Food is decent and not too pricey. Happy hour is great. Always have good service. Can be crowded and noisy at times, but super fun to watch a Bama game.

I love this place. The service is always great, the food is delicious ( especially the loaded fries) and drinks are good and inexpensive. The only complaint that I have is several times I have gone with friends and they were closed for a "private event". This was during normal business hours........ I have not been in a couple of weeks because i do not want to drive there and the place be closed.
(4)Keith E.
Been twice and want to like this place. Service was good yet food was ok. Will try again to support downtown yet these folks need to understand there are other options opening daily.
(3)Drina B.
Okay, so this place is great. I've visited a few times now and I will make this a place on the list to introduce my out of town friends to. The bread pudding IS DELICIOUS as alllllll get out. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great, as well. The music acts are not generally my taste, nut I'd come through to enjoy a night on the town anyhow.
(4)John D.
I went by here on a Wednesday night, and curiously had the whole place to myself. Food was OK, their beer menu was also OK - just the typical local stuff and some others. Service was great at the bar, but again I was the only person there.

First this from YELP We wanted to let you know that we've removed your review of Rogue Tavern. Your review was brought to our attention by the Yelp community, and we found that it fell outside our Content Guidelines as it did not appear to describe a firsthand customer experience. I wrote a review even posted picture Let me explain the evening Friday June 19 2015 My wife and I met my sister and brother in law and a coworker Food was great 4.5 Stars had spinach mushroom feta salad with chicken and shrimp Others spoke highly of food and drinks also Service was great 4.5 Brooke was server she was very attentive and keep our drinks flowing But when shift change came service was sporadic 2.5 Stars Servers would come by table but random servers Was not crowded only 20-25 people total When kitchen closed service was none 1 Star you wanted a drink get up and get it yourself save your glass or get plastic cups Music was good original singer bailed Musician from Next door Eddies Pour House came and sang 5 stars All were scratching heads as we left about the service started out great then progressed down from there Might could of understood if crowded but it was not only 20-25 people YELP my original post was posted before shift change so I backed it out to think about what to say So no YELP I was not trolling trying to fake check ins or fake reviews I guess from now on less is in order

This was my first time visiting. I wanted some wings and Karen assured me I would be satisfied. She also recommended the bread pudding and swore it was good. The wings were awesome. They were very meaty and the flavor combination was on point. The bread pudding was good but it wasn't the best I've had in Birmingham but it is in my top 3. Thanks Karen for a great experience. I will be back.

I live in Florida and I cover the whole nation for business. Every now and then you find something that you just have to order. Triggerfish, something that usually is not on any menu. I don't even find it in Florida much. And this place not only had it, but they did it absolutely thumbs up solid. I would recommend this place anytime. Great beer, awesome food and solid service. What's not to like?

I've found Rogue Tavern to just be an A-Ok place. The way the place is set up is kind of awkward. It's a huge open space, but doesn't have the appeal of a large venue nor does it have an intimate feeling. Just a giant, mostly empty room. Even when a lot of people are there, it doesn't look crowded. I don't know, maybe some sort of room dividers would help. Sitting out back is the way to go on a good day. Rogue will typically show football games on a big projector screen, which is the only time the awkward interior seems to make sense. I had to swear off going there to watch my Auburn games, though, after witnessing a disastrous AU/GA game last year. I've only eaten there once so I don't know the food too well, but it was slightly more expensive than I was comfortable with. The quesadilla was pretty good, but 10 bucks good? Nah. They have a good selection of drinks, but who doesn't these days? Would I do Rogue Tavern if it was the last bar on earth? Yeah, probably. Hopefully it'll never come to that, though.

