Interesting deli, alot of meat options, very few vegetable options. I was recommended to go here for the "nachos" which were apparently a must have item. I was not impressed. I went during lunch hour and the staff seemed confused... The nachos were a mix of something you'd prepare too drunk/high in the middle of the night to know what else to make or if this is ALL you had in the kitchen (why is this all you've got anyway?). Doritos Nacho Cheese with Pepper Jack slices layered over top and warmed in a microwave. Sick. Sometimes they will have jalapenos (if you are lucky). I do like the crushed ice in the soda machine. Expect to feel very heavy upon leaving. Good, 'hearty" meal.

What fresh heaven is this food. Terrible for your health I'm sure, but I can't help myself! The only problem getting to these delicious sandwiches that I can't recommend highly enough, is getting thru the mass of students to get mine. dilapidated shack with not enough seating only disguises the genius food. I only wish my mom made these sandwiches.

I've been a student at Auburn for almost 2 years, but had not yet gone to Momma Goldberg's. It seems as though every University has it's own eating establishment that everyone flocks to and raves about, and Momma Goldberg's seems to be that place. I actually went there at about 11:00 on a Sunday morning and it took a while to get my sandwich even though there was only about 4 other people there. I ended up ordering a Momma's Love, since that seemed to be the in house specialty. However, It wasn't that large, and it also wasn't a very high quality sandwich. For being a "Deli", the meat quality was incredibly poor. I think the mustard/sauce they put on the sandwich covers up a lot of the flaws. However, The napkin dispenser on the table claimed that the Momma's Love was one of "Alabama's 101 foods to eat before you die." I'm not sure if it was that good, but then again, 101 items is a lot, so I'm sure some questionable items got thrown in that bunch. Considering how packed this place always seems to be and the time it took to get my sandwich in the lightest of hours, I'm not sure I'd go back on that alone. Although the wait may be long and the food subpar, it seems like a great place to drink cheap beer and eat some basic food while watching a football game or two; I guess that's the whole point. Mediocre food, yes. Good atmosphere, I guess. The best place in Auburn? Most certainly not.

What a perfect place to get a sandwich! Hanging out with some friends in Auburn U opened my eyes to how good they have it around here. The bar scene is awesome, and then you can make your way over to Mamma G's late at night to grab a sandwich with soft bread, hearty/delicious meats, and a splendid array of condiments. The Mama's Love sandwich is awesome...Roast beef, turkey, ham, cheese, fully loaded with all the condiments sandwiched between a uniquely soft and delicious sub roll. Heavenly sandwiches at great prices.

Great sandwich shop! We ate here on our trip to Auburn, right after an Auburn football game. WAR EAGLE! I ordered the "Gobbler" and it was delicious. The best turkey sandwich I've ever had. I love that the sandwich was warmed, but not crisp and toasted like most sandwich shops serve them. We also shared an order of Mamma's Nachos which were different, but good. I wish we had a Momma Goldbergs Deli in Texas. We will definitely eat hear again on our next trip to Auburn.

Ah Momma Gs! I will forever love the Momma's Love. And the cheap ass beers, and the darts and the drunken times here. It's not quite the same as the last time I came in there were families eating and everyone looked so sober! Well the sandwiches were still good and they still have that same ancient hand pumped steamer that I love so much...

What an odd sort of place. Right accross from that Auburn campus, so you figure lots of students...I'm good. This thing is small with TV's everywhere. Lots of students, but also a really mixed crowd. Appearently they do the party thing as well. You order at the counter. Friendly staff. They steam the sandwiches here, but they end up warm and moist, and I'll let that stand on its own. Interesting options, I had the Camel Driver, which has salami and some really good turkey, American cheese, brown mustard and Italian dressing. I ditched the other stuff. No soup at the time, so I went with the whole pickle, and it is giant. Sadly the pickle is a dill not a real sour pickle, but still a must have. My coworker said the potato salad was very good. By the way, don't forget the tip jar. Appearently they sell really good nachos, which are only $1 if you order a sandwhich, display your greek letters, stand on your head, and have some redhead whistle Dixie. I made up that last part... Not sure what the bottled beer options are other than $2 Guinness and Abita. On tap they have something called Mama's brew. $3 a pitcher, but somehow my ADD had me ask what style...like Keystone Light. Yikes! They also have Natural Light...I did mention the greek letters thing right? No, the Yuengling appeared to be the only decent thing on tap. I am told this is a "must do" as far as Auburn eateries with history. I am glad that we did. Sandwhich and beer were good.

Hmmmmmmmm, I want some Momma G's! I cannot tell you how many time a week in my 6 years at Auburn (I am not a doctor) that I spent at Momma G's with a putcher of beer and either Momma's Love or Beef & Cheese. It is an Auburn landmark and some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Plus I love the Nachos (Doritos with steamed pepperjack cheese on them). If anyone wants to bring Momma G's to Wisconsin...please do so.

