Went there last month for beer and food. Atmosphere is good, BUT this place is so busy, over crowd. Location is great. I got under cooked tuna, i didn't see options for types of cooking in menu neither waitress mentioned about it. Beer is expensive, food is expensive and portions is little...

Really disappointing experience. Patio was closed (?) which meant getting a draft beer was not an option apparently. The bartender seemed uninterested in serving our party and when asked about the about the draft situation deferred to the bar manager. She was quite rude, and rather than being apologetic about the crumby set up of the inside/outside bar situation, was condescending and bitchy. Though they did have a limited (overly priced) bottled selection, our party chose to take our business elsewhere after being treated with disrespect. As the target audience of an upper-scale bar in a college town I was very excited for this place to open, and then terribly disappointed at how they chose to conduct business and treat their patrons.

We are locals and decided to try the new place in town. I must say that LiveOaks exceeded our expectations. We went primarily for the Crabcakes and they were splendid!! We are Crabcakes snobs and these were some of the best we've had. We've been spoiled by DC Crabcakes and it's nice to have a local spot. My husband got the Tuna and it was good, but he raved about the potato cake. Our waiter, Cooper, was excellent! We will definitely be back.

Our first visit, very crowded with graduation parties but we were seated right away with drink and appetizer orders taken promptly. Spinach and avocado dip was tasty. We both had the rib eye with bleu cheese and they were done as ordered and delicious! Salads were good but came at same time as entrees, would have preferred before. Risotto and asparagus was also very good. We will definitely return!

Is zero an option? I went in asking for a beer and the bartender couldn't "go outside" to pour a beer. What.the.Fuck. Is the point of bar?

My friend and I popped over for an app and drinks after shopping in downtown Auburn. It was a super-sunny, warm day. Perfect for a patio. We were greeted by an enthusiastic bar staff. We ordered a bottle of Rose and the chicken & sausage skewers (most random order, ever, I know). The place is casual, so if your'e sitting outside, don't expect to get your Rose in a champagne flute. We were drinking it out of Solo cups like total ballers. The bar is nice. The only complaint I have is that the bar stools are awkwardly high for a short girl in a dress. Not technically a complaint because there are several seating options around (tables with umbrellas); they were just full when we arrived. The menu looked tasty. Lots of fun apps to choose from if you want to keep it simple and come out for a few drinks and socializing.

First time at Live Oaks. Came with my wife and two kids and ate in the patio. Arrived at 6 pm. Patio was busy but not remotely packed. First off I was surprised how close to the road you are but not a big deal. Secondly if this place is to survive it must improve service big time. They where over staffed but the staff seemed poorly trained and certainly were not sharp. Poor table service, poor busing of table as we progressed and terrible time for drink refills. Thirdly the food was total hit or miss. My Pork chop was great but my kids steak was uneatable. In fact we sent it back due to griddle and fat content. The skewers for an appetizer where good though. If this place is to survive they need serious management changes. At this point we will not return. Too many better options in the restaurant category in Auburn...

This is my new favorite place in Auburn, solely because of the patio and older-crowd appeal. There is room for improvement, however; there's plenty of room on the patio for more tables, and some high-top tables for standing and mingling instead of having to stay at a table would be nice. Tony the bartender is super friendly and attentive but some of the others were just straight up oblivious to customers. One night in which we ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for a table and then sat to eat, trying to transfer our bar tab was a mess. Food: pricey but everything we had was good (the avocado- although it's more of a dip than what we expected, the pork nachos, the black bean burger, and the pesto pasta). Add a weekend brunch, please!

Just don't trust their hours. Made special plans to come here based on the hours posted on their website. Said they were open until 10. Showed up at 9 pm and we were turned away. Pretty disappointing. Surely if a manager was present they wouldn't turn away customers an hour before closing?

Mac & Cheese Bites were delicious. They were great to share. 4 bites. I ordered the Herb-Crusted Porkchop. Porkchop was huge and it came over amazing roasted potatoes. My husband ordered the Taco Burger. I had a bite and it was definitely a meal I would return to Live Oaks to order. We were surprised and amazed at the great service and food the place has with only 5 days of being open for business.