Great local beer selection. Awesome bleu chees burger sliders and fries.
(5)Rick R.
Mini black & bleu burgers rock!!!
(5)Wes A.
Great food. Great service. Great music! My wife and I had been here several times, but never went and tried the food until this past Wednesday. I can say, the "Veggie Dilla" was awesome. I added the shrimp, which was really good. Excellent music to hear too! They have acoustic acts during the week and usually full bands on the weekends.
(5)Mike M.
Rogue is my office teams unofficial second home. Lunch and drinks, you'll pretty much find them there. And, I might be with them. Along with the friendly staff and great beer selection, they have a very nice menu. The quality of the food far exceeds my expectations for a bar and really stands up to any restaurant in town. They may be a bar but the focus on great food like nice salads, great sandwiches and seasonal specials. Prices are reasonable for the area. I know they have bands but in spite of my frequent visits, I haven't been there during a performance. I've heard it's fun but I'm back out in the burbs by then. Try it, you'll like it.
(5)Roger T.
Rogue Tavern understands that drinks dont have to be an arm and a leg. Their well bourbon is Jim Beam, which is outstanding. Considering most folks are giving Kentucky Gentlemen as well. The food is always great. It comes out fresh and hot. Service never lets me down. We are treated well and enjoy this place any time we come. It is one our go to spots if we wanna have a good but inexpensive night out.
(4)Daya' M.
Very pleasant atmosphere good for networking, a midwork week lunch a casual date or just a place to hang out. Special order drinks are no problem. The gumbo was very tasty and sandwiches are good.
(4)Shannon T.
The big open space is nice and welcoming. The food always seems decent just not my favorite something is always missing can't figure out what but whatever it is keeps me away. Not to fond of how small the bar area is for such a large establishment. Maybe just beer here is best.
(2)William T.
I will occasionally get hot wings here but I won't eat in because the drinks are overpriced and it is very dark inside (the lighting is meant to be this way I guess). There is nothing unique about Rogue Tavern, just another restaurant/bar.
(2)Nora B.
Maybe we should have stuck to typical bar food but this place was gross. The plates were dirty and I had about 2 bites of my salad before giving up on it. My friend got a quesadilla and at first said it was ok the. About halfway through was completely over it and felt gross. Check out other places if you're looking for good food.
(1)Allison C.
I have been in Rogue Tavern a couple of times, and in my previous visits had thought the food was okay, but the service was poor. I almost never complain because I work in a restaurant and understand all the things that can go wrong. During my last visit I got the Asian noodle salad on the recommendation from my server. Everyone at my table agreed it was inedible. Unfortunately, the server never returned to check on us, and didn't say a single word or even look in our direction when she dropped the check. The restaurant wasn't busy. Needless to say, I won't be returning. I highly recommend you don't waste your time and money on this entirely disappointing experience.

Went for lunch today and the food and service was great. I've been several other times but today the food presentation, timing and taste was the best! I ordered the pimento cheeseburger sliders with sweet potato fries. The fries are drizzled with a sweet Carmel sauce and they are so good! The pimento cheese is a bit spicy just how I like it but if you don't, maybe steer clear. My friend ordered the AL fried green tomato sliders and those were good too! We were in and out for lunch in less than an hour!
(5)Craig N.
Good solid tavern food. Very god salads and the burgers are solid. The island salad with the deviled egg is one of my favorites. You also can't go wrong with the fried Panko chicken with some drizzled honey. Very good selection of beers and a good amount on tap. Can be loud at times. Also gets some decent music.
(3)Jay E.
I was going to go to Yo Mommas, but figured I would hit up Rogue for lunch since I've eaten there before. Well the service hasn't changed much since the last time I ate there. I waited around for 6 minutes and didn't get a menu, drink or waitress. I just got up and left. The food is good, but not worth the service.
(1)Matt S.
Had the jalapeño burger. It wasn't too spicy and a great burger. Sweet tea and regular fries. Sweet potato fries have the Cinnamon butter on them I would've recommend the chips. Not seasoned well. There are two big projector screens and several Tv's in a warehouse like atmosphere. Great place to eat!
(5)Matt O.
I have been to Rogue several times and I always enjoy it. There is usually an open table and there is lots of space for large groups. The food is good, but can be bland at times. I had wings last time and it was one of the better items I have had. Great beer selection and prices. Most beers are under $4. If you like beer, especially local beer, then you should definitely go.
(4)Derek W.
NEVER AGAIN. I've been a regular at Rogue since since it opened literally spending $1,000's at their restaurant on both personal and business occasions. On 03/22/14, I treated my parents, wife, and children to dinner at Rogue. The manager refused to honor a $50 discount certificate I previously purchased for Rogue. The manager simply said, "the restaurant was loosing money on the certificates and they would no longer honor the certificates". There are two many other options for food and beverages to do business with the dishonest owners of Rogue. El Barrio and Pale Eddie's are both on the same block of 2nd Ave, and the owners of these establishments are much more deserving of our business. GOOD LUCK Rogue Tavern. You are on the way to the trash heap of forgotten restaurants run by men who disregard their customers.
(1)Terri R.
Wow. Hubby and I just love everything about Rogue. The food is great every time we go. The beer selection is plentiful and diverse. Don't see what you like? Ask one of the knowledgeable bar tenders and they will find something great and you will have a new favorite. They are very supportive of community which is always a plus in my book.

