to be consistently good everywhere we've been, including the ones in Daphne and Gulf Shores. I have a favorite entree -- the 7 oz. Flo's Filet, which I order time and time again. My husband usually has one of their simply prepared chicken dishes. We've also had delicious appetizers and ribs here and the sides and salads are very good as well. We think the prices are reasonable and the service is reliably friendly and attentive.

I have never been a fan of chain steakhouses, because why eat a steak if it does not make your toes curl up and fall off with sheer delight? Well, I am glad I tried this place. The salad was wonderfully crisp and fresh, and our drinks were promptly brought out and refilled before we had to ask. The server was great and and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. Our steaks were fantastic. Buttery, salty, smoky and just perfect. They have amazing mac and cheese and I love their green beans. My son had ribs, the meat was just falling off and very, very tender. Even something simple like the french fries were executed well, and not greasy at all. I was impressed by the high standards, I was not expecting it in a chain.