While their atmosphere is wonderful, I have come here on two occasions and just left thinking "meh, twas alright." For a dinner, the party seemed to have been too large for the waiters to really handle. The wait for drinks took much longer than it should have. Multiple times in the party were people saying "I'm thirsty...where is my drink?" after the order has already been taken. To eat I had the chicken caesar salad. The portion was just enough for an entree, and it was quite delicious, but for the pricing of the food versus what was available on the menu, I would say this establishment is quite on the pricey side for what it has to offer. My second visit was just for some late night drinks with some friends now that the bar has been opened outside. It was a lovely night to sit outside and the bartenders were really flexible with last call and waiting until the guests were finished. Also, while drinking, they took the time to really see what more they could offer you, expanding your beer horizons to sample the taste of the local brewery. Attentive and friendly - I'll give them that!

Hard to get a table and once you do, good luck getting service. Expensive drinks & a crappy view. Been twice now & prob won't give it another try anytime soon.

Stopped in for dinner with my girlfriend one night because we wanted to see what it was all about. Had the pork nachos to start and I've got to say, best nachos I've ever had in my life. They were light and flavorful. I could have seriously just ordered a couple of those for my meal and been happy. I had the taco burger for my entree and it was great as well. It was like a burger and a bad a$$ burrito had a baby together. My only gripe was they had a very minimal beer selection. You see all the taps at the water fountain and come to find out they didn't carry most of those beers. I'm no heavy drinker but I do like to have a local or micro brewed beer with a good meal so I was a little disappointed. Other than that great place to get a bite and enjoy some company on the huge patio. I'll be back.

My wife and I tried to dine here on Valentine's Day. I knew everywhere is booked solid with reservations so I planned that we would stop at some of the good restaurants downtown and sit at the bar get some cocktails and appetizers then head to the next stop. When we arrived at Live Oaks we observed the large patio and bar area outside, but since it was a cooler night, we decided to try our luck inside. The bar on the inside seemed very small(8-10 seats max) for that area but I spot 2 free seats and another couple getting up to leave, so I thought I was living right after having to wait over 30 minutes at the last place. My wife and I walk inside and tell the hostess we can just sit at the bar. She then informs me that the whole restraunt inside is reservation only, including the bar and told me that I could sit at the outside bar but they don't serve food out there. Well needless to say I was a little disappointed because out of all our stops, I was most excited about checking out the new restaurant and bar. I will get some feedback from some of my friends before I head back to try them again. I like to give restaurant the benefit of the doubt because it was there first few weeks open and it was Valentine's Day.

Had a girls night at Live Oaks and was excited to try Auburn's newest restaurant. Food was tasty - ahi tuna on lima beans?! (delicious combination btw). However, I was severely disappointed in the service. Took ~25 mins to clear off a table and be greeted by our server. Seemed to be plenty of staff on hand but no bussers or anyone to assist the servers. Wont be coming back anytime soon. Need some serious management changes in order to handle the football season.

Shocked there is not a more honest review on here yet. I gave them a couple of weeks to work out the kinks before visiting last Saturday for drinks and dinner. Got there around 5 and was still waiting for 2 to dine with. Asked the hostess if we needed to put our name in or would we be ok waiting 20 minutes....we were told we would have "no problem at all" getting a seat in 20 mins. 20 minutes later we were told that it was a 45 minute wait.....ended up going home to cook a steak. absolutely horrible customer service and management at this place. The patio had dirty plates stacked up on all the tables for at least the hour we were there, trash and bottles on the ground and most of all just HORRIBLE SERVICE. All of that aside it shouldn't be too hard to get a nice cold bud light on their badass patio right??? Wrong!! They were out of bud light, corona light, michelob ultra and miller light at 5:30 on a Saturday after a basketball game had ended...hope you like coors. It is run by a couple of kids who clearly have no managerial skills. I hope it gets better for the sake of the great patio. 2 stars is for the patio only...the physical patio, nothing more. Sincerely, Someone who barely ever writes a review.

I had the porkchop, it was cooked perfect but the amount of herbs and spices made it inedible, the steak was good with a smokey flavor. For appetizers we got the southern dip which was good, and the pork nachos, which could have used some cheese or jalapeños. Service was mediocre, they gave my mom diet coke instead of regular and put lettuce on my brothers burger after him asking for none. Probably won't come back except for the bar. Looks nice.