I have attended various shows / concerts here in the past and have always had a pleasant time. I decided to eat dinner here last weekend, because I had purchased a Restaurant.com coupon through my employer for Rogue. Luckily, I asked my server about using the voucher BEFORE my party and I proceeded with running up a tab of $75 or more to meet the voucher requirements. I was informed that they stopped redeeming the coupons a month and a half ago and that I would need to seek a refund from Restaurant.com . We pleaded with another server to check with management, b/c it doesn't seem right that a customer should be inconvenienced with the restaurant's disagreement with Restaurant.com . The server stated that he would check with a manager and come back. He never came back. The really awesome part is that I actually cannot get a refund for the coupon I bought from Restaurant.com either. They will only exchange it for another voucher. So basically the customer is the one screwed in the deal. My food from Rogue was fine...no complaints really there. However, I am displeased with the service / experience and I will stick to treating it like a bar / music venue in the future....which basicically makes it nothing special.

Fun servers, nice atmosphere, food nothing special. Came here while there was apparently a high school reunion AND a going away party happening at the same time - and we as just a random table of four. Still had good service, our waiter was attentive and a fun kind of goofy. I ordered chicken wings, jerk, and coming from South Florida where I know a few good Jamaican places, I wasn't expecting anything amazing, and that's exactly what I got. Actually, it was below what I was expecting, there was barely any flavor. The wings were well cooked, but just no flavor. So I asked for some sauce - the hottest they had. I got a bowl of red with chili flakes, and it was mildly amusing. The fries were very good - both regular and sweet potato - and I tried my friend's black and blue sliders which were pretty good. I was pleased to see they could pull off medium-rare on a slider. So would I come back? Meh, not really, just nothing amused me enough to warrant a re-visit - there's plenty more I could explore on a subsequent trip.

This place gets close to 5 stars for me. The service was good, it was a well kept place. They had a bar with TVs if you were more interested in viewing some sports will chumming it up. We only stopped in for food and dessert, and I liked all that I tried. The space is very open and large, which was nice considering it seems pretty dark from the outside. I had some honey glazed chicken with maybe pecans. I also tried some sweet potato fries and some pimento cheese burger. It was all very good. Then we finished it off with some bread pudding(the best dessert there), key lime pie, and some type of citrusy cheesecake. I would definitely go back for some of the burger and bread pudding. I think it would be a nice spot to relax and listen to some good music, too. I'll be back.

Saturday, March 8th, Tony and I was walking in the LOFT DISTRICT of Birmingham, YES..looking for a pub..he had earned a cold beer on this lovely day of URBAN HIKING and Photo taking. Thanks to our YELP app we were routed to this gorgeous area and great pub..and believe me it is NOT SMALL inside..I bet this place is hopping on the weekends... There is a huge Beer selection and a full menu, not just your typical bar foods. We didn't eat but we did enjoy a nice conversation with the owner. Tony drank KONA LONGBOARD a Hawaiian Crafted Draft and he said it was very good. I had a sip..Not bad, but I am not a real beer drinker anymore and it all taste the same to me. I had a nice sweet southern iced tea. After our drink, on to the next urban siting

Located on the trendy 2nd Avenue North, Rogue is an convenient meeting place for downtown lunch or happy hour meetings. The room is huge, so no matter how busy it is (and it was today), there isn't much of a wait. The menu will let you indulge with a variety of burgers dripping with cheese or stay on the light side with a salad or fish. I was pretty hungry, but wanted to stick with a salad, so I opted for the black and bleu. It's served with a lightly blackened sirloin over greens with caramelized red onions, tomatoes, and served with a roasted bleu cheese vinaigrette. The meat was cooked exactly as I ordered. We didn't have to wait long and the meal was enjoyed by everyone.

Good food and drinks. I love coming to Rogue to catch a band. The patio is great, in the winter they have the heat lamps to keep you warm. The food has always been very good!