All Gomma Gs are pretty decent. This one is VERY busy during lunch when school is in session.

I graduated from Auburn in 98. Coming to Momma G's has become a tradition. I am at this moment sitting with my 4 year old having lunch before the NCAA Baseball Regional. All you need is a little Mommas Love.

How could you not like a place that serves sandwiches with names like "mama's love"? Momma G's is an Auburn landmark and was recently approached to sell the location to make room for more parking! Well, the owners said hell no and I applaud them! Momma G's is the perfect spot to grab a meal before you head to the stadium to cheer on your AU Tigers. The deli is actually an old house that has been converted and like most dives there is artwork and peoples names carved into the wooden tables, chairs, benches, etc. I love this place and can't wait to return for some mama's love.

Cheap beer, steamed deli sammiches and steamed white trash nachos. Nice patio. Fills up on gameday, but they move fast enough that its not much of a hassle. And the cups... I've probably used and lost more Momma G's cups more than I could fit in my cabinets.

All right, all right, all right...I get older, they stay the same age. And so began a football weekend to my Auburn alma mater where former stomping grounds were revisited. Momma Goldberg's was one such establishment. Momma G's is an Auburn landmark, located in a choice spot within walking distance of the university and Jordan Hare stadium. Many of my nights either started or ended here, not to mention the numerous visits for celebratory or sorrow-drowning drinks after exams, finals, football games...as you can tell, any time was a Momma G's time. This place had such character and was a favorite amongst GDI's. Cheap beer drew the masses like moths to the flame, plus this was one of the few late night eats that was not a Waffle House that would serve yummy food. It was not unusual for my friends and I to spend an entire night drinking beer, playing pool, and more. After a 7-year absence, I knew I would encounter some changes but little did I know what I would find. The good ol' days are no more. Gone is the pool room where my girlfriends and I would dazzle the fellas with our pool skills. Gone are the dart boards where I would show that, yes, I can miss the side of a barn. Gone is the jukebox where my sister would announce her presence by playing every single Aerosmith song. Gone are the bench tables where we would pile pitcher upon pitcher of tasty brew, play drinking games, carve our initials, rest our heads for a minute, talk about the universe (ok, not really) or laugh so hard until we had tears in our eyes. Gone is the low lighting where...well, that might be sharing too much. From the outside, the place still looks the same: a converted home. Actually, the interior is still the same as well - only with different furniture and a new business objective. Momma G's has now become more of an eatery than a place to spend an entire night with friends. Maybe they're trying to cater to families? 'The bench tables have been replaced with round petite café style tables better suited for 2-3 people than for large groups - epic fail since people push the tables together anyhow. The interior is now brightly lit with recessed lighting which I guess works better if a place is trying to be more of a diner. Perhaps the only "improvement" I agree with are the outdoor tables. In addition, the place has now become a favorite among the greek society...eek! If Momma G's objective was to get the people in and out and prevent any lingering, they've succeeded. Still, while I mourn the loss of such a unique hangout, the place serves up a mean Momma's Love, the main reason for the late night visit on this trip. Mmmmm, what a sandwich: roast beef, smoked turkey, muenster cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, and Momma's dressing all on a seeded bun, steamed for your eating pleasure. I recommend asking for a light steaming since sometimes the bread comes out a little soggy if they steam it too long. The place serves up more tasty sandwiches such as the Big Momma, Big Daddy and the Bull rider but you really need to have the Momma's Love first. Good food, cheap beer...I just wish they'd bring back the pool table and dart boards.

Staple dive sandwich place for all of us Auburn diehards. I can pretty much attribute them ripping the bushes out from the patio to my 21st birthday end of evening shenanigans. At any rate not much has changed at the original momma g's Still great comfort food...the nachos seem so simple and yet I can never get the same results at home...must be something in the air. As far as the food goes this is classic college cuisine, throw in some great memories of sharing pitchers of beer and Momma's Love + Nachos and this place becomes a gem.

after reading reviews i went there to buy two sandwiches one for me and one for my friend. one was so much talked about mama loves and one was roast beef. i had it all the way. they were a bit high in price but i thought it's worth if the sandwiches are good. when i got the sandwich, the sandwich was small for the price. i was hoping they use good ingredients. when i took a bite i wasn't impress at all. what is all the fuss about? the sandwiches (both) tasted like day old soggy sandwich. you can go buy subway sandwich night before and put it in the refrige over night and eat it next morning...it will taste exactly the same. at least subway is alot bigger and alot cheaper. even they use good ingredients you couldn't tell b/c all the veggie is steamed and lost that crispness. overall, i ddin't like it. i was going to give 1 star for taste but gave 2 stars b/c it's still edible.