I wanted to say how amazing Brooke is. She was very personable and really nice. She made our experience a memorable one. She's the epitome of a waitress. I think I asked her to pick between the jalapeno burger and something else that I wanted and she did not lead me astray. My nose and lips were burning from the jalapenos, that's a good thing. The burger was juicy and delicious. She allowed for me to do half & half for my side order. I had half sweet potato fries and half peppercorn chips. I was stuffed like a sausage casting. I fell asleep when I got back to the b&b when we were supposed to be going to the bar. My friend had a spinach feta salad and some cajun deviled eggs. The eggs were soooo good. I love rooster sauce which I'm assuming is the cajun twist to it. The drinks were cheap! I had two girly drinks that Brooke had whipped up for me. My friend had tequila and pineapple juice. I would love to come back.

Went in here last night while at the Paint the Town Red" fundraiser event. Due to the event, the bar was slammed but I managed to squeeze into a stool at the itty bitty bar. After waiting like 10 minutes for any acknowledgement we decided to not attempt a full dinner but order one round of drinks and an appetizer. We decided on the chicken wraps; great choice because these were surprisingly good. Most lettuce wrap orders never have enough meat but these definitely had plenty of the wonderful flavored chopped grilled chicken/peppers/onion mixture to go with the five pieces of Bibb lettuce. I will give it another try sometime to taste one of the good looking burgers that passed by us As far as the space itself- very large, open seating area with a nice large stage for bands in the front corner. I heard someone mention a patio but not sure about that... Worth a visit if down by 2nd Ave N of Bham
(3)Mei-Ling T.
I had the black and bleu with sweet potato fries and fried pickles (appetizer) and I have no complaints. I think the prices seem in line with the food. My friends had the pot roast and the brisket sandwich and they liked it as well. The pot roast was better than Cracker Barrel's.

In my experience Rogue is a bit hit or miss, mainly because of the crowd (or lack thereof). On the outset, they have a very large interior space and an elevated stage topped off with a massive screen perfect for football game watching. My favorite area is their back patio, but if the smokers beat you out there you'll be choking on their second-hand fumes while trying to enjoy your meal or drink. When it first opened I went at least once a week. The ahi tuna burger is delicious and just the right amount of spicy. For my beer loving friends, their selection is vast and cold. As a gluten-free girl, and thus non-beer drinker, I usually go for a basic cocktail (vodka tonic with extra limes) when I'm at a beer dominated institution like Rogue. Star deductions are because if you come here on the wrong night or at the wrong time, the crowd can be awkward... I don't know a better way to describe it. Something about all of that interior space being empty is a bit put-offish (whereas Pale Eddies is still cozy and pub-ish when unpopulated). The noise level can get a bit much as well. And then there is the issue I have with everywhere on 2nd - lack of parking and safety issues. This dates back to my early days of Rogue patronage when a particularly deranged homeless man decided to come up to my just parked car and start banging on the windows and shouting at me (and it was raining and dark)... trust me this was right out of a nightmare and I did NOT know what to do. Eventually a bouncer from Rogue heard his maniacal cries and ran him off - but the damage was done. And, mind you, I was parked in the lot adjacent to Rogue, only a few spots in, not blocks away or anything. If you don't park in that lot, you must parallel park, something this girl is terrible at to say the least. So, if the patio was bigger and less smoky, the service always top-notch (can be hit or miss), and the parking situation better, 5 stars it would be. For now I'll stick with 3, but, as always, I'm open to changing my mind, and, of course, will be going back to Rogue in the hopes of a 4-5 star experience!

Had lunch here with a group of 14--service was excellent with grouping tables together, refills, and getting the food out quickly and together. Lettuce wrap appetizer was tasty, also ordered the hummus trio which was lacking much flavor. Ordered the steak quesadilla, which was very good. My wife had the veggie quesadilla and she would not stop raving about it (she LOVES goat cheese, that had to have something to do with it). Will definitely dine here again, plenty on the menu to choose from.
(4)carolyn h.
I went for lunch and enjoyed it a lot. Good service, great food that's at a great price point. I ate a grilled tuna salad, I'm still thinking about it. If they have iti say go for it. My friend got the roast beef and loved it. my one beef is, that they could fit more tables, we had to sit at the bar which we didn't mind but there is def space for more seeting.
(4)Zackery M.
Rogue Tavern is the kind of place where no matter what you say about it, good or bad, you can almost always follow it up with "most of the time." It goes like this: - Rogue has great service, most of the time. - The bands are really good, most of the time. - My food has been perfect, most of the time. And it's true. Your experience at Rogue is going to be hit-or-miss. You could order the same thing every single time and never get exactly what you expected it to be (with the exception being burgers, the Rogue chefs can grill up a good burger). But more times than not this bar/restaurant/music venue gets it right and that's why I keep going back. Another reason I keep going back to Rogue is it's versatility. It's the kind of place you could have a business meeting at lunch then go back that night with friends for drinks and a show.
(3)Ana G.
I really love the beer selection in this place. The service was pretty good as well, the server was very attentive even though there was quite a bit of a crowd that night. I tried the sliders which were pretty solid, a little on the greasy side, but they were quite tasty. Their fries are not to be missed.
(4)Natasha S.
Although the service is a hit-or-miss, I really, really like this place for lunch. My first experience wasn't too great. I ordered a fish sandwich -- the bread had a weird stale like smell. I gave it another chance thanks to my colleagues and I am glad I did. I love their quesadillas. Can't go wrong with that. It's def on the list!
(4)Sherri R.
This is a great spot for a quick, delicious lunch or a nice dinner. The weekends here are pretty packed with live music, sports on the large screens, and parties. It's one of the many happening places on 2nd Avenue North and a great starting or ending spot for the night. There is a great, rotating draught beer selection, as well.
(4)Raye F.
Yummy! The mahi burger was delicious. Seasoned to perfection. The homemade kettle chips were delicious as well. Cool place for a casual dinner date or evening after work with friends! Prices= nothing over $15. Pretty good. Also happy hour ends at 7. Very attentive servers.
(4)Michael G.
WOW! Art Walk, great, i mean great tap beer, and outstanding service. Jessica was off the hook! Gave my wife an I the personal attention my wife needed...Just diagnosed with Breast cancer and Jessica was thoughtful, and compassionate. We will be coming back to Birimingham for the next year for treatments and surgeries. On the off times and lunch/dinner abilities we know where our time will be spent. Thank You Rogue Tavern for being the atmosphere we needed and will continue to enjoy. Mike
(5)Trav B.
I had the Tuna burger and it was really good. Though I have to admit that the fried olives stuffed with cheese took top prize at lunch today. I'll be going back for lunch and have yet to go in the evening when they have bands playing.
(4)Chaz M.
Such a great place to either hang with friends and enjoy a good drink or enjoy great food at the same time. Best bar in the downtown Birmingham area. The staff is the best around.
(5)MJ S.
Seems like a pretty cookie-cutter bar.
(3)Trevvor C.
Not quite the atmosphere I was expecting, but the place was pretty nice nonetheless. The lunch crowd was lively, full, and dominated by suits from the nearby business district. The chalked sign outside reads "seat yourself," which my wife and I missed as we strolled in, but a table was fairly easily found. The teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps were a tasty appetizer, very flavorful if messy. However, as my wife said, it wasn't a $10 starter either in quantity or quality. For the entrees, I got the Rogue Burger (just lettuce and tomato) with the fries (an excellent decision--it's like a happy marriage of Chick-fil-a and Arby's fries: thick waffle cut with a savory seasoning) and my wife got the pecan crusted chicken with creamed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Both meals were good, but not rush-back-and-eat-it-again good. The grilled veggies were more like stir-fry, but they complemented the chicken well. All in all, $40 for a lunch is a bit steep in my book, especially for good-but-not-great food, hence the three stars. Even so, we'll probably go back at some point to check out some other menu items...and hopefully get out for under forty bucks.
(3)Osito S.
Walked here from my hotel because I was told the burgers were amazing. Ok, well, first things first, the burger I had was not bad -- but not amazing. It was also the jalapeno burger and was so spicy I could start to smell colors and possibly see the future after just taking several bites. The seasoned french fries were booooommmmb as was the white chocolate bread pudding. Great beer selection and my waitress was fantastic and chose a great independently brewed beer from Colorado...Overall it was a good experience but would need to try another burger if I am ever going to possibly call it amazing.

I frequently travel down to Alabama from Minnesota as my boyfriend lives down there and last weekend was the first time that either of us have wandered into Rogue Tavern and I am so glad that we did; they have a freakishly awesome beer selection (which I was not expecting!) and the food is drool-worthy. I got the agave lime steak quesadilla and it was heavenly; even a day later the leftovers were delicious, lol. My boyfriend got the BLT sliders made with fried green tomatoes and I was drooling over them the whole time. Thankfully he is the best boyfriend ever and agreed to swap one slider for a quesadilla so I could have my own, I probably wouldn't have done the same for him after taking a bite, lol. Believe me when I say that those little sliders may be the best thing I have ever had in my life; I am still dreaming of them from precisely 1,083.3 miles away. If all that wasn't enough our waitress called me "sugar mama" and I was sold. This is my new favorite spot in Birmingham and I will definitely be back on my next Southern excursion. Keep doing what you guys are doing because you're doing one hell of a job!
(5)Jim P.
I went here on a Friday during lunch. It was the first warm sunny day (March 19 - which is also National Oil Day in Iran) in a long time and the place was packed. They have several burger offerings. I went with the basic "rogue burger" which only has lettuce and tomato. I wanted to get the pure burger experience before branching out. I'll have to say its the best burger downtown, north of southside at least. Fried zuchini was very good too. I'm anxious to go back for dinner soon.
(4)BT C.
Rogue is a great addition to the downtown social scene. The food is several notches above your typical fry daddy bar food and while they may not deserve the "Best New Restaurant" designation they received from an uncited source, they have a few dishes that stand out. The fried pickles and zucchini are tasty, as is the braised pork taco. The homemade chips are too salty, but the burgers are spot on. I've seen a couple of shows there. Both have been fine for bar rock. Beers are on the expensive side, but become quite reasonable after using the Birmingham Weekly card, which they take for food and drink.
(4)Jessica k.
Great atmosphere for a fun night out with friends or a date! Went on a saturday night...very good drinks and a live band was playing some pretty good original music. All sorts of people, young and old were there having a great time. There's a patio out back that I'm sure is very nice during summer. We were so glad to find this place as it will definitely be one of our favorite bars here!
(5)Patricia P.
went to the first ever rogue music fest and the entertainment was awesome while the food was excellent the portions were a bit small. We shared the sauted greek style crab legs-great, versatile dish, loved the feta in it! Also shared the seared ahi tuna- very good, not the best i have ever had but really good and had btw./3 the personal cheese pizza with feta- very nice and tangy! There was a burger eating contest- a 2 pound pattie, 8 slices of cheese, tomato, lettuce, 1 whole red onion and french ffried onion. While none of the 4 contestants finished, it was impressive to watch. Next time I visit Bham I will try their regular size burger.
(4)Brad C.
Save yourself some trouble, don't go here. This place sucks! My main gripe is the music! The bands are way too loud and play nothing but covers. The food is okay, but not worth visiting for. This is a place that really should be located down 280 and covered in neon. Don't go here if you want a sophisticated experience.

My friends and I roamed in one random Friday night and boy did we have fun. We sat ourselves over on the elevated platform to the right and our waiter was very nice and funny. He came by at the right times to refill our water and with the bill etc. Great food as well. The hummus sampler is fantastic. I got the spinach salad with goat cheese and sherry vinaigrette. I wasn't planning on eating everything but it was so good i couldn't stop eating it. I came here once before and there were about 4-5 goat cheese balls on the salad, which was way too much. This time there were 3 and they were a little bit smaller and so the portion was much better this time. I was happy with their beer selection as well. The trim tab pillar to post was exactly what I was looking for. We had a great time.
(5)Ericka J.
House red was excellent l. I went in looking for the fried oysters, but they were out. Turns out that was a blessing because I will be dreaming about these crab cakes for years! Service was excellent and atmosphere was friendly and rocking. Staff were professional and quick. I wish I lived here, just so I could come back every weekend.
(4)MJ S.
Amazing food (especially the spinach artichoke dip with peta bread and homemade chips) and great drinks. It's never too crowded, and they even have live music sometimes!
(4)Holly V.
Across endless rows of pine trees and mangled roads from the city of Atlanta, you'll find a quaint metropolis called Birmingham. Now that I've got your attention, let's discuss The Rogue Tavern. Food: We had the Gulf Breakfast Omelette and the Cajun Eggs Benedict along with a Watermelon wheat and an Oktoberfest. The Eggs Benedict was great and the crab cakes added a nice flair to the dish. The Omelette was delicious, shrimp and bacon is always a winning combo in my book. Especially when the bacon is extra crispy! The beers were also great additions to the meals. Having decided to travel to Birmingham on a whim, the staff was very accommodating in helping us decide where to go next with recommendations for craft breweries and local hotels.

Great staff, good food, good lunch, kinda pricey ($22 for 2 people for lunch) but they did offer a lunch special that was chicken nachos that were on point! Worst thing about this place was it was so cold inside

Good beer and trivia on a Monday albeit hard. The wings are sad--the dry skinny type. Now let's get to the good stuff. On a Thirsday (spelled correctly) the music is enjoyable and if you ask the courteous and realistic Taylor she will tell you where this joint shines on the menu. Lasagna as a special, fried chicken and best of all, and I can vouch, the burgers and sweet potato fries are on point!!!!

Great spot to pop in for a post-work beer. Some decent parking available on the street if you're lucky. Local beers on tap available and at an amaze price - their happy hour special was a cheap three bucks. There's food, but I have no idea about that. Free wifi also? Wow!

Rogue Tavern (aka Rogue as I affectionately call it) is one of my favorite places to eat lunch or dinner on the weekend in downtown Birmingham. The food and service are consistently good and the servers are always friendly whenever I stop by. The facility is also large enough to accommodate big groups without ever feeling overly crowded. Some of my menu favorites include the Ahi Tuna Tataki and Salad, Rogue PoBoy with the delicious sweet potato fries (try the sandwich with a mixture of fried shrimp & oysters), Catch of the day selections, and the weekly Fish Taco specials (such as Mahi Mahi & Grouper). As you can see, I love a lot of food on the menu! But I would like to see some expansion in the seasonal selections. In addition, the beer menu is decent and diverse options rotate seasonally. I've enjoyed everything from raspberry ale to a Belgium quad to pumpkin porter. I also love that Rogue typically has two of my favorite local brew companies (Beer Engineers and Good People) available. In addition, the restaurant is a mini venue of sorts. I've had great dinner experiences during the live WZZK concert series and small shows. Various sports (football, hockey, baseball, etc) are always playing on the multiple projection screens and it is a good game day spot for drinks. I guess you can say that I'm a faithful patron for a variety of reasons.

We had about an hour to kill last Friday afternoon, for a quick drink and some appetizers. Our hotel recommended Rogue Tavern, so we walked on over. We had quick service from the waitress with our drinks, as well as our apps. Rogue has a very large beer selection, as well as a full bar and wine. We ordered the fried pickles and Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The pickles were pretty good and nice and crispy. The batter had a BBQ tang to it which is different than I am used to. I liked it! The lettuce wraps were just so-so. The portion size was pretty small, and the chicken a bit bland. Not sure I would order it again. The atmosphere of the tavern was very cool and hip, and the service was great!

We stopped by on a Monday night about 8:00PM and there was a pretty decent crowd there. In the center tables people were having beers and playing some sort of trivia game with the lone musician/DJ on stage. Others were seated up in a fenced-off area for some sort of reception. The room is nice and spacious. We at first stood at the bar and got no attention for a long time, and we finally chose to sit in the corner, where we could hear each other and sit on comfortable seats. The servers took a long time to acknowledge us. We ordered two interesting ciders and a hummus trio starter to split. This all took a while and the servers didn't stop by often. The hummus starter was a little boring but a decent size. The cider beer was good and on tap, I think. Although my first impression isn't overwhelmingly positive, this seems like a hip place for people to hang out and talk. I doubt one would meet others very much, but perhaps I'm wrong. Other reviews suggest the food is better than my sample. but, certainly it's a good place to try out some beers.

It's okay. The Music here often isn't my speed but the bartenders are awesome so... How many more characters does this thing need to post my damned review. Geez.

We ate a mid-afternoon meal there yesterday and everything about it was great. The food was delicious (I had the veggie-dilla quesadilla and my husband had the chicken pesto quesadilla [$9.95/each], plus we each got a take-out order of the white chocolate bread pudding [pricey at $5.95/each, but definitely worth it - and I say that as an admitted bread pudding obsessive]). My husband also got an iced tea ($2.27). Our server was really friendly. Also; the interior of the restaurant is very attractive and quite spacious, with exposed brick walls and a pleasant ambiance. We practically had the place to ourselves at that hour and there was very nice background music playing, but they have live music in the evenings and I can well imagine how incredibly loud it gets. Afterwards we complimented the manager and he was also very friendly. Lastly, the restrooms were very clean.

Been a while since I actually ate a meal and didn't stop by for a transition drink. Really enjoyed my wings and my sisters salad. Was not a fan of the fried oysters. The special of the day was a seared catfish sandwich that was just ok. Service was great. I will be back.
